When prosecutors formally filed complaints, the felonious assault charge was amended, and he was officially charged with three counts of assault on a peace officer, along with disrupting public services, assault, and resisting arrest. At the time of the incident, the suspect was already wearing an ankle monitor from previous domestic violence charges. At his initial appearance, the court set his bond at $250,000 with special conditions, ordering him to have no contact with the victim, and prohibiting him from leaving the state of Ohio. A few days later, he waived his right to a preliminary hearing. The municipal court judge bound the case over to the county grand jury, transferring the charges for felony prosecution. At this time, his court case is still ongoing.
