There'll be two people that come and then ideally we'll try and get a hold of a family member to come and get the the baby. >> I mean, has she tried to call anybody? I don't know. >> So, I don't know. And usually like in situations like this, we try not to do too much with someone else's jurisdiction. It's kind of just like you don't want to interfere with somebody else's investigation. So, like we're trying to just keep everything a pesathetic. >> Yeah. Especially cuz every time every car is honking at us, yelling at us like >> and that's why we just got here. Can you grab your phone behind you? There's a pink phone right behind you. Can you get it? Just reach back. Can you do that for me? All right, let's do it. Do you know a phone number off the top of your head? your mom's phone number, family member. Hello. >> The same thing to me. >> I'm asking you a question. Who can we call? Huh? >> Let's uh the car seat in the car seat. >> We're going to put it back in the car seat. >> Sit down. Sit down. >> Sit down in the car. Stop moving. >> Hey, hey, hey. >> Relax. Relax. I will [ __ ] I will work you. >> Sit down. >> Can you for sure >> get in the car? What's your good? >> Hi, how are you? She was the first one on scene when they said they rolled up. car was off. Uh, they took the keys. She wasn't making any sense, so they took the baby out of the car. They're the ones who called it in. Oh, where are her keys? >> What car? >> The black one. >> So, she was what? Passed out with her feet out the window. >> Yeah. >> Passed out, feet out the window, baby. The back seat was terribly because we were going that way. Like, are you okay? There's a baby. She was sleeping or like just pass she's out. >> So >> I wasn't getting much information out of her. Tried to see if we can call somebody to take the baby. She started trying to get out of the car. I was like, "Sit back down in the car." She tried getting out again. Kicked the other officer. And then I'm now I put her in handcuffs. She's in the back of my car now. >> They said the car was off. So the car was super hot. You know, >> you guys have charge, >> huh? Do you guys have charge? >> I mean, are we doing he wants to buy a Leo for taking you? But I mean, I'm going to write a report a 76 either way cuz I grabbed I pushed her back in the car. >> Okay. >> Everything is being very Wait. Yeah. So, who was the first one to be here? >> Our sergeant. >> He was? >> Yeah. >> And you saw her behind the wheel? >> We I saw her behind the wheel, too. >> Okay. Yeah. Where's the in the car? >> In the car. On her on her teeth. >> All right. Is she come at it? >> Yeah. Well, she's not very strong. Yeah. >> She's like mellow, but she's just like arguing with everybody. >> Does she smile at all? I didn't get that close to smell it. I mean, she's definitely >> She's Yeah, it's Yeah, she's either drunk or on something. >> And then she kicked her. Tried to bite her, too, as we were putting her in my car. >> One hour later. >> Hello, you Arlene. >> Yeah. Hold on. He shows you. Who are you to hurt her? >> That's her. >> Okay, I have a few questions for you, so I'm going to roll the window. You're the aunt. She's the cousin. >> Um, she's my she's my cousin, but we grew up together. So, we're like, you know, I'm like her aunt. That's >> So, she was driving with the baby parked here kind of where that fire truck is in this lane. Car. Um, feet were out the window. She passed out. Baby's in the back seat crying, screaming. Uh, random couple, older couple going to dinner. stop and see her. They're like, "Hey, like she just looks like she needs help." So, they stop, they see the her passed out, the baby's crying and everything. So, we get the call, we get here, uh take the baby out, hold it, you know, bottle feed and everything. She's severely intoxicated. Can't answer any questions like, "Hey, like, you know, where are you coming from? You know, where do you live?" and all that. Um, we had her sitting in the car cuz I don't want her running around on the road on the highway when it's intoxicated. She is. Um, she tried to get a lot of problems. She has a lot of history. >> Okay. >> She has a history. >> So, she started to try to get out of the car and I was like, "No, no, no. Like, just sit here like you're safe in the car. The road's blocked. I don't want you running around." She kicked one of our other officers. At that point, we take her out of the car, put her in handcuffs. She's still kicking. Try to bite another officer when we're putting in the back of the car. So, she's going to go to jail. We're driving under the influence. Battery on law enforcement officer, everything. Obviously, the baby is what, a week old or so. So, it's either goes with a friend or family member that she feels comfortable with it going. She said that she did feel comfortable with the baby going with you. Or it goes to the state of Florida. Emily, you're okay. It's your cousin here. >> You okay with your child going with her with your cousin? >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. Anything else? No. >> Just she's okay with her going with her? >> Yeah, she already said it. >> Okay. >> And you she had you each have each other's phone number? >> Yeah, she has my number. >> All right. Um right over here. You guys, would you mind help setting up getting the car seat in the car for them? >> They'll help you put it in and get it strapped down properly. >> Yes. Um, >> so here here's the thing. She's under arrest. All right. I'm Sergeant Korea. All right. This officer done for arresting Captain Alana. >> Alana. Okay. Um, we're here with her. Uh, so at this point, she's under arrest for DUI, battery on a law enforcement officer. Obviously, she's extremely intoxicated. >> She was passed out here drunk in a car and a good Samaritan came here. She had her feet hanging out in the window and the hazard lights on on the car on the side of the highway. So they came, they turned the key off and the baby was in the back seat screaming and crying. So luckily some good Samaritans stayed here. They fed the baby a bottle and they waited for us to get it. >> Luckily and like it could have been even worse. Like especially someone's not paying attention, ran in the back. They could have took the baby and kidnapped the baby and >> they could have kidnapped the anything. She was probably at least an hour. You guys are do you have children? >> I have two. I have a 23 year old and I have a 16-year-old. >> So, you at least know how to take care of a child for the night or something. Um, this whole thing is extremely documented. We're all in body warn camera. The biggest thing is, would you mind I'll talk to her? Just >> um the thing is we want to get the child with the next closest family member that we possibly can. Like I explained before, >> the baby's in their hands. I promise. >> But, um, child protective services is definitely going to be getting in touch with you. you know, the cell phone number you gave. >> That's make sure you answer it. Yes. Okay. They might even be calling you tonight. Okay. >> Okay. It's very possible. Um the address that you gave on your driver's license, most current address, that's where you're going tonight? >> Yes. >> Okay. You confirm that you got that? >> So, at least we just want the baby with someone safe. Um >> how is her father? >> My my uncle is is over 50. He's actually he's had like two heart surgeries already. We've been trying to get her help. She's been rehab. I mean, >> for what? Alcohol abuse or drugs or what? >> Alcohol, you name it. You've been trying and trying with her for many, many years. She has a lot of mental problems. >> And the guy, the the father, you got no idea. >> All right. So, >> you've been trying to help her and, you know, it's hard, you know. >> Yeah. >> You know, people addiction is it's like they they get >> Do you know what she's addicted to? >> Alcohol. you know, she doesn't other drugs. >> I don't know if she does any type of drugs. I know that the alcohol, she's had that issue since she was like a teenager. >> So, we've been trying to get her help. He's been trying to get her help. It's hard. It's hard to help someone with, you know, with an alcohol addiction. I was actually I'm actually I'm going through a divorce cuz my uncle my ex-husband is alcoholic. >> So, I had to remove myself from that situation. >> All right, Emily. I'm now requesting that you submit to a lawful test of your breath for the purpose of determining its alcohol content. >> No. Okay. If you refuse to take the test I have requested of you, your driving privilege will be suspended for one period of 1 year for [snorts] a first refusal for 18 months if your driving privilege has been previously suspended for refusing to submit to a lawful test of your breath, urine or alcohol or blood.
