It scares me, though. >> I get it. >> The officer suddenly became angry, rushed over, and opened the rear door. You can see the man was sitting there with his hands cuffed behind his back, doing nothing but shouting. The officer then grabbed him, pulled him out of the car, and violently slammed him onto the ground. The man's head struck the concrete, and he immediately lost consciousness. >> You don't stop. Beat your [ __ ] the truck. >> The officer's actions were clearly an unreasonable use of force and amounted to felony assault. After regaining control of the situation, the officer called for an ambulance. >> He got dumped here. Uh lost consciousness for about 2 2 and 1/2 minutes. >> dumped here? >> Yeah. By us. Like use of force by us. Uh onto the concrete. >> The experienced paramedic on scene was also shocked. Shortly after a supervisor arrived to hear the officer who used force explain what happened. >> He starts banging his head against the windshield. I don't have bars or anything like that, so I got to open the door. That's when he kind of push kicks the door into me. Uh I grab him. He kind of jumps out, and I'm taking him out of the car, and he just hit the ground. >> The man was merely shouting in the car and had not done any of the things the officer claimed. In the subsequent report, the officer wrote exactly what he had said, claiming the man tried to rush out of the car, which supposedly led to him being slammed to the ground and knocked unconscious. Other officers on scene did not expose or report his false statements. The police department, from top to bottom, covered for him, and he was later promoted and commended for his DUI enforcement skills.
