As bystanders moved out of the way, a shot was fired at the man, bringing him down to the ground. In this incident, the officer fired one round, striking the man in the leg. After receiving medical treatment, the man was discharged from the hospital the next day and taken to the county jail. He is expected to face two felony charges, assault on a police officer and aggravated assault. He allegedly made three attempts to grab the officer's service weapon and assaulted the officer, breaking the officer's nose. The incident was described as aggravated in nature. If convicted, he could face a minimum sentence of 1 year in prison.
