Tonight, a Fox 10 investigation has confirmed the identity of the Mount Vernon police officer, who's now at the center of an internal investigation following our reporting last week. The officer's name is Newman Brazier. >> I'm not a smart man, but even I know you don't tase somebody who's already handcuffed. Down in Mount Vernon, Alabama, they said, "Hold my sweet tea and watch this bad decision." Officer caught on body cam tasing a cuffed man, then dragging him across the jail floor like he's hauling in a catfish that owed him money. Policy says you don't tase restrained folks. But I guess in Mount Vernon, policy is more of a suggestion. Kind of like accountability in government. The chief said discipline him. The mayor said no. Nothing says leadership like protecting the abuser instead of the abused. film everything. When the people film, the system shakes.
