Hi. >> Hello. Please. >> One more thing. >> This has to be the most clueless parents in the world. They literally forgot they had a child. >> Whatever's more convenient for you guys, I don't give you like >> Even a mother can hurt her children by making them live in unbelievable conditions. >> Today, we're diving into the world of unbelievably bad moms. You won't believe what they've done. [Music] The police get an emergency call. It's about a mother who might harm herself and her kids. The woman, identified as Kiara, tells dispatch that she's overwhelmed. The constant crying, the crushing anxiety, the fact that she never gets a break. It's all too much. She admits she's struggling, but swears she hasn't hurt her children. Viewer discretion advised. What you're about to see isn't for the faint of heart. Here's what happened when officers arrived. >> Hello, ma'am. You want to come over here? I can get you help. Just come with me. No weapons on you. >> No. >> No. That cigarette helping you out. Keeping you calm. >> No, I don't even got lighter. >> You don't got a lighter? All right. I can try and get you one. You want to come with me? What's going on today? Why do you want to hurt yourself? What's bothering you? >> No. What's wrong with you? >> What do you mean? What's wrong with you? I'm here to help you. >> 510 Central. >> This isn't me. >> What isn't you, ma'am? I'm not like this. I don't feel like this. >> Feel how with a 41 clear for medical. >> Don't feel like hell, ma'am. >> Just mad and angry. >> Okay. >> And then I got this gun. He stops crying. Now the one starts crying. >> So the kids just keep crying. Are they okay? Where they at? >> You can go inside. >> How old are they? Sheriff's Office. >> What's up, little man? You okay? >> You have someone that can take care of the kids? >> My husband's on the way, please. >> On the way from where? >> He's a loud mouth. >> Where is he on the way from? >> Where's your husband coming from? Uh, Carlad. >> Carlad. How long is that going to take him? >> He was about an hour into his drive. >> Okay. What's his phone number? >> How are you, buddy? >> You got a balloon? >> What's up, little guy? >> Okay. >> What's your name? >> What is that? >> You got a balloon. >> What's up, little guy? >> What's your name? >> So, the ambulance is going to come and they're going to help you out. Okay. Can you walk that way with me? Yeah. Come on. Let's go. >> Does anybody have a lighter? You have a lighter on anybody? >> From the moment they step in, the signs are obvious. Kiara is showing classic symptoms of severe postpartum depression or acute anxiety disorder. The cigarette in her hand, probably the only thing keeping her nerves from snapping. She's drowning in stress. >> How are you doing? Oh my goodness. You're a little one. God, this is embarrassing. >> You feel like hurting the kids. [Music] >> I mean, I get it. If you do, parenting is a lot. >> Frustrated. >> Uh-huh. >> Like, >> when one stops crying, the other one starts crying. >> It's like you can't catch a break with the kids. >> Yeah. And then on top of that, I got anxiety like I can't breathe. >> Okay. Do you feel like hurting yourself >> all the time? But do you feel like that right now? >> Say that. >> Do you feel like that right now? Hi guys. So, this is Kiara. She's telling me right now she has anxiety. She called us because she doesn't want to hurt the kids. She hasn't hurt them. I asked her if she feels like uh hurting herself. She says all the time. I don't know if she feels like that right now. She didn't answer that question directly. She's just going through a lot of stress, telling me she can't catch a break. When one kid stops crying, the next kid starts crying. >> Yeah. >> Um, real quick. So, the the dad's out of town. >> He's on his way. I came my phone's dead, but he's on his way right now. >> From where? He was going to Carl and he was about an hour and a half away, but he's on his way back. He's probably about Roswell Bond, something like that. >> Okay. Do you have any other family um in the area? >> No. And my local [ __ ] work, of course. >> Okay. What's your mama's name? >> My mom and >> Okay. Where's daddy? >> Daddy. >> Daddy's at work. And I coach >> Kiara is completely alone. No family to help, a husband working far away, and no professional support. No doctor, no social services, no one checking in. This isolation has fueled her darkest thoughts. Listen closely to what she says. >> Close by parents, siblings of yours, his >> my family's from Florida. >> What about his? Well, his brother is in uh Albuquerque, but he's not even close. He's with him. He's worked with them. >> What about his parents? >> They're dead. >> Okay. So, just a brother in Albuquerque that he's not close with, and that's it. >> Okay. All right. >> So, you have history on her? >> I've met her once before, just to look at the kiddo. You know, the four-year-old. I remember the four-year-old being here. >> Have you ever met the father? >> No. >> No, >> he wasn't here for that. Um, buyer stayed here with a kiddo while we took her to the hospital and then I guess the guy came over to take a look at the kid. So, I think he was a lot closer than than where he was before. >> Oh, he was like out of town, out of town. >> In your mind? >> Yeah. >> Um, yeah, I'll take a look at the kid. I'm just going to >> Did she have any history of >> Oh, I I don't know. >> Like at the time, nothing mentioned. >> Nothing uh nothing I thought. I mean, I didn't really delve too much into that, but >> yeah, you know. >> Okay. >> Nothing that I thought of. All right, we'll pro we'll handle it on that end. >> Did you eat breakfast already? >> You going to have flapjacks? >> I got hot. >> Have you guys been here before? >> Yeah, we delivered >> when we here. >> Yeah. >> Oh, wow. >> Sound like a month ago. >> Yeah. So, I mean, I can I can go talk to her. It sounds like she doesn't really want to be checked out. Is she's not voicing any ideas of wanting to hurt herself? Officers quickly realize she's in a mental health crisis. They urge her to go to the hospital for evaluation. >> I called you guys. >> I get that. That's why we're here trying to help you. >> Well, why did nobody help me get a lighter and then my neighbors are being nosy? What? >> They're in their yard. Just leave them. >> They're pointing their big old fat fingers over here. >> Let them. Why did it just bug you? They want to do that every day and then they feed my Chihuahua. Give her >> Why is your Chihuahua over there? >> Barfs and pukes and stuff. >> Why is your Chihuahua even over there? >> Cuz she goes under the fence. >> Oh, if it's going to leave your property, then that's the owner's fault. >> You're going to put you in cuffs and take it to my car. >> Windows are secured. >> And then we're taking you to the hospital as well with the property owner. >> They're going to listen to me and keep doing this. >> I know you don't want to go in cuffs. That sucks. >> And I'm telling you right now to stay over here. They're checking on your kids, making sure they're okay. >> What's up? >> All right. So, she's going to the hospital >> no matter what. Okay. So, she can choose to go with you guys or if she doesn't, >> uh, >> I've briefed them on what was going to happen if >> So, what do you want to do? You want to go in the ambulance or with us? >> Whatever is more convenient for you guys. I don't give a Just please give me a lighter. We can we'll do whatever is most help for you. I can get I can see if I can grab you a lighter and smoke a little something. >> Okay, you got your other shoe. Come on. Let's get that foot in. >> Let's get that foot in. >> Thank you. >> Little at the hospital. Doctors decide she isn't an immediate threat and send her home the same day. No follow-up, no social services involvement. She walks back into that empty house alone. A few days later, Kiara calls 911 again. Just >> go ahead, man. He's dead. He's dead. >> Who is Who is he? >> He's my baby. He's 4 months. He's 4 weeks old. >> Sheriff's office. >> Sheriff's office. >> Clear. Clear. >> Oh. Oh god. kidding. Are you kidding me? Oh, hey. Hey, I found him. He's here right now. >> He's here. Hey, buddy. >> When officers arrive, what they find is horrifying. The infant is dead in the crib. Bruises, signs of trauma. But her four-year-old son, he survived because he hid in his room. Kiara, she claims she doesn't know what happened. [Music] All right. I know, bro. I know you have to do. >> All right. >> You need a break real good and step outside. >> Just take a deep breath, man. >> Oh my god. Oh my god. Can you Can you tell me how to breathe? >> Take inhale. 4 seconds. Count four. Ready? 1 2 3 4. Breathe out. Look at that. Where'd your shoes at? >> You don't know? Okay, let's go outside. Come on, let's go outside. You're going to be fine. Here, hold my hand. Is this your animal? You like that animal? >> You want to put your phone in your pocket? >> I'm in trouble. >> Uh, not I don't know right now. I'm just going to place you in the handcuffs real quick. >> It looks like he crashed his face. He's all Bruce wicked. >> I'm being placed in cups. >> We're just going to have you sit in here for now. Okay. You got anything on your rope? >> I got like cers and a cigarette and my >> Okay, I'm going to go ahead and take those out. All right. Going to touch down. >> That's a torch. >> That's torch. Okay. I'll get one out for you. I got more room back there. >> So, >> just hold on a sec. So, once once they figure out what's going on in there, then we'll talk about what what happened. >> I just woke up and it was like that. >> Is there anybody else in the home or is it just you and him? >> My four-year-old son is in there. >> Just you and your son. Okay. I can't. I'll say it again. I'll say it a million times. I I had a long day yesterday. I talked to my mom on the phone for 7 hours cuz he wouldn't stop crying. >> No amount of regret was going to bring her son back to life. Now, >> he slept more than he should have last night. And it was my fault cuz I thought he was sleeping really good, so I didn't want to mess with him. And I was sleeping hard. Huh? Oh, she has us. >> Okay. Want to split it out? All right. >> Okay. Let's go in here. >> One of the responding officers had changed that baby's diaper just days before, and now he's standing over a crime scene. The grief in his eyes says it all. >> Why? Why? Oh god. [Music] >> Talk to me. >> How's it going? >> It's not Just talk to me, man. Talk to me, please. Let's Let's step up. That's fine. >> Just talk to me, please, brother. >> So, >> so our guys have called the people this morning. Okay. >> My son-in-law is dead. >> Yes. Yes, sir. Okay. I'm sorry for your >> I know. I know. I know. >> So, we got a call up here. Um I guess your wife is she your wife? >> She's my wife. >> Okay. I guess your wife called and said that something was wrong with the baby that they needed um law enforcement up here. Law enforcement came up. They found the child in the in the uh >> in the bassinet. >> In the bassinet. Okay. Um, so what we need you to do, and that's that's as much as we know at this point. >> I I know there's not I know you guys are doing your investigation. I know, man. I know. >> I'm not I'm not trying to be nothing. I need to know what's going on. I need to know where my other son's at. >> So, your other son uh was taken to the hospital. >> Is he okay? >> To be checked for injuries. He's okay. >> Yes, he is. >> He's okay. He's okay. >> Where's he at? He's with CFD right now with >> not she's having her issues but nothing like with the kids like that. Dude, what's going on? She has uh uh David just diagnosed her with postpartum last week. And uh I don't know what happened with the baby. I think he got suffocated with the blanket it sounds like to me. You know what I'm saying? And I'm I'm [ __ ] like, you know, I don't know. I don't want to put the blame on myself. I shouldn't have went back to work right away. You know what I mean? And I know my brother told me it's not even like that. But you know, for me as a father and a head of household, bro, I'm about to take care of everything >> and I feel up. >> You know, you got to do what you got to do. >> The father is shattered. He thought he was doing his duty, working hard, providing for his family, but now he's questioning everything. Did he fail them by not being there? Kiara is taken to the hospital and later charged with first-degree murder. What do you think? Does the father bear any responsibility in this tragedy? Drop your thoughts in the comments. And if you thought this was shocking, on October 6th, 2024, officers were called to a home after reports of domestic violence involving a woman who allegedly got into a physical altercation with her own parents. The conflict started the night before and exploded the following morning. Were you inside when all this was going on? >> Yeah. >> I think you're in here like right now. >> You tell me what's going on real quick. >> All you white, they're fighting. >> They're fighting. I think you right now. >> Excuse me. >> Who's fighting? >> Where? >> What is going on? Okay, >> we hold her down. >> Okay, she's going to go out. >> Pick him up. Get her. >> Get out. >> What? What's going on? >> What's going on? Why? >> Ain't nothing wrong with her. >> I know. >> You need to get up. >> Yeah, cuz she poked my TV in there. She took that big D right there. Tried to hit me with it. Try it to see me. I want her out of here. >> Her girlfriend. >> Treasure. Come on. >> Over there. >> Come on. Get up. >> Get up off the floor. >> She's not passed out. She's not. >> Huh? You need >> treasure? Get up. >> Get up. What are you doing? >> Sit up. >> Sit up. >> She's saying she can't breathe. >> All right, we're going to have EMS show. >> All right, let's get up. Stand up. >> Come on. >> Come on. You can. >> I can't breathe. >> Grab her other arm so you can stand up. >> Or sit around the bed. >> Sit on the bed. There we go. >> Sit on the bed. >> Scoot back. >> Stand up. I can. I keep telling I can >> Yeah, but you're intentionally falling back down. >> Oh, no. I can't. >> What's going on with your mouth? >> He was He was >> holding you. He was holding her down. >> Nuhuh. He was in my mouth while my bleeding. >> I don't know. All I saw was him holding you down. >> I swear to God. >> Let's go outside. >> Let's go outside. We're going to talk >> so we can separate everybody and talk. >> Can you walk with us out there? When police arrived, the main suspect was found lying on the floor, pretending to have fainted or feeling too weak to move. It was a clear attempt to delay being escorted out. Classic manipulation often seen in suspects trying to flip the narrative and play the victim. >> Where we have more room. >> He was joking me. He was trying to kill me. >> He was trying to kill me. >> We're going to get your side. >> He was trying to go >> kill me. having come talk just like >> like you know stop looking at me >> here on like >> okay I'm talking messing with me >> how did this all start >> I went to go get my thing and he choked me >> you live here >> and he was punching me in my face >> slow down I can't breathe I can't talk I just want to tell y'all I got We need to start. >> Okay. >> So, what what's going on? >> What? Cuz they started this yesterday. >> Okay. So, it's been going on since yesterday. I haven't We haven't been here. So, >> Oh, I know. But it's like she calls all the time. Like they didn't even show up last night cuz it's like they know that she >> I saw that officers were out here yesterday. >> Yeah. That was um >> So what's going on? What's going on today? Why are we all fighting? >> Her mom, we all woke up. We we brushed our teeth. All that. We were just getting ready to to just head out and go. Yeah. >> She her mom was just saying stuff and just messing with her. >> Okay. But saying stuff you can ignore. >> How did we get to the point where things are broken and people are punching and hitting each other? >> He hasn't been saying nothing. We stayed upstairs and they were saying stuff. They just she her mom acts like a bully and then her dad like, "Why are you putting your hands on her?" And then he threw water on me. It's like, "I'm not going to do nothing. Go ahead, T." >> Her girlfriend claimed that both of them were being bullied by the parents since the night before and that the mom had called her something which made her partner snap. But she didn't deny that the suspect had damaged property in the house. At this point, police began identifying who the true aggressor was. >> Okay. And then what happened? >> Did you Did you see what happened? >> Broke that TV. >> Sound like she called Was this your mom in here? >> Yeah. >> She called her name, punched the TV. >> She did that and left. Then she came back in. And then when she came in here, she tried to break this one. So I just started holding her down. >> We all trying to hold her down. >> Yeah. I was in here trying to feed my son and make sure my cousin eat. And then I went in there. They trying to hold her down. But she did break this TV. I don't know why she broke the TV. >> No. At first nothing else happened. She just broke it. >> Yeah. And then walked out. And then she came back and went upstairs then saying, "Where's her stuff? Where is her stuff?" And we like, "We don't know." >> Scratching. >> What happened with the TV? >> I don't break the TV. >> No, I did not. I really did. I don't know what they're doing. They're about to leave. I don't know. Like they're crazy. Like they trying to put us up to the bad guy. Why was all of them in there like doing that? Like it only take one person. He's choking me trying to kill me. I'm telling you, I want to do this to myself. >> Well, when I came in, he was holding you down on the bed. >> Hey, don't he was holding me, choking me, hitting me. >> Can you tell me a little bit what's going on? >> They tried to kill me. I can't breathe. >> Okay. >> But he was choking me. He was talking to me. He was pushing me. >> How are you feeling right now? >> I can't breathe. I need inhaler. >> Okay. You have asthma? >> I don't have asthma, but I have >> I need a test. >> My partner here is going to get some vitals on you. >> So, uh, you said he was he was choking you. Did you lose confidence at all? >> I couldn't say cuz I was screaming. >> Yeah, >> he was choking me ahead. That's why you leave me like I don't want to do this. I got to get my stuff down. >> They're not doing all right. getting herself. The girl in here said they were the I mean it's biased on her end. >> Yeah. Was saying that they got up, they were brushing their teeth, they were getting their stuff to go and then >> the mom dad kept saying stuff to touch her. She's like, "No, they just kept picking on her, picking on her, picking on her and then she went crazy." >> Yeah. Officers listened carefully, but the suspect's story was all over the place, repeating herself, emotional outbursts, and unclear details. That kind of behavior is typical of someone trying to stir sympathy while hiding the fact they were the instigator. Her injuries were minor, and her story didn't quite add up. >> You got a little from me in the DV. >> He was choking me. >> Can y'all take him to jail? He was trying to kill me. He was trying to kill me. He laughing about it. Y'all seen it. Y'all need to take him to jail. I pressing charges. He got to go, bro. He messed my whole face up in my neck, bro. I can't breathe. And I'm telling him he talking about he focus on him right now. All right. Let's not focus on him. >> Okay. Sure. >> Yeah. All right. Saw how many acorns. I stand out here talking and the weird stuff you notice. This tree was dropping like 50 at a time in this house. stroke. >> A stroke, too. >> Okay. Yes. You guys both had some stuff going on. Yeah. Medically too old for this. >> Yeah. Yeah. You guys don't need all this stuff. >> What TV was broke? >> That one. You see it? >> What? She hit it with just punched it. >> She punched it. >> Yeah. And then she took that one thing right there was and came in my room. >> Yeah. How did she get into the room? >> My room was I know. She just ended up going over there. What's she doing in there? >> Trying to break the other TV with that >> and then hit me. That's why I called 911. >> Oh god. >> You know her social security number, sir? >> Yeah. >> She said she had, >> you know, she broke >> to the hospital. >> Yeah. But I'm just saying. So what it take for them to die for her to get out of here? Because I'm not going to lie. I don't make threats, but I'm not taking life no more. >> Not to where I got to clock out of my job and come check on my mom and my dad. She's getting checked and then as long as she's cleared, she's going to the county. >> Oh, she is? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Police made the call. If medics confirmed she was physically fine, she'd be taken straight to county jail. They also gave the family advice on filing a 3-day eviction notice and how to request a restraining order. >> Morning. Tomorrow morning, you call down to domestic relations court and then they'll give you a time to come in for to get the uh protection order and then she won't be allowed here at all. Okay. Well, so does she got to call the victim's assistance or >> No, no, no, no. Cuz she's already going to court >> tomorrow. Yeah. >> I'm going with you >> and make sure she fills that out >> and gets it. >> Okay. >> No, the when you get there. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> So, just call domestic relations in the morning like 9:00 a.m. >> My blood high domestic relations. >> It was a little high. It was at like 170. I think that's just kind of from the situation, just from a lot of stuff going on. >> Yours is about the same. There's like 160. >> Okay. >> So, I I think that's just kind of from >> the situation and from just I think a lot to me last time. They took me in there. >> What's that? >> Last time they >> Yeah, >> I was so scared. Then they they rescued you. >> Yeah. That was the emergency room. >> I see. It's actually if anything changes tomorrow. You guys seem okay right now. So >> yeah, I'm fine though. >> Yeah, but just give us a call. >> If something changes, call. >> All right. Make sure you call tomorrow morning at 9:00. Domestic relations. Thank you. I thought it was a big back. >> This is a smaller one. >> They do have a big back one. >> Mhm. >> Uh >> but that's for like >> multiple people. >> Oh, multiple people. Usually I I would uh >> when you do get out when you go back to get your stuff >> I am going to call >> don't do any kind of drama. Try to get see if an officer can come out and help you with the situation. Get your things. >> Okay. >> And the good thing about that is so they can't say, "Oh, she did this, she did that." >> I'll be back. >> Exactly. >> So, thank you so much. >> Cover your ass. That's basically the the the what we want you to do. >> Thank you so much. In the end, the woman was arrested and charged with domestic violence. This case is a textbook example of how long-term cohabitation and financial stress can fuel serious family conflict. Though she kept denying any wrongdoing, evidence and witness accounts clearly pointed to her as the primary aggressor. The legal process will continue and could result in criminal charges and a permanent no contact order. On December 8th, 2024, Florida, the Flaggler County Sheriff's Office, FCSO, executes a search warrant on a house following a prior incident where someone inside pulled a weapon during an altercation. But when officers step inside, they realize things are far worse than expected. Four kids are living in filth. No running water, a broken toilet, and trash piling up everywhere. The stench overwhelming. The place is infested with fleas, cockroaches, and spiders. And if that wasn't bad enough, officers also find drugs and weapons, raising serious concerns about the children's safety. >> Hey, Amanda. >> Hey, can I talk to you real quick? >> Am I in trouble? >> Well, no, but we did have a talk. >> All right, let's come out here. This file won't open up with you. He DJJ kept him last night. >> Yeah, >> they did. Okay. All right. And so, Alex and your three children that live here, right? >> Yeah, >> they do. Okay. >> Is there anybody home right now? >> Oh, yeah. The kids. >> Is it just the three of them right now? >> Yeah. Am I going to jail? >> Um, yeah. That's why we're going to walk this way and I want to get you out of the kids. Hey, come on. Come on. What am I going to do? >> So, I'm going to explain that here in a minute. All right. And we're going to get out of side of your kids. >> Can I at least have my daughter bring me my phone so that way I can call somebody? >> What am I going to jail for? >> You're going to go to jail on four counts child abuse. >> Okay. And I'm going to explain that. >> I was cleaning last night. I literally was >> Well, >> can I get shoes at least? >> We'll get everything for you. >> We'll get everything. Okay. 21. >> She said back. >> All right. What's going to happen? I'm going to take you to the jail. Four four counts of felony child abuse. Okay. One, as a mother, you're supposed to provide adequate >> I was cleaning the house. adequate care for your children. I don't think you've met that level based on our observations yesterday. >> It just the culmination of everything. I I don't I can you please listen for me a minute. >> Is there any shoes that you want to or need? >> Yeah. And you can you ask my niece and nephew to get me my >> Just look at that hallway. Yet somehow the mother insists she's been keeping the place clean. The truth, the house is unlivable. Period. No excuse can justify this level of neglect. [Music] I'm being serious. >> Can you get your mom's flip flops real quick? [Applause] >> I'm being serious. >> I believe I do believe you're going to want to improve your situation and I hope you >> I literally was I was I actually was cleaning the date. I actually had >> Well, Amanda, we've we've been here several times, okay? It has never you can say you're cleaning now, but it's I've never seen any improvement to this property. >> All right. >> And it's it's basically a totality of his investigation and armrest that we conducted. Okay. It's not just one day or any particular day >> or any particular thing. >> Please, can you please get my cell phone so at least I can have it when I get out? >> Okay. Do you want to get a There's a wallet that they can grab for you, too. >> My ID is in my wallet. Everything's in my wallet. >> Okay. I can get your wallet in >> my phone. That's it. My phone. >> Do you want just your phone then >> or do you want your wallet too? >> I just want my phone. Can get her phone too. I'll come back in a second and talk to you. >> Um, I'm just going to do a quick uh you back my hands. I got to search. You don't have anything on you, do you? >> No. >> Think it's a bug prod or has your mouth. All right, if you could just lean forward over here, right? Um >> I believe DCF's gonna respond. >> Okay. >> Um but if you >> can you have call him and have him come stay with the kids until he comes. >> Well, we're going to stand by with him um until DCF gets here. Okay. But you're going to come with me. Is there any other adults in the house? >> No. >> No. All right. >> That's why I should call my boyfriend. >> All right. Lean back. I'll be fine. >> No, I'm losing my kids. >> I'm not going to get him back and you guys don't understand. I'm not getting them back now. >> Phone on your dad. >> All right. I appreciate it. >> Can you please dial my boyfriend? I'll tell you how to get into it. >> Listen. >> In Florida, child abuse isn't just physical violence. Severe neglect is also a crime. No running water, no working toilets, spoiled food everywhere. These conditions are clear-cut child endangerment. The kids were basically fending for themselves in a house that should have been condemned. Then out of nowhere, a woman claiming to be the niece of the former homeowner calls the police. >> Yeah, I'm doing good. How you doing? >> I'm doing all right today. I mean, I've done better, but you know, we're just riding these waves. Um I'm not sure if the um the status check >> gave you any information. No, they didn't give information about I guess your ex about the property. >> Um, yeah. So, I am the granddaughter of Edmund Deviano of 20 Fanwood Court. He was the elderly veteran owner of that property before he was conned by um the Gaysford family. We've been in a long ongoing battle um over the home and the neglect of my grandfather that's obviously now apparent in four. I don't I I do obviously I've been reaching out to my lawyer um because things are obviously moving very quickly. Uh I reached out to him and I'm trying to figure out what we can do legal counsel wise, but I'm just wondering I I imagine the home is under investigation, but if there's any way to block this, you know, more or less random woman from coming in and taking more items from the family. >> The thing is that's that's like I like we can't really get involved with that more of a it's a it's more civil at the end of the day. So, does that mean like anybody like my aunt who lives in Florida? I mean, I'm in Austin. I'm just waiting for the word to fly out there. Does that mean my aunt who is uh you know legally his daughter could just come to the home as well? >> Unless she's invited over there by is like if she trespassing the property, then that's a different story. But if she's invited by anybody to come in, she can come in. >> There's nobody living at the property. Amanda's in jail. >> Okay. If nobody's there, then does he have a key to go inside the house? I imagine that they changed the locks. Um I don't think Bianca Carter would have a key either. >> Okay. If she doesn't have a key, then she has no access to go inside the house. >> Unless Amanda's like, "Hey, there's a key hidden here or something like that." But again, like these people are not legally entitled to this house. We're working on reclaiming possession as soon as possible. >> Uh >> Amanda doesn't own the house, but she's been living there for a while. And under Florida law, police can't just kick someone out without a court order, even if the conditions are disgusting. >> But you're saying like legally, technically, anybody who potentially owns the house or has been invited to the house could go and >> Yeah, they can. It's if if that person being invited into the house, then they can go inside the house. But if that person, say, was trespassing that house from that property, then it's a different story. >> But if you're being invited by somebody who's not the legal owner, Is that not Is that not trespassing? >> No, it's not trespassing at all cuz that person had been served a trespass warning saying that you're not allowed to come to this property. >> It would have to be signed by the owner of the house. But there's no owner. >> The owner of the house is technically deceased and the last legal owner is myself and my aunt and my uncle. Like if you follow the deed trail, we are the last legal owners and we've been trying to fight for this house. through this con for years. >> Does anybody anybody of the family live here in Palm Coast? >> Yes, my aunt lives in Flaggler. >> Okay. Then she >> I mean they they were squatting, you know. I mean they technically didn't have legal right to live there but you know we we've been in this process for >> years trying to handle it. >> Gotcha. [Music] Like I said it's it's all going to it's all still at end of it. >> Okay. cuz it's like there's nothing that we can do on our part about it. >> Sorry, >> I said there's nothing we can do on our part about it. It's more of a you got to go down to the courthouse and >> just >> go down to the courthouse. Yeah. >> So, if we were to go down to the courthouse, is there any way to like block entry and entrance and and make it so that the house is tied up while we finish this basically seizure of the property? Whoever's the property owner that owns the house can do that because that's >> my aunt, myself and my uncle. >> Right. Then you guys >> Yeah, you guys are allowed to do that cuz you but it's it's going to be a whole thing of she was staying there at the time and she basically establish >> then she had to prove documentation that she was living there. >> Yeah. I mean >> this isn't a simple burglary. It's a legal dispute. Officers can't block Amanda from allowing people inside unless they have concrete proof of criminal intent. >> It's just paperwork. >> Can you please call my boyfriend to take care of my animals? >> We will. >> I I I honestly I'm hoping I can >> All right. All um they're we're standing by with your house like yesterday. Um we're not going to leave any animals unsecured or uncared. >> That's why I asked if you can call my boyfriend. DCF is coming out and um like I said, DCF may come talk to you at the jail >> and they're going to figure out arrangements for getting care for your children. Okay. >> Um can you call Stacy Reading? Have them call Stacy Reading. >> I I don't I'm not going to be part of that. We're going to do paperwork. Um >> I'm going to be honest with you. So just leaving yesterday like and just all my observations >> that's strictly what this is based off is observations. Um you know I hope that >> whatever comes with this. >> Can you answer that? That's my son. >> Can you please please I need to know what's going on. >> Whatever comes to this I hope you guys get to a better spot. Okay. But this is where it's gonna stop. >> Please, that's my son. I'm begging you. >> Please. >> That's my son. >> I I right now I'm not permitted to answer phones like that. [Music] >> You have to go. >> Yep. Have to call animal control. >> Can you please just call my boyfriend? He'll take care of them. >> Road. I really can't lose my service dog. >> Lexus, >> you're not going to lose your property or your hands. >> Can you call my boyfriend to um take care of the >> take care of that? DCF will handle that. >> No, I'm being serious. He'll take my my service dog. I have a service dog. >> Oh, you're talking about your boyfriend to take the dog. >> Take the dog and my cats. Yes, he'll >> get that info to deputy log. He'll he'll try to reach out. >> I literally And also I they juvenile justice just called my phone. Can I please find out what's going on with my son? In the end, the mother is arrested and charged with four counts of child neglect, not for physically harming her kids, but for recklessly endangering them through extreme negligence. The children are placed under the care of the Department of Children and Families, DCF, and their mother may lose custody permanently. Meanwhile, the house itself is at the center of an ongoing fraud case with allegations of illegal occupation and property theft. The original homeowner's family is now fighting in court to get their house back. August 5th, 2024, Ohio. Police were dispatched to an apartment complex after multiple 911 calls reported gunfire. York, >> he's been around here for a few years. I know you guys have arrested him a couple times. And he walks to the length as he got shot a couple years ago. Do you know the girl's name that's staying there? >> I have no idea. I don't even know her. >> Cuz it sound like >> I just sitting there talking to my girl in there. Next, she know a few shots. I see her screaming and on the phone. >> Check on the kids. When I come back, she's pulling out and I didn't see her. >> We're fighting. >> Hey, Crockett. >> This house got hit. Another house got in. >> Uh, right there. 10:37. >> That's how yours got hit. >> Wow. Look at this. >> I'm surprised that's all that got hit over there. >> I saw that white. >> I know. There might be more. >> Been out here before that white next to that. >> So, you saw the white one come out after the other one? So, it's probably the gray one. >> They're chasing each other. You think? >> One flew out. went that way and one that she lives at 1066 Nadia some kind of road drive by >> I'm pull up again this time of the black Malibu where's Brian South 209 [Music] >> Witnesses didn't see who fired first but they shared plenty of backstory turns out there had been some bad blood building up officers found bullet holes in walls, doors, and frames. Evidence showed gunfire came from more than one direction. It wasn't just one shooter. There were two people squeezing triggers that day. >> Yeah. He said he made a report earlier. >> She shot at him before and the cops didn't do anything. >> Where did she shoot at you at? >> Where? >> Before Nadia. >> We're on Nadia. When was that? >> This was like probably a month ago cuz I've been in that half for like a month now. >> Steven got you. >> Steven got you. Okay. So she's in the second space. >> Yes. She was like, >> you ask her what she's doing here. >> Yes. She was like, I'm not coming over here for you, but if you want to start shooting, we can't. So I didn't shoot. She went over, reached over to wherever that like the passenger seat, reached over there, grabbed her gun, rolled her window down, and started shooting. So then >> after the gun or passenger side, >> after the passenger side, start shooting. Then that's when I shot back at her. [Applause] I shot about like probably eight or either seven or eight and then she shot like multiple times. Just kept shooting. >> You stay here, right? >> Yes, I do. >> I thought she was like your friend. >> No, she is not my friend. She's his baby mother. I was getting along so that he could see his kid with her, but then that's not out of the question. Um, but I'm a reporter probably though. I'm guarantee this because you got holes in the car and >> Okay. >> Okay. So, it's not like they didn't do anything. I didn't know that part of that aspect of it. >> It's just a It's like I feel like >> So, where did you take your gun? I'm not You're not in any trouble. You're allowed to have one, right? >> Um, yeah. >> I don't have any warrants or nothing like that. >> And you're 21 or older? >> I'm 22. Okay. >> Someone else's apartment? >> Yeah. >> Okay. I just need to get it, get some information off of it. You're not, like I said, you're not trouble. Okay. Like from everything we're hearing. Okay. Okay. So, I just need that to compare to all this and write everything down. Okay. >> All right. >> What's your girl look like? >> Tall, short, chubby, tall, skinny, >> dark, light. >> My complexion. >> Tall, skinny. What? >> Tall, skinny, and his complexion. >> Tall, skinny. >> How's her hair? >> Probably all over the place. Thanks, Paul. >> One of the women involved, reportedly the new girlfriend, admitted she fired back in response to being shot at, with both sides exchanging gunfire, claiming self-defense suddenly became tricky, especially with no cameras to show how it all started. But investigators tracked down the apartment of one woman and decided it was time to pay her a visit. >> In there, I'm Oh, >> all right. Why don't you come in here and talk to us? You going to have a seat? >> So, what's going on today? >> What's going on? What do you got going on today? >> I just went to the laundry room and >> a lot of stuff >> running. What's going on? Why am I in you? >> Just release your hands, please. >> I'll tell you one second. I'll we get in a car, I'll explain things to you and I'll talk to you in a car in private. Am I not have the right to know before I'm being arrested? >> Sure. >> Okay. When am I being arrested? >> I'll tell you in a car, man. We're not >> Why do I have to wait till we get to the car? >> I'm not going to air your business out here in front of everybody that's >> Nobody's here. >> Okay. >> Nobody even lives up here by this door. >> 511. >> John Deberto. Sorry. John Tom 511 snakes on a dirt maker. Go ahead. >> What happened? >> What's this all over? >> Nobody got hurt. >> Not even her. I did not go there on any drama with her. I was not doing anything to her. I didn't even exit the vehicle >> that I was in. me and my boy I mean me and my child's father um two weeks ago we had an agreement that I would pay his phone bill for him until he got paid that Friday. Well, I did not go and get my money. So, I had to not get it >> which will be for till this week, >> right? >> So, what happened today? >> Well, when I told him that I have the key to his car, >> right? >> I said, "Well, I'm going to go and get your car with your things in it because he's a lawyer in the house. And when you want your car back, bring it with my money and you can have both. >> Okay. >> And he he was like, "If you go there, I'm gonna shoot you." >> Okay. >> And he's like, "I'm on my way. I'm on my way. I'm on my way." I'm like, "You're going to shoot me for what? >> Why? That didn't match her statement. She claimed she didn't even have a gun, then shifted her story, saying her ex Mayfield took her weapon and handed it off to his new girlfriend, who then shot her. >> She has a camera in her house. Why didn't she show you? >> All right, listen to me. >> Why didn't she show you? Because if you see that I did not I hear you, but I'm saying I did not cause her any harm. I didn't even exit my vehicle. Why am I under arrest >> right now? Because you shot through the window and back at her. >> We're trying to figure out between Listen, we're >> What is back at her? You're telling me that she shot at me? >> I don't know. That's why I'm here to find out who shot you shot first and she shot at you. >> I didn't have any reason to be down there for her. And how did she know I was coming? I can show you my phone where me and my baby dad is calling. I'm not calling. >> And you knew he was at the halfway house. You thought the coast was clear to get the car. >> Exactly. My my point. And when I got there, she was I'm sorry. I'm not I'm one of people that like just getting worked up and I'm really hot and I'm really bothered because these windows don't for yours, correct? >> No, it's not mine. >> Who's is it? >> It's It's not even registered. They hit her today. >> And I'll tell you why. >> What am I supposed to do with that dash? >> I do. All right. Listen to me. Did he explain why? >> No. >> Here's what happened. We don't know who started shooting at each other, right? >> Mhm. >> Okay. And you guys have a great self-defense against each other. She shot first, she shot her. So, I'm shoot. The problem is your rounds went in the apartment here where someone's living and her rounds went over here where someone's living. You could have killed a kid. You could have helped anybody with your rounds, right? That's why we don't shoot. In areas like this, we're talking about, right, where a bunch of people could get shot. >> Eventually, cops confirmed that both women fired shots at each other. And worse, those bullets ended up inside apartments where innocent families lived. That changed everything. Police announced they'd be charging both women with discharging a firearm into a habitation, a secondderee felony in the state of Ohio. As for Mayfield, the guy stuck in the middle, he was arrested, too. That's why your mama You going to be just like her. Yo. Yo, you going to be just like your mom. Keep playing, boy. Keep playing. Keep playing. Hey, get in the car. Sit down. Sit down. Why do you got to do this? for >> cuz my bullet hit somebody's house. >> No, but the bullet hit my bullet when I shot back hit somebody house. >> Why did you shoot back? >> What was I supposed to do? Just let her shoot me? >> No, you should just go in the house. >> I couldn't. She had me blocked to where I could not go in the house. She was right in front of my house. >> Where's the cops at? >> Right here. >> You make sure the door lock. >> Yeah. What? >> All I wanted was my money. >> All right. Well, please stop here. >> Y'all going to put them together? >> No, we're not. We weren't the officers there, so we can't speak on that. I don't know. >> All right. Well, >> you have something in your bra or anything in your bra? >> No. All right. Back hand back. Yeah, it's going to hurt if you do it that way. All right. Trying >> to get comfortable on you. On the night of July 4th, 2023, police received a call from a store employee reporting a theft that had escalated into violence. The caller stated that two aggressive women had stolen merchandise and assaulted store staff. And here's what happened when officers arrived on the scene. >> Hey, what's going on? >> So, uh, >> I'll come talk to you guys in a second. Okay. over here. >> So, these two girls, uh, one of the employees to take some chicken to the bathroom. Uh, so her and I went to the bathroom. She went into the bathroom. Uh, she smelled them smoking something. I said, "Hey, girl, time to go." Uh, they said they started becoming rape. Um, just yelling a bunch of stuff to they finally came out of the bathroom. Um, the chicken is well. I said I see the receipt of the chicken that you guys paid for ripped the chicken out of the girl's hand. I start going out the store. I said, "Ma'am, need to see the chicken receipt for the chicken um that you guys pay for chicken." Show the receipt and the other employee um she was the selfch checkout. >> Um Margaret. >> Yeah, Margaret. No, our policy as you're walk, trespass them, do restitution, nothing. >> Oh, could you and Angela and I'll just sit down and then come down here, too. >> The store manager reported that the two women had taken a pack of chicken into the restroom and were showing signs of drug use. When employees asked them to provide a receipt, they became aggressive and started hurling racial slurs before trying to leave without paying. >> Okay. So, I I missed part of that. So, you went to grab her arm. >> Yeah. >> And then what happened? >> Uh then she turned around, was kicking me. Um I tried to put her on the ground. Um got on the ground, tried to take the puffs out. Uh tried to get her hands behind her back and told her to stop, stop, stop continually. tried to tell her to stop >> um tried to tell her to get her hands out of back um continually. Um >> and then >> the other girl jumped him and started attacking him and trying to hit him and put her arms around his neck and I tried to push her off and tell her to get off the bound. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> So at some point she dropped the chicken. Um, again, still our policy. Take them inside. Trespass, restitution. >> Yeah. Okay. So, who who was the one that had the chicken? >> Um, the one sitting down beside the blue dress. >> Okay. Hey guys, >> you guys can sit if you want. >> So, so who who all was involved in this thing? I was me and her were using the gun. >> I saw what happened. >> I saw what happened yesterday. >> I just saw what happened, too. >> You want to go over with my partner then? >> Okay. Thank you. >> So, we're going to walk straight towards the checkout line and they came in the bathroom. >> Checked out. We checked out was the juice. We checked out and then when we went to >> I don't know what the [ __ ] happened after that but I don't see happen. >> I was in the bathroom going pee when they came in the bathroom to go pee. >> Okay. >> And he came in there looking under the stalls telling them they need to come out. He thinks they're stealing and stuff and >> so we were like why are you in the girls bathroom for one like you shouldn't even be in here. >> And so we all came out the girls bathroom. They started walking towards the checkout stand. >> He grabbed the chicken out of her hand. And then after he already had the chicken in his hand, he grabbed her and tappled her to the ground, put his knee in her back and like slammed her and holding her on the ground. She started screaming and I was like, "You need to let go of her." And then she got up off the ground and was like trying to get away from him and sat right there. I was like, "Just wait for the police to come because she didn't they didn't do anything wrong." Huh. >> A female witness who had been in the restroom at the same time confirmed that the suspects had the chicken with them, though she wasn't sure if they had actually paid for it. Meanwhile, a male witness who recorded the incident provided a different perspective. >> I just All right. She didn't just call her right here at the entrance. >> What's her name, sir? >> So, at this point, sir, >> she doesn't even have chicken in her hand. >> Uhhuh. >> The chicken's over there. He's dragging her. >> But this is after he had his foot in her neck and he got that dog. This is something no chicken in her hand. >> The chicken's right there. >> Why are you doing that? Why? She's not even doing that. Why are you dragging her? If I send you a link to our digital evidence system, can you email me that video? What's the phone number for you, sir? >> In a little bit, you're going to get a text message from me. Just click on the link and it'll give you an option to upload video or any other digital evidence. >> They tackled her. >> I'll pay for whatever. >> Hold on. >> I'm sorry. >> And they tackled her and I was like, what are you guys doing? Like you're going to pay for it. >> I just didn't want them to like >> Where did that sister break down? >> So, right here. >> I didn't want them to tackle my sister cuz she's pregnant. I'll take I'll listen to you. I'll listen to you. Let me get let me try and get through through the story here from her first and >> I was trying to explain to them like bro I'm pregnant and we're just trying to go stop. We weren't trying to go out the door. We're trying to go stop cuz it's faster and my baby's at home trying to get home to my baby. >> Yeah. Okay. >> And I'm pregnant. I'm not pregnant. >> Yeah. Then what happened, >> man? She was like, she's pregnant. She's pregnant. We're going to pay for it. We're going to pay for it. >> Yeah. Okay. And they kept they went over and I was like, "Please let her up. Please let her up." And the guy, I want I pushed him off and she was just trying to defend me. >> Mhm. >> Were you involved in this circle? Did you see him? >> No, I was standing right there when they came around from that right there. >> All right, let's see where we go from here. >> Witness testimonies often lean in favor of the suspects, especially when they don't have the full story. But eyewitness accounts don't override hard evidence like security footage or employee statements. Meanwhile, the two women continued to argue and insist they were in the right. >> What she said, you guys went in the bathroom cuz she needed to go pee with the chicken. >> You set the chicken outside the stalls. >> That chicken should have been outside the stalls. I'm not sure about the chicken part, but I didn't see anybody with any chicken in their hand. >> Okay. But you had chicken, right? You guys both had chickens. >> Not that I I don't even remember what we had in our hands. But when we went to check out, we checked out >> hot food. >> Didn't we have a receipt? >> Didn't we have a receipt? >> No, we had checked out. >> We didn't check out. >> I remember I said we were in the We're about to get cheap on my pee. Oh, I peed myself. >> All I know is I went in the bathroom first. I came out. My sister went to use the bathroom. She had some chicken at the register at the selfch checkout. We came back out. She went to check out. And then that's when they tried tripping on us about the chicken. I'm like, I'll pay for it if need be. Like, I'm not going to steal no chicken. You feel me? Like, I'm 22 years old. Like, what do I have to steal chicken for? >> Is um if they were confronting you about the chicken, why did you bring it outside? >> That's why I'm not understanding. I have no problem with paying for it. Whatever has been built out, whatever they're claiming we tried to take, I have no problem paying for it. >> So, you just don't recall that. >> I'm a 2-year-old. I have to go home, too. I have no problem paying for anything that has to be paid for. >> Yeah. Okay. Yeah. But you don't recall that part of it? >> No, I remember staying at the register. I don't remember like what interacted, what made us come out, but I remember I was going in the bathroom and coming out of the bathroom. >> Okay. >> The officers handled the situation carefully, keeping the conversation open while simultaneously applying mental pressure. By asking direct, logical questions, they force the suspects into contradicting themselves. >> Okay. So, they were still holding the chicken out here. And >> I did not initiate everything until we were >> Okay. So, this all you have that on camera? >> Okay. Hey. >> Hey, Athena and Allison. Can I talk to you guys over here? >> Okay. So, I'm just explain to you what's going on. Okay. But first, I'm going to put you in custody. Okay. >> For what? >> But what did I do? >> You're not even explaining to me what happened on your back. >> I didn't For what? >> Just relax. You're going to get yourself more >> my friend. But what did I do though? >> Like all >> Hey, come here. >> What did I do? Can you tell me what I did though? >> Can you tell me what I did, though? >> Stop right there. You're going to get bitten by my dog. >> [ __ ] >> You're under arrest. Stop moving. >> Out of the car. >> I didn't do anything. >> 24. I have a second. I didn't >> figure this out. I was the only one here. I was going to use the bathroom. >> I have the second one detained. >> What did I do though? What did I do? >> Stop. >> What did I do? That's what I'm asking. >> Stop. I'm asking what I did. >> Sit down. >> Stop. I'm asking what I did. I'm asking what I did. That's why I'm asking you. They're not copy. >> Stop. I'm asking you what I did wrong. >> Stand up. >> I'm asking you what I did wrong. >> I'm asking you what I did wrong. I'm asking you. >> Can I ask what I did wrong? Can I ask what I did wrong? >> What did I do wrong? >> Sit up. >> For what did I do wrong though? >> What did I do wrong though? >> Stop it. You're resisting arresting. >> What did I do wrong? >> I'm about to put you on the ground. Put your hands behind your back. Put your hand on your back. >> Okay. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> Stop messing around. You're gross. >> Lay down. >> Okay. Okay. >> Get Get on your stomach. >> Get on your stomach. >> Get on your stomach. >> Get on your stomach. >> Put your hands behind your back, >> baby. >> Put your hand behind your back. >> I didn't do anything wrong. >> Even after being arrested, the women refused to take responsibility, denying any wrongdoing. Even as the evidence stacked up against them, they were then transported to jail for processing. >> She slipper cups. >> Yeah. >> I'm literally just trying to understand why I'm getting arrested right now. >> I told you multiple times you're under arrest for robbery. >> Why though? I never took anything from them. I'm not understanding. >> Okay. >> Okay. I'm going to I'm going to set you up. Okay. Are you going to Are you going to come? >> I was trying to ask you why am I being arrested for robbery? I never took anything from them. >> Okay. Okay. >> I'm not understanding. I have the world that I have to go home to. >> I'm going to sit you up. >> Listen. >> I'm not I want to be a part of it. That's why I went to the bathroom. I didn't want to be a part of it. And she's still >> All right. Let's take a seat over in the car here. All right. Can you lean back? >> I can't. My hands actually hurt really bad. I can't I can't. >> You slipped your cuffs earlier? >> No. No, I haven't. Earlier I did. They were super They were loose. Yeah, earlier they were loose, but now they're super tight. I haven't been able to >> After we we said stop doing that. >> No, lean back. [Music] >> Oh man, >> come. >> Oh wow. Okay, we got a couple pictures. I want to zoom in on that. Just grabbed the good boys, but >> I just went and took a leak. I haven't seen him there. >> Okay. >> Took a couple kicks to the chest. >> All right. They said my neck was red, but I don't really know. >> Oh, yeah. Let me get a picture of that, too. >> In the end, both women faced multiple charges, including felony assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and petty theft. Do you think they should have considered their children before committing the crime instead of using them as an excuse after getting caught? In Florida, March 16th, 2024, a routine patrol turned into pure chaos when officers spotted a silver Volkswagen speeding recklessly, nearly taking out a deer in the process. Behind the wheel, 35-year-old Darla Videll. When officers hit the lights and sirens, most drivers would pull over. But Darla, nope. You grab the card out of his hand and throw it on the ground, then turn towards me and put your arm inside of my car. I'm not doing that, Scott. >> Do you understand? >> Sure. >> We can take you to jail, too. We can make this as inconvenient for both of you. I don't want to do that. >> Okay. The moment Nicole spotted the cops, she tried to bolt. A classic red flag that she knew she was in the wrong. During the arrest, she deliberately made it difficult to cuff her, clearly hoping the officers would mess up or just give up. >> She can breathe. >> Roll around your side. >> Please, no. >> Roll on your side. >> I can't. >> Okay. help you. >> I'm breathing, please. >> What? >> I'm breathing. >> Okay. She kept squirming and refused to be searched, claiming it was inappropriate since the officer wasn't a woman. Legally, though, the officer was well within his rights to proceed, and it was clear she was just trying to stall and cause problems. >> Hold still, please. >> No, you're not even supposed to be doing this. >> Then stop fighting. So, what do you think is a fair punishment for someone who beats up her boyfriend and throws a tantrum with the cops? Drop your thoughts in the on April 14th, 2024, Columbia County deputies responded to a serious call after a man dialed 911, reporting that a woman had jumped into his truck without permission and started tearing it apart. So, like I told Turns out the woman had just been discharged from the hospital after cutting her own arms. She told officers she had ridden in the back of the truck for miles trying to signal the driver to stop, then started banging on the windows to get his attention. But her version didn't line up with what the man reported or what the scene clearly showed. So you got on the back. So when did you do this? >> Why? He been lying to the officer all night. He's a liar. >> Yeah, he was on the job. >> Stop it. >> What? >> Regardless of the fact they don't give you the right to damage this truck. >> Okay, stop. He was only be against my will. What are y'all going to get? >> My head. My head already hurt. Let go. Let go. He's a liar. >> Her resistance wasn't just physical. It was emotional chaos. She swung between claiming innocence and feeling attacked. Showing all the signs of someone who had lost control, caught in a spiral between mental instability and criminal behavior. This wasn't a case of a misunderstanding. It was something deeper and more dangerous. [Music] foot down. [Music] That's all the pockets is. >> We understand where you come from, dog, but we just got to make sure everything. Y get all the information. >> Yeah, straight, man. All that exaggerated stuff. That's all. I've been dealing with that so long. >> So, are y'all >> I've been crying for help >> together? >> No, man. I'm a truck driver. When I'm I'm here, I work 6 days, I'm home two days. When I come home for two days, she come over sometimes. >> So, who is she to? Your girlfriend? >> She was my girlfriend. For the past month, I've been trying to get rid of her. >> I packed her [ __ ] I I'm from Swani County. >> Okay. I've been Shani won't help me. So I br her home like I told her. >> She damaged people [ __ ] bro. I'm telling you, man. >> I've been dealing with this. >> So I'm trying to make sense of it. So you saw you drove from >> Let me I wouldn't show you on a camera, but she must have unplugged my Wi-Fi. >> So when did the window damage come happen? >> Just not in Columbia. >> Okay. >> No, I don't. She still damaged it. But like >> you know where the you know where harvest at on if I'm going this way, it's a old That's when she actually did it >> on 249. >> Okay, >> that's 249, right? >> But yeah, I know. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Turns out this wasn't the first time she'd crossed the line. The man had reported her before for slashing wires, breaking into his house, lighting fires in front of his door, and even waving a knife. He had tried to warn authorities, but nothing stuck until now. [Music] Stop it. >> Stop it. >> Stop it. >> Stop it. >> I'm not going to do anything to you. [Applause] Mhm. >> You're hurting my wrist. >> No, stop it. Stop hurting. Stop all my wrist. No, you are hurting your wrist. >> I'm following the report. That's hurting my wrist. You're hurting my wrist. >> That's fine. Don't slip your cuffs again. What is that jacket? Yeah, I'm very nimble. >> You're hurting my wrist. I already told you my hand is hurt. >> Okay, >> stop. It's too tight. >> Stop. Stop. >> Hey, stop. >> Get back in the car. >> Stop it. Stop it. >> Damn. Stop. Let go of me. >> Don't put your hands on me. Do not put your hands off me. >> You put your hands on me. >> Come on. >> Let's do it. Let's do it. >> By this point, officers had no doubt. This wasn't a random outburst. It was a pattern. A deliberate escalating obsession. She was so unhinged, officers had to speed up the transport process for her safety and everyone else's. >> Um, >> yeah, I just need to figure out what the hell happened. I can't barely do that while her doing what the hell she doing. >> He drives coach. >> He driv >> He barely stays home. He told Swany County that she does not stay with him. He drives back and forth. He only stays based in Swan County for two days and goes back on the road. >> What a little bit that I got from him is that they broke up about a month ago. He been trying to get rid of a full month now. They they have dated in the past. They have had common relationship in the past. According to her, she can't she jumped in the back of the truck trying to get something and that's when he took off. So when I caught him, she was in the bed of the truck. told posit she drove you drove all the way from lake from Lavoke in the bed of the truck. >> Was she the better truck when she really >> and that's why I was trying to like make sense what the hell is going on cuz she got when I got out >> I got out. That's when she jumped. >> She mentally disturb her. >> Don't know what it is. Something wrong with her. I don't know. >> Give me a synopsis or what? >> Is she she suffering like mental problem? Is she take medication or something like that? I ain't never seen tech medication, but I know >> she always like this >> like >> when she get mad that she like >> like Yeah. Like I just crying for help but nobody won't help me. They like, "Oh, you got to deal with it." Like what am I supposed to do? >> You know, I never seen her like that though. But I seen like she gets wild and start breaking stuff. >> So when did she get in the bed of your truck? >> At this house. >> At this house. In Lavo. She rode all this from Lavo to here. >> Okay. This where she from. >> In the bed of your truck like that? >> Yeah. This where she from. I didn't turn to get it. This is what happened. I got a RV. >> Okay. >> You I showed you my camera. She was she she unplugging all my my my wires. I didn't know that till I just tried to show you. >> Okay. >> But I I went to the property manager. I said, "Man, what it do?" He say, "Bring your RV." I say, "Bro, this girl at my house tearing up my stuff." He like, "Bring the RV to my house and then you can just keep it here and while you over the road, I'll watch it for you." My RV has a slide out. I don't know if you know what that is. This them outside the property right here. You see all the flashing lights? Yeah. Cuz I'm looking at the camera telling them she's throwing rocks through my RV. So I called them and said, "Oh, we can't do nothing about it." >> So that's why I I was going to bring her. I didn't want her to get arrested. Okay. >> I br here to tell y'all to tell her to get out my truck. >> That's only reason. All this she did that [ __ ] on the way. >> Okay. So I'm like I'm just >> I'm here for her to get >> So 7:00 a.m. you got home. you find outside your uh property. >> She was still there going back and going around. You say tearing up your RV still? >> I didn't do nothing. So, I went and talked to the landlord. >> Okay. Talk to the landlord there. So, y >> bring it. He said, "Bring the RV over here." So, cuz I like I just showed her, I got to go to South Carolina tonight. So, he was like, "Bring it over here and I'll watch it while you gone." Like, I told him, "I'm gone for 6 days. I'm home for 2 days." Okay, >> that's it. Oh, >> she was officially arrested after refusing to leave the vehicle and causing visible damage inside. When she started fighting back, police had no choice but to restrain her. She now faces charges of criminal mischief and resisting arrest, serious offenses that could result in jail time, fines, and possibly a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation. This is a prime example of what happens when a person spirals out of control and no one steps in soon enough. On June 26th, 2024, police were dispatched to the scene after reports of a brawl breaking out. The alleged attacker, a man in a green hoodie, later identified as Shawn Butler, the ex-boyfriend of a waitress named Haley. Apparently, Haley knew Shawn was at the restaurant with his new girlfriend. And that little detail lit the match. Here's what went down when officers showed up. >> Uh we were sitting at the table and they attacked us. They we had we had a young man come in and literally just start jumping on like where's this other >> and then the worker attacked me. So she needs to be fired and sent to prison. I'm pregnant. She needs to go to jail. I don't care. >> Who's her name is Haley back there? >> So you two and then one of the workers that's still here. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Hey, come on. >> We're going to bring you guys out. >> Come here. >> I'm not playing with you. We're gonna stand out here. >> Okay. Listen, I just >> Okay, we'll take care of it. We'll take care of it. Let us help you. >> Let us help you. >> Okay. Okay. Are you the employee that was involved? >> Is she the one that was involved? >> Okay. All right. Let me talk to her. >> What's What's her name? >> Kayie. >> Kaylee. >> Kayie. >> Okay. Hey, Haley. >> Is there a spot you want me to talk to her? We're not in front of all your customers. >> I tried to break it up because his girl I guess >> So these two here, these two here, let's start from there. So we're we're trying to catch up now. So these two here were in here eating. >> Yes. >> Okay. And then what happened? >> And I I don't know. I saw someone. >> So I I was here the whole time. I saw >> All right. So she kind of came in after >> I I was coming out the kitchen. So I don't know. >> Okay. So he was there from the start. >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. So then So these two out here, >> those two young people were sitting there eating and then >> No issues. >> No issues. perfectly fine. Some guy with a blue hoodie came in >> and just came and started punching him and then it just got all to the floor and then we separated them. The other guy left >> but then it all and then they started fighting over there. >> Okay. So, so these two someone just comes in. They start fighting. Do you have cameras? Uh yeah, right there. I'm seeing camera. >> Sean's new girlfriend jumped in to defend him and chaos erupted fast. The situation spiraled, forcing staff and officers to intervene. And that's when things started pointing back to Haley, the waitress, who instead of keeping her distance, was smack dab in the middle of the fight. >> Break it up. How do you get involved in it? >> Um, because I tried to break it up, the girl was on top, the girl. >> The girl basically the girl starts fighting the guy that came in and then she starts pulling her off. And >> so I understand. So So a third guy comes in, starts attacking her boyfriend, then she jumps on the guy trying to get him off. girlfriend. >> Okay. So, these two are trying to defend themselves. >> Started fighting. Me and her started fist fighting. >> Why did you start fighting? >> Because I didn't start I didn't initially start fighting. I pulled her I tried to pull her off, >> right? >> So, then we just started fighting because she hit me. >> So, I'm just I'm not going to let I'm helping out. I'm not You're defending yourself. It's okay. It's okay. I'm I'm with you. I get I'm just trying to understand how this So, after the fact, they're broken up. She's now over there. So So, and then he just runs back there into the kitchen and punch her. Well, he needs to go. >> Do you want to pursue charges against him? Absolutely. >> Okay. But as for the female, do you think she could have been just confused with what was going on with you jumping on her? >> I'm not doing nothing with her because I'll just fight her outside of this. >> No, let's not say that. Yeah. Let's not Let's not say that. Let's not say Do you know her? Do you know her? Yeah. You don't want to do that. You don't want to do that. I'm >> Do you know her? >> No. >> I know you're upset right now. So, yeah. Yeah. So, you don't want to retaliate. That's There's no use to But he came back and followed you after you two were in disengage and attacked you in the kitchen. >> That's why I have this. Yes. Well, it was by that booth, so I still Okay. All right. So, you do wish to pursue charges at least against him? >> Yes. >> Do we know who this third guy is that just came running in? >> I have no idea. >> No idea. It just went down so fast. >> I guess I was coming out the kitchen. I didn't even see it. So, >> are you a manager or something? >> No, I'm I'm a server. >> Okay. All right. And you were just trying to help the group break it up. >> Okay. Kind of crazy, huh? Okay. All right. >> I don't know. >> Do you What's her name? We're gonna get her a vest cuz she has wet pants and that's >> So we're gonna get her a vest. There's her name right here. >> Do we even know who this other guy was? >> Which one? >> The one that came and attacked you first. >> Yes, that's Shawn Butler. S E A N V U C. >> Why would he attack your boyfriend? >> Because they already don't like each other. >> This is when the picture started to clear up. Shawn wasn't just some random guy throwing punches. He had history with Haley. Police started cross-checking witness statements and pulling security footage. Bit by bit, the truth unfolded. Haley had more to do with the whole thing than she was letting on. And instead of coming clean, she started getting ky, raising even more red flags. >> How are you doing with the pregnancy right now? >> Do you need a Do you want a ambulance? >> I don't want an ambulance. No, >> I called for an ambulance. Sorry, she's pregnant. >> Just Just to check. We just got to do that. >> I don't want to get an ambulance. I'm fine. >> Okay. Well, you can reject that once again. >> Yeah, that's you. Do you have a medical condition? >> Just to make sure you're okay. >> So, this Miss Waitress needs to come outside. >> Well, and then I asked him, I said, "Who is she?" Because he's like, "Where's where's Shawn Button?" And I said, "Well, who is the waitress >> to Sean Butler?" He goes, "I don't know." >> No, cuz like she said, he wants to handle on his own. >> And that's fine. They could fight on their own, but what's going on, guys? >> But she's saying, "I don't know. He doesn't know the relationship between Sean Butler, right? So that we got a question. Hey buddy. So yes, we need to find out. All right. So he's just running his mouth and not being cooperative and resistant. >> You know what I'm saying? So I mean we can't even sort anything out cuz he's all over the place now. >> Yeah. >> So they can at least >> Yeah. All right. >> Where's Where's Where's uh the girl? >> Haley. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Haley, can we talk? You want to step out? >> Yeah. >> So we're not right here in the business. >> Hey Haley. So, this third person that was involved in this, who is that? Do we even know who that is? >> No idea. >> So, they know who it is. They told us who it was. >> They came and questioned me about Sean. >> Who's Sean? >> That's my ex, but we haven't been together for a very long time. >> That's evidently who it is. >> Yes. Yes. That's what she's telling me, but that has nothing to do with me. I got punched. I >> So, they say that's who it is. >> Yes, of course. >> Just trying to confirm because they're saying that that's >> Where's Where's Butler? >> Right here. Can you unlock it? Can I see who you've called in the last hour? >> Yeah, >> I call him. >> Who would you call? >> Sean Kirkland, my dad. Everybody. >> My niece. >> Why'd you call Shawn? >> Because me and him, we have a whole call. >> Cops hit her with the cold, hard evidence, phone logs showing she called Shawn just before the fight broke out. But Haley kept denying it. So officers flipped the strategy, using witness testimony to trap her in her own contradictions. At that point, her lies weren't just shady. They were actively obstructing the investigation, which can come with some serious consequences. >> She's downloading this the She's downloading it now. So, they're here. He's sitting here. Um, >> female >> female sitting here. He comes in. >> Bam. They go out. >> Okay. >> She jumps out. They're down on the ground. >> Okay. The waitress immediately comes out, joins in that host. He's immediately pulling her apart. Manager comes out, begin to pull apart. The two males scoop this way and fighting. This little marquees a little further over. I call it a marquee. A-frame thing, whatever. A little over. So, it's hard to see. They're It's actually the host, the waitress, and the uh the manager on the female like trying to pull. But now she's over here. The female's clearly away from everything. The female's like just sitting up like this female >> is sitting up >> and like she's like >> she's done. She's just sitting there. >> Yeah. >> Home home. >> What you saw? I know you've already told your story a million times. >> Well, I know. I'm leaving the party walking back and then somebody said call the cops. I'm like I look over and there's two guys on the ground fighting. So I come over try to break him up. uh customer he just left me and like got him out broke him up and the one guy that he got contained walked over there want to go back. So the girl jumps on the guy. >> Our server goes there tries to break the girl off >> and the girl starts fighting the girl >> and they they break off and >> then this is where they are right >> somewhere. The girl's right here, the guys are over there. >> Okay. >> Once officers had consistent statements, solid video footage, and verified motives, they made the call. Haley was no innocent bystander. She'd stirred the pot, jumped into the fight, and tried to play the victim card. In reality, she helped escalate the situation and lied throughout the process enough to get slapped with charges for assault and disturbing the peace. >> Will I be able to put the rings in that? >> Yeah, we'll take that all. >> This is what I'm going to do. Okay. Are you willing to give your rings to your manager? >> Um, >> if you don't, that's fine. >> Yeah. Would I be able to have my dad get them or something? >> Probably not your dad. No. Okay. >> No. Well, they'll just do it when you get down to the jail. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, you're being arrested right now for battery. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Like like I like I explained to you. I think you have more involved in this than you actually want to than you actually want to just >> fine. >> Just tell I mean that right there says it all. >> No, no, no. I was talking to >> I'll go explain. I'll go explain. I'll explain to you in a second. >> Yes. Okay. >> Yeah, you're fine. This is all yours. >> Yeah. >> So, listen. Come with me. We're going to go to that car. Mhm. I know you called Sean. >> I know you knew who they were because you told your manager you couldn't wait on them. >> I don't know. You know how I know that I don't know that >> cuz you told your manager you can't wait on them. >> I had specifically >> I'll come to you in a second. I'll let you know. Just give me a second. >> You said I can't wait on them people cuz I know >> I never said that. So, and then miraculously Sean just shows up, knows exactly where they are, and starts this fight. Miraculously. >> Okay. >> Right. So, and then kicking somebody while they're down. No. >> Yeah. Well, at that point where we were just fighting, all I was seeing was red. I didn't know. So, >> do you have anything on you that we need to Can you send Beatric out here so I can get her searched, please? >> No, there's nothing on there. >> I know, but I still have to do it. I want to make sure that everything's good to go. That's all. Turns out Haley lost it emotionally seeing her ex with someone new. She called Shawn, lured him in, and basically sparked a showdown. Then she joined the brawl, went after innocent people, and tried to act like she had nothing to do with it. But between the security cams and witness statements, her whole act unraveled. March 23rd, 2024, police received a call about a theft at Carter. Store employees reported that two women had stolen merchandise. One of them was seen stuffing items into her shirt and handbag before leaving. Officers arrived in time to stop a woman in a Mercedes that matched the suspect description. And here's what happened next. >> Hello. >> How you doing? >> How you doing? >> I'm official. Okay. Um, basically want to talk to you about something. You match the description of a female that we're looking for right now. Why you out of breath? What's going on? >> Oh, no. I was on the phone. I just got wet. >> Okay. >> You match what? You match the description of a female we're looking for. You mind if I get your ID? >> Yeah, >> I match the description. >> Did you uh go off Carters at all? >> Did we do what? >> Did you go to Cartis? >> I had brought something from there. >> So, you brought something. >> What did you get? >> I got my receipt and everything. >> Okay. All right. We'll just get your ID and then we'll back in the description. >> We'll confirm if it's you or not. All right. All right. So, she do got a Carter's bag. So, she's brought out my receipts and everything. >> So, just ask. >> Copy. I'll be on. >> So, what? >> Oh, she got a Carter's bag. >> Beautiful. >> Okay, we're going to figure it out, >> guys. As she was running the corner and her breasts were suddenly huge because she stuffed all the product down her shirt um and into her purse. About how much did you think they took? >> Probably like $1,000. >> $1,000. >> Wow. >> You can ride and itemize her seat. >> We're out with one of the females. Um, she does have a Carter's bag, but we'll be at the Nike store. >> Everything. What What did she say about Carter? What was supposed to be said about Carter? >> All right. They're at the Nike store. At least one of them. Are you able to walk over there and ID them? When approached, the suspect showed clear signs of nervousness. Her breathing was heavy and rapid. This often happens when someone has just run away or is afraid of being caught. Meanwhile, another officer arrived at the store and confirmed with employees that these were the same suspects who had stuffed items into their clothing and ran. The police decided to detain the suspect for identity verification. >> Not under arrest. All right, you just detain right now. All right. Well, I ain't doing that. So, I know ain't under your phone over there. >> Okay. >> Okay. Well, right now you're just going to be detained. Okay. So, I have to place you in cuffs. >> I'm being detained though. >> You're not under arrest. Like you said, you match description of somebody that stole items from Carters. Okay. You have once they come over here where they say it is or not you, then we'll talk to you on that. Right. Oh, >> that's still not all my stuff right there. >> That's why I said like once they confirm it is or not you, if it's not you, then we'll let you go. If it is you, then we'll have a talk about that. Right. We'll head back there and look at cameras. You guys got cameras, right? >> Yes, we do. >> I'm just going to read you something, too. Okay. Cuz you are entitled to your rights. You're not under arrest. You're just detained, but I have to read you your rights. Okay. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say may use as evidence against you. >> I want to talk to them. I'm hitting your partners cuz I'm trying to figure out what I supposedly, too. >> I'm just trying to figure out, too. Um, apparently we just got a call about, you know, two uh two females matching the description you're wearing. Um, my partner saw you go inside the vehicle. Um, and that's pretty much it. Um, someone just stealing from Carter's. You have a bag right there. >> Okay. But you have a Carter's bag. Okay. And you know, we have to make sure that everything's accounted for in that bag. >> Okay. >> But um, that's what we're here for. >> And it's just kind of a little suspicious that you're you're not even in the driver's seat. You're in the passenger seat. So, where's your friend? >> Where's who? >> Where's the driver? >> My sister. >> Yeah, I'm waiting on her. She she want she going to hit you know >> I don't know >> how long it's going to take her to get over here >> who >> who you wait on >> I'm waiting on my partner to see >> basically they go bring somebody over here right say whether it is you or whe it's not you like I told you if it's not you then we let you go if it is you then we have a conversation see what they want to do right When approached, the suspect showed clear signs of nervousness. They take their boat. They get a valid. >> Okay. She was in there. I I would like to know if she seen me, too. >> Definitely. >> Okay. >> We're going to walk behind the truck here real quick. >> Positive ID. >> Okay. >> Copies. >> What's going to happen? I'll go over there and go to come over and see. Yeah. >> What did you say? >> I want to know. >> His sister was walking somewhere. If you don't remember, >> she was out here with her baby daddy. That's what I'm saying. I don't know if she left with him. I'll have to call her. >> Gotcha. Is this your car? >> No. >> Where's the car you came with? >> This the car I came in, but it's not my car. >> She was sitting in town. >> Okay. Where's your sister? >> Right there that I got. All my stuff is right there with my receipt. So, she said >> Where's your sister at? >> I don't know. She might have went with her baby daddy. She was out here with him. >> You want to call her? >> I Y'all going to take these off? >> Yeah. You want to call her? >> Yeah, I'll call her. >> Okay. >> Let's call her. >> I'm not taking off the cuffs. >> You want me to call her with the cops on? >> You just have to call me with the cops on. >> I know, but it's uncomfortable. >> You're just being detained for right now. >> Probably text. >> Okay. Um, >> did you leave with Burke or you still here? >> She gone. >> Okay, perfect. We'll do a warrant for her and then >> you're going to be taking a ride, too. You can hang up the phone now. >> Taking a ride? What? I didn't steal anything. >> I I have my stuff right here. I didn't steal anything. >> Did we recover the items? >> Uh, >> those are the those are the items that apparently she paid for. >> Right. So, you're trying to take me to jail and I didn't take anything. >> Well, they have you on camera. >> I didn't take anything. >> But I It says otherwise you did. >> Where is it at on camera? Tell her to show me. >> They looked at it already. >> Officers noticed that the woman wasn't in the driver's seat. She was sitting in the passenger seat. When asked about the other person, she started giving vague roundabout answers, trying to cover for her accomplice, who had already fled. The police didn't jump to conclusions, but continued gathering evidence. >> You're saying you paid for these? >> Yes. >> Is there a receipt in here for these? >> Okay. >> You guys ready yet or no? >> Yes. >> She want to talk? >> Yeah, she talked. She said basically uh she went in there to buy some stuff. She didn't see nothing. All that stuff is on the receipt except that's in the bag and it's right there. Okay. >> I thought y'all said y'all was going to get her to identify me so I could show her that I didn't take anything. >> Yeah, she identifies you. Let me put the flashlight in your face. She identifies you. Except this is a receipt from Sanford. >> That's what I'm saying. All my stuff is paid for when I went in there. I was exchanging. She held my stuff at the counter literally for me. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> She held my stuff at the counter. So, what are y'all thinking? You held my stuff at the counter. That's the same bag I had. >> What car is y'all's? >> That's the same That's not my car. >> Is this the car you guys came in? No. >> She's chilling in. She was just chilling in when I got her car. >> So, is there anything in the car? >> No. >> You got the keys for the car? >> No. Can we search the car? >> No. >> If you going to take me, go ahead and take me. I ain't got time for all this. Go ahead and do what y'all going to do. She saying this and that. I know I'm going to beat it cuz I didn't steal nothing out of there. So, >> it's all good cuz uh we'll have security come over and tow it and uh we'll just have to do the inventory prior to towing. >> Oh, what you got to do? >> You want to search? >> She's saying she told me something. She lying. She didn't see me steal nothing. Let me see my time. >> No, it's okay. >> No, hang it up cuz it's calling somebody. I don't try to call nobody. You can't hang it It's calling somebody. Could you hang it up? I don't know who's on the phone. >> I don't know who's on my phone. Hang it up. >> We'll do it in a second. >> Let's go over here. So, >> have somebody sitting on my phone. I don't know who that is. >> Okay. Come on. >> Let's go over here. I got stuff in my back seat. >> We have to search you. Okay. Before you go in. >> Okay. >> Okay. When we get to the our police department, the officers over there, I'm pretty sure they'll let you call somebody >> or give you a number to where you can call. >> Can I call her? >> She needs to do our job now. We have to do our job. She had to do a exchange because she had twin baby boys that were a year old. >> Yeah. But look at this. Card declined. Cancelled. Card declined. Cancelled. So they're using they're using stolen credit cards. Look at all these different cards that are declined. >> Perfect. >> Whoa. >> Cancelled. Cancelled. Cancelled. >> Declined. Declined. We'll see if it's on her property now. And on video is going to show her stuff and all the stuff in her. This is a no sale. Every single transaction on here is declined. >> When officers checked her credit card transactions, they discovered that all of them had been declined. If she had actually purchased the items, at least one charge would have gone through. But when every transaction is declined, there are two possibilities. She had tried using multiple stolen cards to buy merchandise, or she was using a fake card with no real funds. At this point, police shifted their investigation. Calm down. >> That's okay. >> Okay. Yes. You're going to have to stay like that cuz she's going to keep slamming her head into the ground. So, what are we doing? Jane's going to transport us straight to jail. >> Thanks. Stop trying to stop. That's okay, girl. I don't have [ __ ] to look for. I'm just >> I don't care. >> Stop. >> Oh my lord. >> This is why This is why I wish we had a double cage. >> At least one double cage car. At this point, we should just lay her on the side of the road and wait for transport because she's all >> She's going to She's going to keep hurting herself, though. I guess it is what it is. >> She was eventually taken into custody, fully restrained. Officers remained calm and professional, avoiding unnecessary force while prioritizing deescalation and safety. Listen, let's Sorry, just real quick. >> Let's No, I'm not trying to be rude. All that's kind of just background. Let's go to where we left for a second. >> Oh, for the second. Okay. >> What happened in that brief little gun time? Okay. So, I'm sitting on the porch. >> Hold on. And from right when we left to right when she went in handcuffs. I want that minute. >> That's what we want. >> So, I'm I'm sitting on the porch. I hear I hear her yelling and screaming inside. And so, I'm thinking she's uh she's going after my son. So, and I couldn't get in. The door wouldn't open. So, I don't know if she was holding. >> So, you said that what did you say? I'm sorry. >> I heard her screaming. And >> so, you were sitting outside and then and then I was trying to get in the door and I couldn't get in the door and and I don't know if she was holding it because I couldn't get in. So, and I that's when I banged on the door. That's why when I don't know who was in the cop car, I waved him down because I can't now I can't get in. I'm hearing screaming. So, I just wanted to make sure everything was good or whatever. And I hear her get louder. But then he comes out and he she put his hands. I mean, cuz you can see where she pulled him. You can see where his clothes been pulled. >> Who? >> Jordan. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So, she she touched them because he didn't say nothing. He don't want to touch. >> This case is a textbook example of how domestic violence and mental health crisis often collide. While China may need long-term psychological treatment, she's still responsible for the choices she made. In the end, she was booked into jail and charged with domestic battery, assault on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest. On November 10th, 2021, police received a call about a woman slumped over the wheel of a Mercedes SUV parked right in her own driveway. When officers arrive, they find her unconscious, vomit stains around her, and completely unresponsive. Hi. >> Hello. >> What's going on? >> You okay? >> You don't seem okay. >> Well, I'm in my driveway. >> Right. You're in your driveway. You got some vomit around you and you're passed out behind the wheel. >> Gather myself. >> Okay. You go ahead and gather yourself. >> You want to come outside? Let's step out. Let's get you out of the car. Okay. >> Absolutely. Yeah. >> Absolutely. >> Do you live here? Of >> course I live here. I own I own this house. >> You know where you are? What house? What's the number? >> 57. >> Okay. Here. Come out here. >> Who call the police? Let me know. >> Well, somebody was concerned. I mean, you're unconscious in your car. That's kind of concerning. Back up. Are you okay? >> I'm fine. I'm >> What narcotics do you use? I'm >> waking up. >> What narcotics do you use? >> Don't use any narcotics. I'm waking up. Actually, I'm not sure exactly what's going on. >> What's going on? >> I don't know. >> You don't know. >> You don't want to go down to the hospital? >> No. >> Okay. >> Where's your kid at? >> Working. Where's your child at? >> My kids are inside. >> Who's been watching them? >> Their sisters have been watch. >> So, is there an adult inside? >> There is a 14year-old, a 13year-old. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> I'm trying to knock on the door. Sit down on the bucket. >> Sit down. >> You're slumped over the wheel. You have three kids in the house. The toddler's in a back bedroom by himself crying. And you're out here passed out. >> He's in the back bedroom. >> He was. >> Is this appropriate behavior for a mother? >> Absolutely not. And this has never happened. Not even once, sir. >> Okay. So, the people who have told us that this is a reoccurring thing, they're they're lying to us. >> No, I don't know who is telling you that. >> I'm not sure. But we're going to we're going to figure this out. >> Yeah, of course. Of course, because I am a good mother. >> Did you use any drugs last night? >> No, I haven't. I am. >> Cuz you are not acting normal right now. Okay. And I can explain it to you. >> Okay. >> Go ahead. >> Just listen to me out. >> I understand because of my record. It doesn't look good. >> I I never I didn't even look you up. >> Just saying. Okay. Doesn't look good. I'm so stressed out. I don't know if I'm in a separation. I don't know which way my life is going. I am on the edge of a breakdown. Instead of slapping on the cuffs right away, officers first check Chelsea's condition. Is she overdosed, drunk, something worse? When asked about her kids, she insists they're home with her sister. But when officers step inside, let's just say what they find is far from okay. >> So, I know you were a little confused when I asked you where your kid was a little bit ago. Do you want to know where he was exactly? >> I told you where he was. >> Where was he in the house? I wasn't in the house. >> Right. That's what I'm getting at. So, I'm just going to tell you where he was in the house. >> He was hiding behind a chair in that room alone naked next to this knife. >> Is that normal or does that concern you whatsoever? >> Absolutely not. Because I left him in the hands of my teenage girls. >> Okay. >> Which I thought was legal. I thought I was able to do >> Listen, if if your girls are capable of looking after them, that's fine. But you were >> unconscious with vomit all over you in the driver seat of a car. So I'm just trying to figure out how long has it been since you checked on your kids? >> How um an hour or so? >> What happened between when you checked on them and you ended up in the car passed out like that? >> An hour or so. >> But what happened? What took place between you checking on them and you ending up in the car in that condition? >> What what were you doing? What what happened? Okay. So, I had left >> and what was I doing >> something? I was still trying to gather my thoughts because I don't want DCF. I don't want anybody else. I don't want >> Okay. Well, do your best to gather your thoughts. Just to be clear, these thoughts are in the last two hours, so it shouldn't be too hard to gather them. >> No. No, sir. Please, out of all respect, guys, you know what happened across the street? >> I don't know. >> My son died right across the street. >> You're what? >> My son >> Okay. He He what? >> Logan Goodman died. >> Okay. >> Right across the street. >> I'm sorry to hear that. >> A year ago. >> Okay. I'm sorry to hear that. >> It's been very hard coping with that. Do you recall what happened between you checking on your kids and how you ended up in the wheel behind behind the wheel in the condition? >> I am getting there, sir. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Chelsea tries to spin the story hoping for sympathy. But as officers search deeper, things start falling apart fast and the house a complete disaster. >> My son has been teething. >> Okay. >> Okay. And every time that the police come around, okay, something happens to one of my children. >> Where's the guy that lives here? >> My husband? >> Yeah, >> he's at work. >> No, he's not cuz his work just showed up and they said they haven't heard from him. >> Are you serious? >> Is he passed out in here somewhere? >> Am I allowed to? >> We're going to go check. You're going to stay here for a second. >> This is my house. Just hold on a second. The tape? >> Yes. Right now you are. Yes. We're trying to figure out a lot of stuff here. So, just hang out for a minute. >> Hit the tape for >> Sit down, please. >> Okay. Can I please go to the bathroom? >> Sit down. We will figure that out after. Sit down. What's up? >> Why were you asleep on the bathroom for when there's a bed right there? >> I don't know. There's no reason. What's going on? >> He's working his ass off. That's why. >> What is going on? I'll come over here. Come over here. I'll explain all of it to you. >> What's the real question here? Girls, come here. Please. These officers are having a hard time letting me go to the bathroom, so I have to be right here. I want you to hold this so I can go. If >> you help her cover herself. I can't let her go in the bathroom by herself. And she's saying that she has to do that right now. So, >> I do. This is how, baby. This is how I have to potty. >> I'm telling her to hold it, but she's >> This is how I have to pee. Why? What is the problem? >> I I can't let her go into the bathroom by herself right now. She's detained. I'm not going to let her go into a room separate by herself. >> Why is she detained? >> I'm not telling her she has to do that, but she's saying that she has to go to the bathroom. So, I'm not going to stop her. >> She's telling me I can't go inside to use the bathroom. >> Can we get this over with if that's what you're going to do right now? You're covered. Do whatever you have to do. >> Can we please >> Both adults inside are clearly out of control. The situation shifts from bad parenting to serious child neglect. And just when you think it can't get worse, Chelsea, in the middle of the chaos, urinates right in front of her own daughter. >> I can tell you everything. >> Okay. >> Oh, you want to try this again? We can go for round four. What happened the last couple hours? >> Yes, >> it is now. What time is it? >> You're welcome to sit again if you want. >> Thank you. Can I have a cigarette? >> If there's one here. [Music] Is that good? >> Yes. >> Finally got some good news. He got a cigarette. >> You got a cigarette for him? >> Absolutely. >> We're great parents. Okay. We've been under a lot of stress. >> That might be the case, but obviously right at this this moment, it doesn't look like you guys are. >> I know >> we lost our son right there. >> I understand that. >> But have you been in that position? >> No, I haven't. But regardless of the situation, still need to care for your children. I I mean, I can't care for my children. >> Can't explain that enough. So, >> it's our responsibility at this point to make sure, for one, that the children are okay, and two, that you guys are fit enough at the moment to care for them. >> Of course, we are. >> Well, right now, you don't you don't appear to be at all. >> I don't appear to be at all. I'm tired. >> Let me see something real quick. Do you mind if I shine this light here? >> No. Go ahead. You got to do >> so. You can see this as well. Correct. >> What? >> Her pupils don't react to light. >> No, I don't know what you want me to do. >> Typically, I mean, if somebody somebody's under the influence of >> narcotics >> cuz we've been pushing ourselves, baby. We are living across from where our son died. We need to get out of here. It's not fair that we can't get out of here. No matter how hard we try, every day I wake up and I see my dead son on the [ __ ] pavement. Put it there to make me look like an even more of a dumbass. >> You want to sit down as well? >> Yeah, baby. We're detained, honey. We got to sit down and abide by the rules. Nobody should be in our room. >> Just sit down. Okay. >> Okay. Nobody should be in our room, sir. There is no search for it. >> Nobody's in your room. >> Officers check her pupils. No response to light. That's a classic sign of opioid, heroin, or meth use. Instead of arguing with Chelsea, they keep the investigation on track, refusing to let her play on emotions or distract them from the facts. >> Everything happened. >> Come over here and help me out with your car. You are arresting me. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Why are you arresting me, sir? >> For everything that we discussed. Okay. >> We covered everything several times. And if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them, but I don't know what questions you have. >> Yeah. Why am I being arrested? >> Well, that's definitely something we already answered. >> Okay. >> It's going to be Do you want me to specifically It's going to be for neglect. >> Neglect? >> Yes. I'll put the cigarette in your mouth if you want to keep smoking it. >> Yes. >> Robert, >> we're going to go. We'll talk to him. We're going to go over here to the car. >> Please do one more big drag. >> Can I please? >> Come on. We This is your second cigarette. We've been here for way too long. Let's just get this over with. >> Give it a good drag. Come on. >> All right. Drop it. >> There you go. >> Drop it. You were >> at this point. >> I was sleeping. >> I get it. But >> which alcohol and Mike will do that to you. You'll definitely pass out. >> Oh yeah, I was sleeping. That's what I was doing. I was sleeping. >> At the end of the day, it's >> she was watching the kids and she was >> That might be the case, but at the end of the day, it's both your responsibility. >> Nobody woke me up and said, "Hey, I'm leaving." By the end of the night, both adults are arrested. Chelsea faces child neglect charges while her boyfriend is charged with reckless endangerment of a minor. Bail, $2,500 each. Their sentences, 36 months of probation. But wait, it doesn't end there. By early 2024, Chelsea and her boyfriend are back behind bars. This time, they lured a 73-year-old man, then robbed him. Now, Chelsea is sitting in jail facing multiple felony charges. On August 12th, 2024 in Florida, police were dispatched to a Walmart in Florida after reports that two women believed to be tourists from Jamaica were caught shoplifting. And here's what happened when officers arrived on the scene. >> And how old are you? >> 31. >> 31. >> Do you guys have ID cards or driver's license? >> You don't have any form of ID? Like if we look up your name, there's not going to be an ID that comes out. >> I don't have mine on me. >> Then do you have one? >> Yeah. Okay. >> I have an idea. >> Yeah. Is it out of Florida? >> Is it Where's it out of? Please go >> Jamaica. >> Jamaica. >> Do you have one or no? >> So, let me explain something to you guys. Okay. Um, >> they have you on camera. >> Okay. We're trying to collect your guys information. >> And if we can get the information like what you're saying, all these things, maybe a phone number. >> If we can get that, there's a chance you guys might be able to go home today. Okay? If not, you're going to be going to jail today. Okay? Um, you can either give you a court date that you go to or you just go straight to jail and you see the judge. I don't have a friend of mine information. >> Yeah. Okay. So, but you guys don't have an address where you guys live. >> Not off the map. >> You know, off the map. >> No, not that I know out of my head right now. >> Okay. Are you You guys have phones on you right now? >> Yes. >> Can you pull up on Apple? >> Someone's supposed to be picking up. >> Someone's supposed to be picking you guys up. >> Is this someone that you're staying with? >> How did you guys get here? >> He dropped us off. >> They dropped you off. I got I have baby stuff cuz I have two kids. >> Okay. You have two kids. >> So you guys are just visiting from here. >> Where you guys Where are you visiting from? >> Thank you. >> From Jamaica. How long you guys been here? Right away, neither woman had any form of ID, which was already suspicious. When asked for their residential address in the US, they couldn't provide a clear answer, raising concerns about their identity and immigration status. >> Ask some questions, please. >> What What did they want to ask? >> Um, you are saying that um if we answered questions, we would be able to go home tonight. >> Yeah. So the problem is, right, is you guys are visiting from here. You have no identification on you, right? So I can't verify who you are, right? You don't have a Jamaican ID. We're not in Jamaica, right? So >> passport picture. >> Where is it at? >> My phone. >> Okay. Um, that's the only form of identification you have is a picture. >> A picture of it on me now? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. On me now. Right now. >> Right now. So, but that that's the problem, right? Is you don't live here. You're visiting. So, you're going to have to go to the jail tonight and get it taken care of because you're visiting, right? If you lived here in the Tri County, I'd probably be able to give you a court date and you'd have to sign piece of paper saying that you'd go to court. But because you guys are visiting, >> that's not how it works. >> What did you pay for? What you trying to do for the stuff? >> You No, you want fresh chargers. You walked out with it. >> I know, but I had baby stuff in there. I had essentials. I s I really needed and could not afford to buy which I understand it was, but I couldn't pay for them. You have to make sacrifice and pay for them just to avoid all of these things. That's not how it works. >> I don't know if he could, >> you know, he could tell us to tell me he can. >> We can go to a regular register. >> No, he would just tell the to >> as much as I don't. >> That's not how it works. You've already passed. >> I understand, but you look at him, which means he probably has something. >> Under Florida law, if you leave the checkout area without paying, it's still theft. even if you claim you were planning to come back and pay later. And yes, this law applies even if the stolen items are basic necessities like baby formula or pain medication. >> She does have an anklet on her ankle. So, jewelry, >> necklace. Um, >> so I see you guys bought milk. The milk is not going to be able to go with you. The vape's not going to be able to go with you. >> Um, what kind of medication is that? >> It's an anti. >> All right. Is it a pres prescribed to you? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Anything in your bra? >> No. >> Good. >> Yeah. >> Leave your hand. >> Leave your stuff down. >> Leave your stuff in your bag. >> We will have to go through your bag, though. >> Oh my gosh. >> All right. Okay. >> If you resist, you're going to get another charge. >> Hands behind your back. >> Wait. Can I have >> another charge? >> Danielle, one step at a time. right now. We're just going to go have you sit in the car. >> Okay. >> That's not how we do things. So, >> you're going to go over there. They're going to hook you in. You're going to go, you're going to sell just for a bit, maybe alone. Maybe there'll be like one or two other people in there, right? You're going to go through the process. You're going to see the judge in the morning. Then they're going to >> I can't stay over. >> Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. They're going to give you a court date and then you're going to be let go. Okay, that's literally it. That's all it is. >> No, that's not how it works. Okay. >> Is there any way I cannot get told to >> No, not if I have an a different ID. >> Is there a anything? >> What do you mean different ID? >> Like my passport. >> You're not But you you guys are visiting from here. So that's not how it works, right? >> If I'm not visiting, can >> So are you lying to me now? >> I'm visiting. I'm visiting visiting. I can truly appease it because Daniel, I'm not playing this game with you, right? If you're lying, I'm trying to help you guys out. But if you're saying now you're lying. >> At one point, one of the women suddenly changed her story, thinking she could talk her way out of it. What she didn't realize was that lying about her identity would only make things worse, adding more charges to her record. >> Okay. >> Can I take my phone to show you my >> This isn't going to work. heavy on your back. >> Wait, wait, wait, wait. Can I give you You said it's not going to work. Why is it not going to work? >> Because that's a North Carolina ID. >> Simon, grab it. Where is it? >> No sharps. No, >> nothing out of a pen. Maybe >> a pen. >> It's right there, sir. >> Where? >> Can you hold my hand and guide my hand? >> I see it. this one here. I'll hold this. >> Sorry, there's stuff falling off. >> That's okay. I'll hold them. >> I'm showing you. >> Hold on. So, I'm I'm happy that you did this for us. Okay. We're still going to put your handcuffs. >> Hold on. I'll explain. We're still going to put you in handcuffs. You're going to move the car. We have some paperwork we have to do and then we'll decide where we go from there. Okay. But this is this helps your case a little bit. Okay. >> Can you put the that license back? >> Yeah. They're going to they're going to adjust it and everything. So again, I patted you down. Is there anything on you that I missed? >> I asked considered contraband. Whether it's drugs, whether it's on me at all, >> tucked up, stuck anywhere. >> No, I can strip right here in front of everyone. >> So I'm justing you the opportunity to let us know. >> No, nothing at all. >> Okay. Is there ma'am? >> Any again? Anything on you going to poke her, stick me? Okay. Is there anything? >> No. >> Anything in your bowl? >> Nothing tucked up, stuck anywhere, put anywhere. Okay. >> Maybe it's time for them to stop having kids if they can't afford to support them. Life in the US isn't easy if your entire survival plan revolves around stealing. And now their children may have to spend some time away from their mothers. >> That's not That's not how we do things. You'll you'll be able to call her later. >> Okay. >> Now, are you lying to me about your name? >> No, it's right here. I'm just telling her that it's right here. >> She's getting resistance, too. >> Okay. She has the wrong date of birth. >> Yeah. She's getting resisting. And so, Dana, you're getting two charges. Okay. So, you're getting the the theft and then the resisting for lying to me. And then you're getting the uh the uh the theft. Okay. Hey, can you just take her out to the car and like >> Yeah. Where's your car at? >> It's very Stop. No, >> I'm just making sure my thing out, which now >> just watch this one because >> I'm not. >> All right. >> Hey, so I got someone else coming out. I just needed to watch her because I'm still trying to get the paperwork. And that one, she's getting resisting, too. >> So, you see there's nothing inside my car when you got in here. If I find anything, you're responsible for it. Okay? >> I'm just letting you know cuz you saw that there was nothing in here. But if I take you out and there's stuff in here, you are the one that's responsible for it. Okay? In that chair. In the end, both women were taken to jail. Britney was charged with petty theft. Her younger sister faced theft charges as well, plus additional charges for resisting an officer and providing a false identity. On September 16th, 2024 in Oklahoma, police responded to a domestic violence call involving a 39-year-old woman and her 67year-old father. The father had a valid reason for refusing her the car, and his threat to call the cops was clearly defensive, not provocative. As for the metal rod in his hand, it was a defensive tool. There's no evidence he struck first >> here and have a seat on this chair. >> What happened around at me? >> Huh? >> He's swinging a crowbar around. >> Is that because you hit him with a shovel? >> No, it was because he had a crowbar, man. >> So, he had a crowbar >> one that had the crowbar the whole time we were out here. >> Uhhuh. >> He's like swinging around. >> How How close was he to you? >> Close. Cuz he's >> Sit down, please. >> He's moving across. >> Jessica, sit down, please. >> Can you answer my question, please? I'm not trying to be >> Sit down, please. But now is not the time. I'll talk to you a little bit in a second. Okay. >> Wait. I was going for your protection and your destiny. It's [ __ ] >> Yeah. You also have meth. So that was not mine. I didn't kill you. I don't care. >> She just said I'm going to kill him. >> Said he's going to she's going to kill him. [Music] Man, >> where's he at? >> He ran in to see if he can find the shovel in the house. >> He took it inside. She took it inside. >> Jessica's over-the-top reactions hinted at a total lack of emotional control, possibly worsened by drug use. And sure enough, police found meth in her wallet. She denied it, but physical evidence speaks louder than words. To make matters worse, her father told officers this wasn't the first time she'd lashed out violently. Darn crap right there. I'm sorry. I I threw that out there because she throws it in the front door. >> Hey, someone's going to come out here and take pictures of your injuries. Okay. >> You said you don't want any medical. You don't want an ambulance? >> No, I don't think so. >> Do you plan on going to the hospital afterwards? >> Sir, >> she's going to kill me when she gets out. So, it doesn't matter anyway. She's going to kill me. >> I didn't do anything. I was protecting myself cuz he swing crowbar at me. Give me my Why is all Ask the lady, please. I'm sorry you don't like me. It's whatever. I don't care. I'm going to sue the you. I'm going to sue the out of you. >> You won't even listen. I know who the you are now. Psycho. You guys got a power trip. You're going to get sued. >> So you just hold on to your >> I'm holding on. >> Yeah, you better cuz I'm suing the [ __ ] out of you. I called you for protection and you heard my mean >> when you shouldn't have pulled away on [ __ ] >> You're getting charged with you up. You guys are a police department. >> Just start out there and say uh >> what >> whatever happened today and what made you call us? What were you all arguing about? >> Where's that? >> Just statement of incident. Just start anywhere there. Yep. Is Is that why she hits you with a >> She says I'm psycho and I'm I've got dementia and I need to have my brain checked and she's going to sue me and her lawyer's going to sue me and >> sign that right there. Says you made the statement. If you think Jessica can afford to hire a lawyer, what do you think about that situation? >> She can. >> Absolutely. This was a textbook case of a toxic codependent relationship. The father knows she's dangerous, but still can't bring himself to cut ties completely. And unless that changes, the risk of future violence remains dangerously high. >> So, you know, >> you slept out here last night. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Finally, >> your own house. >> Why, Ed? >> Well, because I didn't want to be around it. >> And then I got >> the trailer had a bunch of brush on it that I've been cleaning up. >> Yep. >> So, I just climbed up on top. Take a picture real quick on your >> pull your elbow. She's going to get a photo of >> I just climbed up on it. I climbed up on that rug. >> Yep. What >> What do you think you need us to do to help you, Ed? >> Cuz it's escalating and we're afraid you're going to get seriously hurt. >> It's going to happen anyway when she gets out. When you let her out, I'm going to probably die. >> That's the way. >> But you probably need to go get >> and her friends are >> You probably need to go get a protective order. >> Her friends want to kill me, too. >> Old guy up on Broadway. She pawns your stuff. Yeah. And >> so all my I believe that all my gold and my silver's already gone. >> I believe it. >> She's, you know, she's a drug user. >> Well, that's what I've been told. >> Well, uh, thousand%, Ed, and that's what they do. They steal your stuff and sell it so they can go get their drugs. I mean, we can tell you that till we're blue in the face, but it's up to you to take action on it. >> She's going to start blowing your phone up here when she gets to county jail. She's going to start calling you. >> I'm throwing in the toilet. You bonded her out last time and that's what Gilbert was telling you and you got mad at him for bringing that up. >> It's tough love. You can't go down there and bond her out. >> You need to go to county courthouse. >> Okay. >> I can't believe that I didn't do anything. I'm trying to [Music] >> I also heard you say you're going to kill him. So I also heard you say you're going to kill him. So that probably doesn't help you out very much. >> I'm sorry. my lawyer knows everything. >> Okay. >> It'll be in the report. >> It'll be in the report and on body camera. >> And you're little [ __ ] You're really up for this. I'm trying to tell you I didn't do anything wrong. >> Whoa. Now we go with the racial slurs. >> Wow. >> Whoa, >> you stepped out of line. >> Even after being arrested, Jessica kept lashing out, cussing at officers, using racial slurs, showing zero remorse. Instead of cooperating, she threatened to sue both the cops and her own father. She was taken to jail and now faces multiple charges: domestic assault with a dangerous weapon, drug possession, and obstruction of justice. This case demands serious consequences, not just to protect her father, but to stop her from harming anyone else in the future. [Music]
