Man, when I'm in the ER the whole time, she's blowing me up talking about the police going to come get you. You just hit me with a van. >> We're investigating a disturbance. >> Yeah. >> If you can't allow us to investigate, I'm going to stick you in the back of a cop car. You're inside, you're going to get arrested. Go down here on the sidewalk. >> Why are you hurting me? Oh my god. I didn't touch you. I didn't WANT TO AGGRESS TO YOU. IF I COME UP TO YOU, take me to jail. Get this mother out of my house. Do you understand WHAT I'M SAYING? >> BRO, HEY, HEY, COME ON. >> PLAYING THE VICTIM'S A gamble because it rarely works, especially when savvy cops recognize the deceit. Their entire charade falls apart when these fake victims realize the cops see right through their act. >> How can you sit here with a straight face deny that? >> I'm done. I'm tired. I'm I'm so tired of being harassed. >> Just put the notes. You're yelling through your door at her. You're doing more stuff, more garbage like this. How old are you? >> When an officer knocked on the door of apartment 4A in a residential building in Illinois, he was responding to reports of stolen decorations. What he didn't expect was to get in the middle of a neighborly feud that had been happening for weeks. >> Hello. How are you? >> All right. >> Can I talk to you for a couple minutes again? >> [snorts] >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you want to talk inside or you want to talk right here? >> Who? I don't know what this is about. >> Do you have any idea why we'd be here talking to you? >> No. >> Okay. Here, I'll sit here so you have some privacy here. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So >> Get out of my house. Come on. >> Do you know anything about these notes that were left on earlier to the door of your neighbor? >> No. >> Those were left there within the last hour along with another item stolen from her doorway. Okay? So that's why I'm here. Obviously, it's got your name on it and everything like that. So >> Of course, it does. Thank you. You are harassing me. >> So, this isn't exactly harassment of you. This is if this is going on with her and this is Here's the thing that the video is going to show me. I'm going to have Amanda come out and look at the video. And if it's you, then I'm just going to be honest with you as far as the the stealing of that decoration. So, you're going to face theft charges, okay? I'm not trying to comment on what decoration. >> Huh? >> What decoration? >> There's a heart heart-shaped decoration that was stolen from her door today, just now. >> According to the woman, the feud had been going on for weeks, and though the evidence said otherwise, she said she was the one being harassed. She did admit that she knew about the decorations, but said there were several years old. Before looking at the video footage, the officer gave her a chance to come clean. >> Okay. Well, this one she said she it got put up Sunday after the previous one was stolen. Cuz there was some stolen the other day when we were here. Do you remember that? >> I remember people coming to my door and accusing me. >> Yeah, we were here. I was I was here with the other officer. We weren't accusing you of anything besides just, you know, you causing a scene. >> Well, the Not only that, but I reported my property manager like a week and a half before and she said that I did what I did She taken off my door. >> Okay. >> She taken off the door in other hallway, two doors in the other hallway. We have had a vandalism of decorations. >> But, I'm sure you can understand why you would be a suspect in this. >> Oh, of course. Of course, because she's the one She is the one that did the whole DCFS thing on me. >> Mhm. I know. I know. So, these are these are here. Do you mind if I look at that little pen you got over there? >> The what? >> The you have a little pen over there. Looks like it's like a multi-colored pen. >> Okay. >> Is that okay? >> The cop decided to do a little bit of detective work and compare the writing on the note with the pen that he noticed on the counter. The color purple was a perfect match, but according to the suspect, that didn't prove a thing. >> Okay. And do you want to go through the entire apartment building and see who has pens that write in different colors? >> saying. >> I'm not the only person that has a pen that writes in different colors. >> So, you're the prime person. You're the one that >> Of course I am. She's been harassing me since last week. >> on the counter. The purple one selected and >> pen. My kid gave me that. >> Okay. Okay. I'm going to look at the video. It's going to tell me yes or no. I give people the option to tell me >> you can look at the video? >> 100%. I'm going to look at the video. >> So, when my door got vandalized like 2 weeks ago and I asked the property manager and she said that we can't do anything about it, now all of a sudden everybody can do something about it? >> Yeah, hey, listen. Here's another thing. >> What? >> Let me show you something here. That looks That looks kind of like it fits, doesn't it? How about that? >> Oh. Oh, my my my thing that Really? >> That's 100% from that notepad. What are you talking about? How How can you sit here with a straight face deny that? >> The pen being evidence might have been a bit of a stretch, but along with the notepad, it left no room for doubt. When the officer asked the woman why she was harassing her neighbor, she spun around the story saying she was the one being harassed because the neighbor had called DCFS for no reason. >> That's harassment because the DCFS report was unfounded. >> Okay. Okay. I understand I understand that you're upset. I would be upset, too, cuz I'm a parent and if somebody calls you >> that. Whatever she has written on her [ __ ] door. >> I get that. >> I just put the notes. >> I get that. >> I'm done. I'm tired. I'm I'm so tired of being harassed. >> just put the notes. I'm telling you right now I'm going to look at that video. If you're on video with that harp, [music] taking that harp, you're going to get arrested. I'm trying to save you the after >> How? >> I'm trying to save you by you you just telling me right now. Okay? Have be honest here. You're you're here in front of me. >> How am I going to get arrested? >> It's theft. You cannot >> It's not. It's You wouldn't know how it's not. >> I'll explain it. Yeah, pull your >> Oh, yeah. I will explain that because a week ago when she tore her stuff off my door and she vandalized my door when I called housing and I reported it to housing, you know what housing told me? There's nothing we can do about it. >> Did you buy it? >> Despite what she might have believed, if you steal something, it's still a crime, even if it's done in retaliation for a supposed offense done to you. If the neighbor vandalized her door, the proper response would be to call the police and not to steal the woman's decorations. >> Are you kidding me? You're telling me you left these notes, but you're not the one So, somebody else is the one who >> I left those notes. She has been harassing me since last Monday. >> You cannot go around leaving stuff on people's doors like this. >> On Friday, I didn't do anything anything to her. >> Okay. >> Last Saturday, Friday, Saturday >> But you were you I mean, I was here. You were yelling at her. I saw the video. You were yelling through your door at her. You were doing more stuff, more garbage like this. How old are you? >> How was I yelling at her through my door at her if I'm standing at my door and songing something about That is Do you guys not understand or realize that's why she is so [ __ ] mad? >> I watched the video of her you screaming [music] and yelling at specifically saying her name. >> Yeah. >> Okay, calling her a junkie, which is exactly what she what she was doing. Okay, that's fine. >> She was so convinced she was the victim that no amount of talking could persuade her that she'd done something wrong. But if the cop could prove somehow that she had stolen her neighbor's decorations, it could be an open-and-shut case. >> I want to ask you an honest question and I want an honest answer here. Where is the heart decoration right now? >> [music] >> Where is it? >> What heart? >> The one you stole from her door. >> I didn't. >> Do you mind if I look inside real quick? >> Okay. >> Is it okay? Do you have it? >> No. Turn it off. Just do me a >> Call Katie right now. Call Katie right now. >> Can I call my mom to come get me, kid? >> Yep. You do that right now. You're under arrest. Call right now. Call right now. You're not >> No. I'm going to call my mom. >> Listen. So, here's the deal. You're going to go You're going to go with me. You're going to get charged with theft and you're going to get brought back here. >> Do we go in jail, [ __ ] I'm going >> going to go to jail. You're not going to go to jail. You're not going to go to jail. You're not going to go to >> Yes, I am. Cuz how are you going to do anything with me if you don't take me to the police >> No. I mean, you have to appreciate it, but that's not jail. You're not going to spend the night in jail, okay? You're going to go with me for a short time. You're going to walk out of there with a ticket for 40. Unless you make this worse than it is right now. You can't steal her stuff and you can't write her a ticket for anything. >> steal mine. >> She You know what? >> She did. Like 3 nights ago. She told the cops on me and said I was in the last person's door. >> Call right now. I'm done having this conversation with you. >> The officer allowed the woman to call her mother. As they waited for someone to pick her daughter up, he also let her have a smoke. But, after a while, he decided to not waste any more time with her and just take her to jail. >> Okay. Do you want to put that cigarette out? Do you want to come? >> I'm not doing anything until my mom and dad get here. >> Do you want to come? You don't have a choice. You don't have a choice. >> Where is she going to [ __ ] go? I'm going to >> right here. You don't have a choice. She's going to stay here with this officer until >> No. No. Because you're going to let that stupid [ __ ] across the hall into my apartment. >> Get up. Get up. Get up. We're not going to use this. >> What did I do? >> You're under arrest for theft. I'm telling you that right now. >> What did >> steal? >> The purse sitting on the counter. >> Okay. >> [music] >> So, that is not >> Say no. Say no. Put your hands behind your back. >> Okay. All right. Let's do it. >> Uh hang on one second. What's your dad's name again? >> Dan. >> Dan? >> You have no control. >> I have to control you. >> No, you don't. I don't need to be controlled. I can walk by myself. Goodbye. Goodbye. Everybody in this building can prove that Becca is my god damn friend. Hey, you the aunt? >> You know, give me a >> There's So, there's another officer >> Please, Ryan. Becca has never been my Tom. And I don't get a coat. >> Is this somebody that's with you? >> And I don't get a coat. >> You're going in a warm car. You need to stop. >> The woman in the lobby was the suspect's sister, who was there to pick her child up. She was hinting to the cop that the suspect might have a drinking problem, which would explain a lot. She was taken to jail, where potentially she faced theft charges, as well as harassment charges. On the 24th of February, 2024, the cops responded to a disturbance between roommates at a shared Airbnb. When the officers got there, the landlord was waiting for them in the driveway. However, before he barely managed to say a word, a woman walked out the door to interrupt them, and she said that she was the victim. >> Today, I was here visiting inspectors. The car was >> I'm moving on up. here. This is the landlord. >> Hold on a second, okay? I'm listening to him. >> I'm not listening. >> This story is different. I'm the one that's been here. I called the police down here before. >> I got that. >> I'm American. I know my rights. >> I don't care if you're American. He's Russian. >> Okay, well, Russians have different culture than us, okay? Cuz I've spoken to his wife. Apparently >> going to let him tell me his side, and then I'll listen to your side. >> doesn't matter. is my case. >> yeah, >> got to calm down. cops. >> No, I'm pissed. I booked this place for the year AND NOW I HAVE TO move because of this guy. SO, I'M GONE IN 2 DAYS. >> YOU DON'T know that for sure, okay? You don't know that for sure that you have to move in 2 days. >> I'm I already got a place. >> OKAY. >> THAT'S WHY HE DID THIS BECAUSE HE HAD HIS ONE LAST CHANCE. >> OKAY. >> NO, I'M NOT calling >> Are you a roommate or friend or I mean, can you calm her down? >> I'm >> Yeah. >> So, we split up. I have another house and uh >> He doesn't know the story. >> And and this lady this lady will move to another house. >> I won't give a [ __ ] >> You should give a >> I told him >> He assaulted me. He's going to get I'm pressing charges. I told him that. >> I saw they started talking. She was started it. >> Yeah, I started it right in front of him because now >> I can't hear him because you're screaming. Please shut up. >> As far as this woman went, she was unable to stay quiet for even a minute. Luckily, Officer Kirk soon arrived and he took charge of things. But, instead of calming down a bit because she finally got someone's attention, the woman, Maria, did exactly the opposite. >> I know I'm going to press charges and I know my rights. >> Okay, you're good. I'm Officer Kirk. >> Thank you. I'm I was instructed to be quiet. >> Okay, so why don't you why don't you talk to me? >> No, I'm going to be quiet. >> Talk to him now. I can only talk to one person at a time. That's why I asked you not to talk while we were trying to talk. So, this is what's going to happen. We're investigating a disturbance. >> Yeah. >> If you can't allow us to investigate it, I'm going to stick you in the back of a cop car. >> No, I'm just I was told that I was >> So, while he's talking, listen to him. All [music] right, yep, you're detained. >> Sir, >> Go inside, you're going to get arrested. Go down here on the sidewalk. >> Why are you hurting me? >> You're under arrest. >> Sir, I got assaulted. Okay, by a man. >> I didn't have time to even get to that point. >> Please stop. Why is he doing >> You're under arrest. I'm arresting you for resisting. You're not listening to me. >> I'm not resisting. >> Okay, I'm going to dump your ass. >> Can I talk to you? >> We're going to go face down in the dirt here in a second. Put your Put your hands behind your back. >> Okay, I My My are behind I have >> Stop resisting. >> It's my first disturbance before, okay? And I called you guys because I wanted you to be aware of what was going on. >> Okay. >> So, today escalated. [music] I'm gone in 2 days. >> How did this guy assault you? >> Well, not him, honey. >> [music] >> Okay. >> The guy in the house. Are you serious? You don't know what's happening? >> I didn't because I had half the story from him and you were screaming over him. >> in a moment. >> No, you're not leaving now. >> Let's do it till we can talk to him. Why am I being detained? >> You're under arrest. >> Why? >> Obstruction. >> Then it came time to question Maria. She explained that she shared the Airbnb with several roommates. However, she kept getting into arguments with one of them, and when he got abusive with her, both verbally and physically, she decided to move out. Luckily, her Russian landlord owned several properties and let her move into another house nearby. >> So, when this guy started being physically and verbally abusive, I booked the other place. So, I'm moving in 2 days. All of a sudden, the guy that Russian guy is doing a walk-through, and I came out and I told him I said, "This is You're the reason why I'm moving." And then he got up in my face. I don't care to press charges cuz I'm moving in 2 days. I knew this was going to happen. That's why I called the police recently. >> So, who is the guy that assaulted you? NOT THE LANDLORD? >> NO. NO. He's very nice. He's just doing a walk-through. >> So, who's the guy that assaulted you? >> The black guy. >> So, your roommate, your boyfriend, your husband? >> I've never met him besides here. I only know him I I just talk loud. I promise. You guys think that cuz I've worked in music venues, I have hearing issues. >> So, is there an issue today with Did something get physical between anybody? Cuz she's saying that it was physical. >> No, but unless she want to create >> So, is there videos or anything of any of this? >> There's like >> There was a video. >> We have three three witnesses. >> Am I being arrested? >> Yes. >> Why? >> For obstruction. >> What does that mean? >> It means when you're told to do something and you don't do it, you get arrested. >> Well, can you release me? >> No. >> I have to go to work in a little bit. >> Well, you won't be going to work today. >> How do I do this? What do you mean? >> Well, you'll be going to jail. >> I'm going to jail? >> to post bond. Yes, ma'am. You're under arrest. That's what that means. That's what that means. >> When asked about the assault itself, she said that during arguments, the roommate had a habit of pointing a finger in her face. According to Maria, that morning, the man's finger made contact with her face. That was the reason she felt like she had to call the cops. >> That's why I called the cops is because he has to know that he can't do things like that. >> So, this is pretty normal? >> Again, this is not >> Four? >> They got into an argument and the cops were called. I came in here to kind of mediate things. And then I was they started arguing about the laundry. Nothing really started until he started getting in his face. So, I was like, "Calm down. Let's calm down." And then she wanted to call the police. And I was like, "You don't really need to do that." And then she hung up. And then suddenly now he hung up. Now the cops are there. He cuz he hung up on the operator. >> He's very mean. And he's the reason why I'm moving. I want to be friends with I'm friends with the other people that live in the house cuz I'm cool. I'm like a hippie teacher. >> How many people live in the house? >> Four. Yeah. >> And everybody has their own room? >> Yes. It's a weird situation, but I it was affordable. And I have a fenced-in yard for my dog. That's why I can't be going to jail, honey. I have animals. >> Do you live here also? Okay. >> I can ask about the dog, but what we can do >> I want to see where we're at with all this. So, apparently there's a lot of people living here. >> There's like an awesome Airbnb with five bedrooms. It's got you guys to you. It's got a few people. >> Um she just kept getting in his face. And she ran into his finger or something like that. >> Sir, you can just leave it on the ground. Yeah, you can just leave it I'll I'll collect that. >> As strange as it might sound, technically, pointing a finger in someone's face can be considered assault, depending on just how it happened. The contact might have been accidental and not intentional. At that point, the cop tried to see just who else was involved. >> He pulled his arm like this. >> What? >> And he got really close and it and it hit me in the in the face. Right by where I have my scar on my face. And maybe it did trigger a little PTSD. From the last time that a man hit me. He can't do that. It's not right. I know my rights. And and I called you guys because I want to be protected. I want I want to feel protected by >> And the landlord didn't witness it? Did the landlord witness it? What about the other person there, the guy with the glasses in the >> Oh, that guy. >> The shower cap? >> He's really cool. His name's Damani and he's like, you know, he's been one of the people that >> Did he witness it? >> No, he wasn't in the kitchen. >> Just the landlord? >> So, I don't want to press charges. I'll go get a hotel room right now. I have to get out of here. I I have so much riding on my new life. Please please pull some strings for me. Please. I will go get a room right now. I swear to God. >> Did you witness this incident in the kitchen between you and the other person? >> it. Like I said to the other officer, this has happened before. The cops came out and I get the cops to I believe it was like three officers that came out. Um >> Did he strike her in the face at all? >> Uh it was me. >> No, no, one way and another >> It was another guy uh that was watching. But I guess he left somewhere. But he No one No one hit anybody. Uh he had his hand out like this and she kind of like ran into his hand. >> Okay. >> I don't know how she did that, but she walked into his hand and I was like, "Let's calm down." >> Based on the roommate's statement, the contact with Maria wasn't purely accidental. With so many strangers living under the very same roof, at some point the tension was bound to escalate. And supposedly, the next door neighbor knew all about it. >> This has been tensions brewing for quite some time. And that's why she's been looking to get out. >> That's the nature of the beast. >> Yeah, yeah. Like you said, when you got five people in there. >> Uh it's horrible. It's like going back to college. >> guys are just roommates? >> No, dating? >> No. >> Husband wife? Kids in common? Nothing like that? >> No, no, nothing. >> Y'all just share this house as separate separate rooms. >> Everybody have a separate each room and you know separate as bases. >> How long have y'all been staying here together? >> I'm not sure. >> You're trying to run away from police. >> upset. It was scary because this man hurt me and now he's getting away with it. And I don't know >> to us earlier said that that didn't happen. No one hit anyone. >> Okay, well he did put his finger in my face and he hit me in the face with that. >> Unfortunately, you don't have any injuries that I can see and no one else is saying that that happened. >> Okay, the the the Damani Can I Can you bring him over so I can talk to Can you tell him that take care of the dog. >> After carefully investigating the matter, they decided to not charge Maria with misuse of 911. But unfortunately, that didn't change the fact that she didn't cooperate with police. They arrested the woman and she was taken off to jail where she was charged with obstruction. On May 21st, 2025 in Farmington, the cops got a 911 call reporting domestic violence. The caller was a frantic woman who claimed her boyfriend was physically hurting her. However, by the time the officers got to her, she changed her story and claimed nothing had happened. However, with a call like that, the cops just couldn't walk away. >> There's nothing. There's nothing. I just got upset. There's nothing. >> Okay, see, now the story's changed. Now you're saying I got upset. So what were you upset about? So you called us for a reason. We know you called. Okay, there's >> There's nothing. There's nothing. Okay? There's nothing. >> Okay, so what happened? If it's nothing, then you shouldn't be a big deal to be able to tell us. >> Then there's nothing. Sorry that you're hurt. >> So what happened? Why Why did you call us in the first place? >> Hold on. Can I close the door so I can get my phone and call my mother in law because she's probably seen everything on the camera. And I don't want her to worry. Move Can you move your foot? >> You called us over here. >> Yeah. Just move your foot. I'll call her. I'll be back. >> So go and step out of the house for me. >> Move your foot. >> Step out of the house. Shay, you called Shay. Shay, why are you not wanting to cooperate? We got you on the phone saying that >> Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. >> Hey, listen. You called and said there was a physical fight. >> There's nothing. >> We're going to investigate this. Come outside. >> Don't grab me. I don't like it. I don't like it. I don't like it. I don't like it. Don't grab me. >> Listen, we don't want to use force. We're trying to help you, okay? You called us. We're trying to help you. >> Have a seat. Have a seat. Have a seat. Have a seat. >> No. No. No. No. Let me get my phone. >> Farmington Police Department. Anyone else here? >> The situation here really was bizarre. The woman, Shay, was refusing to answer questions or even let the cops in her house despite the fact that she was the one who'd called them. She was acting very suspicious and whatever was going on here until they got to the bottom of it, the cops weren't going to leave. >> We got to make sure that it's safe in there cuz you called us. >> Nothing. I I I was just lying. I was just lying. >> And now you're getting very upset with us when we're just trying to ask you what's going on. >> I'm I'm because I'm intoxicated. I'm sorry. I'm drinking. I'm drinking alcohol and I was just lying. I'm sorry. >> Lying about what? >> Nobody was abusing me or anything. >> So who else is here with you? >> Farmington Police. Anyone else inside? >> Your boyfriend? >> I've been with him for like 10 years or so. >> Okay, what's your boyfriend's name? >> Tyen. >> Tyen. >> Get Get I'll I'll get him for you. I promise. >> No. [music] What room is he in? >> Huh? >> What room is he in? >> He's in the bedroom. >> Farmington Police. Tyen, come down here and talk to us. >> No. No. No. Stop. You're freaking me out. He's He's the the one straight up from the stairs. >> Come out of your room. >> Um >> I'm not under the influence. >> I'm >> [music] >> I'm I'm I'm I I'm drinking alcohol. >> Okay, that's fine. >> It's fine. Huh? No, he doesn't have any weapons. He's harmless. He's He's >> Ma'am, this is the police. This is your last chance. Come down. >> Tavion, come down, please. >> Just go ahead and have a seat. >> Okay. >> Come and have a seat. >> Come down here now. >> I Just have a seat. Here, come over here and talk to me. >> Tavion, call your mom. >> Come over here and talk with me. >> Okay. >> We're investigating domestic disturbance. >> No, no, no, no. Oh, oh. >> For someone who claimed nothing had happened, she seemed very concerned about what her boyfriend, Tavion, would tell the police. As for the cops that were still questioning her, they decided to put more pressure on her by reading her Miranda rights. >> Can I call my mother-in-law? >> We're going to figure out. You're on the phone screaming for help and saying that you're getting beat up. That's why we're here. >> I wasn't [snorts] I wasn't >> We're trying to figure out what's going on. And now we're going to, whether you like to or not. Okay, so I'm going to read you something right now. I need you to pay attention and listen to me, okay? >> hear the Miranda rights. >> You have the right to remain silent. >> No, no, no, I I'm not listening to you. >> be used against you in court. You have the right to talk to a lawyer before we ask you any questions. You have the right to have a lawyer with you during questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed for you. If you decide to answer questions now without a lawyer present, you still have the right to stop answering at any time. >> I I need to call my mother-in-law. You know, I >> Do you Do you understand the rights that I've read to you? >> The Miranda rights, yes, I understand. >> You're a grown woman. You don't need to call another person to discuss your issues right now. >> I know, but it's it's >> we're not calling anyone. You're going to talk to us about what's going on. We're just going to try to ask you some questions. You said you understood. We're trying to figure out. People don't call dispatch screaming for help and saying you're getting beat up for no reason. And then you're acting like this, and you're trying to pull away from us. Technically, he could take you to jail right now, but I I don't want to because I think you're the victim, and that's okay. >> Well, if he's going want me to jail, go ahead. >> I'm not >> I don't want to take you to >> her to tell the truth, she explained she accidentally called 911. Apparently, she was just trying to threaten her boyfriend by pretending to call the cops, and she dialed the number by mistake. After the dispatcher answered, it was too late to turn back. >> I was just threatening him. I didn't know my phone was going to you know, call 911 all the way. I was [laughter] trying to hang up, but then I don't know, just the lady answered already fast enough. There's nothing >> [laughter] >> All right, so you called 911. It was verbal. You never put hands on you. You were trying to scare him. >> Yeah, but I didn't know the phone call was going to go through. >> I was asleep. She came back. She was yelling, but that was it. >> Okay. >> And then it was okay, you calm down, calm down. And then I just went back to sleep. And I got up, and I guess she made the call. >> Mhm. >> I was I was out. >> [snorts] >> I was over to sleep. >> Okay. >> But >> So, did anything get physical at all? Did anyone hit anyone else? >> No, just I don't know. I'm just objects thrown. >> The boyfriend's account painted a much clearer picture of things. With objects being thrown, obviously, things went well beyond a verbal argument. But while the man was trying to downplay the whole thing, the officer quickly noticed something else. >> What was thrown? >> Just the phone. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Who threw the phone? >> Uh she did. >> Did she throw it at you? >> No. No. >> No. >> She just threw it on the bed. But that's basically it. Like nothing new. Hitting, kicking, or anything. >> Okay. So, you've got some fresh marks on you right there. >> Yeah. But I would >> Where did those come from? >> These Yeah, from her, but that wasn't today. >> When was that? >> That was another time I don't want to talk about. >> Okay, those look really fresh like they just happened. >> No, no, they didn't. Yeah, I was putting Noxzema and the creams on it. >> Okay. Look, man. I've done this before, okay? And I don't think you're being truthful with me. I can see that you have obvious injuries. >> Yeah. >> She's very upset about something. >> Mhm. >> So, somebody's not being truthful here. >> She just >> Just Just give it to me straight, okay? >> She was just angry, but >> What was she angry about? >> I don't know what for, if I'm being honest. I don't I really don't know. >> Adding up the frantic phone call, the visible injuries on the man, and the fact that she didn't want the cops to talk to him, it was clear something bad had happened. But no matter how hard the cops tried to uncover the truth, they both denied there'd been a fight or anything physical. That being said, it made it hard for the cops to decide how to handle things. >> Why did you make a fake phone call then if you're saying it was fake? Like nothing was going on. Why Why Why call 911? >> Like I said, I was I was just, you know, trying to, you know, scare him and upset him, but >> So, you were trying to make him angry? >> No, I wasn't trying to make him >> just said. That was your words. You were trying to scare him and upset him. That's In other words, you're trying >> Yeah, but I wasn't trying to make him angry, you know? I just >> So, my question to you is Listen, we have you on recording with dispatch saying that your boyfriend was punching you. >> Yeah. >> So, why would you say that? >> He wasn't. Look, do you see any bruises? Well, that one on my leg, I fell over at the park with my nephew. Um yeah, I don't have any bruises. Like you guys see my face, there's nothing. If you guys want to take somebody to jail, then fine, take me. Go ahead. >> All right, she's not >> You guys are really taking me to jail for domestic violence. >> Yes, ma'am. >> It's not fair. It's your It's your fault. >> I got it. >> I didn't call your mom. >> Okay. >> 217 >> I don't want to go to jail. I don't want to go to jail. >> [laughter] >> I'll hold her if you want to go get a car for whoever's taking her. >> Okay. >> Caller 217 >> No, I don't want to >> As far as Shay went, she kept whining and crying all the way to jail. She was charged with battery on law enforcement, resisting arrest, and battery on a household member. Maybe in the future, she'll think twice about bluffing calling 911. On the 5th of September, 2025 in Florida, the cops got a report of a stolen custom golf cart. The victim told police that while he was away on a trip to Vegas, the vehicle [music] just vanished from his garage. However, the cops quickly realized that his story didn't make much sense. >> How you doing, Nick? Nice to meet you. Um So, basically, I came out here right here. Um >> Like inside or outside? >> No, inside. Yeah, yeah, definitely inside. Um [music] inside and we came home from a work event in Vegas on When was this? Labor Day? So, Sunday we came home. Um my wife noticed that it was gone, but she figured that was just cuz it's all modded up. She figured that it I was just doing something with it. So, she told me yesterday, "Hey, you know, I haven't seen the golf cart in the garage." And I was like, "Oh, shit." So, I went out here and obviously it's not here. So, >> garage door? >> I don't know. No, but sometimes she does cuz she's a woman. She pulls >> No, she said she said she did it. Um I don't have any cameras or lights or anything like that either. Um but I mean, she's not notorious for it, but I mean, sometimes she does. But it had to If we came back from Vegas, it had to have been we were gone. Labor Day weekend. >> And then what? Did anything else inside of the garage or out in the garage look messy? >> No, literally. No, not at all. But I counted on my >> You can come in. I counted all of them. So, we just got married in Rome about 4 months ago. And we have like I don't even know how many thousands of dollars worth of wedding gifts here. And I counted it. It looks like all my boxes are here, too. >> The story about the theft had a huge mystery. The garage had been shut and nothing else had been touched. With no cameras in place, there was no way to know exactly what had happened. That being said, there was another issue that was even bigger. >> Can you pull this garage down? Can I pull? >> Yeah. Unless he Yeah. >> [music] >> Are you good? You better back up. Can you open this without the garage being open? >> Excuse me? >> Can you open this by hand from the outside? >> So, when I first got into this unit >> And you could? And then I had somebody come and help you out? >> like when the golf cart was gone. >> Oh, like when I came back? Uh no. I usually just hit the button in my car right here and it just opens up. >> that's what you're saying, but like when you left, right? From when you left and when you came back, were you Are you able Is Is somebody able to open it without pressing the button or the clicker? Cuz it doesn't >> Honestly, I'd be lying. I've never tried. >> You want to do it real quick? >> Like try to open it? Yeah, man. I I can't. >> Cuz I'm going to be honest with you, if somebody would steal a golf cart, they would steal all this [ __ ] >> That's >> You got a Yeti cooler, which is expensive. You have a blower. You have all these things here. >> I know. >> There's no signs in the garage that somebody opened it. >> I know. >> And you're parked right there, right? >> No, this car was gone. It was at the airport. >> I'm saying when you left, you were you parked >> No, I took this to the airport, man. >> Yeah, but I'm saying when you got in your car to go to the airport, was your car parked here? >> Yeah, I got in my car to leave. >> When I got in my car to go to to leave? >> Yes. >> Um >> Yeah. >> Yeah, it was it was parked here. >> Cuz I mean, if you're parked right there, you're staring at your garage. If it was open, you notice. >> No, no, no, I know. Yeah, yeah, So, yeah, yeah, definitely. It was I don't think it was open. >> The man here, Nick, explained to the officers that the garage didn't lead to his apartment unit, but to a hallway in the apartment building. What that meant was that any of the tenants could have gained access to the garage. He also claimed that he usually didn't lock that door because it had a faulty latch. >> I usually never lock this, honestly. That's on completely on me, if you know what I And then So, that could have I guess came in >> There's no other place that you could have put your golf cart like maybe >> Oh, no, no, no, it says right here. I have it hooked up literally right here. I have a charger right here and everything. >> No, but I'm saying there's no You didn't drop it off like your wife said to someone to get it hooked up or >> No, no, it was already all set. Everything was done. All modded out. I had it I had had it for months without dropping it off. I haven't needed anything done to it. >> Okay. >> Nothing like >> Uh and then you want to report it stolen? >> What? Yeah, definitely. I mean, it's you can see I always park right here. You can see the tire tracks on my truck. >> All right. Okay. You're 100% sure you didn't drive >> Brother, 1 million >> You know what I'm saying? At work, maybe? >> No, never. >> anybody borrow it? Anybody has access to the garage besides you and your wife? >> Nope. Nope. Just me and my wife. That's it. >> According to what Nick said, he was a million percent sure that he didn't misplace the golf cart, but the cops still had their doubts. So, they then talked to Nick's neighbor to see if he had heard anything. And as things turned out, he would prove to be the key to figuring out the whole mess. >> How you doing? Your neighbor's golf cart got stolen. >> Him? >> Yeah. Did you see him in Did you see him in his golf cart? >> Didn't he put it in our garage? >> Shut up. Your His golf cart's in your garage? >> Didn't he put his his golf cart in my garage? >> Yes. >> Can we go look at the golf >> Yeah. >> When did he put it in your garage? >> When did he put it in yesterday? They put it in yesterday? >> He did it this morning. >> I was >> Whoever Whoever owns that You reported this stolen? >> I mean >> He's actually doing it on purpose. >> Maybe he forgot. I'll give you a minute. We'll check the cameras, okay? Well, that's what he told me. Took the plate off, why? You know? He put it in your alleyway. >> I would have. >> Okay, I was in there. >> The cop decided to give Nick a second chance, hoping he'd tell the truth. And in doing so, the cop could chalk it up as a simple mistake. Deep inside though, the cop had a hunch about it and figured it was probably a scam. The missing license plate and the lack of forced entry supported that claim. >> You swore earlier that you'd tell me the truth about >> Yeah. >> Tell me exactly what happened. The beginning. >> Okay, so we went to Vegas on the 28th, on Thursday. >> Okay. >> And then when we came home from Vegas, which was on Sunday, we went to my dad's 75th birthday party at Hero's. We got home. She says that she knew she noticed it was gone, but figured it was a pain in the butt. >> Okay. >> So, I didn't know anything about it. She came to my work today cuz it was a short week, so Monday. She came to my work today and she said, "Hey, where's the golf cart?" I said, "What do you mean?" And she said, "Well, I noticed when we got home from Vegas that it wasn't there." And I was like, "Well, it shouldn't It should definitely be there." So, then I got home and noticed it was gone and I found you guys. >> You don't remember anything about the golf cart with your neighbors? >> Golf cart with my neighbors? No. >> No. You don't remember putting the golf cart in your neighbor's garage? Taking the plate off? Yeah, should I? >> With each passing second, the man's chance to come clean was slowly fading. If it had happened a week or a month ago, it might have made sense, but unless Nick was suffering from short-term memory loss, he would have remembered moving the golf cart the day before. >> It was yesterday. You You remember what you did back in July or in Vegas. You have to remember what you did yesterday. >> Yeah. Yeah. Oh, [ __ ] Oh, man. >> Listen, you're you're not a you're not a stupid guy. >> I know. >> And And it's not like you didn't remember that you put it in there. It was yesterday. What are you What are you What are you trying to get to here? Are you Are you trying to do some type of insurance? What are you trying to do? >> No, I I mean, I honestly don't even think it's insured without um Dude, honestly, believe it or I mean, obviously, you're not going to believe me, but genuinely, this >> So, why'd you take the plate off the golf cart? >> Well, the plate off the golf cart because it's sitting in my neighbor's garage. >> So, you knew it was >> What's that? >> You knew it was >> Yeah, I >> So, why are you trying to report it stolen if you know it's in your neighbor's >> No, I'm literally just I'm I'm sorry. I'm literally just now like >> He was slowly realizing that he couldn't lie his way out of this, so he decided to tell the truth. And as things turned out, somehow, the truth was way more embarrassing than the lie. As a matter of fact, it made very little sense. >> So, I been having a lot of problems with the golf cart. A lot of them. Um it's just becoming like an an an endless pit. And I wanted it to honestly just be gone. And I didn't know where to put it. I didn't know where to park it. I asked my neighbor if he had space. He said, "Yeah." Um so, I put it there. Um but it's not even like insured. >> Okay. But But what are you Why are you trying to report it stolen? >> I reported it stolen earlier, yeah. >> But, you need me to report it stolen to see? >> I don't know. I'm going to get up. >> You ever been arrested? >> Never in my life. >> Does your girlfriend know anything about this? >> I have my wife. >> Your wife? Does she know anything about this? >> She thinks >> Does she know what the [ __ ] >> No, no. I'm I have I have >> He claimed he wanted a new golf cart, but he was worried about his insurance premium, thinking it might go up. So, instead of selling the old one to get it off of his policy, he reported it stolen. After his plan fell through, he was left with a broken golf cart and charges of perjury and filing a false report. On the 16th of March, 2025, in Aurora, in the state of Illinois, a woman called 911 and asked the cops to remove someone from her house. When the officers got there, they found the woman upstairs holding a baseball bat and threatening her son. It was a tense situation, so the cops tried to calm things down. >> I have a two-month old son cuz I'm a >> Hey, listen. Put that bat down, okay? Can you drop the bat? Can you drop the bat? Hey, listen. Drop the bat. >> I can't hear you. >> I need you to let the bat Put the bat down. Ma'am, drop it. Drop the bat. >> I can't hear you. >> She's crazy. She's crazy. She's crazy. Ma'am, put that bat down. Ma'am, put the bat down. >> Question me? >> She's got the bat? Yeah, okay. Ma'am, hey Leslie, step out here. >> What the [ __ ] though? >> I want you to step Step out here. >> [ __ ] out of my house. >> Okay. All right, cool. Let's talk. >> Well, who are you talking TO? >> OKAY. >> DON'T TELL ME TO DROP the [ __ ] bat in my house. I'll go [ __ ] my best white son. HE'S A MINOR. UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M SAYING? I DIDN'T COME TO YOU. I DIDN'T TOUCH YOU. I DIDN'T WASN'T AGGRESSIVE TO YOU. IF I HIM UP, DO YOU TAKE me to jail? Get this [ __ ] out of my house. Do you understand WHAT I'M SAYING? >> I UNDERSTAND. LISTEN, I'M GOING >> OKAY, SO DON'T TALK TO ME ABOUT WHAT I'M DOING TO MY CHILD. GIVE ME SOME CHILD ABUSE CHARGES. >> OKAY. >> THAT'S MY SON. UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M SAYING TO YOU. SHUT THE [ __ ] UP. >> EVEN though the woman here, Leslie, was the one who called the police, in this situation, she was clearly not the victim. She was incredibly irate and wanted her son out of the house immediately. Naturally, the cops were curious about what had made her so angry and why she felt the need to kick her son out. >> Okay. Leslie, this >> This is my Excuse me. >> Leslie, I just want to talk to you. >> Hey. out so I fight him out in your presence. YOU TAKE ME TO JAIL, BUT DON'T TELL ME WHAT the [ __ ] to do in my house. >> Okay, I can see you don't WANT TO TALK. >> UNDERSTAND. DO NOT DO NOT TELL ME WHAT the [ __ ] to do in my house. >> What's going on with your kids? >> He got to get the [ __ ] out. >> Why? What's going on? >> He don't want to do what the [ __ ] it is. I told him no. >> Okay. >> So, get the [ __ ] him out. Give me my >> Leslie, do you >> Give me my >> I just >> out of my house. You don't have to talk to me right now. Get him out of my house. When you get him out of my house and I can talk to you. >> Leslie, I'm going to respect your wishes. This is your home, okay? But I'm asking you for the well-being of your children. >> He's fine. Is he hurt? He's well-built. He's not mentally >> baseball bat, okay? So, we're going to talk to him there and I want to investigate what's going on. >> What's your name? >> I'm Officer Escutia. Check his injuries real quick, okay? >> He'll be all right. I ain't going to >> The moment the officers pushed back, she began taking pictures of the cops and their badges, which didn't faze them one bit. All the cops cared about was finding out what had happened and whether this was a case of domestic violence. However, Leslie wasn't going to make it easy for them. >> What do you want to talk to me about? >> Okay, I want to talk about what you >> out of my house. [music] >> Okay. All right, what's going on between you and him? >> He needs to get the [ __ ] out of my house. >> Okay, well, what happened? What did he >> do what the [ __ ] you want to do in my You cannot do what the [ __ ] Are you listening to me? >> I'm asking you a question. What started the fight? >> You can't do what the [ __ ] you want to do in my house. You can't smoke no weed. You can't come in when you want to. You can't do what the this I tell you to do and you ain't doing it. You ain't doing it in my house. You real disrespectful. So, I'm going to go to jail. So, I will I and I'll have a cute mugshot. You understand what I'm saying? You know because I'm not going to take care of you going to do what this is you want to do. Get the out of my house. You think you grown, you got to get the out of my house. You understand what I'm saying? >> All right. >> So, he needs to get the away from me. >> All right. >> Leave me [music] my [ __ ] and get the away from me. That's it. >> So, okay. I understand that. >> SO, I CALLED. SO, THAT way I'm going to protect myself and I'm going to protect him because if not, I I'm not have a real cute mugshot. You understand what I'm saying? >> Okay. Well, we can >> He needs to get the And if I don't and if I do, I'll bore him in his life. I I pushed his 8 lbs and 14 out of my I'm saying what I'm saying. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. >> [music] >> He think he grown, he got it together, go and go about your business. But you going to do what you want to do in my house. You understand what I'm saying? So, I need him to leave my house. >> Based on the woman's demeanor and what she was saying to the cops, it seemed like Leslie had a belief that in her house, she had the right to discipline her son anyway she saw fit, even if it was borderline abuse. At that point, the cop wanted to make sure he understood the reason that she wanted him out of the house. >> He's non-compliant. >> He's non-compliant? >> Correct. >> Okay. >> He's disrespectful. >> Okay. >> Correct. >> All right. What did he >> He wants to be physically combative. When I tell him to get your out of my way and you want to >> Okay. Let's >> I'm not I'm not trying I'm just saying. But you want to touch me? >> Okay. >> It's a problem. Get the out of my house. >> Okay. So, physically did he touch you today? >> Absolutely. He can get the out of my house. >> Okay. What prompted him to touch you? >> Cuz I told him that you didn't do what the [ __ ] it is that I told you to do and it's a problem. >> Okay. >> Get out of my house. >> Okay. I see. All right. We'll go ahead and work with that, okay? >> Please and thank you. You can use them. I got some potatoes for you. >> Okay. You can peel your potatoes. >> You can get the [ __ ] out of my house, though. >> That's not how it works, man. >> What do you mean it's not how it works? >> That's not how it works. He has a reservation here. He lives here. You have to evict him. >> Oh, okay. I got to evict my child? >> Yes. >> So, I can put him in my garage cuz he's still in my house, right? >> Yes, he is. >> lock my doors and put him in my garage cuz he's still in the house, right? >> Sure. >> Okay, very good. >> I'll make sure >> is no longer needed then cuz I can put him in the garage. >> Okay. Well, I'll make sure DCFS is aware. >> I'm sorry? >> I'll make sure DCFS is aware that's what you're going to do. >> time, you want me to call them cuz I have a phone number. >> Go ahead and call them. Yep. >> Absolutely. >> The cops took their time following procedure, but as far as Leslie went, very quickly she was running out of patience. At one point, she decided she had better things to do and went upstairs. One of the officers followed the woman and she didn't appreciate it one bit. >> You at work. You You at work. You're good. You have no reason to come this way, though. >> I sure do. >> For what? >> Uh, to make sure that you're good. >> I'm fine. [laughter] This is my house. >> That's great. >> Am I being aggressive to you? Have I Have I threatened you with bodily harm? You have no reason to follow me. >> and you had a bat in your hand. >> And that's for my son, in my house. >> Don't put your fingers in my face. >> Magnum, you have the wrong one and the right one at the same time. Excuse me. >> Leslie, Leslie, Leslie, I need you to step out. Step out. Leslie, step out. I'm going to arrest you for obstructing right now if you don't step out. >> not going to do is What you're WHAT YOU'RE NOT GOING to do is he told me Excuse me. And when you get finished, and when you get done you will go ahead and call DCFS. And when you get finished >> Back up. Back up. Call TL. out. Go. 10-4 units. 10-11. 7-11 units. We got one fighting. Get this arm first. Put her in cuffs. >> Yeah, I'm trying to get the other one. >> After tackling Leslie to the floor, two of the cops barely managed to hold her down and stop her from moving, which of course just infuriated her even more. Instead of calming down a bit and making things easier on herself and everyone involved, she continued resisting. >> You got me up. >> Lift code 30. >> GET YOUR [ __ ] KNEE OFF MY BACK. GET THE [ __ ] OFF of me. >> Roll her on her side. >> What's your badge number? >> Get up. >> GET WHAT'S YOUR BADGE NUMBER? >> GET UP. >> I DON'T ACTUALLY Don't touch me. Don't >> Stand up. >> Get back. Don't do that [ __ ] with me. >> Get her phone. >> No, I have my I'm fixing my clothes. Where's your badge number, officer Black? Where's your badge number, officer Black? >> Go downstairs. >> I'm fixing my clothes. >> Okay, we'll fix that after you get downstairs. >> I don't need you to fix [ __ ] after you get downstairs. >> All right, let's get over here. >> Where's your badge number, officer Black? >> Let's go. >> You got me You got me >> After being handcuffed, they took the woman out and she was escorted to a squad car. She continued resisting both verbally and physically. When the supervisor got there, the cops tried to explain what had happened, but not surprisingly, she was determined to keep the spotlight to herself. >> We had to take her down, yeah. >> No, you ain't had to take [ __ ] Hey, I wasn't aggressive. I didn't do [ __ ] towards you. That's my child. That's my house. Do you understand what I'm saying? It's cool and I got asked I got people in my mother but the [ __ ] you in my house though. Sit still. This is what I called y'all for. Get my child my child out my house before my child up. Do you understand what I'm saying? Okay. Sit still. Stop moving your feet. >> Stop moving. >> Hey, GET MY FEET MOVING. HEY, GET MY FEET. HOW ABOUT I STEP ON YOUR FEET THEN? >> HEY. >> YOU WANT ME TO DO a split? I can do one. >> Okay, let's act like we >> me to do one? I got it. You want to check them? You can check them like this. You can check them. You see them? >> Okay. >> Do you see them? >> Take off your shoes. >> Do you see them? >> Take off your shoes. >> Call. >> Take her shoes off. >> Let me take them off. >> Okay, fine. >> Hey, [ __ ] What else tea time, hey [ __ ] You want me to take Stop talking. You want ME TO TAKE YOUR SOCKS OFF? >> NO, LISTEN. >> YOU found me. Call. >> As the officer searched her, she was doing splits and taking her shoes off, which actually helped. Leslie was taken to jail and charged with resisting arrest and domestic battery. On the 22nd of February, 2026, a woman called 911 saying that her husband Brad had physically assaulted her and their son. On top of that, he'd broken their phones and thrown them out of the house. When the cops confronted Brad, he had a very different story. >> We're back. Thanks for coming in again. I just got some follow-up questions to ask you. Thanks for coming. >> Thank you. >> Okay. Where are their uh phones at? >> I have no idea. >> You don't know? >> No. >> Okay. Do you know where you don't know where your wife's phone is at? >> I have no clue where it is or anything. >> She thought she dropped it somewhere in the house. I don't know. Is his phone still here? >> No. >> Do you know what happened with it? >> Yeah, it it it got broken and it got taken away. >> It got broken? How did that happen? >> I I threw it away cuz he he was using inappropriate language. >> Okay. So, you threw his phone away? >> I did. >> Is it in the garbage still? >> It is. >> Can we uh >> Can we recover it? Is that fine? >> No. >> Why not? >> Cuz it's my phone. I pay for it. >> Well, it's garbage now, right? >> So, but I it's my choice whether I can give away my my cell's broken phone. It's my property. I'm not going to give it away. >> At first, he was trying to paint the broken phone as a piece of junk he threw in the garbage, but there was a reason the cops were interested in it and also a reason why Brad didn't want to give it to them. So, the cops kept asking questions. >> It's broken? >> Yes. >> How did it break? >> He threw it down here. >> Okay. Okay. >> He threw his own phone? >> Yeah. >> Why would he throw his own phone? >> I don't know. >> Okay, desk cam. Is his Nintendo around here, too? >> That's That's That's gone as well. >> You said that's gone as well? >> It's gone as well. It's in the garbage. >> Is it broken as well? >> I don't know if it's broken or not, but it's not It's not getting back It's not coming back. >> Did he ever say anything about calling 911 before you took his phone away? >> Did he say call 911? >> I'm asking you. >> No, you do not. >> He wasn't trying to call 911 at any point? [music] >> No. >> So, if his phone is [snorts] broken and in the garbage, what would be the problem with us recovering it? >> [music] >> I'm not giving you You don't have a warrant for my phone. It's my property. It is That is not You're not giving you my his phone. [music] >> So, I asked you before what you thought your wife would say. >> No. >> Do you have any idea what she said? >> I have no idea [music] what she said. >> When the officers asked the man about a previous incident, Brad claimed that he didn't know anything about it. But eventually, he admitted that back in August, there'd been a similar incident, but he said he wasn't present when his wife called police. Therefore, the cops went back to investigating what had happened today. >> Where were you exactly when you threw the bowl? Where were you standing specifically? >> I was about a half foot away from the counter. >> Half a foot? Okay. So, obviously, we got some conflicting stories. >> Yeah. >> Um and [music] we were asking about the phone specifically because we're being told that somebody was trying to call 911 when you took and broke the phone. >> I happily called 911, and she could have She could have stayed around here. Both of them could have stayed around here. They chose to leave once I said I was calling 911. So, I wasn't preventing anyone from calling 911. They have many devices around the house that they can use and call 911 from. If they really wanted to call 911, they could have could have called 911. >> Well, I guess why >> Like I called it, and they left. Like like I I actually called it. I >> So, I'm going to go back. Downstairs is where the whole argument started downstairs. Is that correct? >> It did. >> And who touched you first? >> She touched me first. >> She touched you first. How did she touch you? >> She The The The physical confrontation did not happen until up here. The bowl broke. She came after me. I have the marks all over me to prove it. >> And those are all from her, you're saying? >> They are. >> He claimed that most of the scratches on his arm came from his wife. But at some point during the argument, their son got involved, too. The cops then circled back to his son's phone and Nintendo, and the question was, if he wanted to take them away, why did he have to break them? >> At what point did you break the phone? >> [music] >> At what point? About midway through the the the event. >> Was it upstairs? [music] >> Yeah. >> And So, how how how did it How did you break it? Did it just like crack in half or >> Yes. Yeah. >> So, it wasn't thrown on the on the floor. >> it it eventually got thrown down here. >> You see how this is going? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. Caught you in a lie. >> You're going to call my lie? >> I caught you in a lie. >> Caught me in a lie? >> Just now. >> Because I >> You said that the phone was broken cuz he threw it on the floor. >> Okay. >> You just just admitted on camera that you broke the phone. >> Okay. I broke the phone. >> So, what else is a lie? >> There's nothing else that's a lie. >> Okay. >> And why did you break his phone? >> Not because he swore at you. >> I I just I just told you like three or four times. >> Because he said he's calling 911 and you didn't want him to call 911 at the time, right? >> I I what I wanted to be on camera. >> That is not what happened at all. >> No matter how much the cops pressed the man to tell the truth to them, he kept coming back to the fact that he was the one who called 911 as if that made him innocent. If that was his only defense, there was a problem. The cops believed that his son tried to call the cops first, but Brad had broken his son's phone to stop him. >> The reason you don't want us to have the phone is because it's broken. And because it's yours. >> Because it's mine. >> It's my property. >> Yes, absolutely. 100%. >> So, do you use that phone to call people or does he exclusively use people phone to call people? >> It's my son's phone, so he uses it. >> So, it'd be his property then. Right? >> You paid for it. It's not his property. >> matter who paid for it. >> It does, officer. And the last time I checked, it does. I own it. I paid for it. I paid the bill on it. It's my phone. I'm pretty sure that makes it my phone. I don't know about what what kind of law they're teaching these days, but that would make it my property. >> He's the one that exclusively uses it. >> Right? Just cuz I mean I He exclusively He exclusively uses a lot of things. That doesn't make make it it makes it yours. You can rent something, you exclusively use it, that doesn't make it it's not yours. >> Okay. Where's your wife's phone? >> Where's my wife's what? >> Phone. >> I have no idea where her phone is at. >> Where does she normally keep it? >> Where does she normally keep it? >> she's your wife, you don't you know? >> In the bedroom, around the house, I have no idea. She thought she dropped it at some point. >> During the dispute, you're saying? >> That That's what she was claiming, yes. >> At that point, Brad was careful with his words, trying to claim he was the victim. And despite the fact that the cops slowly picked his story apart, they couldn't get him to confess or give them the evidence they needed. When the officers asked if they could look for it in the basement, he initially agreed, but just a moment later, he began to backtrack. >> Well, actually I Am I under arrest? Are you guys >> I'm sorry, you don't have permission to go down there. >> You don't have permission to go down there? You don't have permission to go down there? Like what what Like I'm going to ask this. Am I under arrest? >> So we're trying to We obviously talked to them, okay? >> Yeah. >> And that changes things cuz we get more information >> Yeah. >> based on what they're telling us. So, that's why we came back here to talk to you again to give you >> my wife ample time to look for her phone. She didn't have time to. It may be in the basket in the basement, it may not be in the basement. I have no idea. But you're not You're not going to I'm not going to have you go go through my house. It's not It's not a warrant. >> Um I'm clearly the person that got beat the >> Okay, but do you do you realize you're not the only person with injuries in this situation? >> Really? >> He vehemently denied hurting his wife. However, he forgot one thing. Despite the altercation, it was her house as well as her sons. They both had residency, and according to what the law said, Fred didn't have the right to throw them out without going through an eviction. >> Does she live here? Does she live here? >> Yeah, does she live here? >> What do you think? >> I'm asking you. >> Does she live here? Does she stay here every night? >> Yeah. >> She lives >> Okay, she has residency. You can't kick her out of the house. >> I I I told her to leave. I I I'm not I'm the title on the house. >> That doesn't mean anything. You can't kick your wife out of the house if she doesn't want to leave. She has residency. >> she was at the She was She was like attacking me, and I asked her to leave. And she left. >> Am I under arrest? >> No. So, that's going to You're going to be in the yard. >> Yep. >> Hands behind your back. You are under arrest. >> I'm under arrest? >> Yeah, all right. >> [snorts] >> By that point, the cops had heard both sides of the story. Fred's deceit and demeanor, and other pieces of evidence supported the statements from his wife and his son. Therefore, despite not having the phones as evidence, they placed the man under arrest, and he was later charged with domestic battery. On the 10th of May, 2023, in Orlando, Florida, a woman called the cops reporting her car stolen, but said she barely knew the person who stole it. Allegedly, he was just a casual acquaintance, but the cops had a hunch that she wasn't being completely honest. >> Yep. And then he got my car. I've been trying to get my vehicle all day from him. I followed him up here in this car. I followed her. I used her to follow me up here. He chased me down. I had to literally run around in circles trying to jump in my car. >> Okay. >> I know how he was, and he ran right into that house. I don't know I think he's still in there. I think everybody else in the house knows but I think he's still in there. >> What happened? What happened? >> What do you mean he stole it? >> He stole my vehicle. >> So >> At what point did he not let you have it? >> No, he stole I followed him up here. I have a tracker on my car. He don't know I have a tracker on my car. So I followed him up here, and he jumped out the car. We was over on M-1 when he >> What? >> I followed him up here. I jumped in the car, and he ran into the apartment. Then he came back out when I tried to jump in my car from this car, he came back out chasing me around. >> Was it just a disagreement or or what what happened? What what started the whole thing? >> It doesn't matter. He doesn't have He doesn't have authority to >> Well, we have to we have to determine the reason why it happened. >> He He stole my car. He jumped in the car, and he stole the car. >> The cops had a hunch that as far as the woman and the thief went, they were romantically involved. However, the woman denied it. That being said, it was an important piece of info, and if the cops got to the bottom of it, they could find out if it was car theft, just a failure to return, or something else entirely. >> Does he have keys to the car? >> No. >> How did he get in the car? Do you know? >> the keys. He stole the keys and put them in his pocket. He ran to the car, and he jumped in the car. >> Okay. So okay, stop right there. How did he steal the keys? Like where How was it Was he with you? Was he in a house with you? Like did he steal them out of your pocket? Did he push you down? >> and grabbed the keys out of my hand. He also >> So you had an argument with him? >> grabbed my phone. >> Okay. >> Yeah, he grabbed my phone. >> What time was this about? >> Um I could check. >> Okay. >> Did you ever let him use the car? >> No. I have all the messages telling him return my car. >> Okay. >> Um The time was about I'm not even sure. >> If you were to guess. >> If I were to guess, 11:00 maybe like 11:00 11:00 this morning. >> 11:00, okay. >> Mhm. >> How do you know this guy? >> We talked like we >> Just casually? >> Yeah. >> Did he say anything specific like I'm going to take your car or what was what was the deal? Like why would he just take your car? >> He took my phone and the keys too. And he stole the keys. We were fighting. He took phone. He took keys. He threw the phone. He threw the phone. He threw the phone. I had to have my neighbor drive me to go look for the phone. He tried to throw the phone in the lake. I was able to retrieve my phone. This was earlier this morning. And I I told him it's a check on the car he didn't return my phone. He never paid that with the car. >> The woman showed the cops a picture of the suspect and the damage he'd done to her car. At the entrance to his apartment, they managed to track the man down and not surprisingly, he was telling a very different story. >> Y'all want to write it up? All right, appreciate it. Bro, first it it started in the morning. First, we woke up. She went through my phone, you know. She seen another female on my phone. She went to going crazy. You know how that She going crazy. So, we were dating. So, we were back and forth, you know. I broke her little bed. I didn't break her bed. I fell on her bed and the headboard broke. >> Okay. >> You know, then I had grabbed her phone. She wanted her phone, but I didn't give her phone until everything you know escalated down, you know. >> Okay. >> Boom. So, I'm giving her I'm trying to give her her phone. She hit me in the back of the head with a vase. >> I didn't say that [ __ ] Oh, that's what >> So, I didn't call you guys though. I kept it like, you know, I'm I'm going to keep it player. I'm going to keep it between >> the paperwork? >> It just happened right now. It just happened like literally. I just left the hospital literally. But I'm I'm trying to keep it player. >> Where did this happen at? >> Where did this happen with what? >> Where she hit you with the vase? >> Where she hit me at? Her house. Right now I'm on Conroy. I'm on Conroy. >> She said it was the M2. >> Right there by the bottom of >> I'm on the way there. >> I'm on my way to the key back. >> I didn't call you guys because I'm just chilling. I ain't you feel me? I'm I'm I'm taking it like a man, you know? We always go through this and we and we and we >> Can I see it? >> We always go through this and we be back together the next day, you know what I'm saying? So, it wasn't no point of me calling you guys cuz what happened we going to be together again tomorrow, you >> Do you want to go with him? >> We going to be together tomorrow, you feel me? So, boom. >> The young man explained that because his ear was bleeding, he took her car to go to the hospital. And then right after leaving the hospital, he sent a text to the woman to meet him at that location. Also, he said she'd let him use the car before. >> What's he talking about? He said I stole her car. How I stole her car? I didn't steal your car. >> How long have you guys been dating? >> For like 3 years now. >> 3 years? >> How did I steal your car though? Like I had to go for help. I didn't want to call the police. I didn't want to call the ER. So I went straight to the ER, you know? And when I'm in the ER the whole time, she's blowing me up talking about the police going to come get you. You just hit me with a vase. Why Why do the police got to come to me if you just hit me with a vase? Like let's be real. I ain't go police on you. I'm chilling. I'm taking it like a man. >> Who'd you pick up? >> Who I pick up? I pick up my own boy so he can see that evidence, you know? But he left. He just left. >> You didn't take any video of it or anything? >> Video? >> Yeah. >> Video of what? >> Of the whole thing that happened. >> No, I didn't take a video. But you can call the You can call the hospital people. I just left. Like literally literally I left like an hour ago. >> So you guys got into a fight yesterday too? >> I just told you he was He was fighting me for my phone. He was trying to steal my phone. >> Yesterday or today? >> I don't know today. It was today. I I wasn't around yesterday. >> You guys fight yesterday? >> No, I was not around yesterday. >> Just like she denied they had a relationship, she denied they'd gotten into an argument the day before. At that point, the female officer deconstructed her lies bit by bit and the woman gradually started telling the truth or parts of it at least. >> What he's saying is that you have given him permission in the past. >> No, I'm telling you guys I've never given him I've never He's never ever ever driven my car. Ever. No. He's never driven my car. >> Okay. >> He's never driven my car. >> Okay. So I'm just saying what he's saying. He's saying he has >> he stole He stole We literally fought. He stole my phone and I had my neighbors as a witness. >> Okay. So you How long you have been seeing him? >> No. >> Like 3 years? Be on Listen, I already got the scoop. So you You might as well be honest with me. >> I don't think it's been 3 years. We don't date. Like we're not boyfriend and girlfriend. >> But >> But, if you been, like, sleeping together, it's considered a dating violence thing. So. You've been sleeping together, obviously. >> No, ma'am. >> Okay, why is he telling a whole 'nother story, then? >> Cuz he's a liar. >> Well, who's the liar? Is it you or him? I'm I'm I'm asking. >> We sleep together occasionally, like, when you're just seeing someone casually, but we don't. It's not like we live together or >> I didn't say I didn't ask if you live together. I just asked how long have you been When's the last time you were intimate with him? >> I wouldn't even remember. It wasn't recent. >> Like, a couple A week? >> Probably. Yeah, I I don't know. >> You said a couple weeks? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> After establishing they were in a relationship, the officers asked her whether she ever let him drive her car, and she denied it once again. She also denied hitting the man with a vase. >> What happened to your ear? >> I just told you he was trying to bite me. He probably slipped and fell on something. If you see my my my house my house is trash. He literally was fighting me all over the house. I would've made a report at the house, but I wanted to get my vehicle back, because he's known for doing all kinds of crazy stuff. >> You didn't hit him at all with anything? >> No, why would I hit him? >> So, these are questions I have to ask, cuz you two are telling opposite stories. >> I'm really upset. >> I understand that, and I apologize that you are. >> fighting me. I didn't even know something was >> That's right. So, you two are telling literally the polar opposite stories, okay? He's telling one thing, you're saying another. So, it's my job now to figure out who's telling the truth. He went to the hospital. >> Okay, what did he say he did at the hospital? >> He said he wasn't going to call police. >> Okay, I'm going to call the police about my vehicle. If I hit him in the ear, that was his right rightful duty to call the police, if that's what happened. Now, he's coming and telling you guys this, and you're just going to believe him. I mean, whatever you do is on you, but if that had happened, I'm sure he would've called the police. >> So, he's just trying to figure out what's going on. >> I'm the one making the report about my vehicle. >> She was under the impression that she couldn't get in trouble, because she was the one who had called 911. And certainly, she did not expect to be accused of assaulting the man she was seeing, quote unquote, casually, but she was in for a surprise. >> Can we get her somebody to call for her? >> I'm going to go to jail. I didn't hit somebody. I didn't hit him though. >> It's true. Relax. Relax. >> But I didn't hit him or nothing. >> Okay. >> I didn't hit him or nothing. He probably fell, but I didn't I didn't hit him or nothing. >> Listen, his his wounds are consistent with everything he told me and nothing of what you said. >> me that we were fighting. >> Relax. >> But we were fighting, man. Uh-uh-uh-uh. >> Just go inside, man. >> You don't grab me like >> Why? Why? Relax. Relax your hands. Let me Let me make sure these aren't tight on you, okay? >> You don't grab me like That's all I'm going to say, cuz I did not hit you. >> Stop. Stop walking. Are you Are you in charge or am I? >> I'm sorry, but I did not hit that man. >> She was placed under arrest and taken to jail. Thankfully, she didn't resist the cops or object. She was booked on aggravated assault charges, but in a court of law, all parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Thanks for watching The Hidden Files.
