Uh, you've had some relations with your dog that we're not going to do again, right? >> No. >> I'm thinking they're they're just a dog. >> Okay. >> And a dog's going to sniff around and and maybe lick, but >> [music] >> February 4th, 2025, in Torrance County, New Mexico, three civilian predator catchers arrive with Brian Christopher and a phone full of evidence. But once detectives begin separating the claims, this case starts moving somewhere nobody expected. I'm Bart Corraining and this is Police Watch. >> You guys just want to bring your vehicle over here or >> How's it going, sir? >> How's it going? >> Alex Braden, nice to meet you. >> Alex Braden. >> Um, that's that's Brian right there. Um, basically, Brian, uh, you've had some relations with your dog that we're not going to do again, right? >> No. >> Oh, it never happened? >> It did happen. >> Okay. >> And then we'll never do it again. >> Okay. And so Pete, and there was an incident with your uh, niece Lilly or cousin Lilly that would be probably child visitation that happened a couple years ago that you're not going to do again. >> No, we'll never do it again. >> Okay. How many times did that happen where you molested her? >> So, it was Well, it was teaching. >> Oh, okay. >> not touch her. >> Well, I guess we'll uh, show the footage then. That's fine. >> Okay. >> So, we're going to go over here. Um, we got to get everything figured out. My boss is going to talk to him and then I'm going to kind of get your guys' side of the story and everything that's going on. So, we'll just go over here and get that figured out. So, you want to take >> I'm going to take him inside and >> Go talk to him in the interview room and then I could just take one of them one by one or just talk to them outside. >> Okay. >> I don't want to make it >> So, from the beginning like with it's Brian? >> Correct. Brian Christopher's name. He lives um, west of Mountainair in And um, basically, we have a group we catch online predators across the country. Uh, we're from Houston, Texas, but we go to every state except for Alaska. >> Okay. >> have arrested in 46 of those states. And usually the way we do it is we pose as a minor online. Predators from across the country message us under under the assumption we're minors. And once we feel like they're going to break a state law, depending on the state, or we have a hunch they're into some other stuff, we approach them um, on camera in person, whether they're meeting up with the minor or whether we show up to their house. In this case, he invited her over to his house. And so, about a month or two ago, Brian hit me up on Meet24. I was posing as an 11-year-old girl, and the picture I was using is one of the ladies who works for me. She's a 29, but we use FaceApp to make her look younger. And yeah, so his first message to us was like, "I want to put I want to put your toes in my And then I just respond to him saying I'm 11. He's like, "It doesn't matter." And you know, he just goes on and on about it. And you know, I basically tell him like, "Oh, I'm from Houston, but I got family in Los Lunas." And he's like, "Oh, you should come over." And over the course of the conversation, he mentions that he gives us his phone number. So, I put his phone number into Telegram, and I see that his name on Telegram is doggy doggy lover. So, that prompted me to ask him as a decoy, "Oh, do you have any pets?" And he's like, "Yeah." And I'm like, "Oh, yeah?" And he's like, "I do stuff with them." And since it's like, you know, obviously I don't want to see the photos, but since it's bestiality, and from what I understand, not you know, the photos are gross, but not technically legal to receive. I'm like, "Do you have any evidence of that?" Like then I'm like, "Show me." And he sends me photos of like his dog like he didn't he didn't take those photos for me, but he had those photos already of like his dog sucking on his butt hole like multiple instances of that. And you know, so I think right there, that's like an easy charge. I got the photos to show you as well. And you know, he wants he gave his address wanting us to come over. And I'm like, "Yeah, I can come over like early February." And then today was the day. And he's at the gate waiting for us. And then I approach him in person. He voluntarily gets in the car to talk to me cuz it was kind of cold outside. And I told him when he got in the car, "The doors are open or they're I mean they're unlocked. You can walk out at any time. You can tell me to piss off." And he's like, "No, I understand." And we talked to him for probably what, an hour and a half? And he admitted that he knew the girl was 11. Ended up admitting that he wanted to do the toe in the thing. I know New Mexico, it's kind of weird with non law enforcement posing as a minor. I don't know if it's prosecutable or not. But obviously the bestiality and him receiving child definitely should be. And um yeah, so he he admits to viewing uh that he's viewed child on Telegram uh that's sent to him. He claims he deletes it all, so I'm not sure. I guess a phone dump will determine that. But he said what he does say from Telegram is like just the bestiality stuff. So I don't know if that involves children or not, but you know, probably a gray area. But um he went into detail about like what he does with his dog. Like he said he does finish inside the dog's mouth sometimes or that he does it on a napkin he has the dog lick up his And he said that's on camera. We have the footage for you. And he mentioned there was a situation with a 12-year-old niece of his named And he said her last name begins with a B and he gave me her parents' names. >> Okay. >> And she's he said he lives she lives like in Albuquerque, but there was an incident where he got quote unquote falsely accused of molesting her. And basically, you know, so some way somehow he ended up admitting that, you know, that he did end up doing it because I was like, "Well, you know, cuz you're like, 'Oh, the family walked in and they just accused me of this.'" And I'm like, "Well, they were probably just screaming at you and this and that. I don't think you would ever force yourself onto her, but you know, I was like I think it was consensual." Then he ends up admitting that um he she she basically him off for like 5 minutes and that he had after that. And that's also on camera as well. I'm sure. >> if that happened out here or was that in Albuquerque? >> Yeah, damn it. >> Or I mean I can follow up on that. Like if he's going to be willing to talk like I just I was curious if he said anything to you guys. >> At home. >> Well, yeah. >> The dog happened here, for sure. >> Okay. >> Like he he did say it happened at his house. Um the molestation Yeah, follow up on that where it happened. We got to ask that. >> There's quite a bit of things like so there is such a thing as child like that's a charge in New Mexico and criminal sexual contact with a minor regardless if you're posing as it or not. Like you're doing it on your own, like it's not us doing it, but there there are agencies that have um special units that do that. Okay. And then you said that he you have all the messages and everything like that. >> and then everything on video. >> Yes. >> Okay. But everything relating to him saying he has child pornography or has viewed it, um the bestiality stuff, the stuff that he did done had done with his niece, that's all on video. >> Yes, so the he we have the pictures to back up that he's done bestiality as well as his confession on camera. With the niece, that was totally like it just came up during when I was talking to him. >> The three men outside are not law enforcement. They say they used a decoy profile claiming to be an 11-year-old, collected Brian's messages, and recorded their confrontation before bringing him here. >> So, um he also hangs out with the one of his other niece is called named Aurora who's 7 years old a lot. He would not admit to her, but he's like, "Yeah, I mean, I've like kissed her and cuddled her and she sits on my lap sometimes. I think there's something there, but he just wouldn't confess up to it. >> Okay. Did he give the name Is this the same Like is this the sister of the other niece from Albuquerque or the >> I don't think so. Um That's his brother's daughter. >> Okay. >> So, I just sent you a picture like there's no profile links on me24s, but I just sent you a picture of my profile here. >> Okay. Let me go see what's going on with all this and then Lieutenant Ballard may come out and speak with you guys. >> I'm not going to talk to you about anything that that they're saying occurred. My concern Have a seat. Um my concern is to make sure that you're okay and we're going to go from there. I have honestly I'm I'm in my 16th year of this career and I have never had anything like this happen. So, we're going to get it figured out, okay? You were in the car when these guys called, correct? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Are you injured? >> No, sir. >> Okay. Are you here voluntarily? >> Yes, sir. >> Are you sure? >> Voluntarily means what? >> Well, that that you're here of your own free will. Did Did you get into a car How Did you get into a car with these people knowing they were going to come up here to the sheriff's office? >> They drove here to my place. >> Okay. >> And I came to the car and then they started investigating me. >> Okay. Were there ever any threats of violence or anything like that? >> No, sir. >> Okay. There's a couple things going on here. Alex, the detective that you just saw outside, the other guy wearing the green jacket, he's the one that will speak with you about the the underlying allegation of what's going on. And we're going to get it figured out. My concern and the reason I'm talking to you is because there could be two separate things here. They're not the police, okay? I I don't know exactly what's going on. I don't know what they're investigating or how they went about it. This is new to us, but you can't be taken from a place without your permission. Or or like I want to make sure that you're not a victim of a kidnapping on top of that. So, I guess you you said that they showed up at your place and that that you came up here. You said there was no violence. >> I had invited them to my place. I gave them my address and they came up. >> But thinking it was somebody else, correct? You didn't know it was three guys, I assume. >> I didn't know that it was the three guys. >> Okay. When they got to your house >> it was one single person. >> Okay. When they got to your house, did they ever get physical with you? >> No, they didn't. >> Okay. And and you're Are you saying Do you know what voluntarily means now? Like where you do something because you want to do it, not because somebody else wants you to do it. Does that make sense? >> Yes, sir. >> So, did you come up to the sheriff's office voluntarily, meaning you got into the car of your own free will, they didn't force you? Or did they force you? >> To me it felt like they were forcing me. >> Okay. That's >> Because because they said we can take you back to your place and they threatened that we're going to get your your family involved with the all of this. >> Okay. When you say that they they said they were going to involve your family. So, and and correct me if I say something that's not right, you have to make sure you let me know. Did they tell Is Is reason you came up here because you wanted to avoid them telling your family what's going on? >> Yes, sir. I wanted to protect myself from them telling my family. >> Okay. I guess my question again and I need I need a yes or no answer if you can. Did they ever get physically Did they ever touch you? >> The bigger guy with the thing on his thing, he helped me over the gate. He touched my hand. >> Okay. But helping you over the gate, he didn't Did he? >> He didn't hurt me. >> Okay. When this is done here, I don't really want you leaving with them. Uh you don't know these people, correct? >> No. >> Okay. I don't think that's safe. We want to get you back to where you live. Does your fiance know where you're at right now? >> No, she doesn't. >> Okay. >> Brian is 27, living on a family property with his 25-year-old fiance and disabled uncle. As Detective Alex takes over, he has to untangle exactly who he is dealing with, trying to separate Brian's diagnosed cognitive delays from his calculated choices to hide his behavior from his family. >> There's a possibility that there's evidence of a crime on your cell phone, okay? Because of that, I can't let you use that cell phone because I don't I can't have that evidence be destroyed if that makes sense. >> Yes. >> Knowing now uh that you're here, I'm not going to say totally voluntarily, but you weren't you weren't forced here by by threat of violence. You came to avoid these people telling your your fiance what was going on. But because you're here right now and because it sounds like something may have happened that that maybe went a little too far or that you weren't totally comfortable with, because of that, you are detained now. Do you understand that? Okay. With us. I'm not saying you're going to jail. I'm not saying anything. We have to get the facts. Are you under any medication or anything like that? >> No, I'm not. >> Okay. What about drugs or alcohol? >> I have smoked. >> Okay. >> Sometimes I like to to have a drink, but I'm not but I'm not an alcoholic. I'm not a druggy. >> Okay. Do you have any mental health diagnosed mental health issues? >> No, but I do have mental in developmental delays. >> Okay. >> It's special needs factor. >> Okay. So, when you say developmental delays, what does that mean to you? >> Cognitive. Sometimes I have a hard time remembering of where where everything is. >> Okay. >> Um sometimes I don't have of uh I don't know what's right. I don't know what's wrong. >> Okay. You may have to go to jail. That may but maybe. I'm I'm just letting you know the truth, okay? Brian, please. I'm just letting you know the truth. I don't want to lie to you. The other possibility is it could be issued in the form of a summons. That's not usually done in cases where it's it's serious felony cases. But it may be an option. I really want to leave that up to Alex and the District Attorney's Office if it gets to that point once he speaks with you. But right now, I would be I would be lying to you if I gave you an answer. But yes, there are options that we can deal with, okay? You've been nothing but cooperative with me. That's a plus. We can deal with whatever happened as long as we can kind of get to the bottom of it and what you say is the truth. All right? So, I'm going to let Alex come on in >> All right. >> and I'll get out of your way. So, this is Alex. Alex, this is Brian. >> Alex. >> Hi, Alex. >> Good to see you. Good to see you, man. >> I'm very terrified. >> Okay. >> I don't want to know. >> So, we know >> Well, I kind of heard what Lieutenant Balder was saying. This is one of those things where I'm going to have to work with the District Attorney's Office on this. I I I work on I'm the one that does these cases. Like I'm the guy that does the internet. It's considered ICAC Internet Crimes Against Children with some of the stuff that has been mentioned. It's You may have to do some jail time. I'm not going to lie to you. These guys get out. This isn't something they get held on. You just need to make sure you show up for court. How How you met those three gentlemen? Like, let's just start there. >> So, I was on this social media code Meet Free, and I bumped into his profile. I said, "Hi." Wait for an answer. "My name is so-and-so. My name's Brian. I'm I'm 26." And then he said, "I'm 11." And I'm thinking I'm just talking to a girl the whole time. And And then it started going on about started talking about my dogs and stuff like that. And showing them love and stuff like that. And they started kind of licking in other areas. >> Just so, like it's going to be a little awkward. I mean, it's never comfortable [snorts] saying like some of these words, but just because I don't want to misinterpret what you're saying, like we're going to have to just call it what it is, just so that way I make sure we're speaking about the same things if that makes sense. >> Yes, sir. >> So, you're saying they're licking other areas, like can you >> Private areas. Genital areas. >> Okay. And those private areas, like what are they used for? Like >> Like the crotch and the backside. >> Okay. So, like in those areas. >> Okay. So, like >> and butt. >> Yeah. >> and butt. Okay. >> And I'm thinking they're they're just a dog. >> Okay. >> And a dog's going to sniff around and maybe lick. But, I'm not saying like to care enough, but I've got special needs. And sometimes a lot of people like us think it's it's either not okay or okay. >> Okay. >> And I'm thinking it's not wrong. It's just a dog sniffing or licking areas. But, the dog that was with working Eric was licking this. And but, to me was like that kind of felt good, but in that same time it's just a dog sniffing and licking areas. >> Okay. >> A dog is when can sniff and lick and smell. Cuz I'm thinking what if what if she's checking me if I'm sick? What if she's checking me if I not have or what if she's checking me if I don't have if I have cancers? >> Okay. So, when you're you're saying like it felt good and like I mean it sounds like you have a fiance. Like have you ever had >> I've had >> Okay. With the dogs doing that like when you're saying it feels good like is is it that same kind of feeling? >> Kind of, yes. >> Okay. And in your mind you >> In my head I didn't think it was that bad of a thing. >> Okay. >> I just I just thought it was a dog being a dog. >> Okay. >> Because they're licking and sniffing. >> Okay. But because the dog licking and sniffing like you like what it was doing to you you understand that like I guess the feeling I'm trying to make sure that I'm understanding what you're saying is that it felt good but it was like sexual arousal arousal like when you're having with your fiance. >> Yes, sir. >> Um how many times did that happen? Like was this one or more times? >> It was like one or two times. >> Like this past year or like how long ago was that? >> Precisely, I don't know how long but it wasn't recent. It was a while back. >> And you said that when you were using the social media platform um you were talking to this girl >> girl girl >> Yeah, but at the time you believed it was a girl. >> I thought it was just a girl talking to me. Sure enough it's two guys. >> Okay. But you said that that this girl at some point after you told her you were 26 you said that you were 11 and you proceed to have a conversation. Some point the conversation that we just had about your dogs gets gets brought up. Okay. Did you send photos, videos or was this all just messages? >> Um I had sent a couple photos. >> Okay. >> And it was a dog Well, the dog that was doing it. >> Okay. And when you say doing it, like >> I know it's licking. Licking the >> Okay. >> But it was the pictures and then I had two pictures of my butt. >> Just so I make sure I understand because you're saying with the dogs like you understand like like sexually aroused when they were like licking your your butt. >> Um >> So you know that. >> Yes. >> In your head you said that like there were other reasons why in your mind it was justified because they could have been checking if you were sick or you just said it's dog being a dog. Um what was the point of recording or taking pictures? Just so that way I don't misunderstand that. >> I was thinking just wanted to see on how she was looking in that specific spot or watching her to see if she would you know react differently. >> Okay. >> But or like I said quarter. You got cancer or you got the flu or >> Okay, so that's why you took the videos. Okay, or pictures. >> And pictures to see if like if like I don't like that smell or I don't like that taste or >> Okay. >> I was just thinking maybe the dog can sense if I'm not feeling good through spots my genitals. >> Okay. How many times have you sent these >> perverted about it. >> Okay. >> Not necessarily perverted about it. >> Okay, so you're saying that you wanted to take these photos and videos of your dog licking your because you wanted to make sure the dog didn't react adversely and that way you'd be able to figure out if you may have been sick or something. >> Yes. >> How many times have you sent these pictures and videos of your dog licking your penis to other people? >> Not very many. It was only a couple times like if they asked to like if they asked see it, I said, "Okay." >> And these people that are asking you, is this on the same social media app that you met these three gentlemen? >> Yes. >> So, people on that app would basically ask, like in what way? Like what way are they asking? >> Like, "Oh, would you What stuff do you do with your dog?" >> Okay. >> And to me, I thought like they were hoaxing me. Like trying to pull me into a a trap. Like they were trying to grab my hand and pull me through a trap. Like trying to trick I thought like I was like tricked. >> Okay. Just curious now. >> "Can I see?" Or stuff like that. >> And so, when they would ask you, you just show them. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Thinking that this girl >> You're having this conversation with this you believe is a girl. She says she's 11. You acknowledge that she's 11. Um when does the conversation kind of start to get kind of like >> "Do I have to Would it Would it be okay if I showed you?" Um or do you want just from that >> Just from what you remember. Like how would like one from like a "Hey, how are you? I'm 26. I'm 11." and then all of a sudden we're talking like "Hey, like let's have sex." kind of stuff. Like how how did that happen? >> Well, it was like no the typical guy behavior and how we start to feel like "Hey, I have kind of an erection." It's like and then all of a sudden it's now talking about now like my username was about uh toes in the butt. >> Okay. >> And it was like "Oh, yeah. Well, I want you to do it to me." and stuff like that. Thinking it's an older girl. I I honestly thought it was an older girl. >> Okay. >> To me, it was a "I'm looking for little girls. I'm looking Not like "Oh, I'm looking for for young teenagers." or any young kids. I thought I was talking to an older girl. >> Okay. Are you saying like what what made you think now that it was an older female? Like if at the beginning of the conversation there was age brought up. >> I was looking you get to the side age of what girls you want to find and what what you're looking for and as of the age was like 23. I thought she was 23. >> Okay. But even though she said that she was 11? >> Yeah. I was like I'm going to say She's 11. I didn't know. I wasn't purposely looking for 11-year-old girls. I didn't know that she was 11. >> Um one of the things that got mentioned is that you used to view child pornography on Telegram. What what's that about? >> It wasn't me looking up. Somebody had sent it to me. >> Okay, on Telegram? >> On Telegram and I instantly we reported their profile and I blocked him and I said don't ever send that to me again or I'll send a report to the police. It wasn't me who did it. It wasn't me who sent kiddie >> Okay, it was somebody sending it to you. Okay. What happened the stuff that was sent to you what happened to it? >> I blocked the person and I reported them. >> Okay. >> And before I reported I threatened if you don't stop I'm sending you to the police. >> Okay. So you're saying that like you don't have any of that child >> No, I don't have any of the child on my phone. >> Okay. When did when did you do you recall when you messaged this account? Like did these conversations start last month or have they been going on for a little bit? >> Going on for a little bit. >> Okay. But today was the day you guys kind of introduced each other like ages were thrown in there you guys kind of were like okay because you liked having [snorts] the communication with somebody. Today was the day that you guys were going to meet. Was that just to meet or was that all like desire to have like intimacy with somebody? >> It was to me, it was like I'm going to go meet and to be a mature young man and meet somebody at my gate, but that happened. >> Okay. >> I thought it was just her, but it was you guys. >> Okay. Were you expecting it to be an 11-year-old girl? >> I I wasn't expecting. I thought it would be like maybe like a parent with her or something like that that I can talk to the parent and describe about everything and then meet up to be mature about it. >> You you understand like based on the conversation that you had with this girl on the social media app when they agreed or when she said she was going to come meet you today, you were expecting a little girl with their parents. >> Yes, sir. >> And then obviously that didn't happen. I I didn't really go into all the stuff that Lieutenant Ballard spoke with you back about, but you agreed to go with these guys and we're here now. >> Um and they kept harassing me. >> In what way? >> Mean and vulgar and taunting and they wouldn't put the camera down. Made me uncomfortable. Made me feel threatened. Every little question and it was like they were trying to trick me and making it seem like I'm doing everything wrong. I'm not a bad person. >> Like my job is to just figure out what's going on and kind of just work from there. So, I'm not saying you're a bad person like things happen. >> I don't want to go to jail. I'm scared. >> I I can't promise that right now. This is something I'm going to have to talk with the District Attorney's Office like Ballard said. Like I can't lie to you like this is really kind of a first kind of deal like how this came to be, but typically people go to jail for these kind of cases. One of the things they mentioned was about a relationship or an incident I shouldn't say a relationship an incident that happened with your niece. >> There's an important relationship correction here. The girl being discussed as Brian's niece is described by Brian as his sister-in-law's niece. So the civilian group says Brian admitted inappropriate contact during their earlier confrontation. Brian now denies that allegation and it is not identified in the later prosecution update as the offense for which he was convicted. >> What what what was that about? Like I don't I mean you've been honest to me to this point like I don't know why you would lie about anything like that. Like it sounds like I mean what they're claiming is that you told them a story about it and I'm just asking to just try to figure out what that's about. Like if there's any truth to that. Like so what happened with your niece? >> They were asking about who's your niece and nephew and at first I'm like I'm telling you my niece and nephew's name. You're making me uncomfortable. I'm your uncle. And he was asking now does she ever sit on your lap or or now did you ever have pictures of of your nephew or or anything like that? And I said no no only like hugging like or or if I'm laying down or something like that. And no no I'm not doing anything to her or anything like that. And then he kept asking and asking like what if he kissed you or she would now what if she waved to you so much that it's like she tries to touch or something like that. And I said no like no I didn't ever touch her. No she didn't ever touch me and I wouldn't let her touch me. I'm her uncle. And if she ever tried to no. And he kept going on and on and he said that no no I think you're lying about something and I think you're trying to hide something. And I said no I said I'm not hiding anything from you. I'm being dead honest with you. And to me it what he was putting words in my mouth that were not true. >> Okay. >> I would not touch my niece like that. That's my niece. >> And like I said, I mean you've been telling me everything that's been kind of going on like I mean you're not really disputing like the conversation with what you thought was a girl. You're not disputing what happened with your dogs. Not disputing that you've had child they sent to you through Telegram. So I mean I have really no reason to think you're lying, but one of the things they had mentioned is that your niece from Albuquerque. >> That's not my niece. >> Okay, who's your >> That's my sister-in-law's niece. >> Your sister-in-law's niece. >> That's not my niece. >> Okay. What they said is that you admitted to them that she basically gave you a hand up like Cuz they were >> She didn't. She did not touch me. He put words in my mouth that were not true, but uh >> Okay. Okay, so you're saying that that did not happen. >> Didn't happen at all. I had told Nick, my brother, and I he goes, "You better not be touching her." I said, "I'm not. I'm not touching her. I would never touch her. That would be evil. It'd be sick, disgusting." >> Okay. You kind of felt pressured. So what you're saying is like I I haven't seen the video. Like I'm going to be honest with you. They just They they that's what they said. It's like I'll see the video later once I can get the video from them. But what you're saying is that if you did make a comment saying that you did do something that I just asked you about, you're saying it's because they put words in your mouth and made you say it. >> They like forced me to say it. >> Okay. >> I didn't do it. I would not do it. >> Okay. >> I swear to God I would not do that. I'm not in my right mind. I'm not a I'm not a >> Okay. Yeah, I want to make sure what I see in the video like cuz I mean they have video. I just want to hear what you have to say about that. It sounds like you said that you kind of got pressured into saying some things. I mean, that's a little bit of a drive from here from where you're at. Like if you're from area. So I mean that's a long drive so I can understand >> being under They turned on the camera as soon as they get in there and they interrogate me and made me feel uncomfortable. Uncomfortable, scared, forced, like made to. >> But at the end of the day, they did tell you that you didn't have to go with them and you chose to. I mean all All this is going to get documented regardless, but I mean that's kind of where we're at with that problem. Is that >> But that felt like a blackmail to me because oh, if you don't come with us, we can talk to your family about it, which I felt blackmailed. >> Okay. Is there anything that you want to tell me? Like I mean because now now's the time to do it. If I'm missing anything, now's your time to kind of just complain about it because the more cooperation you have, the easier for the DA's office to sit there and ask for things or or a defense attorney to ask for things. cooperate. What is going to happen, your phone, it's going to be seized. I'm going to take this. We're going to get a search warrant for it. Do you have a password on this phone? >> No, I don't. >> Okay, it's not password protected or anything like that? >> No. [clears throat] >> Okay. Am I going to find anything on this phone other than the videos and pictures of you with your dogs? >> No. >> No child or anything like that? Okay. >> I should have deleted it all. Deleted it all. What do you mean? Just deleted the whole app and say goodbye to everything. Both of them. I should not have done this. >> I mean there's social media platforms and there's these people that are on there that kind of do those things. I mean like I said, I'm going to speak with the DA and kind of figure out with what we have right now and then I'll let you know. The phone is going to go with us before Once we figure out what exactly is going on, whether you're going to jail or not. >> My family is going to hate me. >> I don't think they will. >> myself. I'm going to get taunted by my whole life I know they're going to call me a bad word. >> Right now you can't you're you're jumping way ahead but we just got to figure out what's going on today and then just go from there. For electronics and stuff like that you obviously have the one phone do you have any computers or anything like that? >> No computers. >> Okay, tablets? >> No, I don't have any tablets in >> What about other what do you mean anymore like are they old ones or >> I just don't have tablets anymore. >> Okay, is this your parents house or is this your own home? >> This is well my mom's but my mom's living with my grandma right now because they're partners. >> Okay, so your mom's living with your grandma so you're just living at this house with your fiance? >> Yes and then my uncle's living there too but he's disabled. >> He's disabled okay. >> My mom's going to kill me too. >> Let me go make sure we have a a deputy that's going to give you a ride back to where you're residing. >> The interview ends without Brian Christopher being taken directly to jail. Detectives arranged to have him transported home but that was not the end of the case. The investigation ultimately went before New Mexico's 7th Judicial District Court where Brian Christopher was convicted of bestiality a fourth degree felony under state law. On February 17th 2026 Christopher then 27 years old appeared before judge Shannon Murdoch off and was sentenced to 18 months of supervised probation. >> For context 18 months is also the basic prison term New Mexico sets for an ordinary fourth degree felony. Christopher however was sentenced to serve that period under supervision rather than in prison. Under New Mexico's animals use act animals under a convicted person's direct care and control must be removed and not returned to them. The law also prohibits that person from owning possessing residing with or exercising control over an animal for a period set by the court between 3 and 15 years. Prosecution update does not specify exactly how long Christopher's restriction was set for, [music] so we're not going to invent one. But there's one distinction that remains important. The conviction we can verify from a later court record is bestiality. The other allegations discussed throughout this interview should not be presented as convictions simply because investigators questioned him about them. What happened to this relationship with his fiance, his mother, or the rest of the family afterwards not really established in the public record available for this case. In the end, detectives had to separate what was alleged during a civilian confrontation from what their own investigation could actually establish. So, where should that line be drawn? When civilian predator groups uncover potential evidence but operate outside normal policy procedure, how much weight should investigators give what happens before law enforcement ever becomes involved? Tell me what you think down below. Subscribe for the part of these stories the footage never shows. We'll be here with the next one.
