I'd really like to know what this is because No, I No. My mom No, my mom worked for OPD for 27 years. I'd really like to know what this is, please. >> It's a traffic stop now. >> Okay, but what are we doing right now? My partner is concerned about your ability to operate the vehicle. >> Great. And I said that I would leave this car >> and walk home. >> Okay. >> So, what are we doing right now? >> We're continuing our investigation. >> Okay. But if I say I'm abandoning my car, >> no, it doesn't work like that. Great. Can I contact my mother right now? >> Not at the moment. No. >> No. I I need to contact my mother. >> Yeah, but you're not going to right now. That's >> Yeah. No, I need to. She was a No, >> we're not doing this. Are we serious right now? >> Serious about what? >> All I want to do is go home. I >> see. So, our concern is that you might have had too much to drink today. >> Great. That's fine. And all I want to do is walk home. >> Okay. Well, that's not an option. >> Okay. >> Okay. Well, so I just would like to contact my mother. >> Okay. Gotcha. who worked for OPD for 27 years. >> That's fine. Unfortunately, that's not an option either. Okay. So, we're not going to let you call anybody. We're on a traffic stop conducting an investigation. Um I guess you were stopping. >> So, can I just leave the vehicle and walk home? >> No. I just told you that 10 seconds ago. >> Why? >> Well, one, it's illegally parked. Two, we're conducting an investigation. So these officers as well as myself just talking to you for 2 minutes believe that you have too much to drink tonight. >> Yes, I understand that and that's why I'm saying can I please just and I'm not trying to be an [ __ ] I just I just want to go home. >> Okay. On a scale of 1 to 10, we're kind of falling over drunk. One's not at all. Where do you think you are? >> I am a five. Okay. What were you drinking? >> Where? >> No, no, no. What were you drinking? >> Oh, what? Uh, just beer. >> Okay. How many beers did you have? >> Like four. >> So, you feel like you're safe to drive? >> I I would not say I'm safe to drive obviously cuz you guys do not think that. I obviously just want to go home. >> I got you. You okay? >> And Yeah. No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I just want to go home. Honestly, I just want to go home and I want to [ __ ] be like at home right now. >> Okay. Oh, I want to be at home, too, unfortunately. >> Yeah, I'm not. >> And I I'm not saying that I'm okay to drive home. That's not what I'm saying. Is I'm saying I just want to walk home. >> Okay. And if I have to surrender my car, >> that's fine. >> Surrender it. >> Whatever you have to do to it. >> Gotcha. Okay. >> Fine. >> Hang out with these officers. >> When she could no longer argue her way out, the woman began crying. >> Come on. >> No. I hate this country >> because this is [ __ ] I just >> that you're operating a vehicle without the lights. you rights to my vehicle and I am so we don't want the rights to your vehicle and you guys are still giving me [ __ ] >> Why? >> No one's giving you >> why why are you still giving me [ __ ] about my life? >> So that being said, ma'am ma'am ma'am ma'am I'm I'm getting a cat. Well I don't need you to get a cat. Don't need you to get a cat. >> So, I'm an [ __ ] for getting a cat. >> Get a cat. That's not your cat. >> Okay. >> She even refused to take a sobriety test. >> Summer observations. I'd like to request you do field sobriety exercises to determine if you're safe to operate a motor vehicle. >> I just told you I'm not. >> Okay. Again, >> I'm trying to >> I'm affording you the opportunity to complete some field sobar exercises to dispel my fear. You are driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs while operating a vehicle in the state of Florida while on a roadway. >> Would you like to do those exercises? >> No. >> No. You understand that refusing to do those exercises can be used against you in court? Do you understand? >> Do you understand? No, you don't. >> No. >> Okay. So, if you refuse to complete the field sobriety exercises, which I'm requesting that you do, which is based on our observations. No, >> you cannot. >> I'm giving you my car. >> No, that's not how this is working. I'm asking you. >> Why are you being so >> I'm trying to be direct. I'm trying to be direct because you don't understand. So, I'm trying to be direct and repeat myself as many times as necessary so you understand the severity of the circumstances you're in. I understand like I understand that you are >> [ __ ] 20 something years old and >> I'm not but thank you. I don't believe that you understand at all. >> Yeah. And the more belligerent you act towards us, the less it's uh actually helping uh your case right now. >> That's great. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, >> I'm an [ __ ] for trying to talk to a cat. >> No, you've uh bered my partner by calling him 20 years old and you've undermined uh my partner and I's discretion and stop. But you guys just >> we did our job by pulling this vehicle over >> because I tried to talk to a cat. >> So I'm going to ask you again. Would you be willing to do the field soiety exercises that I've requested of you? >> No. >> No. >> Do you understand that your refusal can be used against you in a court of law? >> Do you understand? >> Yes or no? Okay, time is 23:23. The defendant is not answering any questions. >> At which point the officers decided to place her under arrest. >> Stand up. Hand behind your back. >> Step forward. >> Yes, I understand. Yeah, I understand. Yes, I >> don't resist. >> Don't resist. That's going to end poorly for you. >> Understand? Yes, I understand. >> No, I understand. Oh, no. >> I I just said I understand. >> That's fine. I believe you. >> Can you please let me? >> No. >> Are you serious? >> Yes. Very >> I just said I understand. >> Okay. >> I understand. >> You understood once the handcuffs went on you. Walk this way to my patrol car. >> No, I understand. >> You're under arrest. No, I understand. Please. >> Back to my patrol car. >> Please. Please. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Please. >> Never mind. The seat belt's party. Go ahead. Have a seat. >> Please. >> I'm sorry. Please >> have a seat or you're going to catch another shark. >> Can I please >> put your foot in? You understand you said that? >> No, I really do understand. Please. >> Go ahead. Put your foot Can you please >> I'm asking you nicely. Please put your foot in the car. Ma'am, >> I'm I'm trying. >> Thank you. >> This Karen was accused of driving under the influence, a grave infraction that exposed her carelessness, endangered other drivers, and carried major legal repercussions. Everyone has their opinion, and the viewers who commented below this video are no exception. Sober drivers just want to go home, too. It needs to be said again and again. A $40, $50 Uber is way cheaper than the cost of a DUI. Better yet, wait and drink at home. Can you imagine being 55 years old and wanting to call your mother? The lesson from this situation is that driving while impaired is dangerous not only to oneself, but also to others. Subscribe to Lawframe for more articles if you like this. He got me. >> On October 22nd, 2024, authorities in Crystal Lake, Illinois, observed a vehicle with two flat tires swerving across lanes. While driving, a woman who was later identified as a nanny had become quite inebriated from babysitting children. >> Hey, can I talk to you real quick? Come here. What's up with your rims? Time for now. Are you okay? >> Are you all right, Mr. Sushi? What's going on? >> I'm not driving. >> You're not driving? What happened to your car? >> You got your car keys on you? What are you looking for? >> My car keys? Can you just leave me alone? >> No. You got two flat tires. >> My husband is going to come fix them >> here. Where's Can you mind if I see your car key real quick? >> My car key? >> Yeah. I just don't want you to drive off. >> Please don't write me a citation, please. >> Why would I write you a citation? I don't know. >> Do you have like your driver's license on you? >> Is this your car? >> Yes. >> How did you get the flat tires? >> I I don't know. >> Were you with anyone else? >> No. >> Just by yourself? >> My manager. Oh, hell no. Yo, is this guy recall? >> Do you have your license on you? >> Yo, can you take me home? I have around the corner. >> Here, can I see your license real quick? >> She get home first. >> No, you're not going to go home right now. You're not going to go home. We got to figure out what happened to your car. >> Jail? >> No one said you're going to jail. >> The woman resisted staying still and protested many times when requested to get out of the automobile. >> Do you mind just stepping out of the car? >> Holy [ __ ] Three cars. >> Yeah. Yeah. Are you talking to the caller? Can >> you please take me home? Please, >> let's just figure out how you damage your tires. >> I don't know. >> She's left. >> Do you mind just stepping out of the car? That way we can just talk to you. It' be easier. >> No, I don't. I have nothing to say. I >> get out of the vehicle. >> Get out of the vehicle. I'm going to take you out of the vehicle. >> There we go. Let's go up in front of the vehicle right here. >> We'll take that. >> Go in front. Actually, if you want to pick it up, you can. I'm sorry. You can pick it up if you can pick it on. Pick it up, ma'am. You can pick it up. I'm just staying back from you cuz you wanted to pick it up. >> All right. Go up there to the front. What are you doing? Are you just not smart? Get out of the car. >> Get out of the car. Go up here in front of the vehicle. You got her ID? >> Yeah. >> I got her. >> Where's that plate come back out of? >> I'm not sure. What are you doing? Just stay here. >> Where are you going? >> To hide. >> Why? Why? Keep going. >> Okay. Well, ma'am >> because we're Because relax. >> Take a deep breath. >> Ma'am, just relax. Okay, >> man. >> You need to relax. >> Have you ever heard the meme? You're extremely intoxicated and you're operating a motor vehicle on a state highway of the state and you have two flat tires. You could have killed yourself or somebody else. >> Well, why do you think I pulled over >> after you hit a curb? >> After you struck a curb and you can't drive anymore because your car is throwing sparks out the side of it. >> Call my husband. >> Okay, we will. >> Let's just figure this out. >> Ma'am, let's go over here by the front of my car. Over here, >> ma'am. >> Ma'am, >> over here. >> Ma'am. Ma'am, come over here. I'm not letting go of your jacket cuz you keep trying to run off and I'm not going to play that game. >> You just did like twice try to do it over here by the front. >> When she lost control, police intervene to take her into custody. >> Yeah. >> Don't you do that again and wear your arm back at me like you're going to hit me? We're going to have a real problem. Do you understand me? Do you understand? I'm not the one who operated a Cadillac SUV on a state highway in this state and then hit a curb and could have killed yourself or somebody else because you're intoxicated. Not my problem. Do you understand me? If you pull your arm back like that on me again, I will charge you. Do you understand? >> Let's go over here by the front of my car. >> No, never. Put your hands on your back. Put her in handcuffs. Oh, I got it. All right, just get a handcuff on her. Beas, hold her arms, get a handcuff. >> Oh god. >> Get one on her. Get on her. We got her. Just safety for us. We got her. >> Oh, you're under. All right. >> Your body. >> Please just take me home to my kids. >> No. We're going to go to a police department now. No, >> hold on a second. >> Those are those [ __ ] >> Yo, you're an angry man. I don't know what the happened to you as a child. >> You're the one who causes >> You're the one who just tried to run and hold your arm back like you were to hit me. >> Why are there four cop cars here? Am I that intimidating? >> This side. >> Who the are you? >> Come on, let's go. Is that how you see? >> Hey. Hey. >> Lillian, stop. Lillian, stop. You're making it worse. >> Um, yeah. >> Get off me. >> Stop. >> Get off me. Get off me. Get off me. >> She strongly resisted while she was being led to the police car, though, and cops had to carry her to the ground. >> Take her to the ground. I got her. >> Oh, yeah. You got me. You got me. You got some anchor. >> Bring the wrap. >> Bring your wife every day. >> You need to relax. >> Yes. Relax. Bring me the face. Pound it in. Pound it in. Officer in. >> Get the off me. Get the off me. >> Ma'am, you just kicked me twice. in the groin and in my leg. And then you're shoved back against our partner. >> Hey, I need to know exactly what they saw on body camera. >> All right. Yeah. After this. Yeah. >> What do you want me to do, baby? What's >> that? Or you can go out right there. >> Let me go. >> Let me go. >> I hate you. >> I know. >> Let me go, >> ma'am. The reason why Ma'am, the reason why you're not being let go is because you've already assaulted both of us. >> Shut up. You're a human. Get the off me. Get off me. You're hurting me. >> Okay, look. We're not hurting you. Would you like to >> stupid? You knew that's your wife. >> What' you say? >> Get off me. >> Stop them. >> Get off me. >> She's going to stop. >> Take me home. Take me home. Take me home. Get me in the car. At least >> I don't want you. >> Look, I don't want your knee anywhere near up here. I just want you to sit down like that. I want you have her arm >> and I just want you to hold her arm and keep her body down and go hole because she's going to kick Soie or she's going to spit on you. So, keep her head that way. I'm going to go get leg iron. [Applause] Stop moving. >> You're pushing my head to the ground. >> Ma'am, look. You're all on body camera. That head, your head's nowhere near the ground. You're lifting it on your own. >> Yeah, cuz even >> Ma'am, we told you you would need to stop resisting. >> You kicked us. You spit on us. >> Oh, I'm so horrible. >> Well, if you would just cooperate and get in the back of the car, we wouldn't even be on the ground. >> Home. >> You're not going. We're beyond that point. We got a we got a thing coming called the wrap and we're going to put you in that wrap to where you're immobilized and you cannot move. >> Ellie threw me in the car. Put me in the car. >> We tried to, ma'am. And you kicked all of us. >> We tried to. >> But you obviously are under arrest. So, I hope you know that part, right? >> Put me in the car. Let's see if you can do the alone. Come on. Come on. >> Oh, I will. Trust me. >> Oh, let's do it. >> Ma'am, I'm not going to put myself in that situation cuz she's already assaulted all three of us. You kicked my partner. >> Grabbing my hand. >> You've kicked me. You spit on me. You kicked my partner. >> Clap resistance. >> There we go. >> There we go. >> Well, there's a felony. Look, if we get you up on your feet, will you get in the back of the squad car? >> I'll do anything to save. Please. >> Let's try and get her. >> She thrashed and damaged the automobile after being strapped inside. >> I'll pay you five grand each. I swear to God. >> I don't want your money. >> Yeah, you do. >> All right. Yeah, you do. I live on 30 acres. >> I'm pleased to talk with my husband. >> Double double. Yeah, double. >> Where are you taking? Double cop >> property. Not kicking the window. >> Hey, let me out. Oh my. Oh my husband. You abuser. He abused me. He raped me. He took my He tattoo man. This Karen was arrested on more than 15 charges, including DUI, aggravated assault against police and medical personnel, reckless driving, driving on flat tires, unlawful lane use, evading a crash scene, and failing to report an accident. With such a crazy situation, the comments that followed after the video was released are also noteworthy. Hope she lost her job as a nanny and any job dealing with kids. This woman is insufferable. She needs significant jail time. Disgraceful. Drunks are so disgustingly pathetic. The takeaway from this circumstance is to never drive under the influence, especially when you are responsible for supervising youngsters. What a stubborn Karen. Right. Tonight >> on October 31st, 2024, a domestic quarrel was reported to the police. >> What What led to everything happened? >> I knocked on the door and asked her to turn the the water off from the toilet cuz it keeps running. >> Uhhuh. >> And she just got hostile. >> What was everything that she did? >> Um she just the my kids are my little kids are now. They're four years old. So she just kind of pushed me. She grabbed my phone and threw it. just kind of bear hugged me so I couldn't She's pretty strong. Okay. >> So that I couldn't move. >> All right. And where is she at now? Has she >> upstairs? Has she calmed down or >> No, she's up there just talking to somebody. >> After speaking with the mother, officers approached the woman to question her. >> Janiah. >> Hey, how are you? >> Hello. >> You can come in if you need to to see things around. Okay. So, basically, >> okay, hold on. We can you can stay in your room. You can just talk. >> So, she um called my name while I was getting my clothes out my um out the dryer, right? >> Okay. >> So, I haven't really been talking to anybody because she has been talking junk about me. So, I'm not really speaking to her, right? But still being respectful. I kind of just like hm to see what she wanted. She's telling me that she need me to turn off the um toilet because um something about the water problem. I kind of already know about that, but my toilet doesn't do it. So, I'm looking like, okay. So, you know, I go in there, try turn to she talk about some Oh, well, I already did now, so there's no use do it. Had got a whole attitude. So, I'm looking like, you know what? I've been quiet for years. She has been calling like places on me. They come and get me, sticking me with needles and all this type of stuff. Don't they don't ask no questions. They just come and get me and try to take me. And so, um, for a while now, she's been documenting stuff on her own terms. It was a whole paper with my name on it saying that this and the third. I didn't even know what they was talking about. And so, as you can see, I've been in here writing and studying. Haven't been doing nothing to nobody. She keeps coming to my doors. I called the police maybe two or three nights ago because she keeps coming to my door insisting that there's something wrong with me. Talk about some But I I got a video actually I can show. >> Okay, hold on. Let's We're just talking about tonight. >> What happened tonight? >> Okay, so this this is basically what's summed up for tonight though. That's why I wanted to show you. But so basically that night she come my room talking to me like I'm some random on the street. So I don't know what may be going on with her but so then um when she came right here right she was going to call somebody. So I'm like okay who was she f to call? She she um I reached for her phone and she had truly she put the scissors in my face and then when she put the scissors in my face that's when I got close on her some like who you going to stab what you f to do cuz at this point you're provoking me to something do something else to you and so then that's when she had tries to like put her hands on me when I'm reaching for her phone and she like put she like punch me like trying to fight me. She end up hitting my little brother talking about oh I'm so sorry. Then she come back at me on some trying to fight me. She hasn't been doing nothing lately because I have talked to Brady about everything. So, they kind of aware of that situation. And so, I I just called y'all because, you know, ain't no telling what else she may do at this point. She does have a weapon in here. I don't know what she on. She has been taking. She has been drinking. I don't know what's wrong with her, but I'm really sick of her. >> Okay. So, hold on. Let's Let's go back a second. Okay. >> Cuz you said at what point you said you tried to grab her phone. What What led >> when she was trying to call the people on me to come get me? So I tried to reach for the phone and that's when she had um reach that's when she pulled her arm up trying to hit at me trying to fight me. >> Okay. So what do you mean by trying to fight you? What was she doing? >> Like I don't want to attack you but like say this is me right. She was just like give my phone back like talking like like basically punching at me, grabbing on me, gripping on me. >> Okay. So did you actually grab her phone or >> No. No. I reached for the phone and that's when um she um tried to grab at me and tried to grab on hold to me. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, what happens after all of this? >> Um I had came back in my room trying to finish folding out my clothes. I just took out the dryer. >> Okay. >> Listen, I understand you and your mom have some some issues. I'm not That's >> I don't even have an issue. She just keeps >> Well, you have issues with your mom and that's what I'm talking about. Putting the events together, it became clear that she was the one at fault. >> That's not my prerogative for why I'm here because I'm here about what happened tonight. Okay. >> So, hearing from both sides, it sounded like she took out her phone and for some reason you decided to try and take her phone from her even though it's her phone and there's no reason for you to try and take her phone. >> Correct. >> Trying to see who she going to call because who >> but it's her phone. >> Okay. >> She can call whoever she wants to, right? That's just like you can call whoever you want. >> Okay. So, if she if she tries to talk to me and I say, "Oh, I'm just not in the mood to talk right now." Isn't that my prerogative as well to say, "I just don't want to talk right now." So, how does that mean I have a problem? >> But listen, but that means you have a you have a room, you have a door. I'm sure there's a lock. So, like I said, I've heard what you said. I've heard what your mom said. Y'all have given basically two completely different stories about what happened tonight. The only thing that I said that's congruent is that there was some kind of altercation regarding your mom's phone. Your mom is saying that you grabbed her phone. You're saying you didn't grab her phone, but you are saying that you did attempt to grab her phone, and that's what led to her putting her hands on you to stop you from grabbing her phone. >> At that point, the police decided to place her under arrest, but she kept shouting insults. >> Based off from what I'm hearing as far as what's happening tonight, you're going to go to jail. Okay. >> Why am I going to jail? >> A simple assault. I told you that's a >> Hold on. Wait. No. No. No. No. No. Yes. Yes. >> Okay. Hold on. In the name of Jesus. Wait. No. Stop. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Bro, >> put your hands behind your back. >> No. Like, you really need to tell the truth before I really psych out. Nobody has to go through this. You are such a liar. That's why nobody likes you. No. Nobody fool with you. I was in here minding my own business. You keep messing with me. You are so annoying. Now somebody got to go to jail. Ain't got no bond. Nobody want to go to jail. This is annoying. And I really hope everybody weep with they soul. You got to stop moving your hands. This is stupid. You got to stop moving your hands. You got to stop moving your hands. Stupid. Janiah, you got to stop moving. I hope you reap what you sow. I really hope in the name of Jesus, in the name of God, I really wish you weep this. >> Janiah, you got to stop. >> I don't fool with her. She is lying. How somebody wrong, but yet you trying to talk to them. Tell the truth. >> You just tell him lie talking about somebody smoke weed. I don't even smoke weed. What are you even talking about? >> Stop moving your >> This is injustice and I'm going to sue. I'm going to sue this whole county. I'm going to sue. >> I am suing and I'm going to sue you for all this paperwork and whatever they talking about. >> You got some shoes. >> Put your shoes on. >> No, I'm not. I'm not I'm I'm going to get heated. Why are you How is the >> I've already told you somebody who's already told you why. So, do you have some shoes? >> But she had scissors. Well, she uh got done walking her dog and I saw that she the dog should and he she picked it up and came walking over to me sturdy as you will and saying something. I said, "Wait, wait. Is that an altercation? We yelled at each other a few times. >> Okay. What's going on between you and him? Um, honestly, all it is is, you know, I'm a woman yelling by myself out here. He has yelled, he has yelled at me before several times. 7 in the morning just yelling hello. And I told him, I said, "Hey." I said, "I don't know you. You don't know me." I said, "Don't yell at me." He keeps doing it. I said I was like, "Hey." I said, "Stop." I was like, "This is last time." I said, "Stop." I was like, "I really don't know you. You don't know me. I'm a young woman by myself." I was like, "Fuck off." And then today, I yelled a little more. I didn't call him a [ __ ] [ __ ] I do feel bad for that. It matches the feces that's on his forehead. Unless you would like to amend your statement to me. >> Would you like me to show you the bag that's still sitting on the ground over there? >> Because it's going to match that one specifically, right? And there's a reason you started pulling that one out and shoved it back in your pack and then pulled out the dark black one, which is what you showed me over here. >> Am I about to be arrested just so I can give them to somebody or I'm looking to try to not to do that, but you haven't been honest with me up until this point because when people are dishonest, that shows a a decision to do criminal activity and not take ownership of it. And that's the start of all of it. >> Okay. >> And then ever since then, he yells morning at me and I tell him to [ __ ] off not to yell morning at me. >> So, as far as what happened today, did it happen the way you said or did it happen the way he said?
