I was sleeping. Mhm. He like grabbed his hand and like did that kind of and then I put my stuffed animal on my leg and put the tray table down and he like tried to like push past it. From the airplane cabin to the broken home, the real victim was never the one causing the chaos. And then she slapped me in the face and then she went back downstairs and switched sides. She slapped you in the face? Behind every arrest, every scream, there's a child watching, learning, and falling apart in silence. The law can punish the guilty, sure, but it can't heal what the innocent had to witness. On January 15th, 2025, police were called to the airport after reports that a 28-year-old passenger had behaved inappropriately [music] toward a teenage girl on a flight. The flight was canceled and from there the truth began to unravel layer by layer. This is mom. Yeah, I'm mom. Hi mom. Uh just so you know, we have cameras on us, everything's going to be audio and video recorded. Um and then where's your Where's your suitcase? She's coming. This is my daughter. Hi, I'm Officer of the Airport Police. Everything is going to be audio and video recorded. Are you guys comfortable if we pop out and just go to a different corner? Are you guys okay with talking here? I think you guys are the last ones off. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. We'll just chat here then cuz my partner took the other individual there. Is he still in the area? Out out there to the right somewhere? Okay. And uh We'll We'll head up there for you guys. Do you have your ID with you by chance? You're okay with me talking to I understand you're not 18. Okay. Are you comfortable with me talking to her? Yes. Okay. Did you observe any throughout the incident? No? Let's head up there. We'll stand in the corner so we can get out of the way. And uh I'll chat with you. Um And what happened? Um yeah. Can you Are you related to him or Okay. It's your daughter. All right. Um I was sleeping. Mhm. And looks like you were too. Um he like grabbed his hand and like did that. Okay. On your thigh or on your on your genital area? Like no, just right there. On your right on your right thigh? Yeah. Um How would you describe that action? I don't know. Did it feel like a rub, a squeeze, a like a hit, a slap? I'm sorry. Kind of a rub. Like a rub? Okay. Did you feel his fingers moving or was it just kind of like the full hand just moved in one direction? Uh his fingers were moving. His thumb was like stroking my Mhm. Okay. So that would have been Was he sitting on on your right side? >> Yeah. Okay. So it would have been his left hand. The man's first accidental touch wasn't an accident at all. It was a test. He wanted to gauge her reaction to see how far he could go without getting caught. And when the girl stayed silent, his false confidence grew, opening the door to something far darker. Where was the arm wrist? Was it up or down during this incident? Though that kind of separates you. It was up. Well, it was It was down, actually. Okay. It was down and it his hand was like under it. Under it? Yeah. Okay. And how many times did he like do that? Just that that motion? That motion only once, but then he like went to like rest his hand on my leg like in that area Okay. um twice more and then I put my stuffed animal on my leg and put the tray table down and he like tried to like push past it. Okay. That is I'm sorry that that's horrible. So two more times? And then and then I got up. Mhm. After the second time, I had pulled up my notes app and showed my teammate and told her what was going on. Mhm. And so she knew. Um Did Did she see the actions at all? And Nobody else saw it. Okay. What What happened after the second time? Um Or should I Actually, technically the third time. Like I just got really uncomfortable so I put my stuffed animal up on my leg and then the tray table down so I was like And um and I felt his hand kind of like trying to like push past it and so I right then and there had my teammate get up and we moved and he got out of the way with her. I tried to wake him up but he didn't wake up at first. Mhm. Um and then I went to the back and told the flight attendants. Okay. And did they move you guys after that? >> Mhm. Okay. Until the end of the flight? Yeah. And did you have any more contact with him towards the end of the flight? Did he come to you guys at all? No. Did he say anything, apologize, or anything like that? Mhm. The moment she had to use her stuffed animal to block him is just chilling. A grown man doing that to a teenage girl. It's the kind of memory that scars for life. His repeated actions erased any doubt that it was just a mistake. I don't know if he knew he was doing it or not but by like fourth time it seemed he had his side. I wanted to move. I apologize. That's right. Uh so I wanted to move. Okay. fourth time. Okay. Seemed too many times for an accident. Okay. Uh let me chat with my partner real quick. All right. Um and uh we'll go from there. Mom, is Is there anything else that that that that maybe she told you that she's forgetting or maybe something that's uh that you noticed yourself or Where were you sitting? I was I was actually in the row behind them. I didn't notice anything um until she she wrote on her notes app and told me what was happening on her phone like in a text and handed it to me and I said, "Get out. Go tell flight attendant." So Okay. Are you um if we're able to establish PC um Are we Are you willing to assist with prosecution and press charges? How are How are you feeling? You doing okay? All right. Give me just one sec. I'll try to get this sorted. All right. So here's Here's what I have. Um it was about an hour into the flight. Okay. He takes his which would be his left hand and rubs her thigh right thigh. She pushes it off. Okay. Um like not She said he didn't touch the genital area but he touched the thigh. And like rubbed or just placed there? Not rubbed. And he got inserted Like this? He got all of these four times [clears throat] pulled in pulled in out. Whether she thinks he's asleep or not, I think this happened repeatedly and it's disgusting. You're not sleeping. Well, she said to She's like it just seemed like after that third, fourth time it just it seemed like it wasn't Yeah. an accident. Like yeah. So that to me crosses that Yeah. that it was intentional. And she just seemed like nervous and In our world that would be an assault for in men's world I don't know what he think about from that. When he was finally caught, he stayed quiet. No apology, no remorse. That silence screamed cowardice. While the girl's mother demanded charges, police called in the FBI. It was the right call legally but emotionally the toll was brutal. We do have a FBI liaison who his supervisor has already called. Just waiting a quick call back from him to see what next steps they want us to take or if they're going to come out and kind of take over the scene because sounds like it happened somewhere around the Vancouver Island which is international kind of thing so FBI deals with that. Just being yeah. Yeah, it's [laughter] the airspace works different. You know If it's not Washington airspace, it's not something that I can enforce so to speak. And they have kind of federal stuff that they do. Um so if you guys want, we can go just down further down the hall. My supervisor As soon as my supervisor gets a call, I think he's on the phone right now. Um if he gives us directives for further information or if they're coming out to kind of handle this and then we can kind of take it from there. You guys are okay. So it'll be a few minutes. Um I don't think it'll be very long but it you know, it might be. Is there Is there anything we can provide for you or for you? I know this is not stuff that we're expecting on a when we're traveling and it could be shaking so if you guys, you know, things start you you know, you remember something else or whatever, I'll give you guys my card with the the case number. Uh feel free to Email's kind of the quick way of reaching out to me or text to the work cell. Um the desk number I I'm not usually stuck at a desk. Uh >> [clears throat] >> any questions, anything I can provide at the moment? No. Okay. This never happens again. So thank you for you know, bringing it up and I appreciate you like, "Hey, no, let's do something." I appreciate that. Okay. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. Okay. So we're we're still waiting on uh word from uh the other representative. Uh but due due to the situation, due to the allegations, they canceled your flight. So you don't have a flight. Uh so this is a consumer notice that says contact information. Did you check a bag? Uh my friend checked checked it in for you. You traveling with a bag that you don't know the contents of? Uh no, my friend checked it in for you. Why would your friend check your bag? Cuz he He's an employee. Uh he paid for my check. He thought he could talk his way out of it but that's not how life works. The airline canceled his ticket and banned him for life. Every door he thought he controlled slammed shut. From a man who thought he was clever to someone realizing he destroyed his own freedom. Baggage canceled. So if you have a bag so that's that's going to continue down to Las Vegas cuz they don't have time to get the air from the bottom of the plane. So here's number for baggage claim here. If you have any info on your band that's going to come up you can contact them cuz they're going to ban you from Alaska Airlines. So if you'd like to contest that or you have any questions that's the email to to get that. And they'll be contacting you maybe in 5 days. Ban usually takes about 30 days to go through is what they're telling me. But that's that's for contacting any of those things if you have And how long will they ban me? Uh that would be good question for Alaska there. I don't know if that's a 1 year, 5 year, forever, who knows. But it it depends. They they probably do some sort of investigation. They probably request copy of the report, who knows. I don't know what all those steps are. It's kind of company but that email would be able be the place to get the information. Any questions about that side of it? Uh no. Okay so just spoke with the FBI agent so you're still detained. We're we're going to walk over to the lobby and hang out there. They're they're going to respond and we're going to go from there. But we're so we're going to head over there. We can get you some water over there. So but we're going to we're going to head that way. Sound good? Okay you want to just follow this officer and then meet at the lobby. Do you have anything else with you? Do you have a backpack or anything? Okay just go this way over here. Great to greet someone. And our boss coming in. Can I see her? Is she coming down or what's she up Yeah we'll let her In the end he was arrested and charged with sexual assault. If found guilty he could face up to 2 years behind bars. And Alaska Airlines has permanently banned him from flying. His sentencing is scheduled for December 15th, 2025. Stay tuned with us for updates on this case as it unfolds because justice never stops mid-flight. When the horror in the sky finally landed the ground had another crime waiting. And this time it came from a mother herself. Police were called after neighbors grew worried about a young boy left home alone covered in suspicious bruises. What began as a simple welfare check quickly turned into a story that left everyone speechless. You What's wrong? You ain't no trouble, buddy. Yeah you ain't no trouble. What's wrong? What year were you born? Ma'am I'm Okay do you know mama's phone number? No? You just here by yourself? All righty. What's wrong, buddy? You can talk to us. Ain't nothing wrong. You're not in no trouble or nothing. You can look up and and talk to us, buddy. You ain't no trouble. I promise. What can I do to to to get you to to tell me what's wrong, buddy? We here for you, buddy. Are you hurting anywhere? My leg and my back. How come your leg and your back's hurting? I fell. You had fell? I'm going to go talk to my partner here. Let me know so I can call the school and let them know that we found you. Okay? Nobody hurt you? Is that that's not why your back's hurting and you and your leg's hurting? Mr. Freeman I have found one of your Um we are at lot number Um we had a a welfare check um to come over here and check on a a young man by the name of Markell. Um complainant lives out here in the trailer park. Scale 1 to 10 10 being the worst what what do you think it is? It hurts pretty bad? Yeah? Bruno. The boy appeared terrified, barely spoke, and gave false answers about his injuries. Classic signs of a child living under threat or psychological control. Fear had become his language and silence his only form of survival in a house ruled by intimidation. Did did you call? What'd you see? Um so like I heard a lot of noise and then I just happened to stick my head out and I was being nosy. And she was yelling at him and he was standing in front of her. Like she was sitting down in the driver's seat and he was standing in front of her looking at her. And she and he fell to the ground. And so he had she had picked him up by the arm and yanked him up and she threw him on the staircase bottom of the staircase. And um Sorry about that. That's fine. And then um she was starting to yell at him and he was crying. And then she started to him and she had her shoe in her hand and she started to him with that shoe. And then she told him to go inside and she took her other kids to school. And I went over there and asked him I was like And before while he was walking inside she threw it at him. She chucked the shoe at him. And then she went in there and then she came out and then she just hurried up and dipped. And then I went over there I was like cuz I had opened the door and when I saw her doing all that and then that's when she was going inside so I closed the door and I was freaking out. I was like what am I going to do cuz I said I was And um And so I asked him I was like hey where's your mom? He was like oh she's in the shower right now. And I was like okay so you're not alone. He goes no I'm not alone. I was like so your mom's here with you. He goes yeah my mom's here with me. I was like so you're not alone. He was no I'm not alone. I was like did your mom just leave? And he goes yeah my mom just left. And I was like okay. I was like is she going to come back? Cuz I I don't know if it was him but I've seen a little boy like just staring at me out the window one day. And I walked in around there cuz I usually come in through that side I don't ever use this door. And so I went back to go check and he was gone. And then I was waiting for like her to pop up or whatever. A neighbor's detailed consistent testimony solidified the abuse allegations and gave officers enough probable cause for prosecution. Moments later the boy's mother drove up in a rage, crashed into a patrol car, and demanded to know why police were there. As if the chaos she caused could somehow erase the truth. Is this juvenile is this mom? OH OH she just hit the police car. Oh god. >> or did she hit my car? Yeah. She just hit your car. Did I hit it? Yeah you sure did. Why are y'all in my house? Well if you come over here away from me I'll explain to you. Huh? Come over here and I'll explain it to you. 36 on we also have a 10-50 at this address. Okay what's going on? All right so we've got um investigators in route. We've got an individual that stated that she seen you this morning. He's complaining of pain so we're trying to figure this out. He is not I was not beating [laughter] him this morning. >> listen listen that's not that's a whole lot. Okay. And I don't know who told you that but that's a lie to you. >> the investigations complete you can you can get your phone out your car but I need you to stay over here. All right you can step back over here by my patrol vehicle, ma'am. I'm going to be by myself cuz this don't make no sense. Hello. Hello. Mom they out here talking about somebody told the police >> Listen here listen listen listen listen listen. Hey you ain't going to do this in front of your kid. Walk on over here. I I hit him this morning. You afraid of your mother? No? Obviously you hear what your mom is saying. We've got a neighbor saying that that she seen your mom hit morning. Your mom didn't hit you this morning? No? Okay. Well they're going to come out here and talk to you, okay? You got diabetes? Yeah? You feel like you Proof of insurance, ma'am? Yeah. I'm going to need to get that. Why? Because we're doing an accident report for you hitting my patrol car. Cuz you want to come up in here like you're driving all fast and all that. You were definitely driving fast. >> was not I was going 20. 20? >> 15. Yeah right through all these cars. >> And I ain't what's called went right through cuz y'all threw me at my house. My son IS SITTING OUTSIDE. OKAY NOBODY'S NOT GOING TO BE OKAY. YOU COME TO YOUR HOUSE and you see a whole bunch of police at your house and your sitting outside you won't feel no type of way. >> Ma'am we're not fixing to argue with you about the Okay I understand that what you're saying. >> would would you feel some type of Ma'am Ma'am nobody's saying Ma'am nobody's saying anything. We just asked you for your insurance. She knew exactly why they were there. The angry act was just a distraction, a desperate attempt to control the narrative. Even then her biggest concern wasn't her son's safety or his diabetes but her car insurance and personal belongings. Okay. Bruno has done got trapped. Come on, Bruno. Come here. Bruno. Right here. Come right here. That have nothing to do with me. IT'S YOUR SON. BUT I'M I'M TALKING ABOUT I DID NOT HIT HIM. It has everything to do with you cuz your son is complaining that he's hurting. Exactly. What I have nothing to do with me. You put your hands on him. You weren't here so we have that >> take my kids to school. Okay I understand that and he's supposed to be in school? He's sick. HE'S A DIA he's diabetic sick. And and he's here by himself? I HAD TO TAKE MY TWO other kids to school. Go ahead. And he's hurt? No he wasn't hurting this morning. I need your insurance. I'm not going to ask you again. Your dog got away. You good if I put him back in the house? what's his name Mark and this is Bruno. I was 522 and 332 11:30 on a daily basis and nobody can say She been out here on the home cuz I'm the whole entire time. Okay, there's a there's a difference between the accusation and a charge, right? Ain't going to be no charge because I don't So there's not going to be a charge at all. Okay, well At the end of the day, they going to sit here and tell me my son my son's a diabetic. I He going to be in pain. So it really don't matter. Talk to my Let me call you back. My mom is calling me. The reason he didn't go to school today? Because you see how he he acting. He's a diabetic. So him being a diabetic they going to send him right back home from school. So me as his parent >> complaining of anything this morning? No, he was he was perfectly fine. This morning. The more she talked, the clearer it became. There was no motherly instinct left. The boy sat frozen, trembling, completely shut down from the trauma. Every word she spoke was an attempt to dodge responsibility and shift blame while the child's silence screamed louder than anything she said. Go get me a straw. So when you when you picked him up was it just to take him back inside cuz he was throwing a tantrum? Yeah. Okay. Go get me a straw. It's in my uh room. I think on my dresser. Did you spank him at all or anything? No, I don't I don't I don't I don't do that cuz my mom used to do that to me when I was young, you know, back then. And I don't I don't I don't I take the he the tender switch away. I mean there's nothing about there's nothing illegal about a reasonable spanking. I just want >> No, I do not I don't I don't know. I have no reason to. Oh, no. He's a puppy. What are you praying? For what? You're under arrest. For what? For what? Uh-uh, you got to tell me why. I'll tell you in the car. For what? What? Disorderly conduct. For what? >> For the way you acted whenever you pulled up here. Can't I have to get my other Can y'all please for for my Well, you can you can bring your >> No, no, no, no, no. Can I please call my mother? We'll tell you when you get in jail. We'll tell you when you get in jail. For for my You can walk or we can drag you. Let's go. though. Cuz I don't want my son to go to the doctor hospital. Can y'all please No, I need to know my rights. We just told you what to Hop in. Can y'all please Going to get that stuff out of her. You got anything in your pockets? No, I need to know. Can somebody please tell me No, before I get in the car. Can y'all please tell me first? Get in. You can get in the car or we can put you in the car, ma'am. Let's go. Can you somebody talk to me? Can one of y'all talk to me? They will. No, I want I want to know now. That's all right. Get in the car. This is on some beat. Bruno. Bruno. Hey, come here. We're going to need animal control for the dog. Well, you know I believe unless y'all feel like sitting here one of y'all can take this little fellow to animal control yourself. I ain't got nowhere to put him. Put him in the take him or you can just Look >> Tyson eat him. Look at Look at him. Don't you want to take him to jail? Don't you see the Don't you see the resemblance? He was being a bad boy. Don't you see the resemblance? Look at him. She was charged with first-degree child abuse and disorderly [music] conduct. Her own admission about picking him up after he threw himself down only strengthened the case. The arrest, however, is just a temporary fix. What this boy truly needs is someone who'll protect him, not someone who'll hurt him and call it love. Because when she gets out do you really think she'll love him more? Next, police responded to a 911 call from a neighbor who witnessed a drunk mother assaulting her own daughter. What seemed like a moment of rage would leave scars that haunt not only the mother and child, but everyone who saw it happen. Taser. Get in the car right now. Get in the car. Get in the car. Taser. Get in the car. Right now. Get in the car. I'm going to get all those stuff. Get in the car. Get in the car. Please get in the car. God damn, you smell good. Come on, help me out, ma'am. Grab that taser. I got it. Grab that taser. Yep. Hey. You okay? Sorry, I just didn't want um my dog to get to you, so I just shut the front door. Okay, no problem. All right. Give me a second to catch my breath, okay? I'm all I'm old. Are you all the only two involved now? Yes. My dad's deployed. Okay. So what time she start drinking alcohol? Um about yesterday um Do me a favor. You have your dad's number? Yes. Is he Does he pick up the phone? Um I can You can try. >> Yeah, can you call him for me? >> My mom has I can't call him because we have the same number. Uh would that still allow you to call? I think I can't call him technically and you see my phone's broken All right. Let me get mine real quick, okay? This case is a brutal reminder of how alcohol abuse fuels violence. The daughter's statement that her mother had been drinking since the previous day and slapped the children revealed a toxic mix of anger and addiction exploding into something uncontrollable. Hey, do me a favor. Let's go Let's come over. Where's the shade? Yeah, you can come in the I know right. I know when my mom is drinking. It's okay, Ardyn. Yeah, you're you're good, sweetheart. Sir, how you doing? This is This is Deputy Sheriff Alvarado. All right, we're at your house right now with your two daughters cuz your wife has been drinking excessively and uh she was I don't really want to say attacking the but going after them. I just got here, so I'm I'm trying to figure out what's going on, but I wanted to get a hold of you, okay? Your wife right now is she's under arrest, okay? So we got to find out who we can get the to be looked after and all that stuff, okay? What What happened? Uh I don't know. She got into a She got into a argument with the daughters, correct? One of the daughters and um then she started to get physical towards one one of them. The Which one? Um both of them. Yeah. Yeah, so she started to get physical towards the children. And she was The young one. Yeah, the young one the little one got slapped in the face and she's really torn up right now about it. So I'm trying to keep her calm, but I want to make sure we got these kids While the father was away on duty, she lost her sense of motherhood entirely. When police called the soldier to tell him what happened, his voice dropped, [music] heavy like the truth he just heard. He agreed to let his children stay with the neighbors because at least there they were safe. Hey, they could stay next door. Who lives here? I do. He lives there. All right. That's why he was on the phone with me. That's why I came down. Could Could the I got dad on the phone. It's just it's on speaker, sir. Hello. She did kick me. Okay. And I did get her in the car. You can just get obstruction if you want So what are the charges? For me, if it was me, I would do obstruction as well as she was fighting us, so I mean she kicked me Public Public drunk. Nah, I mean she chilled out when I said Well, she said that he just got I just got off the phone with him, the husband, and he said that she's made threats to herself. So I just want to make sure she ain't 10-13. So I don't cuz otherwise that changes everything cuz then she don't go to jail. And then she stepped out when [ __ ] locked her room locked herself in the bathroom and called y'all. She like like snapped her cigarette and pushed him upstairs. Uh-huh. And then she does the laugh. She left? Yes. And then she But she standed in front of the door. I tried to stop her and tell her what she's doing. She wouldn't listen. She said shut up to me and uh um and um and and then she slapped me in the face and then she went back upstairs. And [ __ ] She slapped me in the face. Okay. And she And then she went back downstairs and I told [ __ ] that Mama slapped me. She lied to me and and uh we called y'all and then at the end of the call we solved and then we went into the my sister's bedroom and then we told y'all Has she hit you like that before? No. She always does. And are you okay? I know you talked to EMS. Are you okay? This mother was no longer a source of strength for the man serving his country. Her drunken rage breaking down the bathroom door where her kids hid showed aggression far beyond reason. This wasn't just a loss of control. It was proof she'd crossed every moral line of being a parent. She didn't strike the open face. And I had him take a picture. I went and checked the house. The bedroom up at the top next to the bathroom, split door frame. So >> She kicked the door That's my guess. Okay. Cuz if that's where they locked themselves in, I don't know if they said bathroom or bedroom, but the bedroom's clearly got split door frame. See, I didn't want to fight nobody. When this wiped my face Yeah, we're not going to do that. Put the window up. We're not going to let her disrespect us. Go ahead and put the window up. >> Yeah, we're good. Let me take a picture of that. What's your name again? Dusty. Dusty? >> Let me spell it. D U S T Y. Thank you. Yep, and it's already open. It's Dusty, we're going right on over here. What is going on? You're going to jail. For what? Uh multiple sort of things. Yes, all in my deputy. A multiple Get in, have a seat. No, I need to know. Y'all didn't read me no rights. Go ahead and get in before you catch the lightning. Go ahead and get in. Sit back. Y'all didn't read me no rights. And if you kick us, I swear I will light your I only kicked at cuz he came at me. In the end, the mother was taken to jail and charged with simple assault, obstruction, public intoxication, and assault on an officer. If convicted, she could face jail time, and she's almost certain to lose custody of her child or have her parental rights severely restricted. So, when justice closes one door, the devil opens another. This time with cash in hand and a child on the line. On January 13th, 2022, in Crockett, Texas, inside a Walmart, a woman was accused of offering a stranger an outrageous amount of money to buy her child. When word got out, police quickly tracked down and arrived at the home of 49-year-old Rebecca Lynette Taylor. Who the hell is at my front Hey, Rebecca, it's Lieutenant Press at Crockett Police Department. How are you? I'm good. Why are you at my front door? Cuz I got a call I wanted to talk to you about something today. Okay, could it be that um I don't know. Mom, get over here. THERE THERE COPS WHO AT MY DOOR as usual. Could it be because I adopted $7,000 worth of tiny puppies and they're in my room? No. Then what's it about? Um a conversation you had with a girl at Walmart earlier. Do you remember that about her kid? Yeah. Can you tell me what that conversation was about? Um all right, so I don't like it when people steal at the Walmart. No, Mom, get over here and witness this. Hey, how are you? I'm fine. Hi. Hey, I'm Lieutenant Press at Crockett Police Department. Do you want to talk in front of your mom or do How about this? I'll let my lawyer talk to you. I did nothing wrong. And I don't even know why you're on my precipice, so get off. Okay. Have a good day. Rebecca's behavior during her first contact with police was a textbook case of avoidance and psychological defense. Her record didn't fit the profile of a typical human trafficking suspect, but her evasive responses when confronted raised red flags. Five days later, an arrest warrant was issued. Hold on. You said I can talk to them, right? Let me talk to them. I'm not I'm not I'm not You can You can stay here and listen if you want. >> No, I'm saying I'm I'm certainly listening, but I just want to make sure that they're I'm not trying to have them answer a certain way. So, your mom saw him pull out with a truck, and then she got in her car and followed him that way. Yes. And what happened afterwards? He went that way. I went that way, and then I pulled back on my street, and I came home. Is that when the big truck turned around and came back through here again? What happened after I pulled in with the truck? I think is what he's trying to ask. No, I'm trying to ask I'm trying to figure out the direction you went. Did you pull out onto Lakewood or no? Hard to believe, her son was in the hospital, yet she still managed to cause chaos with his car. She kept insisting she couldn't go back, but every move she made said otherwise. Clearly, her top priority wasn't her family. It was the bottle. Yeah, there was just the crashes. How many people she hit? Do you know who else? I don't know. After the crash, it was the victims themselves who held her down until police arrived. A rare moment showing the strength of law-abiding citizens standing together. Heartbreakingly, she destroyed her son's car and maybe her own future along with it. >> 22 cars. Are you Janice? Yes. Janice L? Yes. And all of them are We got We got We live We are going to be going to first from the area. I want to say it was um home. I believe a couple of the victims have are at my scene at the cigar bar on 41. She pulled up in front of me cuz I'm on 41 going to turn left on Bayshore, and she's like oh, telling the ride along. I see her coming like switching lanes. I'm like oh, I didn't say nothing. She's coming fast. But right where you're in the far left lane to take the turn, she nailed the curb and it's like I thought she was going to pull over, so I I followed her, and all of a sudden she's speeding up. I'm like I see a smoke, and she's swerving. I'm like uh-oh. Oh, good stuff. split. Just got out. >> Nice. What was that today? Yeah. And that's her son's car. It hurts. It's hurting my arm. Be quiet. She'd been free for barely an hour. >> son's car. She just totaled it, so. What's her name? Noel Haley. No, that's her That's the That's her son. Janice. Yeah, she looks kind of familiar. Okay, yeah. It was really slow through the ditch and got up there to decide I'm going to sit down. >> feel like you were watching The Walking Dead while she was running? I thought she was going to like just like disappear on me, but she's like those guys already running out. The guy in the white truck got mad because >> you, I was like she's probably really in the street. Unbelievable. She'd just been released from prison 1 hour earlier. It's as if she never learned a thing, just took a short break before heading right back. Now she faces multiple charges including reckless driving, hit-and-run, and resisting arrest. So, how long do you think she'll sit behind bars this time? So, when the shadow of guilt fades, the light of entitlement often sparks a brand new storm. On July 3rd, 2023, police responded to reports of a woman causing a disturbance and refusing to leave a property despite repeated requests. What began as a simple disorderly conduct call soon unfolded into something far more complex. One person speak at a time. You want to take the reins, go. Go. We're here. I'm from Michigan. We're upset because we've been trying so hard since Friday to get her some mental health evaluation. >> We went Again, if you want to take the reins, please one person at a time. No, you calm down. This has been very difficult because every step we take, we can't get her the help she needs. Okay. We went to see her on Friday evening. It went from a 10-minute conversation, and then she went into these delusions and rants and raves. And as soon as we didn't say what she wanted to hear, she went a and pushed us out. We called the cops. We tried to get them to get her to a mental health facility. They said, well, she's in her right to kick you out. She's in her right to be physical with you to get Right? Kick you out of her house. So, I um So, we leave. We leave uh and they say, no, we can't baker act her cuz she's not harming anyone. She's not harming herself. Okay. So, the best thing we have to do now is wait through Sunday. Now, Monday, we thought the courthouse was open. We were going to go petition the judge because she is delusional. She's handing out Yes. She's handing out $50,000 checks to strangers on the street. She came here, made a ruckus, probably didn't pay her bill, wasn't paying attention to the rules, was inviting everybody in their awful to come live with her on campus, and creating havoc, so they kicked her out, rightly so. But she needs help. And so, okay, we go Monday to the courthouse this morning, and they're closed. Can't get it. Is this a substance thing? Is this a mental health thing? >> thing. It's a mental health thing. >> diagnosed with anything? She's not diagnosed with anything. >> been seen? Uh I don't know. She's my older sister. She's 70, I'm 55. But we do have a manic depressive brother who is deceased since 2017. We have another manic depressive sister who's more on the depressed side. And And I've never seen Germaine like this. Germaine is loving and beautiful and like very eccentric, but she is never rude. She's never sworn. She has sworn more in 5 minutes than she's ever sworn in her whole life. This is not my sister. She's having a mental health breakdown. She's having a psychotic break. And she needs help. Officers had tried to help before, but without probable cause, they couldn't detain her. Then Germaine's behavior shifted. Erratic mood swings, emotional collapse, and loss of control. She wasn't herself anymore. Watching her unravel, it was clear this wasn't just losing her temper. This was a full breakdown. She needs mental health more than she needs to go to jail, but she does have to go to jail probably. But whatever. What I'm saying is she needs to get help. Okay, that's why I'm sitting here >> Okay. talking to you to get some background >> Okay. so that we can determine what Okay. what may benefit her. >> Okay. YOU GET AWAY FROM ME. >> [screaming] >> TURN OVER. TURN OVER. TURN OVER. GET HER. GET HER. TURN OVER. GET AN AMBULANCE. GET AN AMBULANCE. GET AN AMBULANCE. OKAY. >> [screaming] >> PEOPLE MIGHT MISTAKE HER SISTER FOR THE Karen in this story, but few realize that sometimes family love is the only thing standing between someone and the abyss. As Germaine screamed and denied any wrongdoing, delusion took over reason. The confrontation exploded while truth stood quietly in the background. What did you do? Yeah, I was the last one in here. She didn't want to help her. She's detained with two deputies inside the car. She's got a baker act before I GOT HERE. PLEASE HELP ME. DAMN. I CAN'T GO OUTSIDE. I CAN'T GO OUTSIDE. TAKE ME OUT. All right, just go and get her family checked out real quick. Then she's going to jail. Please save me. This is so messed up. Her family returned to speak with the officers, explaining [music] that while Germaine had acted violently, she was no longer lucid and needed to be transported to a mental health facility. Their calm, measured cooperation was a textbook example of crisis de-escalation done right. No. Okay, so we have the largest mental health facility Okay. Okay. Okay. That'll probably accompany her. >> Okay. But why is that guy so got a hard on for taking her to jail and not listening? I understand. I understand. I understand. I Okay, I understand. We're going to make her more comfortable, okay? The officers followed proper protocol, especially for someone showing clear signs of mental instability. Meanwhile, Germaine kept rambling about money and power, things completely detached from reality. It became painfully obvious she wasn't talking about real wealth, but about delusions of control. No. I referred 50 people there. All good in that room. They're making over a million and a half dollars off of them. Brian was not able to help her? Thank you. HE DIDN'T COME. I was telling him he started talking to the officer. They threw me off the property last week. What are you guys going to do? They owe me. There you go. Is that all right? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Whatever's more than a a trillion? Yeah, cuz you know why? I'm going to sue this hospital, and I'm going to sue this sheriff. In the end, the woman was taken into custody and charged with trespassing and assault. Given her acute mental health condition, the court may replace jail time with mandatory psychiatric treatment. The priority now isn't punishment. It's stabilization and urgent medical care. On October 10th, 2024 in Ohio, a desperate call from a grandmother brought police to the scene. A young mother was refusing to leave the apartment, yelling, threatening, and smashing property. The tension in that home was suffocating, and what happened next only pushed things [music] further toward the edge.
