Wisconsin a lieutenant overheard a male
attempting to buy several hot dogs
without enough money at Quick Trip the
lieutenant offered to buy the remaining
balance old however the man declined and
left upon leaving the lieutenant
recognized the black Chrysler 300 and
recalled the man driving it had a
warrant and was not the registered owner
the man was identified as Bernard and
had an active felony warrant out for his
arrest another deputy was informed of
this information and attempted to make a
traffic stop
as he approached the vehicle Bernard was
observed to be messing around with a
gear
shifter low the window
down your favor and shut the vehicle
off shut it

the pursuit reached speeds of 120 mph
before crashing

fell down a steep in banet approximately
20 to 30 ft both deputies sustained
injuries from the fall

way Bernard was transported for
evaluation to the hospital after being
medically clear he was transported to
the Lincoln County
Jail Bernard was charged with vehicle
operator flee elude recklessly
endangering safety resisting obstructing
an officer causing soft tissue damage to
officer in July Bernard reached a plea
agreement he pleaded no contest to a
charge of second degree recklessly
endangering safety as part of the plea
deal several other charges were
dismissed he was sentenced to six years
in the state prison system which
includes 3 years in prison and 3 years
of extended
supervision 126 108
