Given that, it is possibly a stolen vehicle. >> Yeah, I know. >> We're going to read Miranda. >> You're going to what? >> I'm going to read you your Miranda rights. >> Oh my god. >> Okay. >> All right, everybody. Welcome back. We've got another video for you. This one comes from Police Release, and it is 19-year-old steals vehicle from Airbnb after everyone leaves. This is why we can't have nice stuff. I haven't seen it. Let's go. [clears throat] >> On July 20th, 2026 >> Ooh, this is bad. >> Recently >> a possibly stolen vehicle found with a blown-out tire and damage. >> So, it's my friend of a friend. That's I know. It looks really bad. It's my friend of a friend, and I drove it home, and I was trying to drive it back and I and >> Sounds like lies already. A friend of a friend of a friend of a friend. >> Uh I don't know. That's the problem. Yeah. >> So, friend of a friend. Where's the friend? >> I I honestly I don't have my phone. I don't have anything on me. I would tell you. >> Who? What's the name of the owner? >> Candy. >> Candy is the name of >> Candy Hops. >> Who's the friend? >> Yeah. >> Did Candy tell you you could drive it? >> Not really. No. Not that Not as far as I know. >> Who told you you could drive it? >> Not as far as she knows. So, did Candy say you could drive it? Not really. Well, not as far as I know. Well, you would be the one that would know. And Candy, if that's even a real person. >> What? >> Who told you you could drive it? >> No, but I swear it's from >> Who did you get it from? >> From their house. I was at their house, okay? And I was driving I drove it home. >> Where did you push off? >> North Park that. So, I drove it home, and I was trying to drive it back and the tire went flat. >> Who showed up? >> And he just called >> Here's the deal. She just pulled over cuz she had a flat. >> Where are you on North Park? >> On Fishburn. >> You got pulled over on Fishburn? >> You bet your bottom line. >> Okay. >> so no. Why is he getting mad at me? >> Um, I don't know. I thought it was I don't know. I thought Bon Fister was the scrambler. I I don't have any match ready because >> Where's your phone? >> I'm having a tough time hearing what she's saying. Sorry. >> It's at the house. >> Oh. What about your house? >> At Bon Fister where I left it. >> Yeah. So you got yourself some Bon Fister. >> Yeah. >> And he said is that is that the cabbie's house? >> As far as I know, yeah. This is a friend of a friend. I'm sorry. This looks really >> So you >> Yes, it does look really bad because you don't know what the heck you're talking about. And you're mumbling and I don't know what the heck's going on here. >> Your friend though that knows this person, where is that where are they? I'm sorry. Where are they the friend that >> Where are they? They already flew back home to like say key. His name's Andre. >> Supposedly the vehicle belongs to a friend of a friend. She got the vehicle from an advert of Bon Fister. >> No permission to drive it at all. >> So in a situation like this, it's tough because we've had like even break-ins at houses where somebody will steal something. You got to get a hold of the owner to get them to be the victim of it. So even though she took the vehicle with no permission, we got to now get a hold of the owner and say did you give this person permission because they jacked your car up. They drove it, took it. And then we can charge them with theft of of motor vehicle or That's that's going to help be how you're going to usually do this in type of investigation. So they're they're all talking it through like what do we do in this situation? They know, but they got to figure it out. >> Were you able to cancel it? I canceled it. You want to cancel triple A? The sergeant wanted you to cancel it, yeah. >> Yeah, I sent cancel to the number said to to. Um it says thank you Zachary I'm checking on this for you. I think I can just call them and tell them to cancel. >> Who called this in? What was the RP's name? >> Some guy who was staying at a Airbnb who knows the owner. It's a cluster. It's an absolute cluster. >> That tire is gnarly. >> Yeah, how do you do that? Like like driving on the sidewalk. And the RO hasn't even called. It's like a friend of the RO called and said it was stolen from this Airbnb. So I'm here. >> This is >> So the friend of the RO calling, RO is the reporting or is the uh registered owner. So your RP, reporting party, your RO, your registered owner. So this guy calls, he's a friend of the owner and says, "Hey, they don't have permission to have this vehicle." You still need the owner to be the victim. >> This is a stolen This is a stolen vehicle. >> That's what they're putting it out as. So basically the person that was staying at This is how the call came out. Person staying at Bon Hester said that they found out from Instagram or something that somebody took >> Yeah. When I got here, she's outside with this boy who's not involved, who's riding his bike by, and saw her with a flat tire, so he stopped and was like, "I can get you AAA cuz they couldn't change the tire." So I asked her, "Whose Whose truck is this?" "Oh, it's a friend of a friend." I'm like, "Where did you You know, like What do you mean? Where were you Why were you driving around?" She said she went home to Northside Drive and then was coming back to this house on Bon Hester. >> Yeah, I know that's why >> What? >> We [ __ ] Miranda'd her. Has anyone Miranda'd her? >> No, cuz she doesn't really know like what's going on. >> Yeah, I wasn't driving I'll talk to >> What? >> I'm going to talk to the sergeant because >> The thing is >> She has everything we have. She should know what she is not free to leave. >> Yeah, well she >> suspect in a signal 10. >> She also um >> So he's saying she's not free to leave. She's a suspect in a signal 10, which I'm guessing is stolen vehicle or theft of goods or whatever they're going to I whatever the charge is. Um so yeah, she's not free to leave. So you should Mirandize her is what basically he's saying. >> And whoever's truck it is, whoever's truck it is didn't give her authority to drive it. >> Okay. >> Okay, so All right, so um She didn't Mirandize her. All right, so you're saying that >> Uh I'm not sure. We were just trying to see what she ever said so she said whatever but >> I would Mirandize her at this point because they're right. She is she is a suspect in this and so she's not free to go. >> Whose car is truck is she said I should just matter. >> Yeah, it's a friend of a friend. >> So does she have like permission to take it? >> No. But she's not telling me like the friend like whose this friend is. >> What's her name? >> Uh Thank you so much. >> I don't know. I'd let that other guy leave yet either. >> Sophia. >> Okay, that's fine. Um so all right. >> Hold on. >> We're going to listen to Corporal here. >> Yeah. So it's based on everything I understand so far >> Mhm. >> Um you're not entirely sure whose vehicle this is or you are not sure if you had authorization to take it to where you did. >> Yes. >> Okay. So given that it is possibly a stolen vehicle >> Yeah, I know. >> we're going to read Miranda. >> You're going to what? >> I'm going to read you your Miranda rights. >> Oh my god. >> Okay. We're just talking about this. >> Am I like detained? Am I under arrest? >> You're not free to leave. So yes. >> Okay, I understand. Okay. >> Technically you're detained. So you have the right to remain silent cuz I'm going to ask you some more questions. Having these rights in mind, do you want to talk to me now? >> I don't know. >> Okay. >> I guess. >> So, at what time did you take this? >> At what time did I take it? >> Yeah. >> Uh See, I don't like I don't have my phone or anything. Is the phone here? It's at this house. >> On Bonfister? >> On Bonfister. Like >> Is that where you took the car from? >> Yes, it is. On Bonfister. It's like 16 20, I think is the house number. >> Okay. >> Is she impaired, too? I mean, clearly she jacked that truck's tire on the whatever she destroyed that front tire. >> 1620, possibly. >> Staying there with Are you staying there >> No, I'm not. I'm not. But, the people that I was with, they were staying there. >> Okay. >> you with? >> His name is Andre, but he They They flew out. They left already. Yeah. >> Who else is staying there besides Andre? How many people approximately? >> Probably like maybe at least three. At least three. I'm not >> And yes, I would assume Andre, the people who flew out, are the fourth party. They saw that the car was gone and >> I Yeah, I spoke to him on the phone actually. Yeah, but how did you get How did you have his number to call him on that phone? Where did you get the number from? Is it in your iPad? I don't have it. It was like 72 >> That's a big old iPad. It's like a laptop. >> 7 um I I don't remember. >> What is this? This is >> This is Yeah, this is Instagram cuz I don't >> So, you called him on Instagram? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Um can you do that again? Well, you don't have to >> have Wi-Fi. I could try. Okay, so we probably have the phone number from the 911 call that came >> [laughter] >> The cop's face says it all. Key West His face is like >> I didn't call him or I mean unless he did. >> You know what I mean? So, the phone number should be enough. >> Okay. We'll start with that. >> Yeah, it's like loading. This is Andre. I'm on my iPad. He said get it back to the house. Okay, right now. What the [ __ ] am I doing right now? He said keys in the house. How do we get in? Which I don't I think Should I call him right now? Or >> Yes. That's what they asked you to do. Call him. >> What's up? Is there Wi-Fi? >> Let me see. He's texting me. >> No, well, from 41 minutes ago, all the messages. >> Oh, can I call my mom off of one of you guys' phones possibly? >> Yeah, just use mine. >> I'm sorry. It's just I'll just call his friend maybe. I never talked to him on the phone, but I've like never done that possibly. >> Okay, you said you were outside of the Airbnb with the lost apartment. Hey, so um my primary goal right now is to find out who is the registered owner of this vehicle. >> Can I send you a better number to reach him at? >> Yeah, can you give me that phone number, please? >> Officers got in contact with several individuals who were at the Airbnb and found that their accounts contradicted her version of events. >> But uh oh, uh-oh, you're in trouble. >> They saw you outside of the Airbnb and at the Airbnb with the lock box. >> I mean, I woke up there inside. So, maybe I was locked in, but no, I I was in there as far as I know. >> Okay, I was it was the guy. >> Is it just me or is that shirt bothering you guys? It's I mean, why even wear the shirt? I get it, you're trying to be stylish or whatever, but it's doing nothing right now. >> I talked to him said that he left and everyone left for the airport at 9:36 in checking the Uber time stamp and that at the time that he left the for his Uber that you were outside of the house on the phone with someone to get a a ride. >> Honestly, I couldn't tell you. >> Uh why couldn't you tell me? >> I I just don't remember any of that. I don't remember even Ubering to the place at all. So >> So, should you be driving? >> What I'm sorry I'm wondering is like did they >> Why don't you remember? >> That's what I'm saying is like did they do something to me? Like I don't know. I don't remember what happened after. I remember being at Bali Bar. >> But then you remember waking up in the Airbnb and nobody was home. >> Yes. >> Okay. And then what did you do? >> I woke up in the Airbnb and I was there for maybe 15 minutes. Don't hold me on that. I don't know for sure. >> Okay. No, no worries. >> Maybe like 15 to 20 looking for anything that I could I couldn't find my phone. I couldn't find my wallet. I couldn't find anything. I don't have anything on me at all. And looking for some kind of way to contact somebody in general. >> Was there a a clock around? I assume at least in the kitchen. Did you see what time it was? Like normally when I wake up even after a nap I go find it. >> No, I There was I didn't look for the time, honestly. I mean I I even like >> These other two guys in the background are so disinterested in this. This guy, the actual uh officer is annoyed uh with this case, too. >> No, not at all. It was It was dark. It was dark. I turned on the TV. I was looking for any kind of way to figure out what happened. You know what I mean? So, I just I saw a truck outside and I was like just go home. >> Okay. Is it possible that after the guys left for the airport that you went back inside to >> I mean, possibly. >> Where did you find the keys to the truck? Yeah, you said for 15-20 minutes you looked to find anybody in the house, any other phone, anything. We couldn't find a phone. We couldn't find anybody there. >> The keys? I think it was in it, honestly. I don't >> [sighs] >> Let's just cuff her and charge her for stealing the truck. I mean, but you still you like I said, you got to have the dagum owner. Find that owner to so that you can We've had people in in the past that it's not the best example, that dump trash on a property. We need the owner to get a hold of the owner, but sometimes these vacant properties really tough to track down owners to be able to charge them. So, sometimes we can charge them with littering. But, a lot of times you got to have the homeowner or the property owner or the owner of the vehicle that says, "Yeah, I want to aid in prosecution." >> I think the keys were in the in the truck. So, you went outside of the house and then opened the >> I did. Yeah, I did go outside. I I walked actually I walked the whole backyard, everything looking for something. There was absolutely no sign of anybody. But, I know I didn't have the unlock the car. >> You got to make different life change choices, girl. This is one of those times where you you reflect on your life's choices and you say, "I got to do better." She should be doing that right now. >> I went home. I got my iPad. That was the only way that I was able to contact him through Instagram. And I spoke to them and they said, "Get the truck back immediately." So, I drove I tried driving from North Side to Keith to Bonfire, actually. And the entire way back >> What what did it look like? >> Like in front of uh Bonfire? So, I was drove I drove it for a second and then I was like, "Uh this is not a fun car." And I tried driving on it, but it's very bad. >> And you said you didn't drive at all the way back? >> No, I did not. >> After further investigation, it was determined that she had reentered the Airbnb through a side gate after everyone had left, retrieved the truck keys from inside the residence, and drove the vehicle to her home without the owner's knowledge or permission. Based on these findings, she was placed under arrest. >> So, the owner of the truck >> Mhm. Yeah. >> And you didn't know. >> I don't, yeah. >> And you didn't have permission. >> Yeah. >> And he wants to press charges. >> Well, is it just cuz he thinks I stole his money? >> No. >> It's because you stole his truck and then you jacked the tire up and flattened that and then drove on it further thinking you could drive on it. That's why. And it's 3:52 in the deadgum morning. >> Okay. >> So, that is your problem. >> That's Wait, is that a felony? >> Yes, it is, girl. It's a felony. >> That is. >> It is? Are you serious? Oh my god. >> The woman was charged with burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, grand theft, and grand theft of an automobile, all felonies. The case is still pending. >> Those are serious charges. Uh I'd like to say definitively or confidently that the prosecutors are going to file on this and the courts are going to hold her accountable, but I got to be honest with you, I don't have a lot of high hopes. And the case is still pending because it just happened at the end of July. This case will be like this for a couple years probably. I don't imagine that the judge held her. She's probably released on a bond. But yeah, it's three pretty serious felonies cuz she did burglary of a of an unoccupied dwelling. She got uh grand theft. And what was the third one? Grand theft of an automobile. So, grand theft and grand theft theft of an automobile. Um Yeah. Well, I this should probably carry a couple years in prison for this. That's what uh I I the max time is probably between I would say probably two and 10 years. I don't know. It'd be interesting to I'd be interested to see what Florida's minimum versus maximum is if they actually follow through on it. Let me know what you think. Does she deserve to go to jail for a few years for this? Or is this dumb just a dumb girl who found herself in a place where she shouldn't have been and then decided to take the truck home. Dumb instead of actually figuring out something else or walking somewhere to find a phone. She takes the truck and uh drives home and then they say, "Hey, get that truck back to the house." But she pops the tire before that. She destroys the front tire. Hopefully didn't destroy the truck either. Uh she deserves some punishment. I don't know if she deserves years in prison, but she deserves some serious punishment to teach her a lesson. Let me know what you think. This is probably more stupidity than it is criminal uh intentionality. The the state of mind in this was probably not intentionally. It was probably uh ignorantly or stupidly or idiotically, something along that lines. But I don't think those are proper technical terms in the law should be. Let me know what you think. Comment, like, subscribe. And uh we'll catch you on the next video.
