Tell me. [laughter] >> No, I don't want to be near you right now. She's drunk and she had me and my sister drive and accidentally jump into the ditch and I'm kind of scared of hurting mom. >> What do you do when you see a grandmother drunk as can be forcing children to drive a family SUV like it's a ticking time bomb. >> I seen him the other night. >> You're so cute. About to pee my pants. >> You need you need to be checked out by the fire department. But you felt the effects a little bit before you got in the accident. >> Yeah, I didn't. >> Well, get ready because Karma's coming around to teach these Karens a lesson that the law isn't about to ignore. >> Car. >> Okay. Well, here's the problem, Andy. Your granddaughter has already told us she saw you. You were sitting in the back seat drinking. >> Yeah. >> So, >> on April 6th, 2025 in Illinois, a wreck on the side of the road pulled the curtain back on a heartbreaking betrayal of trust. Behind a grandmother's tall tale about a blown tire sat the stench of booze and the terrified eyes of two innocent souls. Here's what really went down. >> Hello. >> Hi. >> Mad 50320 for the ticket. David Young 24155DY 24155 Ford utility. >> I already have my do call the company. >> Okay. Do you know if you have a toe on the way to get it out? >> I believe so. >> Okay. Do you know what company it is? >> Uh I think it's um uh whatever is tan or what? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Is there any injuries between the three of you? >> No. >> No. >> For eyebrow. >> For eyebrow. Okay. You got a little bump. Do you need an ambulance? >> No. >> No. Okay. Um what happened? >> I just my uh my one tire was low. >> Okay. And it just >> just kind of jerked and >> Yeah. >> You sure you're okay? So, what's wrong? >> She's just >> just shaking her. >> Her [laughter] mom's coming. Yeah. >> Yeah. Her be amazing. [laughter] >> No, I don't want to hear you right now. >> Come here. Come talk to me real quick, please. >> She thought she could use those grandbabies as a get out of jail free card, but that sweet grandma act went south the second the officers started asking the kids questions. You could see the panic set in. She knew the truth out of a child's mouth would be her undoing. >> What's going on? >> She's had me and my sister died and accidentally jump into the ditch and I'm kind of scared of hurting. >> Okay. Do you want to sit in my car and backseat my car? Okay. >> Yeah, that's fine. [snorts] >> Okay. 53. Can you send me another possible 55? She wants you guys to sit in the car for now. You don't have to if you want if you don't want to, but um so now that you're away from her, what what happened? >> She didn't want us to tell us that she was letting us drive. >> She was she kind of drunk. >> Okay. >> She keeps yelling at us. >> Yeah, she keeps yelling at me to come over and I'm scared of her right now. >> Okay. >> And my sister was driving down the road and she like swerved. She got scared. >> Was she driving at any point or were you guys She was swinging up there. >> It also when we were down there, she was like swerving. She kept yelling at us to tell us apart. >> Okay. Where were you guys at? >> Uh what do you mean? >> Like where were you coming from? >> We came from uh >> Thomas. From Rul or Thomas? >> Ranch. >> Kind of. Yeah, Ranchul. >> Okay. Where were you? What were you guys doing there? >> Getting gas. >> Getting gas. Okay. Where Where were she drinking? >> She got She got some alcohol >> like a liquor. I don't I don't know what it was. She had like four or five of them. >> Oh, in the car. Yeah. So, [snorts] you went to the gas station. She got liquor. Okay. And then where you where you guys? >> I'm just glad. >> Uh before she was actually like drunk drunk, >> my mom came earlier to get us gas cuz we were on the side of the road and my brother went with her and I was glad because I'm glad he didn't get hurt. >> What about your brother here too? >> He was here, but but earlier we got we ran out of gas. So my mom gave us gas over there. >> Okay. And then as soon as we left, she started she was swerving >> swerving a little bit. >> Yeah, she almost hit like a bunch of cars. >> She was really good at it and I just wanted to drive too and then I didn't know what to do and I swerved into the thing. >> Okay. Um or do either of you have licenses? >> No. >> No. I'm 13. She's 11. Okay. >> It was only when they got away from her that those poor kids finally took a breath. It breaks your heart, doesn't it? Seeing grown-up vices steal a child's innocence, making them more afraid of their own kin than the brush with death they just survived. >> The other guy in the car, so I broke I broke it. >> Okay. So getting numb. >> Go ahead and get in your mom's car. I've got an ambulance on the way. So if you girls change your mind, we'll have an ambulance here. >> Yeah. >> I've got an ambulance on the way for her. You want to get them checked out before they leave? We can do that. >> Thank you. Yeah. Um, if you have any questions or anything, just flag me down and I'll come answer. >> All right. So, I got a statement from them. >> Yes, sir. >> So, you told me you were driving and you have a low tire and you end up in the ditch. Okay. Now, stop lying to me and tell me what actually happened. >> That that was part of the >> part of it, right? What's the full story? I had my grandchild on my lap. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> And we wrecked. >> Where were you coming from? >> That way. >> Oh, I mean like >> were you you live in Rul, right? >> Yeah. >> Is that where you started the day when you started driving? >> No. >> Okay. Where did you start driving >> from that road? >> You did you leave your house to get to this road? >> Oh, yes. >> Yes. Okay. So, you start in Rantul. >> Did you go to Thomasboro? Oh yes. >> Okay. What did you do in Thomasboro? >> We stopped and got gas. >> Got gas. >> Okay. So you >> did you ever go this way out of Randol? >> Did you run out of gas? >> Oh yes. Okay. So you start in Ran Tool, you go east. You run out of gas. >> We went to Thomas to get gas. We ran out of gas. Went to Thomas Borrow. my borrows, got gas, and then was going home. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Cornered and desperate, she started spinning a new yarn about being a devoted teacher. That driving lesson was nothing but a fresh coat of paint on a cruel reality. Her only real regret that she couldn't pull the wool over everyone's eyes one last time. >> Did you [snorts] buy any alcohol while you were there? >> No. >> Okay. Just keep in mind, you know, that Casey's video cameras, right? >> Yeah. You can check. No. >> You didn't buy any alcohol. Did you have any alcohol in the car with you before you went to Casey's? >> No. >> Okay. And then you went there, you got gas, and then you were headed this way with your granddaughter on your lap and then then what? Something happened with the tire and then you went into the ditch. >> Which granddaughter was on your lap? >> The middle one. >> Was on your lap. Okay. >> Um, and then was she was she controlling the steering wheel and you were controlling the pedals or what what did that look like? >> The she was controlling the steering wheel. I was controlling pedals. >> Okay. >> But it's not like when I was younger. I know. I know. She just >> What was What was your reasoning for having her get on your left? the >> Oh, what? >> Yeah. >> Oh, she she just wanted to practice driving. That was it. >> Okay. >> It just wasn't what she expected. Hello, sir. >> Hello. >> She wasn't. >> She got nervous. She's a very cautious person. >> Okay. Well, let's have him check you real quick and then we'll we'll keep talking. Okay. So, you've had four what? >> Um, uh, cut >> waters. >> Yes. >> When did you have this? Do you remember? >> Do you remember today? >> Do you remember like what time or was it lunchtime? Was it after lunch time? >> It before lunchtime. >> Before lunch. That's what you were You were drinking those in the car? >> No, I wasn't drinking in the car. >> Okay. Well, here's the problem, Candy. Your granddaughter has already told us she saw you. You were sitting in the backseat drinking. >> Yeah. >> So, just be honest with us at this point cuz we we already know what actually happened. But if you're honest with us, that makes us a little more >> makes us able to help you a little more. You know, >> with the truth closing in, she did the unthinkable. She used her own flesh and blood as a shield. Candy gambled away every bit of her dignity for a shot at a coward's freedom, leaving those children as collateral damage in her web of lies. >> Okay. What are the cans in the car that are empty? >> Oh, those are the pet waters. >> Okay. So, you were drinking the car at some point, right? >> Without the without the car running. Yes. >> Okay. But but then you drove after you had him. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> Yes. Were you sitting in the back seat while your granddaughter was driving? Cuz she told us that too. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, she wasn't on your lap like you read. >> Which one? >> She said both in the front in the back. >> No, no, >> we're not there yet. This is taking a lot longer than >> Okay. Hey, so we have a question for you. Would you be willing to do a PBT for us? That just kind of reads your breath to see, you know, if you're okay to drive or things like that because right now we don't have a lot to go off though. You mentioned you had a couple drinks earlier before the drone. >> Yes. You know what I mean? >> Would you be willing to do that for us? >> No. >> No. >> Okay. Do you want to do some field sobriety test? >> No. >> Okay. Well, go ahead and place your hands on your back then. >> Yeah. I'll double up the cuff so it's not as tight for you. >> Just so you know, there will be a camera on back there. Okay, >> you can step around. >> Okay, >> I'm sorry. >> What can I do to help? Uh, hold on. I apologize. Hold on. I can do this. That's why I was about my grandchildren. >> Anything I can do to help? >> Nope. In the end, she traded her SUV for a jail cell. She's looking at serious DUI charges, child endangerment, and obstructing justice. [music] With that wreck on her record, she could be facing a $2,500 fine and losing her license for good. That's a steep price for putting kids in harm's way. So, goodbye to the drunk grandma. Get ready to see how that family SUV ended up in a head-on dance with a guard rail. On December 29th, 2022 in Florida, a luxury SUV sits smashed against a concrete median. Candace, a woman who practically drips high society vibes, is facing the music, but the smell of booze is speaking a lot louder than her logic. So, what's really hiding behind that polished exterior? [snorts] >> Okay. Too much or what do you think? What do you think was going on? >> I just want my kids. They're just making my kids just took my girls for a brunch. >> Okay. All right. Um, are you hurting anywhere? Do you have any do you have any do you have any medical conditions? I want to make sure that we're going to get fire department here. Do you need do you need to be checked out by the fire department? >> Let them know she ran into a concrete barrier. The front end of the vehicle is still over in the air. >> This is my son. >> This is your what? Your son's car. >> My son turned 16 and he >> What? >> He drove my car for a long time. >> Okay. Do you have your ID on your thing? right there. Yes, I do. >> Okay. Do you mind if I get that out of there? >> Yes, sir. Yes, sir. >> It is right there. >> That's actually my kids. >> What's the What's the driver's license behind it, though? >> That's my daughter's license. >> Okay. Do you have Can you Can we get your license real quick? >> You want to do a control? >> Well, I mean, I'll go grab it. I'll go grab it. I just I'm trying to get your license. Okay. We're not. >> And you're promising you're not hurt or anything like that? >> I promise. >> Okay. >> I had a glass of wine chilling on my kids and I'm leaving Hills. You can go down the street. >> You've been doing a little drinking. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Are you feeling the effects of the alcohol right now >> at the moment? No. >> Were you when you were driving a little bit? >> No, my kids are not in the car. My kids are winning and it's been 17. >> But you felt the effects a little bit before you got in the accident. >> Yeah, I didn't. >> Okay, let me let me see if I can turn off these windshield wipers over here. Step over there. >> Yeah, I did. >> I'm going to try to turn these windshield wipers on. >> So, you were coming from Hillstone? >> Yeah. >> And so, how did how did this happen exactly? Do you remember what happened? >> This road is usually not blocked. >> What's that? >> This road is usually not blocked. So, I was coming. >> Well, I believe this road's been blocked for months and months now, hasn't it? >> I haven't been to Hullstone since they changed the Thai steak noodle salad. >> Okay. Yeah, this road has been blocked off for almost like a whole year. >> Okay. Well, I haven't come back here since they stopped serving my salad. So, >> she tries to play the mother of the year card to dodge the criminal label, even going as far as blaming a bad salad for her losing focus. It's a desperate attempt to make sense of her own recklessness with some of the most backward logic you've ever heard. your fire department and let them know. Make sure you're not hurting or anything like that. Okay. >> Please don't do it. >> Okay. You don't have any medical conditions or anything? >> No. Did anything happen that made you w into it or just not paying attention? >> Probably not paying attention because I was going to rent that house not a year ago. I've had two glasses of wine. >> All right. You're going to walk over here. Okay. We're going to talk over here. >> All right. So, what we are going to do, um, we're going to I'm going to conduct a DUI investigation. Okay. Um, I have another officer. He's going to come and conduct the crash. All right. What we're going to do, I'm going to grab some tape and we're going to walk over here to the sidewalk and we're going to do everything over here. Okay. >> Before we do any of that, um, I'm going to ask you some questions, but because this is a DUI investigation after a crash, I do have to read your Miranda rightites. Now, let me let me explain something to you. What was your name? I'm sorry. Cassandra. >> It's Candace. >> Candace. Through the exercises, we can still do that. >> What is that going to do? >> It can acknowledge that I've been drinking. >> Right. But everything everything we do um will give me an idea as to your entire state of mind, okay? And your entire your entire physical ability. Um you don't you are not required to. I can't force you to do so. But do understand that you know that those choices can be used against you in a court of law. You could get your license suspended if you refuse to do any tests that we ask you to do. Does that make sense? Um so but again, I can't force you to I can't arrest you for not doing them just for not just for not doing them. But I would take everything else into account here into consideration based on my >> um based on the evidence. Okay. So you tell me if you're willing to take the exercises. >> You want me to walk a line? >> We're going to be doing a couple things. Yeah. But if you if you're going to be willing to do them, I'm going to have you step over here on the sidewalk with my officer while I grab some tape. >> Okay. >> All right. Go ahead and stand on the sidewalk right there with Officer Burkheart. Let me grab some tape for the line. Okay. >> Can you let them know that I have tons of alcohol in my car because of my my daughter's 21st birthday? >> Are any of those containers open? couldn't tell you or not. She's had my car. >> The moment she feels her freedom slipping away, the attitude comes out. She starts acting like being investigated is some kind of personal insult. Instead of facing reality, she expects the officers to follow her rules instead of the laws of the state of Florida. >> And do you know how fast you were going before you struck that? >> Um I before the impact, >> I was going brick speed, but I I haven't been down this way since that. >> She said brick speed. What do you think that? How fast was that? >> Brick speed. 2025. >> Okay, >> that's crooked. You're not going to judge me on that. >> All right, so like I said, I'm going to start the DUI investigation now. Okay, >> it's fine. You already smelled alcohol, Burke. It's okay. >> When the crash occurred, did you hit your head? Did you get injured on your head? Did you lose consciousness? >> I don't know. It just happened so fast. >> Okay. As far as we know, you can't recall. >> No. >> Are you comfortable wearing these shoes when we do this test or would you rather do it barefoot? >> I can wear my shoes. >> You wear your shoes. All right. Okay. So, this first thing we're going to do is called horizontal gaze nestagmus. Okay. >> Can I just walk along? >> No, there's there's multi Cash isn't coming to play here. >> No, right now. No. Okay. >> I So, there's three types of exercises that we do. Okay. And we're going to we're going to run through all of them. And before I do each of them, I explain each of them to you and I demonstrate how they work to make sure that there's no misunderstanding how to do it. Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, this first one is called the horizontal gaze and stagnas. What I need you to do is I need you to stand here, put your feet together like this, and keep your arms down to your side. Can you face me and do that right now? You can keep your >> like that. >> Yep. That's fine. >> Yep. Just like me. So, you see the pen right here? Yep. >> Okay. You see the tip of the pen extending out? >> So, I need to get my glasses on if you're going to be >> It's up It's up to you. Would Would Would Would Would Would Would Would Would Would Would Would Would Would Would Would Would Would Would Would Would you see better if you had your glasses >> if you're far away? >> I'm going to be right here. This is as far as we're going to be. Okay. Can you see the tip of the pen? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, what I need you to do is I need you to follow the pen. Look at me right here. Look at me. I need you to follow the pen with only your eyes, keeping your head straight. Does that make sense? So, you're going to keep your head like this, and you're going to follow the pen. Watch my eyes like this. See how my head stays still? That's what I need you to do. Okay. >> Walking. >> No, we're going to stand here. Just stand still. Keep your hands down. Okay. >> Okay. Are you >> the wind? >> You want to rub your eyes? You can do whatever you >> crying. Okay. Am I looking? >> Knowing she's about to fail that eye test miserably, she demands to skip straight to the walking part to save face. She truly thinks she's sober enough to put on a show, but we all know that no amount of willpower can outrun a bottle of liquor. >> Okay. >> I don't think my eyeballs move out that much. Yep. Okay. Next. >> All right. One more thing. Keep watching the pen. Face me again. >> I have Christmas presents in here. >> We We'll deal with those in a second. They're not going to take off before we talk to them. Okay. You need to get some stuff out of there. We can do that. So, keep watching the pen. You need to rub your eyes. Get some get some >> I'm sorry. >> It's okay for your dad, too. >> I just want to make sure your eyes are open. You can see everything clearly. >> Yeah. Let's go. >> Okay. So, watch the eyes. I'm going to go up and down now. Okay. >> Okay. >> Is that glass? >> Sounded like it. >> Wow. >> So, what we're going to do next, this is what you've been asking about, the walk on the line. Okay. Okay. It's called the walk and turn. What we're going to do before you don't do anything. I'm going to explain everything to you and I'm going to demonstrate it all before we do anything. Okay. >> I've never My son and I have never been able to walk in line. We're like >> your right foot and put it in front touching your right heel to the left toe. Can you do that? >> Y. >> Okay. Now, we need you to stay just like that and keep your arms down just like this. Do you see me? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Yeah. >> Stay just like that. Yeah. Left foot and then right foot and keep your arms down. Okay. >> Keep my arms down. >> Yeah. Keep your arms down by your side. >> Look at that. I guess what you're you're what you're considering is what? Sober people. >> Yeah, that's pretty much what it's looking for. They're not going to leave until we talk to them. Okay. >> Okay. Well, get your right foot up here. Just like this. >> All right. Go. >> Hold on. Now, listen. Like I said, I need you to wash your feet, keep your hands down, and count your numbers out loud. Okay. You are free to begin whenever you're ready. >> 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 All right, we got one more thing we're doing. Okay, this is called the one leg stand. Remember how you hear about people doing the whole lifting your leg up thing? That's what we're going to do now. >> I'm calling I'm calling Jane Curtis in that one music. >> Okay, >> you're too young. You guys are too young. >> When her body finally betrays her, she tries to laugh it off to hide the shame. She turns the field sobriety test into a game. But that forced laughter is really just the sound of desperation when she realizes her legs aren't taking orders anymore. >> So, do you understand what I'm saying? Yes. >> How do you understand how to do it? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, you may begin whenever you're ready. >> 1004 105 160. >> Keep going. >> You're supposed to count out loud. >> Oh, you messed me up. >> Okay, that's good. All right, just hang out here. I'll be right back. Okay, so Candace, here's what's going to happen. Because of everything, you do have to place under arrest for DUI. Okay. What we are going to do, if you want us to take some of the stuff out of here and we can take it back to our station for safekeeping, so you can come grab when you get out. >> All right. I have to sit in jail over there. >> I don't know how long they'll keep you in there. >> What do I get out? >> I have no idea. Hey, hey, come here. Come here. Do you have stuff in there you need to get out or is everything in there? Is it okay to go with the car? >> No. Please don't. Please. >> All right. >> Put your hands together. Hands together like your friend. Put your hands palms together. Put your palms together. Turn your hands other way. This way. Right there. There you go. Can we get your braces off here? Let Let Officer Burkhart take your braces off there. >> Do you ever take these off? >> No. >> I see why. All right. Now, I'm not going to pull on you. Leave them. >> I just need to make sure that that ring doesn't come off. >> Did you hear it or does somebody flag you down? How'd you get out here? Sure. You don't have a car. Just happened to be here. I was taking a shortcut. >> Oh, I didn't see it. >> But I saw her getting out. >> Okay. So, you're a wheel witness. Yes. Perfect. >> There you go. >> Hold on one second. >> What happened to your arm? >> Huh? Yeah. Hold on. That's the air. >> Go ahead and have a seat. Works better if you Well, if you get in. All right. It's up to you. I say it works better if you put your butt in first. So small. >> I'll walk ahead. >> In the end, she traded her luxury ride for a ride to the county jail. She's looking at charges for DUI, property damage, and resisting an officer. In Florida, a first-time offense like this can cost you up to $1,000, lose you your license for a year, and land you in jail for 6 months. A wrecked car can be fixed, but a drunken ego trying to outsmart the law, well, there's just no fixing that. On August 19th, 2025 in Florida, a woman was caught speeding right as school was letting out. Instead of pulling over when the sirens wailed, she kept on driving like she owned the road before finally deciding to stop. So, what was really behind that bold attitude? >> They went to talk with the driver some more. >> Hi, ma'am. I'm officer Khan. I'm with Palm Beach's Police Department. So, what's going on today? >> I'm just going back to my boyfriend's house. >> Okay. Where are you coming from? >> I'm coming from work. >> Work? Where do you work? >> I work a lot of places. >> Okay. Well, where were you working today? >> Today I was working in Palm Beach. >> Palm Beach Hardens is a city. Where in Palm Beach were you working? >> Publix. >> Publix. Okay. What Publix did you work for? Okay. What's your position there? >> Cashier. >> Cashier. How long you been working for him? >> Long time. >> Long time. What time did you work? >> Like 9 to5. >> 9 to5. Do you know what time it is right now? >> Yes. >> What time is it? >> 3:03. >> Okay. Okay. So, how did you work 9 to5 if right now it's 3:03? >> Yeah, not currently. >> Okay. So, I'm going to have you step out of the car. Please turn your car off and come on and step out. >> No, thank you. >> Okay. So, I am ordering you out of the car now. If you refuse to get out, I'm going to have to remove you by with my own hands. And I don't think you want me to do that. Okay. >> I don't understand what's the problem. >> I'll tell I'll tell you when you step on out, please. >> No, thank you. He is giving you a wall of water to step out of the vehicle. Let's go. >> If you do not exit your car, you will be charged. Step out of the vehicle. >> Please step out of the vehicle. >> No, ma'am. It does not work like that. Step out of the vehicle. >> No, thank you. >> Drunk as a lord, but she still wanted to play the model citizen. When told to get out of the car, she pulled the typical high and mighty Karen routine to keep her seat. She thought that car was her private kingdom, but the officers were about to give her a muchneeded reality check. >> To have all my things back. >> Okay, you are not leaving. You are detained at this time. It is a tra This is a traffic stop. Not only that, but I suspect you're impaired. >> In fact, >> I do not suspect. >> Nope. >> You close the door. >> Nope. Nope. Do not do this. >> Do not do this. >> Car's off. I'm reaching across to take your seat belt off. >> Time to get out of the car. >> Get out of the vehicle. >> Nope. >> At this point, you're going to be char resisting. >> Get out of the vehicle. >> Out of the vehicle. >> Do not make me pull you. Please get out of the vehicle. >> Get out of the vehicle. >> Please get out of the vehicle. You are not. You haven't moved your feet. Please swing your feet out. >> Get out of the vehicle. Swing. No. Please bring your legs out. >> You haven't done anything yet. >> Do it now. Get out of the vehicle. >> I'm going to give you to the count of five. Swing your legs out. >> No, it's not even five. Get out of the car. >> Get out of the car. >> Swing my own money. >> I have a very bad leg. >> I'm holding your arm. Get out of the car. >> Just get out of the car. >> If you turn your car on and put it into gear. I already turned your car off. >> I already turned your car off of the car. >> No, I >> Out of the vehicle. Out of the vehicle. >> No, you didn't. Cuz I just reached in your car to do it. All right, we're done. We're done. No. Get out of >> Stop. >> At this time, you're under arrest for driving under the influence and resisting. Put your hands behind your back. >> Oh, I >> did not turn my car off. >> In fact, I did. I saw my camera that I raced to your car and hit your butt. >> Okay. Well, >> you're under arrest for driving under the influence and resist. >> The moment her delusions hit a wall, she started acting like a child, faking an injury to get out of trouble. But there's no hiding the truth when your own body is screaming intoxicated. Every stumble just made her clumsy little act look even more pathetic. >> So just so you understand what I have cuz I'm what's I I'm I've gone what's called with what is through drug recognition expert training. Okay. It's my job to recognize when people are impaired. Okay. I already have more than enough to suspect you're impaired. You got bloodshot water eyes. Your speech is slur and th slurred and thick. Okay. I got strong orders. I've got strong orders of alcohol. I didn't say anything about your face being red. In fact, I have rosacea, too. I can I'm sure you can see it. My face is very thin. Okay, >> that's not something that I talked about, but you have other indicators of impairment. Not to mention, sit down. >> Sit down. >> Not to mention the fact that you were traveling 50 and 45. All right. >> I'm not through a school area. >> So, I suspect you were impaired. Okay. At this point, you've already resisted me. I have every right to take you to jail for just the resistance. I ordered you out of the car. Pennsylvania vims. No, please listen. Pennsylvania Pennsylvania Pennsylvania vmsims, which is a a United States Supreme Court case law says that when I order you out of the car, you have to get out. You told me no. I had to go in your car, open your door, reach across you to turn your car off, which is on my body camera. All right? And unbuckle you to get out because you would not get out. >> Unbuckle me. >> In fact, I did. Please stop. That that already alone tells me you're impaired because you don't comprehend what's going on. All right? I am affording you the ability to dispel my suspicion that you are impaired by do by doing standardized field sobriety tasks. Will you participate? >> No. >> Okay. So, I already I like you're already under arrest for resisting. All right. I have to I I am affording you the ability to dispel my my suspicion of your impairment. >> Refusing to participate in these standardized field tests takes that away. >> I'd like >> refusing to participate in SFST can be used against you. >> Do you understand what I just informed you? >> I'd like my lawyer. Do you understand what I just told you? Yes or no? >> Lawyer. >> It's a yes or no question. >> I like my lawyer. >> Okay. So, uh, >> I like my lawyer. >> When the waterworks didn't work, she tried to hide behind a lawyer. Demanding an attorney before the questions even started is a classic move for someone who knows exactly how deep of a hole they've dug for themselves. She was just trying to build a wall against the truth. >> Driving under the influence. Your car is being towed. I'm going to go through it and I'm sure I'm going to find some sort of alcohol in there because there's a there's a nice metal container with a clear liquid in the very in the center console that I've already seen. >> No, there isn't. >> Okay. Well, obviously you must think I'm or stupid. Sorry. Excuse my French. >> We are going to go to the back of my car. >> Something about something else. >> Let's go. >> Turn around. You're my car. >> Can I get my other sho? >> Nope. You're not getting anything right now. >> No, no, no. >> No, we'll get the other shoe in just a moment. Just walk. >> My radio's dead. Can you call? >> We're on 17. Let me open. Just lead onto the 1050. >> Yeah. >> We're going to have a female 1015. >> Signal one and >> signal one and resist. >> I'm not resisting. >> You did when you refused to get out of the car. When we get down there, I'm going to ask if you'll provide a breath sample. Will you provide that breath sample? Yes or no? >> I need I see my lawyer. >> I need an answer. A yes or no. I >> see my lawyer. I >> I need an answer. Yes or no? Please. >> Like my lawyer. >> Okay. So, >> you haven't read my tailor. >> I did give you your tailor. >> I'd like >> refusing to participate in SFST can be used against you. >> If you did not comprehend them, that's up to you. So, I'm now requesting you submit to a lawful test of your breath for the purpose of determining it alcohol content. Refusal to submit to the test I've requested is admissible at evidence in any criminal proceedings. Do you understand what that means? >> Yes or no? >> Denying her own history was just her way of checking out of reality to escape shame. She'd rather drown in her own lies than face the broken reflection of a repeat offender. It's sad really how far someone will go to avoid looking in the mirror. >> The very fact that you use the term Taylor warning when I didn't tell you that it was called Taylor tells me that you've had a DUI before. In fact, I know you've had a DUI before. All right. And the fact that you're not answering this and you already have a prior suspension on your record tells me you know exactly what's happening here. >> I've never had. >> In fact, you have in 2011. It shows it when I pull up your record. So, I said, "You must think I'm dumb. So, at this point, I'm going to take take the fact that you're refusing to talk to me, that you're refusing to do anything at this point that as a refusal. Your license will be suspended for 18 months, and the fine associated with that suspension is over $1,000 on top of anything to do with a DUI. So, roadside refusal traffic just for 14 roadside refusal. >> Strong orders. Uh, >> hold on. >> Nice. >> Hold on. Triple nice. >> Hold on. >> Quadruple. Nice. >> You want me to do a inventory? >> Yeah, please. I'm going to put these up on my hood and just take a quick photo of them. >> Yeah. >> Beach day. >> Piss. Oh, she's It looks like she's wearing a bathing suit. With a car full of evidence, she was hauled off to jail facing charges of nonviolent resistance, DUI, and refusing a breathalyzer. The court didn't go easy on her either. 12 months probation, her license yanked for 6 months, plus an extra 18 months for refusing to blow, and over $1,000 in fines, not to mention AA and victim impact meetings. Arguing with a cop is never smart, but jumping out of a moving car like this lady did, well, that's just a whole new level of not thinking straight. On July 30th, 2025, officers in Panama City were left scratching their heads when a woman took a leap of faith, literally jumping out of her moving car, not once, but twice in the blink of an eye. What started as a minor traffic stop quickly spiraled into a desperate scramble to hide a dark secret. And honey, this playbyplay is enough to take your breath away. Well, the second time he pushed me out. First time I did it in my own will. The second time was a happy happy. It was a happy happy like half me out, half he pushed me out. >> But are you okay? What uh specifically? Like I'm not >> I don't want to get him in trouble. So >> um so what happened today? >> He was just yelling at me and vocally abusing me in the car and I just couldn't take it. >> So you jumped out of the car? >> Because he was saying very horrible things to me and I couldn't take it. Does that make me get arrested? I'm just trying to make sure you're physically okay from jumping out of the car a little bit fine. >> Okay. All right. Hang out right here while I go talk to him. Okay. So, what happened? What's going on? >> She's jumped out the car twice in 30 minutes. >> What's going on? >> How fast were you going when she jumped out? >> The first time she jumped out at when I was on uh Primos City Road. Is that what it was called? Primos City Road. Okay. >> In front of Senior Prague. >> Okay. Okay. Front Beach Road. >> Yeah. I'm going to speed lift the 25. >> Can't go fast. Everybody's on there. She jumps out. I turn around. >> Single 15. What are >> you doing? She's just drunk. She's mad. So I come back and go get her again. And then over here, I tell her, I was like, "You're not going to do that again, man. I'm going to start recording you cuz I'm not going to be the brownkinned dude with the white girl getting in trouble for this." >> And she's like, she's like, "Oh no, get out. Stop right here. Stop right here." I was like, "All right, cool. I'll stop right here." And then and then when um >> All right. So what is your plan for today? He bought my plane ticket home. I was going to fly tomorrow. tomorrow. So I think that I think that when it you're grieving obviously. Okay. And when it comes to grieving, you maybe overindulged on a little alcohol and I think that's why we're in this position right now. Would you agree with that? >> Not completely. >> Um why not? >> Because he has any if me saying completely will get us out of this and go home. Yes. >> Yes. Yes. Completely. Yes. Yes. I'm I'm an alcoholic. Yes. Sure. >> That's not what I said. >> I want to go home. So, I can't take you home. >> I know that he can. So, whatever can make it so I can just go with him and deal with it when I get back. That's fine. >> I can't have you jumping out of the car. >> I fell out accidentally. >> I can't have you acting out. >> I didn't I fell out on accident. It was like really frustrating when I like my elbow and I fell out. >> Are you okay? >> I'm okay. >> That is my biggest concern. >> I'm okay. >> Okay. All right. Go back over there and hang out over there. >> I don't want to be left. I don't want to be left. >> I'm not leaving you here. Go back over there for a minute. so I can figure out what's happening. >> Seeing the officer's concern, she doubles down on playing the victim to dodge the blame. But those stories of hers, they just don't add up. It's clear as day that whatever she's on has warped her mind. At this point, she's not just trying to fool the cops, she's lying to herself. >> We can't hang out together. Like you, you and her, right? Because we're going to have an argument, correct? >> Okay. So, >> I'm going to >> This is not helping your situation. Okay, >> I'll book her a hotel. But I need this to be documented because I cannot let >> her control the narrative. I'm not going to allow that. I want to record I want it recorded 100%. I'm not walking away. No, this this needs to be documented. Who I am, who she is, what the happened. No, she's not going to make this narrative. No. No. I've already been in this situation once in my life. I'm not going to do it again. >> Cool down. All right. Listen, I just found this right here. You just pulled it out of your bag. >> No. No. >> I literally just saw you pull it out of your bag. >> I pulled it up. I found it. I was like, "Oh, this is fun." I was like, "Give us." >> Yeah. I literally just saw you pull >> Go ahead. What is this? I >> What is this? It's aing pipe. >> Yeah. What you just pulled out of your bag? >> The Delta A. Is that illegal? Delta A. >> It's a we pipe. >> It's Delta A. >> Okay. I bought all that here. Delta A. >> Thank you. It's delta A. >> It's a pipe. >> I see that it's a pipe, but I don't like people lying to me. >> I'm sorry. Okay, I'm sorry. It scared me that it's delta A6 bag. It's delta A. I >> But I don't like Number one, I do not like people lying to me. Number one. Okay. I literally saw you pull that out of your purse. >> I'm sorry. I pulled that out of my >> And then you tried to sayar >> it was just there. >> I'm scared. I'm sorry. I lied to you and I'm sorry that is delta 8. >> Okay. >> It is delta 8 that I bought at Haze at Purple Haze. >> That is fine. But >> I'm sorry. I'm making I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I won't lie. I won't lie anymore. >> When you're so focused on hiding the big sin, you tend to let the small stuff slip through the cracks. That poor helpless woman act is starting to crumble, revealing someone caught in the deep end of bad habits, surrounded by evidence she just can't talk her way out of. You are extremely intoxicated. Okay. And I am >> extremely intoxicated. >> I am in fear that if I was to leave you >> I I am not extremely Can I give you a um what do you call that? Do I >> am not extremely intoxicated. >> My fear is that if I leave you here, you will jump out of this car again and hurt yourself and I won't do it. >> I'm already worried that you have hurt yourself and don't realize it because you jumped out of a car that was going down the road. Okay. So, why don't we get checked out? >> I don't want to do that. >> Okay. >> Can you just let me go with him? >> No, because I'm not going to have my way out of this fight. >> What are my options here? >> I'm not going to have a whole fight again. >> What are my options? >> Your option. Your options are you either go get checked out or you get put in protective custody and go to jail because I'm not going to keep dealing with you fighting with him and if I leave you here, I'm going to keep getting called back. >> No, you won't. I promise you though. I I will I will keep getting called back. >> So, it is those two options. >> I can I I promise you I will go home. You will not get any more calls. >> It is those two option. Just go to the hospital, get checked out. No, >> you'll be fine. >> Please. So, listen. You're either going to go to the hospital on your own award or I'm going to take you into protective custody. You're going to go to the hospital. >> How do I get out? How long am I going to be in there for? >> Until they check you out and make sure you're good. >> You're going to wait for me. You promise. Come piggy s with me. I'll go with you. You piggy s you. >> You cannot leave me here. Don't leave me here. You cannot leave me here. Please kiss your fingers. >> You can't leave me. You piggy sore. You cannot leave me here. >> You can't leave me here. You cannot. >> You're good, man. You piggy swore. You piggy swore. Wait until the police get here. >> I'm getting put into a mental home in Panama City. You are not getting put into a Don't be telling people that because that is a lie. What did I say about lies? >> Where am I going? How long am I going to be here? >> You're going to the hospital to get checked out because you're extremely intoxicated. That is it. You are not going to a mental home. I'm being extremely patient with you. >> She actually thinks empty promises or a little cash can bargain with the law. Making those ridiculous demands to the officers was just one last desperate grab for control in a situation where she'd already lost it all. How many times have I warned you? >> Sit down or go to jail. >> I didn't do anything wrong. I made a wrong choice in a man. Can I get an ice water? Please. You can have my ID. You can have everything I have. >> You have water right here. >> It's hot. I want cold water. >> Why do you need water right now? >> I'm overheating. You're making my stress worse. >> You are perfectly fine. The ambulance is coming to check you out right now. Okay. If you don't, if you do not straighten up, you will go to jail. >> I am strength. I would be more straight if I had ice cold water. If I wasn't overheating from stress. >> You are fine. I've been in this heat all day since 4:00 this morning. If I'm okay, you're okay. >> I'm just myself. RELAX. STOP ACTING LIKE AING IDIOT. >> I didn't do anything. >> I didn't do anything. I didn't do anything. So, um, I called you before she ended up going to jail, but, uh, she is extremely intoxicated and I just need y'all to check her out. Make sure she's okay to go to jail pretty much. She jumped out of a car twice and then acted a fool and got slammed against my car probably three or four times. So, uh, >> yeah, obviously. >> What's her name? >> Ka. Uh, Kaylee. >> Kaye, can I please have a sip of the water right there? Please, please, please, please. >> Is this her water? >> Yeah, they're sitting there. Yeah. I just want to make sure you weren't drinking some other person's water. >> No, this is not my water, but I don't care. I don't know whose water this is. >> 31 real quick. >> I didn't do anything wrong. >> Let me go grab your water. Then comes the sudden switch to being cooperative, purely for show, of course. Watching her flip from aggressive to pleading in a heartbeat. Well, that's just the textbook behavior of a soul who's been tangled up with substances for far too long. >> And yeah, it would have been a really bad day. >> I can't EVENING GRAB THAT. I CAN'T EVEN GRAB THAT. What are we doing? Can you all hurry up? Like, you're over here laughing. You're laughing. You're having chats laughing. I I'm out. >> Can you double check? Make sure you got everything. Did you get all my stuff? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Are you sure? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Sharp. >> It's sharp. >> I like it. >> Yeah, it's our traffic car. >> This morning, though, it's sharp. >> At night, though, it's like said I'm hot. You said I'm the hottest time. >> Is that what he said? >> No. Why? You are nowhere in sight. Because you're dead. And life is made of bread if you eat it. How do I look? >> How do you look? >> You look okay. >> I think you look great. >> You know what? I'll I'll put my hand back in. I think it's the wet swimsuit. I was like that the whole time. >> In the end, her little stunt landed her a one-way ticket to the county jail. She's facing charges for disorderly intoxication, resisting an officer, and endangering public safety. If the judge isn't feeling generous, she's looking at a $1,500 fine, and 60 days behind bars. Now, jumping out of a car might just be a moment of madness. But trying to play the police for fools, well, that's just digging your own grave. On March 22nd, 2024, Roswell officers pulled over a suspicious vehicle fresh from a gas station. Behind the wheel sat a woman letting her common sense drown in a bottle of booze. What follows is a sobering look at pure recklessness. >> It's the same ones. >> I'm so sorry. Okay. >> All right. I'm officer Gas Police Department. The reason for the stop is cuz somebody called in and said that you guys are possibly driving intoxicated. Do you have a license evactoration insurance? I just need to pee, bro. >> No, bro. I already >> There's no way, Lorissa. >> I don't have my ID cuz y'all have my car in town. So, >> my ID is in the car. >> Yeah. >> All right. Can you go and step off for me, please? >> Oh my god. >> Y'all just want to see my ass or something. What is it? >> Come back over here. Look over here. What's your name? >> My name is St. >> Can you stay right here like this? Hands down at your side. E together. Have you had anything to drink tonight? >> A little bit, but not a lot. >> How much is a little bit? >> Like one beer? >> Like one beer or exactly? >> Yeah, one beer. One beer. >> One beer. That's it. What kind of beer was it? >> A dose beer. >> How big was it? >> Whatever the size of beer is. Is it a big one? Tall boy beer like whatever the beer is. >> Okay. Are you able to see without those glasses? >> No, cuz I mean I could try. >> Okay. Can you Can you see my finger? The tip of my finger right here? >> No, I really can't. I'm that blind. I really >> You can't You can't see my finger at all. >> No, at all. >> I have to put these on. Okay. Try it again. >> I Well, I need to take them off for this test. Okay. Can I borrow those? >> No, cuz I can't see without them. >> I understand that. I'll take that into account. Hey, can I see those? >> Yeah, she can't see without them. >> So, one beard. >> That's all you have. >> She kept harping on being blind without her glasses. A classic move to cast doubt on the field sobriety test. It's a common defense tactic, trying to poke holes in the evidence before the investigation even gets off the ground. >> My finger right here. >> Barely, but yeah, >> barely. But do you agree this is the tip of my finger? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, you have any trouble turning anything like that? Walking, balancing, anything like that? >> Mhm. >> No. Okay. for this Destiny. Just stay put feet together, hands on each side. All right, >> I'm doing that. >> Okay, what you're going to do is you're going to follow the tip of my finger with your eyes and your eyes only. Does that make sense? >> Yeah. >> Do you have any questions? >> No. >> Okay. So, I know they're asking, but do you have any knee problems, ankle problems, anything like that? Notice you don't have any trouble balancing on one foot, walking, turning, anything like that? >> I don't think so. You don't think so or no? >> I've never like been diagnosed with it or >> But you don't have any trouble walking balancing. >> My knees do hurt. Like I'm wobbly on my knees cuz they think I got arthritis. >> All right. For this next test, we're going to move over here. Okay. Can you come stand right here for me, please? >> Face this way. >> Okay. For this next test, I need you to have your hands down at your side. You're going to put You're going to imagine a straight line. Can you imagine a straight line from your left foot that goes on forever about the width of your foot >> just like this foot? >> Yes. Heel to toe. Just like that. Okay. >> Right foot in front of your left foot. Heel to toe. Just like this. >> Heel to toe. >> Just like that. >> Got it. >> Your knees are closer. >> Just like mine. Heel to toe. >> You're like your foot's way in front of mine. >> It's heel to toe. It should be just like this. >> He to. >> Okay. Hands down at your side. >> You're going to stay in this position till I tell you otherwise. Okay. My balance is way off. >> Does that make sense? >> Okay. >> Wait. >> Right foot in front of your left foot. >> Just like how I am. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> At the tip of your right foot, I need you to imagine a straight line from the tip of your foot that goes on forever. >> Talk to him. >> No. Just listen to me. Okay. >> I understand. One, two, three. >> Are you ready to begin this test, Lissa? >> Okay. >> Wait. No, I'm not. >> No. >> Got to pee. Can I go pee behind the bush? >> Do you have any questions about this test, Lissa? Oh, >> no. But I got to go pee. >> Okay. Are you ready to begin this test? >> So bad. Okay. Yes. Ready to begin. >> Okay. Go ahead and begin this test. >> Go pee. Okay. >> Using nature's call as an excuse to stall. Lisa started acting like a child dodging a pop quiz. Her attitude flipped from half-hearted cooperation to flatout impatience, purposely losing count and ignoring instructions just to throw a wrench in the legal gears. >> I got to be I literally about to be right here. I'm literally about to pee. Y'all got to let me go pee. Let me go pee behind the bush, please. >> I need you to finish this test, Lissa. Okay, I'm sorry, but I got I really got to give you felt like whenever y'all are so bad like y'all just can't hold it no more, you know? Oh my god, I really got to 8. I did tonight. I got >> Are you going to finish this test? >> I did it. I did it tonight. >> Okay. Can you come over here for me, please? So, for this next test, >> Mhm. >> Okay. You're going to stand, hands at your side. You're going to use the foot of your choosing, your right foot or your left foot. Okay. >> So, for this test, one more. >> Pay attention to me. >> Okay. Sorry. >> So, I know you understand this test. This isn't a game. >> Got to pee. >> I get that. All right. >> Hands down at your side. >> PE so bad. >> Hands down at your side. Okay. For this next test, it's the one leg stand. >> 30 seconds. So, >> yep. >> Hands down to side. >> 30 seconds. I seen him the other night. >> Can you put your hands down to side, please? >> You're so cute. >> Do you have any questions about this test? >> No, I'm just not questioning it. >> You don't have any questions? >> I get that. Do you have any questions about this test? Okay, >> you may begin. >> What are you going to do? Pull my leg up for one second. >> Do you want me to reexplain this test? >> No. Got it. You got it. Got it. Ready? About to pee my pants. Y'all piss me off cuz I'm about to pee my >> Can you not let me go pee over there in between the bushes? >> Are you going to do this test, Lissa? >> Yes. >> Ready? >> She tried to weaponize her personal needs to manipulate the situation. But when her arrogant ego had to face the cold, hard reality of gravity, her pathetic attempt at the oneleg stand stripped away any doubt. She was drunk as a skunk. >> Let's go. >> Let's get ready. >> Okay. All right. Can you turn on put your hand to mine and back, please? >> Why? >> Because you're under arrest. >> Why? >> Cuz the suspicion of driving under the influence. >> I'm not even driving under the influence. >> I just got to pee. Sorry that I got to pee so bad. >> Oh my god, dude. I know my ride and this is not even a >> do you have somebody that can come pick up you guys and the car cuz you guys aren't here to drive. >> No, I can I can't I can call somebody. >> Put me in the car. >> Stop. >> Hurry up. Put me in the truck. I'm going to call. >> Hold on. I didn't tell you to move. >> Okay, we're going to walk this way. Let me go to call me. >> Let me go. I'm not even doing anything wrong. I got to pee. >> Do you have anything on you that's going to stick me, poke me, hurt me? >> No, I can't do the test because I got to pee. It's crazy. >> I know my [ __ ] rights. >> I'm glad to hear that. >> I can't do the test because I got to pee. You can't even let me pee real quick and then I'll finish the test. >> Oh my god. >> Stop moving. Please >> don'ting touch me. Why you touching me? I'm searching you. Search and send to arrest. >> I'm searching. There's nothing to search. There's nothing in my pocket. Obviously, >> you don't have anything to draw or anything like that cuz I can have a female come. >> I thought you just touched me. >> Okay. Get in the car. >> God, you're pissing me off. I got to pee. I can't finish the test cuz I got to pee. It's fake. >> Hey, Dollar. You have the implied consent card? >> Uh, I'll check here in a minute. Give me just a second. If not, I'll just take her for anyone. >> Inside the cramped back of that patrol car, Lisa's true colors really started to show. Down at the station, she was a walking contradiction, demanding respect one second and hurling insults the next. It was the sound of a personality cracking right down the middle. >> Walk this way. >> It's not necessary to touch me. I know my I'm right. Don't touch me. I'm going with you, okay? So, stop touching me. >> Oh my god. >> Walk this way. Walk. >> You're not going to touch me now. Are you >> walking? >> Well, I got to keep right here. Come this way. >> Right here. >> Don't touch me. >> You're going the wrong way. >> Well, tell me where to go. Don't touch. >> I'm trying to take these tops off so you can go to the restroom. >> Tell me where to go. Don't touch me. Please and thank you. >> They're going to go into this restroom. Okay. Can I open the door? >> No. >> That was crazy. >> Love it. Mom and say that. Walk that way, please. Take a right. >> This way. >> Yep. That way. >> All right. >> Go sit down on that bench over there. Okay. Go and begin. >> Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Okay. 27. >> When the breathalyzer clocked her at 0.27, over three times the legal limit, she suddenly changed her tune, [music] offering up classified info in exchange for her freedom. But that ship had already sailed. She was hauled off to jail for DUI and resisting an officer. If convicted, she's looking at a $2,000 fine and a mandatory ignition interlock device in her future. After that drunken disaster, stick around to see how a rookie driver turns a learner's permit into a first class ticket to a massive fine. On June 24th, Daytona Beach shores officers found themselves chasing down a driver with a total disregard for human life. A mileong high-speed chase ended in a tense standoff where freedom was gambled away for a few minutes of adrenaline. And here's how the truth unfolded. All right. Now, it looks like we're going to be stopping Belme and South Atlantic Avenue. >> Shut the vehicle off. >> Show me your hands. >> Jackson, do you have eyes? >> Give commands. >> Keep your hands where we can see them. Please step out of the vehicle. >> 125. Proper transport. >> Walk backwards towards my voice. >> Get on your knees. Get on your knees. Catch your beats. >> Put your hands behind. >> I got the car >> for Bravo 10 central. Del female 1015. It's all right. Let me clear the car. >> Yeah, go ahead. >> Back seat clear. >> All right, we'll code for it. Oh, yep. >> What's your name? >> Trunk coming up and open. Trunk and open. >> I'm going to read you something [clears throat] real quick. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say may be used as evidence against you. >> You have the right to have dinner with you now any time during questioning. If you're not court attorney, you won't be appointed to represent you. You've got to laugh at the irony. Out of all the places to pull over, she chose the city hall parking lot. Running from the law and then parking right in the lion's den. And to top it off, she's got the nerve to sweet talk her way out of it like she hasn't done a lick of work wrong. >> Yes or no? >> I mean, I was trying to see what I got. Pulled over. >> That's what I want to talk about, but I got to see if you're willing to talk to me about it or not. >> Yeah, you can talk to me. >> Okay. Why wouldn't you pull over? >> Oh, because I mean we was in traffic and I was scared and I just came back from my interview, my job interview. >> I've been I was following you for blocks with lights and sirens. You put on the brakes and then keep going. We went for blocks. You knew I was behind you. You kept acknowledging me. >> I knew you were behind me, but I didn't want to just stop in traffic, so I just came so I could pull over. So, you were going 50 miles an hour with me behind you with your light lights and stuff. You weren't even slowing down. Why were you going 80 to begin with, which is why I stopped you? >> Where's your ID at? >> Hang out with her. I'll get >> ma'am. Is this your vehicle? No, it's my girlfriend. >> Does she know you have >> my girlfriend? Yes. >> She knows she have >> I was leaving my job and I was trying to get back home because I got a a phone call that my uncle had died. That's all. But I tried to pull over because well I didn't stop in traffic. That's why I didn't pull over. So, I pull up here. >> You know, I first tried to stop you like well over a mile down the road. >> Yeah. I didn't see nobody behind me. >> I didn't see no lights on. >> Ma'am, is this your firearm? >> Is this your firearm? >> No, that's my girlfriend's gun. >> It's your girlfriend's gun? >> Yeah. She kept harping on how the gun in the car belonged to her girlfriend, trying every trick in the book to distance herself from the evidence. But that fake confidence started to crumble as the charges piled up, leaving her face to face with a legal reality she just couldn't deny. >> Did you find her ID? >> No, that's not it's in my uh >> Oh, that's why she's not stopping. How long have you been suspended? >> No, my my driver's license is in my purse. >> That's where I got that from. Now, >> is this is this you? Yes, but that's not the one that >> I have another. >> Oh, you have a learner's permit. >> So, who's your um licensed driver to ride with you? Were they with you earlier at all? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> I had to come to work. >> Where was that? >> Um on Walker Street in Holly Hill. >> In Holly Hill. So, you drove all the way from Holly Hill here? Well, I live in Vancouver, but I dropped her off this morning. I went home and waited till my call this woman to book my >> But you didn't have a licensed driver with you to come to your interview. >> No, not all right, sir. Here you go. This is our other one. She has a learner's permit. >> Okay. >> But I don't know that's that's coming off valid license. >> Yeah, that's fine. We have 12 records driving. Okay. >> Okay. Okay. Oh, do you want me to grab the firearm, sir, or leave it? >> Um, run it. Okay. >> Right. I think the serial number here it is. >> Oh, yeah. That's her. That's her gun. That's not She probably forgot it was it. >> All right. Well, what's in your possession? >> I'll get some. >> Nothing in the chamber. >> Well, do uh do a thorough inventory the rest of the car and we'll go from there. >> She knew that admitting where she parked meant admitting she fled, so she just dug her heels in and argued until she was blue in the face. It's almost funny really. She'd rather fight the plane as day truth than find the backbone to own up to her own mess. >> All right. So, you're getting charged with reckless driving, fleeing and looting a police officer with lights and sirens activated, and carrying a concealed firearm. All right. Whether you agree with it or not, that's what's happening. Female officers coming to search you and then you'll be going to our station. Okay. >> Okay. I'm walking our home. You can make calls when you get out to the Valuchia County branch jail >> cuz we was in traffic and there was nowhere to like stop stop and pull over. So I just came up here and pulled over. I didn't want to be in the middle of a road. >> I can understand your thinking behind that. But as my sergeant explained cuz I heard him when he called it out. That's a 2600 block. Now, I can pick out four huge parking lots between there and here that you could have stopped at or you could have pulled over on. One is being the park. There's a park right over to the left. You could have pulled into the park. Uh there's a huge parking lot over on the right hand side right there by the big building. Um >> I'm not even there. >> Oh, I get that. But I'm saying if you were looking for someplace to pull over, there are lots of opportunities. And that's what my sergeant was explaining to you earlier. There's lots of opportunities. If nothing else, pull over to the side of the road, put your hazards on, and then wait for further direction. If he says, "You know what? I need you to pull off of the roadway." Pull out the roadway on the side street. Or if he says, "Hey, can you pull in that parking lot over to the left?" Pull into the parking lot over to the left. But >> understood. >> In the end, her little joy ride landed her a one-way trip to the county jail. She's facing charges for fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, and carrying a concealed weapon. The court handed down 36 months of probation, yanked her license for a year, and tacked on $816 in court costs.
