Hello, ma'am. >> How much have you drink for today? >> Two things. >> I think you're you're heavily intoxicated. >> Okay, let's go. >> From that fake confidence to those clumsy excuses, this Karen behind the wheel is basically building her own case step by step. I have no time. Keep looking at >> Hey, go go go go, baby. >> Enjoy. Good night. >> So, when booze blurs judgment and blows entitlement way out of proportion, who's really in control here? On June 15th, 2025 in Florida, a swerving car ends in a crash. But that's just the opening scene. When the officer walks up, they don't just find a drunk driver. They find a super Karen who truly believes her manipulation is strong enough to bend reality. And here's what really happened. >> Yeah. Go ahead. >> All right, man. By any chance, do you have an ID on you? >> Yes, I do have an ID on you. Thank you. >> Did you find it? >> Excellent. >> Thank you. >> Quick, do you remember? Can you tell me where are you right now? Where are you at? >> Yes, I am in Bokeh about to get to Bokeh Highland over here like the little island where my parents are, which is 5 minutes away from me. >> Okay. And then because another car like intervene on me, I had to do a quick maneuver. And >> how fast do you think you were going? >> Uh 35 miles an hour. Look, I had an issue with my car. >> Okay. >> Um the uh coolant system, the reservoir was leaking oil. So that means that there was an issue with the uh tubing system with the oil and so when it came out I have pictures. >> I'm trying to find my >> Okay, just don't worry. Don't worry for now. >> I'm in shock. >> Don't worry for now. I'm going to put actually >> and I feel like you guys >> Okay, listen to me. Look, we're going to put the bag right here. You don't care about me. You think I'm stupid or whatever. >> Listen to me. Listen to me. Okay. Nobody Nobody said that to you. Okay. >> Just do me a favor. >> Instead of owning the reckless swerving, she pivots fast. Talking about the cooling system and an oil leak. It's a classic move. Try to go from traffic offender to poor unlucky driver with car trouble. But the second she steps out, Karen energy starts showing. Come on outside. All right. Leave the bag inside the car. >> 15. >> Yeah. He's going to do a comfortable repair. >> Oh, sure. >> But then I will take it for a >> Yeah, it took me It took me 20 minutes to get >> out the vehicle for me. Just don't worry. Ma'am. Ma'am, step out of the vehicle for me, ma'am. Step out of the vehicle for me, please. >> Don't let me repeat it again. >> Okay, let me help. I'm going to put the bag over here. Okay, step out of your vehicle for me. All right. Thank you. Do me a favor. Put >> I believe you're under the influence [snorts] of alcohol of alcohol control substance. Would you submit to Phil soiety test exercises? If you don't then I will go ahead and make any determination based of my observation of the the total circumstances right here. Okay. Would you submit to feel to feel so test exercises? >> Yes. >> Yes or no? >> Yes. >> Yes. Okay. So basically >> is it the alphabet of backwards? >> No. No. It's Oh my god. Like I saw I've seen >> it's a multitude. It's a multitude of exercises. It's not just one. It's >> I've seen the videos. I can't do >> I'm going to bring my camera. All right. Okay. So, ma'am ma'am, stand up for me real quick. >> Okay. You need help? >> No. >> Okay. All right. Come easy. Come right here. Come right here. Okay. Perfect. Okay. So again, you agree to participate in kill sobriety test exercises? >> Yeah, sure. >> All right, perfect. >> She walks into the sobriety tests with the confidence of someone who thinks she's seen enough body cam to know how this goes. But within minutes, reality smacks that illusion down. From Tik Tok to real life, the gap is loud, and you can see it in how she keeps hunting for excuses to rewrite the story. any uh uh have you had any uh mental surgery or anything like that that can prevent you your eyes from following? >> I think I'm losing my eyesight but okay. >> Okay. Anything more than that? >> No. Okay. Any problem with your balance? >> Um so I have an issue with my right leg. Uh >> which is >> Well, this is which is that okay. So, because someone crashed into me and it's I'm misaligned. >> Okay, perfect. >> Uh, will that prevent you from performing a balance exercise? >> Uh, I think I do a performance balance exercise. >> I think I can. >> You can? All right. Uh, would you be comfortable doing these shoes or you want to take them off? >> Oh, taking them off. It would be better. >> Perfect. Perfect. Do you understand? >> And then and then what? Just look at it. >> Yeah, just look at it. >> Okay. >> No, you can put your hand down. You're going to Yeah, put your hands down your side. >> West Road. Okay. >> Just with your eyes, ma'am. Remember I have no time. Keep your eyes. Keep looking at. >> All right. Okay. One more time. >> Keep your eyes open. Thank you. >> Oh, like like >> relax. >> What happened? >> I had a fight with my dad. [laughter] >> Just Okay. foot with your with your heel touching the toe of your left foot. >> Yep. Just like that. Keep your hands down and stay in this position until I tell you to start. Okay. When I tell you to start, you're going to take nine heel to toe steps on the line. >> Heel to toe. >> Heel to toe. >> Heel to toe. >> Heel to nine. >> You understand the exercise? Would you like me to demonstrate again? >> Once she realizes the physical tests are starting to expose how impaired she is, she switches gears again, straight into family talk, fishing for sympathy. It's not a confession. It's a lastditch attempt to protect her poor me image. Okay, perfect. Thank you. All right. So, come over here. Come over here, man. Keep your feet together. Hands on your side. Feet together like this. Together. That's not together. There is still gap between them. This is together. No gap. This is not together. This is not together. This is not together. That's a fork. Okay. Keep it like this. Okay. Thank you. Perfect. Hands on your side. So, with this exercise, you're going to raise whichever leg you want, you prefer, you feel more comfortable. 6 in off the ground, it's going to look like this, right? You're going to keep your hands down on your side until I tell you to stop. Are you done? Are you done? Yes or no? >> No. >> All right. And yeah, you're done. >> No, you said you're >> Time is over. >> You asked me a question. >> Yeah, but the time is over. I still had a few seconds left. You ask me a question and >> I mean if you stop then perfect. Thank you. Okay. >> You ask me a question. >> Okay. Next exercise. Okay. Remember, close your eyes. You're going to tilt your head right back slightly. That's too much. Slightly. That's too much. I'm trying to help you out. That's too much. >> By this point, she can't accurately judge her own behavior, but she's hyper sensitive to any kind of control. So, she clings to tiny details to calm herself down. It's a frantic effort to keep the illusion of being in charge after that overconfident performance falls apart >> of my nose. Right. >> Yeah. You cance once you touch you can bring it down. >> Right. [snorts] >> You don't have to hold it. You can bring it down. >> Left. [panting] You don't have to hold it. You can bring it down. Remember that. Right. One last exercise. I'm going need you to turn around and look at the fire rescue. All right. Perfect. Okay, man. But we're going to skip that part. >> Wait, wait, wait. No, no. Turn around. Turn around. >> Wait. I've been cooperating. >> Huh? Yeah. And >> And now you're pulling away from us. No, I've been cooperating. >> Now you're pulling away. So you're being placed under arrest for driving under the influence. >> No, I've been cooperating. >> Okay. >> Cuz we're good. >> And >> Okay. Take this off. Okay. >> Excuse me. >> Yes. >> Can I've been cooperating with you. Why are you upset with me? >> I'm not saying that you're not upset with you. >> We're not upset with you. >> Why? >> Why do you think we're upset with you? >> Because now you're putting handcuffs on me. Well, that's not us being upset. >> Yeah. Stop. Stop pulling. Stop pulling. I'm not pulling together. >> I'm going to be releasing. >> I'm putting my hands together. >> One second. I can't get your purse right now. Tell us how this comes off. >> Listen to me. All right. It's coming off. >> Yeah. >> Is it coming off? Just keep your finger. >> Is this how you take your bracelet off? >> Take it off. Take it off for me. Do not make this difficult. All right. So, you're being placed under arrest for driving under the influence. Okay. >> Can you put it in my front? >> Yeah. We're going to get your property. >> I don't believe in you. I believe in him. I like him. I don't believe in you. You liar. >> Okay. Well, here. This is us. >> Freaking little black guy or whatever. like [ __ ] someone out coke or crab like can I get my shoes dude can I get my shoes >> can I can I get my shoe >> in the end she's arrested and faces serious charges aggravated DUI and two counts of leaving the scene of a crash if convicted she could be looking at fines up to $5,000 and a license suspension of up to one year the outcome is the price of believing personal entitlement can outrank the law you'd think it Couldn't get worse. But then another Karen steps in and walks right into the trap. A routine speeding stop in Florida on November 21st, 2023 should have been a quick in-n-out. Instead, the driver chooses to sentence herself, even asking to go to jail. Something that sounds honest on the surface, but can also be a control move. The officers stay calm, and little by little, the mask starts slipping. >> Yes. >> How much have you drinking today? >> Two drinks. What do you have for drinks? >> Visit my dude who I like. Two drinks. Two drinks. Two drinks. >> What kind of drinks? >> Um >> like hard liquor. Like >> liquor. Yeah. >> Like what kind of hard liquor? >> One screwdriver, which means vodka. Right. Right. Vodka. Vodka. Screwdriver. Baka, >> I not a drinker. So, >> really? >> No, ma'am. >> I have been drinking. >> Okay. Yeah. One screwdriver and what else? >> Actually, I don't know cuz I don't know what the liquid is. I don't know what the liquid is. They should be pulling me over. I should be driving. I should not No, I should not be driving under pulling me over. It's not my friend's fault. It's my fault. I should not be drinking. I shouldn't be doing whatever I'M DOING RIGHT NOW. You're going to give me a ticket and shake me out for DY. >> Okay. Well, do it. >> We're trying to make sure that we we're on the right. >> Yeah, we're all on the same. >> Just do it. >> Are you willing to provide a field test? >> Why? I'm drunk. >> To determine the level. >> If I'm drunk, >> if you're impaired to drive >> Hello. Come on over here. I said I'm drunk. You don't have to do a test to say I'm drunk. >> Well, >> I'm saying you I'm drunk. >> We still have to conduct a test. >> No, we don't, dude. You want to do anything? >> I'm totally drunk. Just let me go in, get some sleep. I'm so tired. Take me in for doing DUI. >> Okay. Thank you. God damn. >> By presenting herself as a willing victim, she's trying to keep the upper hand. She treats arrest like a negotiation, like she gets to set the terms. But the moment she's told to step out of the car, the tension spikes. >> I have no condition. This way. So embarrassing. >> Ma'am, this way. >> Don't put your hands on Don't put your hands on Wendy. >> You know what he is? Okay, you're right. You're right. >> You're right. You have to No. No. Okay. Wait. Hold on. I just want to say one thing. >> You are absolutely right. You are absolutely right. You >> are young. Nope. >> YOU >> NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. I'm not going to do >> You are fine. You are young. You don't know how it works on this. You're like, "Hey, you're coming like this. You're like totally like this." By the way, y'all should not actually like because these mother liberals look >> Wendy. >> YEAH. OKAY. I'M SORRY. >> What do you want for my car? Okay. >> Yeah. Absolutely. I prefer to ask you. >> I prefer to have an argument with you >> because you know who you are, >> Mr. Deliverable. >> Wendy, >> I don't like you. >> Wendy. Hey, Wendy. Hey. >> Doing this. That's why people don't like you. >> No, I don't. No. No. I'm not touching you. I'm not doing. And everybody can record everything we're doing right now. And by the way, I was married to cop 30 years. >> Did I a do all types of >> remember? I'm not them. I understand what's going on. What do you want me to do? You want me to do it? Same same language. A B CDE E F G H I J K L M I O. I know how to do it. Thank you. >> But we're going to stand right >> 30 years of being married to a cop, right? >> I know how this works. >> I got you. >> You want to do it? Let me know because I have the attorneys because this is not what we're worried about. >> She's so confident, she starts running the alphabet like it's proof she's smarter than the younger officers. That swagger is borrowed power, leaning on the fact that her husband is a cop. But in real life, when someone keeps bragging that they know the law, it's usually the warning sign right before the slide. >> Right here. >> Right here. Stand right. >> What do you want me to do? >> I'm going to explain to you. >> Even though I expressed to you I was okay prior to this. >> I understand. >> But as I still >> I still have to give you the benefit of the doubt for you to >> the benefit of the doubt. It's not the benefit, honey. >> Yes. >> No. No, it's not. >> Listen, I don't just arrest people just to arrest. >> Really? >> Yes, ma'am. >> After 30 years of being married to a cop, I'm not married to you. >> You expect me to believe that? >> But I'm not married to you. >> Let's do >> Okay. I'm just >> smart. >> I'm >> Let's do what we got to do. That's fine. >> Stand right there for a sec. >> Stand right there on the >> Yeah. What do you want me to do? >> And I want you to face the car. >> You want me to face the car? Like this? No. No. No. That's okay. >> Yep. Stay right there. >> Stay right there. >> I'm going to tell you, >> as long as I'm actually passing the sobriety or whatever test you give to me, if I say, "Hey, as long as I pass it, I'm okay." Right. >> Absolutely. >> Tell me. >> So, make sure you stand right here. Back back up. Right here to the light. Yep. >> Okay. So, once again, start right here, Wendy. Right here. >> Okay. Yes. >> All right. >> Left foot. >> Left foot in front. >> Left foot. Left foot. >> All right. >> Wendy. >> Left foot. >> Wendy. Right here. Wendy. >> Under control. >> Wendy. Right here. >> Be funny. Why do you Spanish? >> Huh? >> Left foot. >> Spanish. >> Right foot in front of it. >> Okay. Heel toe. >> Really? Really? >> Heel the toe. I need you to stand right here. >> OR TOEN HEALING. I'M I'M SORRY. I was through Hurricane Andrew. I worked at Hurricane. I I have been so in my life that this is like don't care. But all right, go ahead. Put your left foot in here, >> Wendy. I am >> Wendy. >> Yeah, I am >> right here. >> All about me. >> It's all about you today. Stay right here. >> You am I? You and I are old, right? You're old. You're I'm old. And we're all They're not local. They don't care. They hate you. They hate me. But you're older than me. And you're actually a cop. >> Yeah, you are. >> Hello. >> Oh, you think I am? >> She begins to realize her body isn't cooperating with her brain anymore. So, she keeps pivoting, challenging the officer's rank, trying to flip the script. Underneath that is a mindset that she only respects authority she considers high enough. One last attempt to hold on to control. >> Pretty sure you haven't had three kids. And you look like by the way early. E early. You know why? Cuz you think of all that. And technically or not, I'm already in trouble. >> Okay. Come on. >> Basically, it could be one of two scenarios. I be a civilized normal human being society with a totally license of community sanation that will >> hey solid. >> Now you're not willing to continue your fuel sority test. >> I am totally willing to continue it based upon the fact that you will not take all my into consideration and I like them. I hate you. >> Okay, >> that's fine. >> Hey, can you not touch my my deputy? Come over here, Wendy. >> Done. >> Come here. >> I'm done. >> You're done. You're not willing to perform. >> All done. Mom, take me in. >> You're not really You're not willing to continue the field test. >> Hey, you know, >> so could I take my assay test and if I pass it, you can't do anything? If I face pass my survivors test? If you're not if you're not under the influence and you're >> I'm not >> and you're past the uh >> a lot of influence. >> What? >> Not a lot of influence. >> What influence? >> Uh I have taken no drinks, drugs, or narcotics or any type of type of any drugs until my doctor said you should take 0.25 25 Xanax to go nite and you should take Paxel cuz you're tired. >> Okay. >> Come on. >> Yeah. Yeah. Sit down. >> Listen. >> No. Are you taking No. >> Stop. Stop. >> Once she can't hide that she mixed medication and alcohol. She fully unravels. The moral talk doesn't work anymore. And in the end, Super Karen has to face the law. No bargaining, no special treatment. >> No, I just want to sit down. >> I'm done. I'm done. I'm done. >> You know what? I'm done. >> You know what? What are you doing? You're not that good at it, by the way. >> Oh, okay. You want to play that game? >> Sure. Go ahead. >> It's a verbal confrontation. >> Hey, stop resisting. If >> you were stop resisting or you going to go on the ground, >> stop resisting on the ground. >> Visible on a verbal confrontation. Neither of you going to do it. I can't do it. >> Dad. Dad. We're not trying to hurt you. We're not trying to hurt you. Look at that. You're not even a ninja. You trying to let me down. >> What do I do? What did I do? >> Let go. Let go of the hand. >> Get off my leg. I barely breathe. What did I do? >> Did I fight? Did I do anything? I'm just saying it's 57. What I will do is I will ask you to you don't know what's going on. You are actually a very young girl who has no clue what's going on in life. Go ahead. Go ahead. Oh, you actually hurt me, didn't you? And I didn't force at all. >> Are you ready, girls? >> Are you ready, girls? Bleed, Renie. RANDY, COME ON. Look at him. They're young. They're 30. They know everything that's going on. I'm all right, girls. It's fine. I'll do whatever y'all want me to do. What do you want me to be? Okay. All right. I'll show >> Look how young he is. Look at little fat ass haircut. He's almost like the hillbillies and locks, right? You got to be born in this raising it. You are basically a Oh god. My god. I'll beat your little hillbilly mother. I've been here since 1991. I've been up and down these condos for 12 years. I know the mayor. I know I'm not I don't would never do anything to you guys to jeopardize your I don't >> Wendy spent 30 years learning how to feel above the rules through her husband's shadow. But it takes about 10 minutes to learn that a body cam doesn't care who you're married to. She's ultimately arrested and taken to jail on charges including DUI, violent resistance/obstruction, and possession of a controlled substance. If convicted, penalties [music] could include fines up to $2,500 and a license suspension of up to 6 months. One Karen calls the trouble. Another Karen locks herself behind the wheel, silent, stubborn, and completely immovable. A crash onto a front lawn in Ohio on April 22nd, 2025 set off an unpredictable confrontation. The woman behind the wheel didn't choose silence. She chose verbal manipulation, hoping to turn a mistake into a misunderstanding. But once the evidence started speaking, every scheme began to fall apart. She's got a open container in the driver side door. I can kind of hear it in her voice a little bit right now. >> Smell it. >> Smell it. She >> texted her boyfriend voice of chat and said can't remember his name. Said I'm going to be in a lot of trouble. He said they're ready for you to take over. She's denying everything. >> Uh he said maybe >> denying like EMS and like stuff like that. So yeah. >> Okay. >> He's saying maybe if you talk to her might persuade her a little bit. Who knows? >> Yeah. She is I think she's toasted. >> Hello. >> I'm officer Gardi Police Department. What happened here? >> I have no idea. >> You don't know what happened? I was dropping one off a friend and I hit some [ __ ] >> Yeah, you hit a car and something. >> I didn't hit a car. >> Well, you did hit a car. Okay. How much have you had to drink today? >> I have not that much. >> Not that much. >> I swear to God. >> Okay. All right. I can smell alcohol coming off of you. All right. I don't know what you got in the door here, but is that a That looks like a alcohol right there in the door. Okay. So, what I'm going to ask you to do is to do field sobriety for me. Would you be willing to do that? >> The fact that she texted her boyfriend before officers arrived shows she knew exactly what she'd done. And when the smell of alcohol hit the air, a sudden medical story became her last mask. >> Uh, you'll have the opportunity to do that, but that's not to the that's not the point right now. >> I'm not a lawyer right now. >> Okay. So, are you refusing to do field sobriety? >> I'm not calling. I'm not refusing anything. >> Okay. Well, then I would ask you to step out of the vehicle and do some field sobriety for me. >> Okay. >> Okay. Go ahead. You step on >> I have autoimmune disease. >> I'm You have I'm sorry. I couldn't understand. You're kind of slurring your words a little bit. >> I I'm not sluring my words. I have autoimmune disease. >> Auto autoimmune. Auto autoimmune. Right. Would you step out of the vehicle so we can do some field sobriety? I live literally like a block away. >> Okay, I understand that. But you got into a wreck today. Hit a car and a couple other things it looks like. >> Miss, I'm I'm asking you to step out of the vehicle to do field sobriety. >> Yeah, you are. I know. >> Are you willing to do that or no? >> No. >> Okay. No, that's fine. Um I have reason to believe that you're probably under the influence of of alcohol, >> which has impaired your ability to to drive. Okay. Are you you're refusing to do any kind of field sobriety? Okay. I'm going to ask you to get out of the vehicle then because you're being placed under arrest for DUI, miss. >> Yeah. >> I'm asking you to get out of the vehicle. You can hang up your phone right now. And you can get out of the vehicle cuz you're going to be placed under arrest for DUI. >> Okay. You don't even have anybody. You don't even have the phone on. You're not even calling anybody right now. >> I'm trying. >> Okay. Well, I'm telling you that you can put the phone down and step out of the vehicle. Your phone can come with you, but you have to step out now. >> Listen to me. This is the last time I will tell you, and then I will pull you out of the vehicle and I will arrest you. Do you understand? >> Please get out of the vehicle. After this, I will pull you out of the vehicle and I will arrest you. Do you understand me? >> Ignoring commands while already at a disadvantage revealed her sense of entitlement. She truly believed she still had room to negotiate, but her stubborn refusal to exit the vehicle quickly pushed her toward an unavoidable outcome. >> Last chance. Step out of the vehicle. All right, time to go. >> Stand up. >> Place your hands behind your back. >> Behind your bear. >> That was the calmst I've ever seen somebody be ever after getting yanked out of a vehicle. Didn't even say a word. >> Didn't say a word. >> I realized it was going and then you guys, >> who is it? She got remarried to some dude. I don't know who it is. He used to be married to like my distant cousin. >> Is she a drinker? >> I think so. >> Yeah. >> But she used to be So when you guys were like, "I'm going to yank." I was like, "What? She's going to fight." And then you guys pulled her and nothing happened. What the was that pant leg got caught out here? >> All right, miss. Have a seat for me. >> I'm so sorry. I think you'd probably be more sorry to the people's car that you hit. >> You know, got that her wallet still sitting there or anything? >> Nope. I just came across the one and it was the liquid was spilled like everywhere. Like it was like not just in the left, it was in the middle cup holders. It was up on the screen and everything. >> It was everywhere. Okay. >> You didn't call for a to? No, not yet. >> All right. Yeah, as long as somebody collects my uh crash report stuff. >> She's in this one right here. >> Yeah, absolutely. Back uh driver's side. >> I think she [ __ ] I think she want to [ __ ] herself. I'm not sure. Just kind of I see what you're smelling, but like >> loss of bladder and bowel control is a common physical reaction in cases of severe intoxication, especially after a crash or sudden shock. In this case, her body was sending loud, clear signals. She was in real physical distress and urgently needed a restroom. >> She looks like she came off Lake View, hit this vehicle, and went all the way through the yard here, hit the tree. Looked like she might have backed up, and this is where it just kind of peted out. But we got no damage to that vehicle or anything. I don't know how >> the rut is like going right through the bumper. We missed it just by an inch. Nicole, thank you. >> If if you're if you're hurt. >> Thank you. I'm fine. Okay. Thank you. >> All right. But if you feel if you feel I'm fine. >> Okay. I'm just I'm not That's fine. What I'm saying is if later on >> if later on you start hurting, let me know and we'll get you out there. Okay. >> All right. You all right? >> No. I'm sorry. >> You got to watch out from the door a little bit. I have fibromyalgia room. >> Oh goodness. We're going to go right around this way. >> Can I please go to the bathroom? >> Can you step over here for me? >> Oh my god. Can I please toilet? There's literally a toilet right there. >> I know, but I can't let you out of my sight right now. >> Why not? >> I know. It's not my rules. I just have to go potty. >> We just got one more thing we have to finish up here. >> Oh my god. [clears throat] >> Can I please go pee? >> Like 2 seconds. As soon as you're done with this. >> The pain was written all over her face. She deliberately created an awkward social situation for the male officers, hoping their discomfort would open a door for her to avoid a breath test. When that didn't work, she shifted into full defensive mode. >> I'm not peeing in anything for you. >> I don't I'm not asking you to pee into anything for me. That's a good So, I guess that's a good thing you're not paying anything. >> No, hold on just a second. We're almost done. I understand that. >> Oh my gosh. >> We're almost done. >> Step right over here for me. Just a sec. Just a second. We're almost done. I promise you. >> No, I'm not going to blow on anything. >> Okay. Well, I have to give you the opportunity. >> Okay. You can't give me the opportunity. I'm not going to do it. I have to pee. Can I pee in that toilet? [bell] >> Just a moment. Would you give me blood or urine? Urine? >> Yes. >> Yes. Which one? Blood. >> Urine. >> Urine. >> Right now. Right now. I'm going to give you urine. >> Well, I can't do that here. I'd have to go out to the hospital. >> So, >> right now I'll give the urine. I'm not I I'll give you urine right now. >> Deep breath in. No. >> No refusing. Okay. Jesus, please. >> Okay, go ahead. You willing to provide me with a urine sample then? >> I just peed. >> Well, I know. I get that. But you said you would be able to do that if you want to go out to the hospital. I >> said, "Yeah." >> You want to go out the hospital and do a urine sample? >> I will pee right here for you. >> Well, I can't do it here. I got to go out the hospital. Yeah, we can go to this. >> Okay. Give me just a second. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. >> Step in here again. I got to go and make get my car ready. >> Okay. >> All right. You ready to go give urine test? >> I No. I'm going to I want a lawyer. >> Well, you can do that when you go to trial. Are you not going to do this test? >> No. I want a lawyer. >> Okay, I understand that. Do you Are you going to do this test or No, >> I want a lawyer. >> All right. Well, I'm not asking you any questions or anything like that. This is >> I want a lawyer. I'm so >> Okay. So, are you are you refusing everything? >> In the end, she faced DUI charges. Refusing chemical tests at the scene and at the hospital in Ohio typically triggers an automatic license suspension along with fines that can reach $5,000 in liability for damages. So, here's the real question. Should illness ever excuse someone for driving while intoxicated? From crashing into a lawn to slumping at a green light, all of it happened in [music] the span of a single breath. On January 5th, 2025, police were dispatched to a busy intersection after reports of a driver who had fallen asleep while her car was still in drive. The vehicle rolled past the stop line, narrowly avoiding a serious crash. And that was just the beginning of what no one expected. >> For me, Hollywood Police, can you put the car in park? Can you put the car in park for me? >> Put the car in park. >> Okay. I'm going to open your door and I'm going to put the car in park cuz I'm afraid you're going to take off here. All right. You're going to stay right there. Okay. >> You're good, bro. You're good. Go. >> Where are we? Where are we coming from tonight? >> Where are we headed? I see that's your ID in the cup holder. Can I get that? Get your ID. >> Where? >> What? >> Why? >> Because you're asleep at the wheel. >> I'm asleep at the wheel. >> You were asleep with your car in drive. You almost were in the middle of the intersection. You're actually past the crosswalk here. Arrogance often starts when someone sees their own mistake as someone else's inconvenience. She didn't see herself as a danger. She saw herself as being bothered. A sober person would have stopped after a near miss. But to Karen, the police weren't helping. They were an attack on her ego. >> Where are we asleep? >> I'm sleeping. >> Okay. Again. Are we headed home? Were we at work? >> We're lying. So why are you stopping me for? I'm stopping you for sleeping behind the wheel. And right now, I think you're you're heavily intoxicated. >> Okay, let's go. What does she need me to do? >> I didn't Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Okay. Yeah. All right. Sit down in the car, please. You're about to fall over. Please sit down in the car. >> Fall over. >> You You don't think you were about to fall over there? >> If this door wasn't here to catch you, you would have landed on the pavement. You >> got additional force coming. >> Yeah, I got somebody coming. Okay. >> Please have a seat in the car. I do not want you to fall. No. >> Please have a seat in the car. Okay. Can I please have your ID in the in the cup holder there? >> Uh, of course I can. >> Of course I can. I would greatly appreciate it. Please >> do the test. Why you not allowed to go? >> Hey. Okay. >> You're not allowed. I'm not trying. >> I'm not trying to open my door. >> Ma'am, >> close it. >> We're trying to help you. No, >> the officer. That's it. >> You're not allowed. You're going to go on cuffs. All right, because you're being very difficult. Turn around. >> You know it's crime to have two IDs on you, right? >> Have a seat in the car. >> You want to give a puss, too? >> Have a seat in the car. We're not doing >> You want to get my [ __ ] too? >> We're going to have a seat in the car. >> You want to get a [ __ ] >> Have a seat in the car. We're not doing this. You have to. >> No, I don't have to. >> Yes, you do. >> No, I don't have to. >> See where? >> Have a seat. All right. >> Now, you happy? >> No. I'd like you to have many gifts you have. >> How many gifts you have with child support? >> 19. >> Most people know when it's time to stop once they realize they're impaired. She didn't. She kept arguing, kept acting tough like she was still in control. In reality, it was just fear. Fear of admitting she'd gone too far. >> Do you know what this country is? >> Freedom of speech. >> Okay, here's the deal. >> Do you know what that is? >> Here's the deal. >> Do you know what freedom of speech? >> Will you please stop talking so I can explain this to you? >> No, I don't have to. >> I want to talk. I want to have a conversation. A conversation is back and forth. >> Freedom. Thanks. Yeah. >> Have a good one. >> Yeah. You know >> real quick. >> You know what that means? >> Boss man. >> That mean you Okay, here's the deal. >> Hi. >> Here's the deal. Here's the deal. You know what's the deal? They're going to dismiss the case. You know why? >> Why? >> Cuz you got me handcuffed >> on. >> Nope. >> You want that? >> No. Why? >> You really a sergeant >> right now. Okay. >> I'll call my sergeant. >> I'll call my sergeant after you let me explain this to you. >> No, I don't give a [ __ ] >> You don't give a [ __ ] >> Well, you're you're going to call your sergeant right now and he's going to come here and he's going to decide >> either. How about that? >> No. Okay. I'm going to tell you right now >> I decide that, NOT HIM. >> OH, REALLY? >> YEP. >> OH, REALLY? >> YEP. OH, REALLY? >> And here's the deal. >> You have three. >> And here's the deal. >> Three shot support. >> Three shot supports. Okay. And then when I go to court, can I talk? >> And then when I go to court, you know what's going to happen, >> right? >> When I go to court, you know what's going to happen? >> They're going to dismiss the case because you >> Okay. >> You know why? >> Okay. >> So, here we go. >> Okay. I'm going to give you I'm going to give you the opportunity to perform some roadside exercises to dispel my suspicions that you were under the influence. Would you like to perform those exercises? Yes or no? >> Oh, yes, of course. >> You would like to perform them? >> Oh, yes, of course. >> Okay. When in handcuffs, you are not making any decisions right now. >> Okay. Take me to jail. And let's see what >> are you going to perform the exercises? >> Uh, let's see what's going to happen. You're going to go your side. >> This is the last time I'm going to ask you. >> Okay. How many cups? >> This is the last time. This is the last time I'm going to ask you. Are you going to perform the exercises? >> Okay, let's see. We'll see if >> Are you going to perform the exercises? >> Nope. Okay, you're going to jail. >> Oh, okay. >> In Florida, refusing a breath or blood test means an automatic license suspension of 12 to 18 months, no matter how the case turns out later. She thought she was negotiating with justice, but every refusal only closed her legal options faster. >> Get in the car. I took the stuff out of her pocket, but I didn't do a full Okay, you're falling. Please sit in the car. >> Oh, yes, I'm falling. >> Get in the car. >> I'm falling. >> Step in the car now. In the car. >> You put your legs in the car, you're going to catch a resisting charge right now. >> Get in the car. >> Okay. >> Stay in the car. We'll pick you up. Got it. >> I already tried that. That was the first time I tried that. >> Okay. sit down. >> 169. >> You can uh you can smell it too. And >> Oh yeah, that's wine. Holy >> Yeah, that's wine >> in a water bottle. >> In the water bottle. >> Yeah, it's probably full piss. >> No, it's wine. >> No, it's wine. Did I touch it? Finger test. Keep going. Case. Yep. Piss. [laughter] >> Yeah. But we're going to get to the other car. >> We're going to put you We're going to put you in the easy easier car. >> English. >> You speak English. >> Why? >> I don't know. >> Come, come, come. >> Get Get into We're going to get to the other car. I'm a [ __ ] [ __ ] in my >> Yeah, he's a brother's a good-look guy. >> Many secret drinkers pour alcohol into water bottles to avoid suspicion. She did the same. One moment she was angry, the next she was flattering. It looked clever, but really she was just fooling herself, searching for an exit in a maze with no way out. >> Listen. No. No. No. I can talk. Listen. >> Watch your feet. Watch your feet. The car. >> Why you touching me? Watch your feet. Watch your feet. What's the charge? >> Get in real quick. Get in real quick. No, >> we have to go so you can get the No, >> there's no charge right now. No charge. >> No charge. So why I'm getting into >> Just to make sure you're okay. One, two, >> I'm not committing the crime. >> No, you're not committing a crime. >> But I don't have to go in the [ __ ] car. >> Yes, you do. >> What is the crime that I'M COMMITTING? >> WHY YOUR LEG? >> What's the crime that I'm committing? >> You kick him. You're going to catch a felony battery charge. >> Yeah. Don't kick a cop. >> I'm not kicking him. >> Turn around. We don't want you to turn her. You >> Okay, listen. >> Turn on her stomach. >> Okay. Listen. Listen. >> All right. >> I'm not legal. You guys checked my car, which we was illegal. You guys taking me to jail, which is illegal. Everything you guys doing is illegal. I asked you for your B number. You didn't give it to me, which is illegal. So, you know what? So, laugh about that [ __ ] Go, go, go, go, go, go, baby. >> In the end, she was arrested and taken to jail on charges of DUI and non-violent resistance to law enforcement. With her refusal to test, and lack [music] of cooperation, she now faces heavy fines, long-term license suspension, and mandatory behavior reform classes. She may know her rights, but she clearly forgot her responsibility to every other life on the road. The mistake at that intersection wasn't the end. A DUI prophet had already spoken, warning of the outcome to come. On April 6th, 2024, what should have been a routine traffic accident quickly turned into a strange rambling monologue. When faced with legal reality, the woman didn't choose remorse. She chose denial built on distorted beliefs. And this is what followed. >> Let's get our cup back rating. I rated and everything. Oh, >> get our cuffs. Put her cuffs in the back. >> Let me um >> We know it, sir. You feel it? >> You don't want to stay with her for I don't want her cuffs in the back though. I don't trust her in the front like that when she's ma'am. Step out. >> Step out. >> Ma'am, come here. Come out. Step out. Just come here. >> Step out. Turn around. >> Turn around. >> Apart. I would never hurt you apart. Relax. I love you. >> Yes, ma'am. Relax. Grab that stuff. I'm not going to keep telling you. You're going to get resisting charges is what you're going to get. >> I'm trying to be nice to you. You need to put your feet in the car. >> They lied in the car. >> Put your feet in the car. >> Bless you, sir. >> Bless you, sir. They lied. >> Put your feet in the car. >> It's a conspiracy. >> Put your feet inside of the car. I came from South Daytona and I followed this lady the whole time cuz I work right here. She was going 80 miles hour down Nova and like riding the dot the dash line pushing all the cars off the road. >> Do you mind hanging on the witness statement? >> Yeah, that's why I walked over here. >> I appreciate it. >> If I walk away, I work right there hardcore. I might have to stop really quick, but there was a white crown. It was an older man. We had stopped and talked at the light light down there at least because she was she almost pushed him off the road like three times. >> And what car were you in? >> My car's parked over here. >> According to witnesses, she had been driving recklessly, nearly hitting multiple vehicles and forcing others out of their lanes. But she constructed a fake safe zone in her mind to erase the consequences. When officers refused to accept that story, her wounded ego surfaced immediately. >> Cut off every single car and then went all the way back to the far left lane. It was like >> okay >> riding the line pushing all of the cars out of the road. >> Did she hit any cars other than >> I think these are the only ones that she actually hit. All the other cars she was like pushing like she would get really close to them and they would move away from her. They would pull over on the side of the road and let her real quick. All right. Before you before you step out, I just want to let you know. All right. So, Officer De over here, he's doing the uh the crash portion of this whole thing. Okay. So, he's doing his crash investigation, which is pretty much already concluded at this point. Okay. Right now, what I'm going to do, I'm officer A. I'm going to do a DUI investigation because I feel like you're under the influence of either drugs or >> I don't care if they break. Let me let me talk. >> I don't care. >> Okay. >> Yeah. I'm going to hell. >> Okay. Well, >> all you are going to hell. >> Okay. All right. So in any event uh I do want to let I want to let you know listen >> they all bra check me matter because when it comes to bike week because of bike week all you do nothing but help them go from >> they may have break that's fine I wasn't I wasn't there for that >> but I'm giving you the opportunity you have the decide to answer any questions >> you can shut the >> All right we're done >> get your feet Drag her from the other side. Yeah. >> Now you got a resisting charge, ma'am. >> Y just stay back. >> You're a pancy. >> Okay. >> Instead of staying quiet to protect her legal rights, she turned embarrassment into moral outrage. She cast herself as the judge, trying to talk down to the officers as a way to avoid facing her own mistakes. >> You all knew it. And now you all get to go to hell sooner or later. >> All right. Refuse. You can take that. >> Just go based on what we already observed. >> Yep. >> And just do it as a refusal. Works for me. >> Yeah. I'm going to put in my car now. camera. She's like 20 lbs. Not too worried about her. She just get a little feisty. >> Yeah. Appreciate it. I have to take her to Halifax after this for she's drawing. So, I just need you to slide this way for me and I'm we're going to go to this car over here. >> Yep. Come on over. >> Sir, they afraid to have >> I know you told me. I understand. >> Wait. Uh, you're still drunk, so we we got to got to come. >> I'm not, sir. >> Listen, I'm not here to argue with you. You can argue in court, but I need to take you in my car. >> But they break me, sir. >> Okay. Do you want to catch more resisting charges or you want to cooperate with me? I'm trying to be nice to you, but I'm at some point I'm going to stop being nice. I need you to come out of the car so I >> want you to be nice and understand what's going on in this world. Are you going to It's Revelations 18, sir. >> I need you to come out this way. >> It's Revelations 18, sir. >> Okay. >> Oh, I'm a little girl. All right. Grab um De if you want to or somebody go on the other side and just >> Can you let me stand up and get in the car the way I'm supposed to? >> Yeah. Make sure she's upright. Whatever. >> Sir, I'm sorry. >> Relax. >> You want to try this again? You want to get up and sit down? >> Let's try it again. Let's try it again. >> I love you all. >> Okay, let's try. >> I love all and you are the one who's shut the [ __ ] Shut the shut it up. Shut the female [ __ ] cuz you're less [ __ ] any male woman. You can shut the >> She couldn't accept that another woman had authority over her. So she clung to a the world is falling apart fantasy to escape present responsibility. In that mindset, if everything is collapsing, then handcuffs don't matter anymore. A logic born of desperation. >> What's up? >> Hey, so she's not like fighting fighting, but she's resisting and she's very highly intoxicated. I'm just here to get her medically cleared for the jail, but she's not going to really cooperate, but she's also not going to like fight or anything like that. So, >> uh, she was on this side. I don't know if she like scooted over or not. Oh, her name's Connie. Hey, Connie. >> Nope. >> We got all these gentlemen over here. Just >> shut up. Don't ever talk to me. >> Y'all done? Y'all got 6 months in Americ 6 months. >> You're going to sit in the chair or they going to strap you to a chair? Listen, I don't think you understand. They're not going to be >> I know how to walk. [ __ ] you. You got six months in Florida. >> They're not going to be as nice to you as we are. I don't [ __ ] give a [ __ ] >> You let me walk on the recharge. >> Get your legs up. >> You let me walk. >> You want to catch some more charges today? >> Let me walk. >> Stand up. You all are going to be punished for doing this to me again for the what? So, I don't know how much uh y'all have been briefed on this, but she was arrested for DUI for obvious reasons and uh for the jails of anything like that. this whole country if we're [ __ ] No, no, no. You're welcome. I hope you have I love our law. >> [ __ ] you. I hope you have children, [ __ ] >> Good. How old are your children? I can definitely charge you with it if you like. >> Trying to prove she was a good person, she attempted to buy moral support by bringing up minority groups, hoping to distract from behavior that nearly cost lives. But her arrogance didn't stop at the scene. It followed her straight into the holding cell. >> I would never tried to bite you, sir. >> I tried to kiss you to tell you it's the truth. >> I thought you me 2 and 12 hours. >> I thought you would count the rest of the ground, sir. >> Um, but what does she need? Just because the jail makes us every time anybody's listen they just make me say, "Hey, she's good to go to jail." >> My best friends are gay guys. >> Okay. >> They [ __ ] >> But it's not funny. >> Okay. >> Connie, how tall are you and what you weigh? >> I don't like no [ __ ] My best friends are gay guys. say 55 and like 135 lbs. >> See that car right there? We all got 6 months. >> You remember when I told you that you're going to be a lot less nice than I was? >> You just destroyed my life. You need to do what they tell you. >> I will not cooperate with them. You got 6 months and you don't run out of food cuz I am profit. You'll stop me and you lie about me. 6 months. You took away my license. >> In the end, she was arrested and charged with DUI and nonviolent obstruction of law enforcement. She was convicted and sentenced to 2 days in jail, 12 months of probation, 50 hours of community service, license suspension, mandatory DUI classes, and financial penalties. It sounded like meaningless rambling at first, but seconds later, she turned into a real storm. On June 14th, 2025 in Illinois, a minor speeding violation turned into a full-blown character test. The woman who first appeared polite quickly changed her tone once she was questioned. Cynthia believed her busy working woman image would cover her mistake. But once the evidence started talking, every calculation began to collapse. >> She was going 62 in a 45 at the entrance to KM Park off of County Line. Hi, I'm Officer Overton Burge Police Department. I pulled you over for two reasons. Back there where I did the U-turn behind you, I know you saw me. You were at 62 and a 45. So, you're 17 over the speed limit. Okay. >> Okay. Also, >> because it was my lights. >> No, no, no. It was because of your speed. Also, your uh license plates, so your registration is suspended. Do you have proof of insurance now? >> I don't. Do you have insurance at all? >> Um, they they just I just messed up the No, I don't. >> Okay. All right. Here. Hold on to your temporary permit here. Actually, hold on. Does it say anything different on there? >> Who's my mom? She pass the truck. >> Okay. All right. Hold on to that. Give me a couple minutes. Okay. You drink this morning? >> Just these. >> Oh, doodles. Non-alcoholic. What about the bottle that's behind your driver's seat? >> I have no idea. >> Okay, >> stay in the car, please. >> Is that Is that bottle open or closed behind you? I I have no idea. Um this I shared this car with my brother. >> Is it open or not? >> I have no idea at all. >> All right. So, it is open. >> It's open. >> It's open. All right. Here, close the door for me. Can you roll down this window? From the very first contact, she showed no real remorse for speeding. Instead, she was more worried about being late for work than about public safety. When officers spotted an open bottle behind the driver's seat, suspicions of impairment immediately grew. With you traveling uh you know 17 mph over the speed limit, all right, the odor alcohol coming from the vehicle and the open alcohol container. I'm going to have you step out of the vehicle, okay? Cuz I just want to talk to you a little bit. Make sure that you're not that you're good to drive basically. Anything to drink? Just be honest with me. >> In the morning, >> huh? >> In the morning. Just those that I told you. >> Like how long ago? >> I don't know. Like maybe 910 in the morning. >> Oh, so like yesterday morning. >> No, this morning. >> Well, it's What time is it now? Do you know? What time do you think? >> I have no idea. It's like 4:00 in the morning. So, yeah. No, it was just >> Yeah. I just don't want light bright lights in your eyes. Here, face me for me. Okay. All >> right. If you could, can you take off your glasses? Yeah. All right. >> Yeah, you can. Wherever need. So, what I need you to do is put your feet together and your hands down by your sides. Okay. What I'm going to do is I'm we're going to call this the stimulus. All right. I'm going to move it. He's just getting out of the way of the car. Um I'm going to move it in a series of motions. Okay. When I do, I want you to follow it with your eyes and your eyes only. Don't move your line. Okay. I want you to put your left foot on that line. You can just keep it where it's at. Put your right foot in front of that one just like I am. That's That's a problem. >> You can't do that. Could you put it close? >> I could put it like >> You can't get the heel any closer to the toe. >> No. I mean, the >> with my cane, but no, cuz the hips, too. >> I mean, I don't want to get you in any position where you're going to hurt yourself. >> Yeah. 100,00 1,002. No, >> it's okay. Keep going. 100,002 >> No. >> Can you count alone? >> No. >> No. >> We all know the body never lies as well as the mouth does. No matter how carefully she chose her words, she couldn't fool the reality closing in around her. When she failed the one-legg Stand test, her denial collapsed and the situation escalated fast. you are being honest and you haven't drank since we're recorded right now. If you're being honest and you haven't drank since yesterday morning, you should be triple zeros. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Mhm. >> Easy. You don't want to do it. >> Mm- >> Why not? >> Because I don't. >> Because you're lying and you've been drinking. >> No, I just don't want to do it. >> Just because my hips don't respond the way you guys want them to doesn't mean that I got to do that. >> Well, this is what I'm going to do, though. See, I'm not going to hook you up for DUI, but I'm taking your car. >> We're not going to get difficult right now. Okay. >> I got a pee. >> I really got to pee. Can I get my clothes out? It's the white bag. >> You're going to wait for 290. >> Ma'am, get over here right now with this officer. >> Don't touch me. >> You get over here right now. >> My car. You're pulling me. >> It's all right. Go ahead and just stop. >> All right, let me go. >> It's too late. >> All right, let me >> Karen wasn't really fighting the police. She was fighting the truth that she was no longer the center of everything. Even with a patient, fair-minded officer trying to help her, she kept sabotaging herself with impulsive, uncontrolled reactions. Cynthia, I need your honesty. Okay, >> I'm going to loosen this one up if you don't do any jerking motion. Okay, >> I don't know why you had to bring it to this level tonight. >> I'll wait a little bit. >> You were going to get your car towed. You were going to get a couple tickets and you were going to get on your way and that was it. >> We're recording. Do you have anything on you? I know you said you work for Amazon. I want to make sure you don't have any box cutters or anything like that. >> I don't pull my pants. He pulled them down. He's going to search. He Thank you. >> If you sit to your side a little bit, you won't be resting on your uh on your wrists. Okay. Is there anything you need out of your car? >> Wallet. >> Um my purse. >> Okay. So, there's clothes and stuff that you need out of the bath. >> You guys are taking the car now. >> What the [ __ ] was that about? >> Gloves up. You need any? >> What's up? >> Yeah, I got some on me. >> All non-alcoholic. Not that whatever that liquor was she had though. >> Yeah. >> I'm gonna just leave it there. >> Okay. You okay now? >> All right. >> The right plate. Yeah. >> What's that? >> We're good. >> Empty liquor bottles became the final witnesses, exposing every manipulation attempt from the start. From there, she slipped into either emotional shutdown or meaningless screaming. A small traffic violation, one that should have ended with a ticket turned into a criminal case because she chose confrontation over accountability. >> Yeah. So, we're going to have somebody else at the PD also. So, they're already they should already be there if you're going to head down there now. >> He's going to stick here and do everything with the car. So, I'll be heading there in a minute with her. >> Okay, sounds good. >> All right. Thank you. penis in >> pretty good little gouge on my wrist. >> Where's her phone at? >> Huh? >> I took her phone. >> Oh, did you? >> Make sure she didn't ditch anything over here when she took off. >> She didn't get to the front. She was trying to get us on the back of the car and then she got to only here. She got to over here and I grabbed her. >> Okay. >> I didn't see anything's up there. But yeah, both of the front head >> uh [snorts] I'm going to egg batter. >> Yeah. >> But just so you know, um what's it called? Holds insurance and then registration. >> Okay. >> It's a doodles. It's non-alcoholic, so I'm not worried about it. Yeah. >> What's up? >> There's a storage thing underneath the construction. [snorts] >> What's up? >> There's storage underneath here. >> You can see the drink there. >> Gross. >> There's nothing in that one. >> No. >> See, there's that red liquid. house. >> Was it empties? >> Margarita empties. >> It's all right. Just get on your body cam. >> Hey, can you shut her door? I'm going to go around instead of backing out. In the end, she was taken to jail and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, obstruction, and resisting law enforcement, along with serious violations for suspended registration, driving without insurance, and speeding. If convicted, she could face fines up to $10,000, probation of up to 24 months, and a license suspension of up to 1 year. From a person who changed in seconds to a gas station where everything finally came to a dead stop. On November 18th, 2023, police responded to a gas station in Eustace after a woman crashed her car into a steel pole. She introduced herself as a legal assistant, hoping that title would cover up the fact that her blood alcohol level was far beyond the legal limit. And here's what happened next. You >> want me to help you out? >> No. >> No. Okay. Can we get your ID? >> Yeah. Okay. >> You want me to look for it? >> Wait for me. >> Your identification. >> Okay. Appreciate it. >> Oh my god. Um, is there something that I think wrong? >> Yes, ma'am. You crashed into a pole. >> Oh, that's awesome. You want me to look for it? >> Sure. >> Oh, here's your ID. >> Yeah. >> Put this back in your purse. Okay. >> There you go. >> Yes, ma'am. >> You You sit tight. Okay. Don't Don't go nowhere. Hi. >> Hi. >> Where's your key fob? >> Do you guys find it? >> Um, I was hoping you could. Can you Can you find it for me? >> You can't find it, huh? >> You're in your car, ma'am. It'd be rude if I reached in. Can you find it for me? >> Don't Don't feel it. It's rude. >> Oh, okay. >> Go. Go in. >> Okay. Hi. Uh, are you are you hurt by any chance? Are you okay? >> I think I'm good. >> Okay, I got you. Okay. What's your name? >> Vivian. >> Miss Vivian. Okay. Hi, Miss Vivian. >> In Vivian's world, at that moment, mistakes were just minor inconveniences. Problems she expected someone else to clean up. When officers asked her to complete an accident report, she didn't cooperate normally. Instead, she tried to coach them on how to ride it, hoping to minimize trouble with her insurance. >> Your car is a little >> That's awesome. Mhm. And Okay, >> let me check out the damage real quick and then I'm going to go get with the store clerk. I'll be right back with you and we'll get this wrapped up. >> I am Don't go nowhere. >> You're a parillegal, ma'am. >> Sure am. >> All right. Who do you Who do you work with? >> Marl. >> Is that in Orlando? It didn't want to park. >> When parking >> Yeah. >> Hey, wait. Do me a favor. Just say 108 cuz I don't know what type of >> Since there's no damage to the pole. They said they don't they're not requesting a crash report. Do you want a crash report for insurance purposes or you just want to because it's a single vehicle, single occupant, call your insurance company, let them know that you bumped into a pole and there's minor damage. >> Listen, um my my my corporate We're going to go ahead and just uh do a um dangerous plane tomorrow. >> Okay. >> So, >> we're good. >> You don't need a formal crash report? >> No. >> All right. Well, the crash crash is concluded. So, Officer Rat is going to complete a DUI investigation. >> I want him to feel great about his existence. So, we're good. >> All right. >> Awesome. Thank you. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Very very >> Yes, ma'am. Going out of the car. >> Just let me know that I'm I'm okay. Can I go? >> Not Not yet. We're going to complete a DUI investigation. Okay. >> Miss Viv, can you can you step out of the car? Are you able to step out? >> Oh, yes. She asked to postpone everything until the next morning, believing Sunday would be easier to manage. It sounded smart, but it backfired. The more she tried to reshape the story in her favor, the more dishonest she appeared to law enforcement. >> Having these choice of mind, do you wish to answer questions? >> Do you wish to answer questions? 1054 on answer questions. >> Yeah, I have some questions for you. >> Sure. >> Okay. Where are you coming from today? >> What? >> Where are you coming from? >> My my sister's house. >> Okay. By chance. >> 37020. >> The street. What are you doing right now? >> I'm conducting, like she said, a DUI investigation. >> Okay. So, I am going from a common >> a common what? >> You're not really making sense to me. I'm I'm trying to figure it out. >> What is it? What city? >> Eustace. >> Okay. Um, when you were at your sister's house, did you have anything to drink there? >> No. >> Okay. Did you ever drink while you're driving? >> No. >> Okay. >> None. >> Is that bottle of liquor yours in the car? >> None. >> None. >> Are you willing to perform center field exercises? >> Yes, >> you are. already. >> Yeah, absolutely. >> When her claim of I haven't been drinking collided with a liquor bottle in the back seat, she chose to dodge the questions. Her lies became tangled and clumsy, just like her steps. And under the sobriety tests, the image of a professional woman quickly collapsed. >> Just stand like this on the side. >> I can't. I can't. >> I can't. >> Why not? But my attorney can >> my attorney my attorney will will will will justify. >> Okay. Are you able to stand like this? >> No. Can't. >> Why not? >> Can't. >> So, do you want to do standard fields for body exercises or no? >> I mean, I don't understand what's what's happening right now. >> So, I'm I'm going home now. >> One more time. Do you want to do >> I'm going home now. Whoa. Am I >> Is this happening right now? >> Yep. >> You are extremely impaired, man. >> Yes. >> 231. I'm trying to calm him down to get the information. It's going to be in reference to vehicles now being not. >> Am I totally impaired right now? >> You tell me. >> Well, no. I'm asking you. Am I impaired right now? I'm asking you. >> No, I am asking you, sir. >> We have a full X-ray machine. >> Ready? >> A full X-ray machine at the jail. >> We're getting ready to do it. >> Let's do it. >> Okay. >> I'm going to search you real quick. I don't want to be poked by any needles. You got anything hidden on you. >> Glad you think that's funny cuz I don't cuz I'm going to be mad if I get poked. >> 15 to 64. Are you clear from that signal for Come on, man. >> I I don't know. I don't want to. I just >> Listen, >> just want to make sure you don't have anything tucked in the uh waistband in here. >> I am. >> I'm good. >> Just confirming you don't have anything on you before you're transported. >> No, >> I don't want you to. >> No, no, no. You >> okay? Good. >> Yep. >> Yep. >> We're good. >> All right. >> He needs to be concerned. >> Let's walk over this way. >> Sure. Sure. >> You have someone you want to pick up your vehicle? >> Why? >> Because we can't leave it here. It's not secured. >> Well, why do I have to leave my car? >> Because you're not going to be with the car. You're going to Lake County Jail. It's very >> All right. He needs to be worried about it, not me. >> So, we're going to tow it. Okay. >> Yeah, fine. >> Okay. >> At this point, her stubbornness was no longer about protecting her rights. It was blind denial of reality. Viven swung from joking to hostile in seconds. Those sudden mood shifts reflected how out of control she was due to extreme intoxication. >> Hey, let's let's dance. No, no, no. Let's let's dance. Let's dance this way. >> Can't wait till my attorney just loves all you guys tomorrow. >> Thanks. Yeah, I don't >> put your feet in. >> Did you just let that go? >> Oh, >> sit in the car. >> Wow. Are you that hurt about it? Like, are you that hurt about it? >> I just locked myself in. This is great. >> Oh, you're so hurt about it. >> Can you sit in the car, please? >> There we go, Miss Biff. >> There we go. >> Yeah, I guess. >> There you go. I got >> feel like it wait. >> Okay, Miss Bab, can you uh I was to get this little thing right here. >> I can't. >> Okay, then let me get this black one right here. >> I know you guys I'm scared of me. >> I'm scared of you. You're a nice lady. >> You are scared of me. Okay. >> Just can you just get that off me, >> man? Rap. You got these on. >> Well, god damn it. >> Can you sit back, please? >> I can't. >> Yes, you can. >> No, not really. Oh, >> all right. Enjoy. Good night. Enjoy. Good night. Good night. Enjoy. I come for you. I will come for you. >> Got everything. >> Cool. We're out of here. >> All right. Um, >> hello. All right. Step on out. In the end, she was taken to jail and given breath tests that showed 0.33 and 0.31, nearly four times the legal limit and potentially life-threatening for many people. She was charged with DUI, pleaded guilty, and received penalties including up to $1,000 in fines, 12 months of probation, 25 hours of community service, and mandatory DUI classes. It sounded like meaningless rambling at first, but seconds later, she turned into a real storm. On December 1st, 2024 in Florida, police stopped a woman after she made an illegal U-turn just following her GPS. What they didn't expect was a driver who believed bad Constitution quotes could somehow cover up the smell of alcohol. >> Hey, Patricia. >> Hey. How you doing? >> Hey, I'm officer Ashan. You okay? >> Yeah, I'm fine. I was following my navigation. I missed a turn. It said make a U-turn. So, >> Oh, okay. Did you Were you able to find your insurance for my partner? >> Well, it's hard for me to see. I'm from California. >> No worries. I'll give you a light to help you out. >> So, is this the new This is That's >> Yeah, that's the registration. We're looking for the vehicle insurance. >> Um I have it in my phone. >> In your phone? >> Yes, I do. I have it in my phone. >> Which uh which uh >> it's AAA? >> Yes. >> Do you have like a mobile app or anything like that? >> Well, that's what I'm I I know I put it everything in my notes. So, I just don't know what it's under. So, I put in AAA. >> I got you. >> Oh, here's AAA card. >> Perfect. Let me see it. >> Wait, hold on. My trip Oh, here it is. Insurance documents. Can you can you zoom in on it? So it it it shows like your policy number and which vehicle it's assigned to and everything. >> I just don't know what it looks like here. Everything's covered. So >> no worries. >> Total sold auto insurance. There's a number Patricia. There's my premium. >> Yeah. No, but it doesn't show the the policy or anything like that. >> Let me look again. Let me just go back. I don't know where it's >> Okay. TripleA, Florida, 81623. >> Patricia, where are we coming from tonight? >> My sister-in-law's. >> Okay. She Is this it? >> Sorry. >> Does she live in the area? >> Yes, >> she does. Okay. And where are you heading to? >> I was going home. >> Okay. Where where do you live? >> I live in PJ. >> Oh, okay. What? PJ National? >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. The constant phone scrolling to find documents instead of handing over a physical copy is a familiar sign of alcohol slowed reaction time. Faced with the officer's questions, she stalls and fumbles, stretching out every second. And in that moment, the educated Karen persona starts to show right along with the cup that stole her judgment. >> Patient right now? >> No, I'm doing You're >> in treatment? >> No, I'm I'm doing treatment. I'm doing radiation therapy. >> You're doing radiation right now? >> Yes. >> Okay. What were you drinking in your cup right there? >> In my cup? >> Mhm. my cup. This is my Wormwood and Blackwood wallet. >> Do you Do you mind if I see it? >> Well, no. That I understand that's a unreasonable search and seizure. >> That's an unreasonable. >> There's nothing in my cup. It's empty. There's nothing in there. >> I can I can literally hear something rolling around in there. I just want to see what liquid you have in there. You're not >> There's no liquid in it. There's nothing in there but ice. I have warm wood and black walnut oil. >> Okay. >> So, >> all right. Do Do you take any chemical control substances, narcotics, anything like that? No. >> That might impair you. No. Do you take any medications? >> I'm not I'm not I'm not impaired. I was following my navigation. I'm new to Florida. I just came from California. >> Okay. Do you take any >> It said make a U-turn. >> I understand. All right. But you still need to follow the law and road signs and everything. >> Of course. If you >> Do you Do you take any uh medications you shouldn't be taking while operating heavy machinery? >> No, not at all. >> Okay. Can I see your eyes, please? Can you take your glasses off for me? >> I haven't had anything to drink. I'm if you would like me to get this for you, I could do it, but I don't definitely not appreciate you flashing the lights in my eyes. >> I'm not flashing. I'm trying to look at your turn doing what my navigation said. >> Okay, >> that's all I did. So, >> do you have your license in there? >> All right. >> You can try to talk your way around the smell of booze, but you can't talk your way out of dilated eyes. Once she starts tossing around legal terms, the conversation tightens up fast. She shifts into full super Karen mode, using the Constitution like a prop to project imaginary authority. >> I do have a picture of my Florida license. >> You don't have your actual license on you, ma'am. That's what I'm saying. >> Well, >> can I see Can Let me see your license, ma'am. The picture that you have. >> I have I have my Florida one. It will come up. I just don't know what it's saved exactly under. So, I'm typing in driver's license. This is my California license. I will find you my Florida one. Stand like 3 ft away. I can still smell it. >> California. >> Just to be safe, you know. >> I'm sorry. What' you say? >> Just to be safe in see if you can give me her license first. Hm. >> Jeez, you can give me the license first. >> I already ran. >> Oh, you did? >> Yeah. >> Oh, okay. >> I got off the tide. >> All right, Patricia, listen. Hey, you can time out with that. Listen, I'm a little concerned that you might be driving while while impaired. All right. You're telling me you're not drinking. All right. But what I'm smelling and seeing is a little different. So, make sure that's not the case. All right? So, I want you just do a few stand exercises for me just to make sure that's not the case. You're not impaired. >> That's a violation of my first amendment. >> It's not a violation of your first amendment at all. Make you understand the constitution. Okay. Absolutely. So, here's So, here's what's going to happen. Time out. All right. Because right now you refusing to do the exercises, right? >> You don't have a reasonable articulation that I've committed any kind of crime U-turn. Wait a second. Do you have your camera on? >> It's absolutely recording. Everything is happening. >> I made a U-turn based on my camera in my car that said make a U-turn. >> Okay. >> I missed a turn. Time out. Listen. I'm going to advise you right now what's called your Taylor warnings. You need to listen because there's three parts. Number one, by you refusing to comply with the exercise that I'm requesting that you do, you're not going to be able to dispel my concern that you're operating motor vehicle tonight while I'm paired by an alcoholic beverage and or chemical under control substance. Number two, you're going to force me to make an arrest based on the totality of the circumstances. Do you understand what that means? >> Last time I was married to a police officer, so I understand. And number three, your refusal may be used against you in court. All right. >> It may be used against me in court, but you guys have a right because I made >> Keep that warning in mind. Will you do these exercises to dispel my concern? >> No, because I know exactly what you guys do when you pull somewhere out of your car. unless you get a warrant. >> She talks non-stop, argues without breathing, convinced her words can reverse her outcome. But the law doesn't run on feelings. The moment she refuses testing, the pieces at the scene start clicking into place automatically. And under those red and blue lights, her idea of winning is nothing but an illusion. >> In my car, >> why are you reaching in my car? >> Cuz you're under arrest right now. Step by >> for what? You're Wait, I'm watching you. You're violating my fourth amendment and my first amendment, right? violated my freaking secret. >> Wait, >> hold on. Hold on. I'm not resisting. I'm >> Excuse me. My purse. >> Hold on. My foot's stuck in the seat, >> you guys. My foot stuck in Oh my god. You're breaking my ankle. >> Oh my gosh, you guys. My foot. You can see my heel stuck under the seat. >> Take your foot out of there. Take your foot out. >> God, you guys out. >> I can't take mine. >> Drop your phone. >> First right now. >> Now you just broke my first pipe. Take your foot out of there, man. Put your foot down. Turn your body. >> My heel is stuck in there. >> There you go. >> Okay. Step out. Put your hands behind your back. >> For what? >> You're under. >> For what? >> For what? What are you >> turning? Is your camera on it? >> Yes. It >> was easy. You didn't have to do all that. >> Can you hold on you guys? Could you grab my purse from the ground, please? >> Hold on. Hold on. You know, >> hand me my phone back cuz I have the right to record what is happening. I don't have time. >> We're We're recording here, right? >> We're recording everything that's going on. >> Please grab my purse. >> Yeah, we're going to pick it up. Hold on. >> Thank you. >> You guys, this is ridiculous. >> All we did was comply. >> What? Comply? >> Absolutely. >> Well, first of all, I have the right to be safe and secure on my paper. >> And everybody else on the road here has a right to be safe and secure from a pair of drivers. >> My Alexa has made a U-turn. I'm ready. He's coming. You guys are watching. This is insanity. >> And the fact that you guys Is there a camera on? >> Yes, ma'am. >> I want to talk to your camera and your phone. >> You You >> You guys refused to allow me to record this transaction. >> No, we didn't. >> Yes, you did. You refused. You pulled my phone out of my hand. You did not allow me. >> You can't You can't just pull out your phone and say, "I'm recording once you're under arrest." It's not >> No, I wasn't. I was in my own vehicle. I was not under arrest. In the end, she's arrested and faces charges for DUI and non-violent resisting arrest. [music] If convicted, she could be looking at fines up to $2,500, up to 6 months of probation, and a license suspension of up to one year. Her ego may be huge, but the road of justice is very narrow. On June 9th, 2024, cops pulled Amanda over for speeding 62 mph in a 40 zone. At first, it looked like just another ticket, but her erratic driving and clear signs of impairment [music] quickly turned this stop into something way more serious. >> Hi. >> Hello. >> Who's the reason for circling around like that? >> I'm I'm not from St. Pete. I am from Tampa. >> Where are you at right now? >> I am in St. Pete. Are you? I'm trying to get back to Tampa. So, I >> Are you sure you're in St. Pete? You want to try that again? >> I'm absolutely in St. Pete. >> Really? >> Yeah. >> No, you're in Clear Water right now. >> 5 to 10. >> I was at a bar. Well, no. I was at my friend's house. >> 95 videos available. >> I can give you her address. >> Okay. Do you have glasses on you now? >> I do. >> And then where did you say you were coming from? >> I'm coming from my friend Laura's. >> Okay. Where is she live at? >> She lives in St. Pete. >> Okay. How did you get here in Clear Water? >> Um I drove >> Yeah, that's true. But St. Pete is nowhere near here. >> No. >> So, how did you get here? >> So, I drove >> Uh-huh. >> to my friend >> Tampa, right? >> Yes. >> All right. So, the route you took back to Tampa is the route you should have taken is the exact opposite of what you're doing, right? You should have taken literally 275 or Skyway or something. >> I don't know. I literally am like I'm driving from my friend Lorna's to my house. I don't know the route. >> All right. So, the other reason why I have you stopped because we were speeding. >> All right. I got you at 62 and I'm supposed to 40 on Port Street. >> That's interesting. I'm not a speeder. Okay. >> Okay. So, what do you need from me? My >> Is this Does this vehicle belong to you? Register and everything. Is is the car registered to you? >> It is. Absolutely. >> Got you. Right now, I look at your car. Like, it's kind of a problem, right? That's not how traffic stops are supposed to go. >> Yeah, you're absolutely right. I definitely have it. I'm so sorry. >> You're having a hard time finding it? >> What's that? >> I have no hard time finding it. >> No, I absolutely have it. I'm so sorry. >> Where do you usually keep your license? >> I have my license in my >> wallet. You norally you normally keep in your wallet. >> I normally keep my ID in my wallet. >> Where's your wallet at? It is. I I saw it in my pocket. Hold on. Let me see. It might actually be in my >> Well, what's your first last name? >> My name is Amanda. >> Amanda, what's your last name? Amanda Mendes. >> A R I. >> Officers spotted the red flags right away. A driver losing control trying to hide something. The more she tried to look fine, the faker it seemed. And when the turning point came, the order to step out of the car, the truth couldn't stay buried anymore. >> Yeah. Yeah. You can turn your car off for me if you don't mind. You mind coming out for me? You mind just let's step over here? Yes. >> You have shoes you want to put on? >> I do. >> Yeah. Go put your shoes on if you if you want. >> I mean, do I need them? >> I'm just And that's up to you. I'm just trying to help you out. I don't know what I would rather you not walk barefoot on cement, but if you want to, that's up to you. >> I mean, all right. And man, can we have a a conversation about something real quick? Sure. >> So, there's a couple things that I'm worried about. Okay. Like I said, as far as the stop goes, I'm not super worried about it, but I got you for the speeding. Okay, you're going 62 unit close to 40. All right. Um, when I stopped you, instead of just stopping straight like a normal regular traffic stop, you decided to circle all the way around, right? And you can see like where my car is, where your car is. Like that's that's a problem, right? That's not how it's supposed to go. Okay. Are you experiencing any sort of medical issue right now? >> No. >> No. Do you feel okay? >> I mean, what are we talking about? >> I mean, like, do you feel sick or injured or anything like that? Are are you sick or injured right now? >> I mean, what are we talking about? I mean, just in general, do do you feel okay right now? >> No, I just feelick. Okay. Do you feel like sick nauseous? Like about to pass out? >> Not that I'm about to pass out. >> Okay. A little sick. >> Okay. Are you diagnosed with anything? >> No. >> You take medications or anything? >> No. >> No. Okay. No. >> How How are your eyes? Are you able to see? Okay. Any visual impairments of any kind? >> No. >> No. Okay. So, I'm also I'm also getting somewhat of an odor of alcohol coming from inside the car. Okay. I'm getting it off of your breath as well. All right. You said you're coming home from your friend's house in St. Pete, you live in Tampa, >> but somehow you got from St. Pete all the way to Clear Water, which is the exact opposite direction from where you should go, right? So, there's a couple of signs that are making me a little concerned about your driving. All right. So, I'm getting I'm very strong of alcohol through your breath. Your eyes are bloodshot, watery, your speech is a little slurred, and you're kind of stumbling out of the car. Okay. Okay. >> So, my job is just to make sure that you're safe to drive. >> This was the breaking moment. The smell of alcohol was undeniable. Amanda tried the legal escape hatch, asking for a lawyer. refusing sobriety tests, but silence can't cover up the truth. Seconds later, an arrest was inevitable. >> Okay. >> All right. So, how we like to do that is I was going to check your eyes. Would you be okay with that? >> Um, can I call a lawyer right now? >> I mean, you're not under arrest or anything like that. So, I'm just asking if I can check your eyes. >> Do I need a lawyer? >> I can't advise you what what you need or don't need. >> Do I need to call a lawyer? >> That's up to you. >> Okay. I'm going to call a lawyer. >> Okay. Well, right now I'm asking you if if is it if it's okay if I can check your eyes. >> Okay, that's fine. So, right now you can be placed under arrest for DUI. >> Oh. Oh. Oh. Okay. Because I want to call a lawyer. You're >> I gave you I gave you ample opportunities to work with me. Okay. I gave you my >> No. No. You literally expressed my desire to have a lawyer in your >> Yes. And you could do that. >> Okay. >> However, I I know I've notated my observations of you of my my concerns and the odor of alcohol coming off your breath and you speeding and you stopping the way you did and you slurring your speech and you stumbling out of the car. Right. that gives me reason to believe that might be something wrong. >> So, the reason why I was asking to look at to evaluate you is to make sure that you were safe to drive. Okay. I was looking I was going to ask to look at your eyes real quick, maybe have you do a couple of exercises, and if everything was good, then you'd be free to go. >> All right. So, that's why I was asking you that. >> From now until the time I take you to our station, if you change your mind, we can do You didn't I mean I I I did not understand the amount of time between when you were Okay. Like I'm sorry. I did not evaluate the time between being under arrest and just I'm sorry. I'm just I'm very confused about the process. If you could please explain it to me. >> Okay. Well, >> before >> I tried explaining it to you and you didn't you didn't want to cooperate. I did though. >> I'm sorry. How did I not cooperate? Well, cuz I asked you if I could evaluate you, check your eyes, >> and you said you wanted that. No, you did not. You said I did not. >> You did not. You said, "Can I have my lawyer?" I said, "I can't advise you what you can do." >> I'm sorry. Because I asked for a lawyer, >> right? But you're not under arrest. So, I didn't I didn't read your rights. You're not under arrest. At least at the time, you weren't. Right. >> So, right now, I'm not under arrest. >> As of right now, you are under arrest. Yes. >> So, as of right now, I'm under arrest. >> You're under arrest. And I would like a lawyer. >> Okay, that's fine. Yeah, let's go and walk to my car. We're going this way. >> This wasn't just arguing. It was a strategy. She used circular logic to blur the process, hoping to twist confusion into legal leverage. But the more she pushed, the more obvious it became. Her defiance wasn't instinct. It was calculated. >> No, that's Yeah. So, as of right now, you're being placed under arrest driving under the influence. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, just to make sure we're on the same page, my observations of you was um well, the reason why you stop is for the speeding, right? The 62 and the 40. All right. You'll be receiving a citation for that. >> You observed me going 62 in a 40. >> Yes. That was the reason for the stop. All right. Um when I stop when I had you stopped, you pulled into this parking lot, which is fine, >> right? >> But for some reason, you decided to do a U-turn, which is unusual, but okay. I mean, um now once I got up to >> Why is First of all, why is that unusual? >> Because that's not something that people do, right? When you stop somewhere, you you usually stop straight forward. You don't turn around. >> You stop and >> Yes. Like you pull in and I pull in behind you. That's how it's usually supposed to go, but that's that's fine. >> Let's just do Yeah, let's play your game. >> So, and when I got up to the car, I detected a very strong odor of alcohol coming from inside the car. Okay. You're the only person driving it. All right. This is your vehicle. It's registered to you. You're responsible for it. You're active physical. >> I understand that whole part. >> Okay. So, got the order of alcohol and while you're speaking, I'm detecting some slur speech. I can hear it. All right. Your words are kind of drawn out a little bit. All right. um you had a very difficult time trying to locate your your license and no fun pull me through your bag. You just you just >> had some difficulty with that. >> Okay. Well, that's part of, you know, just it's in my bag. Okay. >> Okay, that's fine. And when when I had you step out, you kind of stumbled a little bit. You had a hard time maintaining your balance. >> Mhm. >> All right. And when I had you walk that way, like behind your car, you were kind of swaying from side to side. All these observations are are consistent with alcohol and par. >> Okay. especially the odor of it, right? >> Mhm. >> So, and I asked you if you had anything to drink. You said no. However, I disagree. Okay. >> So, um at this point in time, I'm just going to ask if you'd be willing to provide a sample of your breath for the purposes of determining its alcohol content. >> What if I do not? >> Well, it's a simple yes or no. >> What happens if I do not? >> And then I'll I will read you something. I'll explain a couple things to you, then we'll go from there. >> I would like an explanation of exactly what happens if I do not provide that. Faced with evidence she couldn't shake, Amanda knew the game was over. Yet instead of owning up, she bargained with time, asking about consequences, stalling, still refusing the test. A woman caught in her own trap, clinging to scraps of control. >> Refuse to take the test I requested of you. I requested is admissible in the evidence in any criminal proceeding. Do you understand everything that I just read to you? >> No. Repeat it, please. >> Okay, ma'am. We're not going to keep playing this game. >> I can't I Please repeat it. >> What questions do you have? >> I don't understand what you just read to me. Please repeat it. >> I'm not going to keep repeating this to you. >> Well, if you're not going to repeat my rights to me as I have requested that twice twice. Okay. If you refuse, it's going to be suspended per year. If you've already refused in the pre in the past, >> I haven't refused. I'm requesting another. >> I'm requesting that you repeat. >> So, you already did refuse. >> And the second time he read it, you haven't. >> I don't understand. >> I don't understand. I don't understand. >> I don't understand. >> Okay. Well, I've read it to you twice. So I can try to break it down for you. >> I don't understand. So, either get up on your own or we're going to force you up. So, all right. That's fine. We'll hang out here. >> Have authority. That's so >> Don't touch me with your foot. It's cool. You can assert your >> So, now here's what we're going to do now. Now, we're going to yank you up. >> So, we're going to assist you up now since you since you want to play the six-year-old game. Okay. All right. Ready? >> I got to transport myself. >> In the end, Amanda was hauled off to jail, facing charges of DUI, resisting officers, refusing breathalyzer tests, and violating her BO license restriction. If convicted, penalties could include a one-year license suspension, heavy fines, mandatory probation, and even jail time for DUI and resisting. On November 3rd, 2022, a 911 call from a mother in the middle of a messy divorce pulled cops straight to the scene. [music] At first, it sounded simple. Take away the weapon, maybe kick the husband out, but things spiraled quickly when she started acting out, creating chaos and showing she wasn't fit to drive. >> What's going on? You know what's going on. >> What's going on? >> I don't Well, I came to the fire department. Get away, >> Mitch. That's not how it works. >> Yeah, it does. >> That's not how it works. >> Because you denied to protect and serve us. We're leaving the house. I'm his mother. You didn't want to remove the guns or my husband. Get away from me. I asked for a woman. He abused women in there. >> He's He's here to help. >> No, he's not. He could have helped earlier. I had a panic attack, Mitchell. >> Okay. >> I'm a veteran, too. Get away from me. I do not consent your help. I have the right. >> Well, right now, right now you're causing a disturbance. >> I came here for help. Now, >> right now you're causing a disturbance. >> I called [ __ ] 911. You're going to arrest me? Arrest me for calling 911, Mitchell. I already told you I'm suing your department. Mitcho, let's play. I'm not an idiot. I've been in healthc care field for 20 years. I've worked. >> Would you like to go to the hospital by ambulance right now? >> No. >> Your only options are going to the hospital. It's either you're going to go to the hospital with them or you going to get in your vehicle and leave. >> No, I need to calm down. I'm not driving like this. >> I have a break there. >> Talking to this video. >> Let's go. Come on. >> Pick up that cigarette. Pick up the cigarette >> for littering. >> I don't care. >> All right. Sit right there. Don't leave. >> No, I'm not listening to you. I asked for a woman. >> Pick up the cigarette. >> Shame on you. >> I copy. off. >> I DO NOT TOUCH these people. THIS MOTHERUCKER WAS IN >> either get in the vehicle and leave >> off. Mitchell, I want your number. My lawyer will contact you. Do you think I'm going to remember your 135, Mitchell? >> Hey, you remember my name, don't you? >> Yeah. He wouldn't even take a book about PTSD. >> Take me to the hospital. >> No, I have a 8-year-old child. I know, but >> exactly. Right now, you're not in no condition to drive. Ma'am, don't leave. >> When emotions spin out of control, Reason takes a backseat to anger and defiance. The mom insisted she couldn't drive, yet refused to leave with her son still in the car. At that point, officers had no choice but to step in fast to protect the child. >> In front of my child, >> this mother would rather protect a man than a woman and a child. >> No. But think about your women. >> Hey, she's very I rate. She's trying to get in her vehicle and leave. Um I told her not to leave. So if you just want to just expedite till we figure out what's going on. >> I asked for help. They brought Mitchell. >> You told me hospital or >> just hold on. Hey, hold on. Hold on. >> I don't want this mother. You better get triggering. >> We'll take care of that. >> No, you're not. Get the out of my sight. >> Mitch put it in park. >> Put it in park. >> You know, I not I deserve a different officer that gives a call. He's calling. >> I feel more bad for the kids. >> Yeah. Pickle, huh? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> We have a 9-year-old in the car. Is it all right if I have 48 come over here? She wants nothing to do with the male. So far, understood. Try it. >> Is there some way that we can maybe get the kid to the dad? Well, she's not going to let the kid come with us. No, I know. >> I'm going to go try to talk to the kid. If I go and talk to the kid and she freaks out. I mean, we got to do what we got to do. We can't have >> drivein in this state all up and down and stuff. We got the kid inside. She refuses. She won't talk to me. She won't talk to any males. Big issue is is she's like this because I guess her and her husband are going through a divorce. >> Okay. Um, she either wants us to kick the husband out of the house or have us remove all his firearms, which >> this wasn't just back talk. It was a fight for control. Trying to drive in that condition turned her behavior into a safety threat. And when she flat out refused to step out of the car, police had no option left but to go hands-on. >> Yeah. Whatever we need to do to make her not drive. So, if I got to >> see if she can just at least turn the car off. >> I can't breathe. I got to think. So, how how can we help you? >> By not the baker's act. And they refused to remove the guns. I just wanted the guns out of I don't >> You need to get an expert order for that. We >> I know I'm telling you what you need to do. >> Get away. WATCH OUT. >> I'M GOING TASE YOU. GET OUT. >> TAKE THE DEPLOYMENT. >> GET OUT OF THE CAR. >> GET OUT OF THE CAR. I HEARD IT. >> GET OUT OF THE CAR. >> OH, STOP CHASING ME. I cannot defend. >> Get out of the car. >> No, I will. Just give me a minute. I can't move. I CAN'T MOVE. I'M HAVING A SEIZURE. >> I'M HAVING A SEIZURE. >> I can't. >> You have two choices. >> You get out. >> I just took >> or I'm going to take you out and it's not going to feel good. >> Get out now. >> I can't. I'm having a panic attack. You just tased me twice. >> Okay, so get out or I'm going to >> This is why veterans commit. >> You treat us as criminals. Just give me a minute, sir. >> I just don't pull so hard. I'm not pulling. >> It's my legs are Listen to me. >> Seizures you can't control. My legs are coming down. I'm sorry. >> Absolutely. I don't care. BREAK MY NO. NO. PLEASE. GET paid again. >> Freaking close. >> I'm not a criminal. >> You mother. I'm a veteran. Piece of [ __ ] You're lucky. Once physically restrained, she switched to verbal attacks, trying to humiliate the officers. Pulling the veteran and PTSD card became her shield. Her last ditch effort to avoid being seen as a criminal. But her relentless defiance showed force wasn't just justified. It was the only way forward. >> You got to give me a second. I'm having another seizure. I'm having a seizure. >> You I deserve medical care. I want a doctor. Please help me. I deserve medical care. I can't. Please give me a go. >> You just want to pat her down this. >> Okay. I I can stand up if you hold my legs like that. Ow. Ow. There's something in my legs. >> That's probably a taser prong. >> Yeah. Little Mitchell. Tas me again. You're lucky I don't have my combat veteran stuff on me. Hope you got big balls picking on veteran women that have PTSD. Glad you protect and served my child and me. You should have read that PTSD book that [clears throat] you let sit on the ground in my >> You want to take her down there? >> Will you please take care of Jesse? He can't go with my husband. Victoria is his child protective service. Please protect my child. >> I don't know if uh the taser prongs are still in or not. >> Yes, it is. It's in my hip. >> What's going on with this? Can I grab my >> If you guys make me have a stroke, I'm going to pass out. Lift my >> Can you just take this out? Taser porn out. I I don't even know if it's in her clothes or her. >> It hurt. >> Oh, you need to stop moving. >> God, let me have another seizure. Okay. >> All right. Go ahead. Take your time. Off. >> Let me know when you're ready. A veteran. I >> don't give a [ __ ] >> Yeah, you don't. You arrested a veteran that has a PTSD and seizures. >> Do you want that off or you want to give >> touch me? I don't give you consent, >> little [ __ ] I don't want to hurt you better. >> Well, you're going in my freaking car, so I have to touch you. >> Oh, you need to learn lift some weights with Mitchell. You got bigger muscles than Mitchell, though. That little needs to get a pair. You can take the hoodie off. I just brought it because I was running away from my abusive husband that apparently has more rights than me. >> Anything else? Well, I want my phone so I can contact my lawyer. >> You got it. >> Wait, don't you have to give me the Miranda rights? >> I'm being arrested. Sit down. >> Nope. I want to know why I'm going in a police car. Am I being arrested or Baker's act? >> Sit down or we're going to make you sit down. >> Nope. Tell me why I'm being arrested. >> This was the tragedy of contradiction. A woman lashing out at the very system she also leaned on for protection. Her final refusal, refusing to step into the squad car was nothing but a desperate reaction before reality finally slammed into place. >> Give me my rights >> real quick. >> I am not an idiot. I'm a mandated reporter. >> Best TV. Okay. You need to sit in the car. We're going to pull you in the car. >> No. I want to know why I'm going into a police car before I go. >> Because you're resistant right now. >> You need my Miranda rights. >> You don't need Miranda. >> I have the right to remain silent. >> Sounds like you already know. >> No, I don't. That's all I know. >> She threw it towards Chanel. Chanel went in to grab her. I went to grab her. She started yanking away, pulling away, trying to hit the gas on the car, ending up tasing her multiple times. She tried to uh put it in drive or in reverse and tried to leave. Kept hitting the gas. So, we yanked her out. Got it down the ground. Now we have battery. else also. She took the 48. What happened? I got to ask you. >> She threw her bag at the officer. They got into like a tiffle. >> Mhm. >> Like a shoving match thing. >> Who did? >> Uh it was the female officer and the driver. >> Where was the other lady? >> Sitting in the driver's side. >> And then that's when the other officers came on. I don't even know who. I moved and uh she got tased twice. I don't know if she's mentally ill or what she has on board. So, she came here with I guess your daughter. Is it your daughter or your son? >> My son. >> Yeah. How old is he? >> Eight. >> Okay. He's in there with the firefighters. I'll go grab him in a second. He's fine. Uh she comes here and she's in a full-blown mental breakdown. She's not fit. >> She's been doing this all and the last couple of months. This is why we're in the middle of a divorce. >> So, we deemed that she was unfit to care for herself, let alone operate a motor vehicle with the kidney. Right. I think that's a pretty safe bet. >> Thank Thank God. >> We go to bake racktor and she starts fighting us. So we hook her up. I think she got tased. We try to put her in a backup police car. She kicked an officer. She's on her way to the hospital or jail now. So she's going for a baker act. Resisting with violence without violence and battery on a law enforcement officer. Just trying to keep you up to date. Okay. What's your boy, right? >> Yeah. >> What's his name? >> Jess. >> Okay. >> Hey, the boy. >> Yeah, we're getting him. Just went out. He's in the handicap spot right now. If he wants to just pull it down to one of those spots. >> Okay. >> Where's mom? >> Get mom to the doctor. >> Did you finally finally bring a woman? >> Woman officer. >> In the end, she was hauled off to jail and hit with charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence and assault on an officer. On top of that, she was placed under the Baker Act. If convicted, the sentence could mean jail time, probation, and mandatory mental health treatment, depending on the court's ruling. On March 23rd, 2025, at the sheriff's office, a court designated [music] spot for custody exchanges, things were supposed to be routine. But when the mom and dad of three kids showed up, what should have been a simple handoff spiraled [music] fast, forcing deputies to step in. >> Message Forbes. You left them at the sheriff's office. >> I'm assuming he is the dad. >> Yeah. >> Okay. But so >> on poor order. He's not supposed to be near me. >> How is your How is your child custody swaps? How are they supposed to be >> How are they supposed to be handled? >> All right. Please. >> How is the child custody swap supposed to happen? >> Uh through here or a third party? Third party refused. So we had to come here and he was on his way. Right. But so why did you leave them without verifying that there was someone to care for them? >> Well, because I saw him. I didn't know that he was going to he was going to leave. So I guess he left and then when I got the call, I come back. It's not a big deal. >> It is a big deal. >> It is a big deal. Of course, you guys want to say, "Oh, I left them." Fine. >> The fact is is that >> time out. I'm going to cut you off. This is going to go one of two ways. You cannot call me. >> This is going to go one of two ways. You're going to go to jail right now and we're going to call DCF >> for what? >> Don't call my bluff. We'll take you to jail. You're going to go to jail right now and we'll call DCF. >> I'm here to tell you >> I'm here. >> Okay. But you've already done what you've done. We're not reversing that. >> But you're going to you're going to sit here and argue and tell us we're wrong for not watching. >> You're not wrong. >> We do not. >> You're so right. Please. Please. >> Where's your paperwork at? Let's see where this judge says the sheriff's office is going to watch. >> It doesn't say that. It doesn't say Oh. >> Oh. So now it doesn't say that. >> It doesn't say that you can't watch. We're not going to peace off. >> What's worse than a mother walking off without making sure her kids are safe? When confronted, she didn't own a single mistake. Instead, she dumped the blame on the father, on law enforcement, even on the circumstances. In her mind, she was never the one at fault. >> You're very you're very peaceful yourself. You know that? >> Because you called me shaming me. That >> here. Yes. >> Okay. But the father was right here. >> Why is that? So where's he at? Where's he at? Sarah doesn't matter. He was right. It does matter. That's what we're trying to tell. >> Call me and I COME CAME BACK SHOW UP, RIGHT? >> OKAY. Let's see where it says this. Okay. Hold on. Exchange of the minor children shall take place at the sheriff's office or through the third party >> at. >> He is not >> at >> What do you mean? at the sheriff's office like in the sheriff's office. >> That doesn't mean drop off and then you leave and the kids stay here when he pulled. >> Where were you at and the kids? Where were they? >> I was here until he pulled in. But he was >> He must have left. Who was >> Because I didn't I can't contact him. I'm not supposed to like Hey, >> I am amazed that you are not understanding what we're talking about. >> I do understand what you're talking about. >> You do not. >> Okay. So, you're calling me stupid. >> No, I'm saying you do not understand what we are telling you. That's what I'm telling you. What? Explain to me why we cannot leave. We cannot drop off. >> They're hungry >> and leave. >> Okay, the fine fine. I'm so sorry. Take me to jail. Like I to go feed them. >> Well, obviously we don't want to take you to jail, but my goodness. >> Okay, please so I can take them home and feed them, please. I'm begging you at this point. >> I need to verify that you are who you say you are. You got your driver's license. We're >> good on it. I'm doing. >> The court order got pulled out not just to prove where the exchange was supposed to happen, but to underline the requirement of a safe handoff. The mom couldn't back that up. Couldn't even reach the dad. In truth, she shoved all the responsibility onto him. >> Who sets the time for him to know when to be here? >> The judge. >> The judge. So, is it like a sign time for time swapping? her, hey, let him know that I'm coming here. And she told me, "Okay, he's on his way. I'm out here with the cops." The woman hoped and and the I don't know if it was a cop or not. I said, "Okay, when when I see him and she clarified, when you see him, you can go." So, I saw him. He came around here and then I left. And then I got a call and I came back. So what I'm So what I'm saying is like who who was the verified person as the caregiver for your kids before you left here? >> I just said Shelly. >> No, no, no, no. Tonight >> I'm sorry. What? >> Like before before you just left them here with us? Who was who was supposed to be their caregiver? Like did you ensure they were with the caregiver before you left >> that you that you can't just leave? You guys you guys can say that multiple times. It was a misunderstanding. That's all this was. >> That's I'm not understanding how it's a misunderstanding >> because she I handed her and she said you can go and then I left. So now you guys are calling me saying >> so she told you that you could go? >> Yeah. She obviously I wouldn't just like leave without her saying that. >> Her excuses grew desperate. She even made up a third party mixup twisting her neglect into some so-called bad directions. The cops weren't buying it. They tracked down the person she named, fact checked her story, and called out the lies on the spot. >> Oh, I'm so sorry. >> Hey, Claire, did you at any point tell her whenever you see him, you can go? >> No, I said you can wait in the parking lot until he has the kids and then >> Okay, so she is lying. >> Hey, can will you step out here with us? [music] That way we can ver She's saying things that aren't necessarily true and we just need to verify. Are you good? Do you mind for just a minute? I'm sorry. And did you at any point tell her to stop when she was leaving? >> No. >> And there she is. You can ask her herself. Yourself. >> Okay. >> Can I please? >> If she said you can go. She says that you said she could just seriously. >> That's what we were just verifying. She did not say that. No, I said, >> "Okay, so when I hand, why don't you just listen to me for a second?" I said, "When your kids, when your husband gets here, tell me he's here. You can listen to me. You can get in your car and you can wait at the other end of the parking lot." >> I'm sorry. I didn't hear that. >> And then you can both leave when he has the key. >> Okay. I'm sorry. I did not hear that. That's This is a misunderstanding. >> Listening. >> Okay, that's And they probably need a diaper snack. They've had snacks cuz we have >> care of them. >> Are you going to KEEP >> cuz you're going to jail while we were playing games. The court order said that if you hear me >> and I told you >> the court order says a third party, >> you wouldn't be violating >> probably DCF. >> No, at this point. >> Please don't do this. What do you want? WHAT DO YOU HAVE? WHAT do you have on me though? What is this about? >> I'm here. I'm back. I'm back. An hour later, >> after yelling at us, after yelling at us on After yelling at us on the phone that this is our That's why you're resting. >> Once every excuse collapsed, deputies cuffed her. And her reaction, not guilt, not even a hint of regret for the damage she caused her own kids. No, she panicked over her reputation, the inconvenience, her own discomfort. >> Are you arresting me cuz I yelled at you? I'm arresting you for leaving. >> Final final time we're going to tell you. Child what's for unattended misunderstand. >> I didn't hear you say that. I did not hear. What's your name and badge number? >> Deputy P19. >> What's your name and badge number? >> It'll be on your arrest report. >> No, I need to know now. >> It'll be on your arrest report. >> What's your name and match number, ma'am? >> Okay. >> Name and badge number, please. Is your policy? >> It is not. >> It is not. >> Yes, it is. >> I don't even have a badge number. >> Okay. What's your name? Deputy Alrech, which will be on your arrest report. >> Wow. >> Can I please call my mom? >> No. >> Okay. >> Oh, I was not when I obviously >> I thought you >> and now you're just doing this because I was sticking up for myself. >> Sit down in the car. >> Never been arrested in my life. >> Okay. >> I don't understand what she doesn't understand. I don't either. >> That's why I kept asking her. I said, "Who was in pair of the kids when you just left?" And she was like, >> "I'll deal. What do you mean? I'll deal with you." Unless you just want me to write it, which is fine. >> No. All right. >> Cuz I told I SIT OUT HERE AND TALKED to her. >> You told me that you told her she could go. >> No. I told her exactly what I just said. I said, "When he gets here, you can tell me that's his car and then you can wait in your car at the end of the parking lot and after he has the kids, you can both leave." >> You know what? I'm just I'm going to take her over there and then I'll be right back. >> In the end, she was hauled off to jail on three counts of child neglect without great bodily harm. Under Florida law, that's a thirdderee felony, carrying up to 5 years in prison per count, plus $5,000 fines and 5 years of probation.
