All right, so first things first, during a traffic enforcement stop, when a cop is pulling somebody over, they absolutely have the legal authority to order that person to turn off their vehicle or exit their vehicle. They don't really need cause in order to do that. It is very, very easy to articulate that. and failure to comply with those lawful commands. As we see in this video, especially when the suspect was being asked several times, that is very easy to be arrested for obstruction, or delaying this officer's investigation at that point. Not to mention failure to provide this officer any other information that you're supposed to during a traffic stop, driver's license, insurance, registration. He just wants to ramble on about how his entire family is in the FBI or an attorney or something like that, which of course, none of that is going to be true. He really just wanted to play games and delay the inevitable because he knew he had a warrant for his arrest. The vast majority of the time, people know when they are wanted. And I'm not entirely sure what's going on with this suspect, if he just acts like this in general, or if he was under the influence of a controlled substance or intoxicated. It's notated in the report, nor did he get a charge for that, obviously. But this officer was giving this suspect a lot of chances to comply and just go with the program. And he obviously just wasn't doing it. there was really only one option at that point and that was to arrest him and take him to jail. Now, the reason why the suspect did not catch an additional charge for possessing that firearm is because Georgia, where this incident took place, is an open carry state. You do not need a permit in order to possess a handgun in your vehicle like we see in this video. As long as you're over the age of 21, you're not a prohibited person, you're not a convicted felon or under the influence of something or intoxicated or fall into that certain criteria where it does make it illegal to possess a firearm. But since the gun wasn't stolen, they didn't have anything else to charge him with related to that. And that's going to be it for this one.
