He was charged with possession of fentanyl with intent to sell, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, tampering with evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked at the Sheriff Perry Hall inmate detention facility and had a bond of $20,500. Detectives stopped their car initially for impeding traffic in the left lane and illegal window tent. Both are legit traffic violations. So, the stop itself was completely legal. Once the car pulled over, things got interesting. As the occupants were getting out of the vehicle, deputies saw the front passenger hide a plastic bag and the rear passenger stash a glasses case under the seat. That alone raised red flags. A K9 unit was called in and the dog alerted for narcotics, giving deputies probable cause to search the vehicle. Inside, they found methamphetamine, fentanyl, scales, baggies, and a ledger. These are clear signs of drug distribution, not personal use. All three were arrested and taken into the Flaggler County Jail. But it didn't end there. After arriving at the jail, the female passenger named Ashlin punched a detention deputy while being escorted to her cell. She was immediately restrained and charged with an additional felony for battery on a law enforcement officer. So, what started as a traffic stop quickly turned into multiple felony drug charges.
