Wow. That freaking scared me. Was it like necessary for them to hit us? >> Yeah, it's called a PIT maneuver. She didn't pull over. I'm going to get your shoe for you in just a second. >> All right, everybody. Welcome back. We got another video for you. This one comes from Body Cam, and it is woman flees police in stolen car, ends badly. Who would have guessed? Uh, I haven't seen it. Let's go. Oh. Oh. Nice PIT. >> Officers received an alert for a stolen Nissan traveling on Interstate 85 and moved [music] in to stop it, but instead of pulling over, the driver accelerated. And after officers ended the pursuit, they discovered why this stop was far from simple. >> Ooh. Okay. So, they're trying to pull her over here. Oh, we're just jumping right to the PIT. Oh. Dang. Great PIT. Oh. Great PIT. >> See your hands. [screaming] >> She must be >> 30 board ramp. >> Where she at? >> Let me see your hands. >> South, for sure. >> DRIVER. DRIVER, OPEN THE DOOR WITH YOUR LEFT. DRIVER, GET OUT NOW. DRIVER, OUT OF THE VEHICLE NOW. >> DRIVER, OPEN THE DOOR WITH YOUR LEFT. >> OUT OF THE VEHICLE NOW. >> SO, typically what you'll do is have, I've mentioned this before, in a situation like this, you want one person giving the commands. It's easy to where we're both, you know, everybody's hyped up. Um, but you want one person giving the commands so that they're not getting confused. You don't want somebody to like, "Driver, let me see your hands." Or, "Driver, walk backwards towards me." at the same time. It gets confusing. So, um, >> Get out. ONTO THE GROUND NOW. >> I can't reach it. Take it off and go to the ground now. Go to the ground. >> Here we go. Close that window. >> Get out of the car. Go to the ground now, ma'am. Go to the ground. >> Get on the ground. >> Yes, lay there. We don't care. Lay in the grass. I got you, sweetie. We got a dude driving. Wait, no. Two ladies. Sorry. Looked like a dude. Arkansas? And you didn't stop. Yeah, you had lights and sirens on behind you. Don't play stupid now. Okay, you see the red shirt in the Cincinnati Reds hat. Um, not I don't know if this is the case, but a lot of times that, you know, that indicated they may be a blood gangster some street gang. Uh, red's their color. Cuz they're down in the south clearly wearing a Cincinnati hat. Mm. So, this got to be it's probably something they use in the gang. However, bloods typically don't wear things with C on it because that's for Crips. >> Did I miss anything? You good? >> This one's good. >> I'm good. Can you just make sure my girlfriend's okay, please? >> Yeah, we will. >> Okay. >> You want to start next list. Vehicle stolen. Well, it's showing to be stolen. She didn't stop. Place your hands behind your back. >> Oh my god. Can I please get up? I don't know what this is. >> We're going to get you up after you get you in cuffs. >> Anyone else in the car that we know >> No. Can you help me out, please? >> Yes, ma'am. As soon as I get these on you. >> I mean, seems like a nice enough lady. We've seen behave people behave much worse than this. Both of them are behaving actually fairly uh they're being fairly compliant. >> Sir, I don't have no record or anything. >> Hey, that's okay. That's okay. You smell like weed, okay? You smell like weed. >> I was sleeping. >> I got you. That's okay. >> 523 dispatch 1095 102. >> Can you get my purse? >> Got some sheriff deputies at a traffic >> Walk right up here to my car, okay? >> 1095 102. Oh my god. That freaking scared me. Was it like necessary for them to hit us? >> Yeah, it's called a pit maneuver. She didn't pull over. I'm going to get your shoe for you in just a second. She didn't pull over. I'm not going to let a chase continue going uh going down the interstate. Have a seat for me, okay? >> Uh yes, ma'am. It was necessary. She didn't pull over. I love the matter-of-factness of this guy. Yes, ma'am. It was. You smell like weed. >> Can we put these in a fire, please? >> No, ma'am. Give me just a second. >> This guy's great. >> Yeah. >> This deputy's great. >> Uh we got two detained this time. >> That's pretty good. I mean, didn't stop. >> They sped up, started speeding >> Yeah, started speeding up. I wasn't going to let it keep going. >> You guys >> Oh, you got your shower caps. >> You want me to work it or you want me to work >> Uh it's up to you. Look, gun right here. She was digging in the floorboard. Smells like weed. >> You want me to work it or you want them to work it? >> Uh you can let GS I mean, I'm good with either one. It don't matter. >> What you want to do, Pratts? >> Whatever you want. >> Uh read implied consent. >> She popped her head up and she went straight to the floorboard. >> Yeah. >> [snorts] >> See what she got. >> No seatbelt on the driver and weed in the center console. If you want to go read implied read it as close to the 1095 as you can. Okay, so weed. So he says if you want to go read her the implied consent. I don't know how they do it there, but the implied is like hey look you you can't drive under the influence of stuff. And what he said is if you want to do it as close to the 1095 time. They use different codes. I don't know what those codes are. But based on what I can understand, he says read it to her as soon as you can as close to the traffic stop time as you can. That way you don't have a gap in between. So that's what they're doing protocol trying to trying to TCB as best they can here. Hey look, I'm Sergeant Forson, okay? I'm the one that tried to stop you, okay? All right. Um Obviously you are under arrest, okay? I do have something I have to read to you, okay? What this is this is your Miranda warning. It's okay, you understand each of these rights? All right, having these rights in mind you wish to talk to me? Okay, so the vehicle is showing to be stolen, okay? Why Why did you not pull over? Okay, but I gave you the option of you were sure you were. Pull off into the ramp right there and instead of slowing down you actually sped up. Okay, any any reason why you sped up? Okay, when's the last time that you smoked marijuana? I got you. Where did you leave home at? Charlotte, okay. So look uh You've got bloodshot watery eyes, okay? And you've admitted to smoking marijuana. What this is is the I got you. Well, it smells like marijuana in the vehicle. There's also marijuana in there, okay? Um The uh this is the Georgia implied consent notice for suspects age 21 and older. Will you submit to the state administered chemical test of your blood? What What implied consent says is that um you have when you get your license you have to uh agree that if you get in a situation where there's uh potentially impaired driving that you have agreed already when you got your license that you will submit to a breath breath, blood, or alcohol excuse me, breath, blood, or um urine a test. And if you don't, then you could lose your license for a year. Mandatory. If you say no, boom, you lose it for a year. Even if they They're going to get it, by the way, eventually. They'll go get a search warrant. Or you can agree to give it, and you might lose your license for maybe 3 months, depending on what the judge decides. So, that is what an implied consent is. That's what he read to her. That part's not in the video, clearly, but that's what that is. >> test of your blood. >> Okay. Um why'd you speed up? >> I have no idea. I ain't even going to lie to you. You low-key really scared me. >> I got you. >> That's it. >> I got you. >> I have nothing to hide, sir. >> Yeah, you do. >> My homeboy rented the vehicle for me. That's why when you said stolen it that really blew my mind. >> When did you get the vehicle? >> Um I got the vehicle >> Look at her. She's definitely a Blood. True Religion. So, that's what her shirt says. She got her little red bandanna or whatever on there. She got a red hat. This is a This is red shoes. Is a little Blood gangster. >> Two days ago. >> I got you. So, why not just pull over when blue lights is on? I mean >> I'm trying to take my girl to the um aquarium. That was really it, but >> I got you. >> I you really scared the crap out of me. >> I got you. Well, that's that's the way we're trying to do we're trying to end it end it pretty quick, okay? And once you made that decision to speed up, I had to I had to stop you, okay? >> I completely understand. >> Do you have any questions for me? >> That's great in court when he says, "I you once you sped up, I had to stop you." They They are no nonsense in Georgia. You better pull over. If you get pulled over in Georgia, don't mess around, pull over. Uh don't speed up cuz this is what happens. And they were well within their rights, but what she said was very key. She says, "I understand. I understand." So, when she goes back and if she try to, you know, file a lawsuit or anything, you just play this video. It says, "You said you understood." >> Um no questions. Uh can I get my cash out my bag and my cell phone? >> Yeah, is that your black bag that's in there? >> It's a like a True Religion bag. >> Um it's it got like a little strap? Okay. Yes, yes, ma'am. >> This is where my cash and my phone is. Just to make sure my girlfriend is okay. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, she's good. I got to get her another shoe. Um uh I'm going to get her shoe. I think she left the other one in there, but I'm going to help her out with that, okay? All right. Did they already get your ID? >> They don't. My ID is actually in my bag. >> I got you. Okay. All right. Good day. >> What's your bet? Is it Is her license suspended or is it valid? I'm going to say suspended. >> Give me just a few, okay? All right. Let's go with you down to the jail, okay? I don't know if he told you or not, but if you have anything you leave alone you and it goes into our jail so it's a felony for crossing the guard lines, okay? All right. Okay. I'm just letting you know it is nothing against you. We let everybody know, okay? Okay. I was going to set this up front. >> [clears throat] >> I got your shoe right here for you, ma'am, okay? >> Wait, um can you please not >> Yeah, I I didn't put them tight, but I'll be glad to to double check them and stuff for you, okay? >> I don't even get in trouble. Can I put them in the front, sir? >> If you ain't going to give me no hard time. Look, you you still Look, you still It's okay. Look, you still smell like weed. You don't have anything hid on you, do you? >> You can search me. >> Okay. All right. Look, spin that one around for me right here and I'm going to help you out, okay? >> Jesus Christ. >> And look, obviously at this time, like I'm not saying you're under arrest right now, but obviously you're not free to go, okay? So, I do have something I have to read to you. It's your Miranda rights, okay? >> I'm innocent. I don't even know what >> I got you. Hey, no worries. No worries. Who is that to you up there? >> That's my girlfriend. >> Okay. All right. >> I go to work and go home. I don't do that. >> I got you. Well, look, no worries. All right, there was a gun found down there next to your feet, okay? >> It's in my name. >> It is in your name. Okay. >> Which by the way, I don't know what Georgia's laws are. Having a gun with you is totally legal, second amendment right. I'm 100% supporter of it. Can't have drugs and guns usually. Um that's tends to be a bad combination. But, having a gun and she's right. She's like, "Look, that's in my name." She's She knows. She's She's totally okay to have it. >> Okay. All right, good deal. >> As long as she's not a felon. >> No. >> Okay. Having these rights in mind, you wish to talk to me? >> Sure. >> Okay, so so my my first question to you is and I I've spoken to her, okay? What Why did she not just pull over whenever I cut the blue lights on? >> I don't know. I just woke up to her saying, "Babe, get up. Babe, get up." And that's when I set up. I'm like, "What the >> I got you. Okay. Well, when you come by me, you was awake cuz we looked at you, okay? >> I swear to God on my grandmother's life I was asleep. >> When you come When you >> Don't argue with them. He's telling you what he saw. Don't argue with them at this point. >> I got you. When you come by us down there, I looked at you and I looked and I looked at the driver, okay? And I verified that with the other officer that was behind me, okay? So, I I get Just hear me out a second, okay? I get behind you, okay? Um cut the blue lights on, give opportunity to pull over, okay? Instead of slowing down, pulling over, she speeds up, okay? And what >> So, >> I mean, you was awake at that point, right? She said, "Babe, wake up." Okay, so what was she saying? What Why was she Why was she not wanting to stop? >> wake up." I was like, "Babe, what the She's like, "Calm down. Calm down. I'm about to pull over." And that's when you guys hit us. >> I got you. Okay, well, she admitted that she she she hit the gas. I scared her, she hit the gas and and >> I didn't know. I didn't even know you got a hold of this person. >> And unfortunately, I'm you know, we're trying to end a pursuit before it takes out civilians, okay? All right, so that's that's why >> And they did a phenomenal job at it. >> Um, give me just a second. We're going to figure out what we're going to do with you. Like I said, the vehicle's stolen. Um, in the state of Georgia, being in a vehicle that's stolen, you can also be charged. So, I'm going to uh I'm going to talk to the other officer and we're going to go I got you. >> I love the company you keep, girl. The company you keep, babe. >> Unfortunately, things could have been a lot worse, okay? When did she pick you up in the vehicle? >> We live together. Okay, so she had the car for probably like 4 days. She said she paid for it, though. >> Okay, who did she get the vehicle from? >> The dude I mean, her cousin she works with. >> Okay. >> Her co-worker. >> Okay. >> So, I don't know the dude. >> Her Her cousin she works with, her co-worker's brothers, sisters, dog has an owner who had a car. Come on. >> I just know he got a girlfriend. I don't even know his name, LIKE >> YOU. YEAH. DID YOU have your seatbelt on? >> Yes, I did. >> Okay. Yeah, she had her seatbelt on. All right. Give me just a second, okay? >> So, she was wearing a seatbelt. She wasn't How much did she pay for the rental? >> So, that brush guard they have there is perfect for pitting because it doesn't jack up your car. And you do that pit maneuver like that guy did, money. It was great pit. >> She She got it from a guy and she she said that she got it from a guy, too. So, what it is is she she's got the vehicle. She got it from a third party, from some dude, and then it's just not been turned in. She said she's had it for 4 days. So. Um >> Hey, does that mean your your alarm is going off? >> Sorry. Here, you want to take a picture of it? >> [ __ ] you carry it in your pocket? >> Yeah, oh yeah. Yeah, she She admitted to smoking marijuana, bloodshot, watery eyes, and uh she refused to provide a blood sample. What are you Are you charging anything? Okay. >> I'm just for the wreck for under the influence. >> Okay. >> Hey, she said the marijuana was >> Yeah, oh yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's stout. You still You still familiar with your Miranda rights, correct? Okay, then I've just explained to you, okay? Let me ask you this. >> These guys are doing a phenomenal job. This is real professional police work right here. No nonsense, took care of business, explained to the people why, very forth- very just direct and to the point, not messing around, and immediately handling business, applied consent, Mirandas, reaffirming Miranda again right now, cuz you want to ask more questions. It's good work. >> So, who Who does the marijuana belong to in the vehicle? Huh? It's yours? >> Yeah, but that's not all I'm charged with. >> Do you have knowledge that this vehicle stolen? >> No. >> Okay, no knowledge that it's stolen, okay. Who does the firearm belong to in the vehicle? >> My gun. >> Yeah. Okay. All right. All right. What Who weed and stuff? What did she say? She said the weed She said the weed was hers, and that nobody knows anything about the vehicle. She didn't know that there was a firearm in there. >> Yeah, okay. I agree with the firearm part. The firearm is definitely mine. It's in my name. It's not stolen. And I have >> you can't have a You can't have a firearm in the state of Georgia while you're in possession of a stolen vehicle. >> See, there you go. So, while it is legal to have a firearm, you cannot have a firearm in the vehicle that is stolen. So, she doesn't know. Maybe when she goes to court, maybe the prosecutor drops this charge, but that's the way the law reads. >> Yeah, but I had no idea about this vehicle, sir. I swear to God, I go to work and come home. I take care of my 95-year-old grandma. I just got a job with the bank. I drove this freaking car to work. She told me it was never stolen. Like, what the hell? >> Uh >> So, she did ask if it was >> What does that mean? Like, even I don't even >> Just you're you're in a vehicle that's stolen. >> The So, it's theft property and what else? That's >> And she's going to lose her job at the bank. Damn. >> Is it? >> Uh then the possession of marijuana less than an ounce and possession of firearm there during the commission of a >> Why am I getting charged if she said the weed was hers? >> It's in the passenger floor, like >> That's cuz y'all hit the car. >> I got you. She did say the weed was hers, so I probably won't charge you with that, okay? That that does make sense. It could've got over there, so that makes sense. >> That's cool. >> Police ended the pursuit with a PIT maneuver, sending the stolen Nissan into the grass. The driver later laughed. >> Nissan? What? >> Aften told the officer she sped up because he had scared her, while claiming a friend had rented the car for her and she had no idea it was stolen. A search uncovered a loaded Glock handgun, two packages of suspected marijuana, and a marijuana cigarette. The driver admitted the marijuana belonged to her and said she had smoked before driving. Police also learned her license was withdrawn and that she had a prior >> License withdrawn, boom. I'm I I'm sure you probably all thought the same thing when I asked you, did she have her suspended license or whatever they call it here, that her license was was withdrawn. And she has a private private prior felony conviction. >> felony conviction. She was taken to the county detention center and face charges including fleeing police, receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm during a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, marijuana possession, and driving under the influence of drugs. Her passenger was also arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. >> Two felonies. Um She's not going to be able She's not going to be able to work at the bank any longer. So, that job's probably going bye-bye. I don't think that they will I'd be shocked if she does prison time for this. The other girl, she going to prison. And she might have to find a new girlfriend in prison. Probably won't be hard, but uh she's going to have to find a new girlfriend in prison. Here's the thing funny thing about gangs, at least in Arizona. So, she's a a Blood. Um in Arizona, you could be a Blood or a street or a a [ __ ] or something else. If and then if you go to jail, it's based on who what your skin color is. I mean, whether you're Hispanic, black, white, native. Um they tend to click up that way by race and then the jail the the street politics of gangs goes out the window and then you're really just there for your race. As soon as you get out of jail or prison, you go right back to your street gang hating the same people that you were actually eating at tables with in in jail. So, it's a little funny how the politics of that works sometimes. I don't know if I can find the outcome cuz I don't even have the name of those two. We know what they got charged for. I wish I could tell you whether she got prison time or not, but she's going to jail. And this other girl is probably going to get dumped for a new a jailhouse girlfriend. And uh maybe even prison. So, let me know what you think. Comment, like, subscribe. How did they do? This was some of the better police work. We've seen some good police work. This was really good. Georgia, don't mess around with the troopers. Clearly don't mess around with the the uh the deputies as well cuz this was grade A uh textbook uh pit and then the way he answers questions and how well he knows his job, fantastic. So, let me know what you think. Comment, like, subscribe. We'll catch you on the next video.
