He's trying to be Do not like that. >> Stop. >> But do not push me like that. >> Okay. Don't listen. Don't walk up on me. >> Do not push me. Okay. >> From brawls and accidents to murder plots, every tragedy begins with a moment of lost control. Let's go. There we go. Okay. Okay. >> When deceit is exposed, emotions become weapons, and every action leaves a scar. [screaming] but the self-justification behind it. On March 4th, 2022 in Albuquerque, gunfire broke the quiet, [music] leaving a teenager dead. From that moment, a chain of tension and unease spread through the community, pulling everyone into a heavy silence filled with fear and confusion. >> I got food like few blocks over that way at Java the Joe's, I think it's called. >> Yeah, I didn't hear anything, but I saw people running. >> Okay, so you saw kind of start from beginning with me. Okay. So, I'm walking down Central towards my residence here. >> So, you're heading east central. >> Yep. >> Okay. >> Um I get to the corner right there. There about five or six people running. One of them is in like a high school graduation gown. Um all but one of them run into this high school. He turns around, runs back to the alley, gets in a silver Ultima, and takes off. I saw another guy backed it like I just saw strange cars that aren't usually here and I was driving in circles because this is a rental car and I can't park it back here and I looking for parking on the street. So, I just went circling and I noticed some weird activity and I just had this gut-wrenching feeling that someone was about to get shot because there were just weird people back here and I saw this kid, this guy right here who shot. He was over here talking to some girl and the last minute I saw him over there. I turned the coffin over here talking to someone and I circled around this way in front of Central. Whatever reason I didn't come back through. I was circling around and you saw >> I had a weird feeling. I was like something's going to happen and I heard a shot. >> You heard one shot. >> Just one. >> One shot. >> And [music] people started scrambling around. They were running. And so that was the night and I had 911 ready to go. >> And I just um he was at work. He was at work and then he hadn't been around for you know what, 20 minutes, a half an hour and stuff. And I went looking for him, you know, like where is he? Cuz he's he'll, you know, sometimes he sends them to the store or to go make a delivery someplace and stuff, you know? So I thought, did he go make a delivery? Like we were ready to open back here and he's supposed to be going back and forth. He like does dishes, but we're trying to train him to do some of this stuff back here. And it was like, you know, that's his MMO. He always just disappears. >> And so you you guys are both employees here? >> No, we own the restaurant. >> You guys own the restaurant? Okay. My apolog >> According to witnesses, the car sped off right after the shot. The suspect was seen in a graduation gown while the victim had left work just 20 minutes earlier, hinting this wasn't random. Maybe it was staged. Maybe he didn't act alone. >> He's your grandson. Is that correct? >> Okay. Do you do you know where his parents? >> Yeah, we'll just let him. >> So, like I said, those other detectives will be be in touch with you. Are you going to hang out here at uh at >> just seem like such a good kid. He seems like a good kid that has, you know, gone astray. >> Hey, Carol. Jay is dead. Yeah. I we don't know exactly what happened, but I'll call you. >> Jane was killed. >> Okay. Let me talk to you in a while. Okay. >> Oh my god. >> Heard the gunshot. We were outside and we were opening the doors to get in the car when we heard the loud. >> Were you leaving from here? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do Do you happen to from the school? >> Yeah. Do you mind if I talk to How old are you? >> 17. >> 17. And your mom? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um, can we actually talk to you two separately and then I can talk to you? >> Vice versa. I can talk to them if you want to. >> Door's open. I hear the gunshot go off. I see the birds and I just get in the car, close the door. >> So, how long after that? Cuz I understand you guys eventually came inside. >> Maybe like less than 15 seconds. It was around 15 seconds. It was just um do we, you know, do we leave? Uh, should we just try to get out as fast as possible or would staying here be the safer option? Um, so that was it really. Once we saw everyone was going to the school, that's where we went. >> And I just remember all of us when we heard the gunshot, I like panicked like I got her. And um I was just looking around me and they were it was like they were running to the school first. And um I just heard someone yell, "Someone's dead over there." And then and then I still have her and I looked and I just seen the guy I think in my room on the main street. >> Can you describe the vehicle for me? >> Uh looked like a pretty dated sedan. I'm pretty sure it was tan. Anybody responded to a four-door twodoor? >> Four-door. >> Okay. When you say dated, what do you uh >> It was a pretty It definitely wasn't a 2000. I wouldn't say it. uh looked a bit older. >> I'm over there at my apartment and um his girlfriend at your apartment right now. >> Yeah, he called me this morning and told me, "Hey, you're going to be a great grandpa is what he told me." So, >> no kidding. His who his girlfriend? >> Um I think it's Mald. She's at your apartment right now. >> Right now? Yeah. >> Is there anybody else over there? No. As detectives dug deeper, a clue surfaced. An old brown sedan. The victim's uncle revealed the boy was about to become a father at 16. That changed everything. The case suddenly looked a lot less like street violence and a lot more like revenge. [music] >> Can we talk to you about the kitchen? >> Yeah. [music] >> You know, she wanted to. >> Yeah. Do you mind if we come in here? >> Yeah. Go ahead. >> Yeah. I'm just going to I'm not going to shut it over. I'm just going to bullet [ __ ] >> Okay. So, let's start with today. What did you guys do today? Um, we he took a shower at like 8:00. He was getting ready to go to work at 10:00. He left around 9 9 50 something. I was making appointments today. because we found out that we that I'm pregnant and he told me to well he was texting me still until at least around [snorts] 12:00 and then he stopped answering me for few hours and he was texting me >> on messenger >> on Messenger like Facebook. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Um let me check exactly what time he left a second. [snorts] [clears throat] It was at 11:11. That's when he texted me the last time. [sighs] This morning, him and my brother were supposed to box it out because this has nothing to do with this at all. My brother and him just don't get along. They bump heads very much. But my brother would never do this. He knows how I feel about J. He knows how that would crush me. And which brother? My younger brother. Your younger brother. What's his name? >> Angelo. >> Soon after, the suspect's mother entered the picture, and her timing matched the last message the victim ever sent. There had been a fight between her son and the victim, but whispers suggested she might have pulled the strings. Suddenly, the family wasn't just grieving. They were suspects. >> Any questions about your car? Okay. Because the car is not where you're saying you left it at. >> Okay. Somebody stole my car. >> That's why I'm talking to you. I want to know. >> So, I have to call your car stolen. >> So, here's the thing. Okay. So, >> I believe your car was used in today's homicide. >> Okay. >> You're lying to me. >> No, I am not. >> Okay. So, if you don't tell me who had your car, >> I don't know. It's your car. >> I left my car at the side of the road. >> Okay. I didn't lend my car to nobody. >> I know. We've been driving up and down trying to find your car. We've called in, checked to see if it was towed. It has not been towed. Um, and again, >> so then why is my father? >> That's what I'm trying to tell you. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, did you shoot me? >> No, I didn't. >> No. He's a kid. He's a baby. >> I know, but somebody did. >> But I >> No, I have no reason to do anything. >> Okay. So then you leave your car, right? >> You leave your car, you walk back home, and then at 1:37 takes you to the laundromat at 2:20. >> Once the shot happens, the people loading the vehicle will react. So it's the individual walks the vehicle somewhere right here. Yeah. So, he just walked to the passenger side >> and they reacted. >> Is this victim? It's like a toy. Maybe you maybe you don't know. Maybe they have kept you in the blue. But I'm going to tell you right now that your mom said she drove Angelo to his interview. Guess what? Angelo said he borrowed the car from your mom and he drove himself to the interview. He used your mom's car to go to McDonald's and Anthony. So obviously somebody's lying. And again, the reason why I'm sitting here asking you more questions is because you seemed a little more innocent and oblivious to things, but based off of your phone and the conversations I have been able to see, you know, when I brought up who owns guns, you were like, "Nobody does." When your little niece was like, "Oh, yeah, they do." You and your mom were like, "No, nobody owns guns." Well, guess what? In your phone, you're talking about guns. Detectives noticed her darting eyes, her guarded tone. She swore she hadn't left the apartment, yet security footage told a different story. Meanwhile, her son's phone hinted he'd brought more than just fists to that alleyway. >> Ask Co if he wants to buy drugs off of for him to sell. >> I'm not making that up. It's from your phone and I'm sure >> I know it's in there. I know. I know who swept out a gun and that gun disappeared. >> He didn't buy a gun. >> Yes, he did. >> When? >> It's on your phone messages. >> He didn't buy a gun. He didn't even take a gun. >> Okay. Well, what are the odds? Did I see that he gets a Glock? And I'd have to look at your phone to give the specifics of the gun. He says he got a Glock to realize, Elizabeth, that somebody took your baby's dad's life and now that baby is not going to have a father. And as much as you love your family, they still took your baby's dad. >> I need to be any clearer, he died. >> I know he died. You guys just told me that. >> Well, you know, because that's Elizabeth's. >> Yeah, but I didn't send nobody. >> Baby. >> All right. So, then let's start from the beginning. What did Hosu do that upset you for you to make such threats? Hit my sister. >> Hit your sister. >> Okay. How do you know? >> Cuz my sister told me. >> Okay. What did she say? >> Said that. >> Then came the truth. The victim had gotten Elizabeth pregnant. Her family was furious. Angelo carried out the hit and the mother helped cover it up. But one mystery lingered. If Angelo fired the gun, who drove the getaway car here somehow? >> Is your mom going to be here? >> Was she driving at Was she driving down here? >> No, she was talking to one of the people that was there at the house. >> Oh, at the house? Yes, >> I was at the office. Sorry, I was no longer at the house. Um, do you know who she was talking to? >> No. Uh, just what happened when I was went home and I went to get my mom. So she come back home and then I was getting arrested for a warrant. I don't even know what the warrant's for. So then my mom started talking to him. She said she was going to be here like she was going to have one of them taken or something like that. So >> she should be coming. >> So she should be coming. Angelo, because you are a minor, I am going to read you your rights. And we're >> I want my mom here. That's me. But then I had questions or something. I wasn't like going to talk to my mom. >> So, you want your mom here while I read you your rights as well? >> Yeah, I want her for the whole thing. >> Very That's what I told him. >> In the end, the truth came to light through a secretly recorded conversation between the mother and Angelo where she confessed to the crime. The mother now faces seconddegree murder charges with an 18-year prison sentence. Angelo, charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit murder and assault, will serve 4 years and be released at 21. What are your thoughts on this family? Share them below. And as this family's tragedy fades into headlines, another story begins where the intruder isn't the hunter, but the one trapped inside. On July 4th, 2024 in New Jersey, police responded to reports of a young woman locked inside a house for causing a disturbance and suspected theft. But when they arrived, the truth slowly unfolded, leaving the entire neighborhood stunned and on edge. >> Who lives here? >> She's locked out. He lives upstairs. This is her landlord. She's paid rent. She's chilling. She's just trying to get back in. He's being an [ __ ] and it's been recording us. We just need to get back into our apartment. It's really not that big of a deal. >> Who? >> I'm sorry. >> This man is land. >> She's having an anxiety attack because she's freaking out cuz he won't let her into the apartment. >> This is like a very sober situation. It's very ridiculous. I didn't even get to see the fireworks because we're locked out. >> Hey, are you okay? >> That live downstairs 73. The individual that lives downstairs. >> Her friend quickly stepped in, insisting she only panicked after being locked out. Sounds reasonable, but it was clearly a clumsy attempt to spin her friend's crime into a simple misunderstanding between neighbors. >> I'm trying to get back to my house. >> Which house you live in? >> What's your name? >> We accidentally locked ourselves out. >> What's your name? Wow. >> I don't even live around here. I'm just visiting the fire. >> What's your name? I'm good. >> My name is >> Yeah. FIX. [laughter] >> That's what I'm trying to figure out, but come over here. Come over here. Come over here. The thing is that we answered your request. >> Come over here, man. >> Okay. You did not. Just explain what happened to me. >> Okay. >> I got locked out. I got knocked on my door and SAID, "HI, I GOT LOCKED OUT." AND THEN HE CAME AROUND AND STARTED FILMING US. >> OKAY. >> I don't know why he's filming me. My friend >> What's your name? >> My name is Chris. >> Stand up for me. >> No. Did my dad call you? >> Name Patrick. >> Come on. Please stand up for me. >> Did my father Patrick? >> Can I talk to my father? >> Come on. Let's go. >> My dad's a mentor, guys. Okay. Look at my phone. >> Please stand up for me. >> No, my father has dementia. Guys, >> I understand. >> No, my father has dementia. >> I don't need the wellness check my father does. >> Please stand. >> Okay. Can you help us? >> The suspect calling herself Chris seemed mentally unstable and dodged questions. Minutes later, officers confirmed she had an active warrant, and what started as a strange call instantly turned into a full-blown arrest. >> Help you. >> No. No. No. NO. NO. NO. I DON'T. WHY IS SHE FILMING? WHY? NO, NO, NO. [screaming] [screaming] [screaming] All right. ALL RIGHT. ALL RIGHT. [screaming] S RELAX. Sit her up and sit up. RELAX. RELAX. I GOT HER. I GOT HER. JUST CALM DOWN. [laughter] Your arm has your arm behind your back. That's it. Nice and easy. Just behind your back. >> Be your own. Let's cuff this person. >> All right. Just calm down. >> Extra extra. Not being extra. >> Just calm down. >> You got her. >> I've been saying I got her. You need to calm the down, >> man. >> Stand up. >> Okay. Well, it's me here. I don't trust him. [laughter] I don't trust him. No one's helping me. I don't trust HIM. I DON'T TRUST HIM. >> I'M GOING TO HELP YOU. I'M GOING TO HELP YOU. OKAY. BUT I'M THE ONE BEING FOUND. >> I'M GOING TO HELP YOU STAND UP with with I don't trust you. I don't trust you. >> Okay. Well, then I will help you stand up. Okay. >> Let me help you. >> I'm right next to you. I will help you stand up. All you have to do is lift your legs up so I can help you stand up. Okay. >> Can you do that for me? >> Did my father caught you? >> No. 732. >> No. We got >> All right. I need you to stand up though. >> My father was the one. >> Okay. Can you stand up for me so I don't rip your arm? >> My arm. No, I don't want to. I'm just trying to tell you. >> I don't know what you're talking about. I'm so much here. >> I see. Easy. >> You need to move your legs. >> No. >> Okay. So, we're going to end up having to hog tie you if that's what you want. >> GOING TO BE OH, THIS IS A LITTLE KINKY, GUYS. COME ON. THIS IS UP, GUYS. >> All right. Now, you can just never >> um car's right down there. I I wanted the 650. >> Oh, you have stuff back there. >> Pop the trunk. Huh? Rory, >> what's that? >> What is >> What? You're not going to trunk. >> You're not going to trunk. Trump him was filming and recording me while I was hanging out with my friend. SO THIS MAN WAS RECORDING ME. Why am I DOING MY BREATH? >> WHY ARE YOU TOUCHING ME LIKE THAT? BECAUSE YOU WON'T DO IT YOURSELF. MOVE YOUR HELPING LANDLORD WHO'S filming me and my friend askina. >> Get somebody to grab her. >> Ask Marina please. I'm pretty sure courtroom's open. >> Yeah. >> If you can just grab her from that side and pull her up cuz she's Can you please remove? This really hurts my left wrist. Ow, my left wrist REALLY HURTS. MY LEFT WRIST HURTS too much. >> YOU CAN SIT UP. WE can help. >> NO, MY LEFT WRIST HURTS. I CAN'T SIT UP, but my left wrist hurts. Help me. >> My left wrist is fine. YOU GOT TO [screaming] STOP. YOU'RE HURTING ME. STOP. >> I'M LIKE DOING THIS TO ME. MOVE YOUR LEGS AND UP. COME ON. >> OUCH. SHE WAS FILMING ME, YOU IDIOT. Sit up. Sit up. All you have to do is sit up. Sit up. All you have to do is sit up and you'll be fine. >> Stop wrapping your legs around me. You're not going to do that. >> Why are you doing that to me? >> The suspect began to panic and scream as officers escorted her to the car, forcing them to physically restrain her. At one point, she even pulled at her own top and shouted uncontrollably. A clear sign she knew exactly what she was doing. Deliberately trying to create chaos and disrupt the arrest. >> All right, come. You come up with me. We'll get her right. Are you >> Are you crazy? >> [ __ ] >> On camera. How do you FEEL NOW, YOU IDIOTS? I WAS THE ONE BEING KILLED BY MY CREEPERS IN THE LAST [screaming] >> wrap your leg around me again. I'M GOING TO I GET YOU having the window. >> What do you do? >> Ma'am, come on. You got Come here. Come here. >> Look really bad. >> Grab my uniform. >> ARE YOU KIDDING ME? >> I GOT IT. I GOT IT. Like 100b. >> I'M LIKE 100 POUNDS. THE ONE AND COME BACK. What's up, >> Jaylen? Bring her in here. This is fine. So smart. >> Okay. So, I'm going to take the handcuffs and I'm going to search you. Want to take one hand off? this arrest. >> Do you have anything that's going to hurt me? >> A little bit. >> Let's Let's get this situated first. >> Um, so it's open to not have warranty. >> I think it's I I know the shot. >> I know, but I think it's Cynthia, right? >> Yeah, we'll figure it out. And then we're going to do a shape and raise your mind. Things took an even wilder turn when somehow she managed to slip out of her handcuffs and lean halfway out the patrol car window. After being caught again, she hurled insults at the officers non-stop. This time they made sure those cuffs were tight and there was no way she was getting out again. My left. >> My wrist really hurts me. >> It really [ __ ] hurts with my left one. My left my right's okay with my left one. She >> What? Um, my finger fits in here. How does it hurt? >> Um. Ow ow ow ow ow. >> Mind you, she she already got out of a handcuff. >> So, my fingers fit in there. >> So, you're good right now. >> Yeah, you could put your shoes back on. >> That's what I do. Um, she said it will be transported. You go put your shoe back. >> I don't trust him. >> You don't trust your shoe. >> You were wearing these. >> I don't trust him. [clears throat] >> Cuz you saw it. You said nothing. It's stupid, right? >> Weirdo. That's [ __ ] gross. Who's such a video? My landlord. He has it all on video. He's got all the tape. Listen to the landlord. >> Creep. >> This hurts. >> It's okay. >> I just stuck two fingers on. >> All right. Can I talk to my dad, please? >> We're We're not making full right now. You are under arrest. >> You heard me. He's >> You are under arrest. >> He's gone. My dad must love me. You be advised. >> Okay. So, should I with her? Should I stay with her for now until the the Can I deactivate? Yeah, I'm good. In the end, she was charged with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, and escaping lawful restraint, facing jail time, fines, and probation. What do you think about this so-called female lupin? Drop your thoughts in the comments below. After an intruder found herself trapped inside the very home she broke into, the next story begins with a home already falling apart. On February 4th, 2024 in New Mexico, police responded to a call about a woman being kicked out of her home. The twist, [music] the one who threw her out was her own mother. It was an uneasy beginning, one that set off a chain of troubling events to come. >> This is Arby. Why did you call us? >> So, tonight, um, we were kind of drinking, but not really. Right now, I'm trying to look for my friend and her boyfriend, which is Matthew Hudson, and then Johanna Martinez, and they were just recently just here. >> Okay. So, you call us cuz you can't find your friends >> kind of basically. Yeah. >> How much have you had to drink? >> I'm going to go make sure that it's not this one that's sitting in the lobby. >> She said her mom's in 207. >> My mom's in 207. And then there's my friend. She's um she's kind of like right here. And then she's going to be um New Mexican. >> We're all New Mexian. Mexican Indian. So, she's Native American. >> There you go. Gray colored sweater and a black right there. >> I believe your friends around the corner then. >> Yeah. Well, yeah. We all had an argument earlier. My mom, she all told us to leave. So, >> okay. Do any of you guys live here? >> No. >> Then leaving is what you need to do. Yeah. >> I kind of need help with that though. Like, >> so we can try to help them get off the property. >> I can walk you all. Do you have somewhere you're going to or >> nothing? >> Okay. So, how did you guys end up? Why did you come here? >> Why is he laughing about me though? >> Just you're talking to me. Why are you >> feel more comfortable talking to you? >> Well, I'm the cop, so you called us. So, that's how we're going to handle this. Okay. >> That's really racist though. >> It's not racist. There's nothing here has anything to do with race. You called us. You're definitely intoxicated. >> I did call, but right like what what that cop is making me feel is racist. >> Okay. >> I don't feel comfortable talking to him. >> It started with alcohol and ended in chaos. Even after being told to leave, Andrea blamed her mother and accused the officers of racism just because they laughed. Her reaction showed a defensive mindset where pride completely overpowered reason. I will. My other officers are dealing with them. I'm dealing with you. I'm not here to round up your friends for you. You guys are all drunk, doing whatever going on here, fighting, arguing, whatever. You need to leave. What's your name? >> So, you want me to leave? >> I'm telling you to leave, not want you to leave. I need your name first. >> That is the lawful order. If you refuse to give me your name, you will be arrested. What is your name? >> It's going to be Andrea Brown. >> Andrea Brown. This is your friend. >> This is your friend. >> 04. >> This is your friend. Oh my god. Yes, it is. >> Kick rocks. We deal with you again. You're going to jail. >> Bro, we are E. That's from the fact that I >> shut your MOUTH AND WALK. >> I tried to act like he >> First of all, >> [ __ ] Go >> walk. That's messed up. >> Last time. I'm telling you. Take off walking or you're going to jail. >> For help. >> Take off walking. You're going to jail. >> I'm the sergeant. You're under arrest for soccer disorderly. >> Go. >> No, you are. Go. >> I'm not YOUR [ __ ] FRIEND, BRO. >> Roll over. >> I'm not. >> No, you are. >> No, I'm not. >> BRO, I'm not. Okay, >> dude. >> GIVE ME YOUR HAND. >> DUDE, the off my arm. >> Let go of your hand. >> What? Okay. >> One, do not. >> Okay. >> Release your hands. >> Dude, what the heck? >> Release your hands. >> Well, you guys were given a chance to leave and then you wanted to start talking. >> We were trying to leave. What the hell? >> No, you weren't. Not anymore. >> Yes, we are. >> What the dude? What the >> Let go of your hands. >> What? >> I'm okay. >> One. Do not. >> I'm okay. >> Release your hands. Dude, what the heck? >> Release your hands. >> Well, you guys were given a chance to leave and then you wanted to start talking. >> We were trying to leave. What the hell? >> No, you weren't. Not anymore. >> Yes, WE ARE. >> WHAT the >> I'm going to give you to the count of three. One. >> All right. >> I'm okay. >> You're not. >> I'm okay. >> Yes, I'm okay. >> What the heck? That is so weird. Well, you guys were getting a chance to leave and then you wanted to start talking. >> Yeah, we were trying to leave >> and being disorderly. >> Trying to kick me again. >> Dwayne, mother, >> stand up. >> Dwayne, you couldn't have got me too early. Dwayne, Dwayne. Dwayne. Dwayne. DWAYNE, >> SHUT UP. THAT'S UP, DUDE. I'll do you stick my shoe. Disrespectful ass up. >> Literally, I'm the one that warn you [ __ ] about. >> Instead of walking away, they stayed trying to prove they could do whatever they wanted. Johanna even kicked at one of the officers as if violence could somehow restore her dignity. But in the real world, resistance only speeds up the trip to jail. Once you fight back, the victim label no longer applies. I wasn't going >> put that hand behind your back. >> I didn't go in nowhere though. >> Warn [ __ ] >> Put it out [ __ ] >> Any of them? >> No. Wonder what you guys are drunk. >> Yeah. >> Stop trying to pull it. >> I'm not even trying. I'm just telling you. Yes, I did. Yes, I'm the responsible one that reported us. >> Well, then you should have listened. I did. I was just trying to get my friend in the right. What the hell? That's all. I did it. What did you do? >> I did it. >> My fair totally straight up like >> you guys. You got to stop moving. >> If we can get a finger or a pen through, it's as loose as it's going to get. >> Look. >> Look. >> Oh my god. >> It does not hurt that bad. >> It does. >> Have a seat. Have a seat. No, for real. At least loosen it a little bit. Don't do anything. >> No, ma'am. >> Please. >> No, ma'am. Cuffs are not Handcuffs are not meant for comfort. Have a seat. >> At least loosen it a little bit. >> Okay, I'll loosen up. Look. >> No, you guys don't even >> listen. He's doing it. >> Okay. That's uncomfortable. >> All right, go and have a seat. >> All right, that's all you could have said. That's so hard to sit on. You should know. Try to lean so that they don't get you too bad. >> That [ __ ] feels so uncomfortable. Can you fix that? >> I fixed someone. Stop. >> That's weird. Don't you know how weird that >> No, I don't because I'm not the only one tripping over that. >> Give her your name. >> Joanna Martinez. The only know. >> Yeah, she has to know. And don't be rude to her. >> Don't be rude to her. >> The only real priest who knew is you. >> Yeah, then pull me away. >> Don't have a seat. What you doing? >> Sit down. >> What the disrespect, huh? >> You're the one being disrespectful. >> You're with the disrespect, huh? >> Your mama didn't teach you respect or what, >> Joanna? >> So, you decide to treat people how you feel, don't you? >> Don't pull away. >> Hurts. >> Don't pull away from me. >> I'M NOT PULLING AWAY. That hurts. >> Well, they're not meant for comfort. >> I'm noting asking for comfort, man. That shiting hurts. to beat a mother. It feels what the IS IT THERE FOR? GET OFF MY HAND. >> STOP IT. >> ALL RIGHT. I DON'T KNOW HOW THE LAST >> I'm trying to help you. >> I'm telling you. Only you. Not even this right here. >> Stop yelling at me. >> All right. I don't mean to yell, but is going to be mad. >> I'm trying to help. >> How am I supposed to BE COMFORTABLE WITH Y'ALL IF you don't make your voice? What am I trying to do to me? >> What am I trying to do? >> You're trying to make me go into the I need to and I don't mind that. But that hurts. >> I don't mind if you could me. But that [ __ ] hurts. He's dealing with it. I don't mind. Okay. Fix it. That's cool. Okay. And it just hurts the way he's doing it. And I don't want to explain that. >> No. First time I escaped. No, I guess not. >> ACT LIKE A COP. You're being so weird. You're being a weirdo, man. That shit's weird. I'm not the only one tripping about it for real. >> I think you are >> literally weirdo. I'd rather trust this with my life than him. And you get away from me. >> [ __ ] away from me. >> YOU'RE WEIRD. I SWEAR IF YOU GUYS DON'T KNOW HOW weird he has been, get the away FROM ME CUZ I'M ABOUT TO GET MAD as I could. GET THE AWAY. DON'T >> Don't touch me. >> STOP THE [ __ ] AWAY. GET AWAY. GET AWAY FROM ME. LITERALLY, THAT [ __ ] just I can't deal with that [ __ ] like that. Just relax for just a second. Are you allergic to anything? >> No. >> Do you have any medical history? >> No. OKAY. [screaming] >> YEAH. Come on. >> This is getting me mad. I don't know. >> We're leaving. >> No. Like, come on. >> Oh my god. Let me go. >> No. >> Panic took over Johanna's better judgment. She wanted forgiveness, yet she lashed out. She begged for mercy, yet she threatened in the same breath. It's that human paradox when fear and ego blur the line between wanting help and losing control. I don't want to be in the same room as me. >> All right. The more you talk, the longer he's going to be, the longer he's going to be here. So, shut your mouth and then I told you, >> I want TO LEAVE. PLEASE LEAVE A ROOM. NO. Get out. I cannot. Keep walking. Keep walking. >> Keep walking. >> What? Why is she laughing about then? >> Cuz you have a dog and you're being silly. >> Is that funny? >> You have a dog. Come on. >> Why is that funny then? >> Well, you didn't hit your head. >> Oh [ __ ] >> Oh, I'm sorry. Now, yes, I am laughing at you. >> Now you you you made me laugh. Oh, that hurt. >> I know. I know. >> There we go. That's That's a little >> See, you can't say I'm not cooperating. >> You are cooperating. >> I am. >> Try not to fall off. Remember, I'm the one that saved your head just now. >> Don't worry. You'll be going the same place here in a couple minutes. >> Seemed disorderly in here. >> Not even. >> She was screaming. And there's poor sick people. >> No, she wasn't. >> On God. You're lying. >> Swear I'm lying. [laughter] Why you got to lie to me? I'm about to stand up and start laughing. [clears throat] >> No, please don't do that. Last time you did, I had to >> Last time you did, too. You had to [ __ ] tase me. >> I didn't tase you. >> You did? It was. Matter of fact, >> I didn't tase you. I definitely didn't tase you. >> Nope. Just kidding. I'm >> You didn't get tased tonight. >> Where you going? >> Quinn, is that you? But it is you. No, that's you. >> Nobody tased you. I can promise you that. >> You tased me four times. >> I definitely did not. >> No, you did. >> Andrea, on the other hand, was the opposite. She kept smiling, even chatting with the officers like nothing was wrong. That contrast in attitude would shape two very different outcomes. >> Wait, wait, wait, wait. So, you guys, can you guys go check with my dogs and my mom's? I I will go drive around and look for your dog. >> Watch your leg. >> All right, I'll just have you stay sitting right there, please. >> No, no, no, no. >> I'm going to hide behind you. >> Don't >> I don't want to hide. >> Walk. >> I don't want to. >> I know, but you have to. >> You go before me. >> No, you walk in front. >> You go. >> You walk in front. Oh, >> look. They're all waiting for me like weirdos. >> That's cuz your friend was fighting everybody. In the end, both Johanna and Andrea were charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, assaulting an officer, underage drinking, and obstruction. They faced up to 18 months in jail, and $5,000 in fines, but prosecutors later dropped all charges, meaning neither would face a criminal conviction. What do you think about the prosecutor's decision? Fair or too forgiving? From a family fight that spiraled out of control, the next story begins in a place meant for safety, but quickly turns into a trap. On July 27th, 2024 in Washington, what seemed like a simple car theft outside a McDonald's took an unexpected turn when the suspect barricaded themselves inside the restroom, forcing police into a swift, intense response. Okay, >> so they're not in the car anymore. >> Yeah. It's not occupied. Are you the truck owner? Who's the truck owner? >> Keys. >> Oh, key. Extra key. >> Oh, that's extra key. >> Yeah. >> You say it's unoccupied, Rob. >> Yeah. Open it. So, the black woman with the red and black wig said she's in one of the bathrooms. She's the one that came out of the truck, but we don't know. She's driving enough to detain her, but we have enough to detain her, but that's [music] about it so far. I haven't clarified where we saw her driving. >> Hello. This one. >> Police department. Please come out the bathroom. >> Hey, how you doing? Come on out. >> Come on out. >> What? >> Come on out. You're in the [snorts] stolen vehicle. >> You're in the stolen vehicle. >> I didn't break my glasses. You're going to break my glasses. >> Stop resisting. >> We're not resisting. >> I'm confused. Don't be arrested. >> You're being a result. >> Relax. Relax. Take a deep breath. Stop. >> We'll talk. Okay. >> You need to stop doing this [ __ ] Stop around. >> I'm not [ __ ] around. >> You got to bring my back. I can't. >> I got it. We got it. >> These are going to be much tighter than they're supposed to be. You keep wrestling with us. Settle down. Settle down. >> I can't see without my glasses. >> Here you go. >> What do you not understand? >> Anybody else here? [ __ ] fix my butt. Let go of me. >> This is not a fashion show. >> Aren't you Am I already not You already >> Hey, go ahead and go outside. >> You did it, right? >> Let's go. >> Let's go. We're going to have to rock you outside. You have two legs and two arms. >> At first glance, it was a simple case. A car gone missing from the McDonald's lot. But the suspect hid in the restroom and accused officers of touching her, turning an ordinary theft into a delicate situation that required careful handling. Um, on any guns or knives? >> That truck. That truck. >> We're going to read your truck is my presence. Why can't I drive it? >> No. Hold on. I'm confused. My That truck is my >> Slow down. Slow down. Slow down. Slow down. We're going to read your rights and then we'll chat a little bit more. Okay. And then we'll chat. >> So I can read this to you. >> All right. You have the right to I'm confused. That car is my cousin. Why? >> I got to read you this first, then we'll get to that. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in the court of law. After reading that, do you understand what I've just read to you? >> Just that car is my cousins. I'm confused. >> Do you understand what I've just read to you? >> No, cuz I'm I don't know what the merciful. >> Okay. You're not arrested. You are detained >> for >> Do you understand what I just read to you? Yes or no? The only way we can talk about that is that if you understand the rights that I just read to you, it's yes or no. >> Yes. >> Yes. Yes or no? You got to say it verbally. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> So, ma'am, what was your name? India. >> India. Is it I N D I A. What's your last name? India. >> B E N S O N. And what's your middle name? You don't have one. All right. What's your date of birth? >> So, >> you've been asked to identify yourself. You've identified yourself as India Benson. No date of birth. If you continue to fail to identify yourself when required by law enforcement, you may be issued an additional charge and arrested solely on that. Do you understand? >> I don't even know. You have the Do you have the vehicle keys in your pocket? Where the vehicle keys go? Do we have those? >> I think it's in her pocket. I haven't taken out cuz I don't know what it is yet. I don't want >> Well, it's going to read your fingerprints. >> So, just relax. And >> you have to identify her under here. Excuse me. >> Ma'am, >> if you fail to participate in this process again, we'll just book you as Jane Doe and you'll go to jail on the new charge of obstruction. >> I just told you. What do you mean? >> You're under arrest. >> I was in the [ __ ] bathroom. >> So now you're under arrest. >> Arrest for what? >> Obstruction. >> Yep. >> For what? Get out of my butt. Get out of my butt. There's You can obviously see there's nothing in my pocket. >> You got You got something on your left side front pocket. >> You can obviously see there's nothing in my pocket. I don't >> just pull her through. >> Let's go. >> There we go. She deliberately used a fake identity, but facial recognition technology exposed her in seconds. With lies failing her, she resorted to violence, shouting, cursing, and resisting as she was escorted out. A classic reaction of someone who knows they've painted themselves into a corner. >> And I'm just parked my truck. She she or another person. I didn't know. >> You didn't see him? >> She Yeah. took them my truck to run. >> Okay. I'm trying to see if we get video of her arriving in it >> and she was taking long time in the bathroom. So, we thought that she just tend to change your take a shower because some people you know that they took a shower and make a mess with the sink. >> So, it was weird for me. She was taking loan and I told her I knocked the door for her and I told her, "Hey, you need to leave because you have been here a long time. We only need to let the customers come in the bathroom." And she said, "I'm leaving. I'm leaving." And she was brushing her hair when I saw her on the bathroom. >> Okay. I think you missed I didn't know. >> Oh, there she goes. >> Yeah. Oh, there she is right there. Oh, she Hey. Uh, I just got her. It's her in the car. She drove it here and she exited. So, if they want to do PSPs, BUT >> HEY. [screaming] HEY, THAT'S MY COUSIN'S CAR. Literally nothing against She tried to convince officers that the car was loaned to her because she had just gotten out of jail and needed a ride, but the owner's testimony ended the debate immediately. Investigations leave no room for feelings and certainly no room for the idea of borrowing a reported stolen vehicle. >> I mean, y'all want to wait until my cousin pulls up? He's supposed to come here in an hour, bro. Like, last time I checked, it was hour and 15 minutes. It should be hour now. He'll come with all the papers, all the documents, everything. She could face up to 18 months in prison, $10,000 in fines, probation, and restitution for any damage to the car. When a thief is finally caught in her last refuge, another tragedy begins. Born from anger that has gone too far. On July 28th, 2022, chaos erupted inside a McDonald's in Florida after a violent brawl broke out. By the time police arrived, the suspects had fled. But the clues they left behind quickly set off a tense and gripping investigation. >> I sat in front of your car. >> Oh, yeah. His defensive words, uneasy gaze, and the smell of alcohol were enough for police to recognize a potential threat. At that moment, they weren't just looking at a victim. They were facing a latent risk. >> In the car, he came up, he swung at him, and then he got out of the car to protect himself. >> Got out, said, "What's your problem?" Boom. I DIDN'T I DIDN'T THROW THEM AT YOU. NO, I DIDN'T. >> She kicked. >> When a beer can was thrown, self-control collapsed entirely. The aggressive act clearly established a criminal offense, making her arrest inevitable. Yet, she stuck to the familiar defense. I didn't mean it. In the legal framework, intent doesn't erase the consequences. >> Put your feet over here. >> I didn't. >> Pull your feet over here. >> No, I won't do it again. >> Hold your feet over here now. >> I'm going to freak out. >> One, two, put them over here. Cross them at the ankles now. >> Cross them at the ankles. I didn't throw it at him. >> If I hate you, I'm very sorry. >> I didn't throw it at him. >> Okay. >> I don't want to go to jail. >> Okay. She would be going to jail alongside her boyfriend. He was arrested for DUI and underage possession of alcohol, facing up to a year of probation, fines, and license suspension. She was arrested for assaulting an officer and resisting law enforcement, potentially facing up to 5 years of probation, fines, and community service. When the fury of love subsides, another chaos emerges, this time fueled by alcohol and defiance. On August 3rd, 2025, officers arrived after a woman was banned from a Florida bar for drunken disorder. But what happened next took things far beyond a simple dispute, turning the night into a tense and escalating standoff. >> Come over here. >> Let's go. >> You really Where's your idea? You want to trespass? >> You want to trespass? >> I'm not ugly. You >> come out with me. >> From the very start, her shouting and insult signaled the situation was heating up. No one could predict how far it would go if officers weren't there to intervene. Within minutes, her behavior made matters worse than anyone could have anticipated. I'm >> sorry. I didn't mean to do that. >> You did. >> Excuse us. Excuse us. There's a car coming. >> Don't cuss at me. Okay. I'm not your friend. >> What's your first name? >> I'm trying to cut you. >> What's your first name? >> Seriously? >> What's your first name? >> First name, please. >> Or do you want to go to jail? How could you possibly take me to jail? >> I need your name because they want you trespass. >> How could you possibly take me to jail? >> How do you ID yourself to law enforcement? >> That doesn't give you the right to take me to jail. >> They want you trespassed. So, I need your name. >> Doesn't give you the right to take me to jail, idiot. >> To ID yourself. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. >> Don't move. >> She refused to cooperate and deliberately tried to mislead the officers before fleeing the scene. This showed a clear challenge to authority and an attempt to dodge responsibility. It seemed her worry about a child became a self-justifying excuse. A classic move that offenders often rely on. I didn't do anything. >> Ow. Ow. Why? Why? That hurt. >> WHY? That hurt. >> That hurt. You should have never ran. >> Told you I'm not your friend. >> Okay. >> Walk over here. >> Now you're going to jail for resisting. >> For I've never resisted. >> Yep. I literally never resisted. You did this. >> You did this. I never resisted. You [ __ ] ignorant. >> I never resisted. You're so You were so You're know that, right? Why did you arrest me? >> Resisting without violence. >> Uh but I didn't do that. I explained to you that the >> No, >> you wouldn't let me speak. >> No, >> you're so Dude, >> the business wanted you to trespass. So, I need I need your name to put you on the call. You refuse to ID yourself. >> That's not true. >> And then you took off running. >> That's not true. >> Would you like to these buildings? >> Would you like to identify yourself now? If not, they'll fingerprint you at the jail. >> Would you like to ID yourself now? I am a mother and you just did something. >> Are you willing to ID yourself? >> No. >> She refused to cooperate and deliberately tried to mislead the officers before fleeing the scene. This showed a clear challenge to authority and an attempt to dodge responsibility. It seemed her worry about a child became a self-justifying excuse, a classic move that offenders often rely on. My entire family is in New Hampshire. I'm the only one here. Do you realize that? >> You guys have no idea who I know. No idea. That's cute. That's cute. No idea who I know. So cute. >> I didn't do anything wrong. You have nothing on me. I did nothing wrong. You better pray toing God that I am back home before my daughter gets home. Youing ignorant. I've done nothing. I'm in trouble because I know someone. You stupid. How could you take me down because I know someone? >> Swear to God. >> What the do I know? What do I know? What do I know? >> What do I know? What do I know? What do I know? What do I know? I don't know anything. >> What do I know? What do I know? I would never. All I care about is my daughter. Youing idiot. Facing the jail ahead, she grew desperate and angry. Threats and insults did nothing to sway the officers. They only exposed her loss of control and habitual defiance. When emotion overtakes reason, every act of resistance becomes a feudal performance, pushing consequences to the unavoidable. >> I hate you. >> You know nothing. You know nothing. I'm trying to get >> You're trying to get my name. You know my name. You ignorant. >> How could someone >> Ultimately, the woman was arrested for non-violent resisting law enforcement. If convicted, she could face up to one year in jail, 12 months of probation, and a $1,000 fine for defying the law and obstructing justice. As this chaotic scene closed elsewhere, another vehicle became ins snared in a preset trap. On June 8th, 2023 in Florida, body cam footage captured the tense moment officers arrested a suspect in a serious crash. The situation demanded precision and calm. Every move had to be careful enough not to raise the suspect's suspicion. >> 18 Bravo Lima Golf Tango on a white Honda Accord occupied one time. Raper dairy drive. Romeo Alpha Papa license, registration, proof of insurance, >> deputy canvas. You looking for your insurance? >> It's all right. Just hold off on that. I got you here. Okay. Just give me a minute. Okay. All right. >> Officers spotted the car and one officer chose to approach it under the guise of a routine traffic stop, requesting standard documents like a driver's license and insurance. The tactic was meant to put the suspect at ease and facilitate the next steps when she returned to the vehicle. >> Hey, it's her. They'll do it on this one, too. >> Yeah, for the most part. >> The guys get here, we'll get her out and talk to her. The very least, we're going to take the car, but >> Okay. >> See what she has to say. The >> red one. >> Okay. She looks like the one from the video. >> There's two cars registered to her. We think it's her and dad. So, obviously this is the car they use, but then there's a red car they're in all the time, too, which is over there, >> and it comes back to dad. Looks like dad lives in South Florida. >> Okay. >> So, whoever her boyfriend is is probably going to be the suspect. >> That makes sense. >> Yeah. They not everybody's going to bunch up here. So, they see our cars and all that. So, that's why I kind of parked over there. >> Okay. >> And then, yeah, as soon as our other guys come up here, we'll make contact. We're just going to do initial interview with her. >> Okay. >> And see how because other than the car, we don't have anything. The victim's still all up. We can't even interview him till like next week. >> I heard he's like had surgery, right? Skyler was telling me. >> Yeah. If we could talk to him. >> Get in his phone, like we'd already know who this was. So, we're having to kind of backtrack it. >> Yeah. >> Once they confirmed the suspect matched the description, police decided to conduct an interview instead of relying on the victim's unavailable statement. This careful approach reflected the need for precision. Any slip could alert the suspect and give her a chance to flee. Give everything up. >> Hey, you guys want to grab our car? >> Yeah, we're going to pull her out. >> Pull another one. >> Let's pull her out. >> You want me to look? Yeah. Uh, you want to just step out for me? >> We'll explain everything to you. Just come come step out for me. We're just here to talk to you. Just step out. >> So, it's kind of like how I like doing my traffic stops. I like pulling people out. All right. Just head back to the front of my car. >> Work. I'm a >> What do you do? >> Registered behavior technician. I work with kids with autism. heater like an ABA. >> Yeah. >> Uh an Yeah. Okay. Well, it's not too late, so let them do their thing. Okay. What kind of disability? I know ABA is It's just specific to autism then cuz aren't you guys >> with some kids who have like Spopia? >> Yeah, that's what I thought it was more for. I didn't know autism, >> but mostly autism. >> Okay. So, is it is it actually ABA or is it different? >> It's ABA therapy. >> Okay. You go into people's homes usually. >> No, I work at a school. >> What school? >> Uh called Santiago. >> Where? >> Santiago. >> I don't think I've heard of it. Is it in this area? >> School. >> Oh, that's why then. That's why. >> Just moved to >> Oh, yeah. We're from >> Miami. >> Okay. It's different. A little different moving to Miami. Yeah. How long ago did you move? >> Wasn't that long ago? >> A month ago. >> Yeah. You like it? >> I haven't even known anybody. >> No. That's what happens when you move. >> Not with my dad. I mean, my parents are young. I have cool parents. They're just hang. >> Yeah. Stay at home. The suspect was kept near the vehicle to prevent distractions and subtly shown that officers knew the real motive behind their actions. The officers maintained a friendly demeanor to gauge her reactions while collecting information that reinforced their suspicions. >> Good, good, good. Just give us a minute. >> Huh? >> Just give us a minute. >> Oh, yeah. >> Okay. >> Everything okay? >> Yeah. We're gonna we're going to talk to you and explain everything to you. We just got to kind of talk to her first. Yeah. >> You just looked like you were coming up on a mission. >> No, I wasn't. >> I was like, "Hey." >> Hi. >> Hey, how you doing? >> Are you Dad? >> Yes, sir. >> Hold on. >> Relax. >> I need to get my bag. I have stuff for work that I need to get. >> Calm down. >> Just relax. >> I'm relaxed. You guys, >> please just relax. >> You don't control the encounter. It's not how it works. >> We have probable cause to take that car. It was involved in a stabbing. >> What? >> Mhm. 100%. That car is on video. That tag was involved in a stabbing. >> Can I need my bag? >> But I need my bag for work. >> Okay, you need to do things the right. Calm down. You could get your bag, but calm down. >> She could get her back, correct? I mean, you're going to >> She can't take anything out of the car. >> We're taking the car. >> So, somebody was stabbed. They're in the hospital. They're not talking. They might die. No, I I'm not. >> So, no, she can't not right now. She can't get anything that her her like personal >> When the case went public and the vehicle was impounded, the initial shock on the suspect's face quickly turned into aggression. She lunged at the officers, escalating the tension dramatically. >> She was He's going to talk. >> Okay, I need to talk to my dad. That's my fault. >> You're not going to talk. Stop. >> Go there. You're going to jail to my dad. >> No, he's talking to them right now. Take a step back and stop. >> Go over there. You're going to jail. I'm not going to tell you one more time. That's It's not illegal to stand over. >> You're under arrest, >> Nikki. Bro, you're under Nikki. Nik. Hey. Hey. Come on, guys. Bro, >> I told you. I told you. >> You're not doing nothing illegal. >> Now she's going to jail. Now handled a different way. >> You have to knock her down. >> Yeah, I did. >> Yeah, she did. >> She's resisting. >> All right. Well, this is pointless. >> Long story short, the car is involved in stabbing. She's on camera. Her boyfriend's on camera. trying to talk to her like an adult, but I guess that's not going to happen. >> Over. >> Sit up. >> Do you have anything on audio I need to know about? >> No. >> They since we both work in the area, you know, nights we go over there. Shut the up. >> Night two go over there. Night two come here. >> Yeah, >> but I don't know. >> You know how we get in touch with her boyfriend? You don't know anything about him. Nickname. >> Bam. >> [ __ ] I wish I did. >> Yeah. >> Unfortunately, our kids do some stupid [ __ ] >> Yeah. >> Who she was with that night or that day. It was He almost died. The guy that got stabbed, he's still in the hospital. >> This This country don't give a about people your cousin. >> You have anything on you I need to know about? >> [ __ ] I don't got [ __ ] >> Nikki's attempt to grab a work bag suggested she intended to conceal or remove evidence. Her defiant behavior reinforced her role in the incident, and her yelling at her father demonstrated a loss of control and rising stress. >> Peacefully and talk to me, >> which I appreciate cuz you could have just took it from the beginning. She would well she would have been leaving 100%. >> It came as a surprise that the driver who caused the accident was actually her boyfriend and Nikki had acted as his accomplice covering for him. She now faces charges for resisting law enforcement, aiding and abetting an intentional bodily harm. She could be looking at jail time, fines, restitution to the victim, and probation. As this chase wrapped up on the streets, the next surge of tension was about to unfold within the four walls of a home. On January 25th, 2023, officers responded to a reported family dispute. What began [music] as a verbal argument quickly escalated when the suspect turned aggressive and refused to cooperate, forcing police [music] to step in and take control of the situation. >> Salem on a domestic complaint. Might be a boyfriend, girlfriend. There's somebody over there standing right there. Yeah, these hide back here. Um, so my girlfriend, we drunk a little bit, >> okay? >> And she had her best friend come over, >> okay? >> And something with her best friend, her boyfriend was going on and my girlfriend didn't like it, so she just started like tripping out about it >> about their situation and she took it out with everybody else. >> And uh, All right. So >> you guys you guys live together? >> No, I be I'm over here a lot though. >> Okay. But you don't live here? >> No, I don't live here. >> You guys got kids together or anything like that? >> No. Yeah. She just tried to like fight me. Like earlier she tried to fight me. I kind of like defended myself. >> Yeah. >> So like she's like when I was on the phone with the um police department, she was like, "Oh, what who do you think they believe the police?" Because I have a busted lip and a nut on my head. Well, I was like you you were like fighting me like trying to fight me and stuff. >> The boyfriend reported being hit in the head and sustaining a split lip while his girlfriend intoxicated vented her anger. This loss of control and use of violence to dominate highlights how when emotions take over, logic disappears, leaving only consequences and tested limits. >> All right, start from the beginning. Tell me what happened. >> We had a few drinks. >> Okay. >> Or me and her best friend. >> Okay. >> And then her best friend is boyfriend. >> Yes. >> Cuz they had something going on. Girlfriend didn't like it. >> And then um she just like kind of tripped out about it and took out her anger out everybody. >> Okay. cuz she's drunk. >> Yeah. >> So, what's what's the physical aspect between you and your girlfriend? >> Oh, she put her hands on you. >> Put her hands on you. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Like swinging on you, pulling on you. >> I don't know. Her boyfriend and stuff like that. >> I got the video. >> You want to press char? >> Is she the Is she got something to do with this? >> She's the friend. I actually spoke with her earlier. Are you wanting to press charges against her? >> No, just that I don't know. >> What? What are you wanting us to do then? >> I'm just trying to get my stuff out the apartment. >> Okay. So, you want us to go up there, see if you can get your stuff, and be done with it >> without her trying to put her hands on it. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Okay. You guys don't live together? >> No. >> You have a key to get in? >> I think your boyfriend's holding that door open for you. >> What? >> He's holding that door open. >> She was just out here. >> What's your girlfriend? >> Who do you think she'll pick up to open the door? >> Uh, she doesn't have a phone. >> Police. Look at my face. Look at hers. Look at hers. >> She just wants to get her stuff and read. Is that okay? >> Yep. >> Did you have a complaint? >> I need my phone. >> Where's your phone? >> I don't know. >> Bye. >> Well, I tell you what. >> You know your phone number sometimes. Well, if you tell me your phone number, I'll try calling it. >> Oh, no. I found my phone. >> You found it? >> Yeah. >> All right, that's solved. Do you need that? >> I don't know. You were looking down. >> No, I don't. >> Okay. >> Is that everything? >> Who's her? >> When did that happen? >> Just out. Just now. That didn't happen just now. >> Just now. Yeah. >> Don't play the victim. >> You ain't [ __ ] >> You're a weird ass >> ma'am. Ma'am, please. We don't need that. >> Do you want to press charges? >> Yeah, I do. >> PRESS CHARGES ON. >> I WANT TO PRESS CHARGES ON YOU. >> OKAY. >> WHERE? YOU WANT TO BE A COP? THE FAMILY conflict became more apparent as both parties attempted to shift blame onto each other. The boyfriend's act of removing his belongings signaled a potential breakup. Alcohol may have been the catalyst, but it also exposed the girl's true traits, controlling tendencies, defiance, and a habit of taking out her anger on others. >> You're trying TO BE A COP. >> LOOK, SHE SHE DO NOT PUSH ME LIKE THAT. >> STOP. >> Do not push me like that, though. >> I do. When I'm telling you to stop, you need to stop. >> BUT DO NOT PUSH ME LIKE THAT. >> OKAY. DON'T LISTEN. Don't walk up on me. >> Do not push me like that. >> Okay. So, I'm a police officer. YOU LOST YOUR MIND. YOU HAVE LOST YOUR MIND. >> OH, YEAH. You tripping. You're tripping. [laughter] >> I got handcuffs. >> No. >> I got >> No. This this police officer [laughter] >> Okay. >> No, >> I got cussed on. >> No, he's tripping. >> I got c I just got locked. >> No, he just pushed me. >> I just got locked. >> Why is this guy getting pushed? >> I don't need TO GO TO JAIL. >> YOU NEED TO STAND UP. >> I DON'T NEED TO GO TO JAIL. Why am I going to >> Her path to jail was clear. Shoving police officers left no room for her to claim victimhood. Angry and hurt over perceived betrayal, she redirected her frustration at law enforcement, exposing her impulsive nature and habitual reliance on emotion over reason. >> Slide back. >> Slide back for me. >> Slide back. >> I'm trying. She could face 1 year and 25 days in jail, fines up to $2,750, probation, and community service. On January 6th, 2025 at a McDonald's in Ohio, the entire restaurant froze when a woman shamelessly exposed herself in front of customers, including children. Let you get your shoes on before I squirt you out. >> It's cold out there. Is this her stuff? >> You're an absolute idiot. >> It was obvious from the jump that this woman was emotionally unstable. Her erratic behavior put officers on high alert. She started yelling, cursing out the staff, blaming everyone but herself, and showed signs she was spiraling out of control, both mentally and physically. >> Uh, negative. >> Okay. >> Not you, but the store. So, I take this back. >> That's fine. >> Not from them. >> Are these your jackets? >> 57. >> Get out the damn door, mother. >> Yo, is she getting like naked? Was Jennifer dealing with untreated mental illness, drugs, or a dangerous [music] mix of both? Refusing to leave McDonald's was just the opening act. On September 27th, 2023, police were called to an airport after a passenger went off at the gate, screaming at airline staff, filming without permission, and stubbornly trying to board a flight he'd already been denied. Well, like I explained to him, if you don't sign it, then you're going to be physically taken to jail. >> Gotcha. So, you refusing the sign? >> What's your name? >> Officer Brooks 7452. The officer did everything by the book, explained the violation, clarified the consequences, and gave her a chance to ask questions. But once she refused to sign, even after it was clearly explained, this moved beyond a warning and straight into arrest territory. I gave it to you two times, man. >> Okay. It had been simmering for a long time. >> Twisted my finger and I'mma fight that in court. >> So you >> That's really That really hurts my feelings. >> Stupid ass. You're on the raging trying ass. Gold digger. Gold digger. Gold digger. Gold digger. >> She's She's going to call us when she's done. She's still shook up, but at least the assistant manager is here to help her out now. So >> yeah, she was freaking out. Yeah. >> All right. You going to pull video? >> Uh, we can I can go back in and ask for that, too. They said they would be able to get video on Monday when the main manager comes in. >> Let's get her to the other. >> All right. You can come on out. >> Right over here. Couple doors. Hello. >> Back up. >> Hello. >> Hello. I tried to do the best I could with >> Okay. >> I didn't get to see what happened when you guys started, so I didn't get >> Well, no. Like I said, just just write what you have. Um, >> she was hostile when she came in. She was already on one. She's been being like that a little bit lately. So, >> I just need you to sign right here yet. >> I don't know. I guess she's been My manager said she's been being about the government lately because she was the one that was on the hood of her car down there at the square doing that [ __ ] >> That was >> Yes. >> And then um so she's already been because of CPS and stuff like she's already been I mean I dealt with them too, dude. Like don't get like that though. It's pointless, >> right? >> Like >> my boss is going to get a hold of you. >> Okay. >> So, since I'm just an employee, everything goes through. >> In the end, the woman was arrested and charged with petty theft and resisting arrest. If [music] convicted, she could face up to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine, not to mention [music] a criminal record and a permanent ban from the store. Thought skipping the bill was bold. On June 1st, 2023, police were dispatched to the scene after reports of an assault following a traffic altercation. A woman was accused of attacking a man with a blunt object after a heated argument. But what unfolded next took this incident far beyond your average fender bender. >> Fox kids in the back seat. >> Yeah. >> The kids in the back seat. >> Are you pressing charges? >> I want to. Yes. >> What What was you hit with? >> I think it was the iron. I don't She saw it. I didn't see it. I didn't expect it, but she got out of her car, came over, and then she started throwing stuff at the car, my truck. >> So, I got out and I said, "Get back into your car." >> And that's when I started getting hit. >> Okay. So, you got hit with battery. You don't know. If you were to see this person again, could you? >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. Whatever she swung at me, it was on a rope and it went around my It went around my neck. >> You said where they came in here, you guys stopped. So when we came >> and that's the only thing you have is >> the roadway off the roadway. >> And you said she was throwing stuff at your car. >> Yeah. >> Do you have any damage on your car? >> I don't know. I didn't even close. >> And whatever she had had a rope and it went around me. So she got me around the neck also. >> Jesus Christ. >> Why did you guys start arguing? Like when did it start on her? >> She said I was too close to her. We were stopped. >> So >> where were you stopped? at the exit at the light. >> Uh, that's Conroy by I4. >> Yeah, we were getting off I4 to turn right to come into here. >> Do you have your ID on? >> Yeah. >> Oh, >> how old were they? Were they young? >> We got her. >> Oh, you got her. >> Yeah. Uh, I'm probably going to do a show right now. Um, everybody. >> Based on the victim's statement and visible injuries, it was clear this wasn't accidental. She stepped out of her car and struck him with what appeared to be a weighted object on a cord. An act that screamed intent and posed [music] serious danger. Officers quickly tracked her down and moved in for questioning. >> I called the back window. >> What's up everyone? >> I called Dan because I this me and this man had an altercation. Who? >> Um pointing over there. >> No, I'm pointing over there because I just y'all can exit over there. So, um, me and this man had an altercation. He was behind me and he hit the back of my car a little bit. So, I got out the car to check it or whatever, but I can see him through the car like going like this, cussing me out and stuff. >> I'mma tell him get back in my car, attempt to get back in my car. He got out of his car and started cussing me out. He was He was right here by my car cuz I was trying to >> Where did this happen at? >> Right there on Cornrow Road in front of the super target. like when you get off the interstate and the the target like right there in front of you like it's like a um >> it's like you know traffic or whatever like >> the ramp before you turn on the car or you on >> Yeah. So I was turning right. >> Okay. >> So as I was turning right or whatever he hit the back of my car a little bit. So I got out the car like I told you. I was checking or whatever. And then back to what I was saying. He was right here by the car when I was attempting to get back in the car and he was like, "Oh, you're not going to do nothing." All in my face like we was about to kiss. And we fought like he hit me and we was fighting >> on the off ramp. >> Huh? >> Over there at the offramp. So, did you see any damage to your vehicle? >> Cuz I didn't really see anything. >> No, I couldn't even look because when we was at the light when we was at the light and >> No, when we was at the light, I didn't even get out and look behind before me and him started arguing. Like when he seen me already get out the car, he was already down. and try to like cussing me out and stuff. >> It's crazy how you have to argue with people on the road that you don't even know. >> You never going to see them again. >> The woman attempted to spin it as self-defense, but her story didn't add up. Her statement shifted with every question, a red flag that she was shaping her answers based on what she thought police wanted to hear. And the fact that she initiated the confrontation, getting out of her car and arguing in front of her children, spoke volumes about poor emotional regulation and a tendency toward aggressive outbursts. >> Just tell me your version of the events. >> Okay. So, while we was getting off the exit, um the red the light had turned red because it was green and then you know cars be coming through this way. So when the cars was coming um that way or whatever, you know, I'm stopped at the light or whatever and he um kept jerking up on my car. So I felt like him bump my car. So I got out of the car and like I'm like, "You don't see the red light?" Like the hell? So that's when he was cussing me out through the car. >> Who got out the car first? >> I did to check the back of the car. >> It's always >> Well, I didn't see any type of damage on his vehicle and I rolled up and I see any type of damage on the vehicle. >> Right. But at the light, you could see him kept jerking up. If you watch the camera, you'll see. But just because he's moving up doesn't mean >> But if I feel somebody tap me from behind, I have the right to check my car. And also, if somebody tap you from behind, sometimes it always don't leave a damage. Sometimes it don't leave a damage because I don't accidentally tap the car and it didn't leave a damage. >> I'm going ask you this. Uh, sorry, brain fart. Uh, sorry, sorry, sorry. So, at what point did you hit this man with iron? >> I didn't hit him with no iron. >> What? What did you use? What was in your hand? >> It was my tire pressure thing because he he got in he got in my car and it's in my front seat. My tire pressure because my tires keep going down. It's a tire pressure that I keep in my car because I have a nail on the passenger side. And he was in my car. So, I hit him with it. Yes. Cuz he was on the floor. >> Who put hands on who first? He put hands on me and I got and I have his um what is his little badge thing that he had in my car? He he dropped that in my car. That's how you know he was in my car. Why would his badge be in my caroulevard? >> So we both could go to jail like >> because he was in my car and Yeah. I understand why why you would use a >> because he would attack me. Why my kid? >> She eventually admitted to using a tire pressure gauge, not a flat iron as initially rumored. Her tone shifted from anger to fear, insisting she felt her personal space was violated and had to defend herself and her kids. But that fear looked more like panic after realizing she may have gone too far. >> That's not no weapon that I was using or nothing like that. That is for my tire. It's a tire pressure. It wasn't no iron. Tire pressure thing. >> Can I see this tire pressure thing? >> Sure is. >> Can you change this code to a 22, please? >> Is this your car or your mother's? >> This mine. My auntie name is on it, too. >> Okay. >> Cuz she's a co- >> with another male. Correct. >> There's two registers. One male, one female. >> Huh? You heard me? >> No. >> Yes. >> Well, no. He ain't following me in the car when me and him was hard down like face to face fighting and well whatever. Like he was pushing my >> Where did he hit you first? >> He hit me right here. But I don't know how. Like >> you have any other marks on you? >> No. >> I mean, you don't got to take off your clothes. >> No, I say it's red right there. I'm trying to get everybody's story. I wasn't there. >> No, because I know he has I know he have in his car and y'all going to take her side. Well, I don't know what's going on. And you don't even know what the independent witness is saying. And what if the independent witness is favoring you >> and you talking all this? >> No, I I'm I'm not even >> But this is But this talk about you don't even know. But you don't even know what's going on right now. I'm just saying >> because y'all not even trying to listen to my kids and I know that he have an adult witness so that you know, right? >> Like did he put his hands and he hit you or he did he touch you or >> he pushed me? He pushed you like >> Yeah. And like I pushed him back. I don't even I don't even remember like had my fist balled up hitting this man. I didn't ball my fist up hitting this man. I probably scratched him or something, but I didn't ball my fist up hitting him. Like I was not trying to fight him. >> Understood? >> Like it's a man. When I seen him literally like when we were face to face, I'm like punch you. >> I got you. >> Okay. So you're So you're telling me that you're telling me that the iron happened when you were in the vehicle? >> That's not an iron. >> Whatever. This this [laughter] thing this thing happened while you were in the vehicle. You used it because he was in your vehicle. >> Yes. >> So, you didn't pull this man into your vehicle or anything like that? >> No, I didn't pull him into no vehicle. His wife even came and got him out of the vehicle. She was telling him, "Stop. Stop." >> Police reviewed the conflicting statements. Compared to the victim's account and witness testimony, hers didn't hold up. All evidence pointed to her as the aggressor, initiating physical violence and exceeding any reasonable definition of self-defense. Officers decided to arrest her on the spot. the tacos. >> So, who who's coming? >> Oh, my god, brother. >> Is he over here? >> Yeah. So, I'm going to jail. >> Yeah. Um I don't want to take you to jail, but um I have >> Can I just tell him to get kids down? >> Yeah. I got I'm going to take you. >> I was about to say, can I just tell him though? I I wouldn't make a scene. >> But what am I going to jail for? I explain everything to you in just >> Am I going to have a blind? >> Yeah. >> So, I'm going to jail for real. >> Yeah. >> Is the man going to jail? >> No. >> Wait, what? Oh my god. I cannot go to jail. Oh my god. I'm really going to jail. >> Yes, ma'am. >> You got nothing on your head? >> No, I don't. Please, can you please can you on under this robe? No, I don't. Can you please >> Can you please sell my cop brother? >> We will bring We're not leaving. We're not leaving right now. I don't picture the car. >> Okay. >> Step in here. I'll go get him right now. Have him come over. Okay. >> Okay. Please bring the window. >> I'm sorry. It's not. >> What's up, bud? >> You ready? >> What you watching? >> What you watching? >> Yeah. Mr. Hamilton, do you live close to here? >> 1 hour. Did you say >> no? >> 30 minutes. I was going to see if it's easier for you to just take her car to your house and then come back and get your car, but it's a car seat and everything. But >> I'm going to take the car seat, too. >> Okay. >> She was taken into custody and charged with assault, aggravated by her use of a blunt object and the fact that [music] her children witnessed the entire event. If convicted, she could face up to a year in jail or probation, fines, and a no contact order with the victim. On March 17th, 2024, [music] police were dispatched to a Waffle House after a 911 call reported a physical altercation involving multiple people and a possible firearm threat. What started as just another fight quickly turned into pure chaos. And what followed wasn't your average Saturday night drama. >> What's going on? >> Who's got the weapon? >> Who's got the weapon? >> Nobody did anything WITH A WEAPON. >> IT WAS JUST A FIGHT. LIKE EVERYBODY WAS >> OKAY. All right. You see me fre You see me freaking out? Just somebody sick? >> I was told somebody has a gun, so nobody has a gun right now. >> No. >> All right. Has anybody here been hurt? >> No. >> Are you guys Are you guys all right? >> I think everybody's okay. >> Like I said, everybody just like >> part of the car. >> I was not driving. >> She's saying it was a red car. >> I swear to God it did. >> I think I think they ran to the >> Thank you. God. Go, go to the north. >> Well, no, wait, wait, hold on, hold on one second. Were you part of the the ruckus or whatever? >> All right, so just tell me just everyone everyone's real elevated. Let's dial it down just one second. What's going on? What happened? >> So, we were inside eating. >> All right. >> I don't know what's that at all. >> They did. >> You just need >> my sho I had I had shoes on. I'm not ratchet. I'm not wide track. >> Okay. God, >> I'm not that person. >> I understand. >> I'm I'm a nursing school. Like, this is >> Sure. Sure. This is not my picture. >> All right. So, what happened? >> They ran >> my family. My trash family. That's what happened. >> But what what what occurred? >> I don't know what was said, but they ran their mouth in there and I gave my opinion. >> All right. Did anybody get hit? >> No. >> Nobody got hit. There was no physical fight. >> No assault, no domestic violence, no nothing. >> With conflicting stories flying around, officers stayed neutral and laser focused on identifying the real threat. One woman insisted she wasn't causing trouble, just a heated argument. No violence involved, but her version didn't hold up for long. >> I chased her, >> you guys pull up. >> So, you think that means she can just >> walk away? >> No, I don't. No, I don't. But you run the camera back because at the end of the day, they're in there running their mask. They're asking us to come outside. >> So, what's your question right now, though? >> All wrong. >> What do you think? So, where where we're at is the police got called, an investigation as an investigation gets conducted. It's not police call or get called and then you go, "Oh, you know what? We're leaving." >> They don't pick and choose. We're here. >> I don't say that. I'm just asking, can I take her home? >> Nobody's heard as far as I know. But they are saying for sure somebody was waving around a weapon and banging it on the window. 9 mm and it had a silver uh >> they have cameras on the inside and outside. >> My brain >> silver slide on the frame slide. Yeah. Okay. >> Are you able to write a statement? >> The story of what happened. >> I'm getting what I see. >> Are you able to write one? >> Yes. I'm I'm going to write what I see. >> Yeah. That's what I want you to do. >> This is all the This is nothing but maybe lemonade and water. >> Do what you want. That's fine. I'm not worried not worried about the alcohol right now. I promise you. Okay. >> I can promise you I'm going to write exactly what I see. All right. Here you are. >> Whoever left was who we were arguing with. >> That's who was driving. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> We were I don't know who I was arguing with. I walked out the bathroom. I'm going to ride it on here. But I walked out the bathroom. They were saying something. By the time I got back over there to my table, it just it was a big it was a big fight. >> Okay. >> It never I don't >> That's fine. Just as soon as you can write this down and we can get some info from you, we'll we'll get you on your way. >> Which was mixed. I'm not. My mom's boyfriend's black. I don't give a [ __ ] about what color they were, but I was sitting right here. >> I would have I would have fought her. >> Okay, that's fine. >> I'm I'm not going to lie to you guys, but she was sitting here trying to intimidate me. I don't know what it was, but by the time I got out here, she was out the car. >> What'd she say to you exactly? >> I don't know. >> Okay. >> I was inside. She was out here. Um, by the time I got out here, someone was pushing her to the car. I don't know. If I could tell you, I would be harassed if she was out here. >> At this point, the gun was still unaccounted for, but a seemingly random detail that it might be pink and girly bon suddenly became the biggest clue in the room. A throwaway comment that cracked the case wide open. >> That's my cousin, Gregory. >> Were you threatened with a firearm or anything? >> No, that's why I was lo I don't know who was up, but they had said something about a firearm. I was so lost. >> Did you Did you see the weapon? >> It was just a little bit of argument. I mean, it was arguing. I'm not going to say a little bit. >> Had a weapon. >> Whoever they were arguing with. >> Them little kids had a weapon. >> Yeah. Not I'm not talking about your No, no, no, no. But yeah, them little them little people that got in the car that these people even here in here witnessed it. They said they don't want to get in it though because you know >> they're not. >> Can you describe the gun? >> Did you see it? >> It was just It was black. I don't know if it was >> It was a girly looking gun. I >> In what way? >> Silver. It was girly. >> Okay. >> It was a woman's gun for sure. Just a whole bunch of [ __ ] arguing, everything going on. >> Yeah, it was too much. >> The first altercation with the same people. I can tell you. >> You have met them. >> You have met them. >> They're my family. >> The people that >> Half of them are my family. >> The people about the people that I got into it with. >> Thank you. >> Out here. They Okay. The people that were out here were >> We don't know them. >> I don't know them, but they're friends with the girl that I was friends with. Okay. >> I can No, I don't know them. >> But they were friends with the girl that I'm friends with. Well, you can get on hers and look at her friends. >> I can look and maybe try to show you, but I cannot promise that I know you name. >> I don't know if anyone knows, but you know that was her, right? >> That what? >> She's the one that had the the the pink pistol with her. >> You just looked at the camera. >> No, I was right there. I was the one that was and she banged it up against the glass. >> This female? >> Yes. Unless someone else took it. You're certain. >> I'm I'm about in front of head about 90 95%. >> Then the confrontation hit a boiling point. When questioned directly, the woman first denied everything. But cornered by the facts, she finally admitted to having the gun. Classic retreat move. And even then, she still tried to dodge accountability. But I didn't pull it out. >> Or not. >> Okay, ma'am. I got to ask you a question. And I got to tell you, will you be honest with me? >> All right. You promise? >> Yes, I promise. >> All right. Um, so I have a witness here now currently on scene at the Waffle House who has not had a sib of alcohol who claims you're the one that has the the firearm in your purse. Or you did. >> I did. >> And you do you do fit the description? Long dark hair. >> So, do you have the gun? Are you the one that had the gun and was waving it around? >> I didn't wave it around, but I did have one. Yes. >> I don't know if it's still in my purse. I I just got my purse handed to me. >> Did you take it out at any time? >> No, but they were up here. They were in these closer spots. I don't know who they were exactly. They were sitting up closer. I don't know what set it off. I'm 21. I I live in Northridge. I live close to Northridge. Yes, I carry a firearm. It's not illegal, but it's, you know, you have to have a CCW, but you also don't. Yes, I understand them. I have to have a couple drinks, but you know where I live. >> It's no excuse. But >> But you're not You didn't take it out and wave it around, banging on the glass or anything like that. >> No. No. They were sitting here banging banging on the windows. They were sitting in here arguing with everyone. >> You can you can I don't know if they have You can ask them. I can't say >> the cooks thinks it was her that had the weapon. >> I cannot say with 100% confirmation that that's what I was just about to say was I was talking to the cooks because I exited out the back end when I heard there was a gun. I couldn't see it. I never laid eyes on it. I can't say 100% certainty about it. But allegedly from the cook's perspective and from the Waffle House staff was >> she clung to the victim card till the bitter end, blaming her friends, strangers, even the Waffle House itself. But when officers actually found the pink gun, just like witnesses said, all the excuses collapsed like a bad alibi. >> All right, ma'am. >> We need to get off the phone. >> Okay, I got to go. >> Let me take that for you. >> Love you. Bye. >> I'm going to probably go to go to jail. >> One second. >> Michael, I'm being detained. I'm being detained. >> I'm being detained. Love you, B. Can you give this to my mom? >> You don't want to take it? >> Can you give it to mom? >> You can take it with you. Go ahead. >> Want to take it? >> Are you guys arrested? >> Yeah. >> Gun's right here. >> It's exactly as they described. I don't want to touch it right now, but 151. >> Yeah, that would be it. That'll be it. >> No, no, don't even. No, just shut the [ __ ] up and we'll fill out a statement. >> No, just >> are you detaining? >> Okay, just stop, bro. >> I'll talk to you. We can calm down. >> I'mma calm down. But what are you detaining? Mom, are you >> She's intoxicated and she has a firearm in her purse, which is exactly the firearm described by anybody here in the restaurant. >> They cannot do nothing. >> Pull cameras. Pull cameras. >> Pull cameras like an [ __ ] to them. It's It's just their job, bro. Chill out. >> Watch her watch her What's her bond? >> She doesn't have one. >> Okay. It just happens to be the one everybody described here. >> And it's not pink. Run the cameras back. >> Okay. >> And they >> Thanks for your input. Have a good night. >> Okay. GIVE ME MY DAUGHTER'S PURSE. THAT GUN'S IN MY NAME. >> You're this close to also going to jail. >> Let's go to the car, bro. God damn. >> Take me. >> Have a good night, guys. >> I'm sorry. Do you want to fill out a statement about what happened in your lip? >> Good, man. I'll just go to court. >> Okay, >> it's all good. >> In the end, she was charged with three offenses. [music] Disorderly conduct, possessing a firearm while intoxicated, and inducing panic. The penalties, fines, up to 6 months in jail for the weapon charge, and potentially [music] 5 years if found guilty of causing serious public panic. A dumb meal cost her a serious charge. But what's worse, on May 5th, 2024, near Metro West, officers spotted a vehicle blatantly crossing a median marked with a clear do not enter sign. An obvious traffic violation. But what should have been a routine stop quickly escalated into something far more complicated. >> Morning. How you doing? You understand the reason why I stopped you this morning, ma'am? Okay. >> You can't Excuse me. >> I'm bored. Can you see? Let me see your driver's license. I pulled you over cuz you came out of Metro West and you cross a medium when you're not supposed to and there's a sign there clearly says do not enter. >> Driver's license. >> What says do not enter? >> Driver's license. >> What says do not enter? >> Driver's license. >> Tell me what says do not enter. >> Call 47. Can I get a couple questions? >> Now you're doing it too much and I got somewhere. >> Driver's license, please. >> I don't got it. >> You don't have it? >> All right. Shut off the car. >> Shut off the car >> for what? >> If you don't listen to my order, I'm going to detain you in handcuffs. Shut off the car now. >> Okay, go ahead. I'm pregnant. I'M PREGNANT AND I'M PREGNANT. OKAY, you touch step on step resisting. Stop resisting. Stop resisting. STOP RESISTING. OKAY, STOP RESISTING. STOP RESISTING. STOP RESISTING. LEAVE ME ALONE. >> She thought claiming to be pregnant would soften the cops. But pregnancy isn't a shield against the law. And the sad irony, the more she resisted, the clearer it became. She wasn't even protecting the baby she was using as an excuse. It's not going to grab me alone. >> Y'all better leave ME ALONE. >> STOP RESISTING. STOP RESISTING. Stop resisting. >> Take me out for what? >> Stop resisting. Cuz you're resisting a lot. >> Resisting for what? I DIDN'T DO THAT, >> BRO. I'm going to punch y'all in your face cuz Y'ALL OKAY. I promise you. Cuz I do. >> Stop. Stop. >> No. Cuz I didn't do nothing wrong. I DON'T STOP. STOP RESISTING. Stop resisting. Stop. Stop. Stop resisting. >> YOU'RE HURTING MY ARM. YOU'RE HURTING my arm. >> Stop resisting. You're hurting my arm. >> Stop resisting. >> THE [ __ ] OFF ME. >> NOW you get charged resisting with violence. >> STOP. STOP. STOP. STOP. [screaming] STOP. RESIST. STOP. ASS. [screaming] >> STOP. Stop resisting. >> Let me stop. >> Go. >> I will tase your [ __ ] ass. So shut THE BACK. >> STOP RESISTING. >> There wasn't [ __ ] THAT SAID. Y'ALL JUST BOUGHT THIS AND I GOT NOWHERE TO BE. >> Stop resisting. >> You're going YOU'RE HURTING MY ARMS. HEY, >> LISTEN. >> Stop resisting. >> SITTING IN YOUR [ __ ] FACE. I DON'T GIVE A [ __ ] >> STAY BACK. LET ME DOWN. LET ME GO. >> Y my leg. LET GO MY LEG. I CAN WALK. >> What started as a simple traffic ticket spiraled into a full-blown criminal mess. Her emotional outburst suggested someone feeling cornered, lacking both calm and coping skills. It wasn't a reaction. It was an explosion. LET GO OF MYING LEG. I [screaming] CAN WALK. >> STOP. YOU GUYS ARE PUSHING ON MY STOMACH. LET GO OF MY LEG. I CAN WALK. >> LET GO OF MY LEG. WALK. WAIT. You guys want a 43? >> No. You're 104. >> LET GO OF MY ARM. >> AT LEAST TWO MORE. >> LET GO OF MY [screaming] ARM. >> STOP. >> YOU GUYS ARE NOT LISTENING. I SPIT ON YOU. >> You're not listen. If you spit on [laughter] us, we get charged battery for ourselves. >> Stop. >> Stop. You caused all these problems. YOU DID. LET GO OF ME. >> STOP. YOU ALL DID. YOU DID, [ __ ] CALM DOWN. >> YOU DID. MY STOMACH. I'M [ __ ] PREGNANT. LET GO OF ME. >> STOP RESISTING THAT. I'M SO >> IF YOU'RE PREGNANT, THEN STOP MOVING AROUND. >> YOU LET ME GO. NOT TRYING TO SCREW MY FACE. YOU LET ME CHECK MY FACE. >> I DON'T give a HELL OF YOU [ __ ] LET ME GO. >> Traffic stops. You had an attitude. Didn't want to comply. >> I don't care. I don't have my license. I just came from home. >> Well, you know what? You would have had a simple verbal warning had you not showed your attitude like that. >> Too bad. You're going to jail now. >> I'M NOT GOING NOWHERE. I'M GOING TO [ __ ] BE. >> NO, YOU'RE GOING TO JAIL. >> DAMN. >> STOP PULLING ME. I'M COMING. I'M FOLLOWING YOU MULTIPLE [ __ ] TIMES. >> DAMN. LOCK IT AND PUT her in the car. >> Don't hurt my stomach. I'm not [ __ ] listening. I don't give a [ __ ] >> Get on the other side. >> Stop. Stop. >> Stop. STOP. IF YOU STOP. >> OKAY. WHAT IS THAT? TOUCH ME. YOU STUPID. >> BACK. Back up. >> [ __ ] LET ME >> LET ME. She ignited the entire confrontation herself over a basic traffic violation. And honestly, calling her foolish would be an insult to people who are actually foolish. >> Build it in. >> Take her in the car. >> Might have to hobble her. >> Give her a minute. >> Yeah, you guys will follow when you take her. Um, she's claiming she's pregnant. >> Oh, wait. Stop kicking the back of my car. >> I don't care. I need to go. >> Well, you're going to jail now. >> Yes, you are. And if you fight in jail, they're going to safe book you. >> Simple traffic stop. >> What's the location? >> Brother Street. >> Yep. >> So, we have to hold her legs. I CROSSED THE THING AND I PUT MY SIGN ON EVERYTHING. >> There's a sign that says clearly do not pass it. >> Right there say that. >> You can fight it in court. >> You never say that. It said that nowhere. >> Yeah, it does. >> No, it did not. I made a U-turn. I made a U-turn. >> No, you didn't, man. Cuz I saw you. I saw you from where I was at. I DON'T WANT TO. >> IF YOU DON'T IF YOU don't if you don't stop acting, you're going to be rip. >> Even now, she stubbornly denies everything. Despite the evidence, she insists she was wrongly targeted, desperately clinging to the role of the victim. But playing the victim doesn't erase the facts. It just makes things worse. But I didn't I just literally made a U-turn. >> You didn't make a U-turn. >> You did not make a U-turn, ma'am. >> I made a U-turn at the like right there. >> No, you didn't, man. Um when police >> eventually she was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, failure to comply, use of force during apprehension, threatening an officer, and refusing to identify herself. If convicted, she faces 1 to 5 years behind bars, fines, and a permanent criminal record. [music] On January 12th, 2025 in Ohio, police were called to a hotel after a woman named Lindsay refused to leave her room well past checkout time. Despite multiple reminders and even a grace period, what should have been a simple escort turned into something nobody expected. >> Was 11:40. Then I go, the se come outside. >> Yeah, no worries. >> Lindsay, it's the police. >> [laughter] >> Lindsay, it's the police. >> Hi. Check out's 10:30. >> I was unaware that it was 10:30. >> Okay. Well, when you probably signed the contract, it probably said on there how long and when you have to be out of here, right? >> Okay. >> So, you talked to the manager, right? You said your ride is supposed to be here at 11 o'clock, right? So, you need to get your stuff together and step out. All right. >> She has 5 minutes. >> You want to give her 5 minutes? >> Oh, yeah. Yes, sir. No problem. I have nothing problem saying that it can take 10 minutes, but then she's out. >> Okay. 10 minutes. Okay. >> Yeah. Nothing problem. Lindsay, you have 3 minutes otherwise we're going to come in and remove you. >> See that needle hanging up? >> No, you're we're done now. Get your stuff. Put your pants on now and then get your stuff. >> I'm not violating anything. You're violating your rental of this room. You're supposed to be out here at 10:30. >> I was never informed of what time I >> Okay, maybe you should have read the contract that you signed. >> Okay, >> put your clothes on and get out. >> You don't have an expectation of privacy. >> You do not have an expectation of privacy in a hotel room. >> Let's go, Lindsay. It's time to go. It's either you either go willingly or going to go to jail. Officers approached calmly, giving Lindsay every chance to leave on her own. But she sat there half-dressed, glued to the TV, completely ignoring them. When defiance turned to flatout refusal, they had no choice but to step in. >> All right, stop. >> Time to put my clothes on. >> Yeah, close the door so I can put my clothes on. >> I'm trying to put my clothes on. >> No, you're not. >> No, you weren't. >> I am. Stop. >> I'm trying to put my clothes on. >> No, you weren't. >> Yes, I am. >> You have a cuff on one of them or nothing. >> No. >> Okay. >> I'm trying to put my clothes on. >> What are you doing? I'm trying to put my clothes on. >> Can I put my clothes on? I go home. I have my friend trying to My friend is trying to pick me up. You still got to gather up your stuff and go. You haven't gathered up anything. >> Who's that? >> I All my stuff is gathered up. >> Do you have anything illegal in this room? >> No. >> You had plenty of opportunities to get your stuff together and you did not. You had plenty of time. >> I got my stuff together. >> You didn't put on pants. You didn't do anything you needed to get out of the residence or essentially the place. >> So, you're going to be going to jail for trespass and whatever else we find in this. Yes, you will be. >> Yes, you will be. No. Stop. >> Stop moving and I will let you relax. But you keep twisting and pulling doing this all craziness. >> I have I have a good job. >> Then what are you doing here? >> You made a bad decision. >> She refused to put on pants even after being offered help. But then of course came the complaints and resistance. The second officers tried to search her for safety reasons. Lindsay exploded. An outburst that screamed emotional instability likely fueled by drugs or deeper mental health issues. >> Yeah. >> Okay. We'll grab your pants for you and help you put them on >> here. Put your leg in. Put your leg in. >> We're not going to keep playing games. >> Test your respect for yourself. >> I'm not doing anything wrong. >> You are. >> Put your other leg in. >> What am I doing wrong? >> Put your other leg in. >> Do you have anything shoved in your bra? >> Huh? >> I I want my thumb. >> Do you have something shoved in your bra? >> I want my thumb. Okay, I think you're good. >> Yeah, >> get up. [crying] >> She used her full body weight to make it harder to move her, physically resisting as they tried to get her into the squad car. Once inside, she started kicking and thrashing. And with pills found on her, the full picture started to come together. A total loss of control mentally and physically. >> Your car. >> Yeah. >> No, you're not. >> Get in the car. >> Not bad. just rearranged it for you. Put your feet in there. Right there. Now, put your other foot in there. My set. >> You don't need your socks with flip flops. Now, go this way. >> And myself. >> Go this way. >> My socks. >> This way. >> I'm not doing >> Come on. One foot for the other. It's all right. >> My stuff is all >> I got you. Sit up there. Uhoh. Why am I going? You're >> not listening. That's what you're doing. >> I'm not doing anything, >> man. You don't get to the back of this wagon. Let's go. >> Lindsay, stand up and get inside there, please. >> Lindsay, just follow his business. >> Get in there. You're going Oh. Oh, the cuff bag. Get bag. Because she wouldn't stay still, Lindsay was transferred to another vehicle. But the chaos didn't stop. She began screaming for her mother, lying in a dangerous position, forcing officers to check on her well-being. And right then, she launched a kick at another cop. She wasn't just resisting, she was unraveling. >> Get your foot out of there. Hey, Lindsay. >> Come on. Let's go. Step out. You proved your point. Let's go. You able to get out of there? You can't move my foot. >> Don't be kicking people. All right. Ready? >> My foot. >> Well, listen. You got yourself in this situation, right? >> My foot. I was just trying to move my foot. >> You were just trying to move your foot. Here. Listen. You're going to have to help me. >> I was trying to move my foot. >> We're going to get you out of here. Okay. >> Can I go home? >> No. >> Bend your knee. That's why you can't move your foot. >> I was just trying to go home. >> Oh my gosh. >> Oh. Um. No. Stop. >> Can I go my >> Can I go home? Put your Put your shoe on. >> We are way beyond that right now, Lindsay. This is ridiculous. >> Can I go home? >> No. >> I wasn't doing anything wrong. >> Doing anything. >> And then face down. They're killing. >> Oh, it's not even set up. >> Don't ask. What >> is the reason for being hard? >> Because you were kicking and you couldn't sit up. I was not I was just in that car not doing a thing. >> Can I ask you a question? >> No. No, you can't. >> In the end, Lindsay was booked for trespassing, [music] resisting arrest and drug possession. If convicted, she could face months or even years behind bars plus fines, and a permanent criminal record. [music] Her fate depends on prior charges, how severe her resistance was, and the type of drugs found. On September 3rd, 2024, officers were called to a Planet Fitness after a woman began causing a disturbance and refused to leave. Despite being asked multiple times, her erratic behavior raised serious [music] safety concerns. And as it turns out, those concerns were completely justified. >> Go check the record cuz you're being discriminated. >> Central, I need some backup. >> Back up. I fear for my life. Put it down. Back up. You want the umbrella? I just bought IT FROM GOODWILL. YOU CAN HAVE IT. >> JUST SETTLE DOWN. >> YOU >> JUST SETTLE DOWN. >> What you mean? You coming at me like a threat. He's disrespecting me. >> Just want to find out what's going on. >> Back up. >> What's your name? >> Back up. >> What's your name? >> Lois. >> Lois, we we got to go. They don't want you in here. >> Weren't you the same one following me from the Goodwill? >> I wasn't following you. >> So, what' you call? You said, "Ma'am, right?" >> They Yes, they called here. >> Why did they call what? >> They called Planet Fitness call. >> And Planet Fitness Call or did the Goodwill call? Goodwill called first, but then you left. So that's cool. >> Why did I come there to the Goodwill? Did they tell you that? >> No. >> Okay. Why didn't you figure it out? >> Because you left, >> right? Because I can't I have business to handle here. >> Okay. Because he I talked to battalion commander. >> Okay. >> A battalion. Do you know what a battalion commander is? Where are your ranks, sir? What is your rank? >> Just a deputy. >> Okay. >> About as low as you can get on the pole. >> I'm a trailblazer. Michigan. I have a rank. I play professional golf. >> Upper peninsula. >> Huh? >> UP. Upper peninsula. Michigan. We're in Michigan. >> Close to Canada. >> I'm sorry. >> Close to Canada. 15 minutes from Canada. Walking distance. >> Okay. Look at the you can you can look and see my records. I really want my umbrella. I came over here a hotel across the street because my sister took my house and now I'm homeless and my son is in jail because you know his wife friends give him some. I don't even know if they give it to him. They found it in the woods. Who knows where the came from but I pray he wasn't using it. >> What was your first name again? >> Could you tell me that again please? >> Did the goodwill tell you what my first name was? >> They did not. They didn't know you. >> When someone walks into the gym wearing a wide-brimmed hat, you know it's about to get weird. But this wasn't just weird on This was next level. A black Irish Portuguese female Navy sergeant/professional golfer. Yeah. The officers clearly weren't prepared for this level of delusion. >> You come from >> I believe it's Scandinavia. >> Where? Well, >> well, actually, I don't really know if I'm in Africa, if I'm in America. Where do the Joey come from? Is the joey a kangaroo? Is the lion a lion? Okay, so I'm not crazy. >> 104. How close is the postal unit? >> Uh, you know, I was tased three times and I >> That's an angel right there. He's over 6 feet tall. Good. You're looking good, guy. I'm glad you came to the gym to meet one because anybody can buy a police uniform and dress up >> and buy one of those off Amazon. >> That's illegal. >> I don't know. But they're doing it. They're doing it. I've seen several people in establishment establishments that I've been to doing it. >> All right. That's illegal. I've been in contact with Navy officers. >> He's been 22 years in the Navy. >> Were you in the Navy? >> I've trained Navy. Yes, I've trained Navy. I've trained Army. >> What rank were you in the Navy? >> I was a staff sergeant in the Navy, but I was almost a battalion commander in the Army. So, you know, um I have several ranks, you know. So that means that you have to give me your name or some of identification. Yes. >> You didn't give me your name. >> Yes, it is. >> Deputy Extra. >> Okay. You know, I have slave. >> Wait, let me let me finish. Okay. >> For generations like slave. >> Let me finish. >> Yeah. >> Huh? >> Let me finish. >> Thank you for your service. If you don't provide that information, it's obstructing and you can go to jail for >> I don't want to take you to jail. >> Well, let's let nobody go to jail. You just identify yourself. Nobody will go to jailating me. You you doing a racist thing. You're doing a racist card because you don't have no facts, but you just come after me because I'm a black woman and you know, don't do that. It's not right. It's not right. It's not right what you're doing to me. I am I paid I have paid since 2017. He told me to come during the day to get my information. >> She's refusing. >> I'm refusing. I'm trying to buy a house. >> It's likely this woman was dealing with mental health issues. And to their credit, the officers showed a remarkable amount of patience. But when her speech turned increasingly erratic and she lost all grip on reality, they had no choice but to intervene. Sometimes safety can't wait for an explanation. >> Several times she refused to identify. >> Yep. I was just waiting for you guys to get here. Come on. Go ahead. Okay. Go ahead. >> Now, >> y'all see this? >> Okay. All my stuff. Take me to home. >> Yeah. It's close to Alabama where that ship was off, right? That slave ship was uh 1870s, right? >> Get my phone, please. >> My son. I won't be able to talk to him. Look at all these white people watching. Who's your Who's your son? >> Like it's a cop. >> Who's your son's name? >> That's hers over there, too. >> That's hers. >> That you stupid idiot. And I'm not going to do it. God don't do it. You dumb. You black. You idiot. You're black. Look at your brown hair. Your brown eyes. You're Ireland. I'm Ireland. >> Uh me to follow you to the jail house. >> Uh I should be good. D. >> Okay. information the street. >> That's all right. My phone got Oh, I'm resisting. Y'all want to throw me up against the car? To do my underwears are wet because I just came from the hotel and I plan to get a swimsuit from the Goodwill cuz I spent over $270 at the Goodwill. I can't return anything back now. I've been donating. Where's my donation receipt? Cuz I haven't did my taxes for 3 years. They going to give me a house though. What? I have Tyler Davis's medical marijuana in my purse. This father is the owner of the Boo Brothers. Never mind. I don't have to tell nobody's nothing. >> You want to move your car up room? Okay. I'm married here. We're going to go right here, darling. Okay. >> What's your room number, though? >> It's it's uh >> it's 4 417. >> 417. >> Yes. >> When asked to get into the car, she resisted. Not physically, but with words. You could see the internal struggle. One part of her clinging to fantasy, the other slowly realizing reality wasn't going to let her off the hook. >> You see anything in here besides a seat belt? >> All right. >> Anything illegal? >> Okay. >> I don't know what y'all going to put in there. Last time I got in, it was a whole tire because a lesbian girl reported and I still don't have my coke on my service dog. You don't see anything? >> Where's my service dog? >> Here, let's get in there, right? Since you don't want to go ahead and listen. I'm trying to help you out here. >> I'm trying to I don't know your rank. You don't have your rank either on, >> but I'm a battalion commander and that myself first class. >> Y'all just robbing me. Y'all robbed my son. Y'all robbed me. >> We're not robbing you at all. >> Savannah robbed my son. >> We're not robbing you. >> Said two years rent free. Didn't help with a bill. Oh, now I'm going to have those free meals free places to pay and maybe they'll refund my money. Maybe uh Mr. Jones. >> Trying to get you buckled up so that way you're safe going to the jail house. >> For what? What am I going to the jail house for? >> Refusing to leave. >> Leave where? >> The >> where I pay. >> You refusing to leave. >> I pay and I BETTER GET RID OF THIS GIRL with other [ __ ] Yeah, I don't blame you for both. >> Yay or nay, Corporal? >> How well? >> Huh? >> How well? Not Not very thorough. >> I'm just worried getting her out. She's going to fight us and then we got to put her on the ground and all that other stuff. >> These dreads, they wouldn't even let my business work for a month. >> Hey. Hey. All right. I've been so they don't want me to work in Fort Myers on my business because of my hair. I just don't start loving myself. I was priming my hair since I was 8 years old trying to look European. >> Listen, >> I was trying to look European to feeling ugly. And when I go to jail, they call me ugly. The white police officer call me ugly. >> I'm starting to love myself. I'm trying to love myself. And I don't have to have the best things. >> Here, I'm going to put this >> I don't have to have the best things. You know what I'm saying? >> Go back out. We got to pat you down real quick. >> That's okay. Whatever you want to do. I'm I follow I follow man. I love the men in this suit, but it's okay. >> She kept talking back, but slowly began to comply during a search. It was like her rational mind was clawing its way back to the surface, even as her delusions fought to hang on. A quiet war behind the eyes. >> Touching me. I'm not a lesbian. >> You don't have a name tag on. >> What's your name, ma'am? >> Bermudas. Call >> Bermuda Triangle. >> Yep. I don't know her cuz people get lost in the Bermuda Triangle. >> So, she's going to lose me, huh? >> Don't put no drugs on me because I don't know. We got everything on camera. >> Okay. All right. I'm here. >> And I don't want nobody injecting no drugs in me. And I don't want nobody injecting no drugs in my son. Never mind. I don't want to talk no more. That's probably >> I ain't got no man to protect me because the only man I got to protect me is locked up in jail. He's telling me to go to a homeless place. It's okay. Whatever y'all got to do, I don't care. I can't even get a section A house or anything like that. Yeah, my bra's wet, my panties is wet because I came from the country in where I paid that extra. I went through Price Line order. But even though they Hey, let's get back in first. Okay. >> All right. >> Who said my house that my grandmother gave me and now it's worth about $250,000? But I'm not even materialistic. I don't care. No more. >> Let's get in. Okay. Because this is >> I want to make sure my stuff is safe. If y'all can go pick up my stuff and bring it to the jail, it's okay. >> Where what's it again? >> It's Country in over there. >> What? 417 is the room number. >> Are you going to What you going to do? >> 417 is the room number. We're going to tell them to keep your stuff safe until you can pick them up. >> Yeah. That you're going you got to go to the jail house >> today. Which what? >> Trespass after one. We told you. >> What do you mean trespass after one? >> We tell you to leave and you don't leave. >> Oh, I I was educated in America, so I don't have. >> In the end, she was charged with trespassing [music] and obstruction. If convicted, penalties could range from fines to short-term jail, [music] depending on her history and how the court views the situation. The officer's patience here was remarkable, [music] but it raises a question. Is that level of restraint a model to follow? On June 9th, 2023, police responded to a domestic violence call involving a couple inside a vehicle. The girlfriend was accused of assaulting her boyfriend in a jealous rage after finding messages from another woman on his phone. And what officers uncovered was anything but simple. >> What happened? We were inside that bar down over there, but I said, "You can't drive. We got to call a cab, all this stuff." She said, "I'm driving." She saw like a girl texting me. Went crazy. She started punching the out of me. Sped off in the car. Came back here. Started beating the out of me. >> She was driving or you were driving? >> I never drove. >> So she pulled over here. >> Yeah. >> No, he's acting like he doesn't know what's going on. He knows what's going on. >> Okay. I'm just I don't know what's going on though. So can you >> He knows what's going on. >> Can you tell me what I want your side of the story though? Not his. >> He's acting like nothing's going on. Everything is going on. >> Okay. Okay. Well, what what happened tonight? >> He's like, "Oh, you're Mexican." I'm like, "I'm not." >> Okay. >> Like he's just trying to like make everything figure out to his way. >> Who Who was Who is he to you? >> He's my boyfriend. >> How long have you guys been dating? >> For like 4 months. >> 4 months. Okay. I mean, I know he's been >> No, I don't know what happened to him, but if I'm asking for an ambulance, he clearly is, too. >> Okay. My dad's from Sicily, Italy, and he's over here crying about all medic. I'm like, for what? >> Okay, >> let's see. And she kept opening the door, attacking him, and he just kept saying, "Stop. Help." >> She was coming around and >> she was coming around, opening the door, slamming the door. Yeah. >> I didn't see him at all be aggressive at all. All he kept doing was saying, "Stop. Stop. Stop." That's, you know. >> Okay. >> I didn't see him do anything. I didn't see him at all touch her. She was the And then when he finally got the door closed, she kept she got the door back open and then got in and was like getting getting in the car, attacking him, trying to pull him out of the car. And then eventually she was the one in the car and he was just out and I said, "You need to call the police >> where you where if I need you where you'll be'll be there. Okay, >> I'll be right here for um but I got to go over and work with Ania tonight." >> Okay. Yeah. If I need you, I'll come find you. All right. But thank you. >> All right. >> You got to You got to tell me your side or I got to we got to go. He was just like, "We can go. Just be okay." Like, be okay. >> What happened? Well, you guys are driving here. Got in argument. >> We didn't drive it. >> Where where you This is your vehicle. Where are you coming from? >> Mexic. Okay. So, you ate dinner in Mexico. All right. And then you guys got into some sort of argument. Okay. What happened after the argument? He said that I was feeling very like just not responsive to what's going on. I want you to do this. >> Officers began collecting statements to determine who initiated [music] the violence. The boyfriend's account was consistent and backed up by visible injuries and blood on his face. He claimed he was defending himself. Meanwhile, the suspect dodged questions, deflected blame, and couldn't give a straight answer. Tell us what happened. What happened in the car? >> You have to articulate what happened. >> I swear to God, I didn't know. >> I get it. You have to tell me what happened. >> I told him I was leaving. >> Tell me you're leaving. Okay. >> And he's like, "Oh, it doesn't matter. They didn't take you any." >> So, you ran in the car and you tried to leave. >> Yeah. >> What happened? He said stay with me. >> Oh no, he just verbally said stay with you. Or did he physically try to make >> No, he just said stay with me. >> Stay with you. >> Then what happened? >> I just wanted to leave. I can't. >> I can't leave. >> Why couldn't you leave? >> I can't. >> Why can't you leave? >> Why couldn't you leave the car? >> Yes, I can. >> I don't. Do you see where we're going with this? Because again, I know that you've been drinking, but evidence is showing you something that you physically. Okay? >> How did I hear? >> Listen, it doesn't matter. Evidence is showing telling you straight up. What we have right now is domestic batter. You guys in a relationship. >> How do we have domestic is a >> No, but really think about it. If you really want to put that on me, >> you got to I don't. >> So, how would you put that on? So evidence the evidence is pointed again. >> You have to articulate. >> I know it's upsetting and that's why I'm being a man to man to you. >> I don't have a choice in this. What's What is your date of birth? >> Her refusal to provide identification led to an additional charge for obstructing an investigation. And then came the real shocker. Officers discovered she had an active warrant, a 99, hinting at a possible criminal past. It raised red flags about her history, her behavior, and a potential pattern of violence. You >> going to give a story and you were the we determined you were the primary aggressor. >> I'm the aggressor. >> He's full of blood. You're full of blood on your shirt and he's all scratched up. If convicted, she could face up to one year in jail, fines, probation, and a lasting criminal record depending on the severity of the case and any prior offenses. So, when love turns into violence, who's the real victim? On January 12th, 2024, police were called to a Family Dollar after staff suspected a woman of shoplifting. She was moving suspiciously between [music] aisles, fiddling with small items like nail glue and lighters. And what happened next proved their instincts [music] were dead on. >> Hold on one second. >> Cool. Did you see Hey, did you see her take anything yet? >> Did she hide anything? >> She's been going in between the aisles and then she just came to ask me. >> But you thought she thought she hid something on. >> She had nails and some other stuff. >> Let me go talk. I saw the police show up. Kelly. >> The woman insisted she hadn't done anything wrong, but her anxious face and twitchy hands told a very [music] different story. With years of experience behind them, officers didn't need long to spot what she was trying to hide. >> I didn't steal anything. I checked my bag. Is >> an answer for you? I'm just going to leave. >> No, >> I'm sorry. I'm just going to leave. I'm sorry. I'm fine. I'm sorry. I'm fine. I don't have anything. I'm sorry. I don't have anything behind your back. I'm sorry. I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING. I'M SORRY. I'M SORRY. PLEASE. I don't have anything to do. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Hands behind your back. Put your hands behind. Ma'am, stop resisting. Stop your back. >> I didn't steal anything. >> Your friends left you though and they left with you. I wasn't going to steal. I literally had money on my card. I'll buy all everything. They parked all the way. >> We're the only one available in this town. >> Okay. >> Stealing. I didn't steal anything. >> Stop. >> I'm sorry. >> Right here. You made me run. >> I know. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> You made me tackle you. I know >> for no reason. >> I know. I'm sorry. >> Then came the classic panic move. She tried to bolt as if she could vanish inside a cramped dollar store, but reality caught up fast. After her failed getaway, she entered the next phase, begging, apologizing, acting like it was all a split-second mistake. Too bad the stolen items had already hit the floor. >> I had them in my hand. >> Wait up there for us. Thank you. >> I had them in my hand, sir. I was going to pay for all of them. I HAVE MY CARD. I will pay for bags back there for every single thing. I swear I have my card. >> I have my card. out paper everything. Sorry. I wasn't going to say >> Hey, guess what? You know what the time is? >> We're done past that, aren't we? >> I'm sorry. >> You had to run. Why? >> I'm sorry, dude. I was just nervous cuz I didn't know if my friends did something. I'm sorry. Why would they leave? >> I'm sure they did. >> Why would they leave me? >> Because they knew what you were going to do. >> I wasn't going to steal. I will pay for everything right now. I swear to God, I have my past that point. I already told you that. >> Please. Please. No. >> Please. I will pay for everything. I will pay for everything. >> How old are you? >> I'm 22. >> Let's be Let's be an adult right now. Okay. [snorts] Walk outside. >> I'm 22. Please >> walk outside. >> I will. [laughter] Please don't. You don't have to do that. I will. >> This is called the escort position. This is how we walk. Okay. You already ran on me once. I don't want you running on me again. >> I'm [snorts] sorry, but I pay for it all. >> Don't worry. I don't take it personally. >> Dude, I I didn't do anything. >> Yes, we did. [laughter] >> No, I didn't. It's the other way. >> This is the one. >> I didn't do anything. Please. I didn't steal anything. >> Come on. [laughter] I didn't [snorts] steal anything. >> I'm not from here. >> Pull off the stories like that. >> How you doing? >> Where are my friends? >> Oh, just fine. >> Please. >> Please take a seat. >> Hold on one second. Let's get a better shirt. So, what's the uh Where did the stuff pop out of? You like up in her shirt? You think? >> No, I just had a sweat. >> I just had them in my hand. >> No, you didn't. Your hands were clear. You were holding it back. >> No, I wasn't. My hands had my jacket on them. Okay. So, you're hiding them up underneath your jacket. Thank you. >> No, I had my hands underneath my jacket, sir. >> That's why either, huh? >> I told you I don't have an license or anything. >> Ever? No. You've never had a state ID anywhere in the state in the United States? >> No, I haven't got one yet. No. >> Ever? >> Like since between the ages of zero and 23, you've never gotten an identification card. >> I haven't, sir. I haven't. >> Okay. So, we're going to book you underneath Jane Doe and they're going to run your fingerprints. I've been homeless and I've been >> I've been on the streets when I was in Colorado and I came out here. >> How long you were in Colorado? >> Next came denial. She refused to give her name, claimed she never had an ID, said she was homeless from Colorado. A messy cocktail of excuses. But that kind of legal panic usually means one thing. She's hiding something bigger. A warrant, a criminal record, or both. >> You saw me from my friends. >> You're right. I did. And it had nothing to do with me though. >> And then you ran >> because you guys are stopping me for my friends. >> Yeah, because you were stealing stuff. >> And then you guys ARE THREATENING TO CALL TO TO TURN ME IN. AND FOR WHAT? For nothing. I didn't even leave the STORE WITH THIS STUFF. I WAS GOING TO PAY FOR IT. >> NO, you weren't. >> Yes, I WAS. I PROMISED ON EVERYTHING I LOVE, I WAS GOING TO PAY FOR IT. I HAVE THE MONEY. >> OKAY. >> You didn't even let me go to You should have wait till I came out the store. >> You ran before we even got to that place. I get that. BUT YOU GUYS ARE ACCUSING ME OF DOING [ __ ] BECAUSE OF my friends. >> No, I'm not. I'm talking TO YOU. >> NO, YOU STOPPED ME BECAUSE OF THE PEOPLE THAT I was with cuz they left. >> I told you they left. I didn't stop you because that's not I told you why I left. >> They said THAT THEY SEEN THE COPS. >> OKAY, HERE'S what we're going to do. We're going to book you underneath Jane Doe so we find out who you really are. >> For what? >> Run your fingerprints. >> What am I being booked under for? >> What? I already told you. >> I'm not I'm being charged with theft. I didn't even steal nothing. >> Retail theft. >> I didn't even steal anything >> and resisting arrest. >> I didn't even steal anything though. Please. When I if I find out you have warrants, >> please. >> You're going to be charged with a felony. Just so you're aware. >> I don't have warrants here. I've never lived here. Please. >> You have warrants in Colorado. >> No. >> Then who are you really? Because you're throwing a fit. >> I'm not real. I'm just so fed up with this stuff. And I'm getting stopped for no reason. >> You're not getting stopped for no reason. I've already explained that to you. We can keep talking in circles or we can be adults and talk like people. Do how what are you going to do? >> I already told you everything. I already told you everything. >> So, your name is Avery >> Portillo. >> Yes. >> Okay. Put your foot in. Put your foot in, please. >> Am I seriously going to jail? >> Can I make a phone call, please? >> When you get to jail. Yeah. >> No, I need to make a phone call. >> Put your foot in, >> please. >> Through witness statements, the lie started to unravel. This wasn't a misunderstanding. It wasn't impulsive. It was planned and badly executed. It was the two females that came in. The female passenger of the vehicle and then the female that y'all arrested. >> Okay. >> What' you see him doing? >> Uh the one female with the orange tank top on that y'all have. She was behind this Q- line right here. That's where she started. >> Right there where that Ubot is. And that's where the lighters and stuff were. >> Um so I was watching her cuz I was scanning out my damages and keeping an eye. So then I called Fina because the other girl went over into the makeup aisle and then she went around the store looking for and then they both ended up in the makeup aisle. That's where they started with the nail glue and the nails and all that stuff. So when I seen the one girl that's in the pass of the vehicle, she was just like real fidgety. They just look like they were just drug addicts or whatn not how they were acting. And so I had Reena finish watching. >> Yes, sir. So what I'm doing right now? We're all good. had uh Reena watching them and then that's when Reena called me on my phone and said the other girl with the tank top on. She split off from her friend. So that's when I walked over here and pretended I was looking for something in the freezer and cooler >> and she was getting ready to stuff the nails that time. But then she seen me coming and she tried to make like she was looking for some food. >> So then that's when she the other girl went over to the freezer, got a bag of chicken, went and paid for her stuff. She went outside and we kept watching the girl with the tank top. And then when I tried to when I went out there to look for her, I didn't see her. But then the other girl was looking real mysterious. So that's what made me call y'all cuz I don't have time to be chasing nobody no more or fighting with nobody. [laughter] So [snorts] >> Well, neither do I. That's the funny part. >> Yeah. You did good, though. You did good. >> She didn't I don't I was just going to make her pay for whatever she had >> when it's the I'm just going to leave now and then >> Yes. Yes. >> Going to be different, too. Even go I mean, this was that's why I went back there. I was like, I'm not going to wait for somebody to steal. Like, no, just come up here and pay. Yeah. >> But when you turn and run from me, it's like, >> yeah, >> don't do that. Why? >> Right. Right. >> I'm sorry you had to see everything else hang out. I was like, oh jeez. >> You're okay. You're okay. >> In the end, the woman was [music] arrested and likely faces charges including petty theft, resisting an officer, and providing false information. If she has a prior record or an outstanding warrant, [music] those charges could escalate to misdemeanor or even felonies with penalties ranging from fines to jail time. Ego may win the argument, but it never [music] wins the war with the law. What do you think? Reckless pride or just a bad day gone too far.
