What? Why are you touching me, bro? What's going on? >> Stop. >> Why are you doing this? What did I do? >> Turn around. Do it. Do it. Taser, taser, taser. >> I mean, these people could have done something to her and you let them go. We've been left here to sit. >> Where is the baby cam? >> They thought they just pulled off an easy heist. No proof and no witnesses. But what they didn't realize was that the eye in the sky was watching them [music] the whole time. And once they passed all points of sale, the cops were there waiting for them and these shoplifters had no idea that the CCTV recorded everything. >> I tell you what, just shoot me cuz I'm not I'm not I'm not I don't even care no more. I really don't. I know I'm not. JUST GO AHEAD AND SHOOT ME. >> On the 10th of October, 2023, in Chamblee, Georgia, police officers were dispatched to a Walmart after the loss prevention team spotted a shoplifter in action. When the officers got there, they reviewed surveillance footage with the loss prevention staff before nabbing the suspect. >> You said what? >> He's hers. >> She got kids with her? >> I don't know. >> Oh. Okay. No, y'all people finna go stop her. Hey, no. Uh-uh, look. Look. Go ahead, you can catch her. Go ahead. Pick up on radio. Miss, you can go right in here. You can step inside. >> Step inside. I'm going to let these people know I'm leaving. >> No, step inside. >> I didn't I didn't touch nothing. Look at my purse. Yes, ma'am. >> They busted the woman red-handed and she knew it, but it didn't stop the woman from pulling excuses out of thin air as she tried to justify her actions. The cops, however, had no interest in her excuses. >> Put the chips down for me. >> Yes, appreciate it. All right, you Turn around. I'm going to search you. I'm going to spread your feet apart. Spread your feet apart. >> What's the problem? >> You're shoplifting. >> No, I'm not. Not shoplifting. >> So, what's that stuff in your cart? >> They come and they pay for my stuff. They've been doing it. >> Have a seat for me. >> You guys are acting like you don't know what's going on. You all know what's going on, but it's not. >> Have a seat for me. >> They pay for my stuff. >> Have a seat for me. >> Pisses me off. You got You're trying to act like you don't know what's going on in here. >> While she continued to try to excuse her behavior, the cops and the loss prevention staff started sifting through her cart. They were totaling up how much she'd stolen and if it came up to more than $400, she'd be facing a felony charge. >> You [ __ ] honest don't you want to assist me? Well, I want to know. Can you tell me that? Can you tell me why I'm on this system? Please. Hey, you. Please tell me why I'm on this system? >> Everything in that bag is not ours. >> You know it's ours, though. You ain't >> Okay, I'll just tell you. >> What you going to hold me for? >> And yet, you got to take me off this system. This is not fair to me and my family. Take me off this system. I can't work. I can't do anything on this system. I don't want to be off this system. That's fair. Take me off the system, I go to work. I filled out applications today, but you have to take me off this system. This system drives me nuts. >> It sounded like she was saying that because she had a criminal record, it was stopping the woman from landing a stable job. As a result of not being able to work, she said she was homeless, and therefore, she had to steal to survive. >> Sit down and be quiet, okay? >> Why do you tell me to sit down? >> And be quiet. >> Why do you keep telling me to sit down? But I'm sitting down. Keep telling me that. You want TO COME OVER HERE? >> And be quiet. >> I'm asking you a question. Did you take me out my truck? >> Ma'am, you continue like this, this ain't going to be a just a regular piece of paper. >> I'mma tell you what. You continue to talk to me, and you lying to me, talking about "Sit down." And everybody can see that I'm sitting down. Y'all, it's going to be grass. Now, I bet you that. You got me set up on this system. That's what she's done. Who are you? Turn around and let me look at your face. Turn around. Turn around. I want to see your face. >> What she really needed to do was take the officer's advice and calm down. That being said, they were still going to put the handcuffs on her because when the cops ran her name, they saw something that caught their attention. >> All right, Ms. Jones, I need you to turn around and put your hands behind your back. >> Okay, what's the problem? >> You have a warrant. >> From where? >> I'm not sure yet, but I need you to stand up and put your hands behind your back. >> Ma'am, I don't have a warrant. >> I need you to stand up and put your hands behind your back. Don't make this hard. >> Okay, but I'm telling you I don't have a warrant. >> I'mma let you know where it's from once they confirm it. I'mma let you know everything before I take that ride. If they confirm it, >> I don't have a >> you're going to go. If you If you don't, I'll let you know. I'mma definitely let you know. >> Why you keep Why y'all keep setting me up for >> Let me get this all right. >> Oh, this got theft system. This is what pissed me off. I want to know who the He put me on this system. Keep me on this system for 4 years. It took down my career. Who is doing this? >> While it's frustrating to have a criminal record, continuing stealing things and breaking the law was only going to make things worse. The suspect here, Ms. Jones, made it sound like somebody was sabotaging her, when in reality, it was her habit of breaking the law that was making things hard on her and keeping the woman from landing a steady job. >> I tell you what, this This shoot me cuz I'm not I'm not I'm not I don't really care no more. I really don't. I know I'm not. JUST GO AHEAD AND SHOOT ME. NO, I'm not. >> Ma'am, have a Have a seat. >> I want to die. I want to die. >> Ma'am, DON'T MAKE THIS HARD. DON'T MAKE THIS HARD. SHE'S FAKING. SHE'S GOOD. MA'AM, come on and get on up. Ma'am, get on up. >> I want to >> [laughter] >> die right now. >> You got a new warrant for burglary to a building. >> I'M NOT LIVING LIKE THIS NO GOD DAMN MORE. >> SO SO WHAT YOU WANT >> SO DO WHAT the [ __ ] you got to do. >> We're going to take you to jail. >> Well, you know, I don't have a reason to go to jail cuz I don't have a warrant. YOU'RE JUST RUINING MY GOD DAMN LIFE. NO. YOU'RE RUINING MY LIFE with this system, and I don't WANT TO BE ON THIS GOD DAMN SYSTEM NO MORE. >> UNDOUBTEDLY, it can be hard to land a permanent job with a criminal record, but if she really wants to have a better life, first she has to make things right. However, she does seem to be mad at the world in general. >> And I'm not going with no ex god damn husband and no ex god damn boyfriend for this They hard. You get mad at me cuz they gay. I called you out. I called you gay. That's all it is. He got MAD BECAUSE I CALLED HIS GAY. And he got mad and then want to start talking about me to her. It's a difference. I don't have nothing against gay people, but I have something against that height. I don't care. I really don't. I'm at that point. I'm going to come back and get you someday. You know that now. So, you call it a goddamn threat or whatever the you want to. This is done. I'll tell you that right now. You better hope you do that to me tonight cuz I'm your over with. >> She was getting increasingly hostile, and it wasn't too long before the cops had had enough. They had surveillance footage, and they also had stolen merchandise, so the only thing left to do was to take her to jail. >> What you going to do? >> Well, let's see what happens if you calm down. >> You know what? You fat. Did I ask you something? DID I ASK YOU SOMETHING? STICK IT IN YOUR MOUTH. >> I'm good on that. >> Yeah, I know you are. You very good on it cuz that's what you do. >> I'm a drug addict. >> Yes, you have. You've been doing it all your goddamn life. Goddamn child. Get me off this goddamn floor. >> All right. Ma'am, put your feet up under your mom here. >> Who I fight? >> You. >> You. >> There you go. >> All right. Where did you get the wallet from since it came back? >> Where did you find it? Where you find it? >> It's a wallet from where? You from where? >> Okay. >> Right in the front. >> From where? Okay. >> Where is it from? >> The camera flashlight is on. >> No, it's not cuz I don't have anything in the cab. Everything in the cab is clear. >> Okay. >> Everything in the cab is clear. I know that for a fact. >> Okay, well, let's stop this. >> Everything in the cab is clear. >> Let that go. >> I lost my goddamn life. TOOK ME OUT OF MY GODDAMN CAREER, MADE ME HOMELESS. SO YOU CAN keep locking me UP WITH MY GODDAMN FAMILY. I'M SICK OF THIS GODDAMN who got me on this goddamn system. And I ain't got no goddamn warrant and no goddamn DeKalb County. Y'all are saying this. I know for a fact I ain't got nothing to do with DeKalb County. >> Ms. Jones was charged with shoplifting. Let's hope she learns a lesson this time and begins to turn her life around. On the 10th of November, 2025, in Havana, Illinois, police were dispatched to a supply store called Farm and Home. Reportedly, the staff there saw a woman stuffing merchandise into her bra. When the officers got there, they reviewed security footage with the loss prevention staff, then confronted the suspect. >> And you you didn't happen to misplace anything, did you, when you were walking around in the store? We just got a call from a customer saying that you were acting a little suspicious, so I want to make sure that you weren't taking anything or anything like that. >> No, ma'am. I just Well, I was going to check out and pay with my Link card, but they didn't know that they didn't take Link card, but I didn't misplace anything. >> You don't have anything in the bag that belongs in the store still or anything like that? >> No, absolutely not. Would you mind if I took a look? >> Um I'm not going to let you search my stuff, but just because there's other things in there, but nothing that is I'm not stealing anything. >> So you're 100% right? >> 100%. >> If you didn't steal anything, then is there a reason I can't look in the bag? >> I would prefer you didn't search my stuff. >> Well, let us find out if you took something. It's not going to be a good deal, but if you want to just give it back now, we won't have any problems, okay? >> There's nothing here that I took that I taken. >> Would you mind letting me see your ID? >> I don't have my ID, either. >> Can I just have your name and date of birth? >> I have a picture of it. >> Okay. Awesome. >> Oh, it's Catherine. My name's Catherine. >> Okay. >> She gave the cops her name and date of birth, but she refused to let them search her belongings. It was a little bit suspicious because an innocent [music] person might jump at the chance to prove their innocence by allowing an officer to search them. >> It was suspicious, for sure. >> I saw a perfume. >> I told you to check you know, I mean >> I saw a perfume [music] in her bag and >> [clears throat] >> it she in plain view cuz the zipper was open. >> It's in plain view, right. I'm not hiding anything. >> But it it looked like a Yellowstone perfume that you had got from the store. That's what they sell here. >> know how you would have known that. Where are you at? >> I saw the emblem cuz your zipper was open. [music] Is it probable cause to search her bag or no? >> We're going to get the cameras. >> She's detained right now. >> I'm asking you to find [music] me detained and whatnot and they don't want to search my bag and I said no. So I'm just curious what my rights are. Okay, I can just leave. I don't know. >> I'll go speak with the supervisor. >> She's revoked. Why don't you have your driver's without a pee cam? >> This one? Oh, you're right. >> Well, she's saying I'm being detained, you know. I don't know what that means exactly, but >> There's reasonable suspicion that you committed a crime. I'm just trying to figure things out. >> that mean though? >> I have reasons to believe that you may have stole something which is a crime, so we're just hanging out for a second till we get everything figured out. You [music] know, your boy's back there still in the dressing room. He's been back there for a while. >> Yeah, he's still in Yeah, Mike's in the dressing room. Yeah, but she's kind of wedding this weekend. It's just They're just being dumb. I mean, whatever she says. >> Suspicious or whatever she says. >> The loss prevention staff thought she'd been stealing, but they couldn't be 100% sure because surveillance footage only captured her from a distance. That being said, the cop who initially confronted the woman said she had a sealed bottle [music] of perfume that the store sold. >> She was over here. >> Okay. >> And then she went over here and then she pulled it out of her bra. You could like see the shape of the bra on her. >> Okay. I didn't >> It's hard to see it on the camera. >> Right. I didn't see it. Um I'm going to go out here with her and see what I can figure out real quick. >> So, here's the deal. I just called the supervisor. I guess it's not enough for an officer to search them. It's just reasonable suspicion, but he said that you guys aren't 100% good with searching them. I do think that she had stuff in her backpack and her diaper bag, she said. There was like a little Yeah, she's got a backpack with her and a coat and a couple coats. I think she stuffed some stuff in. If you guys want to sweep through the surveillance and try to see if you have an actual like video for stealing something then I can create a case and send it to the state's attorney and then she would end up have like a warrant for her arrest there out of Peekin, so it's like one of them deals. >> So, I need to make a call and see if I'm if I'm even legally able to do that. I don't know if I can. Let me make a phone call. >> She's She's detained right now at the door, so >> Okay, I'll take this over. >> The officer confronted her again and gave her a chance to come clean and hand over the stolen merchandise. But, before admitting to any wrongdoing, the woman first had some questions. >> If you If you return this, they're going to let her go, right? If you just return the stuff that you took, they're going to let you >> My perfume. It's in my >> And when we check the video, there's not going to be anything else? >> No. No, there's nothing else. This is our coat. >> It's on the inside of the coats or inside the main backpack, right? >> The male that's walking around with you? >> He's in the dressing room and I don't know. I thought what he was buying was in the cart, to be honest. So, and then I was like, "Well, I'm going to the car, so what are you doing putting stuff in the car?" And he said, "I'm trying on another sweater." So, I don't I don't know. What He's just a friend, I don't know. >> Unfortunately, we have to wait for him to come over here, so >> Why? >> You guys You came in together, you're going to leave together. Well, you're still detained. >> The cops were tired of waiting for her male companion to show up, so they tracked him down, then escorted the man to the front of the store, where he caught up with his partner. Simultaneously, the officer got a call from her supervisor saying she had probable cause to search them. >> I got to search the rest of your stuff. Probable cause, it's not a yes or no question anymore. I don't need consent, so I'm just going to take a quick look and we can get y'all try to get y'all on your way. >> Are you in the van right now? Okay, well, I'm going to go to that Farmington store and I don't know if I'll be able to meet you right now, so we'll go to the apartment and come back. >> Can I get an employee over here? >> I'll just tell you. This is This is it. Okay, I got to go. Bye. Sorry, I'm just going to cuz I have to go to my purse. >> Ma'am, this is a lot of stuff right here that you lied to me >> This is mine. This is it. This is all there. I have to go then cuz I'm going to >> so >> This is all your stuff. >> What? >> And this is why I didn't want you to search my bag because I've got >> So, I'm not getting anything back with that name and date of birth. >> Are you going to arrest me or something? I don't have to do that. >> Make sure there's nothing else in here. Is this your coat or is this something of yours? >> It's his coat. I know. >> Hey, I'm going to need to keep all this separate until I come back later and figure out how much this is all worth and everything like that you can. >> As far as Catherine went, she'd been busted red-handed and she wasn't going to talk her way out of being arrested. The cops also had a hunch that her male accomplice had given a fake name and date of birth. >> Where's your ID at? >> I should have one at home. >> Yeah, there is a coordinate I'm sorry, my memory is really bad memory. I usually have all my information in my wallet written down. >> Where's your wallet at? >> It's at home. >> Is that everything? >> Yes. I'm sorry that you are a new officer. >> Well, this is not a good choice, man. >> It's not a good choice. I'm just in a very bad for spot. This is not my >> Who's the other person that was with you that you were saying? >> Uh >> So, you don't He's just a friend. All right, you don't know him. That's what you're saying? >> Yeah, I met him through a friend. >> Okay, so you can't tell me his Do you know his name is? >> Trevor. That's all that I know. I know. >> That's all you know? >> Yeah. I we didn't even come together. I rode with I walked over here and I think he rode with >> I'll be straight. You're not being honest with me about your name and date of birth. Like, we're looking at obstruction. >> Oh, I know. I I wouldn't lie. >> That's what I'm like I'm not getting anything to come back. You gave me two different birthdays so far. >> I get frustrated. I get It's not frustrated but I get like I I'm not good with my memory. >> I I understand. But, without being able to identify you like you know what I'm saying? Like, I don't know how I'm going to let you like I got to figure out who you are. >> Although at that point, they couldn't be sure about the man's identity, they didn't have any evidence that he'd been shoplifting. However, because Catherine had a bag full of stolen merchandise, her fate was a little more certain. >> All right, man. I hate to do this in the store but it's going to be the safest spot. All right, you can turn around for me. I appreciate you being honest here at the end. So, this makes sense. All right, I'm going to go ahead and place you in my squad car and then come back for your belongings, all right? Just wait right here for me. >> While the cops continued questioning her accomplice, they escorted Catherine through the parking lot and into the back of a squad car. Next, she was taken to jail to be processed further. >> [snorts] >> So, what will happen with your bond or >> I'm not sure right now, so that'll be up to the the jail. Someone will let you know. Need the heat on or anything like that? >> No, I want it off in the back. >> You want it off? You want it off? >> Yeah, there's a little bit. Um >> I'll put them in the front. Do you want to sit back there? I can adjust them for you. >> If you could do the same, just so they're not touching. >> Yes, ma'am. >> This one, too. >> There you go. >> So, you're trespassed from here this time. You're free to go. Didn't find anything on you. Um anything saying you don't have anything. Um I would like to ask though, could you would you give me the name of who else was in here with you? >> I was in a it's I guess she was I think it was Courtney or Courtney or I think it's Courtney. >> Courtney? >> Courtney or something like that. She's on Berry County Market. >> And you don't know what she's driving? >> It's like a silvery car. >> And she was in here with you guys? >> Oh, yes, she is. >> Correct? >> Yes. >> Do you know what like Ford, Chevy, Dodge? >> No, I do not. >> Okay. >> It was a few up here. >> Can you show me your belt your shirt one more time? >> Yeah, I you can check me. You can check the belt. >> Okay. >> The workers did take did a um take the other one back that she had the rhinestones on it. But, you can see that I've I've worn this for a long time. >> Okay. >> Right? I mean >> Yeah, you have. So, I was saying there was an empty belt there. >> No, I I get it. I get it. I understand. I'm not I don't Yeah. >> Like I told you, I mean, you're trespassed, so >> Yes, sir. >> Don't come back. >> They charged the woman with retail theft. That being said, it could have been a whole lot worse because unlike our next suspect, at least she wasn't stealing with her kids. On the 8th of June, 2025, the cops were dispatched to a Walmart after reports of a retail theft. At first glance, it looked like a simple self-checkout screw up, but upon closer examination, it became clear that it wasn't just a simple error. >> [music] >> So, she's purposely not doing any of the clothes. >> I'm going to set you can keep one of them. >> So, they are scanning all the food though. >> Yeah. So, this is the shirt and shorts that she does. This is just a very It's That's what it all looks like. By the way. And then she'll do it [clears throat] again with the clothes here. There's going to be some grocery items on there, but that's because she's >> Let's just hurt. >> Yeah. >> Like did that not get scanned? >> It didn't. It Some of it has been. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> But then others like it was paused and she >> She's just throwing you off. And then And then when she was going to go scan another grocery item, that's when she asked for help. >> But it's just her doing everything? >> Yeah. >> Dude, I wanted to say this lady used to work here, but I'm not totally sure. >> It wasn't a recording and the events were happening in real time. While the officer watched, the loss prevention employee explained what had happened. The suspect here had scanned several of the items, but it neglected to scan others. >> Oh, she got a receipt. Hey, you guys stop her? >> All right, here they come. Get up. Get ready. Why can't you guys >> No, you shouldn't. You should do it. You should get yelled at. >> Go ahead and yell at she every day. >> Hey doc. >> Watch him turn back around. Watch him turn back around. Stopped him yet? Man, I bet they come out this way. We can go back to office. >> Yeah. >> You want to? >> Don't matter to me. You're D2. You call the shots. >> All right. We'll go back to the office. The reason why I'm here is to stop it. >> Yep, he is. >> I'm sorry. I scanned everything. >> Hello, can you step in there? >> Okay. >> You go in there and take a seat on the bench. >> The woman had her kids with her and some of the kids were young and impressionable, which only made things worse. In the loss prevention [music] office, the cops identified the suspect and read her Miranda rights before starting their interrogation. >> All right, so what's going on today? >> I didn't understand that I didn't pay for anything that I bought. I got three kids with me. So, if something wasn't on scan, I It was not to my knowledge. [music] >> Okay, so I've been in here for a while and I've been watching. So, I saw what you did with the clothes, and the crab legs, and stuff like that, okay? >> Okay. >> So, I saw what you did with the crab >> Okay, that's cool. I have I have money >> Okay, so why aren't you scanning these items? >> I scanned the clothes. >> I didn't see you. >> [music] >> I did. >> I watched you. You did not. >> Okay. >> That one just went right over. >> It's not even an argument. >> Okay. >> It's not an argument. >> Is money tight or >> Hm? >> Is money tight or what? >> Yeah, money is tight for everybody. Money is tight. That's why you bugging. >> Yeah, no clothes were scanned. What's the reason for that? >> That's what I like. I scanned it. My kids were right there. Monte, did you not see me scan it? He was right next to me scanning. >> The fact that she would steal in front of her kids was downright despicable. And not only that, she was trying to get the kids to lie for her. As she continued denying any wrongdoing, she was directly confronted with security footage which proved she hadn't scanned the clothing or the other items. >> So, you see the cameras? We're going to go back to what you >> Okay. >> Okay, so you see how you don't attempt that at all? That's what kept happening with the burger. >> I didn't see what you did. >> [music] >> You didn't attempt to scan the t-shirt. >> Where is the t-shirt at? >> Right here. I'll show you again. So, you see you take the bag and then you take that swipe right over you. You don't touch [music] it. >> What? That was t-shirt the black thing? >> Yep. >> Okay. >> So, all this stuff right here, all this clothes, same way. >> Okay. >> So, why is all the clothes just so happen to not be scanned? [music] >> I'm not going to lie to you. I'm not >> going to lie to me? >> No, I'm not lying. You got it. You got it, police officer. You got it. >> Basically, she gave a very vague confession. [music] She was disappointed, but she didn't seem disappointed in herself for stealing in front of her kids. And more than likely, she was simply disappointed that they'd busted her. >> I honestly >> [music] >> I honestly felt like I scanned. My phone was right next to you. >> I understand that. You're likely to scan it, but out of all the clothes items >> Okay. And I can still pay for them, honestly. >> So, I don't know why nothing is not scanning. You walked out the final point of sale with what you did. They're not allowing you to purchase that. >> Okay. >> That's just their policy. That's how they do it. >> Okay. That's cool, but >> You're here constantly, every day. So, I I pay by the book. >> I've came to this store multiple times. >> I first got here, but that that doesn't change anything. >> I'm being serious. I'm I'm not honestly I'm not trying to argue with you. >> [music] >> I'm not trying to argue with you. I thought I scanned them. I have three kids. My daughter is constantly talking to me. You can see that throughout the video. If you open the video up louder, if you open it up wider, you can see her saying, "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy." >> So, she was just saying, "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy." >> Once again, she involved her children in her lies, saying the kids have been distracting her, which led to her failing to scan some of the items. The cops, however, could see right through her deception. She tried to rectify things, saying she had money to pay, but at that point, it was way too late. >> Look what it looks like. It's all over >> I understand. I understand. I understand that but I can't But I feel like I feel like you're trying to justify I just told you I can pay for the clothes. >> Well, you should have done that when you had the opportunity. >> So. >> Do you have your receipt? >> I'm not saying where is the receipt. >> So, ma'am, we're all human. You understand that. We all make mistakes. It happens. >> And that's what I'm trying to say. Like I'm not I'm not trying >> done. One or two items, completely understand. They I don't think they've gone through all the items yet, but when I look at a pile like that, I don't consider that an accidental thing. >> Mhm. >> Nobody accidentally forgets to scan 10 plus items. That's just not realistic or logical in any way, shape, or form. >> Mhm. >> The officer was right. Nobody accidentally forgets to scan 10 items, especially such large ones. The woman's crime was obvious, and she would have to face the consequences. >> So. What we're trying to say is if you came here with the intention I understand you have multiple children. I get it. It's not easy raising raising one. I can't imagine raising more than one. It's a lot. I understand that. Come on. You're going to have to >> Yeah, I will. Exactly. >> So. I understand that. You should be all right. >> Am I under arrest today? >> So, what I'm giving you is a notice to appear. So, technically, you're under arrest just without going to jail. You'll have a court date, okay? This back for you? Okay, so. 9:00 a.m. Tazewell County Courthouse in Pekin, July 15th. Okay? You'll have to show up for that. Not going to issue you a warrant, okay? All right. And so, I got to search your bag since you are technically under arrest, I got to search it. I'll search it in front of you. >> I'll give you my bag. >> Yeah. Okay. >> All right, well, they're done with you, so you guys are free to go, okay? >> All right, thank you. >> Yep. >> Can I have my receipt back? >> What do you need that for, ma'am? >> Uh, compensation for what I bought. Thank you. >> No problem. >> No problem. >> When they totaled up the stolen items, it was $162.52. For that amount, she was given a misdemeanor charge, and she was given a notice to appear for retail theft. Thankfully for this woman, they released her, but they'd catch up with her in court. On June the 6th, 2024, in Lacey, Washington, the cops were dispatched to a Target [music] after reportedly a woman there passed all points of sale with nearly $250 in LEGO sets. According to reports, as she exited the store, [music] she was stopped by a loss prevention agent, but she abandoned the merchandise and fled the scene. Moments later, they tracked her down to a nearby parking lot. >> Hey, come here. Come here, ma'am. Were you just at Target? >> Huh? >> Were you just at Target? >> No. >> No? Why don't you step over to the black car, okay? Where are you coming from? >> I was over at McDonald's. >> Yeah, McDonald's? >> Yeah. >> Okay, you match the description of someone we're looking for. Are you sure you weren't at Target? >> Yeah. >> Hello. You're saying that it wasn't her. It wasn't you that was doing that? Okay. >> I wasn't at Target. >> You weren't at Target at all? Hey, it's 7-Eleven. Do you have a loss prevention someone can call? Seem a little bit out of breath. >> Well, yeah, you guys scared me. I'm a little like freaked out right now. >> Yeah, if you could, have them respond to that. >> [music] >> Do you have your ID, ma'am? >> Yeah. >> Not only was she out of breath, presumably from running away from the Target store, but she also matched the exact description given by loss prevention. They informed the woman that everything she'd done was captured on camera, which should have been her clue to come clean. >> I'm a little freaked out. >> Okay. Do you think loss prevention's going to identify you? >> No. >> No? >> No. >> Okay. So, you were in Target though, right? So, don't tell me you you're saying you weren't in Target at all? Do you know they have video cameras in there as well, too, right? You know they got to warn us and tell you for theft? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> [music] >> Okay. >> I was in like a misunderstanding that went into Famous Footwear with a pair of boots that I had purchased and I called and asked if I could exchange them. I hadn't worn them yet and they said no. And so, I made a mistake and took them in there, swapped them out for a different size. They couldn't even I had to show them which ones I swapped out because they were brand new. I mean, they know it was wrong and I shouldn't have gone about it that way. >> it Famous Footwear over here? >> No, it wasn't Shoe Carnival. >> Oh, Shoe Carnival, okay. The cops asked her why on earth she needed so many LEGO sets, which allegedly was what she'd stolen from Target, but she claimed to have no idea what they were talking about. In the meantime, they waited with the woman as they tried to get a positive ID from loss prevention. >> Well, what this is what we're waiting for them to show up. >> Shoe Carnival? >> They identify and then we'll have to deal with that appropriately. >> Oh, my god, I'm under arrest? >> You're detained. >> Okay. >> We're just not we're being polite and not putting you in handcuffs. Do you live around here? >> I live in Weston, yeah. >> Okay. All right, just place your hands behind your back for me, all right? >> Okay. >> Well, fortunately they have video and the person who is their loss prevention just positively identified you. So, you are now under arrest. >> Where was he? >> I was told he was the one that stopped you at the entrance. >> What? >> 317 11 block 1 from 43. You got to see yourself. >> I'm on the phone. >> Be block one 10-11. >> No, do I have to go in? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> So, what ended up happening? How come you won't tell me about it? You want to talk about it? Okay. >> A bit later, she was positively identified by loss prevention. With a positive ID plus store surveillance, she'd clearly been caught red-handed. Next up, before she was escorted to a squad car, they searched the woman's bag. >> I want to talk to you guys about it. >> No, I can't guarantee anything like that. That's all up to the store. Just let you know you are being audio video recorded, all right? You have anything that's going to stick me or poke me or anything like that? You have anything in your right? >> I have $4. >> All right. >> It's all right. >> I'm going to grab Here for a second. And you are going to be trespassed from this location, okay? From the Target. If you ever come back here, if you try to commit another crime, it's going to be a burglary charge, all right? >> What is it going to be now? >> It's a theft three. All right? >> After securing the woman, one of the employees from loss prevention showed up and filled the officers in on the details of the crime, including what happened when they confronted her. >> Where did you conceal it? >> She was in the hall. In the department. She had a like a blue bag with the like a reusable bag. Put them in there. >> Wait, so my old lady, she stole the bag, too? >> No, the bag she had with her. >> Okay. >> The shirt she has on now to cover the bag and buying pads. So, I walked in front of her and stopped her. >> Got you. Outside? >> Yeah. Like right in between right before the last door. >> Okay. Did you pass all the points of purchase? >> Yep. >> Can I go to grab her? Hello. She's so glad you're here. How are you doing? >> I'm been better. >> I should stop asking that. >> [laughter] >> All right, come on. We're going to go to my car over here. >> I like sweat on my neck. >> Got it? >> No. I want to wipe my like mouth. >> You're good. >> They transferred the woman to another squad car and she was later taken to jail to be processed further. With this recent charge from Target and the woman's outstanding warrant for shoplifting, she was going to be in serious trouble. >> Have your face here. Find your stance. I'm going to search you. Anything um sharp in your pockets? >> No, I have a vape in my pocket. >> Okay. I'll get that. And then after I search you, is there anything hidden in your bra? >> No. >> Is there anything hidden in your bra? >> No. >> Okay. >> Nice phone. Your back pockets. Well, I'm just going to double check your cuffs and I'll get you in there. Are these too tight for you? Okay. Okay, I'm going to have you do this. Back my hands and check my hands in your back, okay? Okay, thank you. You can have a seat. >> They charged the woman with retail theft in the third degree. On the 18th of November, 2025 at a Walmart, loss prevention employees saw a familiar face using cleaning products to get high. They notified police and before the suspect could leave the store, the officers confronted him. >> Okay. >> But I don't know 100% that he didn't already have that. >> Okay. That's fine. Um you um check you want to borrow it and I'll check. Okay. >> Cuz he comes in here all the time and he'll fill up buggies and then he'll just leave them. And then he just walks around. >> Okay. >> Do you want to do a formal or do you just want to verbally do it? >> Um we'll we'll verbally do it. I'll go make contact with him. He's on the other side. She's just going to borrow him right now and we're going to check and see if he's got uh he's got a can of compressed air that he's been puffing in his jacket sleeve. If it's theirs, we'll we'll go about it from there. >> They made their way through the store searching for the suspect. According to the staff, he'd been huffing a compressed cleaning product trying to get high and by the time the cops caught up with him, he didn't like it one bit. >> What? What is your problem? Why you [ __ ] with me, bro? >> No, no, no, no, no, >> What's going on? >> Why did I get arrested? >> Hey, listen to me. Put your hands >> Why did you taze me? >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Why? I'm fine. >> We'll explain everything to you in one second. >> Okay, fine. Sorry. Sorry. >> That was stupid. It was >> It was very stupid. >> No, I'm fine. I'm good. >> Don't try to >> kick. >> I'm not kicking. I'm good. >> on your stomach. >> Oh my god, bro. >> Hey, you got this. You got this, Chris. >> Yeah. Help. Help. Help. I didn't do anything. >> Relax. Relax. >> I didn't do anything. >> Just relax. Relax. >> I walked in with that. I was trying to get out. I walked in. >> Put your other hand behind your back. >> Fine. Sorry. You had your arm on me. How can I put my arm behind my back when you were on me? Sorry. I didn't mean to resist, but like I didn't I didn't do anything. >> Apparently, he'd been causing problems at the store for months, and they wanted him trespassed for good. With the man secured in handcuffs, he was then taken to the loss prevention office so they could search him for stolen merchandise. >> So Can you put your hands behind your back, please? >> Hold on. >> Okay. Put this on. We're going to take this arm out of cuffs and take your backpack off, right? Let's take it off. Let's take your backpack off. You're homeless. Where do you usually stay at? >> Street. >> What's the way you say on the east side or west side? >> Uh I'd say north side. >> Okay. >> You ever been barred from the Walmart before? You ever been arrested for shoplifting before? >> Yes. >> Where at? >> Pittsfield. >> The Walmart over there? >> The suspect stated that he was originally from Michigan and that for a month and a half he'd been homeless. He also told the cops that he'd moved to their state to get some rehab for his heroin addiction. >> What uh what rehab? So you were at >> I know I went I showed up there and they no longer bound. And I gave my bed up I was sleeping there. Well, I bet my thing was to figure it out on your own. >> Got you. Why did they send you down here for rehab? >> I don't know. There's no good rehab in Michigan. >> Do you know about our other places down here? Did anybody ever told you anything about like like uh Advantage? Um I don't know like >> say it? >> Huh? >> Crisis Center? >> Yeah. >> I went there twice. The second time they kicked me out for one day cuz I didn't pay the actual amount of money. >> Okay. >> Yes, I hope you do this to me instead. I think it's going to sound stupid but I don't >> So we got some other uh some other rehab places. So >> Well, I'm going home since it's going to be tomorrow anyways. >> How are you getting home? >> I got to find a way to get there. >> Okay. Where bus ticket, plane ticket? >> He was sad to hear that he was struggling with addiction but the law's the law and the cops obviously have a job to do. Just because someone's down on their luck, they don't have carte blanche to steal things or for that matter commit any other crime. >> I just want to let you know that you're being warned so it doesn't matter if you're legal but you're going to be barred from our location for [music] a year or two years. That's everything at 4375 Lexington Road. Um this whole entire complex that's back here and we're going to call them back and have you arrested for trespassing. Okay? >> No shoplifting or anything? Okay. >> Ow, my face hurts. It hurt. >> Sorry. Thank god. That's your bean. >> What do you mean my bean? >> All right. You said to the pharmacy. >> It's fine. I just It's fine. I'll just >> You want to go to the bus? >> No, it's fine. >> Okay. Get him some route. >> Thank you, guys. >> Do you guys want some water? So. >> I'm all right. >> As the man didn't have any merchandise [music] on him, he was given a 2-year trespass from Walmart, and he was sent on his way. However, after reviewing the matter further, the cops determined that he used force and resisted, [music] so they might have to charge the man with obstruction. One of the cops went after him to wait with him while they made their decision. >> Can I wait for the bus right now? Can I wait for the bus? >> You can wait for the bus, that's fine. But, just hang tight with me for just a minute, man, okay? I'm not putting you back in cuffs or anything right now, like anything. So. We just need to get some >> You just You just got to like watch me till I leave, basically? >> Yeah, so we just got to get some stuff figured out, okay? >> Okay. >> So. >> I'm not answering questions. >> Hang on. They run every 15 minutes. >> This is 17 minutes away. >> Yeah. So. >> I'll just walk to where my buddy works, and then just >> Where does your buddy work at? >> Uh Whataburger, not Whataburger, it's a right over there. Like literally right over there. I won't come back here, I promise. >> Well, just hang out for me just a second, okay? Just one. So. >> All right, what's going on? >> We just got to see if we got to do paperwork. That's all, okay? So, I >> I'm about to be like, you got a charge or something. I'm about to be like, bro, what do I do? >> No, I I just need you here just in case we got to do paperwork, okay? >> The officer engaged the man in small talk, and at that point, it seemed like everything would be pretty straightforward. However, sensing something might be up, the suspect was starting to get a little bit anxious. And that's when when officer had to break the news to him. >> You messed up. I what? >> Just have a seat on the fence. >> Well, what's going on? >> Just have a seat on the fence, okay? You're You're fine. Just have a seat on the fence. >> You said I'm good. You didn't say what. >> Just Just have a seat. >> What if I run out? >> Just have a seat. Okay? Cuz I don't want you taking off on me if I got to do some paperwork, okay? That's it. >> That's not going to be legal anyways, would it? I mean >> All right. What's it stand for? All right. Stand up. >> What's up? >> Stand up. Turn your back. >> Why? >> Turn your back. Turn your back. >> [music] >> All right. >> What What happened? >> One more One more I'll let you know here in just a second, okay? >> Who Who was I? What can you tell me now? What >> [music] >> What Why are you seeing now? >> All right. So, it's going to be I do believe it's going to be for the obstruction, okay? >> Obstruction of what? [music] What does that mean? >> When you try to fight us. >> I didn't try to fight you. I didn't know what was going on. >> Bring you back over here. >> Obstruction, are you serious? Obstruction, are you serious? That's insane. >> He could deny all he wanted that he got physical with the cops, but [music] the surveillance and the body cam footage showed otherwise. >> What do you do when someone just grabs you from behind? I mean, what was I supposed to do? You didn't see your car. I didn't see your car. That's where I stopped. That's crazy. [music] That's going to violate my probation now, isn't it? >> If you're on probation, yeah. >> [music] >> I'd like to have your son. >> Put it right there. So, I don't know what he told you, but you don't get to fight the police and then walk away. >> try to fight the police. I didn't know who you You didn't say who you were. You came up behind me. >> right at me. >> No, I was facing the other way, bro. >> And then you knew what was going on cuz you were trying to hop on it, [music] but I was trying to take you in. >> I was trying to leave. Well, I was like, I'm going to walk away. Hey, yeah. >> Okay. That doesn't make any sense. Hold on. Give me a second. >> He was >> also charged with obstructing justice and resisting. On the 5th of September, 2025, the cops were dispatched to Dick's Sporting Goods after reports of a shoplifting. When the officers got there, they found the suspect in the parking lot just as she was trying to drive away. >> Okay, so what's going on today? >> They tried to say I was stealing, but I wasn't though. >> Okay, I saw both of you guys running out of the the store. >> Cuz I was running for my life. I was playing. He said something to me. He said you was stealing out there. He said the police on the way. >> Okay, you got IDs on you? And then you got receipts for the stuff you purchased? >> Yeah, I don't know what >> You got receipts for me? >> No, I don't have the receipt. >> You got nothing in there? No merchandise in this car? >> If I let you go, I'll be honest. >> Tell me what you got on you. >> I got merchandise in here. Please let me go. I got my baby in here. I do got some merchandise in here. >> Okay, hold on. >> I brought some stuff in there though. >> Okay. Like that? >> I had brought all this in there. And I had took the outfit in the back. >> Okay, can I see those clothes? Where are they at? >> He was doing something, man. >> I got to make sure >> He was the one that was wearing the black and white when he was running. >> Okay, so this is You did not take this bag, right? You took the bag inside? >> He Yeah, he trying to say I took the bag, but I didn't take the bag. >> I Can I look in here? Can I look in here? >> Yeah, go ahead. >> I'm going to put it right on the floor. >> But I told you it's all fit in there. One is mine. >> While the officer searched her bag, one of the other cops went inside to talk to employees. While she admitted there was unpaid merchandise in her bag, she still thought that the cops should let her go because she'd also made some legitimate purchases. >> What's going >> How you doing? >> Did they take anything or >> Yeah. >> Yeah, okay. >> Yeah, so that black that big black bag she has, that is full of stuff. >> It's full of stuff? >> Yeah, she did not walk in with that bag. That's why we We verified that she didn't have her bag. That's why we >> Do you guys know what all she took from in there? >> We We didn't see her actually conceal. We we saw her with the bag full of merchandise. We check cameras to see if you walked in with it. It's She didn't walk in with it, so she know we know she got it here. >> Okay. >> So, that guy in that red hat, he's walking towards you. Yeah, okay. >> He was in here carrying around a bunch of shoes. You were watching him, too. >> The guy >> Did he take anything? >> We don't think he took it. >> Okay. There's two of them, right? >> Yeah. There's two of them, yeah. >> There's one in the front jacket. >> Okay. >> That one. >> So >> So, just to be clear, she was accused of walking into the store, taking a bag, then loading up with merchandise before leaving. It was a very bold shoplifting strategy, and at this point, it seemed like it wasn't going to pay off. >> All that stuff. Bag and everything inside it. >> Yep. >> That bag is not hers. >> She did not come into the store with the bag. >> Okay. >> But everything inside of it is stolen. They don't have an inventory of the store, they don't have an inventory to see what's >> Okay. >> These are all my personal, so We'll call posting. >> Do you want me to call anyone? >> This is 80 as well. This is There's a tag on the bag. >> There was something right here, but this is still >> Okay. >> It's still packaged. >> Yeah, it's still They said that was She didn't come in with it. >> The cop gathered up the stolen merchandise, put it back in the bag, then returned it to the employees so they could tally up what she'd stolen. If in total it was over $400, they'd be charging the woman with a felony. >> And I just want to confirm you want to press charges and everything. >> Uh now you guys got the merchandise back. I don't know how your policy works, so Let me make a phone call real quick just to confirm. I'm assuming yes, but I always have to. >> So, they did leave the store and everything, so >> Yeah. Yeah. So, She was with her putting stuff in the bag cashier also witnessed him putting stuff in. They saw him do >> Her Her name is Kaylee, right? >> Her name is Kaylee. >> Kaylee. >> That's right. You know that. Uh this 90 days. It all happened >> Yeah, I have I have that to receive. >> Back in the parking lot, the cops were waiting with the suspect while the staff tallied up the stolen merchandise. By that point, she had given the officers a name, but she said she didn't have any idea on her to back it up. >> Come on out for me. >> I'm going to get my phone. >> All right, you got to come on out anyway. >> I'm coming out. Hey, hold hold this officer. >> Right there. >> Right. >> So, put your hands up. Put your hands up for >> Yeah, I didn't even lie about my anyway. Oh. No, no. I didn't lie about my name. >> Okay. >> And my birthday. I told you and told you to get handcuffs. It's crazy. >> Next time you >> My baby is crying. >> You got anything on you, miss? Oh, what you talking about? You got to make me feel like I'm >> Oh, my baby is crying. He ain't never cried. And I just ate damn And my birthday. You told me to >> You got to come on. >> I would have >> She had a hell of a lot of nerve to be upset that her baby was crying. Maybe if she didn't want to distress her child, she should have thought about that before stealing hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise. >> So, this stuff This stuff This stuff is over $400. That's a felony, okay? >> I know what it is. I would >> You done this before, right? >> Yeah, I'm being honest with you, though. I can get a citation. >> I understand that. And I I appreciate you being honest with me. You understand the the severity of this. But, I got a couple more things. You saw me turn my lights on. I saw you go out. You didn't stop. >> Because I was trying to park. And my baby and I and I was trying to figure it I was trying to figure out to call somebody for my baby cuz I knew I had these wounds. I I wasn't going to run. If I was going to run, I would have just veered off. I wasn't running. >> Okay. >> With the woman secured in the backseat, the cops turned their attention to her accomplices, a man and a woman. And let's just say they were far less cooperative than the woman who'd already been detained. >> Step out of the car, please. Please get out of the car. I'm telling you to step out of the Step out of the car, please. >> Okay, why are you >> Get out of the car. Get the hell out of the car. >> You heard what we're saying? >> You I'm a fool. I ain't going to do it. >> I am. You're here. >> Why did you snatch me out of the car like that? >> We asked you to get out of the car. We asked you twice to get out of the car. You telling me no. You're here. Let's see if I can >> Anything physical to her, man, that's my sister. Yeah, we do anything physical to her, we going to get real active in this. We going to get real active. Going on. Y'all do anything physical to her, we going to >> What are you going to do, buddy? >> I ain't coming up >> Turn around. Do it. Do it. Taser, taser, taser. Get over HERE. WHAT DID I tell you? HUH? WHAT DID I TELL YOU? >> YOU TALKED YOUR WAY INTO THAT, didn't you? >> Talked your way into that, buddy. Come out here and you mouth off to us. We're going to find out who you are real quick. >> going to find out who I am real quick. >> Yeah, go ahead. We're going to find out real quick. What's that mean? What does that mean? Huh? >> The suspect wanted to be a tough guy, so he had to pay the price. It clearly wasn't worth it, and no amount of fighting was going to change what was shown in the surveillance footage. After that, it was time to load him into a squad car and take him off to jail with his friends. >> I keep expecting that one. >> Hell yeah, I've I've of it. Mouth off to too. Came up trying to pick a fight. Why? Why? Yeah. I've had enough. I've had enough. I've had enough. I've had enough for the day. This one. You just pick me up. How y'all pick me up? I'm going to pick me up. I was fine. You want to call me what? I weigh more than your ass. You know I'll be tough, though. I definitely weigh more than this [ __ ] And the good stuff. Y'all need to I'm back here. Oh, holy cow. I want to go back there. All right. We good. I've had enough. I've had enough. You weren't so tough when I wasn't cuffed, though. I'm tough, though. You ain't so tough when I wasn't cuffed, though. You weren't so tough when I wasn't cuffed, though. Yeah. You want to do all that when I'm in cuffs, though. Hey. I'm in cuffs, though. Hey. You do all that while you were in cuffs. Hey. You Yeah, you walked up on me and did all this stupid Hey. It ain't Here's your car. Are you satisfied? You satisfied? I don't know. It don't mean nothing. Yeah. This is next door, correct? >> The woman was charged with felony retail theft, and as for the male accomplice, they charged the man with obstructing an investigation. On April 13th, 2024, in Indian River County, Florida, the cops were dispatched to Walmart after reportedly a woman there had stolen $32 worth of markers. >> Hey. Did you steal anything or anything like that? Okay. Hey, man. I told you to calm down. to come and to to you. She actually tried to walk out with it. >> She did. Um I stopped her right outside on the >> Okay, that's why. >> Okay. I'll show you that clip next. >> What's the total value of all the items? >> Um 32.84. >> Okay. >> Like can you I was going outside to get my card, please? And then what? >> I I I I know I know the answer what we want to do. >> Uh prosecute trespass. >> All right, I already did the trespass, so yeah, prosecute. >> Fair enough. >> The loss prevention employee copied the footage onto a USB for the cops. It was a childish theft that consisted of crayons, magic markers, and pens, but nevertheless, theft is still theft. The suspect here, Jessica, was trying to cry her way out of things, but the cops here weren't buying it. >> Some of those were open. Those were already open. >> They were already open in the aisle? >> They were already open in the aisle. All I did was take one or two. I was going to try them. I wanted to I was going outside to get my card. >> All right. >> I swear. >> Even if they were open, you know you can't just put them in your pouch and leave, correct? All right. And then on the on the cameras, we see you opening the packaging for the for the markers. >> [clears throat] >> No, those were already open. >> We have video. >> I promise. I swear. You can zoom in. They Those two were already open. All I did was take take the marker out. >> All right. So, all the all the all all those item all those item there where you you didn't intend to to pay for, you just walked out. >> No, I was going to get my card. >> Like the officer said, it didn't matter if the package was open. It didn't give her the right to steal them. Furthermore, her excuses were ridiculous because you can't leave the store to go and get your bank card and then come back and pay afterwards. That's just not how things work. >> So, you have money on your card, but it was inside your vehicle. >> It was in her bag, in her purse. That's all. I was going outside to get it. You can ask the service station. >> All right. >> I promise. >> So, so you may have left some items within, but you you did have stuff in your in your >> Yes, I did. >> So, you you know you're not allowed to do >> it. >> You know you're not allowed to do that, right? No matter no matter the amount. >> Shouldn't have done what? Everything's so confusing lately. >> She told the cop that she had some mental health issues, but that wasn't an excuse for the woman to steal. The surveillance footage, along with the woman's confession, was enough for the officer to take the next step. >> All right. So, so based on my investigation here, can you stand up? You mind standing up? >> No, please. Why? Please don't take me. I promise I gave them to her. >> You left. >> I wasn't leaving. I didn't even make it out the door yet. >> Jessica, STAND UP. >> I CAN'T. I won't get out. Please. >> Stand up. >> [laughter] >> Please, I won't get out. Please. >> Turn around, face the wall. >> Please, I WON'T GET OUT. [screaming] I AM SORRY. PLEASE. PLEASE, I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING STOLEN ON ME. PLEASE. PLEASE. >> Hold on. >> What am I doing? Why I was being honest? >> What's the charge? >> That's not the right thing to do. >> Do you have any warrants? >> Definitely slow. >> Oh, please, no. >> She was a full-grown adult, but she was acting like a spoiled baby. Clearly, she needed to grow up. She was accused of stealing the markers, totaling $32, and it wasn't the end of the world. She could chalk it up as a learning experience and never do it again. >> Please, these people do this all the time. You let them go. We can let her see her sister. >> Well, here's the thing. We can't because we don't have ties in Indian River County. >> But if you have ties in Indian River My sister's here. >> Do you have ties in Indian River County? Can I have the address here? Did she just write you an address yet? >> A stolen article charge is still the same thing. It is what it is. >> I know. >> It is what it is. >> Take me there, please. I'll pay. >> That decision's already been made, which is a properly made decision by Deputy Saunders. >> Please, I'm just going to pay. I even told I would pay. >> Well, one dollar don't they don't play. >> I know. I'm sorry. I didn't realize you were done. >> One dollar doesn't play. >> I'm done. >> It's impossible. This is an act and when they want to press charges, we have to serve them the way they want. >> Please, don't hurt me. >> It's a $500 fine. >> I don't have a $500. I don't even have like 40 bucks.
