Stay back. Stay back. >> You okay? >> No, I just killed somebody, dude. >> Relax. >> All right, everybody. We got another video for you. This one's from Midwest Safety, and this one is tragedy strikes after teen carjacking pursuit. On March 17th, 2024, officers from Uklid PD, a suburb just outside Cleveland, Ohio, were alerted to a carjacked white Jeep Compass that had been taken at gunpoint 2 days earlier in Cleveland. After tracking its movement through automated license plate readers, a patrol officer closed in as the suspect vehicle turned onto a residential street. The marked unit activated its lights and attempted a traffic stop on the stolen Jeep. What they didn't know is that the following events would end in tragedy. Definitely don't like pursuits in neighborhoods like this. I mean, you got to do it. Obviously, this is a severe This is a serious case where they carjacked somebody at gunpoint. So, you can't just let these guys run off. They're clearly a danger to other people. The disadvantage we have is these folks don't care one bit about other people or any traffic laws or anything. We have to still be cognizant of traffic, who's coming. We don't want to cause an accident. So, we're we're playing with a different set of rules than these guys are doing a good job keeping them in distance. You're getting off 166 getting after it. Oh 156 156 on fires. the greenhouse. I don't know the address. >> Copy 156 behind the greenhouse. >> Got one vehicle that flipped. I don't know the >> Oh, this is so frustrating when people are in your way. [music] >> Stay back. Stay back. WILCOX, WHERE YOU AT? >> MA'AM, get back. >> No, >> I came to you. I got you. I got you. >> She's like, "Can you get that gun out of my face?" No. KEEP YOUR HANDS UP ON MY LADY. >> SOMEBODY CALL AN EVIDENCE. >> LADY, get >> Hey, ma'am. Wake up. >> I don't know. They ran that way. She's dead. >> Damn. Is she a man? >> NO. STAY BACK. >> I'm holding the car. Sit down. >> I don't know. >> Sit down now. Sit down now. >> Come on. Now, >> keep going. >> You got your hands up, man. Don't reach for anything. Go down on the ground. >> Can you give me your 20 exactly 156? >> Well, I got to go under. All right, we got 25 radio two in custo. Is there a gun back here anywhere? Someone's going to find >> I don't know. >> Tell me now. I want a kid to find it. There's a gun on me. Go. She's She's gone. Ma'am, >> she's gone. >> I'm telling you. Yeah. Let me >> Ma'am, please walk away. Please. Just walk. Ma'am, I GOT TO >> MA'AM. MA'AM, LISTEN TO ME. Just walk away. I'm telling you. Okay. >> She's gone. Go. Can go sit. Come on. >> I know she wants to help, but >> ma'am, I know you want. >> This is a crime scene. >> Hey, listen to me. >> And that's my niece right there. >> Okay. Ma'am. Ma'am, I'll explain everything. Can you sit down? Hey, sit down for me. Okay. Sit down for me. >> My auntie. That's my mom about to get out. corner right after you get out. Congratulations. >> What is going on? That's not >> I'll tell you in a second. They were in a stolen car that was taken at gunpoint. Okay. Can you please sit down for me? Just sit down. >> Flipper. Don't move her at all. Her face is like, >> "Hey, Will Cox, was this clear?" >> Yes, it's clear. >> Ma'am, please go. talking about. >> God damn it. [music] >> Is he turning off his siren? >> So, our vehicles had these sirens. So, once you put it in park, the siren would go off, which was kind of nice. So, when you were on a scene like this, you didn't have these sirens blaring in your ears on top of That's why these guys, everybody's high energy right now. And you know, you heard them kind of snap back at one of the other officers. It's just normal. It's, you know, we got people that were running after. We got other people showing up on scene. We've got obviously somebody that looks like they've lost their life there. You've got a victim vehicle here that's been just totally demolished. And you got the suspect vehicle. So, there's a lot going on. Sirens blaring in the background only adds to the uh the the level of of intensity of the case. >> You're good. Come here, >> Ben. >> Ben, what? >> Leave me alone. >> Here goes. You know, I don't think people realize how much this weighs on us. You know, when we're trying to do our job, somebody losing their life, that weighs on us. And this cop obviously, he's feeling it. He was pursuing the vehicle. And the vehicle now looks like it's probably hit and killed somebody else. And uh you feel it. >> Another Kia, >> come here. killed somebody. >> No, you're done. Hang on a minute. That's your car. >> Now, he didn't kill anybody. The two kids in the car, the people in the white car that in the stolen car killed somebody. Um, this is not on the police officer. >> Okay, >> I got to move the cars real quick. Just hang out right here. All right, I'll be right back with you. >> Hey, get away from that car. I don't care. Get away from the car. You see what's going on? Get away from the car. >> This is not away from the car. Go. >> Oh my gosh. >> I'm going. >> Ma'am, I'm going to put you in cuffs in the back of that car, too, if you don't listen to him. >> I'M GOING TO GO >> You know, people don't like the harsh language sometimes, but that's all sometimes that's the only language people understand. You know, that's how they were talked to as kids. And then sometimes you got to talk to them that way before you actually get through their head. This is a serious situation. >> You got any weapons on you? >> Speak up. >> No, I 17. Looks like he was the driver. I'm going to move these cars. >> THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING THOUGH. YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO BLAME us when they just kidnapped. >> Go. >> Where's the >> go? >> So what happens when your car gets robbed? >> Huh? >> Some kids out here. >> Okay, then go. >> Is she dead? I don't I I want to say yes, but >> Gabby said she has >> you. Okay. >> No, I just killed somebody, dude. >> No, you did. >> Relax. >> I would like to get you probably back to the station. Okay. All right. You're I'm You're okay. You're okay. Just stop. Let me >> And look what he's worried about is, you know, this is our livelihood. Now he's immediately while doing his job because did poor decisions somebody else made criminals and running from the cops. They killed somebody or hurt somebody. I don't know if they're going to die yet. I haven't seen the end of this. But he's concerned now he's going to lose his job. They're going to sue him. This is this is the what we the pressure we live under when we make these life or death decisions every day doing this job. >> Take mine. >> Yeah. >> I don't want you driving this. >> Huh? >> I don't want you driving this. You hit that car so hard. >> What do you mean? >> Hey. >> Yeah. >> I want to get him back to the station. >> Will Cox. >> Hey, you are >> Yeah. Well, he's upset obviously. So, I just want to get back to the station off the scene just because I don't want people keeping on coming up and just messing with him or doing anything. >> Take a [ __ ] I'll give him a ride back. >> All right. >> Hey guys, I don't know who's in that car 16 or 18 that's on the offramp, but it's probably going to need to be moved cuz fire's coming very shortly now if they get around. >> Somebody's car is in the way, so they got to pull it. Oh my gosh, this girl kicking the door. >> This one, please. Can I talk to my >> I don't know. >> I didn't know this way so I can do it. >> Can you get my purse and my phone, please? >> Can y'all do me a favor? >> Just out of respect of >> whomever might be, >> would you mind going in the house or do you live over here? >> Did you observe anything like the accident happened? The car just flew past in front of me. I had to hurry up and hurry up and stop. But when I see the car fly past, it just must have smack cuz you see everything just all this get to flying everywhere. I live on this street right here. Just left out the house. >> Okay. >> Then I go over there and check the lady cuz I'm a whole ass RN. They talking about she gone. No, she not. SHE HAD A WHOLE ASS PUSS. >> OKAY. Out of respect for her. >> I respect what you said, but y'all other officer ought to lie. There's one. >> Now, the other officer wasn't out of line. We can't have you coming over moving people. We can't move people. I move If the officer moves that person and and they end up that causes a a broken neck because you moved them. Um then what then that's on us. So, look, we're in a we're in a very tough situation when we're trying to provide first aid to people and we can't have other folks show up and and hurting somebody be because they said they're in a nurse. We don't know if this lady's a nurse. >> She got ejected. And this happened 10 minutes ago. 15 minutes ago you to sit cuz it's not it's not normal to see what you saw. Okay. >> It is I'm a registered nurse. I see people coming in at the ER every day. >> Not everybody's like that. You saw the whole thing. >> I didn't see the whole thing. I was outside >> about to go and then that car just came fast and fast, booming fast. So I had to hurry up and stop cuz it was actually my time to go. struck that vehicle. >> It struck this vehicle to come out that vehicle. >> She blew all the vehicle. >> I I don't know. We're thinking so. >> So, did this roll or? >> No, it just spent like it spent and all that went everywhere like all up in the air. >> But that that that young lady in the back of that car, that's not that's my daughter-in-law. >> She she was in the stolen vehicle that hit this lady. >> But how but how she know it was >> I don't know any of that. And I'm just letting you know that the vehicle was stolen as a nerd. >> And what a to add another dynamic to it. The lady who witnesses it who was in a car in the area happens to know have the girl in the back is her daughter-in-law. I mean, what are the chances of that? I mean, unless they all live in this neighborhood. >> Okay. And as a first responder, I know you want to do whatever you can to help somebody, but I promise you, unfortunately, there was nothing you could do at that point. and tell them don't chase them if they felt sorry. >> I I'm not trying to argue with her and I don't I don't want you arguing with the officers or anything. We're just trying to >> I live here though. I can't get in my driveway. She's talking about some my phone. I can do whatever I want to do. This is where I live at. I can't even pull my car in the driveway. >> I understand. Respect the person. That's all I do. I'm so That's just >> Is she going to the hospital? >> Yeah, she is. >> You know? >> Yes. >> The girl? >> Yes. Oh, >> that's my MY MY MY SON GIRLFRIEND. >> The girl got a good relationship. She was in that car, right? >> She probably ain't know if it was stolen. >> It wasn't no normal vehicle. It wasn't like for no petty crime. Okay. It was a serious crime that that vehicle was taken. >> No, it was it was just No, it was a serious crime. We don't chase for like petty stuff. You just got to understand that you got my officers that are involved in the chase that are hyped up. I don't know if somebody's saying something disrespectful to you, but you got to understand they're not Nobody's trying to be disrespectful to you. >> You got to call it something. >> You do. Absolutely. >> Probably a million people asked you guys already, but did you guys see anything or >> I I was in the living room watching TV. I heard something. What I thought I first heard a boom. I thought it was a uh something probably made the >> Yeah. They probably did not boom. Then I said, "Oh, somebody going to get told." But I didn't imagine when I open the door to see this. >> Yeah. >> I seen the police running on the side of that white house with their guns. Like, did they test the guy? >> Yeah, we got two people that were back there. >> Good, man. I'm so sick of this. Was that lady walking or was she thrown from a car? >> Um, from what I understand, she was thrown from that car. >> Yeah. The suspect driving the stolen Jeep, Tyrone Griffin, who was 17 years old at the time of the crash, pleaded guilty in connection with the Uklit [music] police pursuit that resulted in the death of 44year-old Michelle Wall. Wall was on her way to church when the stolen Jeep driven by Tyrone Griffin struck her vehicle at a high rate of speed, ejecting her from the car. Medics later pronounced her dead at the scene. Griffin entered guilty p to one count of attempted murder and one count of failure to comply with the order or signal of [music] a police officer. He was sentenced to 14 years in prison. A firearm was recovered from [music] the stolen jeep which had been taken during a carjacking involving two women in Cleveland on March 15th. >> Man, you know I didn't, you know, somebody lost their life here because this person didn't think the laws applied to him. steals. I don't know if he stole the Jeep, but the Jeep was stolen from two women in Cleveland on March 15th. They used a firearm to carjack it. They recovered the firearm from the stolen Jeep. Um 14 years in prison, probably not enough. You know, you can't bring back the family of this lady who lost her life who was just going trying to go to church, but because these two people, the law the law didn't apply to them. And then you got these other people over there saying, "Well, you should have let them go." That's why crime goes on because you folks think we should just let everybody go. If it's not a serious crime, we shouldn't do anything about it. Or even if it is, if you run from us, you we should let you go. This is why crime is out of control in so many cities because you folks uh don't want to accept accountability. We've got to accept accountability. That's what it takes. We can't be we can't be justifying people's bad behavior or illegal behavior and this is what happens. You know, somebody loses their life and then the other kid goes to jail for four prison for 14 years and they're lucky they didn't get hurt worse than they did. So, uh let me know what you think. I know this was a serious one. um comment, like, subscribe, and uh we're going to be posting a lot more videos on our membership part, maybe shorter, some longer um that are a little bit more like this, a little bit more intense.
