All right. >> All right, everybody. Welcome back. We got another body cam video. This one comes from Midwest Safety. If you're not following them, go subscribe. They've got some great body cam videos. Um, but we're going to break this one down. It's a routine house search takes a dangerous turn. >> Officers from the Molen Police Department in Illinois received reports of a suspect pointing a firearm at someone from their vehicle. An officer spots a car parked at a residence matching the description of the one from the incident and begins his investigation into the people who live there. >> I might have the vehicle from the 1032. Can I get a unit to the front of the residence? They're looking out this back window. They know I'm here. Just keep an eye on it. Make sure no one leaves. >> Where you got eyes on the dog? >> Negative. That's I'm walking around to the front. The dog's on a leash, though. Haley, can you come here and talk to me? Just come here and grab your dog. >> What the is going on? >> You knock it off. Thank you. Can you just >> Is Ariel inside right now? What's going on with her? >> I >> Does she have a gun? She just point I think she just pointed a gun at someone. That's why I'm asking you. >> I She left. She has all of her stuff. I'm sure you can. >> I saw her looking out the back window from at me. >> Yeah, she she knows you guys are here. She was coming out to talk to you. Come this way. That girl's got a black eye. So, obviously, uh, whatever interaction she had with this other gal probably didn't go that well. >> The other officer who was making sure, >> which I'm surprised they didn't ask, hey, where'd you get the black eye? Are you victim of domestic violence? >> Sure. No one leaves. Sees the suspect. Ariel, exit out the back of the residence. >> How you doing? >> Hey, good. How you doing? >> That was another female in the building. >> I'm smoking weed. >> You good? to Illinois as long as you're at your house. >> So, no weapons or nothing like that on you. >> No. >> So, that's the reason we're out here. Okay. So, we got a call regarding a similar ve uh similar vehicle. Uh that dog, is it on a leash? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> My car barely even worked. >> Yeah, I got you. >> Tires flat. >> Tires flat. >> No, he's >> Oh, it's a friendly dog. >> Yeah, he's friendly. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Similar vehicle and we're actually in the same area. All right. Watch your cast. He's He's He might trip you if he pulls off. >> No, I ain't really doing too much driving. You see my >> Yep. >> Keep searching. >> Okay. Where's it at? >> What? >> The gun. >> It's not I don't have a gun. I barely can drive. >> So, were you just driving this car? >> No. >> Cuz I'm >> Where's the gun? Uh I don't have a gun. I can barely drive. That's not what they asked. ood. So, she already that statement, she correlated the gun with the driving because she knows what this case is about. Those are the little things you look for when they're talking. >> I'm going to check video and we have someone saying it's you. So, I just want you to be real with me. If you're honest with me, I can try to help you out. >> Hold on. I'm sorry. I will take him inside. >> He's so [ __ ] excited that other people are here. I'm so sorry, you guys. >> Just be real with me. >> Can you come on, Mr. You're not being nice. This >> Where is it at? Is it on you? >> I don't have guns at all. >> Okay. What's on you? Why do you need me to hold your crutches? >> Cuz I thought you was going to search me. >> Is this your car? >> Yeah, but it don't even work. >> Okay. Well, couple days ago. >> So, how did it get here? When did you get here? >> Haley. >> Hey, just talk to me right now. Okay. >> I got proof of I got proof. Is there anything illegal on you? >> So, what the guy was doing was feeling the hood of the car, seeing if the vehicle was warm. It's clearly a cooler night cuz you can see their breath. Um, so you feel for the hood of the car. That way you know if somebody's been driving the car or not. >> My weed. >> I don't care about weed. >> That's what I'm saying. So, like if you ain't got no warrant, like I'm chill. >> Okay. Well, right now you're being detained. Okay. >> Can I sit down? My foot is shattered. >> Can I Can you sit in this chair right here? >> Yes. >> I'm just going to pat you down. Make sure you don't have any weapons on you. Okay. >> Two inhalers. >> You can show them on the camera. >> Can you sit right back here? >> Can you stay with her? You're not in >> I know, but the kids in there. >> Okay. I'm not going to try to freak her out or anything. I'm just trying to have >> She already saw me. Let me just watch some >> Okay. Just be careful. He will not bite you. >> Yeah, I know. But we have to shut this door because he will go on a run. >> Similar vehicle. Black female gray dark colored hoodie sweatshirt. That's where we're at. And with you being in the area, that's why we're here. >> Okay. You remember me? >> Yeah. See my face? That's why she's leaving. >> Okay. When did that happen? >> No, I'm just saying I got a bar. Can you take me upstairs? I'm so tired. >> I can damn dog. >> Can I sit now? It's just cold, bro. Just uh let's just chill out here for a second. >> Bro, it's it's freezing cold. >> Saying it's cold. Let's just chill out here for a second. >> It's freezing cold. >> I know it's cold, but like I said, we just got to escape this. >> I mean, it's just freezing cold. >> I know what it is. We heard you. >> We ain't got no Even though I'm being detained. >> So, we we have the right to stop you and let stop you from going inside. That's like where we're at. Okay. >> And the reason why you don't let her go inside is this is a gun case. you know, somebody reported a person matching her description, her vehicle, uh, that was pointing a gun at somebody. So, there's a high probability that there's a gun involved. And so, they you don't want to let somebody walk back into the house or be in an area where the gun might be. >> So, once I get clear, you know, clear instructions from him, the primary officer, we can let you go inside. >> Secure instructions, >> huh? When he comes back out and says, "Hey, yeah, she can come back. She can come inside. >> Let me sit on the stair." Yeah, that's right. >> We trying to fix our cars right now. >> What's wrong with your car? >> My battery's up. >> You're not in trouble. Okay. When she came in here, you were in the shower. >> Yeah, I just got out of the shower. I have a work meeting real soon. >> Okay. I'm just getting all this figured out. Okay. Were you in here when she came in here? >> Okay. Did she Where'd she go? >> In the bathroom. >> She was in the bathroom. >> Yeah. >> And then cuz I saw her peering out the window as I as I >> That was me. >> Uh I saw her. >> Oh, okay. So, she did look out the window. I was going to say, >> which is what drove me drove me here and then I saw this car in the back. >> Um, I have a Roku camera though. I can show you everything. >> Can I search your bathroom? >> I don't give a [ __ ] >> She was here at 6:18. >> 6:18. >> I don't know if that helps you, but yeah. 6:18. That kid. >> Did she go down the basement at all? >> No. You can check like right here, I guess. Here. Mister, please. Libby, go put him in your room. Mister, I'm sorry. Not everybody just wants to be licked. Okay, honey. I'm so sorry. Were you wearing a hat or anything? >> This is what I wear. >> Huh? >> This is what I wear. >> You weren't wearing anything like a do-agg or anything like that? >> I've been in the house chilling. >> So, you haven't had anything on your head? Notice how when he says, "Were you wearing a do-agg or anything?" She's like, now she says, "I've been in the house chilling," which doesn't answer his question. Means that she probably was wearing a do-rag. >> No, >> you got marks like you just said something on your head. >> I've been chilling. I'm in the house. >> I'm wondering, have you had anything on your head? Like a hat, do-agg, anything like that. >> Hey, you have the marks on your head. Like you just took some off. >> Can we sit? Y'all got gloves on. >> Can we sit in the house? >> No. Like I said, this offic Okay. >> Does she have a do-agg on? >> I don't know. >> Cuz she's got marks on her forehead. Like she just had one on and took it off. >> Well, she's had one on all day. >> What color is she sleeping? But then when she came in, she didn't have >> What What color was it that she was wearing earlier? >> Blue. lip. Okay. >> The description was a female with a do-rag on as well. >> That young girl just ratted her out. >> I don't even have a do-rag on. >> What I'm saying is you have lines like you took some off and you're telling me you never had anything on. >> I've been laying down all day. I'm off pills. >> I got you. But I hope you understand where I'm coming from. >> My foot, bro. You don't even understand. >> How'd you break it? >> I jumped off the roof. >> Was it your leg? >> I broke my ankle. Shattered every bone in my foot. So, it could be in here or it could be in her car still. >> I'm going to go look plane in the car and see what >> Am I good to go? >> No, ma'am. They said you have a coat in your car. Do you want me to get that? >> I'm saying my foot >> smart. What he said was they want to take a look at the car. People don't like this, but uh it's very smart on the police part to say, "Hey, they say you had a coat in the car. Do you want me to grab that?" Because then that's going to get them into the car and at least be able to look and see what's in plain view without actually searching the car. >> Bro, that's the problem. Like what's the difference from me to chilling it out? >> Okay, I'll be straight with you. My concern letting you go inside is I don't know if that gun is inside and I can't just let you sit on a couch and maybe have access to a gun. So, he's been given consent to search this area. So, that's what he's doing to make sure there's not a gun there cuz there's a child in the house. >> I don't know yet. It depends. If I find the gun, probably. Yes. >> Just go search her. >> Is that where it's at? >> I don't. She We've never seen a gun. She won't I have a daughter. That's I'm just saying. >> Well, I hate her. Just can you please go and tear that car apart? >> Yeah. I can't do it without a warrant. >> Why? >> Is there something illegal in that car? >> No. >> I need probable cause to search. >> No, because she even has legal weed cuz it's from a dispensary. They said she pointed a gun or she shot somebody. >> She pointed a gun. >> Well, where did she figure it out? I don't think she'd throw the gun out. I think she'd hide it in here or in her car. >> My experience is people just don't throw guns out. Um, this is why they tend to get caught is because they hold on to the gun. Um, try to hide it. >> I don't even own a weapon. >> So, here's the thing. I'm going to tell you all the evidence that's kind of stacking up right now. These people call in, okay? They say a female matching your description pointed a gun at them and said, "I've been through enough today. Having a rough time." >> Do you know who you got that information from, though? A pedophile. >> Okay. I don't know who it came from. So, let me keep going. Let me keep going. So, then your car pulls in, right? They say it's a silver Camry that the female was in matching your description. >> At the license plate. >> Okay, I'm going to keep going. It pulls in. She's got it on her camera pulling in right at the time that these guys are calling 911. They distinctly say that the female had a blue do-rag on. How come the people inside the house say you've been wearing a blue do-agg all day? >> Can I show you my do-rag right now, please? >> Where's that? >> Walk. Can you walk with me? >> Okay. So, what we're going to do right now, >> you can hold my arm and walk, >> man. What we're going to do right now in just a second. Just for a second. Okay. I'm going to have you We're going to help you. You're just going to stand right here. We're just going to have you look this way. It'll be just a second. Okay. >> The office. >> So, what they're going to do is have And this is probably what the video is going to explain, but they're going to have her stand in the light. Whoever the victim was will drive by in a patrol car and then they will take a look and see. It's kind of like a a lineup, but it's her. They'll look and say, "Yes, that's the person that pointed the gun at me." >> Officer is attempting to get the suspect to participate in a show up where the victims drive by and identify if the suspect matches the description. >> I don't own a blue do-agg. I know exactly. I have a shark on my do-agg. >> How come her daughter literally just said, "You wear a blue do-agg all the time." It's a shark purple do-agg right here. I swear I'm f to show you. >> Okay. Well, we're going to do this first. >> Tell Haley to find my do-rag. Bro, they saying my do-rag blue the shark. >> Oh, no. It's purple. >> Can you find it? It's like it's somewhere. >> Yeah. Oh, >> yeah. This is purple. That's not blue. >> Purple. Blue. I mean, from an inside of a car, it's going to probably look blue. >> Can we stand over here? >> Stand right up here. >> I can't stand. That's the problem. That's what y'all don't understand. >> Can you Can we help you stand right up here? >> Hi. This is purple. Not blue. >> Okay, so >> that's very blue. >> No, that's very blue. Like, damn, bro. I was chilling. Can you grab my wheelchair? Write that then. >> Is there a wheelchair? >> Now she's like, it's blue. First she was saying it's purple. Now she's the one arguing saying it's blue. >> Yeah, there is a wheelchair. >> Like I can't stay home >> and I'm trying to help you. >> No, you're not. >> We're getting your wheelchair. We got your crutches. >> Put my blue do. >> Can you hand me the chair? >> After conducting a show up, officers decide they can bring her inside the house safely. >> We appreciate you getting the motion. We'll get back and we'll see if it's okay if we can get you on the couch in there and warmed up. Does that work? >> Please, >> Murphy. >> Yeah. >> Is it okay for her to come in and sit on the couch? >> Do you want her in her house? >> I don't. I'm leaving. I don't care. >> No, she doesn't want her in her house. >> No, I'm saying I don't I'm leaving. Like, I don't care. She can sit. >> Do I own a gun? >> No. I've already told him that when he asked me. This is who I've already talked to. >> Thank you. >> You want to talk to me about what happened today? >> With her? >> No. About you pulling a gun pointing a gun at someone? Nobody pulled a gun at nobody, bro. >> He said he matches description and he goes, "Oh, her her right leg is busted." That makes sense. He said because when she was in the car, she stepped out with her left, but it was like she couldn't get her right. I never quickly searched through the whole house and I haven't seen anything. >> Little plain view of the car. >> You said the do-rag was blue, right? What color is the doodle? >> Purple. But at night, what does everything look like? >> Purple don't look like blue at night. >> So, she's not arguing the fact that she was doing, you know, that she was pulled the gun. She's like, you said that the do-rag was blue, right? >> Also plausible for people to have more than one do-agg. >> I don't got more than one. >> Okay, >> that's real purple. >> This seems like quite a coincidence. You know what I mean? And when I asked you if you were wearing anything, you said you've been chilling. You never said if you had. I said you had lines on your head that you've been wearing some type of >> Cuz I'm chilling in the house. When you take a nap, do you wake up pretty? >> But you weren't taking a nap cuz you just got here. >> I've been in and out. I'm high. >> You guys ask for consent on the car. She said you ain't searching that. That was like 10 minutes ago. She's a little calmer now. You can ask her again. Just go say no. >> Can I talk to you real quick? >> Yeah. You might just step in here. >> Uh, never mind. We're good. >> Well, what's that mean? Uh, I'll tell you here in a second. Boom. Found the gun in the barbecue. Clearly over the radio when he was getting ready to ask talk to the other gal about going back out and searching the car. Uh, that he must have radioed and said, "Hey, we found the gun." So, there you go. That's what their reaction was. Found the gun. >> Oh, no. My cat. My cat. My cat. >> No, you're fine. >> My cat. I got it. >> Hey gang. >> Just sit down. Where are you going? I'm not going to tell you again. >> Shoot. >> No. Shoot. >> No. Stop. >> Shoot. Shoot. >> What are you on the ground? >> Shoot. >> Shoot her. No. No. >> What are you doing? >> Shoot. Stop. I have here. >> Shoot. I have >> Shoot. >> I got that mother. >> Stop. >> What is your problem? Did you tell me? >> She grabbed my [ __ ] gun. No [ __ ] respect. That's not cool, dude. >> Y'all should have left me outside. >> You're under arrest. >> I don't know if you can understand that. >> [ __ ] you ass. >> You really trying to kick me right now? >> Get the gun. Get the gun cuz I got another one. Watch. I'm reaching for it. >> You never search me. >> Well, she said she reached for her pants and she's got one on her. >> I got it on me right now. Soon as I stand up. >> Just double cuffs. It's in my want you to shoot her. >> Well, if it is indeed in there, um, that's pretty big. If you can hold a gun in there, >> gonna be honest with you. It's in my puss. >> She just wants >> Stop scratching me. >> It's in my you, [ __ ] >> You ain't never going to kiss me upstairs that's never going to forget this. >> You ain't never going to kiss me again. >> That's not cool. So, Haley, that's it. Haley. >> All right. Haley, that's it. We will talk. I Yes, I will give you a hug. >> No, I can't give you a hug. >> No hug. No hug. >> If you stop resisting. >> No. No. We're not getting We're not letting you. >> No. I I'm saying I will get down there. >> No. No. No one's getting near. We're done. We're done. >> Get out of the way, Haley. >> You did that. This is what you chose to do and how you just chose to act. I don't know why you would do that. Especially when she's here. Can you just act normal and please my keys? >> I do have your keys. Can you please just act to do >> keep your car? I don't know what to do. >> Same reason I do. I I just I don't understand. This is on you, but I need you to just >> There is no bond bond. >> Why? >> Because there's a selfony disarming an officer. >> I don't think you understand. They passed a law here that's a self act or whatever. They do not let you out. You have to sit in jail until your case is done. >> What the [ __ ] >> Look, Illinois is jacked up. They've done this whole no bond nonsense. But in this particular case, it's going to serve a good purpose because now she's got this felony and she's not going to get out. And clearly, she's got some some un instability problems and pointing guns at people. She's probably better off in jail until her case is adjudicated. >> All right, we're going to stand you up. Let's stand up. >> Give me that gun. Don't touch me. Don't touch me, [ __ ] Don't touch me. >> You know how many charges are up by doing this [ __ ] >> Yeah. Can you just stop? >> All right. You nice. I ain't going to do it to you. >> All right. >> Just go. Just please go. >> Get out of the way, Haley. >> I will make >> carry my back leg or something. >> All right. Can you hop to the front step and we'll put you in a wheelchair? Okay. >> I can't carry me like y'all do everybody else. >> Okay. >> Can I get my last kiss for my girlfriend? Use your legs. Lift with your legs. >> Of course, they got to take her to the farthest patrol car. Left with your legs. There you go. >> Uh to answer your question, Haley, she's going to jail tonight. >> Oh, yeah. Thank you. A records check of the suspect showed that she is a convicted felon for reckless use of a firearm in Iowa. She was previously sentenced to 10 years in prison. >> 10 years in prison, so she's a convicted felon, cannot have a gun. So this is a real problem for her. >> And for that incident, officers obtained a search warrant for her vehicle and towed it off the property. In the vehicle, officers found a bag full of 9mm ammunition along with a Glock magazine similar to the magazine in the gun itself. The gun had no serial number. That's important because in most states, if you were a felon, you can be charged with every round that you were in possession of as well, not just the firearm. And just so they'll tie it in in this case, you'll probably do some DNA or some fingerprints off the gun to ens to to show that she was actually in possession of the gun so she doesn't uh squiggle her way out of that charge. Um, and then the firearm was brown. gun had no serial number and a magazine was inserted >> and a a scratched out serial number. That's not good. >> Inside it there were 14 9mm rounds inside. Ariel was charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer, unlawful use of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon attempting to disarm a peace officer and aggravated assault. >> Boy, that's a that's a lot of charges. She probably going to go to prison for a long time. She went for 10 years on the first firearm charge. This is now a pro prohibited possessor, pointing a gun at somebody, uh, attempt to disarm a peace officer. My guess is she's going to see some significant time. Of course, she is innocent until proven guilty. I don't think she's been adjudicated yet, but uh, man, look, they were she was right in the vicinity of that gun and for for a while and there's no way they could have known, but I'm glad they eventually found the gun and and uh got her charged for these kind of charges. So, let me know what you think. If the guys did a great job, um, and, uh, she deserves some time in prison to think about her behavior. Let me know.
