Two sides of the same line. >> In this video, we go to Belleview, Washington, where officers recently got ambushed by a subject with a knife. Join Dave Xcon and I in breaking down this video. >> Put a false false case on me. I'm saying, >> are you the one that called about the DV that happened right now? >> The TV? >> Oh, DV. And are people arguing? >> Yes. >> You called about that? >> Yes. Okay. So, um I didn't see >> you you call us because you you said to the SP you saw two people arguing. Okay, let's get to that first and then we go to the second part. Yeah. So, that was happening over Keep your head up. with my car key to try to put a false false case on me. I'm >> saying, are you called about the DV that happened right now? A TV are people arguing? >> Yes. >> What's your name? Jude. >> Yes. >> Okay. So um I didn't >> just mean to understand you you call us because you you said to dispatch you saw two people arguing. >> Okay, let's get to that first and then we go to the second part. >> Yeah. So that was happening over fire. Short fire. >> Don't move. STOP. >> SHOW FIRE. Short fire. >> Having looked at this video, what's some quick thoughts on it? >> Well, seeing the video from a Khan's perspective, the cops played in the way that he wanted to since he was going to ambush him. The cop was way too close and they seemed like it was just a routine call. And you see how that went for him. And there's that 21 ft barrier. A subject can actually get to you just as quick with a knife as they can with a firearm. >> Well, one thing I noticed right from the beginning, you could see it look like the pavement was kind of wet. And I know just from fighting in the county jail wearing slides, buddy, if it's wet, you're going down. I think when he went to go at him with the knife, the police officer, if you notice, he slipped cuz the the ground was wet. So him being so close and the conditions, it cost him to get stabbed, but it could have cost him his life. >> Yeah. Another thing I noticed right from, you know, law enforcement 101, the subject put his hands in his pocket many times. And that's one of the things that's a big no no when you're talking to a suspect. That would have definitely prevented um this from going to the next >> Let's get to that first. >> Yeah. They never one time said, "Hey, keep your hands out of your pockets, will you?" or nothing. It was like they were just having a conversation with somebody. They didn't really control the situation. And again, you know, you've said it all the time. You know, you do so many of these, you start to, you know, law enforcement starts to get comfortable. Now, as the comm guy, the bad guy, he had him right where he wanted them. He couldn't have played out any better. >> Like we talk about, you know, people do get a little bit upset when law enforcement officers shoot sometimes as many times as they do to stop the subject. This subject actually lived. Yeah. Well, he he got lucky he's alive. And listen, no matter what situation you're in, law enforcement risk their life every day. But even as a normal place, you could be going to your local Walmart and if you're not being alert, paying attention, anything could happen. If somebody came at me or my family with a knife, you know, same thing's going to happen. So, I don't know why people get so upset with law enforcement. Oh, they shouldn't have shot him so many times. Have you ever been in that situation where your partner got stabbed? You know, again, man, the guy pulled a knife and stabbed at cops. What did you think was going to happen? They ever going to take you out for tea and crumpets?
