On January 11th, 2025, officers responded to an AT&T store for an employee theft investigation after an internal audit revealed that several electronic devices were missing from the store safe. >> The store manager's location >> took some phones out of inventory. This the store. >> Oh yeah. So the inventory we have um sometime either earlier this week or last week he took devices four of them. >> So okay what's your position? >> Okay. And the person that stole is the store manager. So he's above you. >> Yes. Correct. >> And then his manager our district he's telling me to do. So >> uh but store manager Andre took phones either earlier this week or last week him off. Um, we did an inventory count came up missing. So, district manager got involved. >> Find out. >> Andre, our store manager was trying to say that they were just missing that he doesn't know what happened. So, >> okay. >> He then pulled the other rep we have aside and admitted like, "Hey, I did this. I needed money. Don't tell anybody." >> Probably Andre. Yeah. >> Another rep. >> Who's Kyle? >> Okay. >> So, >> wasn't Kyle wasn't involved? Just >> No. Yeah. Yeah. So then Kyle told me everything. >> Yeah. >> I told the district manager. >> Um cuz I'm like it's looking like I did anything wrong, right? >> Um so then Andre, the store manager, pulled me aside yesterday. Was like, "Hey, I did >> here's the story. Let's stick to that shit." So >> I called the district manager said, "Hey, he just admitted to me." >> Yeah. >> I tried to do it out on the floor. So [clears throat] the audio and everything like that. >> So district manager showed up yesterday. Uh, allegedly Andre admitted to everything. >> Yeah. >> Admitted that I stole them. I took them. I needed money. yada yada yada. >> Um, the district manager, who is Jerry, >> um, last night and right now currently are trying to buy the phones back from a uh, the pawn shops, I guess, as we speak. >> So, he's with Andre right now, the district manager, Jerry, um, >> texted me and said, "Hey, call Coral Springs, file police report, get the ball started." So that's that's where we're at. >> Okay. Um you know which pawn shop it is? >> I don't not off top of my head, but I know there was two of them. >> They're they're there now. >> They're there now. Yeah. >> So I assume right now Andre's is is he terminated? >> So that I don't know. There's a uh yesterday after Jerry had left, Andre was like, "Oh, I think I dodged a bullet." >> There's a write up form on the table. It says like final warning for stealing, you know, company property. D >> Okay. Um, >> so but um the district manager, he wants a report for >> theft, >> I believe. So, yeah, here's the text he sent me. Um, >> okay. Do you have his information that I can talk to or >> he's with him right now, so he just uh I can I don't think he wants Andre knowing we're doing. >> The district manager later returned to the AT&T store with Andre after recovering the stolen devices from two pawn shops. Officers then began questioning the district manager about what had happened. All right. So, you guys want him arrested or? >> Yeah, the company. >> All right. And so, where you have the pawns, I guess the pond, the receipts, >> the receipts. I have it. I have in my car. >> Okay. He admitted to you that he's the one that found them. >> All right. >> Okay. Um, do you know if he was in the store when it was spawned? Did the punch? >> What you mean? like the other guy. >> I know the other guy the one the one the three that were pawn at the water the store at W. I know it was Paul and the other friend's name then >> but do you know if he was there when it was pawn or just was there but >> okay >> he was there they went together but friend used to come in and out of the store >> so we have footage of that and then they go in the back as well by the st >> like we have a office we have no camera in the office >> say again yeah >> we have no cameras in the office that is where they and your defense information. >> I have his name. >> In addition to this, there was a tablet. >> Yes, >> it's a new tablet or >> it was used, but um yeah, it's still new in the box. >> Okay. When when did he take that? >> It should be the same um day that he took the watch cuz he put it at the same time. >> Okay. So, on on this sheet, it says that these are the dates that they were received. receipt, >> but you don't know exactly, but just these are the days that receive. >> What what's happening is they take the the items and put it in the office and walk out. Put it in his go bag and walk out. So, we we don't have footage of that that movement. Yeah. >> Because the office don't have a camera, but that's what he was telling um his reps that was happening. >> Okay. >> That he was on. >> And did he did he add to you? >> Correct. >> Just these four plus the tablets. What's the value of the tablet? >> The value of the uh that tablet is $1,000. >> $1,000. And you got the you got the tablet back? >> I have it back. Yes. >> Okay. >> All right. And so you have the date the receipts and the days the restaurant and everything. >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. Um so all right. They tell you what's going on, right? >> Okay. Um are you willing to give me a statement about what happened? Yeah. >> Okay. >> All right. Well, let me go get some paper. >> Okay. >> All right. Um just gathering up some information for report. >> You're the manager. >> Sorry, >> I told her it wasn't intentional. I have a lot going on. Personal life stuff. >> I said I had to do what I had to do. You know what I told him? I said I was going to bring them back stuff like that. >> Okay. >> Just stuff like that. >> So I had to write a statement. >> Um actually we're going to do a verbal statement. >> Verbal statement. >> Yeah. >> You want to say exactly how why I did what happened or just tell what happened? >> Um actually I'm going to have someone else who's going to do the interview. >> Okay. 2375. >> All right. So, Andre Suarez, 11:15 at 2000. Uh, how long have you been the manager here? 4 months. Okay. Look, everybody deals with like what we were talking about just prior to going on record. So, you were having some personal issues paying bills and whatnot. So, what uh did you come up kind of with this? First of all, tell me what you did. >> I just took three phones and a watch. >> Three phones and a watch. Were they iPhones? >> There were three iPhones and they were what watch? A tablet, but the tablet was something else. [clears throat] But this investigation is all five. >> Okay. Or three, a watchable. Okay. >> So, what what made you select these items or what made it easy just because they were unaccounted for otherwise being in inventory? kind of audience keeping around a street board, you know, quick money. >> Quick money. Okay. [clears throat] >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, anybody else involved or just you? >> Not just me. Nobody else's. >> Okay. So, what did you do with phones? Ultimately, >> I pond them. [clears throat] >> You ponder them? Where'd you pawn them at? >> Uh, Gold City. Palm up the street. Wilds Road. >> Gold City. Okay. >> How much did you get for it? for all >> for the three iPhones or did you do three iPhones watching the tablet all at the same place? >> No, all together. >> Yeah. >> See, I think it was 1,300 for the 1300 for the iPhones, 375 I think it was. No, it was 300 for the watch and tablet. So all together like 1,600 >> 300 for watch and tablet. But you did them all at Gold City. >> Okay. You don't remember the name of the >> value. Okay. >> Okay. value for the watching time. Okay. So, do you remember what uh where the iPhone what >> iPhone 16 Plus >> 16 Pro 16 Pro Max had 10 generation and Apple had series 10? >> Yeah. >> And you just knew from your experience you could probably move those fairly quickly. >> Yeah. That and then I was going to buy back. >> Hopefully. Oh, you mean hopefully take care of your situation and then swing back and grab them and put them back and blah blah blah. >> Um, >> how long ago did you ponder these items? >> Okay. >> Okay. Um, so I don't need to know what your personal issue was, but were you able to pay off what you needed to pay off, but you just didn't have the opportunity to sell them back? Well, I was running for a commiserative that they they ordered me a commission from that and I never got it and they kind of put me in the hole. >> So, so I took the phones, did what I had to do. I was waiting to get this back and get [clears throat] the phones back. >> Okay. >> I plan on getting all of them back. >> Okay. What's your what's your criminal record? You getting rid so you've never been in trouble. >> Okay. Well, I appreciate your honesty. It makes it a lot easier. And you know, >> uh, obviously we'll we'll get video anyway from the value. It's going to have you there. It's not going to have anybody else, right? >> I have a friend that was with me. Maybe he doesn't work here, though. >> Was he part of the scheme or he's just hanging with you? >> He was just hanging with me, but he his name is on one of his slips. >> Oh, that's not good. >> Yeah. So, >> who's that? >> A friend. Facebook friend. >> What's the last name? >> Cran. >> Like T R A N. >> Yeah. But he didn't really, you know, he knew what I was doing, but he didn't know the reasoning and everything. I just said, "Oh, yeah, we're going to the pawn shop. That's it." >> Okay. So, you didn't tell him? >> I just told him that, you know, stuff like that. >> Then you took it from the store. >> Just said, "Yeah, we're going and that's it." I say, "I look back and that was it." You know, stuff like that. So, >> okay. >> But what if we go from here? What is the precaution? Do I have to wait for them to decide or what is the precaution of this? >> Well, here's the thing. You can't have a crime without a victim, right? So if I go to them and they go, you know what, we got him back. I don't feel like [clears throat] dealing with this. Then >> of course to pay it back for sure. >> But the other side of it is if they go, "Oh, hell no." You know, cuz the theft is temporarily or permanently deprive the victim of course >> of something. So even if like I took Courtney's watch and I had it for a week and then I slipped it back into his locker that still, >> you know, so give me a minute or two. Uh Courtney 132 manager does want to prosecute. Now the good news is you don't have a criminal record. >> Okay. >> So we're talking about you know a theft of and they got their they got their stuff back. >> Yeah. So that's good news. >> So I'm going in today >> going in and then you get a chance to bond out >> and then you'll get a court date at some point. >> I don't have the money to b the thing. I don't get paid till Wednesday. >> You don't have time. >> Well, you call family, you know, [snorts] if if you're buy like 10%. So% how much is So how much is it? >> I don't know. >> I don't know without having to look a bunch. It's probably,000 bucks or 1,200 bucks. So you got to come up with 10%. So 200. >> Yeah. Some [ __ ] like that. >> Okay. >> Okay. Go ahead and stand up. [clears throat] Do this outside though. >> I don't want to do this for everybody. We do this outside. I'll take the back. >> To the back. Yeah. All right. >> That's fine. >> Cuff him. Cuff him and then take >> I'm going to cuff him and then I got to bring my >> Yeah, that's fine. I'll I'll hold him into there. >> Let me take the watch off first. >> So, basically what we're going to do is this. Okay. Just to get you on your way, get you down to possible. >> Can you go and flip the watch off? >> Take the watch off. Uh, I want to get you underway so you can get processed. So, we're going to process you >> um at the station for me. I'll take it off >> and then I'll take his statement and do all the stuff that we need to do. In fact, you can if you want go ahead and empty out your pockets right there on top of that piece of paper. >> All right. >> That'll make it easier for him. >> You want to call your mom? Let me get to the phone. >> I could blow myself up later. >> Um, if you want to make a phone call like like what's your plan? Like who would bond you? >> That's what I'm saying. I don't know. I don't know. >> They make you make a phone. >> Yeah, they'll make a >> walk out the back door. >> Probably 12. >> You going to pull around? >> 105 for 30 grand. He was charged with grand theft of $750 or more, but less than $5,000.
