Did I break the law? Did I break the laws of the road? How did I do that? Show me the law, please. Show me the law, please. >> Okay, just need you to step out of the car, then. >> I'm not doing this with them. They can't show me the law that I've broken. Get your supervisor here, please. >> Today's video shows a cop blatantly pulling a driver over just because of a slightly dented bumper corner. No faulty lights, no broken signals, nothing but a cosmetic scuff. The driver asks the cop to cite the law that requires a bumper to be pristine. The cop falls silent. No answer. And then, still without any legal basis stated, repeats the order to get out. The driver refuses, asks for a supervisor, and insists, "They're violating my rights. I have the right to travel. I need to take my child to the doctor." When the driver makes it clear he's ready to sue if necessary, the tension peaks. Watch till the end to see whether these cops back down or double down. >> Are you supervisor? >> Yes, sir. >> All right, so his initial stop was basically cuz I've got a piece of my bumper missing. What did I do wrong? >> He's Well, you're You're driving around with some improper equipment, it sounds like. >> I don't see how. What's the bumper got to do with my tires and my motor? >> It's got nothing to do with the tires or >> Exactly my point. So, my car is safe as it is on the road. I'm not doing this with y'all. That's unconstitutional. You're [ __ ] infringing upon my right to travel at this very moment. I have got a doctor's appointment to take my child to, and y'all are in Y'all are hindering me on doing that. With what? Did I break the law? Did I break the laws of the road? How did I do that? Show me the law, please. >> Where it's >> Show me the law, please. >> Okay, just need you to step >> No, sir. Show me the law, please. >> Okay, step out of the car, then. >> No, sir. Get your supervisor here, please. I'm not doing this with them. They can't show me the law that I've broken. Get your supervisor here, please. Cuz I know that there's somebody above you. Please don't try to break into my car because that will be damaged property. Please call your supervisor. >> Okay, sir. If you'll just If you'll just show your ID >> Not doing that. I'm not doing I have not committed a crime. I want your supervisor here, please. Thank you. I'm not saying another word until I do. No, they can take me to jail for all I care. They're not infringing upon my constitutional rights. They're not doing it. >> Sir, if you'll step out of the car, we'll >> go from there. >> Well, I'm not doing it. Get your supervisor here, please. Call 911. And have them have me a supervisor come out here that's above this sergeant. >> Grab my phone. I got my hair. >> L468 >> Thomas >> I'm not doing this. >> Did you get it? >> Give me the serial number of the vehicle 414 >> [snorts and clears throat] >> Cuz my headlights, my turn signals, and everything work. That's got nothing to do with the proper function of my car. I want to see a law. Show me the law and I will comply. >> 42 County 911, what is your emergency? >> I am over at Mountain Woods Apartments and I am being detained by an officer. I need a supervisor over here. He called one. And apparently they're both going to sit here and apparently violate my rights. I need somebody above them. >> Hey, what's going on? Are you guys on a traffic stop? >> I need a supervisor, please. >> Okay, I need to know exactly where you're at. Are you on a traffic stop? Are they >> I am. They have pulled me over for no apparent reason. I wasn't committing a crime. I wasn't breaking any of the traffic laws. I'm at Mountain Woods Apartments. I don't know the exact street address. You can ping my location. >> Hold on. Okay, I've got your location. What is your name? >> Robert Parker >> Okay, so did they tell you why they were detaining you? >> They said he his exact words was he pulled me over cuz a quarter piece of my bumper is missing. My lights work, my turn signals work, and my vehicle is functioning properly as it should upon the road. So, I do not know why he is stopping me. I know I'm shaking. I'm mad. >> Okay, are you still inside your vehicle? >> I am. And he's asking me to exit my vehicle for no absolute reason. I haven't committed a crime. I don't know what he's here for. >> Thomas. Okay. We're going to have a supervisor come out there, okay? >> Thank you so very much. >> It looks like the officer is out there. Officer Collins is actually one of our supervisors there. >> He's a sergeant. I want somebody above him before they violate my constitutional rights. I want somebody out here. >> Okay. Okay. I'll let them know. >> Thank you. >> Thank you. >> They're sending another supervisor. I'll wait till they get here. >> Nothing happened. >> I have not done anything wrong. And see, this is the tyranny that I talk about all the time in America. They think they can trample all over you, but we have the right to ignore whatever they say is law if it's unconstitutional. And I have that right. For my bumper with a corner piece missing they're [ __ ] with the wrong one. They just don't know yet. I want to I want them to do it what they're going to do because I'll sue this [ __ ] city and own them. And if there's a new law about a bumper, I would like to see that. >> All right, sir. The The code section he's looking at is 40-8-7. >> Look at it. >> that uh your car has to be in good mechanical working order. >> Which it is. >> Bumper is a part of it. You also have a cracked windshield. >> Yeah, and I know the cracked windshield, but it's not in my line of vision, so there's nothing wrong with it. >> I don't know what it is. It is. >> Actually, it's not in my line of vision. I can see everything perfectly. I've already been through this with another officer in Kahoot. I already know. Supervisor agreed with me, it's not my line of vision, and I can see it just fine. Just because your opinion varies on theirs doesn't make it right. >> I think that's it. >> So, I'm waiting on your supervisor. I'll wait till they get here. >> I didn't get the code. >> Hot. He's basically going to be BS. I don't want to hear that nonsense. I want to see the law. I don't want to see a code. Is it law? No, it is a code. Henceforth, it is not for me. I'm not driving a [ __ ] commerce. What's wrong with these boys? I'll pull off that whole damn bumper and ride with it as is. It ain't functioning with the car. It is not a functioning portion. It's to make it look pretty. >> There's your third officer. >> As long as it's a supervisor that knows what the hell he's talking about, I'm fine. >> [snorts] >> I can't keep going up the ladder of command here. So, did he explain why he pulled me over to you, sir? >> I have not talked to anybody. >> Okay, so he basically pulled me over for the corner piece of my bumper being missing and said it is a code violation, blah blah blah blah blah. I need to see the law on it. Law. He's like quoting code and statutes. That's not law. Now again, there's nothing wrong with my vehicle. My lights work, my turn signals work, my brakes work. Everything on the car is mechanically sound except for that corner piece. And he's making a fuss over that for no reason. I don't understand it, nor do I care. All I know is he's obstructing my time and hindering my traffic my travel at this present point. Four cars have already turned around and going out the other way because they can't get past these clowns because they can't park correctly. I'm trying to be but I pulled over for no [ __ ] reason. So, I'm trying to understand why they're violating my right to travel. If they want my license, I will give it to you under threat of arrest, but other than that, I'm not doing it. I've done nothing wrong. I've committed no crimes. I broke no traffic violations. I wasn't speeding. I didn't I stopped at every stop sign while he got behind me, which was way down there. I mean, I'm pretty sure he saw me stop at that style. I mean, he can't say I ran it. I've got it on dash cam. And then I made my way over here and I got pulled over right there and he says it's because the corner of my bumper is not mechanically sound. >> I didn't say you didn't say you ran the stop. >> I didn't say he did. I'm just saying everything from the school to here was in correction. Like what the hell's the point of pulling me over for a bumper? There's like 7,500 cars in the damn state alone right here and just Whitfield County that's probably got an issue with a bumper or a damn window. I mean >> And I I said last name Parker? >> Mhm. >> All right. All right. One thing like he was probably just stopping you to make you aware of it. >> I mean I know it's broke. >> But you know now >> That's like 400 [ __ ] dollars to fix. Like I asked him if you guys got 400 to give me right now I'll go get it fixed real quick. That's how much that bumper costs. >> No I I'm not arguing. >> That's a full tune-up for a car man. You know that if you know cars. I'm not even worried about it. I've got everything right here. I can relisten to it what it doesn't matter to me. But right now I am being violated upon and what are we going to do here? >> for the legal reason of the >> He didn't say nothing about my windshield till a second officer showed up and then they started fishing for other things. My bumper was the initial stop. It is not a crime. Why has he stopped me? And am I free to go? >> No you're not. >> So I'm being illegally detained. >> Do you have >> I have license, registration and insurance but under threat of arrest that's the only way you're getting it and I need that verbally sound. >> So you're going to you're going to make >> I'm going to make you threaten me under threat of arrest to get my stuff. Then can I go? >> No. >> Then I'm illegally detained. I am. What was the legal reason? What was the legal reason? What legal reason? What was legal reason? What was the legal reason? >> Oh and it's charged. >> But before we all go I'd like names and badge numbers, please. Pull up the entrance just in case cuz they're not getting in until they actually threaten me with arrest. >> They ran my tag number already though, >> care what they ran. But what he's probably going to do is he's probably going to give me a [ __ ] warning for my bumper. And this is a whole [ __ ] waste of time. I don't [ __ ] care what we have. The [ __ ] fact that y'all walk away and let them violate your constitutional rights states enough is you will comply when the government [ __ ] comes to your house to take your children. You will comply when they tell you to give up your arms and that's what the problem is. You got to stand up to this kind of tyranny. This is [ __ ] constitutional violation 101. Cops do it every god damn day. They use it as an excuse to [ __ ] pull you over. See if you have anything on you illegally. I mean for [ __ ] sakes, this is a fourth and fifth amendment violation right here. I've done nothing wrong. I've committed no [ __ ] crime. And by the way, if you ever feel like you literally are being violated and you get a ticket, sign it. UCC-1-308 UD. And if you have to and they press it, sign it. It ain't going to matter. Cuz they've done violated your rights at that point. >> Officer badge number >> No, no, no. >> Badge number is there. >> We're not throwing things in this car. >> Sergeant Sailors are out there on the backside. >> The book for the book. >> What day it is? April 2nd. April 2nd is on there to review at your leisure, sir. >> Mommy. >> Baby, no. We're not throwing things in this car. >> getting I'm getting it. >> So, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. So, this is citations for what? >> [snorts] >> The bumper. >> Okay. All right. >> Now, can we please go? >> No, you might as well reschedule that cuz I'm going straight to the police department and doing some [ __ ] complaint forms. >> And then >> So basically they gave me two citations. I didn't even sign them, so therefore it's not even valid anyway. So I'll take it to court, show them, and I'll have it tossed out.
