Answer it. Who's calling? Answer it. >> What? Who's calling? >> Answer the phone. >> Answer the phone. >> She's not going to answer the phone. Okay, stop. >> Answer the phone. >> From homes cracked by anger to streets echoing with sirens. >> What you think? >> Put your hand behind your >> Okay, now you're rest. >> Oh my god, you guys are going to be so much trouble. >> Bro, got to talk. >> I DON'T CARE. MY MOUTH is wet. What the You going to dry it out for me? You going to air dry it? Are you? >> No. >> These women didn't need enemies. They became their own worst ones. You >> got to be kidding me. >> No. >> What did you do to do that? >> I What did you do? >> I held up a BB gun. >> And the body cam caught it all. Every moment they unraveled. On January 5th, 2025, police were called to Walmart after reports of a lost 2-year-old wandering the parking lot. Just as officers confirmed the child was safe, a woman suddenly showed up and things spiraled out of control fast. >> Ma'am. Ma'am. Miss You okay, ma'am? >> Everything's fine. >> Okay. >> What you still calling me for? >> Well, because we got a call of a juvenile that's, you know, walking around the lot. >> We're paying for food. So, we have a lot going on. You can see that, right? >> Okay. >> Thank you. We're good. >> Ma'am, can I get your information, please? We just got to document this. got to uh get out. >> See, walk away. We're paying for food. You need to mind your business. You don't need to make a scene. You don't need to do nothing. Listen. Listen. >> I got my You need to walk away now. >> Listen. There's no fact about it. The fact is you need to walk away. There's nothing else about it. >> There's nothing else about it. >> Somebody called because the kid was standing up there, right? Okay. Then we didn't call him. So, we didn't need you. I didn't ask for you. So, you can go ahead now. I'm not going to come out cuz I don't have a right to. I me too. >> Damn. >> Go ahead. >> I found her before by >> So I called because I didn't. >> Okay. So you called him. So talk to him. He called. You guys don't call. I'm not hearing. So then what you need to mind your business get >> All right. Go ahead. You brought him inside. So go to head. Don't get smacked. Get the out my face, bro. >> Ma'am, I didn't act. I said I said my kid. So therefore, I don't care. Pretend talking. >> I get that kid. We're finished. We're finished. >> In charge of the kids. >> We're finished. No, I'm not. We're finished. No, I'm not. We're finished in charge of the kids. >> We're done. >> We're done. I don't know. It doesn't matter. We're done. >> Why? >> Her defensiveness wasn't just a reaction. It was survival mode. In her mind, admitting fault meant losing control. [music] That kind of mindset says a lot. When someone's too busy denying their mistakes, they stop hearing everything else. >> So, she had to she was supposed to be in charge of that kid. I'm not in charge of any kid cuz none of these kids are mine. Therefore, the kid walked away, right? Because I'm paying for stuff. We have three children. Don't you see that? There's two of us. You see that, right? We got stuff going on. No, he's being a whoever the cop. So, now I'm going be a way. >> I'm not trying to be >> Yes, you are. Okay. >> Just talk to me then. >> Listen, man. I appreciate your help. You did absolutely the the right thing. I wasn't going to let the kid stand up. >> Absolutely. >> Yeah. Because, god forbid a kid get hit by a car. Do you have your license on you? I'm going to take your information. Like I said, I'm trying to get her information, document this, but you see how she is. >> So, is the parent who that kid here? >> No. Why? What happened? >> Well, somebody called saying >> he walked away. That's him. He walked away. Kids >> We didn't see him. So therefore, we didn't see him. We didn't know he walked away. We went to go find him. >> That's fine. >> Nobody told us that the kid was out there. We went to go find him. We found him. >> I'm not saying you're in trouble. >> All right. So then tell him to gohead. Tell him I'm not cooperating. Go ahead. You're not getting my name. I'm not getting away. >> I understand. But you're to confirm who we're turning the kid over to. That's >> me and him. Me and her. That's it. Me and her. That's it. >> But I don't know who you guys are in relation to the child. That's all. >> They're with us, right? They're with us. He came to me, right? >> I don't know that though. We don't know you. >> Yeah. But you see, I'm a police officer, right? >> Okay. That don't mean that don't mean what the mean. That mean >> if it's not your kids, you're still responsible for him. You brought him out the house, right? >> Right. Exactly. And I'm trying to explain that to her. >> 20° outside >> calmly. And you see how she is uh reacting. So So you just found the kid just uh wandering down the >> I was walking in the store. I just parked and I see a kid in the street. I looked around. There's no parano >> when officers turned their attention to witnesses. The truth started to unfold. Meanwhile, the woman kept pushing back, blaming everyone but herself. The irony? The more she tried to stay in control, the more obvious it became that she never had any to begin with. >> Okay. Okay. And I see the kid, I want to go get them. >> If this lady walked up and said, "That's my kid." We can't just trust that. We have to verify. >> How you going to find that out? How you going to find out who's my kid? >> Well, I'm asking you cuz I'm asking you pictures of the child on your phone to print. We got pictures of the kid. Why would we have pictures of kids? Why wouldn't we? Let me tell you. >> Well, if it's your child, you probably have pictures on your phone, right? >> Why would that matter? >> Because Does that matter? Look, look, look, look. >> It's just so we can confirm. >> Here you go. See, look. That's the >> Okay. What's the child's name? >> Okay. I just have to write it down. That's all. >> Write down. Get out of here. >> Okay. Well, >> ma'am, I'm trying to work with you, but I can't let you leave with the child unless I confirm who he belongs to. That's all. >> I'm not I'm I'm trying to make this very easy for you. I'm not trying to get you in trouble. I'm not trying to do >> All right. So, hurry up cuz now you're dragging it. Y my face. >> I'm not getting out of your fault. If I shake the head and get the >> And what's last name, >> ma'am? What's last name? >> Ma'am, what is last name? >> What's your name? What's your name? Tell me. What's your name? >> Stop scaring the child. I'm talking to you. >> Talk to me. >> This is not going to work out in your favor if you don't just cooperate. I'm >> not going to pick up either. If you put handcuffs on me, you're going to get >> Nobody said anything about PUTTING HANDCUFFS ON ANYBODY. WHAT ARE Y'ALL ABOUT TO TALK ABOUT? >> Stop yelling. You're causing a scene in Walmart. >> Stop talking to me, >> ma'am. What is your relationship to the child? >> Okay. The child is not leaving here with you guys unless we confirm who the child belongs to. >> No. What you going to do? Cuz we can call somebody else then. Who you what you going to do? Cuz what the mean? >> We're going to find who the child. >> She's the mother OF THE CHILD. OBVIOUSLY, WE'RE HERE. NO. I DON'T GIVE a >> I don't give a >> If that's not your child, then get the HELL OUT OF HERE. >> NO. I DROVE HIM HERE. You're going to get arrested. You're going to get arrested. >> What's truly unsettling is how cold she was toward the very child who' just gone missing. Then turned around and scolded the people who helped find him. Even with solid proof in front of her, she lashed out, accused the cops of harassment, and dared them to arrest her as if she believed she was above the law. >> Man, listen. Listen. We're calm. >> I don't care. I'm not calm now. I'M NOT CALM. >> You need to BE CALM. >> NO, I DON'T. GET THE OUT OF MY FACE. >> EITHER leave or you're GOING TO GET ARRESTED. ARREST ME. >> WE'RE NOT GOING TO SIT HERE AND DEAL WITH THIS. >> I SWEAR TO GOD, ARREST ME. ARREST ME. I SWEAR TO GOD. I SWEAR TO GOD. ARREST ME. WHAT YOU GOT? WHAT REASON? >> [ __ ] YOUR STUFF. >> WHAT? NO. >> Excuse me. Get the >> What do you think you're doing? You're >> Oh my god. You got it. Just uh grab yourself. >> You want to do this? You did this to yourself. Okay. >> Relax. >> I told you. >> Relax. >> Oh, I told you. >> You didn't have to do this for yourself. >> You have You DON'T HAVE A REASON TO DO THIS. All right. So, what? >> Relax. I'm going to You want You want me to take her? I'm trying to get the leg. >> Get off of >> Keep moving. >> Oh, okay. >> You want to damage a This is going to be criminal mystery. >> We have one under. What? To who? To who? Cuz I was throwing charges for no reason. Okay. Okay. Go ahead. Do your thing. Do your thing. I SWEAR TO GOD, my soul. >> What's your badge on, bro? >> What's your badge on? >> Why are you doing that to my heart? Why are you >> You're the mom. >> Yes, I have. >> How old? How How old are you? >> I'm 24. >> Okay. And that And that's your child? >> Yes, it is. But I have my daughter in the bathroom. I'm taking my daughter to the bathroom and she was >> Okay. Okay. >> Yeah. >> I'm going to speak to you. Okay. Like I said, you guys are not in any trouble. She caused all this. If she didn't get so excited and loud, she would not be handcuffed right now. >> Okay. You have your license with you. >> Keep going IN YOUR MOUTH. >> YO, THE MAMA CAME OUT OF MY MOUTH. I GOT A BREAK. I CAN TALK. Talk to me now. I SWEAR TO GOD, MY SOUL. >> IT'S JUST BEHAVIOR. NO, I DON'T CARE. GOD HAD NO REASON. NO REASON. >> So you guys were here paying and he just he just walked off? >> No. when I came when he when she said she had to use the bathroom and she he and she was watching him. Okay. >> Okay. >> They were all here. He won't do it. He won't. >> Okay. Yeah. There. Listen, there's a lot of kids. I get it. Happens all all the time. So, here's the license bag. What's >> She even had the nerve to tell the officers, "Don't start anything while being the one causing all the chaos." The saddest part is she couldn't see her own wrongdoing. And those innocent kids were stuck growing up in that storm. And when a mother stands there and refuses to admit she's a mother, something inside has truly broken. >> Still, >> okay, I'm searching with the back of my hand. Okay, >> you I got kisses cold spitting on me, >> bro. Got to talk. YOU DON'T >> I DON'T CARE. MY MOUTH IS WET. WHAT THE [ __ ] YOU GOING TO DRY IT OUT for me? YOU GOING TO AIR DRY IT? ARE YOU JUST STOP? [screaming] >> NO. I'm asking for you. >> It's cool though. I swear to God, my phone y'all's done. >> Face that way, please. >> Shut up. Don't put your hand on my neck. >> Okay, shut up. >> GET OFF MY NECK ON ME. I SAID >> GET OFF MY NECK. >> NOBODY'S TOUCHING YOUR NECK. >> YOU'RE TOUCHING MY NECK. I CAN'T BREATHE. >> ALL RIGHT. YOU'RE LOOKING for egg me. >> I'm not even TOUCHING YOUR NECK. >> I'M NOT EVEN SPITTING ON YOU. I'M TALKING. I CAN'T BREATHE. >> Give me this people. >> It's It's a cuz YOU'RE SPITTING ON ME. >> I CAN'T BREATHE >> ON PURPOSE. >> NO, I'M NOT. I'M TALKING. I CAN'T TALK. I can't talk. I can't talk. I can't talk. disorderly conduct and >> Okay, don't talk to me. Hurry up. >> I don't care. I'm not the MOTHER OF THE CHILD. I'M NOT THE MOTHER OF THE CHILD. IT DOESN'T MATTER. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TALK TO ME. >> NONE. >> So disorderly and she's been spitting on me the entire time. So I'm charging. I just sold her. >> I was talking. I was having a conversation. First of all, I was never spitting. But I have a reason. I don't have a reason to spit on you. I don't have a reason to do that. And so I have to go DROP HIM OFF. I >> He's getting the rest of the info from the mother. This woman is not the mother OF THE CHILD. >> HOW LONG IS IT GOING TO TAKE? I HAVE TO DROP THEM BACK OFF. I BOUGHT THEM HERE. THEY'RE IN MY CAR. MY KEYS AND EVERYTHING IS IN THAT PLACE. >> OKAY, just stop talking right now. >> Sir, I bought them here. I have to take them back home. They came here in my car. My phone and my >> Who are you talking about? >> My friend and my family. What do you mean that's my family? >> Okay. What is your question about your family? I can't >> Wait. Am I coming back so I could take them back home? My car is in this parking lot. >> She's going to have to make other arrangements. >> So, how am I going to get back to my car? What's that? >> How am I going to get back to my car? >> How are you going to get back to my car? >> Yes. >> Figure that out when you get released. >> When do I get released? Why are you even arresting me? You have a reason. >> I told you because of disorderly conduct. >> BUT I DIDN'T DO NOTHING to you. >> As assault on a police officer. >> In the end, she was taken to jail and charged with assaulting an officer for spitting and disorderly conduct for yelling, swearing, and resisting. If convicted, she could face up to a $5,000 fine and 6 months to a year behind bars. But those toxic words, they were just the beginning of a much darker truth waiting to surface. On April 1st, 2025, police responded to a 911 call reporting a violent argument between a drunk mother and her husband. Officers arrived to check on everyone inside, especially the three children. And here's what happened when they got there. >> What happened? >> We can't even talk. Hey, you guys are here. >> Is your wife or spouse here or girlfriend? >> Oh, man. She ain't been this Saturday. [ __ ] me. I told you. >> Hello. >> How are you? So, we got to make sure you're okay. We got to make sure that whoever else is in here is already okay. And that's just sitting down. I seen the cops outside. I'm like, >> talk to her real quick. >> Yeah. >> Can you go talk to them down to be here for like another day >> from the domestic issue? >> So, why why are we here earlier? Cuz I wasn't working there. cuz I was me and this kid were arguing and me I drink bro so some get stupid whatever the >> okay >> and lay down um my mother was here earlier too she [ __ ] upset about some other [ __ ] my mom doesn't like my ex >> um all three same >> something's going on we got to check on you I get it's annoying that >> I get it's annoying right unfortunately you guys live in an apartment you got thin walls if you get into some little argument someone's going to call dude >> here is she here >> no she knows she not be here I don't even want her here bro >> do you mind if we check >> you can How you want, bro? >> I know you get >> stairs maybe. Make sure >> stairs. >> There's a second door into the apartment through the kitchen. >> I mean, I do too, man. do something else. >> Well, you're an adult, right? You can drink, but we just got to make sure that we're >> Even with clear signs of a fight, the man still tried to protect her, brushing off the injuries with, "She's drunk. She fell." It was a desperate attempt to control the story. He let officers search the apartment. Convinced she was gone, but the truth was hiding right there in the room. Okay. Come on. Come here. Put your hands behind your back. Pick their uh >> It's 72 hours to pick up my stuff. Pick >> there or two. I'm in the So, why am I downstairs with it? Put your hands behind your back for a minute. Okay. Because you're hiding in the closet when the police are here. I don't know why you're hiding in the closet. So, right now you're detained. >> Hiding in the damn closet >> cuz it's my time to get my But you guys don't ever understand. That's the thing. >> Was I here earlier? >> I don't know. >> Right out of your Okay. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can't listen. What is your first name? I don't know your first name. What is your first name? >> Look at me. You're not under arrest. You're detained right now. Again, I don't know why you're hiding in the closet. That's why you're in cuffs. Okay. But I'm going to read your mander rights anyways. Okay. >> You have the right to remain silent anything you say can be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer. Have him a present with you while you're being go outside. >> Nothing happened. You were just asking to stay separated. >> Shut the [ __ ] off, man. I didn't just say it. Literally, >> do you guys have a 70 a couple days ago? >> Correct. >> No, more than a couple days ago. Way more than a couple days ago. >> I was told you have a 72 Thursday night. >> Listen, listen, listen, listen, listen. This can all be figured out, but you got to be cool with me cuz I don't know anything about you, right? So, I got to get things sorted out. Okay. We got called here for domestic. Okay. That's why we're here. You're obviously hiding in the closet for a reason cuz I'm guessing you're not supposed to be here. >> No, that's not true. Listen, can I explain something? >> Let's go to the car. We'll explain it. Explain it to me. Okay. So, understand this. Okay. >> How embarrassing this is. >> Listen, we're gonna go to the other side. Other side of the car. Other side of the car. >> Damn. For real. Like you don't care. Seriously. >> This is like a game or funny. I don't know. For real. Like >> all right. Right now I got one female custody. >> There's a correct somebody. >> Finding the mother tucked inside a closet didn't just expose his lie. It opened a whole new direction for the investigation. Officers began checking if she'd violated a restraining order, which could mean new charges. She couldn't hide anymore, so she turned to blame. To her, the truth was scarier than the handcuffs. >> What's your boyfriend? >> I can't get up there. >> My toes hurt. >> What? What? What? When did you and your boyfriend have it? A couple days ago, correct? >> Um, like Thursday evening. >> Okay. Did you get I don't know what happened. Did you get arrested? What was the deal? >> Um, yeah. They told us 72 hours. They said I could visit one time within the 72 hours to get my children. >> Okay. >> So therefore, I was there >> and all of a sudden police getting called. So my first instinct, sorry you guys, but >> last time I I felt like I wasn't even doing much either and I got arrested. So >> well, if you have a 72-hour stayaway and you can't be here, that's a problem, right? Argument. Don't hide in the closet from us, right? I mean, it doesn't work. It doesn't look well. [snorts] All right, sit tight for a minute. Can you hang out with her for a second? I'm going to go talk to corrupt here. Make sure he's good. >> Yeah. >> I'm pulling on this door and the door's like kind of giving. I'm like, come on. Really? >> So, she's sending me a picture of it right now. Um, so it says 72 hours. You got arrested on the 29th at 1:25 in the morning. >> Wow. You guys are getting that technical, too. We >> We have to. There's paperwork that says you can't be here for a certain amount of time. >> So, why are you hiding in the closet? >> Because he told me to run. He's like, "Go." And I'm like, "Why?" He literally pushed me out. >> But you think hiding in the closet's the best? >> When I say he literally pushed me out of the apartment, pushed me out. >> Why are you guys arguing? >> We weren't. That's the thing. >> But why is somebody calling me saying you guys are arguing? >> All of a sudden, he looks out the window. He says, "Oh, the police are coming." And I say, "What?" And he's like, "I don't know. Maybe it's cuz they heard me or you." And I'm like, "Heard you guys doing what, though? You You see what I'm getting at? You You just told me that he told you to get out of the apartment because one of the neighbors may have heard something." >> Once police confirmed the 72-hour restraining order had expired. They allowed her to leave for the moment, but her claim of being shoved out and forced to hide was a red flag that this domestic violence wasn't over. Less than two hours later, another 911 call came in. This time, the man had fled. >> Uh, where's JJ? >> Uh, he went to go have a motorcycle. >> Who else is here? Three. >> Uh, Schultz is downstairs. >> Schultz. >> I just want to make sure we got him. And where did he did he take off on foot? >> He did. >> Yeah, he went south and west on >> or west on who's primary. me. >> Are you guys looking for him right now? Can I ask? I'm not trying to be like >> here for that. Um I just got a a brief from she was nowhere to be found. >> He says stop search. She's not here. She was here. >> Round two. I was here. >> He's the same thing. >> He finds her. >> He finds her hiding down there. >> We did the arrest. However, we find out we have a little past 72 hours. She was released. >> Okay. So I reinterviewed the daughter just now. She says, "I told the police, now I don't have three poor here or anything to reference. No matter what she's saying, the first time you guys came out here, which is round one, they were physically fighting." >> Okay. >> However, they had no weapons, she was here. >> So they were and she's like, "Someone snacking. He snapped her. She kept them in the >> So um now based on that, now she hears what sounds like physical. They both have injuries." >> Yeah. I think we need to arrest them both. >> Okay. >> We will figure out the kids situation. Maybe right now we tell her you got to make some calls to come somebody. >> Okay. >> Somebody get the kids. >> Get the kids. >> Where has been physical? There's physical injuries on both of you guys. >> Okay. >> No, I haven't even done anything. >> The issue is that if you don't have someone to come take care of the kids, we have to have >> other agencies come and get the kids. >> But my father then >> can you call him and see if he can come take care of the kids? >> He can come. Yeah, but it's going to be maybe like an hour or so. I don't know what time it is even right now, for example. So, he could come. Yeah. Can you call him and ask him how long it'll be for him to get here? >> Probably an hour or so. >> It became painfully clear that both parents were putting pride over their kids. Neither saw how their toxic relationship was destroying not only each other, but everyone around them. Their selfishness made every promise of change crumble just as quickly as it was spoken. >> I know. >> We're not going to Villa Park. The Villa Park. >> And then where? From there, we'll talk to the state's attorney and then go from there. Okay. >> So, I'm going to go back to DUP page for what? For no reason, basically. >> It's not no reason. >> Yeah, it is. >> They already took him. >> They're going right now. >> He got violated for doing something to me just now. Right. If I'm understanding correct. >> Both of you guys. >> Answer it. >> He's calling. >> Answer it. >> What? >> Who's calling? >> Answer the phone. >> Answer the phone. >> She's not going to answer the phone. Okay, stop. >> Answer the phone. >> Why won't Why would she answer the phone? >> For the person you have problems with, right? >> FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, I'M BEGGING YOU. >> ANSWER THE PHONE. >> She's not going to answer. Okay. >> How? >> Why would she answer for him? [snorts] >> So we can know what's going on. >> Cuz he's the issue right now. You and him are the issue. So, she's not going to answer. Okay. So, you need to stop. This is your doing, not hers. I literally feel so bad for her. >> Hold on. Hold on. >> Can you turn around? >> I just didn't want to go to >> Can't walk that fast. Sorry. My foot hurt. second sign. >> Wow, dude. >> Mark the private. Okay. >> Yeah. Okay. >> In the end, the woman was taken to jail and charged with domestic violence and violating pre-trial release. Her partner faced two counts of domestic violence. The children were placed in the care of their grandfather. Charging both parents was the only way to finally break the cycle of abuse and to keep those three kids safe. The children escaped one nightmare. But somewhere not far away, another mother was walking straight into hers. On September 5th, 2025 in Florida, police responded to a violent [music] crash between an SUV and a school bus. But what truly stunned them wasn't just the wreck. It was that the driver, a mother, had her 11-year-old daughter sitting right beside her. >> You guys see what happened? >> Okay. She talk to you over here. >> So, I was right behind her. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, we're coming. There's a bunch of >> car slow and they're all like trying to get around her and she's like keep kind of swerving lanes and then I was like, man, is there I literally at one point was like, is this a kid driving? Because this was like like ridiculous. And then all of a sudden like I'm coming up. I live in here so I'm trying to turn in here but I'm waiting. Which lane was she in? >> Between this one and this one cuz she was likeam. >> Yeah. And then the cars kept trying to go around her. And then by the time we got here, I was the last one behind her. And I was like, "Well, I have to turn." So, I'm just waiting for her to get out of the way. She comes into this lane like she's like, "Oh, like I don't need to go here." Like she needs to go straight. So, I was like, "Oh, cool. Maybe she's going to go that way and go that way, whatever." But she came up this way and then she just turned left like a sharp left and tried to like gun it. But he was already halfway through. She t-boned into half of him. He was He was already halfway through the intersection. >> You guys know that hurt, right? >> She's She's imperial. >> Yep. >> Okay. All right. Well, sit down. I'm going to have the paramedic check in you. Okay. >> All right. Do you know Do you remember what happened at all? >> Yes. >> So, what happened? >> Uh, I had an accident. >> Yeah. How did that happen? >> Huh? >> I crossed over. >> Okay. Why Why did you cross over? Are you going somewhere around here or? >> Yes. >> Which direction you >> My boyfriend's house. >> Okay. All right. Does he live in here? >> Yes. >> Okay. Um, are you injured? >> No. >> No, you're not hurt. You want to go to the hospital? >> Okay. Ma'am, >> can you step out for a second? >> Because we got to car. Okay. >> I'll help you. >> Go ahead. I'll hold that for you. Take a picture. Go ahead and I'll hold it for you. >> All right, let's walk back this way. Okay, stay sit right here. You can stay right here. Control. >> Okay. Nothing hurting you. >> No, no leg injuries. You didn't hit your head? I don't see any visible injuries. I'm just making sure you're fine. Okay. I'll be fine. >> She said she was fine, but her empty stare and sluggish reactions told a different story. It took officers only seconds to see the truth. Despite the obvious signs, she kept denying everything. And every new statement contradicted the last, as if she were running from herself. >> Did you take anything? >> No. >> What? Cuz I can tell, ma'am. We can tell that. >> No. No, I haven't. >> When was the last time you had a drink? >> I haven't taken anything. >> Okay. What? I'm talking about alcohol. >> No, I haven't taken anything. >> It still didn't answer that question. No, I am answering your question. I haven't taken anything. >> Are you injured anywhere? Do you need Are you able to answer that? >> Are you injured? >> No, I'm not injured anywhere. And I am so sorry. I am trying. >> I just want to know, Megan, if you were taking anything, you were drinking anything. When was the last time you had a drink? Uh like 4 days ago. >> 4 days ago. >> Yes. Where were you coming? >> I have not I was picking up my kid and I have not I'm taking anything >> and I am so sorry. >> Prescription medications. >> Yes. For high blood pressure >> and that's it. >> Yes. >> You don't take anything? >> I am so sorry. She also resisted law enforcement and refused testing. Her daughter was evaluated on scene by paramedics and later taken to the hospital for a full checkup. Police contacted the girl's father who authorized her aunt to pick her up at the hospital. One mother lost control behind the wheel and not far away, another Karen was about to lose control behind her own fence. On February 12th, 2025, police were called to a strange scene. Reports said a woman had fired a BB gun at two teenagers riding their bikes. But as officers approached, the real story started to come into focus. >> All right, ma'am. How are you? >> I'm fantastic, thanks. >> You're the owner of this house? >> I am. >> All right. You mind if I talk to you for a second? >> Definitely. >> All right. So, before I talk to you and before that, I got to respond to you real quick. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. So, listen. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to talk to your lawyer and have your lawyer present with you while you're being questioned. If you decide to answer questions now with our lawyer present, you still have the right to stop answer anytime speak with a lawyer. You understand? So are you're arresting me? No, >> I'm just ask I'm reading these rights to you before we talk any further. You see what I'm saying? Cuz I don't want to violate your rights and all that kind of stuff. Okay. >> You understand what I'm saying? >> Okay. >> All right. So, what what happened early between you and was riding a bicycle about >> I'm kind of wondering the same thing because they drove by pretty recklessly and fast. >> Mhm. And then they circled right back around and my kids are out here [snorts] playing and [clears throat] they flicked me off for no reason. >> Okay. >> So then they get down past to the to the end of the road and continuing to flick me off. >> And then we hear and my little one's learning how to or my oldest is learning how to shoot a BB gun. >> Okay. >> And I scared them. Like what are you doing? >> What do you mean you scared them? >> Like I just held it. Oh, okay. So, you grab you grab the BB gun and hold it at them. >> That's it. >> Okay. So, by holding at them, you mean like pointing at them, right? >> Not at them. >> Okay. But towards in their direction, right? >> I'm trying to understand. So, how do you what do you mean like hold it at him? >> Well, I just held it. >> Okay. >> Not as they drove like not at the same time as they drove by. >> Okay. And did you say something to him? >> No. >> Okay. Where's the baby gone at >> inside? >> Is anybody else in the house? uh my boyfriend's oldest daughter. >> Okay. Uh just stay here for a second. Can come over. Let's retrieve the baby gun for a second. >> She didn't deny it. She just tried to make it sound reasonable. One rude comment was all it took for her to pull out a BB gun to teach them a lesson. That kind of anger doesn't come from the moment. It comes from within. And once officers spoke with the victims, they learned more about her than she'd ever admit herself. >> Download 6 app. And then we came around in a circle again. She ran inside, got her gun, and then when we came back down this >> she aimed it at us. >> She aimed at us and shot it twice. >> Who is she? >> We don't know. >> We don't know her. But >> what house is it? >> The It's like a blue screen the video. >> Okay, show me. >> Was that when she shot at you? >> Yes. >> Yes. >> What was going on with her? Did she >> She was outside with her two kids. >> Yeah. >> Seems like she holding something, but I can't tell what it was. >> It's like one of those gun like long and skinny >> like a rifle. >> Something like that. It was like maybe a shotgun or a BB gun. I'm not sure. >> Okay. All right. How how big was the the the bank? How loud was it? >> Like uh throwing a rock at like a garage or something. I don't know. >> Okay. So, it wasn't a real gun. If it was a real gun, you would catch it right here. All right. Regardless, um did you feel threatening? Did you feel for your life? >> Yeah. Uh a little bit cuz we didn't know what was happening. >> Okay. So, >> so what is going on with this lady? Like what happened? Why did she do this? She's always had a problem with this for no reason. >> Hello. >> Uh, tell mom what happened. >> Pointed a gun at us and shot it twice. >> Yeah, >> she shot it. >> She shot her kids outside >> twice at us, but she missed both times. >> It almost hit my foot. It was like skin >> just riding her bike. 20 business. >> No, >> take them home and I'll we'll go meet up with you in a few minutes. Okay. >> Okay. >> Do you want to pray charges? >> Uh, let my husband out. Can we come? >> Yeah, sure. Give me a second. Hold on. The kid's statements along with the video footage said it all. She pulled the trigger just to scare them, but who wouldn't be terrified? She didn't care about the consequences. The victim's family decided to pursue charges. They wanted her to understand that every action comes with a price at all or anything. >> No. >> No. Okay. Just making sure. >> I'm not that stupid. >> I got [clears throat] I wasn't I wasn't assuming. But so they rode by and then you you pointed at them to scare them or Okay. >> I didn't know if they were driving by >> No, like originally they came by super fast and then they came back by again and like I was after like after them like >> they passed and it was after that not right at them. >> No, I know. That's what that's what I was asking. They were >> out this way and then they came back this way. >> Okay. No. >> And then at what point down the road did you point at them >> like they were probably in front of that mailbox and I was pointing it this way. >> Okay. All right. I thought I thought you meant they were going out and then you pointed it at I got you. >> Um >> is there any adult in the house right now? >> No. >> How old is the the girl here? >> 14. >> 14. Your boyfriend? What time you call him? M >> about 11. About 11. Okay. Just come over here to my car. >> Me? Yep. When we get to the car, I'm going to need you to make a phone call so I can come over here or unless you're okay with her. Um, come on. Let's keep walking. I don't want to do this in front of your kids. But, um, are you okay with her keep an eye on the kids until your boyfriend come with them? >> Yes, but may I ask what's going on? >> You're going to go to jail >> for what? >> Pointing this at two kids. >> I didn't point it at them. >> Well, they they think they did that you did. And there's a video you doing it and they think that you shot at them as well because they feel something on their legs. >> Nothing hit them. >> Regardless, that doesn't give you the right to do it. So, I didn't want to do this in front of your kids. Well, that's why I brought you over here. Okay. You got anything in your pockets? >> No. But am I going to have a bond? >> Um, not until you see the judge. Hands behind your back. >> Even when the video evidence left no room for denial, she clung to the idea that she wasn't a bad person. That defense cracked fast, replaced by fear. And when she finally admitted she'd been drinking, the picture became crystal clear. This wasn't anger anymore. It was complete loss of control. >> I have a lighter in my bra. >> Okay. When we get to the jail, they'll they'll take it away and throw it because that's not permitted in jail. >> All right. So, how do you want me to do this? >> Hello. Um, >> really going to arrest her? >> Yeah. >> Why? >> Cuz I assault. Okay. >> But come on. Like, you see our kids, they're always here. You see, we had to put up those >> but they want they want to they want to press charges. Okay. >> For what reason? >> It's act you can't point a weapon at someone. >> It's a BB gun and she didn't point it at them. >> We're always out here playing with Okay. There's a video of her pointing it at them. >> Okay. >> So, what happens now? >> Well, she's going to go to jail. So, I came over here to ask you if you can look look out for her kids for for the meantime. >> Of course I am. >> She's making calls, arranging. Do you know that? How does that get a bond? How does that >> does not get a bond? It's a felony. >> Are you kidding me? >> Back assault. Yeah. >> So, what happens? So, she has to wait until court or >> Yeah. Uh 8:30 tomorrow morning. In the morning, first appearance. Yes, ma'am. >> Can I go talk to her and see if there's anything? >> Not right now. I mean, if they pull the car up? Yeah, definitely. Um, but he's he's doing his >> neighbors were shocked, but as one woman said, "If someone did that to my kid, I'd lose it, too." It's the same old story. When kids stay home, people complain they're glued to screens. When they go outside, someone threatens to shoot them. And the cold, detached tone of this Karen mom in the following conversation says it all. >> Mom. >> Yes. >> Um, I need your help. >> What? >> I need you to come to the house. I had driving by the house antagonizing, like flicking me off, and I did something stupid. Um, and they're accusing me of doing something even worse, but I'm being taken to jail. >> You got to be kidding me. >> No. What did you do to do that? I >> What did you do? >> I held up a BB gun, >> Victoria. >> Okay. So, what do you want me to do? Come to the house just to be there. >> Until Mike gets home, please. >> Oh, >> and it probably won't be until tomorrow I get out. So, I need somebody to call Bobby. >> So, you're the police are at your house right now. >> He's holding my phone. Victoria, you you just weren't Okay, I got to get dressed and I'll be over. Okay, Victoria, I'll pray for you and and and and good luck. I don't know what to tell you. >> Thanks, Mom. >> Do they get in trouble because they got a video of running and just lazing through here like they did reckless. >> We don't We don't have We don't have proof of that. >> Oh, but you do have a video that shows. >> Yes. >> And it shows that they're stopped, but they're driving by fast. driving by with her raising her hands like that and then she admitted to pointing a BB gun at them so it aligns. >> It's so crazy. >> I I know, but unfortunately that's not the right action to take. Could have hit them in the eye. Could hit like with anyone though. >> She wasn't going to hit them. >> I understand. But still, you're pointing like right here. >> I understand. But you're pointing a weapon at someone. That's not a kind action. That's okay. >> A baby gun doesn't kill though. >> You'd be surprised. In the end, the woman was taken to jail and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of child abuse. She was released on a total bond of $20,000. The child abuse charges were later dropped, but the case remains under investigation. She had no prior criminal record in Indian River County. While one Karen unleashed her anger on strangers kids, another child somewhere else was enduring the same cruelty inside her own home. A call from a witness brought police rushing to the scene. A 12-year-old boy had run away from home, pleading for help. He said his mother had been abusing him. But when the officer saw the boy's back, she realized this wasn't just the story of a scared child. It was the proof of years of pain. >> Hey, I'm Lisa. >> I'm Jason. Nice to meet you. >> Nice to meet you. >> Can you explain what happened? I'm sorry. >> Yeah. Yeah. Okay. >> Um, so I I live in this neighborhood for a walk and he came riding up to me super fast and he stopped and he was crying and he's like, "Can you help me? My mom abuses me. I need help. She's going to come after me. >> Okay. >> I look at his back like, "Oh my god, I'm like come with me hiding the police. He's been talking. He has been asking questions." I used to be a probation officer. So understand um >> his mother single parent um babysits kids are at home. >> So that's scary. >> Won't let him eat unless he does his chores. He hasn't eaten last night. It's been abusing her for years. She smokes weed and other drinks in the house. She acts crazy. Um her name is Stephanie Miller. >> Okay. >> She has a sister in cereal named Sierra. >> Um no dad, but he's pretty he's pretty open. He's he finally he played football. He was finally >> he had to wear long sleeve shirts and football practice. >> All right. Why don't you talk to your officer here? Hey, I'm Jason. What was your answer? >> Hey, I'm sorry to hear about what's going on. >> Yeah. >> Um, how long has this been going on? >> Okay. Like six. >> Yeah. Really? >> Okay. I got you. >> Okay. So, I want you to know we're here to help. What we're going to try and do is try to figure out what's going on. Okay. It sounds as though she has hurt you a couple times with extension cords and other things and that's what caused these marks on your arm and your back. Is that correct? >> And the last time that this happened was today or last night. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And so you left because you didn't want to get hurt. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And where do you live? It's >> okay. I know this is a lot, so take your time. Okay. Nope. She's not she's not going to come at all. She's not going to come near you for the time being. Okay. And you don't got to worry about that right now. >> Her sister. >> Okay. Do you know? So, is it your aunt? >> Yeah. >> Is your aunt aware of what's been going on? >> No. >> No. No one is. Okay. So, we're going to try and make contact with your aunt and see if she's okay with you staying with her. Um, and we're going to go from there. Okay. >> 6 years of constant abuse showed this wasn't a moment of anger. It was a long-term pattern of cruelty. The beatings and starvation worked hand in hand, breaking both body and spirit. The boy had learned to hide his injuries when he played sports, a heartbreaking sign of deep fear and isolation. >> Hello. >> How are you? Are you right? All right. We just spoke to Yeah, he got in trouble. >> Okay. Um, >> go ahead. >> What where's he at? What's going on? >> So, he was a couple streets over. He was requesting that someone call the cops because of some of the injuries he sustained. >> He's got a weapon. >> I got you. Um, so by all means, you can do the parenting that you see fit. >> Okay. The uh the hard part is is he has open gashes on his back and and scars from where you've where you've lashed him and so you are going to be currently under arrest. Okay. >> No, no, I understand. I'm more secure securing your car at this point in your house. >> Oh, that's what I'm saying. Can you lock my car door? And can you um >> phone calls before cuz I need to like have somebody come can get my dogs. >> I understand. Domestic violence. >> Say you say again. I'm sorry. I'm being charged with something. >> Yep. Yes, ma'am. >> At the very least, you're being charged with assault, if not more. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Yes, ma'am. >> All right. So, walk to the car. >> Yep. It's at the hospital. I just got to unlock it real quick here. All right, I'm going to read you something. Have any questions? Tell me after. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say canon will be used against you in a court of law. >> When a child turns to strangers for help, even the abuser must sense they've crossed a line. In her distorted world, it wasn't abuse, it was discipline. So, when the handcuffs finally clicked, it shattered the illusion that she held absolute control. >> Um, so what exactly happened? What's the I don't know what all happened. I don't >> I I'm sorry. I did go too far. He hid the belt. I usually would have whoop him with a belt. Mhm. >> Um, and it's I never whooped him this bad. So, I >> I probably did go a little too far with disappointing him, but I didn't realize he had any any um, like you said, he had opens or something. I didn't realize he had that. And I just looked up and I noticed he had left, you know. So, I was going I was about to leave and go look for him. Um, he got in trouble and he got his PlayStation to look at his phone. >> Okay. What he did to get in trouble? >> He wasn't doing his chores and he was playing on his game instead of doing >> Okay, I got you. >> Um, I'm sorry. >> Hey, things happened. Um, now there was some previous scarring on him. What was that from? Um, he's an active kid trees and we hiked and he I mean he was running >> I mean it was whips all around his body so don't lie to me. Okay. >> He got in trouble for like acting up. >> Okay. Is this a repetitive thing? >> He's been acting up since me and my ex broke up in February. Is this something he's going through or is it like kind of >> acting up really badly, running away, going all the way to the neighborhood over by the hospital without permission? Um like sewing. >> Mhm. >> He I mean he's just been acting up even his grades in school. Um sneaking talking to girls, you know, that he met online that he's not supposed to talk to strangers. like he's he's just kind of been getting out of control and I've been doing everything I can to discipline him like >> be a good mom. Listing her son's mistakes was her way of convincing herself and the cops that her violence was justified, that she was the victim of a difficult child. In her mind, she wasn't the aggressor. She was the suffering mother pushed too far. >> I'm just going to be blunt with you. Do you discipline any other children? >> No. No. Okay. >> Just my son. >> Okay. Is that your only kid? >> That's my only child. >> Okay. Um All right. How do you discipline other children? >> I don't discipline the other kids. >> You just let them go. >> I mean, I I don't put my hand down. Um, you know, he lost a parent and he's been acting out behavior-wise because of everything he's done. But >> I got you. >> We He never had these problems. Like, he never behaved this way. So, I never had to really discipline him until recently. Like, I don't like stanking him anyway. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Um, I don't know if he told you that or not. >> No. Um, but that that's the game plan right now. I just want you to be aware of that. Okay. Um, >> we're not going to put him in foster care with him or >> that that's not up to us. We don't >> he can't he can't go to my sister or my dad or my aunt's house. >> Okay. >> I don't want to strike, >> right? No, I'm sure. >> Um. All right. Um, and just for clarification, when you say you um have hit him with a a belt before, is that >> Usually I spank him on the butt with a belt. >> Okay. >> So, this time I didn't have a belt cuz he hit it. So, I used an extension for it. >> Okay. How'd you use that? >> I smacked him with it. >> Okay. Like in a whipping fashion or >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Her admission that she had hit him for real didn't come from guilt. It came from resignation. After Tombs County laid on me, kept me for a week, got the matter, got here, I done paid for the civil suit checks. I should not be on probation here. >> I got you. Yes, ma'am. But you do you still do have that warrant that is active right now. >> You want to transport me? I'll take you. [ __ ] >> Yes, ma'am. That's what we're going to do. We're going to take you. Nothing. I CAN TAKE OFF RUNNING. OKAY. WELL, we're not going to do that. >> Yeah, WE GOING TO CHASE THE NIGHT IN the rain barefoot in the rock. >> ALL RIGHT. >> I'M NOT GOING TO MATTER AND SIT IN THE CELL FOR HOURS ON TOP OF HOURS WHEN I'VE BEEN DROPPED FROM THEM CHARGES. >> I got you. That's something you're going to have to speak WITH THEM. >> THEY TRANSPORTED ME HERE. MAGISTRATE COURT SAID I COULD NOT COME BACK UNTIL I GO TO COURT. SO, TELL ME ABOUT THAT. >> OKAY. YES, MA'AM. THAT WAS SOME [ __ ] UP [ __ ] MATTER OF FACT, 3:14. >> OKAY. >> SO, GUESS WHAT? >> Y'ALL GOING TO CHASE. >> We're not. >> Then things went sideways fast. What began as a simple warrant arrest turned into a full-blown struggle. They weren't trying to provoke her, but they just woken up the beast that had been sleeping inside. Now, they had to fight to keep the situation contained. We are not doing this, >> man. I don't care. >> PUT YOUR HAND BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> Y'ALL CAN stop this all y'all want. >> Let go of THE BACK. >> NO, IT'S MY STUFF. >> LET GO OF >> FOR Y'ALL TO GO THROUGH IT AND [ __ ] WITH ME ALL THE TIME. Step it up. >> She behind step when y'all could just let me get in. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> No. >> Now. >> Hell no. >> We're not asking. >> I don't care. Could have got in. >> We tried to do this sibling. >> How you doing? Stop resisting, >> Jackson. >> I don't care. I ALREADY GOT THREE PROS IN HERE. >> You can put them in the front, but you rather do it. >> They're not going in the front. >> I don't care. We got to pull in. Get my phone, bro. Stop. When backup arrived, they finally managed to get her restrained. She lay on the ground, clearly exhausted, no longer fighting, but still refusing to cooperate. She wasn't resisting with strength anymore, but with silence. To her, surrender wasn't an option. >> I got I got this. I got this arm. I got this arm. I got the left arm. I got the left arm. We're good. Got Need another pair. No, >> we got No, we got that. All >> right. >> There you are. >> You going to get up, man. There you go. There we go. >> You can put her in mine. I can transport her. >> Oh, where she at? Where you at? >> Down here. >> All right. Thank you. >> Good job. All right. >> Yeah. She hit hit me. She >> hit you. >> Yeah. Good. >> She hit me and Katanzeras. >> You all right? I'm fine. Are you in? Okay. >> Fine. Yeah. >> She's probably going to need to go to our jail now. >> Yeah. She's going to our jail. >> She's laying down. She >> going to need a chair cuz uh >> Sergeant, we did sweep her. family. >> You good? >> Yes. >> Her steady breathing showed she wasn't out of energy. She was in control, even in handcuffs. That made handling her even tougher. Once she was placed in the patrol car, she finally gave in, stopped resisting, and was transported to jail to complete the booking process. >> Hey, cut it out. >> You following? Yeah. You got two behind you. >> 207 states bro. >> I'm going to be a route to the BCSO. One female. >> Yeah. >> Hey, come on out. >> LEAVE ME THE [ __ ] ALONE. >> Come on out. >> LEAVE ME ALONE. We're getting Come on. >> Go the other side and push her. I got >> stand your big ass up. >> TWO COPS CAN'T TAKE DOWN ONE. SHOULD HAVE SNUCK my best friend. >> They should have sent me. >> Yeah, I would have been in the car with y'all. >> I appreciate it. In the end, Miss Jackson was charged with two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer, two counts of resisting arrest, and destruction of government property. Because of the violent nature and the number of felony charges, she's likely facing serious prison time and a permanent mark on her record. The officers barely had time to catch their breath after that chaotic arrest. before the next wave of madness hit right in the middle of the street. On August 6th, 2025, police initiated what was supposed to be a routine traffic stop. But the moment the male passenger slapped the woman beside him, everything changed. The deputy immediately stepped in and as the man fled, the woman began to unravel right before their eyes. >> I hit you. That's what happened. >> He didn't hit me. >> Okay. Well, I I saw what I saw. >> Okay. baby got in your face and then you elf like this and stuck you in the face. >> That's cool for him. >> He's my friend. >> Man, but friends don't treat friends that way. >> How old are you? >> That's really not important right now. >> Talk to him. >> I'm just asking you a question. >> Just so you know, >> so don't be offended. >> Get out of the road. >> Get out of the road. >> Get out of the road. >> Get out of the road. >> What? Get out of the road. >> For what? >> Because you're standing in the middle of the road. >> Really? >> Yes. >> Either move now or I move you. >> Okay. Move. >> Move. >> Get out of the road. >> You're a Get the off me. Get the off me. >> Relax. >> Get the off me. >> I didn't touch. >> Get the off me. >> Shut up. >> Don't >> No, I'm not going to shut up. You want a ticket for a pedestri for a drunken pedestrian in a roadway? >> Drug. >> I said drunken pedestrian in a roadway. >> What >> the drunk? >> What >> that you drunk? >> Who are you? >> I'm officer. >> Oh my god. >> Prove it to me, buddy. >> Prove it to me. And peek in Illinois. >> You? >> Yeah. >> You're sweet. >> Yeah. >> What are you guys arguing about? What? >> View me. Whatever. >> I don't even know what you're saying. >> Well, I know. Mhm. I deal with you and fire people. Yeah. >> Okay. >> Get the out of my face. >> Get the out of my face right now. >> I'm not going to. >> Okay. I'm leaving. Relax. >> I'm leaving. I have a wife. Get the off me. Get your >> From the start, she showed blatant defiance and a delusional sense of self-righteousness. Her over-the-top reaction to simple commands along with questioning the deputy's authority were clear signs of intoxication or stimulant use. And the situation escalated fast. >> Okay, now you're nervous. [laughter] >> Grab your feet and pull them out. >> Three people. Three people. Okay. Three people. Three guys. Okay. Whatever. >> Whatever. Three guys. >> Yeah. Uh-huh. >> Yeah. Oh, take me. You're under arrest rag back to a police officer. >> Whatever, buddy. You'll learn. You'll learn. Get the Get my face off the floor. Get my face off. I don't care what you have to do. Get me my face off the floor. Thank you. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> Enough. >> Oh, this is me. Go. My What? >> My pants are falling down. Can we get >> Do you even care? >> Do you even care? >> What your mom has to go through? >> I'm always your mom. >> Oh, look at the face. Look at the face. >> You're going to get it. >> You're going to get it for sure. >> You're going to get it for sure. >> Don't even Don't even get my pants up. Get my pants off and stop restraining me. >> Stop restraining me. Stop. I will be leaving my Oh my god, you're hurting me. You're hurting me. Oh my god, you guys are going to be so much in trouble. Oh my god, I'm going to kick everything to you. >> Oh yeah, you especially. And you know it cuz I know you. I know you. Yeah. This is what you deserve, huh? >> As she lost control, she tried to take it back with the only weapons she had left. Screaming, crying, and begging. Every outburst was a desperate attempt to deny reality. But the harder she fought, the deeper she sank into the chaos she'd created herself. >> Do you think she need to go to the hospital anymore? >> Do you have a medical complaint? You're holding up to me any of my children. I always [screaming] stop. Stop. >> All right, sit up. Let her roll on her side. Try and get her pants out. Okay, you need to sit up. Sit up so we can help you up. We'll sit you in the back of the car. >> You guys are pathetic. >> You need to sit up. >> You guys are pathetic. You guys are pathetic. I'd rather die right here on the floor. You guys are pathetic. Get the off me. Get the off. WELL, SOMEONE help me. >> YOU GUYS ARE PATHETIC. ALL OF YOU. >> SIT UP. >> There's no women. >> Stand up. >> There's no women here. >> And there's no women here. >> Stand up. Make sure >> you guys are pathetic. >> You guys are pathetic. And I'll work for you. >> Don't worry. Don't worry. >> I got two. I got two behind me. >> Yeah. You're going to pay. You are going to pay. >> Cool. Sit down in the car. >> You are going to pay. You are. >> Sit in the car. >> You are. >> I hope you push in. >> You are going toing pay. >> Yeah. Yeah. Uh-huh. Oh. Does that make you feel so strong? Oh, yeah. I can get that beat behind bar. Put your foot in the car. >> Yeah, I know. Yeah. I know exactly. Get the off. >> Bite me. What the are you doing? Stop my face. >> Get the off my face. You're >> not going to bite. >> Get the out of my face. Stop. You [ __ ] I remember. >> Even after being placed in the patrol car, her mouth didn't stop. The threats kept coming over and over, filled with anger and refusal to accept blame. She mocked the officer's strength, trying to salvage some dignity. Eventually, it became clear it had all started with a domestic violence dispute. >> I'm going to get you. >> Cool. >> I'm going to remember you. >> Cool. >> I'm going to remember you. >> That's so cool. >> Yeah, I'm going to remember you. >> Okay. >> I'm going to remember you. I did nothing wrong. >> Hey, he might. >> I did nothing wrong. So, off you head. What's that even mean? >> You're a renegade. You're a renegade. >> What does that mean? >> Off me. Get these off of me. >> GET HIM OFF OF ME. >> I thought medical needed to talk to her. We dealt with these two a little bit ago, a couple hours ago. She was up at the park drunk as yelling at little kids. >> Oh, yeah. >> As they were trying to play in the park and tried to square up with both of us and they were talking to him. No, he didn't. >> And she came up and started to get involved with us and I told her, "Get out of here. She's going to jail, too." And she went and sat down. She didn't say anything else, but I don't know what happened here. >> He The deputy was driving saw him smack her and got out and told him to stop and said no and started walking away. [groaning] >> I'm working on her. I was like, >> "Keep it up, buddy. Keep it up, buddy. You look baseball hat." >> Yeah. There you go. There you go, buddy. >> You Oh, what are you finding? Oh my god. Just get out of there. >> There's nothing there. >> Oh my god. How am I supposed to hold this pressure? >> Oh my god. There's nothing there. Hurry up. >> Oh, let's make something up. >> Cook Street. >> Yeah. I attacked you. Yes. Do it. >> When she had nothing left to lose, she turned to verbal attacks. Every insult sharp and deliberate aimed to provoke to make someone snap. She wanted to win even in defeat. Yet not once did she show a hint of remorse. >> No issue with me. You have no issue with me. You need to the shut up. >> Yeah. It don't matter. It don't matter what you do. It don't matter what you do. I'm going to still talk. >> Yeah. And then you're showing my son. >> You're showing my son what you do. >> Actually, >> yeah. When they speak up. Oh. type hair. So if you get that [ __ ] off you, you'll have no remembrance of who you are because your hair will be gone. What are you going to do? What are you going to do? Get the off of me. Get these tids off of me. Get these cuffs off of me. You have no reason. >> Do all of your >> [ __ ] fat hat. Go [ __ ] cuz you're younger 625. >> 5-10. >> You're in. Oh. Oh, you can't take that hat off, huh? Because Oh, >> go back to her. >> What is he? 22 years old. 22 years old and you're influencing them. You're a >> what? >> He's Illinois. >> You got the window open right there, brother. >> Yeah. Just take off me now. >> NO. [screaming] >> HEY, DO YOU HEAR her right now? >> Go away. >> Get the go. >> He is my son. >> Go away. >> He is my son. Go. Get them >> stay right there. Don't move. Get the [ __ ] off of me. Get these cuffs off me. >> Get it on. Come on. Let's get it on. >> In the end, the woman was taken to jail and charged with aggravated battery of a peace officer, threatening a public official, and public intoxication as a pedestrian. In Illinois, aggravated battery against a peace officer is a class 2 or class 3 felony carrying a potential sentence of 2 to seven years in prison along with hefty fines depending on prior offenses. The street madness had barely cooled when just a few miles away, another queen was about to shatter her own throne inside a hotel. On February 21st, 2025, police responded to a call from the Marriott Hotel. A staff member reported a strange woman passed out on the second floor hallway. What seemed like a simple welfare check quickly turned into a chain of unexpected complications. >> Second floor room 203. She's just uh on the floor. I don't know if she's a guest or not. I was trying to make sure if she had a key on her. >> Is she like drunk or homeless? >> Yeah. No, she I mean she doesn't look homeless. I think she's just had a good time. I think she's just poking at the terrorist. >> What? >> Just trying to figure out what room >> I think. I'm not too sure. She's I didn't see the key on her, so I'm not too sure. >> I don't know what her name is. Did you try asking her or >> No, she's like she's not respons. >> Yeah, second floor. >> Ma'am. Hello. Hello. Hello. You wake up for me, ma'am. >> Hey, where the rose m please? Oh. Rosema, please. No. No. You're not in trouble. >> You're not in trouble. I need you to wake up. Okay. Are you a guest here? >> What's your name? >> All right. We're not doing this. Come on. >> Ma'am, are you okay? >> You got to talk to one of us here. >> Are you staying in this hotel? Are you a guest here? Do you have a room? Yeah. Okay. >> What room are you in? Do you know? No, it's >> okay. >> So, I'll just go back uh find out the front desk. >> What's going on? Are we coming from a bar? >> No, you're not in trouble. >> No, I know. >> Yeah, we're just trying to help you. The front desk called us because they found you. You tried to wake you up because you can't be sleeping in a hallway. >> You're very out of it. So, we're just trying to figure out what's going on. >> I know that that's a a wild way to wake up, but you know, I mean, is this your room right here? 203. Do you know? Do you have any idea? >> The moment officers woke her up, she reacted on instinct, defensive, confused, and trying to distance herself from the situation. [music] She refused to give her name or say where she was staying, as if silence could save her from trouble. But in her drunken haze, every move she made only dug her deeper. Logic completely gone. >> Glorified babysitting. I want to get you to your room so I can leave. >> Okay. >> Who are you staying with? Can we call them? Can you call them on your phone? >> My phone's right there. >> Cuz you're being difficult for no reason. If you just answer our question, we can get you to your room. >> Do you know how cold it is outside? If you don't cooperate with us, the hotel won't want you to be here, right? And then >> cuz right now everything's all good. I mean, >> we're trying to help you. >> If if you don't want to talk to us and don't want to help us, then then we're going to have to kick you out of the hotel. >> Oh, that's great. Go ahead. >> The hotel wants to. We We don't. The hotel wants to. Unless you find your room, then you can go in your room. Otherwise, you have to leave. Are you understanding me? Do you speak Spanish? >> Sure do. Thanks. That's great. >> All right. You're fun. >> I know. >> Can you put on your shoes for me? >> No, I'm good. Thank you, though. >> Oh, okay. All right. That's cool. >> Is this your stuff? So then why don't you grab your stuff? Cuz we're not staying right here. >> Oh, that's weird. Go ahead. That's great. Thank you. >> You okay? >> No room. >> She's not registered here. >> Cool. Okay. Get up. >> Got to go. Get up. >> Okay. >> Let's go. >> No, I'm okay. >> Stand up. Do you want to get up or you want to stop? Is there anything I could say or do to make you change your mind right now? >> No. >> Stand up. >> Why? >> Because you're not a registered guest at this hotel and you are being trespassed from the hotel. Do you want to put your shoes on first or do you want us just to bring you and kick you out of the hotel? >> Stand up. >> Does she like say she's here? >> She won't answer anything. No. >> Stand up. >> When hotel staff confirmed she wasn't a guest, the picture became clear. Officers warned her about the consequences, but she just smirked, defiant, convinced she was untouchable. She truly believed the rules didn't apply to her, and that was her biggest mistake. I'll grab myself. >> Okay. >> Wow. >> Yep. We give you every opportunity. >> We'll just say no. >> No. >> Okay. >> There's a very easy way to do this. There's no reason. Why are you drinking? >> All right. >> No, you know why? >> We'll be fine. You want to just come? >> All right. Stand up. >> Your night girls. Hey, Amanda. So, um, if you're not a guest here, we can't have you here. You can't stay here. And uh if you're uncooperative, I'm g have >> Oh, look at me. Look at him. >> Sorry, man. I'm g have to ask him to take you out. >> Did you give her a trespass warning? >> You don't have a room key. Um but yeah, currently trespassing. We can't have you here. >> So, I really don't know what to tell you. >> I'm going to tell. >> Are you will Are you willing to leave on your own free will? >> Yeah. >> I don't I really don't. >> Don't you want your phone? What are you doing here? Put you on your phone. >> Put your shoes on like a baby now. >> Oh my god. My baby too, right? >> That's so fun. >> Where are you going? You sipping in the bus stop? Where are you going? You want to ride in the train station? I anticipate on the actual influence. Uh yeah, I get that in so much so >> she was given multiple chances to walk away and for a moment it seemed like she would. But as soon as she stepped outside, her defiance flared back up like she needed the last word. That final act of stubbornness reignited the chaos, sealing her fate. >> Have a good night. Happy birthday. I want that. >> Yeah. It's so weird and crazy over >> Do not go back in this hotel. >> Great. Cool. >> All right. Happy birthday. >> Yeah. >> All right. Thank you. What hotel are you staying in? So we can give you a ride then. >> I know the hotel that I can stand. >> What's the name? >> Really? >> Why? I'm being very patient. What hotel are you staying in? >> Well, I'm in the authentic, right? >> So, you tell me why should I >> Okay. Can I see your phone? Make a phone call to figure out where your friends are or your mom or your dad or whoever you're with. >> Do you have your phone on you? Can I see your phone quick? >> No, it's not my problem. >> Okay. So, you don't want any help from us? >> Nope. >> Okay. >> Thanks. So, I appreciate that. >> All right. We tried to help. >> All right. Have a good night. >> Okay. You too. that and also >> you don't have to do >> Are you staying in town anywhere? Are you staying in a hotel? What are you doing in Rosemont? >> Oh, I know the actual >> dude. You know what's great? I don't have to do that. [ __ ] collect that. Also, by the way, >> collect the [ __ ] >> Hey, >> you know what's even better? Stop it. Stop resisting. >> Yeah, you're trespassing. >> You're already told. Stop it. >> Good boy. >> No. >> Stop it. Please. Please stop. >> Stop resisting. >> I did. Resist. anything. >> She returned to the same hallway she'd just been removed from. As if she couldn't accept defeat. That decision alone was enough to get her arrested. Maybe deep down she thought jail would be safer than the world outside. But as officers tried to escort her to the car, she lost control, thrashing, yelling, and fighting all the way. >> Stop resisting. You're catching another charge. Let's go to the car because you're resisting. Let's watch the car. >> I didn't do anything. I have already told you you're under arrest. Now you are resisting arrest. What? >> Dude, do it. >> Um, my car [ __ ] leg. >> I did not. >> You hit me. That's battery. You better cut it out. >> You got it. I didn't do anything. I'm just trying to tell you. >> Resisted, >> dude. I'm I'm trying to tell you. >> What the [ __ ] >> Stop. >> How am I supposed to stop, >> dude? I'm literally telling you. >> Get up. >> Get up. I'm telling you I'm not trying to >> You are though. >> You're telling me. I >> You just tried to kick me in the face. >> How? >> Get in the car, >> dude. I can't tell anyone. >> Get in the car. You're going to get charged with >> fight you. Get in the car. Get in the car. >> Get in the car. >> Yeah, I get that. I'm just Get in the car. >> God, dude. Get in the car. >> I'm just I'm trying. Let me I'm not trying to fight you. I'm trying to actually >> Okay, get your butt out. Then you should do it. >> Really? Because I'm really trying to [ __ ] It hurts. >> Really? It hurts. You don't. >> You said you would walk down >> here. Have you ever heard? No. That's my boot, >> dude. No, it's not. It's your jacket right here. Everything's video and audio recorded. This is your jacket. Don't stop making things up now. >> Let's get in the car. Let's talk a grown adult about this. Okay. >> In the end, the woman was taken to jail and charged with criminal trespass to property and resisting arrest. Under Illinois law, both offenses carry potential jail time, probation, and fines, reflecting the seriousness of her repeat and combative behavior. On July 27th, 2023, police were called to check on two children, ages 9 and two, who had been left [music] alone overnight with no adult supervision. When they opened the door, what they saw was haunting. The older girl was shaking, crying out for her grandmother, while the apartment was buried in trash, cigarette butts, and clear signs of drug use. Two portable toilets sat in the middle of the room, both overflowing with [music] waste. The 2-year-old was filthy, soaking wet, and wearing a diaper that hadn't been changed all night. No child should ever have to live like this. >> Okay. Um, could you come with us, please? >> Okay. Um, it's going to be a few minutes if you don't mind hanging out. >> Yeah. Yeah, I can hang out. Just go down. >> Okay. All right. Appreciate it. So, >> I'm back. Okay. >> Okay. Um, because of the circumstances, um, you're at the PD. Um, you're in an interview room. Um, I have to advise you of your rights. It's a bit of a formality, but >> do you understand each of these rights I've explained to you? >> I do. >> Having these rights of minds, do you wish to talk to us now? >> Okay. So, >> I am getting a lawyer, but I Yeah, >> sure. Okay. So, um, do you want to have them here or you said you kind of already know what's going on, right? >> I >> So, I kind of explained it to you on the phone, right? Um, >> what is your guys's extent? What is what's the definition of extended? >> What do you mean extended? >> Like extended period of time. >> Um >> I understand what I did. >> Okay. >> Not right. You know, but >> morning. Okay. Well, that's I'm We'll be honest with you. That's not what we >> No, I I No, I >> I did leave the night before. I came back home. Okay. >> Yeah. >> And she was still >> No, they were not. They were Yeah. >> Okay. >> So, you're saying you you left at 1:00, but you came back? >> Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. I talked to my neighbor. She was right next door and told her I was like, "Hey, keep an eye on them." You know, she was in the shower when you guys were there. And I was like, "How did you miss that?" And yeah, >> that's why I was asking who miss >> my my neighbor. >> Okay. >> My next door neighbor. We were best friends in high school. She happens to be my neighbor. And >> I told her like, "Hey, I'm keep an eye on them. I'll be right." I planned on being right back, but >> it took hours before authorities could even reach the mother. When they finally did, she casually admitted she'd been gone for hours, leaving both kids alone. She claimed she asked a neighbor to keep an eye on them, but couldn't say who exactly. That's not asking. That's abandoning. And the result, two helpless children left behind in filth and danger. >> In generally speaking, a 9-year-old cannot take care of a 2-year-old. It must be left unattended. Right. >> Sorry. >> So, that's where that's where the charge >> legally. Yes. >> Legally. And given the conditions that the house was in, right, um the fact that the the 2-year-old was soiled, um she had urinated through her diaper, through her clothes and been an extended period of time, clearly since the diaper been changed, right? >> Law enforcement officers report. No, I understand. Absolutely. Um, and we as officers have that right to then take children into protective custody and notify DCS DCFS if there's no way for them to be cared for at that time. Right. >> Mhm. >> So, and that's exactly what we did. So, we been on the phone. We were on the phone and >> correct. Um, and they helped take care of the girls in the morning. >> I was picking my cousin. She works at Central Avenue T in >> she got off around like 1:00 and she closed down early, dropped her off and went home and they were asleep. >> Okay. >> Yeah. They were up for a while so they obviously slept in but yeah. >> Okay. >> No. And you can tell my neighbor I mean she can attest to that. >> So after you dropped her off at 1 about what time would you say you got back? >> Last night. >> Well it would have been this morning. No, I mean technically, I guess, but like I dropped my cousin off at >> What did you do after that? Once you got after got dropping her off. >> And then did you leave again? >> At 1:00 in the afternoon, the next day. Yes. >> On the afternoon. >> The next day. Yes. >> So today, >> yeah. >> Okay. So it's So you left at 1 is gone, right? >> Yeah. This No. No. >> So who? Absolutely not. >> You can confirm what you're telling us. >> Okay. >> Absolutely. >> This woman let her children live in a space clouded with smoke, drug residue, and absolute squalor. A direct threat to their safety and well-being. That's not just neglect. That's a complete disregard for their lives. >> I mean, has stuff like this happened before? >> No. Yeah. We'll sit with each other's kids. I'll sit with her kids. Absolutely. Absolutely. >> She's in an apartment. >> Yeah. Literally right my next door neighbor. We're best friends in high school. >> Does she have kids? She has two girls >> about the same age or >> they're a little bit a little older than mine, but a >> little bit younger. >> Yeah. >> Is there anybody else that would have come and gone from there or having did you have anybody else with you or >> I dropped my cousin off? I don't know. >> But nobody else came back to the apartment or anything. >> Okay. >> Was that a last minute thing to go pick her up or was that >> She Yeah. No, she didn't car got struck at work and Yeah, that was definitely last >> pretty often. I wouldn't say often, but like if we're going to run somewhere or whatever. Yeah. I mean, she's right next door. You know, it's convenient and it helps. So, >> how she Yeah. Yeah. She plays with her daughter and like I said, they're a little bit she's used to her friends are either way younger or way older. So, our youngest daughters are about the same age. And >> where you drop her off? >> Like probably 5 10 years old. She lives um east. >> East one. Okay. >> Yeah. She dropped her off and then went home. >> How long do you think that whole thing took? From going to pick her up at 1ish. >> The bars close at one. >> She she had clothes on her. So yeah. Um like 30 minutes. I ran the trash out with her and we immediately left and dropped her off. Didn't even get out the car. I put in park and well figured that out. Her boyfriend is dealing with that as I hit a deer. All right. >> So, just go like when you got back, you just went to bed pretty much immediately. >> And the girls were asleep at that time. >> What time do you think you woke up today? >> I'm not sure. >> Not really. From >> Where were the girls sleeping in the house? Were they in the living room or upstairs? >> Couch. >> Okay. On the couch. Both of them. >> Probably. >> She showed no remorse for abandoning or mistreating her kids. And truth be told, not everyone who gives birth deserves to be called a mother. It seemed like for her, chasing a man mattered more than the love and responsibility she owed to her own children. >> Where were you at when you when we started talking? >> I walked to her apartment. >> You were So you at her apartment? >> Yeah. I would have just walked home if I you know like but I mean that would have been a hell of a walk and but >> Who was the ride that you said you were going to get? You said that you had a ride with >> my friend, but he had to go to work. And so thankfully my dad is in town. >> Where's your dad from? >> Um he's from here, but he just took a job out in Colorado and he's in town for my birthday. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> The case worker. >> No. Yeah. Yeah. I'm just um What does that entail? >> Uh they will conduct their investigation to and determine whether or not basically that you're you're fit to take care of them at that point. Right. So until that point, until that they make their final decision and it goes to court, then they >> court, >> well, not necessarily the the criminal case, but the family court matter. So they decide and they get order >> um for the children. >> Do you guys have copies of that paperwork somewhere? >> I do. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Uh so that's where things are now. Like I said, you're going to be contacted by um DCFS in the future. I can't I can't say when. It has to be within 24 to 48 hours on that >> and I'm sure they they will contact you tomorrow before the weekend. So, >> yeah, >> but as is a safety plan, >> but like there's no safety plan in place cuz nothing was signed by both parties. So, like >> uh the plan is right now that they're both in the care of >> that's not her dad. >> Well, she's with your mom now. Both of them are >> she has a dad and that's not See, there is no safety. You understand what I'm saying? There is no That's not a safety plan. That's not what they would do. >> That's the plan that we have in place. Well, >> not we, but DJ, >> she can go with her dad. She don't even Yeah, she has a >> police later uncovered social media evidence, including Snapchat posts from around midnight showing Alexa partying while her kids were left alone. With DCFS stepping in, this was no longer just poor judgment. This had become a full-blown child welfare case. >> We're going to do all the the We're going to do all the booking here and then we'll give you a court date. >> It's not like the old days where you just jail for a misdemeanor. This is >> Yeah, we Yeah, we just >> Not that I want to go to jail or anything, but that's crazy. I don't know when they pass that be first of the year. >> Um, these laws came into effect about 2019. >> Kind of go like not good. >> Not that not quite. >> No, but like bad >> crime against people felonies still very >> I see domestic batteries. >> They is it they make it sound bad like you can I don't know. I see stuff on the news or like people >> date. >> We'll get you to that. You got like said fill all the paperwork. >> Okay. [clears throat] >> So, you have a court date on the 28th of August. If you come over here, please, and sign read here. This is just goes over explaining everything. You know, you're no bond. You're just going to have an this just that you a notice that you could appear on the 28th. Okay. >> Questions, comments, concerns, nothing. >> Not right now. >> Okay. Let you out the back. >> Can we off? >> Yeah. >> Appreciate it. >> Take care. >> Eventually, the mother was charged with endangering the life or health of a child. But because it wasn't an offense that required immediate jail time, she was released after processing and ordered to appear in court on August 28th. Do you think a mother like this deserves another chance to raise her children? If one night of partying is enough to make a mother forget her own child, then you won't believe what's waiting behind the door of that house. On December 21st, 2023, police discovered six children living in filth, surrounded by trash, animal waste, and the overwhelming stench of decay inside a run-down home. What they saw inside left everyone stunned. That very night, child protective services stepped in and removed the kids from what was once called home. >> What's that? >> No, you're good. Come on. >> I can't come inside. So, you need to bring the kids to the door. >> Guys, come here. >> I need you to get their coats. Get their dressed in their coats. >> Baby, put that dog up first so he doesn't run outside. Dear, >> come here. >> Come. I need your coffee. You smelling the Come. You need to come this way. >> Come on, buddy. Zip up your coat. Come on. >> You have to go to the hospital. I have to take all of y'all to the hospital. >> Just got to get you guys checked out. Make sure everybody's >> I need you to come and help get the children in the car. Kim. >> Okay. >> Where's the baby? I need the baby to be >> She's in the bedroom. >> I need you to get a a winter suit thing on on her. >> You don't have a mask or anything, do you? I do. I'm going to get you one. >> Thank you. >> Yep. >> Thank you. >> I'm so sorry. >> Where's the other Where's your other child at, dear? >> This is him. >> Okay. This is it. He's >> I only have six children. >> Only six. All right. Yep. One. >> And you guys are doing this while their dad's not here again. >> Come on out, buddy. Sister's bottle, please. treat children and I'll >> I gota um >> Hey, do you uh do you still need me over here, dear? >> Uh, no. I mean, you're all right. She's fine. >> Okay, >> I'm all right. >> All right, I'm going to head out then. >> All six children were taken straight to the hospital for medical evaluations. Nearly a month later, after gathering enough evidence, officers returned, this time with an arrest warrant. Kimberly was taken into custody facing serious charges of child endangerment. [snorts] >> Yeah, she's in here. Police come to the front door. How you doing, dear? >> Hi. >> What's your name? >> Kimberly. >> Kimberly, is your husband home? Michael? >> No, he is at work still. >> Okay, Kimberly, go ahead. Step out for me. Okay. You're currently under arrest. >> What can I do? >> Don't stick your head in. >> You have a warrant out for your arrest. >> For what? >> For child endangerment. Put your hands together. >> Hey, 16. You can come to the front door. >> I don't know where she's on. >> Hey, ma'am. What room is your mother? >> She's in the back bedroom. >> Okay. >> Put you in a car over here real quick, dear. We'll get you some shoes. Stop breaching. What is in your pocket? >> My vape. I was going to put it down, but >> you have anything illegal on you I'm going to find in the search. >> No, >> I haven't done anything illegal in a while. >> You have anything in your pockets? >> No. Tasty back here. Her children had been taken away. Yet a month later, she was still lying on the couch watching TV, surrounded by garbage, as if nothing had happened. If she were a real mother, the first instinct would have been to clean up, to fix things. You don't need money to keep a home clean. Just a little care and a heart that actually loves your kids. >> Where drive. >> Drive. >> Okay. All right. I'll be right back with you at work. >> Okay, perfect. Okay. And you're coming back home? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Uh, I'm going to be honest with you, sir. We have a warrant for you and your wife's arrests. >> What? >> Yes. For child endangering. So, it would behoove you very much to cooperate. >> Okay. >> Okay. Are you going to come back over here to Silvin? That way you can leave the car here. >> Yeah, I'm gonna get picked up. >> Picked up from where? >> Uh drive. >> Drive. >> Yeah. >> Okay. What's the address on the drive? Um how long it will be till you get there? >> Um 25 half hour. >> Absolutely, sir. What's going on? >> Why do we have a warrant for arrest? >> Uh for six counts of child endangering. >> Okay. We've been going through the CSB case for about uh since the beginning of January about the end of December, >> right? Well, the children services case >> is completely separate from the criminal investigation. >> Huh? >> I said the children services case is completely separate from the criminal investigation. >> You grabbed her a pair of shoes. She don't got none. >> Yeah. that license. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Actually, I'll grab a pair of shoes. >> Just remember that's next. >> You haven't gone in. >> Just let him grab the pair of shoes. >> All right. I guess I'll see you guys at the shop. Let me call my boss. I don't know what's going on. >> Okay. >> Michael wasn't there when police arrived, but they called him directly. Their tone was calm, but laced with a chilling warning. He agreed to cooperate, offered no resistance, as if deep down he knew. He had abandoned his kids for far too long. And now it was too late to undo the damage. >> Where's a Where's a pair of shoes for her, dear? >> She's going to be uh going to the jail, unfortunately. >> Yeah, it's still bad. >> Nope, that's not >> cuz I walked in there. >> Yeah, I know. It's still bad. >> The roaches didn't hide. >> Yeah, >> it ain't that big of a deal. She'll be out tomorrow. >> Yeah, she'll be arraigned. She'll have her day in court, dear. >> No reason to get all worked up over it. She'll literally be out tomorrow. >> Oh god. Seeping seeping out in the air. >> Yes, ma'am. >> You're a stronger man than I already route some home to pick up the other half. All right, J. I'm going to transfer over to my car over here. Go take a seat. All right, dear. And let me turn this light on. [snorts] >> What? That light doesn't work. >> After the arrest, officers began a preliminary interrogation. That's when the woman finally spoke. Not to deny or defend, but to reveal something darker hidden beneath the surface. >> You're willing to talk to me about why you're under arrest tonight? I don't even know why. >> So, it's a six count of child endangering. I was actually uh the original officer that responded out here with children services when they were removed from the home. Do you remember me now? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um I mean, do you understand why the children were removed from the home in the first place? >> Yes. I mean, how did how did how did it get that bad? How did how did the mess, the animals, the I mean, I'm going to be honest with you. That's the worst house that that day. That was the worst house I ever walked into. It's a little cleaner now. That's the worst house I ever walked into that had people living in it. How did How does it get like that? >> And I was the only one doing anything. >> Okay. So, you didn't have any help before that. Did you ever look around and go, "Something here has to change. My children shouldn't live in this kind of filth right now. >> Yeah. >> Why? Why didn't you change it, dear? >> Trying. >> Would you say you were kind of at a loss of what to do with everything? >> Yeah. >> You're saying Mike wasn't helping you out? >> No. He works too much. >> Works too much. I got you. >> He's still working, >> right? Is that is that your mom or is that his mom in there? >> That's his mom. >> That's his mom. Does she help out at all with the kids or anything? >> She watches the kids every now and then. Mhm. >> But she's up in her 60s. >> I gotcha. All right, dear. Well, yeah. So, I mean, that's that's why you're being arrested. This the state of that home that the children were in. It rises to the level of criminality. This is all stuff that they can work with you and everything like that. That's what CSB is there for. >> All right, dear. >> In the end, both the mother and father of those six children were charged with six counts of child endangerment. If convicted at the felony level, they could face years behind bars, permanent loss of custody, and strict monitoring by child welfare authorities. Each charge could carry up to 5 years in prison, depending on how severe the court deems their actions. From careless neglect to unforgivable cruelty, officers pulled the children out one by one away from the darkness, where mom was the scariest thing of all. On May 31st, 2023 in Flaggler Beach, Florida, police rushed to the scene after multiple 911 calls reported a woman violently attacking her young daughter in public, dragging her by the hair, kicking her, and hitting her hard in the back. The entire neighborhood stood frozen in shock, but what happened next only fueled more outrage. >> I just I just want to watch it, man. You >> No, I was with you. >> It was the Patriots. >> Hey, where do you want to go? What seat do you want to sit in? Because you have whatever option you want. >> Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am, can I help you? >> What is >> I'm telling my mom the truth. >> You're telling her the truth? >> I'm telling the mom. >> What's going on, sweetie? So, um, we just got there and she just messed with me up and and she keep on messing with me every single time and she kept on being crazy. [laughter] [clears throat] >> I'm trying to >> She put my head back into water. What is that in your hand? Do >> I have 1069 coming? >> That goes to this car that will start it. There's nothing else that will start. >> So you guys are just completely okay. She's having a meltdown to seven. >> Okay. And everybody else are concerned, folks. Making sure that we watch you for 20 minutes. >> She's been trying to go on the street with a bike and a busy street. We We're concerned with the child safety. That's why we're here. Okay. >> All right. So, I have another officer that's coming. Okay. So, we can start separating people and getting everybody. >> Step in my way. It's not illegal >> because whenever you do that I raised two kids >> money. >> Yes. >> Amanda. >> Amanda, can you come talk to me over here? >> Yes, sir. >> Hang on just a bicycle in this truck. >> There's a bic. Okay. I I believe you. There's a bicycle. Okay. >> I did not. Come here. Come here. Come here. We're going to talk over here. Okay. >> Amanda, we're going to talk over here. Okay. Let me talk to her. Can I have a handshake from someone? >> What happened with What happened with mom? >> Um, now she just started going crazy now. >> She just started going crazy. Has that happened before? >> Yeah. Why did she go crazy? because um she always going crazy because she don't like sexy because um her mom just been mean and made ugly face to my mom. >> Who made ugly faces to your mom? >> My mom's mom. >> Your mom's mom. Do you have two moms? >> No. Like she has a mom? >> She has a mom to your grandom. >> Where is grandma at? >> Huh? >> Where is your Where's your grandma at? >> In Texas. >> In Texas. When did you guys come here? Um we were in we were um um sleeping in um like beside Florida and we got in Florida. >> In Florida. Have you been sleeping in your car? >> No. >> Yeah. >> We packed up all but she always yell at me every single time because um I just want to get new toys and and my mom don't let me every single time. She told officers she was often hit, yelled at, and forced to live in constant fear. Still, she tried to defend her mom, a heartbreaking sign [music] of trauma bonding, where love and pain get so tangled up a child can't tell the difference. >> And I have a dad, but he's a Virginia and they fight every they fight. And um I just I saw the but I I was born and um um I was born and um I was and mom's Billy and they my mom and dad just >> they just So now you live just with mom. >> Okay. >> My dad is in Virginia already because um um he moved. >> Did Did mom do anything other than yell at you? Did she hit you or anything? >> She always hit me, but um we fight >> every single time and I just ugly stuff. So, mom on accident. But >> that's my baby. >> Um so I just don't want mom to go to jail though. >> Why would your mom go to jail? >> Um she went to jail like three times. >> Three times? Why? Huh? >> Um, so mom and dad probably like my dad punched mom and my mom touched dad. My dad's name is Zach. >> So sometimes sometimes mom hits hits dad and sometimes dad hits mom. Does mom ever hit you? >> Um, every single time we always fight every single time. >> You and mom fight. Where does she hit you? >> Everywhere. >> Everywhere. When did she hit you last time? >> Um, so she hit me on to the All right. Because >> it hurts. >> It just hurt kids. >> Does mom hit you with her hands? Does she hit you with anything else? She usually hits you on your butt. >> Yeah. >> The mother may have once been a victim herself, but now she was repeating the cycle, unleashing the same violence on her child. When a victim turns into the abuser, the tragedy doesn't stop. It just moves inside the home. >> I don't listen to mom and she sticks her middle finger at me. >> She sticks her That's not very nice. >> I'm going to talk to my sergeant. Okay, >> just give us one quick second. >> Did you see what you see? >> I saw a tail end of it and she was pulling hair >> and they saw everything. >> Yeah, it's hard for me to talk. >> What happens to her >> in the immediate time? We have victim advocates who are really lovely people that work with us. And so the the victim advocate who's going to come to be with her right now is wonderful. I you know all the cry off like after that point I control. >> Is she going to be in Vagar County like in a system like in a group? >> No, it's up to it's up to the legal system. >> I'm a teacher so I know you've been on but I'll take her in. >> When you left she said where did he go? >> Yeah. >> She got nervous. She said where did he go? >> Can I have my phone please? >> It's coming. >> Can I have my phone? She's down there already here. Hi, Tay. >> Hi. >> With witness statements and what they saw firsthand, police determined the threat was real and immediate. The mother was arrested on the spot. No more questions. This was clearly a case of serious child abuse. >> Can you come come over to my car real quick? >> I am. What are you doing? >> I'm giving you my hands. Your hands are fine. Do you have anything on you that could poke me or stick me? >> Uh there's a razor blade and uh >> there's a razor blade. >> Yes, sir. >> Mom, they're talking to her right now. >> So, uh the mom has been at one of our bars. It's about 7:00 and it's what? Uh she's intoxicated. She was at a bar that was very busy. All right. On her part, what she did, she uh pulled the little girl's hair while she was on a bicycle, snatched her back, and then she kicked her more than once um in her leg and then hit her in her back. >> It's okay. >> I'm just looking at mom. >> Oh, mom's just sitting there chilling. >> Not keeping mom for sleep. >> Probably not. Probably not very long because >> Is she going to be okay? >> She's going to be okay. She's going to be with me and I'm going to take care of her real life. Do you trust me? >> But she's a big kid and she is um 30. >> She's 30. But sometimes even I'm 32 and sometimes even 30-year-olds they mess up and they get in trouble. >> Yeah. >> She always crazy me. >> She's always what? >> Crazy me. >> Crazy to you. >> So Amanda Hopkins was charged with felony child abuse under Florida law. If convicted, she could face up to 5 years in prison, fines, and permanent loss of custody. She may also be placed under supervision or banned from any contact with the victim. Behind every moment of chaos lies a quiet reminder. It takes only a second to lose control, but the consequences can last a lifetime.
