All right, everybody welcome back. I got a video just from a couple days ago from Volusia County, Florida Sheriff Chip Wood, great Sheriff. This is a pretty intense video. I'm going to warn you it's intense, but let me give you the background to it. On Sunday afternoon deputies responded to a home on Fowler Drive in Deltona where it was reported a young man armed with a large hunting knife had already injured one person and was threatening to kill four children who were in the house. The first responding deputy was met by the suspect's father who placed himself in between his son and the deputy to prevent a potential shooting. The suspect, 22-year-old Trevor Nieves Gonzalez Well, I don't want to tell you what happens. We're going to watch it. You ready? Let's get on to it. You need to drop the knife. Sir, you need to move out of the [ __ ] way, please. I'm not going to shoot him if he drops the knife. Drop the knife. There he goes, he drops the knife. Get on the [ __ ] ground. Get on the ground. >> Sorry for the language, but it's what it is. Get on the [ __ ] ground. Get on the [ __ ] ground. Boom, got him. Poof. Well, that taser works good. I'll hold him, you got him. [ __ ] hands, Jeremy. Right hand out, do it now. Put it behind your back. Left hand, do it now. >> Taser deployed, we're securing one. Look, a lot of people don't like the language, you know, but in these situations sometimes that's all these folks understand. Clearly he was he had escalated it to this point. The deputies are coming in and meeting that escalation with this point and sometimes that's the only language they understand. So, whether people like to hear the deputies they're they're giving commands and they're showing authority. And yeah. Man, it could have ended a lot worse. Scene secure. FD can come in, we've got one secured. FD is the fire department. Tell them the fire can come in and Check for injuries on them. Yeah. Let me see your head, sir. What happened? He hit you with anything? All right. That's big old knife. So, let let me let me just explain something to you, okay? He's a good boy. I understand that. However, if somebody has a lethal weapon Go ahead. If somebody has a lethal weapon, that's deadly force. I cannot change I cannot go to my taser. All right, but once he dropped the knife, that's when we de-escalated it, okay? But do me a favor, have a seat, okay? It's great job by the deputy explaining that to the dad. I put it on the front seat of my car. Secure. The dad was in the death zone, the danger zone. The deputy was right at the edge of it as well. He was refusing to drop it. Dad would not get out of the way. I had him at gunpoint. Okay. And then he eventually dropped the knife and once he did that, he spit it for us, so I tased Okay. If you need to start collecting 14 on everybody, that'd be a huge help. I'm guessing the 14 is information just getting it up from all the people at the house. All right, great job by these deputies. Sheriff, he runs a good crew. The dad was treated for injuries sustained from the knife being he he got hit with in the head with the knife. And then Trevor Nieves Gonzalez was charged with aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault, four counts of child abuse, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence. Sounds like Trevor got what he deserved and just remember everybody is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, but yeah, that's what this guy got charged with.
