This is a mental health problem. The dress, that's one thing. The immediate behavior, the screaming, um, clearly there's a mental health problem here. In this society, we've normalized mental health and it's and it's rearing its ugly head in our and and more than we would like to see it. So, I'm curious to see how they deal with this kid this guy. >> You lower your voice. >> [ __ ] try it. >> Oh. >> Are you threatening me? >> You're threatening me. >> Are you threatening me? >> I'm not just >> Cuz I cuz cuz I cuz I'm here right now to deal with a stolen vehicle. I've got I have to film this. >> Calm down. No, no, no. Are you going to calm down? >> I WILL >> TARGET HIM. >> CALM DOWN. I WILL CALM DOWN. >> WHAT THIS IS? >> I WILL CALM DOWN WHEN YOU GET THE PEPPER SPRAY OUT OF MY FACE. >> Officer safety. >> Leave me alone. >> I I I have uh >> I I This almost seems like a skit. This This feels like a skit almost, but I know it's not. That's how crazy it is, but it feels LIKE A SKIT. >> PEPPER [screaming] SPRAY AND IT'S IN HIS FACE RIGHT NOW. >> PUTTING THE PEPPER SPRAY ON ME. I WILL CALM DOWN IF YOU DO THAT. >> NO, NO. >> STOP. SPRAY. >> [screaming] >> SPRAY. >> YEAH, LOWER YOUR VOICE. >> SPRAY. LEAVE ME ALONE. >> [screaming] >> LEAVE ME LEAVE ME ALONE. >> DO YOU WANT TO GET TASED? >> I WANT YOU TO LEAVE ME [screaming] ALONE. YOU HAVE BEEN PARTICULARLY ABUSING ME. >> IF YOU COME >> YOU'RE DEAD. >> IF YOU COME TOWARDS ME ONE MORE TIME >> YOU FOLLOW ME. >> YOU ARE GOING TO >> I SENT THE BUILDING ADMINISTRATOR. >> I GOT TO GO. >> DUDE, step back. >> DON'T YOU EVER >> JAY LEE, JAY LEE, DON'T YOU WANT TO GO TO THE BACK OF THE ZOMBIE? >> I think he's going to nice up. >> What are we doing here? >> He's going to CALM DOWN. >> OKAY. >> GET [screaming] AWAY. >> YOU DON'T TELL ME WHERE TO GO. >> LET ME STOP. >> [ __ ] YOU. >> SO, here's the thing though, if he if you keep saying that you don't tell me and I'm not trying to I don't want to critique, but if you don't do anything about it, this behavior just gets worse. So, right now, boom, you just grab him by the wrist and push him up against the corner of that wall, tell that other guy to get out of the way, and put the handcuffs on him. >> [ __ ] you, cop. >> That's it. Thank you. Here you go. >> No, no, no, >> [laughter] >> no, it's too late now. It's too late now. He's He's going to BE TAKEN AWAY. >> DON'T LET HIM GO. >> LET'S TAKE HIM. >> PLEASE GRAB HIM. >> Get away from him. >> I understand He HE NEEDS TO >> [screaming] >> WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE? >> ALPHA 73. >> JOSH, CAN YOU please just tell them to use the right pronouns? Please. Put your stuff down, turn around, put your hands behind your back. >> 4780 Roger. >> over there? >> I'm not going to be arrested. >> Put your stuff down. >> Over here. >> No. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> No. >> Okay, so I'm going to ask you one more time. >> You've already asked him too many times. You've asked him too many times. >> You can You can record all you want, but it's already beyond that point. >> I >> We we we we were trying to >> Look at him change his tone now that he knows he's recording. He wants to play a different game, as if he wasn't just screaming and yelling like a lunatic just a few minutes ago. >> It doesn't matter. Grab him. >> We we we were we were trying to help you, so so Yes. >> You came in with hostile intent. >> Put your hand out. >> Guys, guys, what are we doing here? >> Get on the ground right now. >> Don't >> Get on the ground. Get on the ground RIGHT NOW. >> DON'T >> HEY. GET DOWN ON THE GROUND RIGHT NOW. >> HEY. HEY. >> LEGS STRAIGHT. >> I GOT MY OTHER LEG STRAIGHT. >> HELP. >> I GOT IT. COME ON. THIS WAY. >> REMEMBER, FOLKS, CONTRARY to the pink shoes and the the knee-high socks and the crazy hair, it's a man. And I'm sure he can put up a fight. >> What [snorts] is going >> Get down. >> Stop resisting. >> Stop. >> Get down. >> Get down on the ground. >> GET DOWN. GET DOWN. LET ME UP. >> GET DOWN. COME ON. >> HELP. HELP ME. >> GET DOWN. >> I HURT. >> GET DOWN. >> THIS IS WHERE I HIGHLY recommend officers learn judo, um striking, um all sorts of ju- uh jujitsu certainly, probably the most valuable, uh to get these guys down to the ground really easy. >> Get him down. I got him. Put your hands behind your back. >> No. >> Put your hands behind your back, please. >> I can't. I can't. >> No. >> I hurt. I just WANTED YOU TO >> COME ON. STOP. >> JOSH, PLEASE. >> All right. >> Josh. Josh. Please. Help me be understanding. >> He's known like He's a decent size boy and he's putting up a fight and you got to go hard hands. Like just you've got to gain compliance here. >> I'mma spray him. >> No, please don't spray. Don't say him. Her. >> Okay, her. I'mma spray her. >> He's still. >> Thank you. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> No. >> Yes. I don't want to spray you. Give me your hand. No, give me your hand. >> This is tough for me to watch. >> See what's going to happen. Do it. Put your hand behind your back. Put your hand behind your back. >> Just do it. Please, just put the tape I don't even know if I can make it all the way through this video, guys. >> Put your hand Give me your hand. Okay, I'm going to taze I'm going to taze you if you don't cooperate. >> You can't threaten Please do it. >> There you go. Jaylin, it's going to hurt, man. Just give me your hand. >> Do it. >> He's not going to taze you if you give me your hand. No, give me your hand. >> Yes, you you are ABSOLUTELY GETTING ARRESTED. >> LET'S GO. >> YOU HAVE GOT to go. You have got to go to another level of force here. You need to deliver some strikes, some common peroneal strikes. That's a knee to the outside of the leg. It's something that's taught. Um you can do some some pressure points up in the neck. There are different things you can do. But what I would do is deliver a series of strikes with my knee to the common peroneal on the outside of his leg uh to gain compliance. And there I mean there's so many different things you can do. Now, it's a leg sweep's tough because he's holding on to that other thing. Uh but the taser obviously didn't really do much. >> Going to get it again this time. Give me your hand. Give me your hand. >> Okay, so sorry to keep stopping it. Part the reason that the taser didn't work as well as when you do a drive stun, it's really only contained in this small area. When you shoot a taser, the farther apart that the the prongs hit, the greater the the pain and the impact. So, that's why when you see people running, they get hit in the back and the spread is, you know, you know, 3 ft, 2 ft, it it it drops them. This is very contained, so it's very it's it's a pain right in one area, but it doesn't doesn't cause the whole body to seize up. >> Give me your hands. Give me your hands. >> There you go. Got him on the ground. >> Give me your hands. Give me your hands. Relax him, okay? Here you go. >> Jeez. We got him. >> And we got charges. >> All right. >> for battery >> battery >> They were attacking me. What else was I supposed to do? >> Okay. >> Comply. You're now under arrest for battery on a Leo. >> Watch your head. Roll over. >> Now get up. >> Josh, please. >> On your knee. >> TRY IT. >> Now stand up. >> I can't stand up. Ow, I can't get up. >> You said you did tase him, right? >> Yes. >> All right. All right, I'm going to call the boss. >> Hold on. >> YEAH. >> HOLD ON. >> STOP. >> WE WE CAN'T CONTINUE TO feed the mental health problem in this country. We can't. Um these are the the byproduct of it when you do it. You can't do it. This is a There's a mental health issue here that needs to be dealt with at a core level. It does. And we can't keep playing a game. Sit down. We're going to have the fire department take a look at you. Yeah, no doubt. Take him to the car. We'll get your belongings, all right? He had I thought they could have They could have probably should have, you know, they're trying to be as as tolerant as possible, which I don't like the word tolerance. I think that tolerance when when bad behavior is present is not good. I think you can still love somebody and and hold them accountable. Um that's how you raise children. You don't tolerate bad behavior. You don't tolerate screaming and carrying on and cursing at people and lunging at people. You don't tolerate it. Um you correct it. And this need There was some correction that needed to happen here with this man for his behavior. >> and you're going to have to be you're going to have to be accepting of the fact that people are just not going to buy into it. Um the the average normal right-thinking person is just not going to play the game. And so, you're going to get mis- you're going to have you're going to be misgendered um and that's just part of this gig and you can't be freaking out just because of that. We live in a society here, folks. We all have to live together. Well, I'm guessing that wasn't on their bingo card for the day. >> I mean I came in I thought someone was fighting. Cuz he was going off on security. I told him to calm down. I told him that he's about to get with that pepper spray. He's about to get sprayed. >> Uh that's when I got involved. I got a cuff on him. And when we got him I got the other >> Well, you were the one you had the spray out or you you know you said you >> I did not spray him. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So, when he he came he when I was trying to get him calm down that's when he freaking damn motioned towards me and I said I'm going to spray you. >> Okay. >> Then I pulled out the spray. >> Okay. >> Um everybody else started clearing. I tried to calm him down. I even had Josh try to talk to him. >> Uh-huh. >> He wouldn't calm down. I told him that he today he was going to go if he doesn't freaking damn cooperate. Finally at one point I said, "Hey, it's way too late for everything. Turn around. Put your hands behind your back." Trying to do this as peacefully as possible. >> Yeah. >> Kept on resisting. Kept on resisting. Grabbed him and it was on. >> Yeah. Okay. >> So, he go and I grabbed uh Riley secured one hand and then I was able to cuff it but as we were trying to secure it to his back he got his second hand around. He rotated around and threw a closed fist at me. >> Okay. >> Did he hit you? If he did I didn't feel it. >> Yeah. Yeah, he didn't I mean he tried but he but I >> Yeah, but I was able I think I I cuz I don't remember him actually but >> What saved was me grabbing his legs. >> Yeah. >> Cuz if I didn't get his legs >> but then he grabbed my mic. You see it's all stretched out. He grabbed my mic trying to rip it off. And uh like I said he kept and then uh when we got him against second elevator he threw a kick. That one hit me. >> Okay. >> The sergeant's carrying two four mags, four pistol mags, and two rifle mags. The sergeant is an operator. The sergeant is a guy who is ready for some stuff. He's ready for some crap to go off. And he doesn't want to come deal with some silly little call like this. Uh this guy if I would have guessed is probably a SWAT operator uh or was. >> Uh he threw a kick on me. And then we tried to get him and like I said we just kept bouncing back and forth with him until we finally got him on the >> Here's the here's the thing though to think about. Should he be Baker Acted or should he be taken to jail? >> Um I mean they can do that at the jail. >> Okay. >> Cuz I mean he's going to need some care. >> Yeah. >> Let them Baker Act him at jail. Take him to jail. If the jail needs to do a mental health assessment on it they'll do it there. >> Yeah, there's something wrong. >> Yeah. >> And he definitely can't be with gen pop. They will destroy him. >> No, they're going to put him in I don't know. In that in in this case with this particular individual they're probably going to put him in the chest cuffs as he seems to get there. >> As soon as he gets out of off the processing >> I appreciate you coming. Um but yeah. >> Well, there you go. I don't know when this happened but uh yeah. How would you deal with this situation? Uh this is tough. I'm a I'm a the longer you let things go. You guys know this. I'm I'm big on put them in cuffs, get the situation under control, don't let it escalate. Um it's easy to say when I'm not there but I've been in these situations many many many many times. And so I'm a believer that quicker that you can do it, hard hands, get them in cuffs, take advantage of opportunities when you see their weight shift, they move forward, you have your opportunities to grab a hold of them, minimize damage, keep them away from being able to strike you. Those are all things that um I think uh you got to be ready to take advantage of it. So, I've always been a hands-on guy. No pepper spray, never use pepper spray, hate it. Didn't want anybody I ever worked with to use pepper spray. Hated it. Um never used my Taser uh in in the whole career. Why? Because I think that going hands-on is the quickest, most efficient, and safest way to keep people from getting hurt. So, um let me know what you think. Comment, like, subscribe. How would you have dealt with this situation? And uh how do you think they did? And uh what do you think the punishment should be for this? I'd be curious about that, too. All right, folks. Uh this was a tough one for me, but I made it through. I hope you made it through, too. All right, I'll catch you on the next video.
