Get me out of this hospital now. Now we're screaming out of here. >> Move. Godamn. Move. >> Hey. Hey. Stop. >> Hold on. Stop. >> You better get your stupid >> That's how you act. Is that how your mom taught you to act? >> No. I respect the police. I respect >> Why are you acting like that? >> She says sorry, then slips in a jab at the cop's personal life like it's part of the apology. Is there any particular reason why you're [music] doing all these things? >> To not have to pay for them. Some things work for friends. >> Okay. >> She studied how to catch criminals, then broke the law right after class. On April 23rd, 2025, Boca Raton police got an anonymous tip about a young woman at Hollister who'd been secretly stealing [music] merchandise for weeks. But when they found out who she was, jaws dropped. The thief, a criminal justice major who'd been lifting items for over a year right under everyone's noses. Hello. All right. So, big picture. No problem. >> Um, >> we have this is Marie. She um has taken some merchandise over like the past year I would say and 70 before tax. However, it is under in each separate occasion. and she never took this all like this is over an extended period of time. So if you guys wanted to go about it for a theft then you can if you I understand the state law so if you guys need to handle it a different way I understand as well. Um she did write us a statement explaining like what happened and like the why she took it. But um there is other stuff she was unable to return which the company will not prosecute on that because we don't have the merch. But >> Gotcha. And this you found out all this today I guess or >> um conducting an investigation. >> Okay. >> Just fill this out >> are hereby trespass from all abocromian and pitch properties including uh abocromian hollister for two years. If you agree to that please just sign >> Marie go ahead and just stand up for me in the meantime. I'm just going to put you in handcuffs and then just kind of explain to you what's going on. Okay. >> Your Miranda warnings. Okay. because obviously you're not free to go. And I got some questions for you. You have the right to remain silent, not answer any questions. Any statement you make must be freely and voluntarily given. Uh any statement can and will be used against you in a court of law. Do you understand everything that I've explained to you? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, I see that you've already written out a statement. Is that statement accurate what you provided to uh your manager over here? >> Yes. >> For more than a year, Marie pulled off her little heists with zero red flags. It wasn't impulsive. It was methodical. Not a soul suspected a thing. But the moment officers read her Miranda rights, the game was over. She confessed everything. Every single detail matched the report. >> That was a lot of stuff on that list. Um, did you like keep a log of everything like when you were stealing it or >> No, it's just like >> cuz that's like a a big list of items. I know some of which like you didn't return which is fine. >> Yeah. Um, but like it's actually like surprising that you actually remembered everything what it was because it's like item completely itemized. So, um, >> I mean before I wrote that down, we like talked about it for a bit. I've been working here for like a year and a half at this point. >> Okay. So, last year >> I think it was like 2 months into me being hired here. >> Okay. And it says that when you were um stealing stuff, you would use like a water bottle or something. >> Yeah. Can you explain that? >> I have a like a thermal water bottle so you can't see through it. So I'll just like put stuff in there. >> You Oh, you would put it in the water bottle. How big is the water bottle? >> It's like a 24 oz um hydro floss like it's kind of thin. >> Okay. And each time uh you was it always that with that or were there other methods and how you things >> that or just wearing stuff under my clothes? >> Okay. Um approximately do you know how many items that you've store? 50 something. >> Okay. And in total value, could you estimate how much that was? >> We estimated it out to about um 1,500 I think. Just 1500. >> But today you returned uh do you know how many things that you returned today? >> Yeah, about $700 something dollars worth of stuff, but $400 something dollars worth of what they can like resell again. >> Okay. all these things >> to not have to pay for them. Some things were for friends. >> Okay. >> The stuff that you weren't able to retrieve, why weren't you able to? >> I'm here for college, but my hometown is Orlando, so that's like it's just at my house. So the remainder of the items that aren't here today that you returned are like >> South Florida South Carolina tag. >> Between August 2023 and April 2025, Marie stole at least 55 items, hiding them in a water bottle, sometimes just wearing them right out the store. The total around $1,500. Only half was ever recovered. What's wild is she wrote it all down herself. a full confession in her own handwriting. >> Was voluntarily on your own. >> I mean, it was guided, but it's all true and like I would have said that. >> When you say guided, what do you mean? >> Like he asked me questions kind of in like a template format like okay, the first thing you want to write is your name. I want >> Oh, so just kind of explaining how like the statement goes. >> Yeah. >> Okay. But everything that you wrote >> done voluntarily, correct? Peter >> All right. Um, you have anything else that you want to add to the statement? I know it says in here that you're apologetic and stuff, but unfortunately they do want to prosecute, so we do have to go through that process. Um, I'll kind of explain to you where we go from here afterwards, but um, being that it's a little over $700, $750. Um, that fit in a water bottle at the Hollister store that located this store. Over the last year, Mary has around 500. No one at the store knows about this situation. That's all we had. >> Okay. Is that something I can get a copy of? >> You can um, if you want this this case report that we have right here. >> Mhm. You can take it. Sure. >> So, right now I'm just waiting for a female officer to get here cuz they got to search you. We're not allowed to. >> Okay. >> Um and then uh I'll walk you out to my car. We'll try and do the paperwork and get you up there as soon as you can. That way you can get out in the morning. Okay. >> Okay. >> Uh you said you're 21. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> You said you're in school. >> What school? >> Atlantic University. >> What are you studying? criminal justice. >> What are you What are you trying to do? >> Law enforcement or lawyer or >> um right now I'm thinking maybe like something with domestic >> Okay. >> She was studying how to uphold the law while breaking it behind the counter. Honest in class, sneaky on the job. The irony, it all started with a random anonymous call. No hard evidence, just suspicion. And in the end, she's the one who spilled it all. Sometimes when it seems too good to be true, like I'm sure the first few items were like, "Oh, wow. It's easy, right?" It kept on going. There's a reason why people get caught. People There's a reason why there's police officers. People get caught all the time because it on it goes on forever. Um, but this is not bad because there's other people that steal more valuable things and they're probably looking at a little bit longer, you know, um, you know, sentences and things like that because they do it so so often. They get caught so often. Again, you seem like a great kid. You just made a stupid decision, you know, and hopefully this ends here. You know, I'm sure your parents are going to be pissed and you're 21. You don't have to tell them, but you know, you're getting arrested. you're probably going to need a lawyer and stuff. You're not, you know, give us a hard time. Again, we're just doing our jobs end of the day. Um, so I don't see why not. And when was the last time you stole something? >> Yesterday. >> Yeah. Before then, it was like a while. >> Okay. And obviously it's what's done is done, but like what made you think it was a good idea? just like, "Oh, I could save the money." And then not getting caught after the first couple of times. I'm like, "Oh, I could like really save money through." >> No, I get it. It's opportunity, right? You see the opportunity and you get away with it for a few times and probably a lot of times and just caught up. And a lot of this stuff is for yourself and I'm sure you got stuff for your friends and family and stuff as gifts. But again, it's >> hopefully this is the last time. Is this your first job? >> No. >> What' you work before this? >> Uh, my first job I've been with since I was 16. So before this, like directly before this was American Eagle and >> a female officer was called in to search her before they put her in the cruiser. After that, the booking process was [music] completed. Marie was officially taken into custody, marking the end of her longunning gamble with ethics and the law. >> Do you favor? Your feet apart. transfer on the side. >> Throw that out there. So I need to take this >> right there. Sir, >> just sit down. You want to take the shoes off? >> That black bag is yours. You want it? >> Yes, please. One day work. >> You got scared, huh? You thought it was. >> Yeah, I get rid of that. >> The what? >> I got rid of the tone. >> Oh, you did? What'd you get? >> Performance. Oh, they're going to pee your [ __ ] >> Uh, Model 3 or >> why? >> Why? >> And then also credit. >> She now faces two thirdderee [music] felony charges, grand theft and organized retail fraud under $20,000, both under Florida law. each carries up to 5 years in prison, 5 years of probation, and/or fines up to $5,000. Given her cooperation and clean record, she may qualify for a lighter sentence like probation or a pre-trial diversion program. On January 21st, 2023, police were called to a restaurant in Steuart, Florida after a woman named Khloe got belligerent when she was cut off from alcohol. But instead of quietly leaving, she made sure everyone in that place got a performance they'd never forget. What's going on? >> So, uh, right now I'm working the door. Uh, >> all my guys come out with her. >> Who's her girlfriend right here? >> Uh, he says the bartenders are not going to serve her. Feel like she's had too much to drink. >> Okay. >> And I wanted to leave. >> Okay. >> But because she was so intoxicated, I told her, "Have a seat right there. >> Please arrest me for whatever." >> I told her, "Have a seat right there until she's sober." Offer a bottle of water. been sitting on here for over 20 minutes. So, what's >> So, she's been out here for about 2 hours uh >> trying to sneak in, refusing to leave, and I've told her seven times like, "My next step for you is to call local law enforcement." That's not what I want to do. >> I'm not in the business of ruining right now. You're evening liar because I've never snuck in. I've never snuck in. Never. >> Never snuck in. Everything's been done out here. You're a [ __ ] liar. >> What's your name? >> Chloe. >> You have an idea. actually given you everything. [ __ ] joke. >> Do you have an ID? >> Honestly, this is >> [ __ ] joke. I've done nothing but actually sit here and give you everything. >> Do you have an ID? >> No. Okay. >> What's your last name? >> Okay. What's your birthday? >> Sorry. >> If you want to arrest me. >> Absolutely. I don't I do not. >> Yeah. Is this is [ __ ] cuz I've actually done >> How do you spell your first name? >> What do you guys >> Let's go over here and wait for your friend. Okay. >> Chloe denied being drunk. Even though everything about her screamed otherwise, she refused to cooperate, wouldn't give her name, and dug her heels in. Classic case of someone with authority issues. When officers asked her to leave the area, she stayed put just long enough to make sure it was on her terms. >> Just hang out right there. >> What the like? Come on. >> They just don't want to do business with you. >> No, that's fine. I actually understand that I don't want to do business with half the people I do [ __ ] with. But >> what the [ __ ] >> Fair enough. >> All right. Where's your friend coming from? >> I Lucy, it doesn't matter. I don't even know why you're talking to me. >> Cuz I got to make sure you get home safely. You've been drinking and walking around and stuff cuz there's cars and >> No, I actually understand why you're talking to me. I have family who's in um law enforcement. >> I recognize there's also there's I recognize the name, but I didn't know if you're in that family. >> Yeah. No, I I am. It's just a [ __ ] joke. So, >> no. Just make sure she gets it right out. We have to do an O2 on trespass warning. >> If you guys want to put something against me and I haven't done anything to anyone >> I just put in the computer that >> you know you're not supposed to go back there. >> That's fine. I just haven't done anything to anyone. So whatever makes it easier for everyone is mine. >> Okay, >> bro. Say something like literally say no. >> This is what's going to bring you to jail by mouth and all. >> Well, oh, really? My mouth? My >> Oh, they want to wave. >> And they're allowed. >> But you're you're okay with letting them do that? >> Waving? Yes, >> they could wave. >> You could wave back. >> All right, cool. >> You want to wave back? Wave back. >> Okay. >> What? No. So if he wants to wave something, I can't. >> You can wave back. Wave all you want. >> So you're telling me that you as a grown man would never >> sit here and and let someone mock you? >> Her behavior spiraled. Unooperative, defiant, escalating. For the officers, it hit a turning point. Do they keep reasoning with her or step in with force to keep the peace? >> Bad days. Apparently, you're having a bad day. Yeah, but I also have family who works and >> like I said, >> it's actually really sh that's the you would actually say to someone when you know what you would do and I've actually kept my mouth shut and it waving at me and mocking me. >> Look away, >> bro. you they get to get in their car. Like you don't you don't get that, do you? Like you don't get that. >> Like you don't get that. It's fine. It's fine. Coley, where do you live? >> I'm just asking to me. I've never I've had vehicles. >> No, he would explain when he showed up to possibly give the option here. Absolutely. No other option. Yeah. >> Do you want to say something? >> No, cuz he's talking and I haven't said. >> So, he wants to be an idiot. Just >> Yeah. Well, he's waving his hand. So, what the do you want to say? >> Bro, I haven't said I Whatever. >> You're letting him win. >> Okay. Well, you're allowing it actually because you think it's >> He's allowed to wave. >> Wave back. Why the are you saying why >> things have >> what's your melanin? >> Do you have a melanin? >> Do you have a melanin, Chloe? >> No. >> Chloe swung back and forth. One moment begging, the next lashing out, then boasting about herself. It was an emotional whiplash. She hadn't gotten physical, but the disruption, the tension, and the refusal to leave were more than enough for police to consider stronger action. >> You guys enjoy this? >> There's more fun stuff to be doing. >> Yeah. Anybody? So, you know that the guy in the hat is enjoying every minute of this and you guys are totally fine with that though, >> right? Like you and Yeah. >> Looks like he's going to go somewhere. >> See? And you enjoy that. You actually enjoy that, don't you? >> I There's nothing I don't >> All right, then. Why the are you talking to me? >> Because you're actually causing the problem. >> You're right. What? What problem am I? >> We got called here because of you, not because of anyone else. Let's get that clear. >> Okay. >> All right. >> All right. >> You know what? You know what? You know what I dislike the most? You want to sit here and pose all these questions to us is adults who can't act like adults and handle their liquor cuz clearly you're >> I'm actually have nothing to do with any of this. I'm tired of cleaning. >> Okay. >> You know what's funny is I was at Harvest and somebody else came up to me and told me all about you. >> Who? I I haven't been out in this >> the same month that they're calling about. >> No, I was talking about I haven't been out. I was sitting out there working the other call and some lady comes up. She's like, >> "I've been sober for two months." >> There's a lady at at >> I've been sober for two months. >> I'm not talking to you. Shut your mouth. >> Well, then don't ever [ __ ] talk to me like that because I've been sober for 2 months and I weren't talking. >> She claimed to have been sober for 2 months and really proud of it. But if this was her idea of soberness, she may have celebrated her progress a little too hard. Kicked out of a restaurant and still trying to prove she was clearheaded, ironically, by refusing to leave. She said there's a there's a lady outside >> what are you doing in jail now? >> Why? Why? Stop. What are you doing? What are you doing? >> Stop resisting or you're going to get another charge. >> Why? Can you stop for a second? What the [ __ ] have I done? Please stop. Please wait. >> Grab her right here. >> Wait, can you talk to me? Can you please talk to me? What have I done? >> Ow. Can you please talk? >> Stop spinning yourself around. >> I'm not talk. What did I do to you? What have I done? Can you please talk to me? Can you please talk to me? Please, please, can you talk to me? I haven't Can you please talk to me? >> Why? I haven't done anything. What am I doing? What am I doing wrong? Please. Please, can you talk to me? What am I doing wrong? >> Sergeant Dan told you to knock it off. Okay. >> Okay. So, can you talk to me, please? >> I'm trying to search you. Make sure you don't have phones and stuff. Talking to me, please. I'm not. >> Please. Please. Please. Why are you doing this? Can you stop? >> Can you please stop? >> Sit down. >> Can you please stop? >> Sit down. >> Why are you doing this to me? I haven't resisted any arrest. >> You're resisting. You're resisting now by now. Put your feet in the car. But I haven't done anything to you. I was I >> under arrest. >> Next thing I do is I make you get into the car. Put your feet into the car. >> I haven't done anything to you. >> In the end, Chloe [music] was taken to jail and charged with disorderly intoxication. Her refusal to cooperate and confrontational attitude could also lead to an obstruction of justice charge. Depending on her record, penalties could include a fine up to $500 and/or up to 60 days in jail. In on January 8th, 2024, police were called to a laundromat after a heated argument broke out. A woman was accused of taking someone else's laundry. An already tense situation that quickly escalated when racial slurs got thrown into the mix. What happened next? It only got worse from there. There's three people in there and I was waiting for the big machine to be done cuz I'm on a time limit >> and the machine had 3 minutes. So I told the guys, uh, the machine is done, you know, uh, in 3 minutes and they looked and then nobody took the stuff out. And I'm like, is that your stuff? No. I said, nobody else is here. So I put the stuff in the basket, you know, and left it there. And this lady come running in and she's like, "Oh, that's my stuff." I said, "It's all good." I said, "It stopped spinning. No one was here." I asked. I put the stuff in the cart. We're all good. Oh, no. We're not all good. And she's looking for stains and what? And I'm like, you know, if you put stuff in the machine, you have to be here to remove it. There's other people waiting. I said, "I'm working right now. I have to get my stuff done." And she says, "Well, I'll beat your white ass." And I'm like, "I wanted a car." Yeah. She She says, "When your gets done, I'm taking your [ __ ] out and we're going to see what's going to happen." And I'm like, "I'm not in for a confrontation." >> Yeah. I got to get you press charges or anything or >> it It's supposed to be a place where you just come and you do your clothes, you know, and I removed them properly, put them in the basket, and I said, "We're good." No, we're not. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Can we have your ID? >> So, I just went to the car because >> Yeah. Can we get the ID? >> Yeah, it's in the car. >> Oh, it's in the car. I'll grab it. >> I did nothing wrong and I didn't start an altercation. But for somebody to say, "I'm going to beat your white ass now." It's a racial thing. >> I understand. I'm sick of that. >> You know, they feel like they're entitled all the time. I didn't do anything wrong. >> Can we get her phone number? >> Yeah, cuz my stuff's in the big machine now. So, she's taking my stuff out when it stops. Like, what what is the point of all this? because I took her stuff out and put it in a basket and everything is clean. I didn't dirty it or nothing. You know, it just to start trouble, you know. Taking someone's clothes out of the washer isn't a crime by itself. But tossing around racially charged threats, that's harassment and the kind that [music] gets police involved fast. Officers arrived and asked both parties for ID to get the facts straight. >> Oh, she called the police. >> What happened to her? She took my clothes out the washer and I asked her about my stuff and she pulled the race car. So now when >> What do you mean she pulled the race car? >> The race car told cuz she's white. >> That's why I said something to her about her taking my clothes out the wash. >> Did you say you're going to beat her white ass? >> I said if I if I wanted to I can. I sure did. >> So you understand she can >> she can do whatever she want. She says she work here. So where's the number to this place that she says she work at? I don't I don't think >> she But she says she work here. So where's the number? >> She said she work here to this place. >> There's a phone number right there. >> No, she said she works here and she has a direct number to the person who work has this on this place. So what is the number? >> I don't know. I'd have to do some research and find out. >> Okay. Well, >> so you want to make a >> You can go do some research. >> Go do your research. >> No, no. I'm I'm talking to you right now. >> Okay. Well, I was born yesterday. You were born yesterday. >> Exactly. Go talk to her. She called the police. Go get her information. I don't have I don't have to talk to you. >> We're just trying to see what your side of the story is. >> Okay. I gave you the story. It should match up with her. You're telling me and other people in here too. So go talk to them. Guys, I'm being uncooperative. She don't even work here. >> I'm talking to you right now. >> That don't even make sense. >> So are is there going to be any further issues tonight with her? >> No. Is it going to be any further issues with her? Go ask her that she called you. I don't need y'all. >> She's She's worried. She's worried about you. >> Why she worried about me? She won't worry when she came took my clothes off this. Why? >> She's alleging that you made threats towards her. >> Okay. She made threats, too. That's my word against hers, right? Threat. It don't matter. Go talk to her. She's the one that called you. You go talk to her. >> What threats did she make against? >> It don't matter. My word against hers, right? So go talk to her or go talk to some of all the the 10 other people that's >> The black woman insisted on her rights, but her tone was combative, refusing even basic communication. Instead of diffusing the situation, she pushed it further, making it harder for officers to help her or anyone else. >> Stop. >> Now go ask for her ID. I don't have to talk to you. I know my rights. I don't have to talk to you. >> We're trying to get your story here. >> I said my story. >> Yeah, but you're not giving us >> I'm not the one that needs to talk to you. >> Tell me how she thinks. I'm not the one that needs to talk. I don't need y'all assistance. >> Tell me how she threatened. >> I don't need y'all assistance. Go talk to her. >> We talked to her. Now we're talking. >> Okay. So, I don't need But I just said I don't need y'all assistance. >> So, that mean I don't need to talk to y'all, right? >> She decides to press charges. >> Okay. So, tell her to do that. >> Tell her to do that information anyway, though. >> Well, you get it. How do you get it? >> No. No. Any other questions? >> I have a lot of questions here. >> Well, not my problem. >> Wow. So, we're not even coming here accusing you of anything. We're just saying what she's told us. >> Now, you want to yell at us and make demands of us. We're just trying to get your side of the story so we can >> She told you already. >> I wanted your side. >> It's okay. She the one that called you. I don't need y'all. >> Your words. >> If I needed y'all, I would have called y'all. >> So, go talk to her. >> All right. talk to her again. She was a person. >> Yeah. So, she's still being uncooperative. Um, did you want to press charges? >> Well, they Yeah. I don't want to ruin somebody's new year. >> Yeah. >> You know, I'm I'm not that type of a person. I just came to do my laundry. Her stuff was in there. No one was in here. I asked everybody. >> She >> It's her problem. >> What What exactly did she say to you when she threatened? said she's going to beat my white ass and when that stuff gets out of the machine, she's going to take it out if >> Did you feel threatened by that when she said that to you? >> I felt threatened when she said I'm going to beat your white cuz now all of a sudden because I'm white. Um >> if if you press charges then we have a crime and then I can remove her and all that, but if if you're saying you're not pressing charges, I can't compel her to identify herself or anything and she doesn't have to talk to me then. >> Right. >> Yeah. I I totally get where you're coming from. I totally get where you're coming from. But if you're telling me you're not pressing charges, we're we're leaving because there's nothing else we can do here. >> Then I guess I'll press charges. >> You want to press charges? >> Yeah. I shouldn't have to feel. >> At first, the victim didn't want to press charges, just wanted to move on with her new year. But the other woman's belligerent attitude, constant resistance, and the claim that cops can't touch me flipped the switch. To protect herself, she decided to file a formal complaint. >> I need you to stand up for us. She's pressing charges. >> Okay. And I'm pressing charges, too. >> You're under arrest for assault. Stand up. >> Assault. >> Yeah. Stand up. >> Don't touch me. >> Stand up. Stand up. >> Don't touch me. >> You're under and I'm And I'm And I'm pressing charges, too. So, as I get No, no, no, no, no, no. >> If I have to pick you. >> Can I record this? >> Stand up. Stand up. Stand up. Stop. >> Stop under arrest. trying to arrest you. >> I want a female. >> You're not getting a female. >> Uh they said I'm not getting a female. That's >> right. Cuz we're here. So Yep. I got this. >> She's holding on to the code here. You really got it. Here we go. >> We're not punching you. No one's touched you. >> We've asked you to stop resisting multiple times and you refused. >> What's that? Police had no choice but to use minimal force to detain and cuff her. Even inside the patrol car, she wouldn't let go of her keys, physically resisting every step. She claimed to be defending her rights, but the refusal to cooperate only made things worse. Minute by minute. >> Let me get your phone. >> I'm not moving without my phone. >> You don't get your phone. You're under arrest. It's in my phone. Stop walking to ask you what your statement [cough] >> 1240. >> Let him go. >> 1240. 410 for we're going to have one female 95. >> It's too tight here. >> Have a seat. >> That's what happens when it's tight. >> Ah, you hurting [screaming] my arms. Give >> me hands. >> It's too tight. It's too It's It's too tight. >> You want him to assist you? >> Don't worry. Go the keys. >> Let go of the keys. >> Let's go. >> Let go of the keys. >> Let's go. >> Give me the keys. >> Cuz I just told you it was too tight. And you have my hair connected. >> Well, you're trying to It's cool. >> I can adjust it for you. >> It's cool. No, I asked you the first time. No, you didn't. >> Yes, I did. >> I got Come shut Shut the door. >> She still got her keys in. >> Shut the door. You should have checked me before before you No, I'm not. >> Get out of the car. You're being ordered again to get out of the car. >> No. >> Do you realize that you're I don't care. >> Your lack of get a lawyer. >> Good. >> I'm going to get a lawyer. Let's go. >> Your lack of cooperation is resulting in addiction charge. >> Okay. Okay. Come on. It's not work. In the end, she was arrested and charged with two offenses: resisting an officer and obstructing identification. She now faces up to one year in jail or 12 months of probation and a fine of up to $1,000 depending on her prior record. On November 10th, 2024, Samantha Steel caused a major crash, slamming into multiple cars. Police [music] arrived quickly to secure the scene and investigate, but when they approached her, things spiraled in a way no one saw coming. >> Are you all right? Do you need an ambulance or anything? >> What? >> Do you need an ambulance or anything? Let's Let's walk to your car, cuz I don't want you to get hit by a car. Okay. >> Well, I'm >> Yeah, I see that you're a car here, ma'am. Right over here. Right over here. Right over here. You start off with your driver's license, please. >> Sure. >> Why don't you have a seat in your car, man? Why don't you have a seat in your car? >> Mhm. Let's start off with your driver's license and your proof of insurance. Okay. >> Yeah, I'm here. >> Okay. He wants that driver's license. >> Who's this? >> My attorney. >> Your who? Your attorney. All right. You can call him in a little bit cuz right now everything's recording audio video. Okay. But you're involved in a traffic accident. I'd like to see your driver's license and your proof of insurance. >> Ask him. >> Okay. He's not driving here. Just hang. >> Yeah, just hang up, Smith, and I'll be there. Tell him I'm on my way. >> Yes. Let's start off with your I'm requesting your driver's license and your proof of insurance. I'm sure you can provide me with those two things while we're waiting for your attorney's show. >> I'll wait for him. >> Okay. But we don't have to wait for him. I need >> I need to wait for him. [music] >> Okay, ma'am. We don't mean to make the same more complicated than it already is. It's just an accident. I just need to see your driver's license. >> I'll wait for him. >> Okay, ma'am. Do you want me to handcuff you and arrest you? >> No. >> Because right now at this point, you're refusing to provide me any >> I am. >> You are. You realize that, right? >> Yes. I've been elected official. >> You what? >> I don't want any of this. >> Well, ma'am, you're involved in an accident. You've hit several cars, >> too. >> So, yeah. I need to see your driver's license so I can start the paper. >> Hold on. In front of me. I >> Okay, great. I'll ask you that in a second, but I really need to verify. This is your This is your car. >> No, it's my friend's car. >> It's your friend's car. Okay. Do you have a valid driver's license? >> I do. >> Okay, great. >> And I have insurance. >> How about an ID? >> I do. >> Okay. Can I see some of those so I can know who you are? >> My attorney. >> From the jump, she refused to hand over her documents and kept asking for a lawyer, making it clear she didn't respect the officer's authority. It was like she believed the rules didn't apply to her, that her position somehow put her above the law. A dangerous but very telling mindset. >> Attorney for me. >> This is my friend. >> He's your friend. Okay. Okay. But he wasn't here in the car. >> Nope. [music] >> Is that him there? >> No. >> Okay. You want to give him a call? >> He's coming. >> Okay. You want to give him a call so I can talk to him? >> You want to talk to him? >> Yeah, please. >> Officer wants to talk to you. >> Okay. >> This is officer Fernandez with his district. Oops. Officer, how are you? Uh, you're a client here. Your client here was involved in an accident. >> How far are you? >> Hello. >> Uh, like 25 minutes. >> Okay. I need to see her driver's license and her proof of insurance. And she's understanding that she doesn't have to provide that to me until you arrive. Can you advise your client? >> That is not true. >> That I I would be happy to advise her what the law is. >> Okay. Please can you advise her so I could get this paperwork started? I will. >> Great. Thank you. You listen to her. Sorry about that. >> All right. So, go ahead. It is by the state law. You have to give them your driver's license, your insurance information. >> That's great advice. >> And then start the paperwork. That is exactly what you should do. And I'll be there in about 25 minutes. That's all. That's all you're required to do. >> Great. Thank you. And you said this is not your car, right? >> No, it's my fault. >> Do you happen to have Do you happen to know if he has insurance? >> He does. >> Can you go look in the glove compartment for me? >> It's a fancy car. I don't >> Yeah, I understand. I just need to look at see if he's got insurance. I don't want to open the fancy >> car. So, we got to give you a traffic accident. Okay. >> Okay. >> And uh I don't know what we're going to do about the car because it's not drivable. Your tire is pretty messed up. It's not going to allow you to drive home. So, is your attorney maybe going to be able to drive you home? >> Yes. And I'll pay for the certificate >> wherever he needs to go. >> Well, you probably want to let the owner know that you were involved in an accident. Let him know. >> He's my very best friend. >> Oh, good. Okay. All right. So, just hang tight. I'll be right back. Okay. Yes, ma'am. >> I'm so sorry. >> That's accident. >> Okay. Yes. Mhm. >> Hey, boss. How are you? >> That's her. >> Yeah, that's a driver right there. >> Uh, well, shaken up. Her uh friend attorney is on his way. >> How you doing, man? Um, BMS, >> are you good? >> I'm working. I have to be good. How much you had to drink? H >> I'm not talking to him. >> Okay. >> Exiting. So we know you're good. You just got involved in an accident. It's like >> I did, but my friend's coming. If I go outside, I'm not going to be like so secure. And then my friend >> secure. >> Secure. >> You know, everything is on video and audio recording. >> I know. >> Yeah. So, can you exit? >> I can. >> Okay. Please do. >> Can you hold that? >> Well, well, I'm not holding anything. >> Just put it on the dashboard. That's fine. >> No, >> I don't need it anymore. You can put it in the dashboard. That's fine. We just need you to step out. >> I'm good. >> Eventually, she did hand over her papers, but still refused to step out of the car, especially after another officer questioned her about drinking. She claimed it was for safety, but it looked more like stalling. A way to keep control as the situation closed in on her. >> Yeah, this is my friend. She texted me. >> Okay. Oh, let's let's walk over here. >> Okay. Is she okay? Well, we're in the middle of investigation, DUI investigation right now. >> You need to exit. >> I will be fine. >> She appears like she may have been drinking involved in a twocar, three car accident. >> Yeah, that's what uh we're relating at this point now. So, we're trying to ask her to step out so we can do a field sobriety test, which is supposed to do to determine if she is or not. >> Yeah. that she doesn't want to get out. So advisor nights get out and we're going to have to get physical and bring her out of the car which is not going to be no good for her. She say she knows you. She say you text her me. She's my friend. >> Okay. So exit the vehicle. >> No, I'm not leaving the >> to exit. And you don't want that. >> You don't want that. >> I do. I'm an elected official. >> I actually do. Elected official of what? >> Cook County. >> Cook County. You're elected with which which office? >> What's your name? I'm Sam. >> Sam who? >> Hey, Serge. Is it okay if her friend tells her to walk out to step out? >> No, she's saying she's an elected official of the county. >> I'm on this video. >> Oh, you are on video. >> You are on video. >> So, you need to >> I'll wait for my attorney. >> We're doing our investigation and obviously she doesn't want to. Ma'am, >> okay, here's the thing. You were involved in an accident, correct? So, you're going to have to exit. If you want to exit, then we're going to make you exit. >> That car. >> Can you give her? >> I think you should do that. >> One second. >> That's all you have to do. >> That's the attorney. That's all you have to exit. >> You need to get out of the car. That's all you got to do. And then wait for me. I'll be there in 10 minutes. >> I'm waiting for him. >> Yeah. You got to come out. >> Get out of the car. >> Exit the car. >> Okay. Be careful with traffic there. Stay right here. We don't want you to go out. >> As an elected official, her choices were reckless. She tried to use her status to dodge responsibility. Only when her lawyer told her to get out of the car did she finally comply, proving that even she knew she couldn't keep fighting this. >> Now tell your attorney since he's on the phone. Are you going to do field sobriety test or no? >> No. >> No. Are you arrested? You say no. I was waiting for that. I was waiting for that. >> Why do you have to arrest her? >> Because she refused. I asked her to do so test and she refused. And she smelled like alcohol. She's been drinking. We just been Oh, so you've been recorded all this time. You've been recording. Okay. >> No, I want to do You want to do me? >> He's on the phone. >> He can hear you. >> They're arresting me. >> Okay. I I'll be there in 5 minutes. They just were waiting until I get there. >> He's not going to wait. Let's go. You've been transported. She's under arrest right now. >> Take my purse. Take the purse. >> The purse. Thank you. >> I'm not going. >> Okay, let's go. Can we just like >> No, no, we're not. We're going to sit in the car. >> That's You got Uber. You got taxi. Okay. Have a seat in the car. Let's go have a seat in the car. Have a seat. Have a seat in the car. >> Let me get on your side. >> Have a seat, miss. >> I can't. >> She's in. >> All right. You got a small You got a small wrist. >> No, we have to. >> You want to do the feel? >> You want to do the feel? >> We asked you to do it and you say no. >> You're saying you guys are >> You wearing lenses. >> You wear glasses. You have them on right now. >> Can you see me without without? Can you see me with them? Okay. You can >> I mean I can cannot see like >> All right. So now, how's your head? You have any injuries? >> Your head is four. >> You hit your head when >> when I hit the car. >> When you hit the car, did you lose? >> I don't know what good means. >> So you want an EMS? You want to call an ambulance? >> Yes. >> You want us to call an ambulance for you? Okay, we'll call an ambulance. >> I can be a I can do the sobriety. >> You could do it. You sure? Okay. >> No. >> So, >> I want an ambulance. >> We won't keep together like this. >> Yeah. >> I would like an ambulance. >> After being arrested, she asked for an ambulance. Maybe a lastditch attempt to delay jail time. Or maybe just panic setting in as she lost all control. Whatever it was, it lined up with her earlier behavior. Stall, deny, deflect. Do you know what's possible? >> We don't know. It's whatever the ambulance decides. >> Hey, sorry. He's a 51 guy kind of. >> I'm Sam. >> Sam. Okay. What happened to that? >> What happened? >> Just what happened? >> I don't know. That's cute. >> I was driving. >> Okay. Were you drinking? >> No. >> No. >> No. >> Sam, don't answer any questions. According to >> Ma'am, if you're going to be interrupting, then you probably have to stay over here cuz you're interfering right now in an investigation right now. So, >> can I just have you stand? >> Yeah, please. I'm just going to ask you to stand over here for me. Okay. Please let him do the questioning, which we do with everybody involved in. >> Are you willing to do it? >> It's up to you. I'm not forcing you. It's up to you. >> No, >> you don't want to do it. >> No, I already have enough to like take you. >> My attorney will be here. >> Your attorney's on the way. Yeah, >> he would like to talk to this officer. >> Dude, she could call at the station. It is what it is. I mean, I smell alcohol, so >> it is what it is. You're going to get under arrest for DUI. >> No. >> What do you mean no? >> No. >> I mean, what do you mean no? >> No. >> Wait for my attorney. >> What do you mean no? >> Talk to my attorney. >> Yes. We're going to wait here. >> No. She He could come to the station. She's going to get under arrest for >> here. He's parking his car right? >> Just stand up, ma'am. >> 31. >> I'm going to put down my a report that you refusing field sobriety test. >> Okay. Hey, I got enough here. Want to go to the hospital? >> What? What do you mean no? We call an ambulance. We just wasted our time. You >> want medical attention? >> We just wasted their time. >> You don't want to go? >> I want my attorney. >> Just take not having your way, man. You asked for ambulance. You wasted the >> I want to see the answer. You just refused them. >> Got to let her sit again. >> No, but hold on. >> You're under arrest. >> You're under arrest. You're >> not going anywhere. Underrest. >> She has very small wrist. Careful. And that alcohol smells strong. >> Well, there was a bottle of wine. >> It's half empty. The bottle of wine is half empty. Uh Samantha. >> Well, she going >> I mean, it's illegal to drink and drive. >> So, we have open alcohol in the car. >> You got to go ahead. >> No, I need to see my attorney. >> That is right now, sir. She's been uh placed in custody for driving under the influence of alcohol. >> She struck a bunch of vehicles right there. >> I didn't drink it. >> Don't say anything. >> Yeah. Listen to him. >> She's been Mirandized. She not yet. I'll get to this. >> She refused the field. She going to go to the ambulance. How many cars did she crash into a park? Two cars. >> Let's go. We're right here, please. Thank you, Sam. Have a seat on those. When officers confirmed her identity, the picture got even clearer. Samantha Steel, commissioner for District 2 of the Cook County Board of Review. She denied being drunk, claiming she only had a glass of wine with lunch and blamed her vision problems on a pituitary tumor. Still, she was charged with DUI and another count that was later dropped. Her license was suspended, and the fallout didn't stop there. She also faced an ethics complaint [music] and a civil lawsuit that cost taxpayers $180,000. Now, the Cook County Democratic Party is moving to push her out in the primaries. On the 4th of July, 2024, while patrolling New Smyrna Beach, officers spotted a group of young adults who seem to be drinking underage. Three names stood out. Avery McKinnis, 18, David Stacy, 19, and Michaela Money Penny, 20. What happened next, nobody saw coming. Huh? >> What? >> I don't know anything to say. >> Tell me your name, date of birth, and new range. >> You know what's You know what's coming next, right? >> Oh my god. >> Stand up. Stand up. Let's go. >> Turn around. >> You want to play that game with me, too? >> You get one chance to tell me your real name and your date of birth. >> 2003. >> Back up. >> 2003. August. >> Imagine [laughter] getting somebody in >> Just back up, please. Back up. You're not just sitting there. >> Are we just sitting here? >> All these people back here. >> Okay, cool. So, you're not 21. >> What did I say? >> What did I say? >> You guys need to get some live >> 21. Oh, I'm sorry. >> I >> One more word. >> What's your name? >> It doesn't matter. >> How old are you? >> It doesn't matter. >> Well, you appear intoxicated to me. Come over here. Come over here. I'll walk you through a straight line, brother. >> Sit down. Sit. Sit down. >> It doesn't matter. Get the off. >> Okay. Come sit down. >> Get off me. >> Stop. Come back over here. >> Am I doing something wrong? >> Sit down. Stay there. >> Can you pleaseing video, please? >> Am I doing something wrong? >> Yes, you are. >> I scan you. >> Calm down. >> What am I doing? Read it to me. >> Well, now you're resisting. >> Resisting what? Standing here. >> Is that actually for real? >> Relax. >> Avery McKinnus started off by refusing to answer questions, then gave police a fake name. David Stacy and Michaela Penny took a different route, stonewalling the cops with a full-blown attitude. What began as a routine check spiraled into a tense face off. >> Well, you are now, but you were just trying to fight with the cops. >> I know. I'm just trying to figure out why I'm getting detained for >> what's that? No, you're getting tetained for obstructing. >> We'll explain that to you. But you were given a lawful order. You refused to comply. We told you to stop. You said no. >> All right. You still refusing to give me your name and date of birth. >> David Stacy. >> I'm sorry. >> David Stacy. >> David. >> Stacy. >> Are you mad? >> What's that? >> Are you mad? Because >> I don't cuz I don't have a family. That's how you act. Is that your mom taught you to have it? >> No. I respect the police. I respect >> Why are you acting like that? >> I don't know. >> You're asking about my family. >> I'm just standing. >> I think you're just really intoxic. I think you're really intoxicated. >> That's You're making bad choices right now. So, calm down. I'm not treating you with disrespect. >> That's fair. Okay. Why? If you say so. I'm just standing here with all respect. You guys are good to go. Do your job. Whatever. >> I'm just here from Ohio just standing here. All right. What's your name? >> I gave a money penny. >> Why are you acting that way if you're not intoxicated? >> Cuz I don't know what I'm having for you. >> Acting that way. >> You didn't follow a lawful order. Then you resisted arrest. >> Certainly. >> Yes. >> Yeah. I told you to stay back cuz we were conducting an investigation. You didn't. >> And I stayed back. >> Got several warnings. >> I stayed back right with him. >> And then when he asked you a question, you tried to run away from me. >> Okay. So I tried to run away. It's all It's all in this right here called the body camera. >> Okay, sir. >> Oh, good. >> So, how did you get here today? >> I over here from the lift. Is there a problem with that? >> Michaela tried to explain away her slurred speech, claiming she was just too drunk to talk straight. Her babbling didn't make much sense, and to the officers, that was all the proof they needed that she was way past her limit. Look, let me interrupt her. As you guys try to be more and more vague and quiet, you're making it worse for yourself. All right? You are required to identify yourself, which you've given me. Listen, let me finish talking. All right? If we cannot ID you, then we have to take you, book you, and fingerprint you. You have no choice but to go fully into custody. We're trying to work through that. That's why she's asking, "Do you have an ID? Do you have a a credit card? something to identify you now. You might magically have it on you. >> No, I'm telling you. I can check. Okay. >> Because I don't remember if I had on me genuinely on my mom's life. I don't remember if I brought it with me. So, I can check. Is that what you want? >> It might be what you want. >> It might be. >> Uh, yeah. Let me know. >> All right. Uh, we're right in front of breakers. >> Thank you. >> I'm sorry about earlier. I was thinking about my sister's birthday. It It was my birthday. >> Oh, yeah. accidentally thinking of your sister's birthday, were you? >> Ah, amazing. >> My sister's not even of age. Why would I tell you my sister when she's not of age? >> You think this is like my first time dealing with people drinking underage? >> Like very first time that we've got fake names and IDs. >> Like, we're not the only ones here. >> I can only deal with one person at a time. They don't care. >> And it gets even longer when you give me fake information. >> I'm sorry. >> I do genuinely appreciate that. >> It It doesn't It doesn't affect me. I'm not mad at you. >> I'm sorry. I understand. >> You couldn't keep your mouth shut. Otherwise, you weren't doing anything wrong. >> Okay. I mean, how do all these people know why? Well, your friends were openly drinking on the beach on Fourth of July when we have zero tolerance. >> Nope. >> No, they're not. >> They're just good at hiding it. >> Absolutely. >> So, should we just be good at hiding it? >> Well, you can't do that, that's for sure. >> I can't. >> Once the alcohol was found, their story flipped. Gone was the clueless act replaced with denial. I forgot my ID. I mixed up my birthday. And of course, the classic everybody does it translation. If everyone's breaking the rules, then I must be off the hook. >> Was at a skate park in Ohio before and a call pulled up to me. I wasn't drinking or anything, but he was like, "Hey, the park is closed. Can you head home?" And I was like, "Yeah." And he had me give him my ID and everything. So, but I didn't give him a hard time. I >> You might encourage her to give the right information so she stops making it worse for herself. >> I can try. I respect that it's 4th of July. You guys have other places to be. You guys want other places. >> You don't need to tell me. Tell her. >> They're boring, brother. It's so boring. They don't have a family. Like, I don't know what to tell their wife out. >> Wow. There you go again. Being belligerent. >> Feel good about that? >> Make you mad. >> You feel good about that? I promise you, you can't make me mad. >> Your wife might be out cheat on you. >> Okay. Does that make you feel better? >> No. >> Being belligerent when you're intoxicated? I think that's sad that you're like >> I think it's sad that you feel like you have to talk that way to people. >> No, I think it's sad that you >> have we put you down. >> Yes. >> Have we disrespected you? >> Yes. We're sitting here on We don't want these people next to us sitting here swimming and you feel they need to pull up us. Look at all these people driving home off this. Are we driving home? No. >> Well, that's good. We got half. You got half of it already. >> We will. >> Good for you. >> But we're also But we're also going to deal with you. >> Doesn't affect me. I'm not mad at you. >> There you go again. >> Trying to make herself feel better. >> All right. Let's try to run that. >> I'm not your brother. You don't know. My wife. >> Your wife probably cheats on me monthly. Like, does that make you sad? >> There you go. You're trying. You're trying hard. >> That's it. >> Keep trying. I don't mean to be rude to you, but doesn't make you feel. >> Michaela swore up and down that she meant no disrespect. Right before she took a jab at the officer's wife, bringing up an alleged affair. Polite on the surface, but that mouth was loaded with shade. Say one thing, do another. Classic tactic. >> Seeing her in handcuffs, so I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt. No, you got to >> you got to talk. That's fine. >> My mom's going to get me out of this. So what? What's that? I'm sorry. I can't understand you. You're sluring. >> Does that affect me that you can't go around the beach and my mom's going to get out of there for my mom and dad? >> No, it doesn't affect me. >> It's not going to get you out of handcuffs right now. >> Cuz you're not going to get no permission for everybody. >> That's true. We definitely do not work on commission. >> Yeah. Yeah, it is match. I'm a woman. >> What can I say? Like you guys are out here doing your job and I'm out here being a woman. >> I'm just trying to out enjoy mying beach slime and then hear these pull up. >> Not helping. >> What are you going to do? Michaela. Michaela. >> Michaela, just stop. Just cooperate. >> You're making it worse for yourself. >> Just tell the truth. Tell the truth. >> Cooperate. >> Tell the truth and cooperate. >> We're going to walk up the stairs up here. Okay. >> You guys want to take one each? >> LT and then we'll figure out their stuff is got to go with >> All three were arrested. Michaela Penny [music] was charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest. Avery McKinnis faced charges for underage possession of alcohol and providing false information. David Stacy was also charged with underage possession which could land him a fine or even a license suspension. So, what do you think? Did the cops go too far or did these kids take it way past the line? What kind of consequences do you think they should face? Let us know in the comments below. On January 29th, 2023 [music] in Florida, police were dispatched to a parking lot after a 911 call reported a disturbing incident. An elderly woman allegedly opened a stranger's car door and physically assaulted someone inside. What happened next left bystanders absolutely stunned. Hi. >> So, what was going on? I was caught in the handicap spot and I went to back out that was leaving and this car just came through pass me and I was out and she she went over here by the day. So, as I came out, her boyfriend got out of the car and I said, "Why would you cut me off like that?" >> They're gone. >> What? >> And they're gone. >> No, she's over there. >> Her wife um >> Volkswagen. >> Okay. So, she never >> threatened you or anything like that or >> No. No. >> Okay. All right. of >> the vape store to let my husband out cuz he was going to get out and I was going to park. Um, she pulled up next to us as my husband was exiting the vehicle and said a bunch of derogatory stuff to to myself or my husband and I told her, you know, just go lady >> and she pulled right in front of my car and blocked me in, proceeded to get out of her vehicle, come over to my door. I recorded the entire incident. >> Um, and yanked my door open, scratched me all the way down my arm. >> Show me the video. Stop. >> I yanked the door back and walked it as fast as I could. I have two small kids in my car. >> And everyone came out of the store to see if I was okay. I was just trying to get anyone's attention from inside the store >> and she just thought it was hilarious. >> Play it from the very beginning. >> In Florida, opening someone's car door without permission and making any physical contact, even just a light touch, can qualify as battery. The woman lied to officers right off the bat, which not only escalated the situation, but could seriously backfire in court. >> You lied to me. >> Me? >> Yeah. I just watched a video of what you actually did. >> What did I do? You went up to their car and opened the door and reached in and grabbed her. >> I did not grab >> I just watched a video. Don't call me a liar. >> I did not grab her. >> I just watched a video of you opening her door and reaching >> the video. >> I don't have to show you the video. I can just take you to jail. That's it. >> I don't care. So, it's your choice. Do you want her to go to jail? Do you want to pursue charges? >> Yeah, I do. Okay. >> Because no one should have to do that with their kids in the back seat. My children witnessed this. >> I need the >> Oh, and I actually didn't even have mine on me. I'm glad they left it in the middle of the car. I can't can't see from there. Yeah. And you tried to pull the door back closed. >> Yeah, I pulled the door back closed after she had reached in and locked it. >> The victim made it clear she wanted to press charges, especially because the attack happened right in front of her two young children. With consistent testimony and solid evidence, the case quickly shifted from routine inquiry to a full-blown criminal investigation. All right. So, she does want to pursue charges. >> I'm sorry. >> She does want to pursue charges. >> She does. >> Yes. Okay. Do you have any reasons for your actions of opening her car door and reaching in? >> I I >> don't say you didn't do it again because that was a lie the first time. Okay. So, I'm going to give you a chance to tell me the truth. It >> I open the car door, but I never ever >> It shows you reaching in. The video shows you reaching in. >> Pulled the car door. >> Yeah, which rightfully so. Cuz you were reaching in. >> No, I wasn't. >> I watched a video. >> I never reached in. >> She pul You reached in and she pulled the door shut. >> Never. I would not. When I think someone is just You're going to go to rear end me. >> You're going to go block them in, open their car door, and assault them. >> I got anxiety. And >> there's no anxiety. Anxiety would mean you left. You got anger. >> Well, I'm sorry. I It wasn't meant to be that way. I'm absolutely >> to let you go talk to her. You just assaulted somebody. The moment he stepped outside, security was already waiting, telling him to stop so they could check what was up. >> Okay. That's all we're doing. >> We'll call your parents. All right. >> We will. Can you Can you hop in for us? >> He's going to help you get up in the seat if you can't get up. Okay. You might have to go on that side. The other officer is going to help get you up here. Okay. >> I'm going to lift your legs and he's going to >> I can't. >> You got to go that way. >> There we go. >> You're welcome. >> All right. >> My >> We're going to get your keys and your phone and everything. We'll get it. >> Turns out she had 0.21 [music] g of cocaine on her. Not even close to five grams, but still a fifth degree felony in Ohio. That carries 6 to 12 months in prison, up to $2,500 in fines, and community control. On September 16th, 2024, police were called to a hospital after [music] Rose started showing signs of paranoia, agitation, and flat out refused to cooperate when asked to wait for a mental health evaluation. Medical staff feared she might harm herself or someone else, but what followed [music] went far beyond anyone's expectations. >> Hi, Rose. >> I need to go somewhere other than here. >> We're going to have a little conversation here. Okay. >> Um, so basically, Rose came in here for some help and now she's um >> she's really making very paranoid statements about people that want to kill her here and so I think she needs a mental health evaluation. >> Okay. >> So, I'm going to talk to a magistrate. Um, and I guess the reason you got called primarily was because she got very upset when we confronted her with this that we needed to >> and I'm about to get to look at this. You're not going >> I would certainly be fine with her going someplace else. Right now she's here and such I have to >> kind of take care of the problem as it is. While we were doing all that, she was hearing voices out in the hallway saying that that there were people out here that were plotting to kill her. >> Okay. So very paranoid. So it's definitely needs a mental health exam. >> Sure. >> Yeah. >> I'm not I'm I'm telling you I'm not safe here and I need I >> Rose [clears throat] I need >> Rose. So you are in probably one of the safest places you can possibly be. >> I listen I know what I've heard and you guys deal with me quite often with >> Right. And every every time we deal with you Rose it's usually it's usually with you having paranoid issues. Okay. >> It's not paranoia when you're being messed with. I mean it's not right. I I know what I heard. Okay. I know what I heard. I know the difference between voices in my head that are distant and I know difference between the voices that was standing right here >> like the >> regardless what what can you hold me for? It's not like I'm trying to myself. >> So that that's going to be a medical decision made by medical. >> I'm not staying here. >> So if they decide that you need to you don't really have a choice in the matter. >> I do have a [ __ ] choice. Okay. >> So Rose, you're not going to raise your voice. >> I will. >> No, you won't. >> Yes, I will. >> There are other people in this hospital. >> Nobody wants to help me. I won't. That's right. and I don't need to be here. >> Okay? >> I mean, can you guys not help me other than than just making me stay right here where I I mean, I I if I don't feel safe here, then why force me to be here? >> When asked to wait, Rose immediately lost control, screaming that someone was out to kill her. Officers stepped in as her delusions escalated. But Rose doubled down, yelling that she wasn't suicidal and had every right to leave the hospital >> and tie me down if I'm not suicidal, though. >> It's not about just being suicidal or homicidal. I come to you because I'm unsafe and ask for an officer to escort me out of here >> because I have a crazy boyfriend that doesn't care about anything of any good for me at all. I constantly have to call these guys to come and help you. >> You were hearing >> No, I heard a voice out here. You're right. I did. >> Yeah. Okay. There were no voices out here that were telling that were >> You didn't hear them because you was on the phone. That's exactly what you said. So, how can you even say that? >> So, what you're telling me is that you heard a voice out here >> and you called me paranoid. >> Uh, what you were telling >> I don't get a right to. Nobody wants to listen to me. Why should I have to listen to anybody else? >> Uh you you verbalized and you said that you heard people out here in the hallway that were plotting to kill you. >> So that's that's paranoia. >> I didn't say kill. I said attack me. So don't put words in my mouth. >> I apologize. Attack is the word. >> So are you going to get your story right? Because And what is the reason that you're even going to try to hold me here for? >> Uh for a mental health. >> You're not in jail. I asked for safety. I'm not I'm not I don't feel safe here. I'm not staying in this hospital. I'm telling you that right now. It will be it will be hell for real. Well, uh, if you want to do that, then we'll give you medications. >> You ain't going to force medication down either. >> The issue is this doctor is in a position where he can't refuse or we can't allow you to leave this hospital. It's >> I'm leaving this hospital. Get off of me. Get off of me. >> Do not hit me. >> I will. >> Rose, do not hit me. I'll put you in handcuffs faster than you can blink >> and take me to [ __ ] jailb. >> No. Stop. >> Do not. I am not staying in this hospital. I will do a mental health evaluation anywhere else. I'm not staying in this hospital. I know what the I heard. I'm not staying here. >> If we're going to do a mental health evaluation >> and I can do one anywhere. [clears throat] >> No, >> you I can do one anywhere. >> So, >> I'm not doing anything in thising hospital. >> I have to under the law. >> No, the law is also to protect somebody that comes to you saying they felt unsafe. not [screaming] staying here. And I will once I get help and I get put somewhere where I know I feel safe. It's it's a damn shame that I have to even go through this and beg to go to jail just to feel safe. >> Under the law, anyone who poses a threat to themselves or others can legally be held for psychiatric evaluation, even if they're not suicidal. The officers were following protocol by stopping her from leaving, but that only made her more unstable and more furious. >> I'm not staying here. I don't care. I don't care. I will I will catch a charge bigger than what he's trying to keep me here for. I don't give a [ __ ] I have rights. >> Yes, you have rights. >> You're damn right I do. >> Under the law, I have to I have to actually look out for your rights by having this test done. >> Yeah. And you're also supposed to look out for somebody when they >> evaluation about what >> you're aing quack. Fine. But tonight I'm >> I'm not I'm not >> I'm not staying here having mental health problems. >> Okay. Well, >> but I know what the I heard. I'm not deaf. >> You specifically said >> I was on the phone. I didn't hear nothing. >> So you want to see here and lie on me? >> I'm not lying. >> Yeah, but you are. You're hearing things out in the hallway >> about people that are >> So, how can you tell me what I did and did not hear then if if you was on the phone and you told me I didn't hear it cuz I was on the phone >> because I have a crazy ass ex that has done nothing but my life up completely. It's not >> all right. I'm not going to argue. >> There should have never been an argument. I I asked for help >> not to be trapped somewhere unsafe. No, it's not happening. >> You're going to get an evaluation. They're not going to help you. >> Get me away from here, please. I mean, I'm begging for help. Begging. I've been begging for day for for the longest time, and nobody wants to help me. >> So, you're in the hospital. That's where they help me. >> No. No. Not I'm not doing it here. >> I'm not. >> Get me out of this [ __ ] hospital now. No. Get me out of here. Please. You're hurting me. You're hurting me. I'm hurting. [screaming] Take your hands. You're hurting me. >> Get up. [screaming] >> Stop. I can't I can't walk. I can't walk. >> Then she snapped. Rose started swinging, punching officers repeatedly. And just like that, she flipped the script, screaming, "You're hurting me." Like she was the victim. She kept lying and playing the victim, begging to be cuffed in the front. It was a shameless act, one that turned stomachs more than it earned sympathy. [screaming] No, >> you're dead. >> It's this one. Please undo that a little bit. Please. Please. >> Are you done? Are you done, Rose? Are you done? >> Please. Just please help me. >> Are you done? Are you done? >> Are you taking me to Joe? >> Yes, absolutely. Then I'm playing food. Do you please un loosen this this one right here a little bit? It's It's cutting me. At least put these in the front so I I can get in there >> without a lot of help. >> I will. >> My upper body is all I have mobile. I can't walk at all. >> Okay, I will put you in there. But >> you got you can't get >> But but Rose, since you since you hit me, >> I know. And I'm I'm sorry. Listen, I I have been begging for help everywhere. I've been central begging for help. I'm desperate. I'm desperate. Trust me, I don't want to have to go to sit in jail, but if I'm safer there and got a roof over my head, >> we're going to help you up. Okay, >> you do realize I have two broken hips and two broken legs. I mean, you could damage them worse. >> Okay. Well, you just signed yourself out of the hospital. So, >> I >> So, Rose, I you put us in a terrible predicament, okay? So, if you didn't want to ride in the back of a cop car, you probably should have hit a cop. >> I don't mind. I I'm just asking to put these in the front so I can help get in there without hurting myself more. >> Absolutely not. You just struck me. You're not I'm not giving you your free hand. Okay. We will help you up. We'll be careful. We'll be careful. >> There's I mean there's not any if I if I have no control >> over my own body. >> Okay. We're going to help you. Okay. All right. On the count of three. 1 2 3. >> Ow. Ow. >> When escape was no longer an option, Rose changed tactics. She whined, pleaded for compassion, and tried to spin herself as a victim of the police and the health care system. But whether she claimed she was in pain or too weak to walk, the officers weren't taking chances. After physically assaulting them just moments ago, front handcuffing was no longer on the table. Get you to the edge right here and we're going to position your body to where your back side faces towards the seat. Okay? And then you will do your best to get your get your rear end on the seat and that way you can get in there. Okay? That's where we're at. All right. Count of three. All right. One, two, three. Okay, we're going to turn you a little bit. Okay, >> Rose. >> Okay. >> Oh, no. Please. Please. You're going to hurt me more. You're going to hurt me more. >> Okay, Rose. I'm not trying to hurt you. I'm trying to help you >> more, sir. I'm trying more. >> At least you back so I can use my arms. [laughter] >> I can't. I can't. Rose, I'm going to pick you up and put you in there if you don't help. >> I How do you expect me to help? >> Okay, you can try. You're not even trying. >> I have no hands or legs. >> Okay, we're trying to help you. >> I hope everybody >> go through the other side. I'm going to try and help your upper body. >> Okay, we're going to try and get you. >> Just grab it by my Listen, you're going to cut my damn arm hand off. I don't care anymore. >> Okay, we're going to get you in here. Okay, >> you're going to hurt me more is what you're going to do. That's fine. >> Lift your legs in there. >> Something, please. Please help me. >> Rose, I'm going to I'm going to help I'm going to help you back into the seat. Okay. >> Hey, [laughter] Rose. Listen, >> Rose. I'm going to help you back into the seat. Okay. [laughter] >> Okay. Here we go. Three. >> No, you can't. You can't. No. Are you hurting me, >> Rose? Stop. You're being dramatic. Come on. I'm going to help. I'm trying to help you. Okay. >> Please stop pulling me. One arm like that. >> That's all I can grab. Rose. >> No. This wouldn't have been a problem if you'd put him in the front or even just help me like I asked for in there. >> We need to get your We need to get >> Please stop pulling me. >> Rose, you need to get [laughter] >> I'm telling you, you're hurting me. You're ripping my arm. >> Get your feet in here. Get your feet in here. Okay, now you're in here. >> I can't I can't. >> Rose was slapped with three charges: [music] disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer. These are serious offenses, [music] especially with violence involved against law enforcement. If convicted, she's looking at anywhere from a few months to up to 5 years behind bars, depending on the severity of the injuries, her conduct [music] during the arrest, and any prior criminal record. On January 1st, 2025, officers responded to a call reporting a [music] dispute inside an apartment. A woman wanted to kick someone out. The incident was classified as domestic violence, and what happened next was [music] one for the books. >> I got him on the phone. >> I have the police on the phone. >> Okay, I got that. We're just >> I'm just trying to get my stuff. >> All right, man. Stay in the house. >> Huh? >> You don't have in my house. >> You can throw my laptop. stuff over here. >> Get our stuff out of here. >> No, I don't think so. >> He literally right here. I didn't I didn't call y'all so I don't >> It doesn't matter if you call it or not. >> I know my Oh, really? >> I don't. Yes. >> Then you really don't. Okay. >> I do. I did not call y'all. So, I don't have to give you guys any information. I'm very calm. >> I am very calm with you guys. >> Okay. I'm see my brain is on the ground. Please see that my things are not on here. Destiny, >> I don't want I will not let you. >> So the fact that your name that your hair is on the ground means that you have because you are domestic. >> I did not call you guys. And then once you guys came up, you seen that she was on top of me. Correct. >> You guys seen that. >> We need everybody's >> Destiny thought calling the cops meant she was in charge. She denied throwing a laptop and immediately fell into defensive [music] mode. The most frustrating part, watching someone act like they know the law while clearly having no clue. the point that you are required to give it because it's domestic battery investigation. >> Then I have to give you guys my information. >> I'm telling you that we're telling you public give me any type of evidence you have any type of >> I was verbally telling you that. >> Huh? >> What department are this? >> Uh it came out as a 204. >> 204. I did not call you guys, nor did I commit a crime. >> Okay. >> I >> You did send her a laptop on the ground. >> I did. You did. You see that? >> Did you see she told you that? So that's not that's that's not committing me of a crime. That's including your apartment. >> Destiny, stop. >> What's in here? >> Go over here. >> Like, let's being for real. Get her stuff so I can go back to my house. >> No, you're not going in your room. Your apartment. >> You can't tell. You can't bar me from coming into my apartment. Okay. So, what >> last name? So you guys can look me up. Exactly. So what's going on? What? So look me up and do it. >> She kept questioning why officers needed her information. Classic sign of someone [music] who's either had bad run-ins with law enforcement or just has a full-blown Karen complex. Either way, Reason had left the building. >> I'm not giving you guys any more information. >> Here's the deal. And you're going to get arrested >> for what? >> For obstruction. >> Because I gave you guys my information. >> Right now you committed a crime. today. >> Right now, you've committed a crime >> and you're refusing to give us your information. So, is that what you are? >> No, you No, I'm not. >> Cuz it's not just that. >> We'll take you back to the police department. You'll stay there until we get your information. Ask anywhere. You're not going anywhere. >> Ask lock the door. Ask lock the door. >> That's fine. >> Ask lock the door and don't let nobody in. Call mommy and Jess. >> You put me in handcuffs. >> You're really going to make us >> I'm dead ass serious. I I know my rights. I know my rights and I'm dead ass serious. Know your rights. >> I do. So So lock me up if I don't know my rights. Lock me up cuz neither one of y'all nor him see me throw his computer. She is on the ground with her >> with her. Y'all did not see me throw a computer at all. So what evidence y'all have to lock me up? Y'all don't have it. So lock me up. Lock me up. Lock me up. You know your right. >> Exactly. I know my rights. So lock me up. >> Baby, lock me up. And these are my rights. Lock me up. >> Stop talking for a second. >> I know my rights. I know my right. >> Funny how the loudest people scream, "I know my rights are usually the [music] ones who don't." As if yelling it somehow makes it true. She even dared the cops to arrest her and they happily obliged. One reckless comment and her whole world came crashing down. Make sure that I'm in the right hand. You're in a rest. >> I know. >> Don't let nobody in. Call mommy 261. >> Which way? We're going that way. >> Let's not go this way. Let's take the elevator. >> We can take the elevator, too. >> As lock the door and do not let nobody in. Nobody. >> Are you using your shoes on here? >> Okay. I was just trying to help you out. >> And what exactly are my charges? >> That's right. I'll instructor. >> Oh, okay. Because what? >> Because we're investigating crime as property. >> Okay. Okay. I'm not. >> He just doesn't. >> I'm not talking to you. >> Well, now you are. >> I'm not talking to you at all. >> You absolutely are. Let me go first. >> Okay. Go ahead. >> While being taken into custody, Destiny kept repeating questions about her rights. not to understand but to flex. She refused to cooperate during a search, insulted the officers, and acted like saving face mattered more than facing consequences. >> You have anything sharp or anything on you? >> I don't think, >> baby, pat me down or put me in the mother c. I lowered it so I can watch you. >> I lowered it so I can watch you cuz I'm not going to sit in the car. I'm going to stand out here and I have to make sure you don't do anything in the car. Okay. So, that's why I lowered it so I can watch you. >> Hands behind my back. >> You'd be surprised what people do back there. >> Being real. >> Okay. >> Get the away from me. All of y'all can get the charge me going to charge me with so I can bond out and get the >> In the end, she was charged with obstructing official [music] business and domestic violence. Depending on the severity and state laws, she could face anything from a few months to a year in jail, fines, or probation. And if it's not her first rodeo, the penalties only get steeper. On May 29th, 2024, officers arrived to serve a warrant on Jessica for an assault charge. But instead of cooperating, she detonates. Rage, denial, and chaos erupt the moment the cuffs come out. And what happens next goes far beyond a routine arrest. >> Good. How are you, Jessica? >> Enjoying the weather. Fine. >> Well, trying to stay out of >> Well, that's not good. It's not going well cuz you got a warrant. >> I'm not going. >> I What? >> You got a warrant? >> I have a warrant. >> Yeah. >> No, I don't. >> Yes, you do. >> For what? battery [snorts] and put the stuff in. >> No, I don't. Furious that they're ruining her day out. She grows more combative by the second, denying the charges, demanding proof, and doing everything she can to stall the inevitable. >> I can't look at my record. This is not fair. Anything in your pockets at all? I'm just back my hand >> with me, dude. I didn't have a warrant. >> This guy, I haven't talked to you in months. >> I don't have a warrant, dude. >> You do? Let's just say the cops have heard that tune too many times to be surprised. It's the unofficial soundtrack of Resistance. >> I didn't even know. I don't know. I just recorded. >> I'm really out of breath. I need oxygen. >> Like, oh, give me two seconds. I'll put her in cuffs. She'll pick up running. got it. >> How's your paperwork going? How we doing, man? >> Back at the station, [music] her tough act starts to crumble. She talks about her daughter, her family, and fears for the future. Her voice cracking under the weight of panic. It's clear she's beginning to understand what's coming. >> You know, I got I got this. Okay, I know you rightly person. Did you get out the door? Oh, yeah. How the hell happened to do that? It's not going to work. I have to go home. [clears throat] Jessica admits to using meth. Her words scattered, emotions raw. It's a textbook [music] case of dependency, erratic behavior, resistance, emotional volatility. It's not just an arrest. It's a window into the vicious cycle of addiction. >> Call one service number. [snorts] >> Just if you relax, they're going to let you. They're going to let you out in a couple minutes. Okay. >> Relax. The assault case moves [music] forward while the drug investigation remains open. But now she's facing a legal double whammy. Assault and meth. Without serious intervention, the chances of reoffending are dangerously high. On August 30th, 2022, police were called to a bus station after an employee reported a woman [music] causing a scene. She'd missed her bus, and instead of walking away, she made noise, demanded to see a manager, [music] and flat out refused to leave despite repeated warnings. What happened next? Let's take a look. No, because you never came to talk to another person. The first thing he did was come over. >> I can't leave till my bus comes. These people refuse to talk to me like a human being. So, I have to cause a whole >> No, cuz I was at the window for an hour talking >> Can I stand in the middle of the road? >> I'm not going to leave. >> What do you mean? I just need to know because I This man is on the phone with Super Come talk. I've been at the window for an hour. This is what I have to do. I have to pause. >> Listen, you see where you see where I'm wearing the bottom of my >> I'm trying to help you and for me to help you. For me to help you, I'm not going to stand in front of no buses. >> For you to help me, I have to You're not That's not going to help. That's not yours is not going to be >> But you just said you were trying to help me, right? >> Exactly. So I'm trying to help you. >> I did all of that. So when I was at the window politely speaking Exactly. Because that's how you get a supervisor because when I was standing there Yes. Leave. >> She refused to leave. Do you want Do you want to leave me? Please do. >> If you I'm going to let you right now. If you refuse to leave, you are subject to arrest. >> Please do. Thank you, >> sir. We can talk over there now that I've stood here for an hour and all. I just But I did because I spent over an hour asking for a minute. So if you want to argue with me, I can back in front of this bus again cuz I'm not here. I will go to jail. That's what I need you to understand. >> Thank you. Physically remove me. >> Remove me. I'm not. >> Put your hands back. >> No. >> Okay. >> Yep. >> You're going to have to walk me cuz what are you doing? >> This is a lot easier, isn't it? >> Put your hands back. >> No. >> No. For what? >> You're not my damn daddy. >> Just wait. Just wait. Does he make any more D? >> Furious over missing her ride, the woman blames the bus staff for not helping her. But rather [music] than stay calm, she lashes out. Loud, aggressive, and pointing fingers at everyone. Even the officers begin to lose patience. >> You there's so many people they can't even all get on the bus. >> I don't care. Why are you still trying to go back and forth with me like a kid? You're an adult, right? You're doing your job to shut the up like him. Record like him. Just record him. Put your hands behind your back. >> You refuse. Put your hands behind your back. That is resisting. >> Put your hands behind your back now. >> Break my break. >> No. >> Exactly. So now put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands back. Stop. Look at you. >> Stop. >> Come on. >> Stop. Stop. Stop. Let go. Let go. Stop resisting. >> Let go. There we go. Put on my radio. Hey, stop. In her mind, the only way to get what she wants is to throw a public tantrum. But when the cuffs come out, she resists hard, [music] kicking, twisting, refusing to cooperate. Officers are forced to use stronger physical restraint to bring her under control. >> Stephanie whacked me >> multiple times. >> You got a car? >> Yes, I have a car. >> Can I get glass money so I can search her? I'll throw her in the car. Do you need a medical petition, ma'am? >> Oh, you don't need it. All right. >> 95900. North. Instead of getting tresassed after warning, you're getting battery on >> for something. It could have avoided you. It would have been. >> Well played. Well played. Well played. RCR need a sergeant or no? >> Yeah. Call your >> stupid. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. >> Hey, stop. Calm down. >> You too. >> Calm down. 500 yard. >> I'm just wiping my face. your emergency address. >> Even while being escorted to the patrol car, she keeps lashing out, taunting, arguing, showing zero remorse. It's a classic power play, trying to win back control with words, even as she's already lost the battle. an immediate channel 30 and south. >> Stop resisting. Stop resisting. This way. >> Black jacket line. Somebody get a statement from security. All right. >> Sure. You want to cut back? >> I'm going to buy you a bag. >> Social security. >> Yeah. All right. seat. >> No, I just need this five. >> I already I can't breathe with the door shut. Wendy, Sergeant, we were Orlando police. What happened today? >> You want the whole story or the part that got me arrested or >> whatever you want to tell me? >> When it finally hits her that things have spiraled, she scrambles to explain her outburst, but it's no use. Every word, every move is on body cam, and no amount of backpedaling can change what's already been recorded. They wanted to push me and force me to sit down. And that's where things got to be a problem. Okay, yeah, I get I have an attitude, whatever. But that does not give you the right to put your hands on someone. He is not my father. He cannot force me to sit down. And you guys may think you have the right to force someone to sit down, but you don't. Like, I don't care what where y'all wrote that [ __ ] You don't. Like, you really don't have that. And that's where when he pushed me down, he caused me to hit my head on that pole. And that's when I started swinging. Like, I blacked out. I don't I don't do that. I didn't put my hands on him. I didn't put my hands on anybody. I may have been rude. I may have been very disrespectful and that's that. But that does not give you the right to put your hands on anymore to force me to sit down. So he kept trying to bag me up into that spot and when I refused to sit down, he tried to yank me down and push me into the pole. That's not He could have spoken to me multiple times, even if I was loud, even if I was like, you know, like there was points where I was waiting for him to speak to me like a person. Like that's what I'm saying. And then when you're saying stuff that has nothing to do with the situation at hand, I'll fight you. I don't you don't want to talk to you anymore. And that made him upset. So, he felt like he needed to force me to sit down. And I'm pretty sure his body camera will show that. And that's that's where we're going with this. Just look at the body camera. >> When they're conducting investigations, they can tell you to sit down. That's within their rights. Actually, yes, I am evidence. >> I'm listening to you, but that's not >> you're can't take my rights away. >> Oh, he was. was when he forced me to sit down and we if he's conducting an investigation >> I don't know what the crime was here but he's under invest in investigation he's within his rights to have you sit down >> okay that's where judge go back and forth like I said I'm just meeting you >> right now >> okay I'm here to Turn around real quick. >> Do me a favor. You got a tiny wrist. Try to get out of those five minutes. All right. All right, man. >> The woman was arrested and charged [music] with trespassing, resisting arrest, and assaulting a law enforcement officer. While simple battery on an officer can be a misdemeanor with up to one year in jail and $2,000 in fines under Florida law, it can also be charged as a thirdderee felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison, 5 years probation, and up to $5,000 in fines. On January 13th, 2024, police are dispatched [music] to a hotel after a group of drunk wedding guests refused to leave the bar well past closing time. Staff were overwhelmed, powerless. >> [music] >> What followed turned this wedding night into a memory no one would forget for all the wrong reasons. >> I don't know that. So, what's going on? Why Why can't you guys leave? >> Okay. Nice to meet you. >> Huh? >> Nice to meet you. >> Nice to meet you. Um, they've been asking you to leave. Why? Why aren't you leaving? >> Yes. We said that we have to leave then. >> Uh-huh. Okay. >> Okay. We We are going to leave. >> Okay. Do you guys have a room here? >> Yeah. >> Yes, >> we have a weddings. It's I'm French so my good but >> you guys have a room at this hotel. Yes. >> Okay. So, just go on your room. >> We can't invite the bathroom. >> We can't invite you to the weddings, but it's okay for us. >> Okay, >> I'll wait for her. >> Thank you. >> Thanks. for us. >> Yes. Thank you. >> The other guys leave. >> Thank you. >> Go to your room. >> Sorry for >> That's okay. >> Just when they leave and it's time to clean up, it's time to go to your rooms and tell us to go to our room. We're adults as you are an adult. >> Okay. >> Go to your room. me to get trespassed. >> No, I'm sorry. >> Don't you start. Please put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. Put your hands behind your back. Put your hands behind your back. >> He could freeze. He could freeze. >> It's okay. Don't think. Okay. Don't forget doctor thing could please. >> Despite multiple warnings, the [music] group refused to leave. Under trespassing laws that gave officers full authority to act. One woman ordered to put her hands behind her back chose to resist instead. Within seconds, she was taken down on the spot. >> Stand up. 1. She just said battery on a law enforcement. >> Well, she pushed the cop. So, >> what? >> Where's she can't punch a cop? >> She's a woman. She's okay. >> Can't punch a cop. >> I did not punch a cop. >> Yes, you did. >> No, I didn't. >> No. No. No. No. No. No. No. I did not. >> Go with the cop, please. >> I punched a punch. >> Cop. Stop. What's going to be worse? >> I did not punch a cop. >> Punch a cup means on the face. like one smile and the face. Please let me go. I'm sorry. I did not punch a couple. >> Okay, we'll talk about >> I did not. >> Okay, you're French. Sit. >> Take a seat. >> What happened? >> Sit down. Okay. >> What happened? >> What? >> Sit down. >> For once. >> My son just got married. >> Okay. Well, >> what is wrong with you? >> What's wrong with me? >> Yes. >> Okay. Take her. Take her. >> Because for what? >> Wait. Wait. Wait. that white. >> You would touch me, you're going to jail. You understand that? >> I'm sorry. I have a I have a a [laughter] >> Okay. >> Why are you >> wrong with you? >> No. Get away from her or you're going to go to jail. situation. Who's going to sign? My partner will put them in my car for me. You're going in my car right now. Got it. >> Come on. >> Oh my goodness. that back. >> No. >> Well, you're going to go to jail, too. >> Really? >> Yes, you are for obstructing. >> Yes. Say stop. Okay. >> Others in the group pushed back, clinging to some fantasy of tourist [music] privilege. But the officers stayed calm, firm, and focused, reminding everyone that the law doesn't bend for out oftowners with too much cash and too little sense. >> Can you accept me to take Fisher? >> One second. Let's Dude, let us do our job. Good. Good job. >> All right. Stop obstructing. >> We are sitting together. The wedding of her son and you're taking me to jail outside. >> I'm telling you again son's wedding and they're taking me to jail. >> Yes, you are. Because you committed battery on a law enforcement officer. Do not touch me. >> Okay. Don't forget you have a little lower. You are going to get pepper sprayed if you do not walk with us. >> Because they're asking because her >> drag her. >> Are you serious? You are a disgrace to this. >> Why? What have I done now? Okay, go. You have a brain. >> Wait, can I tell you something else? >> She's going to jail. >> She's going to jail for what? >> She's going to jail. Speak to jail. Get away. >> Get away. What did you want to understand? What? What is the problem? We don't have to answer 11. >> Did she hit you? She hit me. She hit you. >> No. No. >> No. >> You have a little power. >> You need bandage. >> Hey, I don't care. >> Hey, I need you to walk away. We're investigating something. >> It's been you that French. >> I don't care. >> Yeah, you don't care. My deputies are investigating something right now and you are obstructing it. Do you understand? >> I need you to walk away. I need to talk to them. >> I need to talk to them. >> No matter [music] where you're from or where you're headed, the first thing you should pack isn't your passport. It's your respect. Traveling without basic decency. Do us all a favor and stay home. In unfamiliar territory, knowing the rules isn't optional. It's your responsibility. >> No. No. waiting tonight. No. No. What did we do? We spent $70,000 and then >> Oh, I just need >> We spend $1,000 at the bar tonight and you arrest him. No, >> no. I'm sorry. >> It's okay. >> My glasses. Can you guys my glasses? Go. >> Where are your glasses? >> In my head. >> Where? >> In my head. >> In your hand? >> Yeah. >> I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. It's okay for me. Calm down. It's okay. >> You need your glasses? >> Yeah. >> Right now. >> I can't comprehend it. I can't >> hang. I can't be so sad. Run. >> Okay. >> Please. Please. >> You're being stop. It's going to get worse. >> All right. It's going to get worse. I'm not playing around. I told you many times. >> Please. Why? Why am I >> Okay, let me explain. Let me explain. In Florida. Okay, you're not allowed to hit a deputy officer. It's a felony. She's going to jail. Listen, she's going to jail for that. Okay, but because he wasn't listening and he kept getting into our investigation, >> we had to take him away. Okay, we asked you multiple times. So, please give us a minute, right? Cuz I don't know what's going on. I just showed up. My deputy just got hurt. I don't know if he needs EMS. I was in the bus. >> Yes, but you're not also not helping. Okay, ma'am. I'm just I'm praying for me. >> They looked wealthy. They acted entitled. Maybe they thought being international big spenders would buy them a pass. But in Florida, the law doesn't care about your zip code. It only cares what you do. And if you act like you're above the law, sooner or later it'll bring you down to earth. on my son's wedding. She's like >> on my son's wedding. My son is inside with I have three kids. They're all waiting for me inside. >> Why would Why would you make such a comment like that? because I'm an idiot. And I said, "My best girlfriend, seriously, she just flew in." >> And now you just made a comment that I take very serious and I haven't. >> So, we're going to get you the help that you need. Okay. >> What help? I don't need any help. >> You might need some mental help. Absolutely. >> I do. >> You just said that you wanted to >> That's a joke. >> You said it. Okay. We take it very We take it very serious. Okay. >> All right. >> All right. >> But because because you're intoxicated, we're going to go ahead and call EMS. >> Okay. Well, she hit me. >> She hit us. >> You can't hit a You can't hit a cop. >> That's a felony. >> Because you scared. >> Okay. Does [ __ ] I'm doing my job. So she hits a cop. >> You scare her. >> You can't hit a cop. Cuz being disorderly >> going at screaming at them is considered disorderly conduct. And if they are disturbed because of your disorderly conduct, you can also go to jail, too. >> Absolutely. >> I've been since it's been fun. My son is celebrating his wedding here. >> And I'm here. I'm pathetic. >> Why? >> I'm going to talk to you over here. >> You have to hand me face. >> The main suspect was charged with felony battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting [music] arrest, and failure to comply. These charges carry the risk of jail time, probation, and mandatory substance abuse or mental health treatment. In this case, she received 11 months and 29 days of suspended sentence. But any slip up could land her back under tight supervision. On May 13th, 2023, police were called to Carlsbad Medical Center after a wild fight broke out in the lobby between two women. One of them was Jackie Crump, clearly drunk and wrestling her own daughter over car keys. But that was just the tip of the iceberg in a much messier story. >> She was drunk at work. >> No, nobody was drunk at work, bro. >> Carl, this is going to be reference to calling Ash. >> The off me. What did I say? Get the off me. >> Enough. Enough. Enough. >> Get the off me. >> Stop. >> No. Chill. Listen to nothing, bro. >> Okay. >> Stop. Don't >> give me your keys. Do everything else, >> please. >> Just take the key. [snorts] >> This is embarrassing. I'm sorry, guys. >> No, she's fine. You have to go to work. She just let her go home. >> She has to go to work. No, this whole town is [ __ ] bro. >> Hey, what is your name? >> My name is Jackie. >> Bro, >> just hang out. It's fine. I'm just just chill. Okay. >> For what? Just chill out for a second. Just chill. All right. You can cry. It's You can be upset. It's fine. >> All right. Now, >> stop it. Stop it. Now we're done. So, you had your opportunity to calm down. Now, we're going the other way. Okay. Walk over here with me. Huh? See what you did. Stupid. >> What's wrong? >> No. What do you mean? What's wrong? >> You can barely stand up. What's wrong with you? >> What do you mean? >> You can barely stand. You've been drinking. What's going on? Tell me about what happened at work. Tell me what happened. All right. What I'm going to do is I'm going to turn you around. I'm going to let you lean up against my car. Okay. Jackie was completely out of control, screaming, [music] grabbing at her daughter and lashing out at officers when they tried to step in. Her judgment was shot while her daughter had to stay strong and somehow deal with the chaos her own mother had brought on. She called me when she was at work. She was there for not even an hour. She called me and she's can't even talk. And so I go over there and she can't talk. She can't control her limbs. So, I took her to my aunts and I called the the hospital. They came to check her vitals and there was cops there and they told me that I need to take her medications. She definitely needs medical or something. I don't know. I'm talk. Take a deep breath for me. So, you two are the phys. >> Okay. How old are you? >> I'm 20. >> 20. Yes, I'm her daughter. >> You want to pursue charges on her? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. So, >> she's heavily intoxicated right now. >> Yes. >> And you were just trying to get over here to Why is she start? >> Um, she doesn't want to cuz she's just she doesn't I don't know. I don't know. She's not in her right. just never acted like they they said someone at her job gave her something to drink and then she was out from there. >> Okay. >> Out here. She's trying to figure out exactly what's going on and why she feels that she would need to get you some milk. >> For what? >> I don't know. Dude, what did I do? >> She feels that something happened at work to make you act the way you're acting right now. >> She feels that probably the way that you're acting right now is outside of your normal character. Oh yeah, >> that's what I'm assuming. >> Let me tell you what. >> Okay, tell me. >> I've been drugged three times and raped twice. How about you tell me how the I'm acting different? >> I don't know. I don't know you. >> This ain't compared to nothing. >> Okay. >> This ain't compared to nothing. Calm the down. >> Okay. >> Well, go home. >> Okay. >> And you're trying to fight over what? >> I don't know. >> Over what? >> I don't know. That's why I'm here to try to >> Oh, you going through some Huh? >> Oh, you're Oh, she is. But this is >> She's the one that's feels that you need help. That's what we're trying to figure out what you need help for. >> Okay. >> As officers gathered statements, they learned from Javanni that Jackie wasn't just drunk. She may have been under the influence of something else, too. Meanwhile, Jackie's rambling and inconsistent stories showed she might not have been totally out of it. Just trying to throw everyone off. >> People at work said she only had one drink. >> Who gave it to her? You know, >> someone says it was another bartender. Someone said it was the other one. Someone said it was a drink and someone said it was a bottle. And then someone tried to say, "Oh, she brought alcohol from home." But we don't have alcohol in our home. >> She only drink a lot. >> This is what I'm going to offer. It's It's by no means a a have to. Okay. I'm going to ask you if you want to go in there and see a doctor. >> No. Okay. >> I'm not drugged, bro. She's tripping. >> Okay. >> She's tripping. >> Okay. There's no need to yell. You and I are having a conversation. We can hear each other just fine right here. Okay. >> Yeah. She needs to know she's tripping. >> Okay. How much did you drink before you went to work? >> I don't know. >> A lot. A little. >> Not enough. >> Not enough. >> I'm going to think I was drugged. >> Okay. All right. So, do you know what year it is? >> Yeah. >> What year is it? >> 2023. >> You know who the president is? >> Yeah. >> Who is the president? >> Not my vote. >> Mine either. But who is the president? >> Biden. >> Okay. Do you know where you're at? what city you're in. >> All right. So, what we can offer is we can give you a ride home. Okay. All right. That way we avoid the conflict with you and your daughter. Okay? Because of your intoxicated state, I don't want you having control of your vehicle. Okay? Because if something happens and somebody gets hurt, I don't want you to get in trouble. >> Okay? >> So, we'll give you a ride home. Okay? Your daughter's going to maintain control of your vehicle until you sober up. And >> she going to follow. Yeah, I'll have her follow you home and stay there with you if you need to or whatever. Okay. Uh we kind of figured that was what was going to happen, but she knows what year it is. She knows where she's at. She knows who the president is. Like there's no indications outside of the fact that she's really drunk. >> Okay. >> That would lead me to believe that people are taking herself. She's homicidal suicidal. >> I did tell her that you're going to maintain control of the vehicle based on the fact that she's intoxicated. Uh and I don't want her having control. All right. Um, what I would suggest is that you follow her home. You can park the vehicle there, take the keys that way. >> Trying to deescalate the situation, police decided to take Jackie home instead of booking her right away. A kind and flexible choice. But the second they got there, things exploded again. Jackie's granddaughter was waiting and the tension snapped instantly. >> Why do you want me to get check? >> Cuz you're saying you're drugged. >> No, I wasn't saying I I was drugged. Ask this guy. So, what happened? >> She was saying drink. >> We were chilling. We were chilling. We were fine. I don't know where her >> I came out here. >> I don't want her here though because like she she's obviously aggressive and I'm not >> Get out. Come on. You're not going to push my grandma in the face like I did. >> Get out. >> Come on. >> Get out. under the battery. >> Jan's want to get back. >> I watched you touch her. >> I went like >> I watched you touch her. >> I said good. >> Okay, >> you can you can calm down or I can take you to the ground. >> We're going home. >> No, you're going to jail. >> For what? >> For battery. I watched >> I didn't do anything to >> I just watched you. >> I said how slap her in the face. >> I didn't slap her. I went like this. No, I just watched you. >> This is trippy. >> I watched you shove that wheelchair out of the way and hit her in the face. >> I said happy mother's day and I moved. >> Put your hands behind your back. Okay, I'm done playing nice. Get up against the car. Let's go. >> Battery on a household member of the story. >> Do I see her? Slap her in the face. Get in the wheelchair and then went like this to her. No, she shoved the wheelchair, got in my face, but no, she did not hit me. She >> Grammy, >> we were slashing. >> We watched her. She went like this to you. >> Maybe she did, but not really hard. >> Yeah, she did not put a hand on me. >> No, I'm not drunk. I'm not under drugs, >> Grammy. I literally >> I saw it, Graham. We know you love her. We know. But come on, be realistic right now. >> True. >> She did not hit me. >> Okay. Well, here here's the problem. >> It still happened in my presence. Okay. It still happened in my presence. So, she's going to jail until Monday. >> Okay. If you >> if you choose not to press charges later or to cooperate. >> Don't put that on the report. >> That's why I have to put it on the report because I witnessed it. >> Yes, I will. >> You can't you can't lie, Grammy. I'm not lying. She did not hit me. >> Oh, she didn't hit you, but she went like this to you. She put her hands on me. When officers actually saw Jackie attack a family member with their own eyes, everything changed. She was cuffed and taken back to the hospital for medical clearance before going to jail. Even then, she kept yelling, cursing, and resisting. Still totally out of control. >> I swear to go tell my niece how to >> What do you want me to do? >> I want you to walk into the ER. >> Amen. Let's go. >> I'm not playing games with you. >> No, I'm not playing games with you either. You're not going to play with >> Quit or you're going to catch another charge. >> Quit. Are you going to catch another charge for resisting? >> Officer Peacock eventually got Jackie through those doors. The obstacles didn't stop there. >> Can you please get this guy the out of here, please? >> Why? >> Cuz he's the only available officer. >> Show him your video and get the on. >> Unlawful application. Of course. >> Get the out of here, bro. You're going to call >> I've been a good mom for 20 years. Get the out of here, peacock. I didn't do >> to my mom. You are nobody. >> And you know it. Don't look at me all stupid. Get the Hello. >> I'm Dr. Carl. How you doing? >> Can you test me for like drugs, alcohol, and then some and like abusive force and all kinds of other things that Mr. Peacock believes I did? Cuz this dude's getting the out of my face. I got to spend a whole 36 hours in prison because of this mother. >> Maybe it could be your actions, too. >> Oh, maybe. Possibly. >> Possibly. >> I brought you over here to be medically cleared. The doctor >> brought me over here to be medically cleared for alcohol and some more. >> Okay. Well, the doctor just cleared you. >> No. What do you mean he cleared you? >> That was the doctor you were talking to. It's not about whether or not you have it in your system. It's whether or not you're medically able to be in jail. Okay. The doctor has cleared you. We need to walk you back out to the unit. Okay. >> You ready? >> Just put the shoe down. Just stop. There we go. >> All right. What's your name? >> Why did she have a name? >> No. Why does he have a camera on me? Because it's for >> Well, then I want to turn it on. >> What's your name? >> I'm arrested under illegal pretenses by JP unlawful force of battery when I get my mom to do little snacks on the chicken. I love you. >> What's your name? >> No. I love you, baby. Not with that camera on. >> Okay. Eventually, Jackie was taken to jail and charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest. She spent two nights behind bars, but in the end, all the charges were dropped, so no official punishment was ever handed down. On April 26th, 2022, a police officer in New Jersey was monitoring traffic when the automated license plate reader, ALPR, [music] flagged a vehicle with a suspended registration. The officer initiated a traffic stop and the driver was identified as Jenny Rose Key Saunders. As the officer approached the vehicle, things started to escalate and this is what happened next. ma'am. Open the window. >> All right, man. Officer Balls, our Scotsman, please. Your license registration insurance. >> Yeah. Yeah. Thank you. I I'm >> You have your license You have your license registration to your insurance? >> Yes, not a problem. Your license, registration, and insurance. If you don't comply, I will break the window and you will be placed under arrest. Do you understand that? >> Ma'am, >> open the window. >> Ma'am, step out of the vehicle. At first, the woman seemed cooperative, but then she [music] started stalling. Instead of following simple instructions, she fumbled with her phone, trying to call someone to ensure her safety. The officer remained patient, giving her multiple chances to comply before taking further action. And then she made one of the dumbest decisions possible. She resisted. >> Sorry, I'm trying to I'm trying to call someone to make sure that I'm safe. >> Get out of the vehicle. You are safe. Stop. >> I don't feel safe. I do not feel safe. >> Don't trap my >> Don't trap my arm. >> Whoa. What are you doing? >> Hey, ma'am. Lower the window. You're going to hurt this. >> Lower your window. >> Ma'am, lower window. >> Lower your window with your other arm. >> Ma'am, lower window. >> Lower your window with your other arm. >> Lower your window with your other arm. You >> got to punch on this. >> No. >> Ma'am, >> lower your window. Under arrest now. >> Why? What am I doing? >> Raise the window. And officer, can we open? I didn't realize you could put my >> Can we open this door? >> Why are you guys doing this right now? >> You're under arrest. >> What did I do? Can you tell me what I did? >> You're arrested for aggravated assault against a police officer. >> Can you tell me what I did? You're under arrest. You're under arrest. >> You're under arrest. >> Step out of the car. Step out of the car. Out of the car. >> Turn around. >> Under arrest for what? Can you >> aggravated assault? >> How is there aggravated assault? Could you please tell me >> when you when the officer tells you to open the door and has to put his arm through the window and then you you >> Why is his arm going through my room? >> Just pat her down real quick. Make sure >> you want. >> Yeah. Pat her down real quick. Yeah. Search her now. >> Serious right now? >> Yeah. You're under arrest. >> Do you have a mother? Do you have a sister? >> We're past that already. You're under arrest for aggravated assault. He told you multiple times to lower your window, open the door, and then when he put that >> put his arm through your window and you raised the intentionally raised the window and then hurt this officer, now you're under arrest for aggra. And plus, >> you are accusing me of something I did not do. >> You're not. You're under arrest. >> Yeah, I'm >> You're under arrest. >> Trapping an officer's arm in a car window. That's not just defiance. It's dangerous. [music] If she had suddenly hit the gas, that could have caused serious injury or even death. Which one's your car, Mike? >> 32 38. >> Let me check. They're good. >> Yeah, she didn't have any pockets on. >> Okay. >> Does this coat have any pockets? >> I'm bleeding on my hand, too. Yeah, >> with the broken. >> Hey, just watch out with the broken glass, too. >> We have here. >> Are you guys serious? >> Step into the vehicle. Watch your head. >> Yeah. So, can I >> step into the vehicle and watch your head? >> Come on. >> Step into the vehicle and watch your head. >> Let me get the book on. >> Can you tell me what I'm arrested for? >> Assault. >> I need Hold on. >> Get back in. >> Get back in the car. Back in the car. >> Get back in the car. Come on. >> Turn around. >> Four. Four of you guys now, huh? Five. Five of you guys. So, you're not giving me any chance to retrieve my stuff or >> make sure my things are okay? >> Stay there. >> Why? You're not going to tell me why I was pulled over to be >> Watch your foot. Watch your foot. You explain everything. Just watch your foot. >> No, you're not. You're not explaining. >> Can I help you, sir? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Take your hands out of your pocket for me. >> Appreciate it. Okay. She's under arrest right now. And then >> when she when she is released, when she gets out, she can give you a call. >> Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> Okay. Gibson, please get back to your car now. This is a crime scene. >> We're good. Thank you. >> Where is he? >> Yeah. We're going to wait. >> Yeah. >> Hey, bud. Just watch him. He was with her. >> I don't need him coming back to the scene over here. Is he 100? >> He can leave actually, bud. >> We're going to get him get him back into get her back into headquarters. >> Um, just wait for whoever that unit is. >> Saunders was taken to the police station, but she didn't stop there. She kept arguing, pushing back against officers verbally, still refusing to accept reality. >> I'm just not indulging somebody who keeps repeating themselves. So, you can stop. If you want to keep going, you can, but you're not going to get anything out of me. So, >> okay. Well, I don't have to. I don't have to have a conversation with you. >> Ma'am, you don't, >> ma'am. I don't need advice. >> No, I'm not asking. >> I'm not asking you for your advice is what I'm saying. Okay. Thank you. Step out of the All right, sit down. How did that happen? I I don't know. I don't know. Thank you. Step up. Wait. You're going to walk up the stairs. Step to the right. Not up. Step to the right. >> I said step to the right. Not step up. >> Maybe search. Now take the handcuffs off. You're going to put both hands on the wall. Do you understand? Okay. Turn around. Face the wall. Hand on the wall, please. Thank you. Move your jacket, please. >> Can you hold here so it doesn't I don't I have to put it down. It's an option. Put your hand against the wall. Do >> you guys playing? >> Put your hands against the wall. On the wall. >> On them. >> I really do not. >> All right. Do you want to get obstruction too? Put your feet They're not following instructions. Is your problem on the wall? >> No, they're not. They're not touching. Put them >> Put them on the wall. I'm not going to tell you again. >> So, could you clean it for me, please? >> Do you? No. >> Put your hands on I'm putting them on the wall. >> Ma'am, I'm not going to have you. >> They're not moving. I don't want your shirt. I want No. Put your hands on the wall now. I'm not asking you a question. >> Place your arms on the wall. If I have to hold it, I will hold it when I'm done. >> Yes, sir. >> And then things got worse. [music] A background check revealed that she had an active warrant out of Branchburg, New Jersey, plus an extradition warrant from Pennsylvania. That meant one thing. No bail, no release, [music] straight to lockup. Drop dead. Spread your legs. Thank you. Keep them on the wall. Keep them. >> Keep them on the wall. You guys are fired. That's right. We're ridiculous. Can you tell me why I got pulled over? We >> I already explained that to you. That's >> You said cuz >> you play and you have a warrant. >> It's It's that simple. It's not our fault. We're not the one that put the warrant on you. We didn't arrest you whenever you got arrested. That's not on us. >> When I got arrested on this on you, this is on you right now. >> No. Well, you got arrested before. >> Take a seat. I'm sure take off. >> My socks off. >> Correct. >> Is this your first time being arrested? >> No, it's not. >> Okay. So, you should look away with this. Let me see on your feet. Please put your socks back on. You can put your shoes back on. >> What were you arrested for before? probably the reason you left the worm in my face. >> Is there a reason why I have any process? >> You're under. It would have been just for the for the uh for the warrant you had. But this would have been for just for the warrant you had and obviously closing the window on an officer. It's not all the progressions and such. >> Do you know what the warrants were? >> Um I think it's what I have court for in a couple weeks. I think for uh >> So why? >> Cuz I got in December. I I don't know. I don't know. >> It's for failing to appear for >> So why not? So why not just >> So it's for something I have court for already set to appear because you didn't go to court. >> Yeah, but they have a new court date set. >> Understood. until then because you didn't go the first time. You get a warrant and all it would have been was you getting out of here in 2 hours, some paperwork, and that's it. >> I'm going to pee on your chair right now. You got >> You need to urinate right now. >> I told you I just I I mean, >> right. Well, you also said a lot of things, so I didn't know if it was just a ploy or if you wanted to just argue or I was speaking to you calmly and kindly and you just escalated everything. So, excuse me for not believing it in the beginning. I was trying to stand up to you calmly as well. And that's why I'm just confused as what's going on here, guys. I figured you guys I mean by the end of the night, two officers had to be treated at the hospital for minor injuries. As for Saunders, she was hit with multiple charges, including aggravated assault on an officer, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice [music] on top of her existing warrants. If convicted, she's looking at years behind bars. So, what happens when Karen thinks she can fight the law and loses? >> So, who's here today with you? >> Me and my three kids. >> At 6:00 a.m. in Tampa, Florida, an urgent 911 call from 18-year-old Natavia Sanders brought officers racing to the scene. She claimed her own mother had choked her unconscious. But when police stepped inside that house, the truth turned out to be far more twisted than anyone expected. >> Okay. Do you have any unit letter or number? >> Okay. And what's going on? >> I'm just showing you strangled, but I just woke up from >> Okay. I'm sorry. What happened? >> I was strangled. >> Okay. By who? >> I'm sorry. By who? >> Is she still there? How long ago did this happen? >> This happened like 34 minutes ago. I just woke up. I know you're in the home. Just come to the door. >> Was it out? And then I couldn't tell if it was screaming upstairs or where it was. Look, the couches are up on the on the wall. You see this? Like up here? See this? >> Yeah. >> Almost like not parachute, but >> you heard screaming. >> Just hear a scream for help or something. >> Police department. Tampa, police, >> come downstairs. >> Even though the victim had called 911 saying she'd been strangled and then suddenly hung up, officers didn't break down the door despite hearing screams inside. When they ordered someone to come out, Roa Sylvius, 38 years old and Natavia's mother, came out fighting tooth and nail. >> We got a call for service here. Not here. >> Lady, don't play the game. You didn't even do that. >> Don't do this. >> Never. >> Ma'am, stop. Stop it. You're not going to stop us entering the house. >> I didn't do that. >> Ma'am, stop fighting. >> Ma'am, open the door. >> Stop. >> All right. 31. Come in the truck. >> Ma'am, stop resisting us. Stop resisting us. We're here for a lawful reason. Okay. [ __ ] >> Look on my Facebook, >> man. We got somebody on the floor, bro. 67, bro. >> Right here, man. >> Okay. >> Kitchen. Not responsive at all here. Possibly choke out [clears throat] maybe a very >> Let them do their job. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Try to keep as many people out as we can. Let fire do what they got to do. And then we're going to roast this. >> Step out. Oh my goodness. Step out, ma'am. Come on. Come on. Come on. You think I'm mad? No. >> Huh? >> No. What's wrong with you? The moment police found Natavia unconscious on the floor was the clearest sign of how serious things had gotten. As her daughter was rushed to the hospital, Rotasa started acting bizarre, uncooperative, faking seizures, and passing out in the back of the patrol car. Something exactly what she said. We'll just have her. Don't let her go. All right. Go for it back in. That was something. >> Oh, yeah. >> Okay. Who do you live here with? >> Me and my children. >> Your children? The small children? Like the babies? I seen one or two little babies. Uh what about the the other person there? >> No, I have three kids. >> You have three kids. How old are your kids? How old are they? >> Nine, three, and four >> today with you. >> Me and my three kids. >> You and your three kids. Okay. The three and fouryear-old, were they upstairs? >> Okay. And then where's your nine? Where's your nine-year-old? They're all upstairs. >> They're all upstairs. >> We were all up there. >> Okay. >> We just got up and I was going to give them a bag. >> Who uh who's in the kitchen? >> Later, when asked about her kids, Rotessa gave conflicting answers and flat out denied Natavia was even in the house. Every word was caught on body cam, and it became key evidence showing she was trying to hide the truth, building a strong case for criminal charges. >> Can I see the fire department? Do you want them to check you out? >> I'm fine. I just want my kids. >> She's fine. >> I don't know what happened. Like, >> you want me just to take vitals of her or something? >> If you're talking to me, I didn't hear you. >> I mean, since fire's here, should we just set eyes on her? >> Like, all right. >> We're just going to have fire just look at you. Make sure everything's good. >> Okay. who went to the hospital just now. Do you know >> who who is that? >> Oh, you have four kids. Okay. What was that daughter's name? >> Natavia. >> In the back of the squad car, her story kept changing. First, she denied Natavia was her daughter, then admitted it later. That kind of back and forth made it clear she wasn't being honest and she had something to hide. >> Thank you. I appreciate it. Take your hands up just a little bit. Send the bike. >> She does want to be seen by medics. >> You just told them you didn't want to see him. >> Hey Now she wants to see you guys. Even then, Rotessa kept insisting she never meant to hurt anybody. But 2 days later, Natavia died at the hospital. The medical examiner confirmed the injuries matched signs of strangulation. An undeniable truth. Okay. >> Okay. They they could treat it when you get there. There's a doctor there that could treat you. >> Well, we can't treat it. >> Okay. >> I know, man. But I see the scrape and stuff like that. That's what I'm saying. They're going to take a X-ray. They can do all that stuff there. >> I don't need a X-ray. I just need this looked at. I mean, what do you want me to The only thing I can give you is a band-aid for that, man. I'm not a hospital. I'm just >> This is it. Jesus wants us to go. >> Yeah. They looked at it. >> She looked at it, >> right? What do you want them to do? >> He just said that I could go to the ER and they'll give me extra. >> No, you will do that at the jail. >> They have Yeah, the Orient jail has a whole medical staff there that Yeah, we're not going to the hospital. >> Yeah. So, is there anything else you need then for ma'am? >> Okay. Sorry. I give you a band. >> Even after being booked, Rotessa kept demanding medical care. Even though jail staff had already explained her rights, whether it was stubbornness or a lastditch attempt to stall her detention, it didn't change what was coming. She was originally charged with resisting [music] arrest with violence and aggravated battery, but after Natavia's death, those charges were upgraded to first-degree murder. In Florida, that means one of two outcomes: life behind bars or the death penalty. On August 9th, 2023 in New Jersey, police took notice of Mariah Labriola after spotting her swerving through traffic, brake lights out, nearly causing a wreck. The signs were clear. Something was seriously off. But once they pulled her over, a much bigger truth started to come to light. >> Man, I'm Sergeant Hanland with the West Lanch Police Department. Just so you know, >> right? >> No, just so you know, I'm wearing the body camera. Everything's out of uh audio and video recorded. Reason why I pulled you over is you're swerving over the yellow center line. You have a brake light that's out. >> I'm aware of the brake light. >> Where you coming from? >> Home. >> Where's home? And where you heading to? >> My mom's house. Okay. And what's this address in Long Branch here? >> That's my old address. >> Okay. So, you don't live there anymore? >> I'm going to Cedar. >> You're going to And who lives on Cedar? >> My mother. 31. >> Okay. Hang up the phone, exit your vehicle, and step behind the vehicle. >> Step behind the vehicle. >> Reason why I have you out of the vehicle is cuz again, like I said, you're swerving all over the road. You're crossing over the center line. You actually almost hit me head on as I was coming up Mammoth Road. >> I'm sorry. >> Uh texting regardless. I mean, anything. I mean, obviously, you can't be doing that when you're driving. Okay. And then there was a second time when I was behind you. You also crossed over the center line. I had my camera activated and got everything on camera. All right. So, >> so all right. Do it here. Just stand on the sidewalk. I just want to turn off my front overhead light so that there's no kind of confusion for you. And I just want to look at your eyes. >> Try to be here in two seconds. >> Okay. Well, she's going to have to wait in the car real quick. Okay. So, see tip my finger. I want you to follow it with your eyes. Do not move your head. Do you understand? Just follow it with your eyes. >> Nope. You're moving your head. All right. Just follow the tip of my head. >> You do understand. I'm on subboxing. >> I do. >> Do you know what that is? >> I do. Kind of injuries, current or previous, that would prohibit you from walking in a straight line or balancing on one foot or doing anything? >> I have surgery on my right leg. >> Okay. When was that? >> Uh about 2 years ago. >> And does it affect you daily? Are you able to >> It depends on the weather. >> Okay. What do you do for a living? >> Me for I'm unemployed. >> She admitted to taking Suboxone daily, possibly to explain away any signs of impairment instead of owning up to poor decisions. During the field sobriety tests, she started offering personal excuses, trying to [music] shape a story that would justify her inability to perform the tasks. Clearly an attempt to dodge responsibility. What you >> I'm disabled. I live in a what do you call it? A disabled home. >> Okay. >> For mother and children. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> So, have have you worked since the surgery at all? >> No. >> Okay. >> All right. Then I'll take the leg into an account. So, what I want you to do is put your right foot in front of your left heel to toe in a straight line. All right. Keep your arms down at your sides. Maintain this position while I explain the test. Do you understand? All right. So, what you're going to do is when I tell you to, you're going to walk nine heel totoe steps towards your vehicle. >> 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9. Is that correct? >> That's nine. >> You want me to turn around? >> You're going to turn around. >> Okay. You want me to go back? >> And then you're going to take nine. >> You know, my socks are going to be dirty. He's brand new. >> You chose to You chose to take the shoes off. >> Two. Three. Four. Sorry, I got to call. Five. Six. 7. Oops. Sorry. Can I do them again? Eight. Nine. >> If you want to do it again, you can. >> I can. I'm perfectly fine. I promise. But I do have a car. >> You got to keep your hands. You're grabbing my car. You got to keep your hands down at your side. Down at your side. >> One, two, three. 4 5 6 7 8 9. Can I turn around? >> Next one's going to be the one leg stand. So, whichever leg you choose, you're going to balance on one leg and you're going to raise the opposite leg so that your foot's approximately 6 in off the ground. I'll demonstrate what it's going to look like. Okay. So, you're going to raise your foot so that's approximately 6 in off the ground. You're going to point your toes forward. You're going to look down at your foot during the entire test. You're going to keep your arms down at your sides and you're going to keep counting up. Starting with the number 1,00 until I tell you to stop. Do you understand? >> Y'all get paid for this. >> We do. >> All right. Are you ready? >> Here. Take one step forward away from the patrol car. There you go. >> Are you ready? >> Whenever you're ready. >> Is this good? >> That's fine. >> My balance sucks. So, I didn't do ballet. >> It was obvious she knew her balance was off and likely expected to fail. Throughout the test, she barely tried. half-hearted, distracted, going through the motions like she just wanted to get it over with without fully cooperating. >> Like I'm not like I have a broken foot. Like you can check my records like either way. >> Sure. So you're saying >> either way either way it goes like my is and I'm 17 weeks pregnant. >> Okay. So which so which foot which leg is the one that you're having an issue with? >> Count. No. No. So, which leg is the one that you're legally >> Yeah. Keep your arms down. >> Arms down at your side. >> 105. >> Look at your foot. >> 1006. >> Yeah. Go put your shoes on. >> Can you talk to my mom, please? >> Go talk to your mom. >> Thank you. >> Am I under arrest? >> You're You're going to be placed under arrest. Yes. But I'm going to let you put your shoes on first. Okay. >> I'm under arrest for what? >> For DWI. Turn around. Face my patrol car. All right. >> Is she allowed to take my car? >> My phones and my money. Everything's in there. >> Do Do you want to take her car? Are you the registered owner of it? >> I'm the registered owner. >> You're the registered owner. If you want to take it, then you're allowed to take it. Um it's up to you. You just have to make sure that she's not going to operate it for the next 12 hours. >> No, I can drive it. I just have my other car down here for outside the street. You're just bringing them >> I I don't know what you're asking. >> Why you play cat and mouse if you're bringing me to drink? >> I I don't know what you mean by playing cat mouse here won't appreciate it cuz he's a idiot. I'm asking for a lawyer been since I got here >> and I told you on camera several times >> they refused to tell me I can't have a lawyer. >> It's a motor vehicle offense. >> Yes. Can I go? >> No, you may not. >> What am I waiting for? >> For the processing to be finished. It's going to take a little while. >> How long? >> On the road. It's about 45 minutes to >> Back at the station. Mariah grew frustrated fast, demanding answers, asking why she was being toyed with. She refused the breath test, kept insisting on calling her lawyer, but was told to wait since officers were still processing the traffic stop. >> Mom's on the way. So, as long as she's cooperative, everything works out, she'll be out of here soon. >> How long? >> As long as you're cooperative. >> I want a lawyer. What do you mean? I can't just all work the same. Y'all don't give about a black person. Black lives matter. >> Race has nothing to do with this, man. >> It really does. It's like all three for y'all like white people against little black lives really matter. They really matter. Like, y'all need to really think about that. I have a [ __ ] donut on my car. My brakes don't work. And I hit a [ __ ] yellow line twice. And your nerves are in the air. Why not try the car out? >> Can I take your car for a test drive? >> You can't operate a car for 12 hours. >> You can. >> You can't operate. >> I wasn't asking to, but you could have. >> That's not what we do. >> There's a donut on the car. The brakes don't work. My like you just wild out. You really just wild out. All because I'm dark skinned. If I was a little old white girl, she could have ran into college and your would have never even investigate the crime scene. All you did was look at the color of the person. >> Okay, this is all look at the color of the car. >> This is all going to be >> You didn't look at the car. You didn't look at the condition of the car. And if you would have noticed, you would have charged me way more. >> Okay. How about the buffer that's tied to the mother front because of the donut? Put it in the report because I'm on camera and I'm going to ask for it. >> Yeah, >> I'm literally telling you you didn't investigate. You looked at the color of the person. >> The officer stayed calm despite her insults, keeping control of the situation. Mariah blamed the car for everything, but didn't take any real accountability. When the topic of racial discrimination came up, she doubled down, mocking the officer's appearance and showing zero remorse. >> Hands up. Can you follow my finger, please? Not even investigating. The mother caught the breath was in. How about safety first? You know your glasses are crooked, right? Or is that your head? >> Your sunglasses? >> It might be your head. Yeah, my head could be. >> Aren't they crooked? >> I'm not only dumb, I'm ugly, too. And I have a crooked head. >> Can you put them on your face? >> I'm stupid. I'm dumb. >> You are. >> Just keep rolling with it. >> No. I'm so serious. Can you really put them on your face, though? >> No. >> Cuz she's laughing like she knows. Can you Can you put them on your face? >> No. >> They look crooked a little bit. I had everything. And I had it ready. You know how people just get flims? >> I had it ready. He asked me for nothing. He seen me and knew he was locking me up. And if he going to bring me outside the car and ask me to do all these dumb tests, I told him like I had surgery in this leg three times, which is on recorder. You know what I mean? So, no, I cannot stand on one leg and talk to you. I could do anything else. you that you was taking you don't even know if I have a license yet. You don't even know if this car is legal. You know, in the end, she was booked [music] into jail and hit with multiple serious charges, driving while intoxicated, DWI, refusing a breath test, reckless driving, lane violations, using a phone while driving, operating an unsafe vehicle, and driving on a suspended license. On top of that, she had a warrant for failing to appear in [music] court. The penalties could be steep. Thousands in fines, a long-term license suspension, and potential jail time for contempt of court. On February 14th, 2023, police were called to a 7-Eleven after reports that an employee was working [music] while intoxicated and needed to be trespassed from the property. But what started as a simple call quickly spiraled out of control. >> Good luck with that. She is drawn behind your >> She's still in here. >> Yeah, she's in here. >> Oh, okay. What does she look like? What's she wearing? >> She's on the front. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> Where shows up at 11? Where is she? Right there. >> You can't tell she's wasted. I don't see anyone. Oh, the employee. >> Yes, I made her trespassed. >> The employee? >> Yep. Sorry, Doug's not going to like it, but she showed up drunk. This is more than the third or fourth or fifth time. She's asked nicely to leave by the 11:00. She wouldn't leave. I told her I'd have her out of here. >> I've asked her seven times, but she won't leave. >> Okay. >> There's no way we need a person working the cash because she looks alive in the 20s. Is she doing anything other than being drunken at work? Like is she disorderly like crazy? >> A little bit. Yeah. When you ask her like an idiot. >> No, I just you guys just need a trespass. >> Trespass. >> Hello. >> It's this employee. We just want to trespass. Showed up to work drunk. Completely drunk. So >> yeah, so far she's not doing anything criminal other than that. What's What did you say her first name is? >> Laura. Laura. Hey, they don't want you here anymore. Hi. >> You're going to be trespassed. >> No, I'll go home. I'll go home. >> Yeah, >> but she locked the door and she's being really weird. >> Well, you showed up to work drunk today. Okay. They have a problem with that here. They're trying to run a business. So, is that your manager? >> Can you run the tape back? I've been working fine. Nobody has complained. >> Okay. Well, I can smell the alcohol coming off your breath right now just speaking to you. And we're a couple feet away from each other. Okay. >> Neither here nor there. They just don't want you here. Officers followed legal protocol by issuing a formal trespass notice. Despite the strong smell of alcohol, Laura denied being drunk. Clear evidence that her judgment and perception were already impaired. The longer she spoke, the more her own words gave her away. >> Do you have just this bag? >> She's over here talking to >> Is this your ID here? Ma'am, you want to let her know what you said? >> She's got to hear from you. >> Bye. >> Is that your cup? Can we hold it? >> No. >> Yes, ma'am. Is >> there alcohol in the cup in there? >> Water. >> Is it? >> Yeah. >> Is this water? >> Laura, what what's your How do you spell Laura? >> L A Y. >> Okay. What's your last name? >> What's your last name? Laura. >> She She has something she wants to tell you. >> Love you. >> Go talk to her. >> Why? >> She's trespassed. >> You need to tell her that she's trespassed. >> The whole morning. >> She's trespassed. >> If you come back to this property, so this whole entire lot, you'll be arrested. Okay. >> I think you should probably call your Who's your manager? What's his name? >> Doug Anderson. You can't miss his face. It's all >> really quick. Laura, how did you get How did you get to work today? >> I don't have here. >> Okay. Where's your Where's your house? >> Oh, I remember you. I have. Don't touch me. >> Do you have an ID on you? >> You have an ID? You don't have any ID? What's your last name? >> Did you mix anything with your alcohol today? >> No. >> I didn't even want to drink today. I just had anxiety. >> How much do you think you drank? >> I had anxiety because I feel like everybody's trying to get me. I feel like she's a witch. And >> is that your manager? She a boss? >> No. They're so mad because even the boss, I don't think I don't put anybody up here. >> Police did things by the book, clearly stating the trespass warning and explaining the consequences of violating it. When asked, Laura admitted she didn't have an ID. The officers tried to help, asking about her ride and home address, clearly aiming to get her home safe and avoid making things worse. the address and I'll send them my miles. But thank you. What's your name? >> No, I'm going to I'm going to drive you. >> What's your name? >> My name's Deputy Backro. >> Who? I I really don't think we should get on a car. You want to walk home with me? >> You go in the car. >> You're going to walk to this car. Okay. Right here. >> I like to walk actually, >> but you want to walk with me? >> Right here. I'm going to drive you. We're going to We're going to drive. >> No. Stop pushing me. >> We're going to drive. >> So, listen. I'm trying to help you out. Okay. If I drive you home, you get to go home. It's a beautiful day. >> If I drive you home, you get to go home. >> I get to go home now. >> If I don't drive you home, >> you might go somewhere different. >> You might go somewhere different. >> You understand what I'm saying? Go to this car. >> Go to your car. >> Go to this car. >> Go to the walk. >> Go to that car. >> Why don't you want to take a walk? >> I'm not I'm not doing that. I'm driving. >> Go to the car. >> It's too short to drive. It's really right there. >> Ma'am, you're intoxicated. So, where we're at is we're not we're gonna drive you to your house and if someone listen to me, okay? >> I'm not in there. Listen. Stop talking. You're talking. >> You're talking. >> Stop. >> Stop. >> You're going to either get in the car and they're going to drive you or you're going to get marshmacked. All right. Cool. >> Guess. >> You really guys need to stop it. >> No, ma'am. >> No, ma'am. Stop. >> Let go of it. >> No. >> Let go of it. >> What is going on with >> ma'am? This is the second time. >> If you fight, if you keep moving, you're going to go right to the ground. I don't give a [ __ ] >> No way. >> Hey, [ __ ] >> Are we Are we But then Laura crossed the line. Her violent resistance turned a civil issue into a criminal one. Officers were forced to physically restrain her as she screamed, hit back, and fought them off. Even though she kept insisting she just wanted to walk home, her actions went far beyond what the law allows. Stop resisting. You're hurting me. Why are you taking me? I was just going to walk home. I was just going to walk home. Do it. >> Absolutely not. >> You're done. Do it. >> What is wrong with you? >> Oh, boohoo. >> I don't give a [ __ ] >> I don't give a [ __ ] if you meant to or not. You did. >> So, you're done. So instead of going home, you're going to jail. >> Just got to walk home. >> I need to get my phone. >> Why am I like >> [ __ ] >> Why am I in your car? What am I in? >> We were going to take charge for battery. You're getting charged for Matt Leo two times. Two times. >> I'm charging you twice for me. >> Oh no. Boohoo. Two felonies just for me. And you're getting what? obstruction with violence and it all could have been avoided. But this is a second wanted to do is walk home. >> Oh, and we tried to drive you home, but you wanted to be an So now here we are. >> Oh, now now you see how stupid you sound, right? >> Yeah. All of that. Now, now you have like a felony. Officers clearly laid out the charges she was now facing and made it clear that her own behavior had caused this escalation. It was a buy the book procedure, but also gave her a chance to understand the legal consequences of what she had done. >> Either you know anything about your soul. >> This could have been so easy. You were just going to go. We were going to find out someone that could take care of you cuz you're drunk as [ __ ] and you came to work. >> You chose to resist that and fight her. Since 11:00, I've been fine. She just only got pissed because I told her she was a witch and she knows it. >> I We're not talking about me. We're not talking about her. We're talking about us. Yeah, we tried to give you a ride home and you wanted to save off of work. >> We regular. >> Oopsie. >> Listen, I'm not even mad. >> I don't give a [ __ ] if you are. You're still getting charged with Bat Leo and it's all on camera and it's a felony. >> Oh, I'm so great. >> It is on camera. Oh, that's >> so Yep. And it's notated. It's all that you This is the third interaction of you. >> That's how you do this. >> And this is how you do. This is why you end up in the situations you heavenly father. Yes. Yes. >> Yep. >> Love does. >> Okay. Yeshua. But that's fine. >> Yesua. >> Okay. >> Yahweh is the creator. Yes. >> In the end, Laura was charged [music] with public intoxication, trespassing, violently resisting arrest, and assaulting an officer. She now faces two felony charges, serious offenses that could carry jail time, and hefty fines, especially since this wasn't her first run-in with the law. On April 9th, 2024, police [music] were called to a hotel after staff discovered a young child left alone. Concerned for the child's safety, they immediately contacted authorities. But as officers followed the trail, a far more troubling story began to unfold. >> I did try. Hold on. >> How old did you say roughly? >> No, I'm not sure. >> Okay, no worries. It was hard to tell. She was curled up in the bed. Okay. >> I did. I didn't even see the first time we went in the bug guy. I was like, "Did you see that chin chin?" >> So, I went back and I looked >> and I was like, >> "So, you were in the room though? Was you the only one in there?" >> And that cuz I was like, "Hello." And cuz we went to spray and um >> uh he we didn't spray in there. >> Okay. >> You can't even hardly move. There's so much debris. Like the whole room is just a mess. So, >> no, you did the right thing. I'm going to go check on her. Okay. >> Please. Which just so I know which is the fastest way to get in. >> Right down here is the first two 220 219 218. >> Perfect. Thank you. >> Not first. >> Not good. >> Wer police department. >> Wer police department. >> There's two of them. Huh? >> There's a baby. >> Check the bathroom. It's >> clear. >> Yeah, they're Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Hi, sweetheart. >> Yeah. Hey. Hey, sweetheart. Hey. Yeah. Just making sure that Oh, yeah. They have IDs up there. >> Hi, sweetheart. >> I'm Wider Police Department. Where's your mommy? >> When police entered room 218, they first found one child, then quickly realized there was a second. The mother was nowhere in sight. Just the sight of two young children left alone in a filthy hotel room was already a glaring sign of serious neglect. It didn't take long before she was found. >> Where's your husband at? >> He's at work. >> Where's he at work? >> Um, in Jefferson by JBS terminal. >> Okay. >> Did you leave those two kids by the way? >> I don't have enough space in my car. >> Okay. >> And she was sleeping and I was watching. >> But your husband was already going to work? >> Yeah. >> When he left for work, the two kids were with you. >> Yes. >> And then we'll talk about what's going to happen with you with us. >> Okay. Okay. Um, yeah. What happened? Yeah. Do you have family? >> Um, it's just me and my husband. >> 12. >> Probably. Is my worker Is my worker here? >> Oh, >> are you the uh Are you the uh supervisor? >> It's nice to see you. >> What' you say? >> She doesn't know her mother. >> Oh, yeah. I know. >> There was a child. >> Two kids went to the hospital. >> Oh, did they? Are they onella? No, they're going to >> There's also a child that was on a floorboard in the back of the car. >> I don't know if >> she's going. >> Yeah, that's what she said. Y'all know where the dad is. >> But y'all need to look in the room. >> Um, if you want to push child strength, got that. Um, obviously I observed it. Just put that in the report that I observed it. Um uh [music] you push reckless conduct. >> Okay. >> Cuz obviously it's pretty reckless totally >> to live two kids who are unable to take care of themselves depending on the duration of time. >> Mhm. >> I would question. >> The entire room sounds like your room. >> Yeah. >> I'm putting that in there. Question for you. >> So what time did you leave this morning? >> Um I didn't leave this morning. I had left earlier. Um, I I thought I left at 1:52, but I'm I left before you guys came. >> Yeah. >> You got to go pick them up at 2:00. >> You go pick them up at 2:00. How long were you gone? >> Not that long. >> Not that long. >> So, you're saying you you just left? You didn't leave him before that? >> No, I didn't. So, was this car here all day then? From the start, the mother showed signs of denial and deflection as officers uncovered more children in unsafe conditions, both in the room and in her vehicle. The scope of the investigation widened. This wasn't just a lapse in judgment. It pointed to a disturbing pattern of neglect, and it seemed she was crafting a narrative to dodge any real responsibility. >> Okay, so let me just I'm trying to figure things out. >> So, the only time you left here today was to go pick them up. Yeah. So, your husband was the one that took her to school >> in the morning, >> huh? >> In the morning. >> That's what you said, right? >> Yeah. Your godmother takes them to school in the morning. She works from home. She doesn't get to work until 9:30. So, she starts at 9:30. >> So, your mother, your grand or godmother school? >> Your grandmother? >> All of them? >> Yes. >> And what car does she drive? >> Uh, she has her Lexus. She lives in uh one as well. Okay. >> Okay. So, this car has not left this parking lot at all this morning. >> No, sir. >> Interesting. Okay. I just want to know because it was driving at 9:00 this morning cuz I have several cameras that surround the city of this and it was driving. That's how I figured out what car you're driving. >> This car was driving 9:00 this morning all the way from 8:00 to 9. It's time to be truthful. >> It's time to be truthful cuz did it rain yesterday? Huh? >> Did it rain yesterday? It was a beautiful day yesterday, right? So, hasn't rained in a while and it was pouring rain this morning and this car was on the road with all the rain. So, this car hasn't left the parking lot this morning. How's that transpired? Cuz you were driving. Okay. Don't lie to me. Just going to dig yourself in a >> I think it was like around 8:50 when her um grandmother Okay. >> So, why why didn't you tell us that before? Huh? Why didn't you tell us that before? Okay. So, you were out at 8:50 to You went to drop off the backpack. Where did you go from there? I came back. Came back here. >> Yeah. >> And you had all the kids in the in your car the first time? >> No, I just had um my three boys. >> Okay. And then I went to parents or something my two daughters in school. Okay. How many kids do you have? >> Eight. >> Eight. So that's how many are we counting for there? You said you had three boys. Two. Four girls. Four. Four boys. And you said you had three boys with you in which two girls. So I'm missing three kids. Where were they at? >> The two room and my older daughter. She's at school. She's in middle school. Came in. >> Cornered. She eventually admitted she had left the hotel at 8:50 a.m. abandoning the two children in the room. She claimed to have eight kids and described her parenting, but her words only highlighted how little control or care there really was. >> Back here. >> Yeah, I came back here. I didn't say all day out. I ran I raced to go to her school. I went that way and made a left hand turn. I don't know. When I made that bus, I was supposed to make a right hand turn. I made a left. >> Okay. Um, I think a little bit until it was time for me to go pick them up. I think I'll leave my husband 52 or 122. My husband, >> Miss Smart, where's your husband at? >> He's at work where >> does he work at? >> Um, JBS terminal >> in I think it's Oakwood. >> Okay. What time does he go to work at? >> Uh, he goes to work at and at night. He works shift. >> 9 and 9. Not usually 9 if >> So what time did he go to bed at work last night? >> 10 last night. >> Okay. And he hasn't come home since. >> No. >> Where is he at now? >> He's still at work. >> I wanted his shift. >> So you're telling me he's almost working a 24-hour shift? >> Not a 24-hour shift, but he's been working past 12 hours. Um, a few of his people called out and so he soaked up the extra work cuz we needed the money. Yeah. So he took the extra work, the extra loss. So, he worked from 10:00 last night and he's still working at 3:15 today. >> I just spoke to him and showed it to the lady, too. She just spoke to him as well. >> What did he say? >> He said he's still at work. >> He said he's still working. >> Yeah, he's usually his coworker is there, but because he had >> What's the number that you called? >> Cuz I'm going to speak to them. >> His phone number? >> No, the number that you called so I can confirm he's still at work. >> Oh. >> Cuz it's kind of hard to believe anything you're telling me. When pressed, she reluctantly confirmed leaving the kids behind, but quickly changed her story, blaming her husband's work schedule. But the inconsistencies were obvious, and officers called the husband directly to get the truth. >> Hello. >> Hello. Is this Francis? >> Yes, sir. >> Hey, this is Officer Lucas Police Department. How are you today? >> I'm doing good. >> Okay. Um, so I have a quick couple questions for you if you don't mind speaking with me. >> Yeah. >> Okay. What is your location right now? >> Um, right now I'm at my job. Um, >> and what's the address of your job? >> Um, I was waiting for my coworker to drop me off. >> Mhm. >> Hello. >> Yeah, I'm here. >> Yeah. Yeah. Um, but uh, her mom and sister will be coming. Okay. So, what time what time did you go to work this morning? >> Uh, I got off at uh I think about 12:00. >> You got off at 12:00? >> Yeah. >> What time did you go in last night? >> Got home. >> What time did you go in to work at? >> Uh, go to work in the night about uh I think uh about 10:00. Yeah. >> Okay. So, you left for work last night. You got off at 12:00. >> Yeah. >> You just been hanging out at your job the whole time? >> Yeah. I I waiting for my cool work up uh to get off, but um most of the time I get up. >> We already know. We We got you. We know who you are. So, >> you just want to go ahead and we walk over to the car where your kids ain't got to watch it or anything like that. So, and you're going to go for two accounts of cruelty to children. Okay. >> Okay. And also two accounts of reckless conduct. Okay. >> All right. Okay, sir. Okay. That's all I'm going to charge you with. I'm not going to charge you with the way the car seats are or anything like that. Okay? I'm going to let all that slide this time. Thank you. >> But in the in the future, if if all this works out for you, Yes, sir. >> make sure the car seats are fastened in properly >> cuz none of those car seats are seat belted in properly. >> None of them. I picked them all up out of the seat. In the end, the mother was arrested and charged with two counts of child neglect and two counts of reckless endangerment for leaving the kids in a filthy hotel room and transporting them unsafeely. She now faces possible years in prison for the child abuse charges and jail time or hefty fines for the reckless behavior depend. On June 20th, [music] 2024 in Georgia, Judge Christina A. Douglas of Douglas County found herself in a heated altercation outside the Red Martini nightclub. It all started when she stepped into a scuffle between a man and a woman. At first, it seemed like she was trying to protect the woman, but things escalated quickly. Her actions turned aggressive. And in just a matter of moments, her entire career came crashing down. No, just let that [ __ ] run. No, he can touch me every And that's on me. Nothing. >> What? Get my Where's her? >> She's a judge. >> Go get my She's a gun. >> You just punched the cop. >> No, I did not. >> Go get my purse. >> I have your stuff. >> I didn't push. >> No, I didn't. I don't punch. >> No, I did not. >> Okay. >> Are you serious? >> What I don't understand is the guy was that lady. >> He pushed that girl. >> Record. Record. Record please. Initially, Douglas's intervention could have been seen as an attempt to help another woman. But instead of complying with the officer's lawful commands, she outright refused. And then she went as far as attacking them while they were just trying to deescalate the situation. It didn't matter who she was. Assaulting an officer took everything to a whole new level. >> I got everything. >> Thank you. >> Go ahead, officer. Can you tell me what happened to you? >> She was trying to help another girl. >> Okay, if I come there. >> She was trying to She was trying to help another girl that was fighting. A man was beating a girl. >> Please don't arrest her. >> Nobody >> because that's it. That's it. That's it. >> That's my friend. That's my friend. >> I'm going to take her to the Jeep. I don't understand what happened. Officer was beating up his girlfriend and she was trying to jump in to help out the girl cuz no other man was helping out the girl and she got knocked the f out like who >> he got he ran now because y'all came. >> Okay. >> But he a girl got beat up by her >> by her uh boyfriend I think. >> Okay. So she she jumped in. >> She jumped in to help help the girl out. >> Okay. But then but she she she's a little also under the weather. She's a little tipsy. So when she's seen another man coming up, she thinking all the men are attacking her. >> Oh, so she that's why she hit the cop in the chest. I know. You know what I'm saying? >> Yeah. >> Well, that's not my call, bro. >> What? What did she do? >> Nothing. >> Oh, security was uh separating a fight. >> Nothing. He hit a woman. He He abused the woman, ma'am. And I was like, >> he put me in handcuffs cuz I was not in agreement with his disrespect for or woman. >> Do you need to go to the hospital? >> That is so disrespectful. My God. >> God is not pleased on what you're doing, sir. >> So >> God is so pleased. >> Maybe if he wasn't >> I pray for you right now. >> Maybe if he wasn't Let me Maybe if he wasn't drinking. >> Jesus. I pray right now, right now, the Lord, >> you would have known that I walked over there to separate it. >> So there you go. That's why you're going to jail. >> This woman has done nothing to him. Lord, he put his hands upon her and I could not sit and watch and see it. Lord, I observe him and he in the name of Jesus, Lord, he has been touched by a devil and the demonic spirit, Lord, that he has put his hands upon me in in in in in retaliation and Lord, in his his demonic spirit, Lord, I'm going to let him live in what he has lived in, Lord, and he's not going to succeed." She then [music] switched gears, flexing her authority in a whole different way by shifting blame onto the victim and playing the regret card. A classic move. >> You want to provide your name so you can get booked in? >> I know my rights. >> You have not I have not committed a crime. Book me in right now. >> Okay. I need your name. >> Book me in. I have not committed a crime. Book me in. >> What items do you have? Excuse me. I don't have >> All right. I need your first ambulance so I can book you in. >> Book me in. >> I can't book you in. >> Book me in. It doesn't matter. Take me in. Take me in, sir. >> Unbuckle me and book me in. >> Okay. >> No, I think you have it confused cuz everybody was there that saw it and and I don't care how much you try to pay them people. They >> You know I'm sitting in the car, right? So I don't know what >> you were not sitting in the Are you serious? >> Who was beating on that lady? You You beat on that woman. >> I had this camera on the whole time. >> Sir, >> the woman you beat. >> What woman did I beat? >> Which woman did I beat? >> At the place we were just at, sir. I'm not about to do that. It was not called Grand Martini. >> It's called Red Martini. >> That's what I said. >> And outside of the place you had put your hands on that woman without causing provocation. She did not put her hands on you. She was not aggressive with you. She was not abusive with you, sir. And you put your hands on her without causing a provocation. That was that on Junth. >> I think you had too much to drink. >> I Are you ser? I didn't have >> You can't You can't remember what happened. >> Hold on. First of all drinking. I wasn't driving, sir. >> I didn't say. >> So, be very careful with what you say. >> I didn't say anything about >> But you But what you did was put your hands on that lady and then you punch me to the ground. Put take me where you need to go, sir. Cuz this is harassment. >> I can't. >> This is harassment. >> You don't want to provide a name. >> Take run me into the uh what do you call it? The pod sale. What? Take me where you need to take me. I will get a fingerprint and you can and they can find out who I am. I do this for a living. >> That's not how it works. >> Don't play with me. Run me into the pod at this point. Please stop playing with me and harassing me. >> That's not how it works. >> It will work like that. I promise you. I need a name and date of birth. >> No, >> you should have known that when you harassed me and beat me to the ground. Run me to the you you you punched me to the ground. >> All right, we're going to sit here. >> Yeah. Well, we'll be here all night until your Who is your C? What zone is this? Please, Lord, have mercy on this. >> Please have mercy. >> But she didn't stop there. When asked to identify herself, she flat out refused. Instead, she started named dropping powerful connections, hoping to intimidate the officers. And when that didn't work, [music] she pivoted to manipulating the situation, throwing in some spiritual theatrics, and even spreading false claims to paint the cops as the bad guys. >> I'm praying for you right now. Don't talk to me. Like, I'm I'm really praying for your spirit. Take me where you want to take me. I'm not scared of you. I'm not scared of jail. I'm not scared of none of it. Take me where you need to take me. Ready? >> Take me where you need to take me. Stop harassing me. >> All right, ma'am. >> I just pray for you. Take me where you need to take me. I'm not scared of you or jail. Please take me where you need to take me. >> No, I could give a Take me where you want to take me. You're not going to harass me and I'm I'm done. I can give you n >> stop playing with me. You have beat a woman and you beat me to the ground. Take me where you want to take me. >> I can't take I don't have any identification. >> And I don't care. The last person that ever tried me like this died 30 days later. I pray for you >> and I I pray for you. My God. [snorts] >> I'm trying to book you in. >> My God. >> So you can >> right now in Jesus name. I pray this. I pray >> I'm trying to book you in. >> You know what? He's a woman abuser, Lord. He [snorts] He abused that woman outside. He had tried to abuse me. Lord, right now, I ask that you forgive him. I ask that you put it in his heart and his spirit. Lord, I pray that you let him live and understand. I pray he don't understand, Lord. And if he feels this is a mockery, Lord, please let him understand. >> Ma'am, I'm trying to get you booked in so you can >> Lord, he doesn't understand what this is. He doesn't understand the spirit of God cuz he understand what he's he understood what the good old boy the proud boys is. He understood what Illuminati is. But he don't know what you are. At this stage it became [music] crystal clear she was deep in denial mode. A common reaction from those used [music] to wielding power when they suddenly found themselves on the receiving end of authority. When taken to the station [music] for fingerprinting, her response, no shocker, she refused to cooperate. >> For what? >> I wasn't puffed. I wasn't. Shut the up. You look like a [ __ ] who was trying to kill me before 911. Relax. >> Shut the Stop touching me. >> Yeah. Stop touching me. Me. Stop touch. I got it. I can walk on my own. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. I got it. I can walk on my own. Don't touch me. >> This will beat a woman and think I'm about to watch it and be cool with you. Weird that out. We can't identify you. If somebody committed a murder, you would be [ __ ] them in regardless cuz you you don't give a >> Okay. All right. Come on. We got to go. >> This is harassing me. >> Don't touch Don't touch me. >> Come on. >> I can walk on my own. >> By now, Douglas knew there was no way out. But that didn't stop her from trying to stall. Refusing to identify herself only [music] made things worse. Forcing officers to follow through with stricter procedures. And yet, despite her political clout, the cops [music] handled everything by the book, refusing to be bullied into backing down. >> Hurry. Okay. work. Okay. Where you went? So, you was at a concert. He beat the [ __ ] around. I was leaving. I was just I don't know that girl. >> I was just standing in that line waiting for his boo and he just he just I was watching. I don't know this girl. I've never met her a day in my life. >> Give me your name. If you give me your name, then you'll be booked here. You'll be with us. What's your name? >> No. >> What's your name? >> You know who call do what? >> I don't I don't know the people. >> Callie, you know? >> Yes, you do. >> Who is that? She could have been out of there easily once [music] they verified her identity, but instead she made the choice to spend the night in the back of a patrol car. >> I will book take me where I need to go. Book me in. >> They told you that they need your names to book you in. >> Uh, they don't need from me. >> They don't need to book. So, what we going to do? Sit here all night? >> I guess. >> Okay. Call Collie. Do you know who Cyrus Collie is? I'mma ask you this one question. Hold on. Let me ask you. Do you not know who Cyrus Collie is? Excuse me. Do you not know who Cyrus Collie is? Okay. And to top it off, she was removed from her judicial position and banned from holding any legal office for the next 7 years. So, what happens when entitlement [music] meets consequences? On September 2nd, 2023, police were called to a car dealership after a man was caught trying to buy a vehicle using a fake ID. The manager quickly confirmed with the real ID owner and immediately called the police. But when officers arrived, the situation took an unexpected turn. >> That gray shirt had off. >> Okay. >> That's the ID he gave us. My other manager just got off the phone with the >> with the real guy. >> The real. >> Okay. >> So, what all information do you have on here? >> That's it. >> He's got his real name, too. Take a walk out this way. Ma'am, I will explain everything in a second. Take a walk. >> Can I walk with you? >> You can talk to these officers real quick. >> What's going on? The suspect seemed strangely calm, almost like he was playing innocent, but his refusal to show any ID and his unwillingness to cooperate made one thing clear. He was hiding his real identity and probably a lot more. >> No, I haven't. >> Apparently, so we're going to get to the bottom in just a second. >> Sir, I haven't done anything. >> Walk over here. >> Okay, >> it's either you can start being real compliant or we can do this the hard way. It is your call. Lean back for me. Okay, lean back for me and look at it. Yes, sir. >> So, you have a Florida ID, an Indian ID. What's your ID number? >> I don't want to disclose anything. >> Okay. Right now, you have no choice because you provide these people with a fake driver's license that has somebody else. >> I didn't provide them and your picture on it. I don't have anything physical. I g I gave him a photo of my ID, sir. >> How did they get your ID? >> He kept denying that he ever said the name Thomas, even though it was all caught on camera. He thought staying silent would protect him, but all it did was raise more red flags. At that point, he wasn't just stalling. He was risking a charge for giving false information to law enforcement. >> I rub your shoulder off. Hey, man. Sorry about the dust and we're all gone. But you being non-compliant is making it look a little more suspicious on you. >> I haven't anything wrong. That's why I'm not being compliant. I don't feel like I'm being justly handled. I'm in cuffs right now for for I don't know >> for >> I'll tell you my social. >> What part of Indian? >> Um Indianapolis. >> Indianapolis. >> Let's go with your name. Let's do it the right way. >> My name's Christopher Bracken. >> Christopher. >> Eventually, he admitted to using a [music and singing] fake name, but then gave another false name. It was lie after lie. When police started talking to his wife, the truth started to unravel. Turns out this whole thing was a carefully staged act. >> Okay, hun. I apologize. >> Oh, I'm so sorry. >> You're all right. I'm I'm going to explain some stuff to you. Okay. >> What's his name? Tyler. >> Tyler. >> Tyler. And that's why they called us because apparently he's done this a couple different times and he's been flagged. >> His wife broke down crying, acting like she had no idea her husband was scamming people. Meanwhile, officers discovered multiple fake names tied to him, only adding fuel to the case for identity fraud. The police gave him several chances to come clean, but he stuck to his story. Ironically, his wife's emotional reaction gave officers even more leverage to apply pressure. >> He was red, right? >> Okay. >> Hey, boss. Look at me. Look at Turn around. We're double cuff me. You are going to jail for lying to me regardless. So, we're done with this shenanigans. I'm not giving you any more chances. Depending on how deep the scam goes and whether he has prior offenses, he could be looking at weeks or even months behind bars plus possible federal charges. Truth always comes to light.
