On July 26th, 2023, police responded to a fraud report at Texas Roadhouse. The victim, who is residing in California, reported an unauthorized charge on his credit card for an order placed at the restaurant. All right. What you doing, Aaron? Um this is the order that was used. I was able to look at what we like the orders that we had come in and just like put two and two together." Okay. Did he give you his name or anything like that? No, I didn't get any information from them other than just Okay, I'm going to call the police. Okay. And then and then when I went out, so like guess whatever they use like online ordering system and get like a print out like with their name on it. So, he's got on his phone right now a receipt from us with the name of Wing Crew, which I'm assuming is the actual person because when I talked to him, he just had an Asian. Um, so I'm assuming that that's who it actually is. But when I went to the car and just like, "Oh, hey, what was the name for order?" He couldn't tell the name right away. He had to like look it up on the thing and be like, "Oh, my name's Craig." And then showed me that that was what the name was. That was only and uh you can tell the difference between it being like a mobile order, a Door Dash order and like Oh, we don't even do Door Dash or anything. We only go through like our our app or like phone call orders. Gotcha. Okay. So, there's no chance of him being like a third party delivery guy. No, absolutely. Yeah. The only thing I was like holding out for was that like maybe the person that showed up was like a family member and they didn't know that they were like using his credit card or something like that. But I wouldn't want to wait for him to like get here to call you guys. Are you going to be here while? Yeah. You got a bunch of I don't know what's going on. the way y'all pulled me out then I don't even know what and they just read me my right so I know I'm under arrest so I don't even know what that doesn't make you under arrest you are detained though right obviously we told you to come over here right now you're not free to go but you're not under arrest cuz I'm confused really I'm I'm confused about this whole thing I mean I I really don't know like when you I came to pick some food up me come to pick some food up and there four police officers here I mean that's kind of that's kind of like tough for me you know what I'm saying Knock on my girl. Officers reached out to the victim about the charge at Texas Roadhouse asking if he knew the suspect or authorized the transaction. Okay. How did you um find out that your car was used to my car? back in the car. It's going to get all wet. Let me try to All right, sir. Uh, hold on just a moment for you for me. Okay, we're going to have to confirm his identity. So, in the car. Okay. So, you said you got a uh email that someone had used your card. Yes. Was it like an email just letting you know or was it like possible fraud type email? Just a transaction. If there's a transaction, I'm going to get because I set up like this. Yeah. Okay. Did you give anyone permission to use your card? No. No. Did you per chance you you didn't place any orders for another person or anything like that? No. Okay, bear with me just a second here. Do you know anyone in the Orlando, Florida area? No, no, you don't. Okay. Um, have you already made sure your card got cancelled and everything like that or disconnected all that? Uh, I delete my credit card information from my tax root house account after I I found this transaction. Okay. So, you already took care of that part like securing your account and everything. Yes. Okay. Um, if we were to I know I can't obviously have you write a statement when you're in California, but since I have you you on the phone here and I recording and everything, would you want to press charges if we were to locate the person who potentially used your card? I'm sorry. What's your question? Um, if we were to locate the person that used your card for this purchase, would you want to press charges for on them? Oh, yes. Yes. Okay. Okay. Officers then contacted the phone number listed as Chang Fu's phone number with Texas Roadhouse. This is from the Texas Roadhouse. Do you have we have somebody picking up an order for uh Quang Fu? Yeah. Do you do you know that person? Are they Are they on their way here or? Uh no one there. Yeah, they should be there. They should be there. Okay. I guess we're just having a little trouble finding their uh their car. Do you know what kind of car they're in? Uh no. No, you're not sure. Let me call. Let me call. Okay, sir. All right. After the caller disconnected and was unable to provide an answer, officers gathered the needed information and proceeded with the arrest. All right, sir. So, I know you probably already talked to all these other officers. Can you tell me what was was going on with you coming here today for the I just picked up I just came to pick up the food. Just came to pick up the food, sir. Did Did you make the order or did somebody else? No, I didn't make it. You didn't make the order? Who made Who uh who made the order? So, somebody called here at the Texas Roadhouse saying that somebody that they did not get permission to, they don't know who it was, used their card to make an order. You then came here and picked up that order. I didn't get no food. I didn't pick nothing up. I got you. I know you were here to get the order is what I'm saying. That's all I came to get my food. So, I called that person. They said they didn't give anyone permission to use their card. They're not even from the state that you mentioned that your friend is from, and that's why we're here where we're at. So, the person said, "I didn't give anyone permission to use my card. This is a fraudulent thing and I want to press charges because this is not me. So that's why we're at where we're at right now. Being the charge is being pressed on. All I did is came and I didn't even pick no food up. I ain't even grab the food. Well, you're saying your friend's the one that paid for it. But when we call that number, they they don't know what we're the person who called here saying it's their card. They don't know what we're talking about. They said I didn't do that. That's not my card purchase. I definitely didn't purchase it. I didn't. All I did was come pick it up. That's all I came to do. I got you. That That's why we're at where we're at. All right. When we when we run the license in the computer from the state system, the state says it's expired. Let's make it expired. The state says it's expired. So whatever they have on record shows it that it is expired. So a license expired. That mean the date on it ain't right. Right. That's what that's cuz that's what expiration. It means it's not good. Yeah. It just means the license. How was that not good? How Hold on. How was it not good? When I just went to court over here in about January, I just paid my fine in March. I just paid him $3. January was a suspension. There's nothing else and I p and I paid the fine in in in in Maitland on $323. You're going to have to talk to the courts, but it shows that it's not good. It seemed like you only like I ain't even The suspect was charged with fraudulent use of a credit card. He now learns the hard way that financial struggles don't justify stealing from others.
