You're >> Kimberly. I'm not gone. No. >> No. How about this? >> Out of here. >> Some wounds don't come from strangers. They're carved by the very arms once meant to protect us. >> A plastic bag and everything. She better stop crying. So >> right there. >> Yeah. She's very just sticking out there like >> Stop. Stop. I'm not out on the ground. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Every scream, every tear is a shard of childhood torn away too soon. >> Bad boys. Bad boys. What you going to do when they come? >> It goes like that kind of >> that one. Yeah, that one. >> And sometimes justice doesn't come [music] to punish a mother. It comes to save the little child still crying inside her. On October 17th, 2024, 6 days after a Target theft where a woman used her own child to steal over $1,000 worth of merchandise, when officers finally tracked her down, what began as a quick recovery turned into an unexpected showdown. >> Unfortunately, you're not allowed to panhandle like you're doing. >> No, here. >> No, not anywhere in the county. You can't stand on the corner anywhere and ask for money. >> Okay. Sorry, but I'm not going to pull here anymore. >> Oh, do you have an ID or anything? >> No. >> Okay. Is that your van? >> No, I'm calling with the Uber. >> All right, come over here with me for a minute. >> Detective Fleming. >> Hey, Detective Fleming. It's Officer Hurst. >> How you doing, man? >> Good. I am 1012 with your attempt to identify suspects here at the >> at the Target at Santa Barbara Veterans. Do you guys live in Cape Coral? >> Yeah. Where do you stay? >> I live in Southwest. >> Southwest? Yeah. >> Test >> something. >> Do you know Southwest? Like what street? >> That's the street is 47. >> Yes. >> Terrace. >> Yes. >> While we're waiting, do you mind if I take a look in your bag? >> Sure. >> Do you mind if I look in it? >> Yeah. All right. There's And how long have you been here? >> Just like half an hour or something. >> And you got all that. Did you bring that money? >> No, I have some money. My m my insp. >> Okay. How I mean standing here in that half hour, how much stuff did you guys get? >> We did like 50 bucks something. >> Okay. >> But we was about to leave, you know, when you came cuz we didn't want to stay anymore. You know >> how I mean how often do you guys come up here? >> Like one time, two times a week. >> Does he go to school? >> We just moved here. >> How long ago? >> Like few weeks. Like two weeks, you know. >> Okay. From where? >> From Maryland. >> From where? >> Maryland. >> Maryland. Yeah. Okay. How long did you were you in Maryland? >> Like few months. Like >> Okay. >> 8 n months. >> Where were you at before that? >> We was here. >> Listening to her talk, you'd never know where she actually lived. probably homeless. She stole high-priced items, yet begged for a few bucks just to get by. Clearly, she wasn't some career criminal, just a woman cornered by poverty and bad choices. >> Very good. >> Hey, how are you? Speak English. >> Hi. >> Yes. Immigrations. >> Uh, do you have any ID with you? >> I don't have it right. I forget it at home. >> You don't have any ID with you? Not at all. >> No. Did you get no dog in this hall? >> Nothing. >> Okay. I ended up finding her through some prior call history. >> Okay. >> The driver's license. >> What's your status in the United States? >> Okay. Like how I live here? >> Yeah. >> I have the papers from >> What kind of papers do you have? >> Immigration. >> I'm immigration. So, what kind of paper do you have? >> Uh that one the it's called. There's no such thing as I94. >> I don't know how you how they call you know the papers but they give me from the immigration. >> When do you come to United States? >> It's around like 2 years. >> Two years ago from where? >> From back home in yellow. Came from Hungary. >> So you're Hungarian. >> No Romania. >> So how do you get from Romania to Hungary? To Hungary. >> The Hungary is not far from Romania. >> Right. So you flew but how do you >> Yeah. You flew from Romania to Hungary. >> Yes. >> And then from Hungary you went where? >> To Mexico. >> You flew from Hungary to Mexico. >> Why didn't you fly from Romania to Mexico? >> Because I don't know. It was we didn't have like we didn't know anymore. It was like too complicated. >> It's too complicated to fly from Romania to Mexico, but it's not complicated to fly from Hungary. >> There's no from Romania. There's no like airport. It's in Romania. >> Okay. So, there's an international airport in Hungary. >> Yeah. >> There's no international airport in in Romania. >> No, it's just No, it's not. >> So, I cannot go if I want to go to Roman Romania right now. I cannot fly to Romania. >> So, you have to go like to know like Budapest, >> right? >> Yeah. Then you get a car, then you go to Romania. >> Okay. Okay. I'm just trying to understand. >> Tension rose when the second detective showed up. She started tossing out random stories, hoping something might stick. But once she made up a document that didn't even exist, her whole act collapsed, exposing her desperation and lack of control. >> Where in Mexico did you core? Mexico City did you have where? >> Yeah. The Mexico, the Cancun. >> So you flew to Cancun. >> Yeah. >> Okay. From Cancun, how did you cross where? Black Allen, Arizona, New Mexico, California. How? Where? >> You crossing. You're right. But which state you cross into? Texas. >> Yeah. >> Arizona, New Mexico, or California? >> California. >> You went to California? >> Yeah. >> How did you get from Cancun, which is in one corner, to another corner in California? How did you do that? I don't know too much because I came with my father by myself. >> So you came with your father. Your father is here also in the United States. >> How did your father come here? >> With me. Me and him. >> So it's the three of you. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Who's the dad? >> He's not here. >> Where is he at? >> He's in. >> Did he get permission to escape being in in this country? Did that give permission to escape outside? >> I'm not. >> So you have full custody of him? >> Yes. >> You have the paper for that? >> Yes. >> For the full custody. >> Yeah. When I the baby born here. >> He was born in the United States. >> So he was not born. He >> was not born in. >> Okay. >> So you were pregnant when you crossed. >> No. >> You said you've been here 2 years, right? No, I was here like before. >> So your whole purpose was to intend to immigrate to the United States. >> That's what I'm trying to figure out. >> No, it was like long time in I born there. >> You were born in Ireland. How long did you live in Ireland? >> I lived like 13 14 years >> in Ireland. >> Yeah. >> And then you went back to Romania. Yeah. >> Right. How long were you in Romania? >> For a few years. >> On order of your own reconnaissance. You've been released on your order of own reconnaissance. >> You have employment authorization. Do you have any pictures of the document that you have? >> No, I don't. >> What kind of documents do you have? No, you need to have some sort of documents. Whenever you encounter any federal immigration officers, you need to have your >> When her I'm from Romania story fell apart, she switched to I'm Irish. At that point, you couldn't even be mad. just sad. She had nothing left to lose, only trying out which lie might save her. And when nothing [music] worked, she used her child as her final emotional shield. >> You're arrested right now. >> I forget. >> Okay. Where do you live? >> I live in here. >> Hi, we're in Cape. Where? >> Is that all correlate with the with your information in the system? >> Yeah. And I actually trespassed you in 2023 from Walmart. I was the officer that talked to you. >> Do you remember what address you gave me that time? >> When I went back to the >> Yep. >> Yeah. Cuz then I just that was in my house. So I just live over there. >> Live there with >> my father. >> What does your father do for work? What does he do for work? >> Your father >> do some cleaning. >> His cleaning? >> Yes. >> How about you? What do you do for work? >> Right now, not because I don't have the papers here. No >> in the apartment. Is there anybody else? >> No. >> There's not another female? >> No, just me and my father. >> Do you know a Julia? Is there a reason that she would have called from the same headdress the other day? >> There nobody lives there. only in my cousin. >> How long have you been living there? >> Like for a few weeks. You just moved over here. >> You just moved from where? Over here. From where? >> From Maryland. >> You just moved over here from Ireland. >> From Maryland. >> From Maryland. >> Yeah. >> Have you ever been arrested here in the United States? >> Never. Never been arrested. >> Not that I see. Couple of trespass warnings, but that's it. >> It's a trespass, but she's never been taken down or anything like that. >> No. >> Okay. I have an important question for you. Do you have any weapons? >> Do you carry a knife with you? Presently, you're under arrest for some charges. One is grand. We can all document exactly what happened. Nothing else is going on here. I'm just going to be removing your neck right now. >> You don't have anything else? Any other contraband evidence that's hidden on your person? Any any like that? Did someone give you this painting? >> That was mine. >> That was yours? >> I'm not taking your money. I'm just documenting it. >> I was just curious if there's people out here that are giving pan handlers $50 just out of the goodness of their hearts. So, that's really something. >> Under Florida law, involving a minor in a theft makes the crime far more serious. By the time she was arrested, she wasn't fighting anymore. All that fake confidence was gone. The kid was both a victim and her only emotional anchor. [music] And when a so-called family friend showed up instead of the child's grandfather, everyone realized just how chaotic her life really was. >> Visa of the United States. So your visit only you're right to see an immigration. I apply for separately citizenship and immigration services and see what does this have to do with her arrest? I want to know like with this immigration stuff. What does this have to do with her arrest? >> Yeah, remember you came with the lady. >> I I remember the call. Yeah. But I don't remember like details like your spelling your father's name. That's why I'm asking. >> He spoke a little bit of English. I remember he was sitting down with you at the table. Remember? >> Yeah. And sorry last name. >> Same last name as my name. >> Okay. Who is she to you? >> She's a She's basically like a family friend basically. I've known her all her life. >> So basically that's it. >> Didn't come over together. She came >> she she was she was here before us like a long time ago thing. But >> okay >> I don't really know. I actually just met her like literally 4 months after we came here you know cuz I didn't know she was here. >> So regrettably then you aren't family. What family does she actually have here? She has uh her her her dad here, >> right? Her grandpa. Well, his grandpa. >> His grandpa. Yeah. That's who I was hoping was going to show up. Nobody told me it was going to be some other family tree. >> I understand. Well, she's probably scared to speak. You know what I'm saying? >> Is I'm going to transport him to the station in my car. He's not going to be handcuffed or anything like that. Okay. There's nothing scary for him. He's going to sit with one of the ladies from our victim's advocate center and then um she's going to keep she's going to keep them company until until his family need to help. Okay. What if I What if I bring the ground floor here? >> I'm not going to wait for that long cuz I've been here for over an hour and >> I have the kid is not helping you, which is great. >> I have things that I need to do, sir. >> And I' I've already tried to be accommodating to them. Our I didn't have to wait the hour just so that you're aware. >> I understand. I appreciate that. >> Okay. You can't be alone. >> You can't sit behind the car. In the end, she was booked on charges of thirdderee grand theft, over $1,000 in stolen goods, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Because she used a child in the crime, she faces even harsher penalties, and she's already failed to appear in court. If you were the judge, what would justice look like for this mother? Somewhere else, another mom was losing control for reasons even harder to believe. On July 29th, 2023, police were called after a woman allegedly trashed her mother's bathroom and made violent threats. The argument started over something as petty as an empty cereal box. But by the time officers arrived, it was way beyond a family spat. >> Hi, how you doing? >> Good. Where's Kimberly at? >> There she is. >> Says she want to go to jail. So >> she says she want to go to jail. >> Want to go to jail. Coming here. Hey, what you doing, girl? >> Look at here. Come back. The house is trash and I don't want to hurt nobody. >> Okay. >> Y'all take her own this time. You done been here before? Have you been here? >> Yeah. I've dealt with Kimberly a bunch. >> She don't She not on my lease. Take her own. >> Okay. >> And taking my money. >> She ain't had no money. She don't get nothing. >> Can you go into the living room for me? >> She don't get nothing but >> I'm going to look. Will you go into the living room for me? We trying to get along with you. >> What is that? >> Thank you. >> Will you go into the living room, please? >> Yeah. Trying to throw that up like I'm getting [ __ ] >> What is this? >> Huh? >> What is that? >> She dropped the shower curtain down. >> Okay. >> And the stuff fell on the floor. >> Okay. >> Come in here bought a box of cereal. >> Okay. >> A box of cereal. I could I didn't know that was your box. >> I'm tired of it. >> Go somewhere. You can find no more money. >> She take my money cuz she know I'm dis. >> Are you trying to leave? >> I got a million. >> Are you trying to leave? >> No. >> Okay. What are you trying to do? >> I don't know. She keep threat to lock me up. Ask her. She got >> you. See what she did. >> Can you go on into the living room, please? >> Her reaction was wildly out of proportion to what caused it. Just a box of cereal. Smashing up the bathroom and threatening her mother showed a total lack of emotional control. Something often seen in people struggling with psychological instability or personality disorders. >> You want to go to the hospital? >> I don't care what you say. I don't care. He call the public. >> I know. >> I'll go to the hospital. >> Have you been taking your meds like you're supposed to? >> Yes, ma'am. >> When's the last time you took them? >> Um, every month. >> You just take them every month. You go to Advantage and get the shot? >> Yes, ma'am. >> All right. When's the last time you had it? Look, can you please just let me out of here? Please, >> we're going to When's the last time you had your shot? >> When was the last time I had my shot? >> Yeah. >> I don't have no shot. I don't >> You said you take your meds once a month. >> Once a month. >> Okay. When's the last time you took it? >> Can you please just let me out of here? >> Yeah, that's going to happen. But I need you to answer some questions so I can get you some help. >> Once a month I take my time. >> When are you due for another one? >> I'm I do it once a month. Um once a month. >> No need. >> Um every month. >> Okay. So, it's almost August. So, when are you due for it? Like what what day out of the month do you take your shot or take your meds? >> Um, every month, >> right? What day? >> Every month. Well, I don't know what day. >> Is it like the first of the month? >> The 15th. Okay. Get my other stuff. >> What other stuff? >> In here. >> Well, if you're going to the hospital, then you're probably not going to be packing everything. I'm not going to hospital. >> You're Kimberly. >> I'm not going to no hospital. >> No, >> I'm not going to hospital. Put this down here. >> I'm not going. >> Turn around. >> Not going to knock you. >> Turn it down. >> Hey, stop. >> Stop. >> Take on out of here. Don't come back. >> Her rage seemed like a desperate attempt to regain control in a situation where she felt powerless. The defiance, the refusal to cooperate, all of it made the officer's job tougher. Meanwhile, her mother, both the victim and a prisoner in this toxic relationship, could only defend herself with bitter words. >> Yeah, >> stop it. >> You doing that? >> Yeah. Yeah. Take your ass off. I mean, don't >> put your face against the wall. >> That's enough. Always always trying to kill me or something. >> Okay, you're not helping. >> Okay. >> Is that TV broken? >> I hope not. All right, let's go out to the car. >> Can you get my purse? >> Walk out to the car. >> And he threatened me with the hospital. >> Nope. You're going You're going to jail now. >> I'm not going back to the hospital for nobody. >> I'll talk to you in a minute. You're going to the jail. That's what you're doing. >> I am so scared. >> It's okay. >> Move. >> Do you have anything on you that's going to poke me, sick me, or anything illegal? Spread your feet. Spread your feet more. Further. I need to be able to spread your feet out further. You need to spread your feet so I can search you. When the arrest warrant replaced the plan for psychiatric treatment, her wall of resistance collapsed. Fear took over. Witnesses confirmed her violent behavior, closing the criminal chapter, but opening a tragic one. The deepest wounds, it seems, are often carved by the ones closest to us. >> No. All right. Have a seat. >> You're related to her, right? >> Okay. I know she just got there. I got I just >> Where'd she come back from? >> Me and her went to Burlington and then Coulder. My mom and nephew stay in Arbor Ridge. I know he couldn't have been brought her home. Somebody beat her. >> She broke some stuff in there and then while I was there trying to get her out to go to the hospital, um she threatened her mama told her she was going to beat her ass and knock the TV off the the >> She did that and y'all look it up. She got mad and that's what she did at this bigger TV. >> Yeah. >> She got she got mad and called y'all on us and it's on whatever y'all record >> and my mama had to get a restraining order then cuz she was you saw the hallway. >> She did this had my mama phone flip on broke it. >> Mhm. >> Did something. I said, "Woo!" I called 911. She was walking slowly. My mom said, "Get out." Blah blah blah. And she turned around at that time. It was on record. She shoved mama. >> Yeah. Well, she's trying to get at her and try to beat her while I was there and knock the TV off. And I was I was trying to get her to go to the hospital to begin with because it didn't it didn't get to go that far. >> She do. She's a patient at it. >> I know she I'm very familiar with her. >> I don't know. I don't >> But she went she went too far with me present. So, I'm not she's got to go to jail. Yeah. >> She need you hang out with her while I go back. >> She on probation or whatever and y'all going to find out. Do she need her per what she ask? I'm going to handle. >> According to her sister, this wasn't the first time. She had a long history of aggression, threats, and emotional explosions. It didn't take much to set her off. One wrong word and she'd lose it. As if attacking others was the only way she could feel in control. >> I don't think so, ma'am. >> She did it often. >> She did what? >> No, she pushed me down. >> Okay. >> Yeah. I'm not taking all that with me. I'm going to take her purse. Um, so the TV still works though. Yes. >> Okay. You want me to help you lift it? >> All right. >> So, what was the fight over >> about cereal? >> Mhm. >> Who who own her cereal? >> Mhm. >> I didn't know they were her daughter, her granddaughter. >> Mhm. But my son adopted. >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, he's out of town. He's out of town. He'll be back tomorrow. And so, I said, "Well, I buy you another box. I didn't know they was your serious." That's what she blows up about. >> Okay. And you used it to feed them? >> Yeah. >> Okay. What are their names? How old are y'all? You know your birthday? You're seven. What's your birthday? You don't know? Do you know their birthday? Did you buy the Do you buy the shower curtain stuff? >> Yeah. >> Okay. How much does that cost? >> Just broke the shower curtain. >> Well, who who owed her cereal? I said, "Well, I didn't know that the Rice Krispies. We got four boxes with it." So, I get cereal from, you know. I said, "Well, I buy you another box." Oh, I can't remember. Don't go there. >> She busted her. Thought we moved her pants. She sleep. My mama let her sleep in that room. She thought we move her clothes, her pants, and shirt. Then she found it. >> Y'all want some stickers? >> She found it later on, but she trust it. He's going to jail for criminal trespass for the shower curtains and um probably simple assault for How' you feel when she was yelling at you about >> In the end, she was booked on charges of simple assault, domestic battery, and criminal mischief for property damage. If convicted, she faces fines ranging from $500 to $2,000, possible jail time or probation, and mandatory mental health counseling. But her real battle isn't with the law. It's with her own family and the trust she's already broken. Do you think she can ever change enough to earn back their love? And this story doesn't end here because the next artist chose the worst possible audience for her performance, the police. On June 17th, 2023, police were dispatched after reports of a theft in progress. When they arrived, they found a woman standing near a vehicle that had been broken into behind a dealership. And what started as a minor incident quickly turned into a tense confrontation. >> There she is. >> Yeah, she's >> Oh, hi. >> How you doing? >> I'm doing good. How are you doing? >> Good. What are you doing? >> Um, I'll be right back. Okay. >> How you doing? Walking that way. >> Yeah, walking that way. >> Walk that way. You can't fit through here. Walk. >> Oh, we're going to stand over here. What's all this stuff right here? >> It's my boyfriend gave it to me. >> Okay. What are you doing back here? >> Um just uh I was about to test drive the car. >> You guys wore your cuffs. >> Got to do double off. >> I have all my stuff in that cart. That's my That's my car. >> That's fine. >> So I need to make >> You said you're about to test drive this car. >> Yeah. >> Mhm. You're good. Did you talk to anyone about that? Yeah, I sure did. >> Okay. >> I talked to officer Melinda over. >> Oh, you talked to Yeah. >> That's you. Yeah. >> See that push bar on the bumper? Turn on the bumper. >> Nice car. Nice. >> You want to ride? >> I already sent the registration. He purposely put somebody else's name just as a joke. >> That's just your car right there. >> I got I got preapproved three cars. So, I signed drive all of them. Okay. And then I have it saved in by email, but they but they hacked the the server. >> They hacked the server. >> Yeah, they hacked the Apple server. Okay. >> And I don't know. I was about to go on the phone, but then they started saying trespass and then I came back here cuz I heard loud music, so I knew something was up. >> So, did she You said I heard someone say she probably put water down one of water bottles all around. >> Okay. >> But yeah, she hit this with that little cart. >> Okay. Did she take anything out of any of the cars or >> whatever she's got in their car? >> Whatever she got, that's what this is. Is a brand new car. >> From the very first moment, the suspect denied everything and spun an elaborate web of lies. She refused to admit to the theft, instead flooding the officers with ridiculous details, hoping the noise would bury the truth. It was a desperate performance born from panic. >> And she picked the best Santa Fe. Yeah, it's structuring. I give you full authorization cuz that's my car right there. >> I stopped you not so long ago. Remember me? >> Yeah. >> Palonia Pine Hills. >> What was I doing at stop traffic? And I was like, "Bad boys, bad boys. What you going to do?" >> Something like that. >> Is that okay? >> What happened? >> I don't know. >> Why are you handcuffs? >> I don't know. They didn't tell me. >> It's totally legal. So, I'll break you off. >> Jeez. Look at that. >> Look like you know everything. >> Yeah, sure. >> All yours. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> She was in this car right here. >> Oh, you're in this car? Yeah, because I I heard loud music and I realized that that's much nicer than the one they were gonna have me test drive >> and they and they didn't. So that's >> What's up? >> This is your car. >> Actually, this is your car. >> Yeah, this is your car. >> Yeah. >> You're you're about to drive it? >> Yeah, because it said the little message said the little that I just had to take the remote and start it. So, I'm just going to test drive it. >> Oh, so you're about to test drive by on your own? >> Yeah, I wasn't. Yeah, cuz they said it. >> What were you going to go to? >> I was just going to drive around and do donuts and like what? >> Oh. Oh, and then come back and then drop it off like nothing happened. >> Yeah. >> Interesting. >> Yeah. And and I couldn't figure out how to like play my music cuz like while I was on my way >> car. >> Yeah. >> The car that I look You see the car right there? >> Yeah. Electric car. >> Where's your car at? >> It's the electric car. >> Oh, that's the car over there. Your car. >> Yeah, that's the 2023. >> With the car that I stopped. Where's that at? Oh, >> I got total two cars got total. The Toyota car. How? >> Um just like two seconds, didn't we? At least from one of the cars in the lot. >> Yeah, that's that's my car. >> Oh, this is your car. >> I have more than one car. >> Oh, you How many cars you got? >> Um, three. >> I don't know. 17. >> 17 cars. >> They're not all here. >> What do you do for a living? >> Um, I'm a drug dealer just like that. >> You're what? >> I'm a drug dealer just like that. >> Oh, god. >> How was she? Was she in the car? >> Yeah. Yeah, she was. >> Then came the line that made everyone freeze. I'm a drug dealer. Was she joking or confessing? Nobody knew. But instead of escalating, the officer handled it brilliantly. Calm with a hint of humor. His poise turned chaos into cooperation. >> Single 20. >> Ella. Ella. A under my umbrella. Ella. Ella. Perfect day for the rain. >> Yeah, it is. Where'd you get that uh shower head from? >> Uh it was in the bottom of my car right there. >> Oh, passenger side. Got >> they had all kinds of stuff. >> How dark is that tint on your car? Uh, I think it's negative 5%. >> Negative five. Okay. >> 5%. >> So, less than >> Yeah. It's It's definitely illegal, but that's how I ride. >> Oh, okay. Gotcha. >> How long do you have this one for? >> Um, what is that? A 20 24th. >> Oh, yeah. It is a 24. >> Yeah. So, obviously not that long. >> Yeah. Not that long. >> I like how you looked at your watch like it was like you had a calendar on. >> Yeah. What is it? 20 We're in 2024 now. >> 23 now. Okay. >> And it's June. >> Yeah. >> So, it's like back to the future. >> Oh, yeah. Wow. >> All right. All right, you guys will just get this wrapped out. I'll just keep sitting here for now until I get it settled with the plumber and I'll ride off by my sling with all the nice gifts that you gave to me. >> Look at this [ __ ] Did you know I work at Sparkle Car Wash? >> You want to get your car detailed? Come >> pull up. Pull up. Pull up. Pull up. And I want you to all have the pull up songs. You know what that is? >> Bad boys. Bad boys. What you going to do? What you gonna do when they come for you? Bad boys. Bad boys. What you going to do? What you going to do? What they got for you? >> It goes like that kind of >> that one. Yeah. >> Yeah. You know that one? >> Yeah, I think I know. >> Uh where is Officer Chum? Is he ever over here? >> Chum. Now, >> by the way, what are you guys doing over here? Cuz this is not your jurisdiction. >> This isn't our jurisdiction. >> No, you should know that. >> Whose jurisdiction? >> This is not your jurisdiction. This is Orange County. So, you have to tell me what are you doing here, Officer Melinder and all your officers. >> Hey, this is the city of Orlando. Yes, this is not city of Orlando. I'll show you. You look on the stop sign and you see that orange fruits, that means this is orange count. >> Yeah. Well, at the corner there's a um >> She was both crazy and calculated. Unhinged enough to act, yet sane enough to know exactly what she was doing. A thief full of contradictions. Reckless yet composed. No screaming, no struggle, just casual conversation as if none of it mattered. Oddly disturbing, but fascinating all the same. >> I almost got killed on the 140 on the uh what was it? 1344 back and you thought I was a volcano heroin. >> You aren't seen for that. >> No, I wasn't there for that. >> Yeah. Yeah, I'm definitely younger. >> You weren't here. >> No. >> Okay. Well, my name is all over that [ __ ] I'm going to go west southwest south. >> Okay. >> I'm going to get all my evidence. >> Oh, well, your evidence would like your per your property. >> No, no, no. The evidence of all the >> affiliations against me. Okay. >> Cuz you're abused first. Got you. >> You know, so I'm just going to give Wonder movie so people will stop thinking I'm some crazy psychotic 7:30 official 187 on [ __ ] cop [ __ ] and then when I release it, I'm going to make trillions of dollars because my LLC is called trillionaire swag and then nobody can ever say [ __ ] to me again. Like I'll even break your eyes off if you want. >> Am I being arrested? >> You're detained as right now. I don't know if you're going to go to jail or not. >> Oh, okay. So what determines whether I get to ride off of or say not >> the victims? >> What victim? >> Victim of this car, victim of the other car that you got into. >> I only got into one car. >> Okay. So whatever car you got into that you weren't supposed to be inside. We got to make contact with them. >> Okay. And then um that Spanish lady told me that I could test drive that uh 2.5 turbo and she never did. And then they started lying about my application. >> Okay. >> That's okay. >> I mean realistically the employees are going to do that. They don't want to touch on anything. Then they didn't tell me that. Hold up. They said they would love something. And then they all started saying that Gi wasn't here today and they were lying. They were all lying about it. >> I got you. >> Got to call customer service then. >> No, you don't call customer service for that. You call this time. That's my lawyer. >> Oh, there you go. I'll do that. >> We'll be in touch. >> Look at that. >> The more she talked, the clearer it became. Something was off, yet she was sharp in her own way. There was a strange charisma about her. The kind that makes you want to back away but also stay and listen. Like a stand-up comic lost in her own meltdown. She somehow made her chaos entertaining. Can >> you take my drink out, please? >> No. >> You like the swag? You want to keep it in? >> You can leave it in there. You can keep the swag right now. [laughter] >> Can somebody wipe my feet cuz they're really dirty. >> Oh no. We'll have to wait. >> Yeah. Where'd you get that electric car from? Um, I had Medicare, so I just like ordered it. >> That looks like one. Oh, okay. That looks like one from >> like from the grocery store. >> Oh, really? >> Yeah. >> Does it have a label that is from the grocery store? It just reminds me. >> No, it's got the same design as one. I've never seen that kind on the >> Wow. You guys, too? >> No, I just know about them. >> Yeah. >> Why'd you have the gloves on? because it's like black. >> I was I was doing Michael Jackson type [ __ ] I take music videos. >> All right, let's go this way. >> Oh, these are really tight. Can you loosen them a little bit? >> They're already You got three pairs on. >> Keep that gloves and put it where? >> Yeah, I got I got all your stuff. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Which charges am I getting here? Please don't shove me in here. Please let me know cuz they always they always like I don't want to be arrested. >> It's uh just hop in and I'll tell you. All right. >> Don't shut the door yet. No, >> we won't let that be. Can you copy your pack by police station? >> In the end, she was arrested and charged with vehicle theft after being caught inside a car that wasn't hers. Penalties could include fines, probation, or jail time depending on prior offenses and the value of damages. classified as either a misdemeanor or a thirdderee felony under state law. But as the laughter faded, the nightmare began. This time, the victim wasn't a stranger. It was a child. On September 6th, 2024 in New Mexico, police launched an investigation into a horrifying [music] case involving 23-year-old Brianna Stallings, a mother accused of abandoning her two-month-old baby and pretending nothing happened. When confronted, she calmly admitted to the act and led officers deep [music] into the desert to the place she left her child. >> Don't worry about me. Got it. >> Stay right here where the rock where the rock is. Where >> I'm sorry. The one right in the hot spot. >> Yeah, >> right there. >> Yeah, she's buried in >> that one just sticking out there like a big old pimple >> with all those things. >> She's underneath the rock. >> Yeah, she's underneath it now. >> All right, let me secure this real quick. I'll go around it. Spider on the underneath it. There were no tears, no shaking hands, just a quiet gesture as Brianna pointed toward a large rock. Beneath it lay the child she once called her little love officers fell silent as they secured the scene. What started as a missing person case had just become a homicide investigation. The next day, another name surfaced. Manuel Guen. >> Man, what happened? after she had woken up, she tried to wake up the baby and then she was saying she freaked out and she's like, "The baby's not waking up." And like what do you mean? She said like, "No." Like she started shaking her and she wasn't saying anything. So that's when I was like, "What do you mean?" Like try to pick her up and like try to like maybe like like shake her a little bit, but like don't shake her like too hard. She did and she wasn't getting up. So that's when I like kind of started like freaking out and we were like, "Oh, so we like looked up on online to see like how to do uh CPR for she." >> Okay. So what did you and Briana do? >> Well, we wanted to call 911, but she did. I got scared and I was like, "No, we're going to get in trouble." surgeries called 911 facing music right then and there. >> And then what happened? >> That's when we came out here. Her other friends have been reaching out. Her other her death I don't know Dez her friends Dez's last name, but Dez was here with her mom Friday. They're the ones that seen Manny and Brianna um on a blue pickup truck and they called do uh Detective Johnson right away and they that's when they caught them out there on Kercher. Did you know about that? >> Yes. >> Is there a baby? Did they take him in for questioning? >> Do you have any other questions? >> Or are they in the loose or >> is there a baby? So >> why are they loose? >> Because it's still under investigation. >> But they y'all found her. >> I know. But we still have I know. And this is part of the judicial system that we have to >> No, they should be locked up. They should be lost because Brianna wasn't taking her to her doctor's visits or anything. >> So, it's still under investigation. There's still a lot of questions we have. Okay. >> Well, what are they? >> Detectives quickly saw through the accident story, Sam, because accidents don't end with a buried secret. The couple seemed more afraid of legal trouble than the loss of their baby. The autopsy revealed the unthinkable. Multiple broken bones and traces of fentinel in the infant's brain. On February 19th, 2025, Briana was called back in. This time, the detectives had hard evidence. >> Back to that incident, right? Um, how did that night start off? >> Well, okay. when we were going to sleep. Well, okay. I was tired and Okay, cuz the whole car thing I I know I said that, but the actual the actual thing was I we were in the bed and I slept there because she kept crying and I didn't cuz I would give her bottles and I don't know if and then I would like, you know, pat her back. Sometimes they have gas, right? >> And I don't know what it was. She just kept crying and crying and crying and you know they say put skin to skin. >> You decide to do >> I just put a plastic bag and everything and just >> Okay. So why before did you tell us y'all were in the car? What was the reason for that? Well, cuz at first, like the time we were in the car to try to calm her down. >> So before you guys went to bed, y'all were in the car. >> Yeah. >> So there was some truth to it. Just not Okay. >> They did do an autopsy on Colani. I'm sure you're aware. We had her for a bit. Um, so she did test positive for fentanyl. Do you know why that would be? >> I'm not sure. >> Okay. Do you use >> I don't do I don't >> Does Manny use fentanyl? >> Has he used fentanyl? >> He hasn't used it whenever we got together or anything that I don't know. >> Okay. Um, >> so there had to have been somebody that she was around that was using because the baby wouldn't have tested positive if that would have been the >> Brianna, it's important you be honest with us cuz honesty is going to go a long way. So the only way that the fentanyl in her tissue still after all this time was she was exposed to it. >> When confronted with proof, the fractures, the fentinel, she scrambled to make up new lies, claiming the baby just fell off the bed. It was pitiful to watch her fake innocence. But what broke everyone's heart was her complete lack of tears for her own child. >> Often >> the time that we are I don't know. I mean, maybe after the ins and all that probably, but But that wouldn't have around it after the fact. Do you know what I mean? Does that make sense? >> In the short time that she was alive, she had to have been around somebody that either smoked it or something, right? So, was she calling at the time? >> Okay. >> She was still young. I had to like grab her and still carry her. >> Whole situation, Brianna. We're just trying to figure out why are these lab results telling us this. We know, you know. We're just trying to get the full picture of what happened. Okay. What happened to It's okay. Brianna, did he use often? It's a very addicting drug. Does he still use? No. Well, that's good. He changed to leave to make him like not not withdraw. >> So just so you know that this um the fentanyl substance was tested out of her brain tissue. So that's how we know she was exposed to it. And we just want to get a full story. I know you cared for her dearly. >> I mean probably cuz I mean he called her held her wounds. [clears throat] So maybe when the time that he did probably, you know, >> you would have injuries to her bones, to her rib, or to >> her leg? >> Did you ever leave her with anybody? Um, >> so it was primarily either you or Manny around her at all times. >> Okay. Was there any point in time where Manny ever harmed her or you thought that he might harm her or harm you? >> Okay. What about the baby? When the babies crying and wouldn't stop crying, maybe kind of got overwhelming. >> I don't know. She would cry a lot. >> Only when corner did Briana finally admit that Manuel had hurt the baby. At first, she hesitated, not from apathy, but from fear. Maybe she'd been controlled, maybe threatened. It was a toxic bond, part victim, part accomplice, trapped by her own silence. Her >> It's not fair to you, and it's not fair. >> You've been carrying this for a really long time, Brianna, and it's time to let it go. It's time to be truthful. >> I know it's good. >> Yeah, >> I know it's a lot. >> What happened? Did he hurt her on purpose? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. What did he do? >> It's okay. >> Did you really? >> That's what killed her. Okay. What did Manny do? >> What happened after that happened? Did I slip her? >> No. How did he hurt Kelani? >> Did he drop her? Did he throw her? >> Did he hit her? >> If she's crying a lot, uh parents reaction may be to start spanking. Is that something he did? Bri, we're not going to let him hurt. We're not going to >> some issues. Um, Brianna, so she had a couple of broken bones, I believe. Um, we can verify that, but and this was at the time or around death. Um, but then she definitely had a broken bone that was healing. So, this happened definitely before the incident. Um, so that's why we just have these questions and I and we know you have the answer and we're just trying to verify this. >> Detectives showed Briana the X-rays pointing to a corner fracture on the baby's knee, a type of injury that doesn't happen by accident. Her statement that Manuel had pulled the baby's legs matched the forensic evidence of prior abuse. When they turned to interrogate Manuel, he still denied everything. And I woke up and I was freaked out. But Brianna saw like, "Hey, the baby's skin is cold. Like she's not waking up." And that's when we went on our phones and we tried to look up Google. We try to look up like different ways of CPR. And we laid her on the ground where it was a flat surface. And then we started doing CPR like a lot of times. And then we put her on her stomach like kind of on my knee and then we kind of did it like on our back. So, she had another um injury picture. Um maybe this will kind of jog your memory as to what might have happened. That's that. So, this is your knee essentially, right? And right here was injured. You see that? It's more of a This is like an actual This is more of like a believe that the injuries are from CPR. I know they're not from >> You're doing good. >> Just take a second. Take a deep breath. >> We do this for a living, man. I know it's tough. You're doing the right thing. You're starting off. You want to tell us. >> Okay. So, just just tell us, man. I I already know. I mean, she was being fussy and I got upset and got her by her leg and y and she wouldn't stop crying. So, and I sat on top of her. >> Okay. >> That was not long. >> How long did you sit on top of her? >> Not long. Maybe like a minute. Maybe less. A little bit. >> Until until what? >> She stopped crying and then that's it. When did you know that she had died? >> Whenever I got her, she stopped crying. So, I thought she was like, "Oh, I checked her and she wasn't breathing." >> In the end, both were arrested. Manuel Gueen was charged with child abuse resulting in death after admitting he sat on the baby to stop the crying. Both he and Brianna were charged with tampering with evidence for burying the body. Under New Mexico law, Manuel faces a potential life sentence for fatal child abuse. Briana, as an accomplice, and for concealing the crime, also faces significant prison time. From the mother who abandoned her child to the child who can never leave his mother, even in sin, on April 3rd, 2023, police were called after a company manager requested help escorting an ex employee off the property. The man had been terminated but refused to leave. And what started as a routine administrative task quickly escalated into a tense confrontation. >> Ran my forklift and ran to his car. Hey, >> they act like they ain't seen none of that. >> Well, come and talk to us about it. What's going on? Hey, >> they trying to set me up. >> What do you want done? >> H >> What do you guys want done? >> I want him off the property. It's private property. >> Your manager? >> I am the brake manager. Yes. >> Hey, what happened? >> He's being weird. >> Hey, they act like they ain't just seen none of that. >> What? >> Dude just ran to my forklift and ran to the car. >> What? Your car, dude? I'm talking to you. >> Trying to set me up. >> You're You're being weird. Talk to me. Tell me what's going on. >> What? >> Where you going? >> Hey, it's time to go. Hey, it's time to go. Where are you going? >> Where are you going? >> I'm going right here. Look, it's time for you to go. If you do not leave right now, you're going to be trespassed. You'll be arrested. So, let's go. >> Be trespassing. Arrested >> cuz they want you off the property and we're asking you to leave. >> Hey, don't touch me. >> Well, you need to walk away. You need to walk. You need to walk that way and leave. Get in your car and go. I'm going to tell you how this is going to go tonight. You're not going to tell me how to go. They want you to leave and you're going to leave when I ask you to leave. And it's not going to happen any different way than that. >> Where am I going? >> You're leaving the property. They want you off the property. >> Off the property. >> THAT'S WHAT I SAID. DO YOU understand that? >> Walking up on me >> cuz we're we're going to leave. You're not going to walk towards those guys anymore. You're you're leaving. >> You can go where? >> Home. You're just going to get off this property. You can go across the street. You can go down the street. You can go anywhere you want. Just go. Hey, why is >> I know you're on camera. It doesn't matter. I'm asking you to leave. If you don't leave, you're trespassing. Yo, you can play this game all night. I don't care. >> What game am I playing? >> Because I asked you to leave the property and you you're leaving. >> Where am I? I'm walking. You're going out to the parking lot and you're getting off the property. That's what you're going to do. >> Hey, why is touching me? >> Go. Stop touching me, man. >> Go. Well, then leave. >> Quit touching me. >> Are you going to go to jail tonight? Why am I going to jail? >> Go. I'm walking. I ain't >> go. What is What is your problem? >> He wasn't exactly resisting, but he sure wasn't cooperating either. Every question turned into an argument. Every instruction became a challenge. It got to the point where simply getting him to walk away seemed impossible. With that kind of attitude, handcuffs were only a matter of time. >> Next time I touch you, you're going to jail. >> Hey, hey, hey. >> Go, >> then go. [ __ ] Hey. Hey. Hey. I a You're going that way. >> My car is this way. >> Your car is that way. >> Bro, my car is this way. Get the [ __ ] off me. >> You're not going back that way. >> My car is this way. >> You're not going >> Hey, what the Hey, >> my car is that way. >> Get your hand. >> My car is not that way. >> You're not playing this What game? What the? >> You're resisting arrest right now. I'm not resisting. >> YOU'RE GOING TO GO TO JAIL. >> START US ANOTHER CAR. >> WHAT THE touching me, dude? >> Stop. Stop. I'm not on the ground. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> What the [ __ ] >> We got that way. >> YOU'RE NOT GOING TO YOUR CAR. >> WHERE THE [ __ ] AM I GOING? >> JAIL. >> WHAT? >> TRESPASSING. How the [ __ ] are my princess? >> Cuz we've asked you numerous times. We're not going to play this. >> My car is not that way. >> Y weird as >> I know. >> My car ain't even that way. What the is y'all talking about? >> So this is a trespassing resisting >> resist. >> Yeah. >> What the [ __ ] >> You just don't get it, do you? >> Dude, my car life is going to be tough and you don't get it. >> Why the [ __ ] would I walk where my car is now? >> WHERE THE [ __ ] >> DON'T WALK. YES. DAD. >> WHAT THE [ __ ] I'm not doing nothing, dude. Dad, >> what the [ __ ] >> Are we going to carry you in a car? >> My Your car is right there. >> That's You're not going in that one. >> Where the [ __ ] am I going? >> In the other car. >> Where? >> Don't. >> As things spiraled, officers had no choice but to take him down, restraining and handcuffing him on the ground. Moments earlier, he'd called his family, and that phone call made everything worse. They hadn't even arrived yet, and the situation was already chaotic. I can't feel my hand. >> What the dude? >> Going to jail. >> Yep. >> Oh, dude. I can't feel my hands. >> Fine. >> Oh, what the [ __ ] >> Dude, you got this so tight. >> Is that his stuff? >> Yes, those are that's his stuff. >> Okay. >> This is either yours or your partners? >> Yeah, it's my partner's. >> Dude, these cuffs are so [ __ ] tight. I cannot feel my hands. >> We're going to check them again. >> What the is wrong with y'all? >> What's wrong with you? doing nothing. My car. Y'all trying to take me to a place I ain't even going. Well, you need to get off the property. >> What the [ __ ] >> Too bad. A 28-year-old kid. >> You and I are rolling in the same boat there. >> I'm 51 years old, man. I'm tired of this. Your name. >> Tell us what happened that you decide. You told him to leave. You called us to have him >> escorted >> escorted from the property and then we got the rest. Is >> she all right by the by the way? >> Oh, yeah. Let's see. I mean, I saw her go down. >> Did she go down? >> Yeah. >> This is painful. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> You all right? >> You all right? I saw you go down. >> Okay. I got to check my knees, but I'll be okay. >> Say again. >> I said, "Yeah, I'll be okay." >> Okay. >> I think it's just his sweatshirt. >> Yeah, I think that's the biggest problem. >> Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on, dude. Hold on. Chill out a second. I'm going to pull your sweatshirt up out of there for this one to help. >> Who's he on for dad? >> He called somebody. He said, "My people are on the way whenever." And then >> come through the turn style. Come through the turn style. >> And I told him I was like, "They are not allowed on the property through the turn style or anything like that. This we there's a reason we have the gates there. >> I know. There's a reason we gave him 55 chances to walk out of here." >> Yeah. >> We We'd have been all right if he'd have walked out in the parking lot and stood and wait for his people. We'd stood with him. >> But I offered to walk him out. >> The problem is when he walks back towards you, that's a that's either a passive aggressive or he's going to be aggressive. >> And that's not going to happen. And that's why when he did that, when he walked right by you again, he was being passive aggressive, >> trying to intimidate you. And we ain't going to do that. That's why we started. >> After gathering statements and checking for injuries, it looked like just another scuffle until his mother showed up. With just a few words, everything started to make sense. Suddenly, his defiance, his immaturity, his stubbornness, it all had a story behind it. And that story wasn't anger. It was heartbreak. >> Can I help you? You work here? I'm here if I can help you. >> My son, I need to get in there. >> Okay. Who's your son? >> Okay. He's been arrested. >> Okay. Where's he at? >> He's going down to the county jail. >> I mean, where's he at right now? >> Is he in your car? >> No. >> He's already gone. >> He's on his way to Montgomery County Jail. >> Dude, you get his keys or anything or >> He got everything. >> He does in his property bag. >> Okay. What you arrest him for? >> Trespassing and resisting arrest. >> So, you guys beat him? >> No, he resisted arrest. >> Okay. When you guys say he resisted arrest, >> he resisted arrest because he would not leave. >> He would not leave. >> Did you do any force with him? >> No, we didn't do any force with him. >> That's why we're just making sure. We got to get ignorant. >> It's just No one I'm not being rude. >> Yes, you are. No, I'm not. >> Yes, you're absolutely being rude. >> No, I'm not. >> Absolutely being rude. Absolutely being rude. >> I'm not assuming that we're going to beat him. >> Montgomery County, right? >> Montgomery County Jail. >> Okay. Cuz I can let them know what's going on. >> Yes, you can let them know everything. It's all on body cam. All of them. I don't care about your >> I know you don't. >> I don't. >> I know you don't. >> Right. I don't be on body cam too. All I'm talking to you. We're just talking. >> What are you getting offensive for? >> What are you talking about? >> I said why are you getting defensive? Cuz I asked. >> Why would you say we beat him automatically? >> Because it's just a known fact in the world. >> No, it's not a known fact. No, cuz your your fact is, but it's not a known fact. >> It's all over me. When the mother began defending him and painting him as the victim, the full picture came into focus. This wasn't just a man refusing to take responsibility. It was a son raised without boundaries, shielded from consequences. The entire encounter became a living example of how overp protection can quietly destroy an adult. >> You beat him. >> He would not leave. >> I understand that. >> You did not want to have to push push him out of here. >> What we're trying to what we're trying to understand is he wouldn't tell us anything what was going on. But I was trying to give you some feedback and he's like whatever. That's all we've asked him to leave. >> Well, what's rude is when you come up and say, "Did you beat him?" >> You're getting because I take it personal. I've never beat anybody, >> but you assume that it's going to happen. >> I I'm sorry. My son is black. >> It doesn't matter to me. It does. And you go to history. I'm not saying you >> But you said that to me personally. I did. >> You said that to her. >> I didn't say that to her. Actually, I said to you, >> okay, >> I mean people in blue in general. You know what I'm saying? >> But you got to understand that we take offense to that because we're not that you >> we are not and we take offense to every one of the officers that are. >> Okay. And that's maybe >> we all have a problem with it with the officers. Point blank period. >> Yeah. And and you know and it's not trying to put you guys but when you say that it does and we take offense to it because we aren't that we don't want to be grouped into the bad. Does that make sense? >> Yeah. Yeah. Totally. But that's the thing is oh he resisted. You know what I mean? But not saying he didn't because he's seen you and he also has like paranoid delusions at times. So that's probably even made it worse. That's why I was trying >> We were trying to understand. Yeah. He's not telling us anything, >> right? I guess there was something going on in there. >> He thinks that person >> He said the person left out to the car and thought he was going to go get a gun or hurt him. >> Never said, >> so he didn't want to leave. So, and I tried calling his phone, but evidently you guys probably were >> Yeah, he has it >> already arrested him or something at the given time. So, >> he's fine. He's good. All right. Thank you. Thank you. You're welcome. >> Thank you for being >> In the end, the suspect was taken to jail and charged with trespassing and resisting arrest. If convicted, he faces fines, probation, or jail time with bonds set at $2,500. And when a mother's shield finally breaks, another woman steps in, fighting her battle not with fear, but with pride. On July 20th, 2024, police responded to reports of an intoxicated woman behaving aggressively and disrupting a golf game. When they arrived, they tried to diffuse the situation before things spun completely out of control. >> I'm going to show you my receipt. >> I don't I don't need to see your receipt. >> Okay. Well, I want a refund for my money >> because I they they returned my my ma'am >> cuz clearly you don't want to be here, which is that's I'm okay with that. >> Honey, >> don't >> do you think I would be here if I don't want to be here? I that I don't know you. I don't even know why you're here. >> So, that's where we are. >> This is about a respect thing. >> Are you a member here, ma'am? >> I'm going to show you. >> I just want to know if you're a member. They're trying to figure out if you're a member or not. >> Okay. Well, that's the thing. So, they don't even like I'm about to call my mother and father and like I you you're both there. Everybody's disrespecting the out of me and like that that's the thing. >> Okay. Well, right now I'm going to ask you for your identification. Okay, >> that's fine. But you know what? I'm going to show you. I'm going to show you. I want a refund for my >> Go ahead and show me your ID, ma'am. >> You know what? You can go off. >> I'm done. You're done. >> No behind your back. No hands behind your back. You know what? Stop. Stop. Stop. Nope. >> No. Okay. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> I apologize. >> No, it's too late for apologizing. >> Behind your back. >> Okay. Okay. I apologize. >> Stop. Ma'am, stop. Do not fight. Ma'am, listen. Do not fight. Stop fighting. >> I'm not fighting. >> Do not resist. Okay. Right now, you are under arrest and you're resisting. Stop. >> Listen, >> ma'am. Listen. You are resisting arrest right now. Stop. >> Okay. Can you stop? Can you stop? This is Can you stop? Stop. Can you stop? Oh, this is fine. She honestly thought she could just walk away like nothing happened. More worried about getting a refund than obeying the law. But when the officer stopped her, panic and defiance collided. Her reaction wasn't just about being drunk or angry. It was total emotional collapse. >> Is this funny, you guys? >> Wait. Beautiful. >> You all right? >> Yeah, absolutely. So, >> what could have been a simple conversation just turned into you being handcuffed? >> Stand up. >> Yep. You want to open this door? >> Okay. >> Relax. Okay. >> Have a seat in there. >> Come on. Have a seat back. You know, >> ma'am, listen. Back up in there. >> This is not This is >> Go backwards. >> Go backwards. Can you pull her back? >> Wait, what? >> This way. >> There we go. Sit up. >> What is going on? >> Relax. Relax. Relax. That's why I just stayed to watch it, man. She She was on the course. She was screwed up. >> Do me a favor. Can I Can I get your name real quick and everything? >> Yeah. I'm lieutenant seinal PJ. >> Oh, sweet. Okay. >> That's why I watch. >> Do you have your ID? >> I don't. Yeah. >> Uh, that's my that's my >> What did you see when she was out there? And she was out there. We were on another hole and she sm you son to somebody else about 100 yards from us. >> Then we left went around and then the other group that we were with were was on the same green putting it. She drove across she drove across the green. >> They were literally putting it. She just drives across it by herself. And then she said she was coming back up here and that's the last time we seen her. And that was probably >> hour and a half ago. >> Okay. Witnesses said she'd actually driven across the pudding green. That alone made her arrest inevitable. But what really irritated everyone was her arrogance. The sense that rules didn't apply to her. And sure enough, with that attitude, she wasn't about to let anyone teach her a lesson, not even in handcuffs. >> Trespass her. >> Hey, Britney, you going to be trespassing this book? Okay, >> I don't care. I would love that. >> Okay. Do you have ID? I do. >> I promise I'm a good Britney. I I know. I'm a good one. I'm a good one. >> All legends. I'm I'm going to jump out of the car and then I'm going to get another felony. >> Door's locked. >> Huh? >> Door's locked. You're not getting out of the vehicle. >> Okay. >> You get If you try and get out of the vehicle, I'll charge you with escape, too. >> You got charged me with what? >> Escape. >> As soon as she heard the list of charges, her bravado faded fast. She started asking about her belongings, then about going home to her parents. That's when reality hit. The moment she realized she'd lost control of everything. house. I would love we can all we can we please go to my parents house cuz it's it's right here. Can we can we please like I I don't want like I can we please like can we please like >> Oh, thank you so much. >> Ma'am, listen up real quick. All right. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Okay. Your friend said that. I I saw him do the little money sign. You I I would never do that. >> Her desperate attempt to bribe the officers showed just how far gone she was. willing to dig herself in deeper just to escape consequences. It was the height of entitlement, believing money could buy her way out. By the time she was placed in the transport van, that outburst was nothing more than her final grasp at control. >> Got her. >> Yep. >> I will. >> Come on. Just go this way. >> I'll do Oh, no. >> Fine. Get out. >> Yes, ma'am. I need you to face this right there. I need you to separate. Stand right there. >> Separate your feet. If convicted, she faces up to one year in jail, probation, fines up to $1,000, and possible restitution, depending on local laws. And while this Queen of Chaos was losing her crown, somewhere else, another storm was just about to begin. On May 30th, 2024, police were dispatched after reports of a dangerously driven vehicle that nearly caused an accident and was seen traveling with its trunk wide open. When officers finally located the car, what their body cam captured was far more unsettling than anyone expected. >> What are you doing? You just almost caused an accident. >> I'm sorry. I'm trying to find my friend's house. I have my little baby here. >> Okay. >> I'm sorry. >> Do you know you have your hatch back up, too? >> Stop. >> What? >> You know your hatch is up, too? >> Really? >> Your trunk has been up for probably about 2 miles. >> Oh my god. Stop it. >> Do you have your license on you? >> Yes, I do. Sorry. I'm so sorry. I have it. This sucks. Why the [ __ ] >> All right. Her overreactions and constant apologies were classic signs of someone fully aware of their wrongdoing. It was an attempt to appear cooperative to soften the consequences. Psychologically, it showed she knew the cover up couldn't last much longer. >> I'm just taking your car keys. I'm just turning your car off. That's it. I I just took I just turned your car off. That's it. >> I didn't I didn't touch your dog. I'm just making sure it doesn't run out or anything. >> I got your keys. Yep. >> Thank you very much, sir. I'm sorry. >> Can you just take a seat, please? >> Thank you. I appreciate that. >> Thank you so much. Thank you. Yep. You're awesome. So, whatever. But you are. >> Thank you so much. >> Yep. Hang tight for me. Okay. I think you're driving under the influence. Okay. >> I think that I'm trying to get my baby home. >> Okay. Are you willing? >> Yes. >> Are you willing to do field sobriety exercises to show me that you're okay to drive? >> No. >> You don't want to do field sobriety? >> Nope. >> Nope. It's like >> Michelle seconds. >> Michelle, you're not I don't think you're okay to drive. Okay. So, I'm going to ask you one more time. Are you okay with doing field soriety? >> I'm not doing it. >> Okay. Do me a favor. Step out of the car. >> No. >> You're going to step out of the car. I'm going to make you get out of the car. So, it's going to be either or. >> For what? >> Because you're being placed under arrest for DUI. So, step out of the car. >> Why? >> I'm going to tell you one more time or I'm going to pull you out. Step out of the car. >> Wait a minute. Or why? >> It's okay. You don't have to pull me out of the car. >> You don't have to pull me. You don't have to pull me. >> Please make sure my dog goes to uh his place. >> He's watching. >> I'm sorry. Well, now you just caught another charge. It was that simple. >> What was that? What's that? >> The moment the arrest warrant was issued, she froze in her seat. The instinctive reaction of someone who knows it's over. She didn't yell or fight. She just clung to the only thing she could still control. Her refusal to step out. Her rejection of the field sobriety exercises wasn't random either. It was a desperate, calculated move. >> What's going to happen to my dog? >> Powder down. Yep. You got anything on your purse going to poke stick or hurt me in >> front of the car. >> What's going to happen to my dog? What's going to happen to my dog? >> Do you have anything else stick in a minute? >> We'll talk about that. No, not yet. I'm going to pat you down. >> Okay. Okay. >> Do anything on this post stick or hurt me? >> No. >> Okay. >> No. Have nothing except my big fat ass gut. Nothing. >> Nothing in your shoes? >> No. >> If you bring anything into the jail, it's going to be a felony. Do you understand that? >> Yes. Because I would love to take my damn dog, too. He's going to die. >> No, he's not. Is there a purse up in the front seat with you? >> It's in the front. And there may be something in the back. I don't know. But >> okay. All right. We're going to go. >> I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. >> Right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. Do you understand each of these rights as I've explained them to you? >> No, I really don't. >> You don't understand the rights? No. Would you like me to read? >> I really don't. No. >> Instead of worrying about herself, she talked about her pet. Perhaps her last emotional tether to humanity. As for her claim that she didn't understand her Miranda rights, that was a tactic. She knew that admitting comprehension would allow questioning to continue, and she wanted to shut that door fast. >> Why am I going to jail? >> I can explain that to you, but I need you to listen to me on these. Okay. >> Okay. Can you please make sure that my dog goes to >> Michelle? Do you understand each of these rights as I explain them to you? Yes or no? >> No. >> So, I I can't talk to you if you don't answer yes to this. Okay. So, I can't >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I I'm not being an [ __ ] I'm not. I'm not. But I need to know where my dog is going because I I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> I understand you're concerned about >> this. This is what I do for a living and I need to know. >> I understand concern for your dog, but like I said, I can't talk to you unless you answer these questions. Okay. So, do you understand each of these rights as I've explained them to you? Yes or no? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. I I I So your dog >> I I mean I understand that you're telling me gag you're going to jail and [ __ ] but I understand that. >> Would you like me to reread your Miranda warnings to you? >> No, I just want to make sure that my dog is taken care of. >> So your dog is going with animal services. All right. They're coming to pick him up. >> Can Can he go to my a friend's address? >> Uh no. Animal service is going to take him. So when you go when you get out of jail, you can go to animal services. >> How how soon can how soon is it that I can call someone to me? >> You'll get a you'll get a call tonight. >> I can have someone to bail me out tonight. >> You'll get a call tonight. But so here's the deal. So um you're being additionally charged with possession of marijuana under 20 gram. Okay. We found the weed in the lunch box over there. All right. So, um, >> uh, over 20 g. >> Under under 20 >> under 20 g. Yeah, >> that's what I'm saying. You're being charged with under 20 g. Okay. >> So, why is that not legal? >> Because you have to have medical marijuana card and has to It's not in its approved container. >> I do. >> You have medical marijuana card? >> Yes, I do. >> But it's not in its approved container. It's in a plastic baggie >> inside of lunch. >> I have it. >> I have my medical marijuana card. >> You do. I'm not I'm not denying that. But I'm saying that the marijuana is not in an approved container that you've got from the distributor. All right? So, you're being charged with that. And then you also have a pipe in there. So, you're being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia as well. Okay. >> By the end, she completely broke down. No more defiance. No more excuses. Her tears weren't for the handcuffs. They were for the old dog waiting at home. The only soul left that still needed her. It wasn't fear of prison that broke her. It was the realization that she'd already lost everything that mattered. I'm sorry. I'm just >> We're going to Northport. >> Nope. We're going to North County Jail. >> To what? >> You're going to >> I'm sorry. I can't hear. >> You're going to the >> You're going to the Sarasota County uh jail? >> Sarasota County Jail. >> Yep. >> Okay. >> You said you were coming from a wedding reception. Possible penalties include jail time, probation, heavy fines, and temporary or permanent license suspension. When reason fades, even a small mistake can turn into a full-blown battle. On February 21st, 2021, police responded to reports of two simultaneous disturbances at a bar, one of which involved a death threat against a woman named Sarah. Officers arrived urgently, determined to prevent the situation from spiraling into violence. >> Threatened me to kill me. >> You think that's okay? >> No, it's not okay. >> She just threatened to kill me. >> Just go that way. >> This way right here. >> That's not okay. >> What's that? Then, a friend jumped in, insisting she was just trying to help. But the officer knew better. The more people interfered, the messier it got. He firmly ordered her to step back. >> I've asked you several times. Let me see your ID. >> You can of course see my driver's license. >> Okay. >> I I 100% I'm just trying to help her. >> I would do anything to help her. >> I understand, but when a police officer tells you to step 100% I will give you whatever you want. >> It's all right here. Only when that chance is gone do they start resisting, running, turning defiance into an actual crime. That was the turning point. From stubborn to criminal. >> Turn around. >> I have literally nothing. >> Take your purse off. >> Heavily. There's nothing with me. >> All right, guys. >> Check it. Let me go. Maybe take everything. Yeah, >> she just kept coming back running in her mouth. Where is she? >> Yep. >> I'm going for you. >> Did she get away? >> No, she's in the car. Do whatever you want to do. They calmly explained every step, helping her see exactly why things had escalated. >> I was an idiot. >> Okay. And I asked you kept stepping away and you would not step away. >> I'm sorry. >> Have you made a mistake? >> And then when I asked you for your license, what did you want to do? Wrestle with me? So, you know what that means? Once I put hands on you and you take off running, now you've escalated it to a separate level. Now you're getting a criminal trespass warning and a city ordinance violation, not a state charge. I'm doing you a huge favor. It means you're not going to be fingerprinted and rolled for this charge. It's not going to go on your criminal history. It's an ordinance violation. That's where I'm doing you a favor. >> Okay? So, but what you've got to understand in the future is when we're trying to diffuse something and I repeatedly tell you to step back and you don't, it creates more issues. >> I was an idiot. >> Then when you take off running, it creates another issue. >> If I would have had to use force to detain you, it would have been another issue. I What I will need is you to sign for your criminal trespass warning, which means you recognize that Rock and Taco through me is telling you never to return. If you do, you can go to jail on the spot to go. >> And then you're going to sign a citation. It doesn't mean you're guilty. You live right there. Right. I'm going to go knock on the door. Okay. You're going to hang out with this other policeman. His name's G. Can you say golf? >> Yeah. >> Isn't that a weird name? >> Gator. >> Is that Gator Golf? >> Yeah. >> Mhm. I'm going to call or I'm not going to call, but I'm going to Yeah. I'm going to go now. >> Hearing for the little girl's well-being, the officer gave her a ride home in the patrol car. When they arrived, the child's mother was completely shocked and panicked. She had no idea her daughter had even left the house. >> Hi. >> What's up? >> Well, we have >> what was walking down Bella Street. >> OH MY GOD. I am so sorry. I know. I This is not what I needed. I >> Where's mom at? >> My mom went somewhere to go shopping. >> Okay. I told I he has literally been up like five or six times this morning and I said, "Okay, he's going to get out." He was like, "Okay, so what is that?" I saw that. I didn't see I like I kind of closed the door cuz his siblings were being loud and I don't want to be, you know, I don't want to be like ones without taking. So I am so Oh my god. Is this where he was laughing? >> Yeah, his his bed right up there. See how this like this door is locked? I didn't >> Okay. My mom never told me that she opened the door cuz I closed this last night when I went to bed. I locked it. So, and he popped this. Yeah. See, it's like it's a lot. >> Did he get that open? >> That's what I'm saying. Like he squeezed himself out. Oakley. No, no, honey. Ugly. It's okay. >> Oakley. Wait. Will >> seriously arrest. >> Yeah. Endangered children. Automatic arrest. >> Officers stepped inside to investigate and what they found was disturbing. Oakley's bedroom was filthy. Dog hair everywhere. Clutter and chaos. The floors inside and even the front porch were covered in grime. It was enough to raise serious red flags about the safety and living conditions for any children in the home. >> Oh, I remember home and I was I had them watching TV kind of, you know, calming down. He was in the middle prospect walking with his ball. He had his shoes on. Um, I'm >> so sorry. >> Let's call mom. Get her home cuz we can't leave them alone. >> I know. We can't leave them alone. I just >> Yeah. Did you know he was put in a picture? How did you know? >> I recognized him from when he was a baby. He said, "Yeah." Like his mom Katie said, "Yeah." >> I'm so sorry. Yeah. Here, you uh follow me. You got your phone? >> The the state of that room is also horrendous. As well as the front porch. I can't see the rest of the house, but it's probably really bad. So, we're going to be calling children services. Have they been here before? >> It's very dark out there. I really clean the room. I'm sorry that the room is a mess. But yes, I need to clean the front porch off. My mom is one of those people that is >> want Damn it. I'm like freaking out because this is not what I wanted. I'm sorry. I'm Dude, you know me. I'm I'm a really good mom. >> I don't know. >> The mother's frantic apologies and panicked state didn't lessen the severity of the situation, especially when officers discovered that child protective services had already been involved in the past. >> From what I've seen, you're not. This is not good. That's not good. >> His face is full. He's got dog hair stuck on both cheeks. >> Yes. because he is literally battling like a head cold. >> Well, it's also cuz his room is filthy. So, there's dog hair everywhere and he's sleeping in it. It's I don't know the last time he had a bath. >> He's getting a bath tonight. They get a bath every couple of days and what he does. I don't like to dry their skin out cuz their skin tends to get really dried out really quickly. Can I see him, please? >> How old you Harper? >> Mom, I need you. I see him. I literally just had over here earlier because of something stupid that used to do that at school. What he said? >> He said that I was hitting my sanction. I made it like full hand open and he said I was getting to his teacher. So the teacher had to call CPS for it. Okay. So CPS has been here. They know I just I literally been battling ahead myself. So I've been kind of behind on cleaning. Like normally I have the porch picked up. I have their room picked up. Like the house is barely picked up completely. >> I'm serious. I'm really >> I've been here a couple times and the porch has always looked like that. And when I peek in through the windows, it's looked like that. I'd like to believe you. I don't >> I do believe. >> That prior CPS involvement made everything worse. A filthy home, uncontrolled dogs, unsecured exits. These weren't just lapses in judgment. They were glaring signs of neglect. And it gave officers the legal grounds to take action and protect the child. >> 48 in May and 18 will be seven in May. >> I literally was like just about to put him down. >> So I was 11 hours like an hour cuz he was up like five or six times that night doing well. >> The police checked on the other children to see if they were doing well. You can stay with us. She's just going to go get brothers. >> Go get Go get brother and sister. Okay. >> Okay. Mommy get a bike, too. Yeah. >> Is this your scooter or is that brother? >> Hey, go get Where's your scooter? >> This is right. >> This is kind of awkward, but if you saw the state of that house, this would be a great street to grow up on though. Like, dude, I mean, I grew up on Meadow Circle with the culdeac. Fantastic. Pretty sure that kid's autistic. >> Yeah. Did you hear how he would repeat what you say? about that. She said CPS just got called last week because her ethan had told the teacher that she was hitting him and spanking him, which spanking fun. >> It's okay. Hey, it's okay, GUYS. >> Why are you sad? >> It's okay. Grandma's coming home. Why are you guys sad? >> She won't be gone that long. >> Yep. No bond warrant or no bond. >> There's no bond for >> It's okay. It's >> all right. >> She's just going to be with us for a night. >> Hello. >> She told you what happened. >> Um so thanks for coming home. She'll be >> should probably be with us tomorrow early maybe 11:00. >> So I have to take off work tomorrow. >> Hey. >> Yeah. Whatever you got to do. But I mean it's got to be a responsible party that can stay with him. I'm sure you're doing your best. >> Mom to come back tomorrow. >> Yeah. Oh yeah. For day one about the phone, right? All right. In the end, the mother was arrested and charged with child endangerment. This case is a stark reminder that even unintentional neglect, whether through poor supervision or unsafe living conditions, can lead to serious legal consequences. So, what happens when a drunk mother leaves her toddler home alone for hours? On January 23rd, 2025, police responded to the scene after a woman made a wide turn and slammed into the curb. At first, she seemed calm and cooperative, but that wouldn't last long. >> Hey, uh, do you have one that's uh more current? >> I know you dropped one. Is that >> No. Um, I'm so sorry. Um, what what is that one? This one is from dece June of December of 24. And do you have one in your name too or no? >> No, this is my husband's phone. >> Yeah, I saw the name. Let me >> give you my like I can get like the phone. >> What do you mean? >> Number >> for him? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Go ahead. You want me to tell him that you're okay and I just need the insurance? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Yeah, I can do that. >> Okay. All right. All right. So, I'm wrapping up most of the paperwork right now, but I got some questions and stuff I want to talk to you about. Okay. Can you turn the car off for me? >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. So, you're coming from >> Prairie. >> From Prairie. And that's where you live. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And you have kids at home? >> I do. >> Okay. How old are your kids? >> Two and three. >> Who's with them right now? >> My husband. >> Your husband. Okay. You said he was at work, >> but he's at home. >> Yeah, he works from home. >> Oh, got it. Okay. Does he know that you left? >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. Uh, what were you doing before you came out here? at home. >> You're at home? Okay. What were you doing at home? >> With my kids. >> Just with the kids today and the family. Okay. Have you had anything to drink today? >> No, sir. >> No. Any you recreationally? You smoke marijuana or anything like that? >> No. >> Nothing. Do you take any prescription medication? >> No. I mean, >> what prescription? >> Like anything that do you take a sanex? No. >> No. Like anything that they tell you to be careful if you're driving or operating heavy machinery? Nothing like that. Okay. All right. Um, what's your highest level of education? um bachelors, >> bachelor's degree of college. >> Yeah. >> Officers started by calmly asking for her license and registration. Standard stuff. But the woman's shaky answers and confusion raised some red flags. Something didn't feel right and the officers decided to dig deeper. >> First one, I want you to say the alphabet for me. I want you to start at E and I want you to end at W without singing. Okay? E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, P, Q, R, S, T, V, 58, 57, 56, 59, 54, 53, 52, 52, 51, 50, 49, 58, 57, 56, 59. 54, 53, 52, 51, 50, 49, 48, 57, 46, 49. >> 48. 45 44 43 42 41 43idol >> All right. Do you remember what I asked you to stop at? >> It's in reference to some 43. Okay. >> All right. What I'm going to do is I'm going to have you step out of the car. Okay. Come stand here for me real quick. >> This is my uh my officer. He has my other partner officer. He's our community service officer. So, he's just he's here just in case cuz didn't know if there was injuries. Step right here for me. >> So, I'm going to face me. Just stand just like this. Just put your feet and heels together and your hands down on your side. Okay. >> Do you wear any glasses or contacts? No. Nothing. Do you have any eye injuries or abnormalities? Okay. So, what I'm going to do is I'm going to take my finger and I'm going to move it from side to side. And I want you to follow it with your eyes and your eyes only course. Okay. So, don't turn your head. If you need to blink, you can blink. Okay. So, I'm going to start out. Just look at my finger. Just a tip. >> Don't turn your head. There you go. All right. All right. Can you see my finger clearly? >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. That's just to help you so you just kind of get an idea on how it feels. Okay. >> All right. >> All right. >> All right. So, what I want you to do is I want you to stand face this way for me. >> Stand just your hands and heels together just like this. Hands straight down on your side. Okay. What I want you to do is I want you to take your right foot and I want you to put it heel to toe just like that. >> Sorry. This is just instruction for me. Okay. So, stand just like I am. Now, >> your right foot, you're going to put your heel on your left toe. Don't Yep. You're just hold it like this for me. Okay, >> Alissa. Step back for me. >> Oh, no. >> We're not going to start yet. I'm going to give you instructions and I'm going to show you how to do it. Okay. >> Do you understand what I'm saying? >> Just stand there. >> They followed proper procedure and began a field sobriety test. It didn't take long before the signs became obvious. She was unsteady, slurring her speech, and clearly under the influence. At that point, officers were building a strong case for [music] arrest. >> You're going to look at your feet while you walk and count your steps out loud. Do you understand? >> Yes. >> Okay, you may begin. >> 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Two, three, four. >> One more. Okay. >> You want your feet like just don't just just just like this? >> Yeah. >> You want to put your hands in your pocket for a second? I know your hands are cold. >> No, it's okay. >> Sure. All right. Stand just like this. >> When I say begin, you're going to pick a foot, either foot of your choosing. You're going to raise it 6 in off the ground. You are going to look at your toe of the raised foot. You're going to count out loud in the following manner. 1,00 1,002 1,003 and so on until I tell you to stop. Okay. All right. >> Are you ready? >> All right. >> 1. Okay. Just pick your foot back up and keep going. 100 1,002 100,000 89 1 >> Uhoh. >> I'm okay. No, no, it's okay. No, it's okay. No, no, no, no, no, no. It's okay. >> She didn't pass a single part of the test. And here's the heartbreaking twist. While she was out completely intoxicated behind the wheel, her husband was at work and her child was left home alone. >> Go and put your hands in your pocket for me. >> No, it's okay. No, put your foot back down. >> We're done with that. >> We're done with >> I have a question for you. Okay. >> I'm going to be very honest with you. Okay. The results just added fuel to the fire. >> Lord, to help me make a decision. Okay. >> Okay. >> Are you willing to do it? >> If I don't, if I'm not willing to do it, what are my options? >> Well, he'll have to make a choice whether or not to arrest you or or arrest you. >> Yeah. >> So, if I don't do it, he will arrest me. But if I don't I'm not saying that's a guarantee. >> That's not a guaranteed answer. It It depends on his choice and what he wants to do as the primary officer. >> If I if I was I'm not the one here. Here's here's the thing. >> I genuinely want to know what >> How about this? I'm not the one making the decision decision, okay? But I'm his backup officer. If I was in his position, I would arrest you if I don't have a PBT accuracy. >> If I don't have an accurate number, >> so like obviously we have problems if we're like 0.1, right? Like triple the limit. We got problems. I don't think you're there. I can only see and observe based off the fact that I see a hand. Okay, does that make sense? >> No, it doesn't. >> So this gives us an accurate reading as far as that hand. >> So Alyssa, it's cold out here. I know you're cold. I know they're cold. I need an answer. Yes or no? Yes. All right. >> Deep breath. >> Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Good job. Thank you. >> All right. And you'll be under arrest for DUI. >> Nothing. Watch your hand. And I'm going to blast the TV. Going to do it. >> My husband isn't home with my kids. >> He's not. Where is he? >> He's working. >> He's working. Okay. We'll we'll try to give him a call and see where >> No one is home with the kids. >> No one's home with your kids. Where's your kids at right now? >> Okay. We'll see. We'll see what we can do to uh accommodate until your husband gets there. Um, in the meantime, just like I said, we have we have extra people if if you want to go to your park. >> Do you have a house key? >> Um, yes. In my >> She was cuffed and taken into custody. Meanwhile, officers rushed to her home to respond to an urgent welfare check. Inside, two young children unsupervised and left to fend for themselves. She now faces charges of DUI, endangering the welfare of a child, and multiple traffic violations. What happens when parents are powerless against their own decisions? On June 20th, 2023, Officer Morales and his team attempted to pull over a vehicle, but the driver suddenly hit the gas and took off. Not long after, the vehicle was found parked outside the suspect's father's house, and what happened next was a wild ride. Hi. >> Here's your house. >> My dad. >> It's your dad's? >> Yeah. >> Hey, I'm Officer Morales. So, my fellow officer came, my fellow officer tried to pull this car over right here. No. [laughter] >> Which way are they taking off? >> I got the door right here. Chris, >> are you code for? >> When police knocked on the door, the mother came out to speak with them. She danced around their questions about who owned the car. Eventually, she admitted her kids often hid things from her because they knew she wouldn't approve of what they were doing. As officers asked for everyone inside to come out, one young man tried to make a run for it, but was quickly tackled and [music] detained. >> Over here, let's go. >> I got you. Come over here, Kaylin. >> Come over here. >> Turn around. You got to warm your arrest. >> Okay. >> What's inside? >> Yeah. I got Kaylin Garcia. Over here, bud. Over here. >> What was your name, bud? They were all showing symptoms of drug use. >> Hey, she's I'm going to give you guys your trespass warning. You know what that is, right? >> Okay, cool. Which means you're not allowed to be here for a duration of a year. Okay? If you do come back, you'll be arrested. Sound good? Just hang tight right here, bro. Okay. I'm going to fill out those papers. Have you all signing? You guys get out of here. Okay. Just hang tight right here real quick. Two men, Edward and Malachi, were both given trespass warnings, [music] meaning they were banned from returning to the property for a full year. Officers suspected they were either off their meds or high. [music] Either way, the message was clear. This house was no longer going to be a safe haven for drug activity. >> The trespass notice. Okay. Which means you're not allowed to come back on the property for a reason of 1 year. You got any questions on that? Okay. If you do come back and they get evidence, you might they might put a warrant out for your arrest. Sound good? And if we see you on here, we'll arrest you for that. Sound good? Okay. She was facing multiple charges, including failure to pay fines, skipping court, fleeing police, speeding, unsafe lane usage, and running a stop sign. If convicted, she could be looking at 30 to 180 days in jail, or probation, fines, and mandatory rehab. Sometimes the deepest scars come from the ones who taught us love.
