I just had to get to my son. You [ __ ] fire out. >> You had no legal obligation to arrest me. >> Watch out, guys. >> Come on. You going to calm down yet? Please off of me. >> What starts as a disturbance at a gas station quickly turns into a DUI investigation that's highly dangerous. Officers receive a call about a woman in a white Mercedes who nearly ran over multiple people and fled the scene. But the real story today is not just about drunk driving. It's about how quickly a suspect's behavior can change from a simple traffic stop to a violent physical struggle inside a jail cell. >> Hi >> Y90 RBF. There was a white Mercedes here. Whoever the dispatcher is, she completely messed this situation up. >> Oh, where is it? >> It went that way. >> Oh, the car took off. >> They're they're deranged. They're drunk and they almost like ran over the three of us with with their car. It's a black lady. >> I'm I'm in my car about to leave. The two guys. >> You're in this car about to leave. >> Yes. >> All right. Where was this parked? Right here. >> Right. Exactly. >> Where did the person tried to hit you? Almost hit you. Where were you guys? >> Uh so the two gas station equipments were pumping pumping gas, right? >> Uh I'm in my car. I get out to lock the door cuz I was on the phone. I get out to lock the door. I hear someone yelling. It's this black lady in the white Mercedes. >> And uh my guy walks over to me and he's like, I don't know what she's saying. She came to get gas. Her car is messed up. >> Give me Give me one sec. Just going to that car needs to be taken off the road as soon as possible. >> Why? So, we're trying to ascertain information from you. So, we please don't please don't speak to me that way. >> I'm not speaking to you anyway. >> I'll deal with you, gentlemen. Don't speak to me that way, please. >> What's the issue? >> There's no issue, but I'm trying to explain what the situation is. Please don't interrupt me. >> I'm trying to get information. I'm going to be the officer. >> All right, that's fine. We can worry about the report in a minute. >> Just really quick. Please. Just really quick, sir. >> I'm not new to this. Like, >> the rescue squad wants to know if there's anybody needs medical. No, there's not. I'm trying to clarify that there's not. >> No problem. Just let them know so they can clear. >> No medical, no fire. >> Okay. All right. We're We're good on on medical >> 1372 county. I'll be out with uh with that car Dunkin Donuts 22 East. >> Hey, stay right there. Stay right there. 137. That car just took off on me. >> Where did they strike? Over here. What's up? >> Where do they Where did they strike? >> No, they didn't strike anything. Oh, they did. >> They hit that cabin. They hit the She's drunk in the rain. She almost hit us when I was on the phone with dispatch. Dispatch didn't handle it right. I have her number and everything like that. Dispatch literally told me that I have an attitude. Yeah, we do. But I don't have, you know, I don't have access to the cameras right now. >> We can we can follow up with that tomorrow. >> But that car is a danger to the road. He almost killed us. >> I'm glad you guys are all right. >> I am too. Yes. Thank you. >> Just so he is the responding officer. We're the supervisors here. >> No disrespect for any of you guys, but I'm trying to you you literally have to realize that I we almost >> Did you hear that, Dave? >> Yeah. Not allowed to pursue that vehicle. >> Hang on. What was the first tried to stop it? Just took off on him. >> You could authorize that, but you almost killed him. >> Oh, he did. He's pulling over right now, but uh >> depends be careful when you go, please. >> All right, we'll be heading out there. >> Be advised, our car took over again. Terminating. >> Disregard the last. Continue to try to stop it. >> Copy. >> Okay, let's pause right here cuz you just heard something very confusing on the police radio. [music] The officers are trying to pull her over and she takes off. One supervisor gets on the radio and says, "Terminate," which means stop the chase. [music] But seconds later, another officer says, "Continue to try to stop it." >> Be advised, Del Car took over again. Terminating. Disregard the last. Continue to try to stop it. >> This highlights a massive issue in modern policing called the pursuit matrix. Every department has strict rules about high-speed chases because chasing a drunk driver can cause them to drive even faster. and a high-speed pursuit can become extremely dangerous [music] if the suspect crashes and kills another person. But this is not a normal traffic stop or a simple traffic ticket. Witnesses just reported that this woman had already hit a Dunkin Donut sign and nearly ran over three people. She has now allegedly committed felony eluding and a hit and run. And she did all this by smashing into the Dunkin Donuts sign and fleeing. And because she now has proven herself to be an active and potential lethal threat to the public, the supervisors authorize officers to continue to try to stop her. Let's see what happens when they finally corner her. Also, guys, wait a second. If you enjoy these interesting breakdowns of body cam footage, make sure to check out our channel, Daily Instinct. Keep your hands out the window. Keep your hands >> Don't do that. >> Keep your hands out the window. >> Keep your hands out the window. >> Keep your hands out the window. >> Don't do that. >> Nothing. >> Get out of the car. Excuse me. >> Get out of the car. >> Excuse me. >> You got her. >> Please don't do that to me cuz I turn over nobody on the expressway. >> Her back. >> She hit something at Dunkin Donuts. Her back bumper is in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot. >> And I Yeah, that's how I saw that's how I saw her. >> My bumper off. >> Here we bumper off >> cuz you crashed your car. >> I never crashed my car. officer. Please don't say those things when I'm on the expressway. And I'm abiding guidelines to what your jurisdiction is and to what my safety is. >> This is fresh right here. >> And I have Is that where she hit? >> You almost hit two people intoxicated or whatever >> there. And there's damage on the side. She hit Yeah, she hit a bunch of stuff. Why am I under arrest? >> We on the highway right now. We have to move from >> Why am I under arrest? >> Come on. >> Why am I under arrest? >> For starters, you're looting. Is that what you're under arrest for? You're not pulling over when the officer tried to stop you. >> No. Well, >> you want to get a squad out here? Get a squad out here. >> Are you okay? >> I'm eluding. >> Come on. Now, we're going to put her in the car. We'll get her >> the monitor on the way back. We'll be there. >> My son >> in the car. >> We're going to let you make phone calls and make arrangements for your son. >> I need you to please have a prop of respect and propaganda. >> Stop trying to push past me. >> Stop trying to push past me. Do you want to get Listen, >> don't kick me. >> Do you want to get sprayed with mace? >> I don't Why you doing this? >> Why you doing this to me? Why? I would have paid you for ticket. 55 and above. I would have paid you for the ticket. I don't care. But you don't have to do me like this. I need to get to my 16year-old son. I didn't do anything, you know. >> I didn't do anything and you know I'm in the car. >> Wow. >> Did you see that instant switch just minutes ago? She was recklessly fleeing a hit and run, but the second she's caught, she immediately tries to play the victim by bringing up her 16-year-old son. Suspects use this all the time to try and stall an arrest and manipulate the officers emotionally. But watch how the cops handle it. Instead of arguing back, they use a psychological tactic called verbal redirection. [music] They give her a clear condition. Get in the car and then we'll let you make phone calls. They're offering her a lifeline to deescalate the situation without having to tackle her to the ground. But she just simply refuses to take it. And she's determined to fight. And she's about to become extremely violent. Let's watch what happens when they finally drag her to jail. >> Don't bite me. Don't bite me. Don't bite me. All right. Cuz now you're going to get charged with aggravated assault just for being like that. All right. How am I doing this? >> Were you doing this to me? How does that feel to you? >> How do y'all feel to this? Can you please call Christmas? >> Can you please call Christmas? >> No, I don't care that you don't care. Can you please just call? >> I swear to God, I'm not doing nothing wrong to you. >> Take a seat. >> Sit down. >> Oh my god. Why? This make you feel like >> it doesn't. You're doing it to yourself. All you got to do is sit there and calm down. That's all you got to do. Sit there and not say anything. I would never straight and >> the hair in the mouth is causing me to be really over stimulated. >> So why am I Nobody told me why I'm being tried to >> Nobody told me why I'm being afraid. >> Okay, so calm down and I can tell you >> I need to get the >> calm down and I can tell you that >> calm down. Calm down for 30 seconds and we explain everything to you. I'm already in the war itself. It's [laughter] nothing nobody can do at this point. Nobody told me initially why I'm being arrested. >> Imagine her son seeing this. >> I got arrested. >> So calm down and I'll tell you. >> I'm calm. >> You're not female. You're >> Take a deep breath. Breathe with me. >> I don't need to. >> Okay. I just got >> I can't believe I've got to just relax my You were doing great. You were doing great. >> Doing fine. >> You were doing great. >> Everything is good. >> Because I don't deserve this. I don't know. I didn't react. I don't know. I didn't react. I didn't make a mistake. I didn't make a mistake. I didn't make a mistake. I did that. You had [screaming] no legal obligation to arrest me and you still arrested me. Officer >> Ber just >> you had no legal. My name gets butchered all the time. My name is nine letters and it gets butchered. So what's your name? >> Come on. You just >> Bosar and I said the right [ __ ] So why the you said I butcher >> just in and out. I just had to get to my son. You [ __ ] fire. >> Stop right now. >> Uhoh. >> Exc me on my way. >> Uhhuh. Uhhuh. >> Whoa. You >> got to cut the string around her belly. >> Hoodies hoodies. I don't you want to come out hoodie for what? Take it off. >> Stay down. Take the hoodie off. >> Down there. Relax. >> Relax. >> Talking about take this ass city off. >> Yeah, I hate I love my life. Yeah, I hate you. I love my life. >> She's biting. >> I'm biting. Who I been? Who I been? You got it on camera. Relax. Who's trying to [screaming] kill? Relax. What me? Relax. What? >> It's like a demon. I don't want to hold this now. That's what you want me to be, right? >> This is the exact point where her legal situation goes from bad to life-changing. Arguing with the police or refusing to listen is one thing, but the moment she starts physically fighting, kicking, and biting the officer, this is no longer resisting arrest. You hear the officer yell, "She bit me." Oh, >> she's biting. >> And in law enforcement, a human bite is treated extremely seriously because of the high risk of transmitting diseases and biohazards through bodily fluids. Biting a police officer is an immediate [music] felony. >> All right. >> You know what? Keep the cuffs on her. >> She's biting. I'm not >> You keep saying that. >> All right. Watch out. >> Watch out, guys. >> Come on. You going to calm down yet? >> Get assistance in the cell. >> She's fighting Bring her out. Bring her out. >> She bit me. >> I got the >> bit me. I scream. >> Why? >> Why? Stop. >> Please. I don't want to die like this. >> I don't want to die like this. >> You're not going to die if you cooperate. >> Die like this. Please >> leave her in there. >> Take things off of me. >> Please. I don't want to die like this. [cough] >> Sorry, guys. >> No, you're good. I had to. >> No, no, you have to. No, it's all good. I know. >> I don't know. I might have to go to the hospital. >> She bit me here or where? I felt her bite on me. >> She tried to find me like three times. I [snorts] >> came to Yep. >> My camera's on. [clears throat] >> It's all good. >> I had to change my pants. I have piss all over me. >> Yep. >> We have to call those piss off. >> Yeah. Well, don't worry about uh Sir Pearl right now. We'll get them out of here. Well, she was acting completely possessed and the officers were forced to use mace on her to get her under control. Okay, we just watched this go from a physical struggle to a full-blown biohazard incident. The moment a suspect starts biting, spitting, the officers are forced to completely change their tactics. A human [snorts] bite is one of the most dangerous things a cop can face because of the high risk of infectious diseases. And that is exactly why you see them deploy pepper [music] spray. After securing her, they immediately start checking their bodies for bite marks and bodily fluids. When an officer gets bitten or exposed to urine, it triggers a mandatory occupational exposure control. That means hospital trips, disease screenings, and even months of blood [music] tests for the cops involved. This isn't just resisting arrest anymore. This is exactly how you catch multiple violent felony charges in a matter of seconds. Because of everything she did from the gas station to the jail cell, the police threw the absolute book at her. And she didn't just get a DUI. She received 15 separate charges. And these included reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, resisting arrest, aggravated assault on emergency personnel, and two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer. Due to her mental state, she was taken to a hospital for further evaluation and spent three days in jail before she was finally released. It's a perfect example of how refusing to cooperate and physically fighting with the police will turn a simple traffic investigation into a massive list of violent felonies. What did you guys think of how the officers handled this? Let me know in the comments below.
