[Music] hurting me. It's awesome. I love it. This is so amazing. I have this hand if you get that. Get off my hair. What the is wrong with you people? Michelle, what's going on with my car? Your car that was involved in a hit and run. No. The one that I have on camera at Walgreens and a witness. No. No. No. Okay. Well, we're towing it for processing. You didn't pay for the food, right? Okay. But I was going to go tomorrow and pay for it. Like it wasn't it wasn't like it wasn't like I was going to steal it. I had the money and I knew the manager. I spoken to the manager before. When it dawns on criminals that the long armor of the laws finally caught up with them, each of them face the music in their own style. Some of them improvise silly lies while others deliver high-pitched screams. Sometimes they shake, rattle, and roll in an attempt to escape. But the song always remains the same for these dumb criminals when they realize they've been arrested. Our Father, who are in heaven, be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in heaven. Give us this day. Forgive us our trespasses. We forgive those trespasses. On February 7th, 2024 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, police were dispatched after a 911 call regarding an armed robbery at a Circle K gas station. An employee stated that the suspect, later identified as Jordan Vasquez, was threatening her with a knife and an axe and stole two packs of cigarettes. When police arrived on scene, he was found outside involved in a very alarming dispute with customers. Albuquerque, please. Your hands are Get down. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Police. Get back. Get back. Get back. And just like that, the cops found themselves in a dangerous pursuit. Vasquez still tried to escape despite a low chance of success and high chances of causing serious injury to everyone around him. He only managed to make it to a retail complex across the street before deciding to flee on foot instead. Get on the ground right now. Get the ground. Get down. Get down. Get down. Everybody double. Hold on. Hold on. Stop moving. Stop moving. The cops managed to stun Vasquez with a round of non-lethal beanag ammunition. The man had no intention of giving up and he had to be immobilized. The officers did this in the safest way possible. Down. Roll over. You got any weapons on you? I love you. All right. Fin. position. Sit up. We're going to sit you up. Yeah. All right. Yeah. I'm going back. We're going to help you. Yeah. I'm sitting down. Sit. Sit on your butt. Sit on your butt. Lean up against this. I'm trying. Come on. I'm right there. Stay right there. I'm big. That car might not be in parked. I don't know. It's still being checked down the street. Do you have an ID on you, man? No. Not surprisingly, just like countless criminals before him, Vasquez claimed to have no ID. But it wouldn't take them long at all to learn his identity. Defeated and exhausted, Vasquez decided he was living on a prayer. Pun intended. Is there a reason to lock this place down or not? No, but might as well at this point. He's in here and he's in positive service. It's all right. not lock down, but just let's not let customers in anymore. Our father in heaven, be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, forgive us our trespasses, we forgive those who trespass against us, lead us not into temptation, deliver us from all evil. Amen. Lord, take care of us. Protect us to this evil place. Protect Take me everywhere I'm ready to go, Lord. Don't let these people harm me. Although God may be willing to forgive Vasquez for his sins in the afterlife, the arresting officers were in no mood for forgiveness in the here and now. They were dealing with a violent and unstable individual who was giving no signs of being able to adjust to civil society or even meet the most basic standards of human conduct. Why'd you shoot me out before the weapon's out? Dude, you're driving trying to go into a into a business with your vehicle. Dude, I never I never drove. Well, I'm just explaining to you, okay? You weren't listening to our commands, okay? You ran ran into a police car. So, therefore, you died out. God forgive me. Save me. keep me in heaven or I'm sorry for all that I've done in my past. As we stated, they'd stunned the man with non-lethal means using beanag ammunition. It was one of the only ways to safely do so and make sure he could do no further harm. Now safely in custody, they brought Vasquez to his feet and brought him outside to await paramedics. [Music] Roman loves all of you. He loves you. God loves you. God loves you. God loves you. Yeah, we're just having sit down here. I don't Let's sit down right here so we can get the paramedics to check you out. We're going to we're going to sit you down for no reason. No, you couldn't be in the business, man. Dude, I wasn't hurting nobody though. I wasn't here. I got you. Yeah, there you go. One day you see me, bro. You're a son of God. Also, I am nicer. I'm not saying you guys are good, though. Vasquez, probably exhausted from his highstakes crime spree, finally started acting more subdued. He decided to lie face down on the concrete to rest and pray. Despite being a religious man, he had thrown several commandments right out the window. Maybe ten commandments was just way too many for him. Our father who heaven be [Music] it was nice the last we always get that one last like cold front right before March. We'll get one in late February where it's just like I thought it was going to snow. The cops had to spend several minutes just trying to help the large man into the back of the cruiser. His speech was pretty slurred. A likely indicator that he was heavily under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Do you know where you're at? You going to jail in Albuquerque? You know how far you go to? I'm dying. Okay. Well, let the medics know that. Okay. We'll get out overnight over here. [Music] We'll give you a phone call. Goodbye. [Music] After being checked for injuries, he was taken back to the station where he continued to mumble. He seemed completely unaware of how serious his actions were. In total, Vasquez racked up eight charges, six felonies, and two misdemeanors, the most serious of which were armed robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A judge later ordered a psychiatric evaluation, and he was initially denied bail. On September 20th, 2024 in Champagne, Illinois, cops arrived at a woman's home for an interview. There had apparently been a battery allegation that transpired the week before. Champagne Police. Hello. Are you Janice? I'm officer of Champagne Police. Um, so reason why I'm here. Do you know someone named Well, he he said that um a couple Saturdays ago, so it'd be on the 14th, September 14th, that you went in the store and threw a cup of water on him. You remember that? Why are you guys here about that? I'm just here to talk to you about it. Because this is a normal matter that police typically handles. Mhm. This is like this. So, she did pour the water or throw the water on that day. Although she goes by Janice, her legal name is Chan Weldon. What the officer was talking about was an encounter she had last week with a local business owner, which thankfully was also recorded on body cam. Do you need backstory? Do you want I know backtory. I talked to you on the phone like an hour one day. Hello again. Yeah. So, um, I have the name of the two people that were in the store cuz it was just me, two customers. I was in the back. I'm clearing off a table cuz I sold it, so I'm just picking it up later. Take a picture of those numbers. Yeah. Yep. And they were like, they were like, "We don't want to go to court or anything, but we'll answer any questions or whatever." Um, she has a ban notice here. She has a court date. She has a court date on the 15th from spray painting on my property. The business owner had been facing ongoing harassment and vandalism from the woman. Despite being banned from the store and facing criminal charges for property damage, she continued harassing the man and obstructing his ability to conduct his business in a peaceful manner. But um I was basically right at that right at that entryway there and I saw her approaching me and I just marched by her because I was like I want to get her out of the store. She's mad at me. She's going to yell at me or whatever. She'll follow me. took about two, three steps, got lights about where she is, and she just chucked this drink at me. I'm fine. Like I'm not like I've done I can obviously see your spilled on you. Yeah. Yeah. These two took a picture of me. And then I just got done mopping and there's like little red dots on cleaning. She actually all but I'm just telling you all this kind of minor as it is if that's assault or whatever I I will do whatever I mean it's bad she threw according to the man's account which was fully backed up by witnesses Johna had been an ongoing menace harassing the man and assaulting him and vandalizing his property whenever she felt so inclined. One wonders what mental illness she might have been suffering from. Regardless, back at her house, the moment of reckoning had come. Okay. All right. Well, go ahead and step out here. We're going to be placing under arrest. Okay. Stop. Stop. Stop. What is that? Put your hand behind your back. This is so not right. Okay. You're under arrest for battery. Okay. Oh my god. Resisting on top of that. So, you need to cooperate with us. Okay. No. No. I'm not doing this. I'm not. No, I am not doing this. This is ridiculous. Do you want to charge for resistance? I don't care. This is ridiculous. He assaulted me. Nobody did anything. Nobody wants to Oh my god, you guys. Stop ridiculous. Get off me. Get off me. Not like you guys haven't already done enough damage. Keep at it until I love it. This is so amazing. Get off my hair. What the is wrong with you people? Chanja decided to go down the path of maximum resistance. Thinking her strength and verbal assaults would be enough to repel the cops. From her perspective, the battle had just begun. This is so unlawful. Are youing hitting me for throwing a cup of water on somebody? This is insane. You all Oh my No, no, no, no. You guys don't psychopaths. Oh my god, you're hurting me. Let go. Stop resisting. for throwing a cup of water. Oh, and me in the groin. Oh, because I'm being assaulted by you now. Everybody just gets the assault me out of I'm getting to go to jail. This is so amazing. Love my life. Love this community. You guys are so good at doing your jobs. You're welcome to move. I will. Don't worry. So, it's a search. For some suspects, their resistance slowly crescendos and ultimately peaks to a moment of absolute rage. Chanja seemed to have a lot of fight in her and showed no signs of slowing down and cooperating. Okay, I'm just searching you. Okay, so just cooperate. Okay, I'm going to use the back of my hand to search your bra. Don't even have one on. I have a sprained ankle. Get off of me. You good? Yes. I've got control. I'm going to break my wrist. Okay, your wrist is fine. No, it's not. How can you feel what my wrist feels like? Can you feel what my wrist feels like? Do you have that capability? Cuz that would be amazing. You want to take a seat? But first is easier. There you go. You got to put your feet in. Put your feet in. Can't move my ankles. Frank, do you guys take everyone who pour water on people to jail? Can I have the statistics of that? It's battery. No, it's not. Can I have your Janja suggested it was all no big deal, not realizing she incriminated herself by admitting to the assault. Perhaps she enjoyed making other people's lives as miserable as her own. [Music] How many How many in the United States of America? from people's pouring water all the time. No, I I need numbers. I don't have You have a phone, don't you? You have a computer, don't you? That's really relevant. Yeah, it really is because that's the pile that I'm in right now. After somebody. After being mirandized and secured in the back of the vehicle, it was time to bring John Ja back to the station for formal processing. So far, she'd tried physical resistance and extreme sarcasm with the officers. Now, let's see what her next strategy is. On top of the original battery charge, she was also charged with resisting a peace officer and aggravated battery on a peace officer. She was initially denied bail as she awaited her day in court. So far, we've seen a large religious man run from the cops and a small sarcastic woman assault members of her community. Next up, we've got a hit-and-run driver who thought she could hide from justice. On September 2nd, 2022 in Orlando, Florida, police were dispatched to interview an elderly woman whose car had been struck. Hello. Hi. You okay? Okay. Did the fire department already come and check you out? Yeah, they don't. Okay. Are you hurt? No. So, what happened? I was We were waiting in line about five, seven cars going this way. Yeah. Going that way. All of a sudden, this somebody hit me. Okay. And I saw her going by. So, I thought she was going to stop. She ran away. I went after her, but I got her license plate. Okay. The tag that you gave to I ran it like three times. I didn't come back to anything. You have a photo. Cuz the one that we have in our call log is not it's not coming back to anything. So you were facing Were you in the left lane? Oh, in the right lane. Right. Far right lane. I have a window. There's a guy here walking in the And we saw it all happen. Okay. You know what? This is the second time this happened. That stinks in the back. I stopped my car about a week. Yeah, people are terrible. Luckily, this innocent lady was uninjured in the hidden run. But the back of her car, however, would need some significant body work. Probably in a state of shock, she was unable to write down the correct license plate tag. Thankfully, however, security cameras and other witnesses caught the incident, so it took less than an hour to track down the perpetrator. Michelle, what's going on with my car? Your car that was involved in a hit and run? No. The one that I have on camera at Walgreens and a witness. No. No. No. Okay. Well, we're towing it for processing. And then what? You can get it out. And then what? I'll probably come and arrest you for what? Hit and run. And then what? Go to jail. For what? Hit and run. How long does this take? I don't know. Long. However long I want to take it. What does that mean? Were you driving this car earlier? Yeah, earlier today. Yeah. Yes, you were. Yeah. Okay. So, why did you hit that lady and then take off? It's on camera. I got a witness. I got So, if you remember all that, what does that mean? Okay. Well, I'm still towing your car cuz we're going to process it. The female officer, Officer Batty, already knew the identity of the woman, Michelle, who callously showed no sympathy whatsoever for the elderly lady whose car she'd struck. Equally dumb, Michelle somehow thought that hiding behind a fence would allow her to escape the long arm of the law. You want to tell me this or do you want me to do a warrant for you? What do you want? I don't know what to offer. I don't know either. Either way, you go to jail. Either way, you're going to go to jail. Either way, you're going to jail. How long? Till then. You want to come out here and talk to us? All right. So, you were driving the car earlier, correct? You already said it. Oh, yeah. Okay. Okay. All right. So, what do you want to do about this? You can take it. Okay. So, what happened? Do you have your ID on you? I already know who you are. Huh? ID. She seems like she's drunk. This car would be she'd be Yeah. Yes. She had a little old lady sitting at in the light on Curry Ford. You would think she she put it someplace where it can't be seen. That would be She's still drunk. She look like she had a bug. She sounded like it. Even the tow truck driver was in disbelief over Michelle's lack of sound judgment. Meanwhile, officer Batty suspected Michelle was still intoxicated. And the tow truck driver thought the same. My car. I need You will go to jail. I need to get my purse out of my car. It's It's in their property. No, no, no, no, no. You will go to jail. My purse is my property. You will go to jail. Why can't you get in my purse? He's already under their authority at this time. Authority. Come on. Whatever's in there. Can I get it out tomorrow? Yes. Whenever you pick up the car, but not Where is it going? We'll give you a business card. Can you put it here on the door? Please don't yank my shirt. Please do not yank my shirt. Stop. I did not. Stop. Please get off. What did you for resisting? Stop resisting. I didn't resist. You are resisting. You're pulling and tugging. That is resisting. Hold up. Pull up. Pull up. I'm pulling my way up. Stop. You understand? Stop. No, I'm gonna come here first. Michelle was actually trying to sneakily retrieve her personal belongings. For someone trying to avoid arrest, every action she took and words she spoke just made things worse for the woman. What if I didn't come outside? What if I didn't come outside? Told you I was going to put charters on you. If I didn't come outside, Were you going to go in there? Like you had a warrant? No. Then the moment I come outside is when you're Well, now you're going for resistance because I should be resisting. I should be resistant. I told you I was doing an investigation for hit and run. Okay. I had to come outside. You want me to come outside my personal property? At that point, you're interfering with our investigation. Now you're going to jail. I start in the car. How was that interference? Michelle imagined a parallel universe in which she never had to come outside to be apprehended or placed in handcuffs. I'm wondering if she was suffering from brain fog or just some terrible hangover. Who knows? Maybe the complexities of the criminal justice system were just too much for the woman to comprehend. It could have been all these things combined. Please stop touching me. No. Got to make sure nothing on you. That's gross. Okay. Like that's nasty. Please stop touching me. Please stop being so rough. Just relax. Uh, no. I can't. It's a little hard with you being rough. Stop. That hurts. Okay, that hurts. I'm pissed off. Please stop doing that. After being mirandized, Michelle was questioned by officer Batty. She admitted again to being the driver of the vehicle involved in the hidden run. And her behavior and speech gave her away as being disoriented and spaced out. Thinking I didn't do something when I did. Okay. Or maybe not. I don't know. I saw your car hit the I mean, it's very clear. If it's like on Yeah, that Yes. I'm sorry. I'm just [ __ ] I hopeful. I mean, like I to me it wasn't like that, but if I see it for myself, then maybe you don't think it was that serious or something? Like I thought it maybe wasn't even real. I don't know. Okay. So, you didn't think the accident was real? Cuz it was real. You hit the They hit this older old lady. It's hard for me to believe I did that. So, if I saw it, then yeah, I'll believe it. But, I mean, I don't know. Yeah. Okay. So, if I show you on camera, do you have that right now? Yeah. I sure did. So then what? Well, you go. If you would have just stayed on scene, it would have just been a regular accident. I know. But now that you left, it's now considered a hit and run. Okay. What does that mean? Well, you can get charged because you hit somebody. You left. You have Is there any way to like You have a duty. Is there any way to like come back to from that? Then Michelle actually wondered out loud if she could go back in time and reverse the decision she made. But Officer Batty here wasn't going to wait for time machines to be invented. None of the excuses she concocted could actually alter her fate. Or at least at the very least you got to stop and give your information. But I didn't. And there's no way around that with her. Not anymore. Even if you have like amnesia or something. So you have amnesia. I mean I'm not saying that but maybe something's wrong with me. I don't know. I'm sorry. I'm trying to fix my shoes. It's bothering me. My work shoe. Were you drinking today? There's like a ton of 99. No, I was like last night I was. Okay. What were you What were you doing this morning? Where where were you? Sleeping with my dog. My cousin's dog instead of my cousin. So, this is your cousin's house? Yeah. He'd rather not do it. He's a good guy. He didn't do bad things. I just think I had mental issues as it was. Okay. Well, were were you coming home from last night? Yeah. Okay. So, you hadn't been home yet? Yeah, I think I went to my friend's house when I was home. Okay. I think I'm not for sure. Like, I don't even know what time this happened. Michelle here seemed dazed and confused. And by the look on her face, it might not have been an act. Officer Batty suspected that heavy drinking was involved. And it's not uncommon for blackout drunks to lose all sense of time and space. Well, I can tell you that the lady you hit, you scared the crap out of her. She thought I could only imagine. She thought you were uh crazy person. No, she thought you were going to pull over and, you know, exchange information. I would think I would do that myself. So, we just chalk it up to maybe just like you said, maybe just a bad decision. Are you more stupid? I'm not saying you're a bad person. I know, but it I do stupid stuff, okay? You know, like said, hitting somebody is not the end of the world. Leaving is not good. Do you want me to put your shoes? No, that's After admitting to her own guilt, Michelle still argued that the arrest was unnecessary. One wonders if things were reversed and a spaced out drunk driver had struck her car if she'd still feel the same way about getting off scot-free. Don't let me call your boss. You were just on the phone with Then show him the camera. Yeah. After I'm in jail for two days. All right. Did you want to see the video? I know. I Yeah, I do want to see that. And I want to have my a cigarette. I'll be I can do it either. You can do that. Yes, you do. I' I've done this before. And you can do it. I need a cigarette first. All right. Anything else? A cigarette. Cigarettes. What's your name? Baby. All right. Well, I would like before you close the door for you to start bossing the video. Why not? Cuz you don't because I don't think you're close. I'll deal with it later. Okay. In the course of the discussion, Michelle dropped the fact that it wasn't her first time being arrested. Was this her first hit and run? Maybe she was able to previously evade the law and thought that she could do it once again. Unfortunately for her, not this time. She was charged with resisting arrest and hit and run. When a suspect has a warrant out for their arrest in connection to a felony, it can be risky to go out in public for even the most benign activity. The following arrest in Fort Myers, Florida on August 24th, 2023 shows just that. A relatively harmless traffic violation led to the arrest and capture of a wanted woman. I stopped completely. That's why I waited there and then I used I'm saying when you made the right turn from Poke. Sir, I I didn't do that. But that's what you're saying. Okay. All right. I'll just keep it open until you put your Yeah, cuz that's crazy. Is this car yours? This my mom's car. Do you have an ID with you, ma'am? You don't have an ID? What's your name? Sharon. Who was it? Sharon Scott. Sharon Scott. How do you spell your first name? It's textbook procedure for law enforcement to identify occupants of a car during traffic stops. Getting another citizen's contact info is a simple means of building community trust. After all, why would an innocent person squirm or sweat when simply asked for their ID? S H E R A R. I'll be right back. Hey ma'am, just to confirm, your name is S H A R I N. Pardon your name. Your first name is S H A R I N. Yes. K. Scott. Yes, sir. 12897, right? Um, you're not sure about your birthday, huh? You weren't sure about your birthday? No, I I'm sure. A common tactic, but a completely ineffective one, is responding evasively when being asked straightforward questions by cops. Criminals try to turn the tables, talking about irrelevant information or sending pointless questions back in the other direction. But all this does with cops is trigger suspicion. Hang up the pump. Hang up. Hold on. Let me see. Chad, how do you spell your first name? S H A R I L. Okay. Can you step out of the vehicle for me? Yeah. Can you step out of the vehicle for me? Unlock the car and step out of the vehicle for me. Step out of the vehicle for me. Open the car and get out of Get out of the vehicle for me. I am. I'm trying to see. Step out of the car. Step out of the car. Okay. Can I get my Nope. Get out of the car. I'm only going to say this one more time. Drop the bag and get out of the car. Don't grab bottles. Don't grab stuff. No, you don't need that stuff. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. back. I didn't do nothing. You don't need that. Sir, can you tell him to stop touching? Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Excuse me. Get out of the car. Trying to get out. Okay. Get out of the car. Excuse me. Can I step out? You're just going to step out now. Can you back up a little bit? We're not doing this. Get out. I'm trying to get out. Ouch. Ouch. I'm trying to get out. Turn around for me. That's all I wanted to do. Turn around. Wait. Get out. Sir. Nope. I'm turning around. I'm turning around. Why is it studio? Why can't the police? Sorry. Stop. Can you cry? Get out of the car. It's illegal to give the cops false information, and the penalties for doing so can be serious. But if you are planning on going down that road and giving the cops a fake name, you might at least want to learn how to spell it correctly. What's your name? Anyway, I just met her, bro. I got her off Instagram. I'll show you Instagram later. I don't play for a second. Literally, I just came up against my dad. Not. You have to. Give me your hand. It's hot. We understand. Give him the hand. You going to take your hand? Put your hand under. Give me your hand. Stoping. It's hot. How you doing, ma'am? You're going to get tased. You're about to get tased. Give me your hand. Ma'am, just comply. Comply. Just comply. Comply. Give me your hand. Give me your wrist. That's it. Hands. Last time. Hands. We understand that you're not with my hands. Please. Give me your hand. It was that simple. This is not good, bro. The man here claimed dubiously that he didn't know the name of the woman he was traveling with. And meanwhile, this mystery woman decided to go into full-blown denial and resisting arrest mode. Listen. Hey, listen. You're going to the back of the car and we're going to figure this out. Stop giving Stop resisting. No, listen. Just Hey, bro. What What's her real name? I just know her Instagram name. I can show you for real, brother. No, I'm dead serious. What do you know her as? I know her as Pice. Perice? Yes. How long have you known her? Like probably a week. cuz I'm just trying to figure this out cuz she gave me a fake name. So Oh, see I don't Listen, bro. Obviously you know her by something else and that's why Listen, I can show you my Instagram on my phone. I'm going to show you I can show you everything. I literally I'm not like I don't even I just came up here to get my daddy some liquor. I just got off work. Can I ask is all this is for like traffic stop? He said I got no license inbound license. That's Can I see that on the computer? Because I just called you cuz I just called the DMV and my DMV said my license was straight. It's not. It's in my phone. Like I just called him. And it says that your license is valid. Yes. I just called him not too long ago before I got out. Like I give us a second so we can try to finish investigating what's going on and see if I can get her name because obviously she gave me Okay. And I thought that's a ticket though. I didn't think that's like a arrest. No, it's it's it's an arrestable offense. While it was possibly true that he only recently met her on Instagram, he could still be in hot water for his suspended license. The man also divulged that he just recently gotten out of prison. Meanwhile, the man's mother arrived on scene, and the question is, is she going to bring calm to this increasingly tense situation? What the hell going on? What's going on, sir? Ma'am, can you wait by your car? We'll explain everything to you. That's what I thought, too. I know. But you weren't driving. He was. Okay. But we stopped the car because he didn't come to complete stop. He doesn't have a full He doesn't have a a valid license as of right now. His passenger passenger was resisting us. Give us a fake name. have a I don't know why, man. He has a suspended license. It's not bad. He got a suspended license. Well, your license got suspended. I called I'll show I'll show him everything. I That's what I'm saying, Mo. I don't know what they doing, Mo. Then a talking about she gave her a fake name. I'll get in touch with you in a second. This crazy, bro. Like, listen, bro. Like, I'm telling you the truth, bro. Like, I literally just got off work. Just give me a second so I can I stepped out the car. I wasn't resisting nothing. Because look, they didn't let me step out. Yes, ma'am. I watched you. Listen, I watched you. Okay, I apologize. I just wanted my watch off. Okay. So, are you going to tell me what your real name is? That is my name. No, it's not. Have you ever been arrested before? No, I'm not even from here, bro. You've never been arrested ever? No. So if I come get a deputy to come check your fingerprints, you're not going to show up on the database. Come on, be honest with me. I am, bro. I just wanted my watch off. It was no problem, bro. I real What's your real name? I just told you. I'm not lying to you, sir. The officers were growing increasingly frustrated as they still couldn't confirm the identity of the woman in custody. The longer it took to figure out who she was, the worse the outcome would probably be for her. Because I ran you through a national database and your name doesn't come back. That's impossible. That's impos database through the state of Florida and all the United States. Impossible. That's literally impossible. I didn't lie about my name. You can my stuff. So if I So if I get your fingerprints, that's what it's going to come back to. Yeah. If I have identification in the car. I wasn't I'm not I'm not resisting resisting nothing. You were resisting. Where is your identification at? In your bag. Yeah, the bag. I was trying to I was trying to get my identification before I got out. So So when I tell you drop your bag and come out of the car, you should do it instead of grabbing things, dropping bottles, telling me no, pulling your hand, right? Because all this could have been figured out if you said that that's your real name and your ID is in there and I can verify that. Then you wouldn't even been in cuffs right now. I I was trying to Okay, I'm wrong. I was trying to before I got out the car because I don't know what's going on. Okay. You didn't tell me why I was. I'm not going to tell you what's going on until I have you secured because the name you gave me doesn't come back. That name doesn't exist. Name the breast you gave me does not exist. So either you're lying to me or you spelling it wrong. I'm not lying. I just scared to get a liquor dog. How many times did I ask you what your name was? How many times did I ask you? Like four times, right? You asked me how to spell it. S H R I N. That's what you told me. As the game of cat and mouse continued, what Fice or Sharon or whatever her real name was didn't appreciate is the fact that she was the mouse caught in a trap of her own making. She could only delay and not prevent the inevitable. The cops then searched her bag to find some form of ID. You know who she looks like? She looks like Raven. Raven has a warrant, but I don't know if it's search. Are you ready to tell me your real name? Cuz there's no ID in your bag. Oh, it's supposed to be in my wallet. It's I searched your entire bag. Are you ready to tell me your real name? I'm telling you. Okay. When we go to the jail, I'll find out. If you have warrants, we'll find out. We'll find out. How am I going to go to the jail? I didn't do nothing. You resisted. You resisted. That's what you're going to jail for. How did I resist? Listen, you guys listen to me real quick. Listen to me real quick. This is the last chance I'm giving you before we go to the jail. Because if you go to the jail and I have to find out for the system that you're giving me a fake name, then you're you're going to be charged with false IDO. So, what's your real name? I'm not giving you a fake name, sir. Okay. EMS arrived on scene to check the mystery woman for injuries, but somehow the EMS on scene failed to fully close the door of the squad car. there. There wasn't anything in the trunk. people. Description 346. Now you got an escape charge. How you like them apples? The man was charged with drug possession and driving on a suspended license. Meanwhile, the reason the woman tried to keep her identity secret was that she had an existing warrant for credit card fraud, which confirmed the cop's suspicions. She faced charges of escape, giving false ID to a law enforcement officer, resisting without violence, and drug possession. As that previous case showed, a routine traffic stop can uncover serious criminal activity. It's a recurring theme. And on December 1st, 2023 in West Palm Beach, Florida, the cops got suspicious about a running car with no driver parked on the side of the road outside a residence. Incidentally, the cops also got a tip that illegal narcotics were being sold in the area. Yeah. I'm Detective Thomas, West Palm Beach Police Department. Reason I'm here is because your car is it's on. Okay, that's a problem. That's against the law. Wind everything. It is. Why? Get the law. Get out of here, man. You can, bro. Get out of here, man. Okay. Hey, chill out. Hold on. Hey, bro. Don't touch me, bro. Straight up, bro. Hold on. Don't get Ain't no reason why my car go to the front. I'm at his house. Come on, man. You go to the front. Either you going to come over here and be part of the traffic stop. If not, leave. I just told you. I just explained it to you. I just explained it to you, bro. Go to the front. Go to the front. You all go over there. I don't need you here. No weapons or anything on you. I got nothing on me. All right, cool. May I have your driver's license? It's in the car. Yo, just just speak, bro. Just relax here. Have a seat. Have a seat. Have a seat. Cuz you came over here. You hostile, bro. Just chill out. Cuz you said a traffic stop. It is a traffic stop. Stop. Hey, you weren't even here, ma'am. I just explained I just explained it to him. The The reason I'm coming here, okay, if you if you open your mouth, I'll explain it to you. Well, don't shine the light in my face. Over there. Stand. The reason The reason I'm here, close your mouth so you can listen since you want to be a bystander. The reason I'm here is because this car is on and it's running. That's why I came out here. It doesn't matter. It's against the law. Detective Thomas was met with intense hostility, not only from the car owner, Cornelius Banks, but also from neighborhood residents who objected to the presence of police in their vicinity and began shouting aggressively at the officer. Now, we're going to deescalate this because you came at me in a hostile manner. Yes, it is. I'm coming. Okay, sir. I don't know that. All right, let me do what I got to do. What's up, man? Thank you. All right, but look. Yeah, I I don't appreciate the way he came at me. He's going to get a citation. Simple as that. All right, cool. And I'm saying about some puppy, bro. You could have just explained that to me, but you came at me in a hostile manner. I know what I'm doing, bro. I know my job. All you had to do was just chill. No weapons or anything like that. Correct. Any weapons in the car? No. Okay. The reason we do this is because people will come out here and steal your call. Hey, my car got stolen. Detective Thomas brought up a great point. The very same citizens who tend to resent the existence of cops in their neighborhood are the same ones who rely on their help whenever their own reckless behavior blows up in their faces. It's hard to understand how they don't see the double standard. That's even worse. You're not in the car. You nowhere near the car, bro. Where's your Where's your ID in the car? It's in my car. Have a seat. Sit down console right there. It's where? In my console right there. Okay. May I get it? No, you can't. I get my own. All right, cool. Not going to worry about it. Take your hands out your pockets. Where's my phone? I'm going to call. Yep. The vehicle registered to you, sir? Yes, sir. All right, sir. Thank you. I'll be right back with your side. Because the cops got a tip about a drug deal going down, a nearby canine unit quickly arrived on scene to conduct a sniffing test. See for yourself how the German Shepherd responded. What you just saw was our narcotics dog. We just did an open air sniff around your vehicle. The dog did alert to a positive uh hit for narcotics. So, we are going to at this time we're going to do basically a probable cause search for the vehicle. Okay. For what? I just explained for narcotics. All right. Cool. Thank you. Got a digital scale on the right passenger door. Leave it right here for now. Ding ding ding ding. Got it. Yes, sir. Just a little bit, but it's enough for me. The dog's nose proved to be reliable. In the backseat of the vehicle, Detective Thomas found a small amount of crack. And this discovery meant Cornelius would be arrested on the spot. Under arrest, secure. Turn over. Turn over. Turn over. over. Get that radio. Get that radio. All right, we're going one arm at a time. I got his right arm. I got his right on his right on your arm. Pull your arm out. Get the car. Another arm. Give me your arm. Stop resisting. Give me your arm. Give me another pair. And we got another pair. Watch out. Give us your arm. I can't breathe. Put your arm behind your back. We'll roll you over. All right. Roll him over on the side. Hey. Hey, everybody focus on the crowd. We're good. Everybody else focus on the crowd. At the scene of the arrest, there were six officers already. So, this guy's decision to escape can only be seen as foolish. Meanwhile, a very angry crowd began gathering, adding an extra layer of aggression to an already tense situation. Grab his leg. Grab his leg. Stay back. Stay back. Stay back. Just wait. [Music] respect. I remember that. I remember. Shut your Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Doing our job. I don't need this. Jesus. Oh, did I make him run? No. You've got to wonder why residents became so angry at law enforcement for simply doing their jobs. The cops had to tackle Cornelius because he ran despite being under arrest. Who knows? They might have been angry because they knew their crack dealer was not going to be able to supply them anymore. They were wrong, bro. They was wrong. That boy, they was wrong, officer. You know they were wrong. You know they were wrong. You know they was wrong, bro. No one can beat that man, bro. Ain't nobody say watch your back, bro. Y'all ain't have to beat that man, bro. Y'all ain't have to beat that man. That's all I'm saying. Y'all ain't have to beat that man. And then y'all tag him four times, bro. It was a pretty incredible thing to see. These angry citizens tried to turn Cornelius into a victim of racism and police brutality. Did they actually think he should be allowed to sell cocaine in their neighborhood? Did they really think the cops should have just let him run away? [Music] Call it, baby. Yeah, Dave. Good job, Dave. Let's get it, Dave. Good job, Dave. Good job, Dave. You guys want to get on video? Hey. Hey. Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't Don't do it. Chevy. Hey, Rick. It's done, bro. It's done. You watch us do at the station. Y photograph everything good job, Dave. Thank you, Dave. Hey, baby. I saw you. I saw you. Yeah, we already did. We already did. Thank you. Turn the light up. The the ID in the the console is Cornelius. It's him. It's him. It's his car. It's his car, bro. It's solid. What they found in the car was an estimated $40 to $50,000 worth of crack cookies. So, as it turned out, that small amount of crack in the back seat was just the tip of the iceberg. Cornelius Banks was charged with resisting arrest and felony drug trafficking of cocaine. It was later discovered he had a prior prison record for the exact same offense. Our next case transpired in Akran, Ohio on October 18th, 2024. The cops were alerted to a domestic disturbance on a public sidewalk. Um, so I live with him and we were together, right? Okay. And he I don't know. He's very abusive. I'm I'm trying to go home. I just got off of work. Okay. I'm fresh off of work. He came over here. He's He stole the key from me. I can't get in our house. You guys live together? Yes, we live together. Me and my kids. He keep saying me and my kids can't come home. You guys only have one key? Yes. Like he took the key? This gentleman right here? Yes. Okay. And you guys live together though? No, we don't. Yes, we do. Allow her to come. No, he does not. He does not have nothing. I told you. He does not have nothing in his name. It's a It's a woman named Linda Owens. She owns the house. Where do you guys live? Kenwood. Okay. It's nothing in his name. Like nothing is in his name. The woman claimed that she and her boyfriend lived together and that the man was abusive, which is a serious allegation. She also claimed that there was only one key and that the lease was not in his name. There are two sides to every story though and the cops still have to get his side. Hey, how you doing? Marcus Brandon. Okay. That's my ex right there. That's a X. Okay. Do you stay here? No, I I had to get out. Going crazy. I got I got out the car. I saw you got scratched in your face. That happened in the car. Happened right here. I don't want to do nothing about this. Oh, okay. You want to walk me through what happened? Yeah. Um, damn, man. I don't know what she's telling him, but I'd like to hear your sides. Here's here's a let me just give yall a little rec story. Yeah. She's going through some stuff. Her kids her kids is in Cleveland. Okay. She she moved here and actually didn't move in but another spot at a different spot. And uh her her kids went back to Cleveland with her dads. Okay. I told her, "Look, we not go work. We're not we just can't work." Okay. Okay. I moved out of my the old spot over. Yeah. We moved out of there. Okay. Moved in over here. Uh, how long ago was you moved out? I moved I I had this apartment like two months. I just I just moved in probably like two days away. Okay. I It was just sitting there empty cuz the house on Son is um get about to be the owner passed away. Um uh I've been there my mother been there for about I don't like 17 years. My mother passed away too ago. But then I took over. Uh I'm sorry. I'm just You're fine. This is just crazy man. Marcus may not be the greatest storyteller, but he was trying to explain to the officers that his relationship with the woman was over, that he was in the middle of moving. His long-term residence was in probate after the previous owner passed away. She came in for a night. See, last night she went to try she told me she tried to get to the shelter last night. She told me the shelter was full. All right, fine. Come back here and say nice cold outside. Okay. Um her her daughter right now is in Cleveland. Yeah, I just go. Okay. Her daughter right now is in Cleveland. And I'm telling her, look, you got you got places all all her family in Cleveland. All her family's in Cleveland. Like like you can go back to Cleveland Austral. The man was presenting a different perspective to officers. He wanted nothing to do with the woman, but she kept hanging around his residence like a bad odor. It was a messy end to their relationship and he was having a very hard time making a clean break cuz she she's a liar, man. So, I just need to know what's what's going on for what's going on for the day is she's crazy cuz I told her I didn't want her living with me. Okay, go back to Cleveland. I don't want this. I'm going to call the police on you. I'm going to tell them you did this and did that and I'm going to take over the house. Like, this is not your house. You're not on a lease. You ain't got no lease. Are you renting the house? Yes, I'm renting it. And so so you're basically like, "Hey, this isn't working. It's time for you to go." That's it. So then she's like, "No." But then, so I got to get And then you just you just pulled over here instead of going home. I pulled up right here cuz it's closer to get out to get the hell away from So then you took your stuff out of the car, right? And then how did So then what is in this building? I I should look right here. I I know the people in the office cat. So you know the people So you stay here. So you know the workers. So you felt like you know these people and all that stuff, right? I pulled up right here. Okay. So, you did that instead of going to your house and I knew I felt like if I went to the house, she was contra commotion. Okay. So, I came here still. That's why I didn't go to the house. The foggy details of the incident were beginning to get a little clearer. While driving back to Marcus' residence, these two started arguing. He pulled the car over and exited the vehicle. And at that point, she followed him onto the sidewalk. The situation escalated and the cops were called to help. Listen, all this right here. She did this. He got it on video. All this. I'm tired of this, man. What happened? I'm the one. So, what happened with all that? She attacked me right here. She came. She jumped out the car. Yes. Just now. She jumped up. Exactly. She jumped out. I jumped out the car. So, after you got out of the car, she came back. She had She has left. She had left. Came back. Grab my bag over here. I'm like, I I did like, give me my bag. Give me my Give me my stuff. You can't leave my stuff. I'm trying to get it. I'm trying to get my stuff away from her. She attacked me. She She elbowing me. I'm doing like this trying to cover. Same thing happened with the with the case that I'm on probation for right now. Okay. She I'm covering up trying to but she can't hit me. She swinging and you got to I can't do nothing. I mean it's it's How did this happen? She bit me. She hit you there. It looks like she bit me right there. Matter of fact, you got cameras over here. He got a video right there office right there. since she want to go there and get my PO involved and all that. And I'm when you first What did I say you when you first came up? I don't want to do anything about this. The man's claim can be verified because some neighbors took a cell phone video of the altercation. The cops then went into the building to interview witnesses to confirm exactly what happened. He didn't he didn't he didn't Yeah. He didn't hit her back. Not one time. He just want his bag. I don't know what was in the bag. Okay. And then you came out, sir. And and there's another gentleman trying to like Yep. say something to him. So then there's still He just want his bag. Look, watch him. She going to get to popping him in a minute. Oh, she bit him. Yep. That's when Okay. So then he pulled her to the ground and get it. Yep. Then he going he I think that's when he got his bag. With bite marks on the victim and video of the entire altercation, the cops had all the evidence they needed to make an arrest. Everyone's sympathy, including that of the officers and of local neighbors, swung back towards Marcus because he'd been beaten and savagely bitten. To his credit, he never fought back. Go on my record. I was going to school. I under arrested a Mexican pilot. Wow. Give me uh seem sharp dangerous on you. Is this going to mess up my school stuff? Is this going to mess up my school stuff? Can I go to school still? I just wanted to go home. That's it. I wanted to go home. I just wanted to go home. That's it, man. That's all I wanted to do is go home, man. Weapons on you. So, I just wanted to ask You're welcome. Hey, do you want them to move? I got to go back to school. Is it okay if you move your car? My job. I got I had to tow it. Do you want Don't tow my car, please. Okay, then answer me. Do you want him to drive it or the staff? Please, man. I got my whole life ahead of me. Please. Take it back. I I got kids. My kids got to go to school and I I [Music] got Damn, man. It's [Applause] hard. Let me out of here. Let me the out of here. I don't deserve this. I got to go to work. I got kids. I got to go to school. I don't deserve this. One might feel sympathy for the woman, but the fact that she savagely bit Marcus cannot be overlooked. She was later charged with domestic violence. One thing a restaurant never said was, "Eat now and pay tomorrow." But on the 12th of January, 2023 in Castleberry, Florida, the cops got a complaint from a Subway employee about a thief who snatched a sandwich without paying. So, he has a black hoodie on. Yep. With his hat backwards and it has yellow riding in the shape of a circle. He has like gray pants on and black Van shoes. He specifically like was getting irritated with me. I started texting 911 that he was here. Yep. And then did he grab food? He grabbed a sandwich from like I have the surveillance camera and everything that he stole his food. He like reached over the counter and grabbed the food. I can tell you what he got and everything. And I told my employer not to charge him. She's like, "I'm not." Do you want to press charges against him? Yes, I can press the protect. I'll be right back. It wouldn't be hard for the cops to track down the suspected thief since they knew he worked at a car wash directly across the street from Subway. So, the cops made a quick trip to the other side of the road. Hi there. Hi. You have an employee who's wearing a black hoodie today with yellow writing on it. Yeah. Um, can I talk to him? He's on break right now. He may be in McDonald's. McDonald's. Okay. Um Oh, never mind. I think that's three. I've got eyes on. Thank you. He's uh he's evading us. What's going on, bud? Take hands out pockets. Nothing, bro. Stand over there. Quit arguing with me, bro. This is disrespectful. She's being disrespectful, bro. That lady That lady was being disrespectful. So, relax. Figure out what's going on. I can pay for it. Like, that don't mean nothing. Like, it's nothing. But that lady was being disrespectful towards me. That's fine. That's fine. Although he probably didn't realize it, he'd already incriminated himself when he said he could pay for the sandwich. This, of course, is an indirect admission that he hadn't paid for it. Clearly, he's not the brightest crayon in the box. But I could pay I had the money. It's just Okay, look. All right. Can I explain to you? Relax. Relax. Hold on. Hold on. You can explain in just a second. All right. Hey, we got one investigator. Okay. Let's have He can sit down on the chair. Yeah, that's fine. Hold on. I'm not moving away. I'm at work. Like I was at work. I was at my job. Okay. Like the I had I've been having problems with that girl with Sat right here on the chair on the stair thing. That way he's not. All right, ma'am. So, you didn't you didn't pay for the food, right? Okay. But I was going to go tomorrow and pay for it. Like, it wasn't it wasn't like it wasn't like I was going to steal it. I had the money. And I know the manager. I've spoken to the manager before. Okay. And And I have the money. I could pay for it, but I was I was going to tell the manager like I had problems and I was going to go to the manager the next day and tell her, "All right." The man claimed he intended to return to the shop the next day to pay for his meal. But no one in their right mind would believe such a silly claim. This guy was up Nonsense Creek without a paddle. Am I being arrested? Right now, you're being detained. You're not under arrest at the moment. I have I have I have deal with this situation. Okay, so I'm going to put this in perspective. Okay. I I haven't ate since 8:00 in the morning. Okay. I have been busy doing a car wash all day. Previous to that, I had this discussion with this lady that I had I had um I had I had an altercation with her because she was taking her time taking my sandwich. Okay. And I'm like, "Okay, lady." She hit me. She we we we discussed it. The next day, I talked to her boss. I came in the next day, grabbed the sandwich. Fine. Okay. Bomb. Ever since then, she had a personal vendetta against me. There was apparently an ongoing beef between this guy and the Subway employee, but this thing just doesn't add up. How could the man think that stealing from a business she didn't even own was a good way of getting back at her? She wants to irritate me. And the only two places that I go is McDonald's and Subway to eat because they're right there. They're right there. So today I go in there, it's 4:00, I haven't ate. She she making my She She First of all, I go in there. I waited for so long. I'm only have a 30 minute break. I'm getting irritated, sir. And I'm like, 15 minutes. 15 minutes passed by and she's like, "Oh, it's not my problem." So, she's giving me an attitude straight off the bat. So, I So, I thought, "Okay, whatever." I let it go. I let it pass then. Okay. And then she she makes my sandwich. She turns on the oven. Uhhuh. She burns the sandwich. Okay. She burns the sandwich and then like cuz she she runs off somewhere in the back again. And I'm like, "Lady." So I when she comes back I told her I was like listen I only have a 30 minute break and I feel like we already had this discussion already where you understand that I just want my food and pay for it and get out of here the only person and it took 30 minutes so she start yelling at me. Uh so I'm like what's going on? And I'm I'm hungry. I'm irritated. I haven't had nothing to eat. I'm I'm starving. Okay. She she she makes my sandwich again. She does it perfectly this time and put it in my face. put it in my face and just be like, "Oh." And then she she grabs the number, grabs the phone and start calling people about about my the situation. Okay. And but I already spoken to the supervisor about that. I spoken to him and the next day she the that day that I I spoken I went I went the next day and he and she was there. Okay. And and it was everything fine. They made my sandwich. But today when I grabbed the sandwich, she wanted she wanted to give me problems and I'm like, "Lady, this is only a 30 minutes. I'm this is bad customers. You're going off a base of feelings. Okay. She put the sandwich in my face. Curt talking to me all crazy and I'd be like, "Oh, but can I just pay for the sandwich and go and go, please?" And she did not let me go. The man's explanation still didn't make a whole lot of sense. But even if everything he said was true, he still had no justification for stealing from the business. At that point, it was an openandshot case. They have their story and then who you have your story. If you took the sandwich without paying, that's theft. You understand? No, but I was I was going to pay for it. It doesn't matter if you were going to pay for it. I'm a regular, but the simple fact that you took it without payments is the problem we're at right now. You understand, but I you can grab my card and just pay. We cannot we cannot touch your car. I have the money. I have And that's fine that you have the money, but here's the point, man. There's a threshold. And once you hit a certain threshold, you can't go back. So you taking the sandwich and leaving, that's a point of no return. The cops explained things perfectly in such a way that even a child can understand. The intention to pay at a later date or the fact that he could afford to pay for it was in the eyes of the law completely irrelevant. The man's admission that he walked out without paying met the legal threshold for theft. Hey, how you doing? Can you do me a favor? I know you're the owner. Yeah, but can you just Yeah, but I know that there is history between the lady and him. I understand that, but that's what I'm asking. If he if he if he took something without permission and without paying for it, she's a liar. Okay. He's already admitted us. He didn't pay for the item. Well, then that's his problem. I agree with you. We're going to let him talk to Did Did the manager want to talk to him or did you want to talk to him if he because I don't know if he's going to Johnny Pope yet, but if he is, did did you want to talk to him or did the manager want to talk to him? Because the manager said he wanted to talk to him before he left. or did you want to talk? I just want to make sure we get the right person to talk to him because I guess she probably just let him know he still has a job or doesn't have a job. I don't know. But he was also told to leave over there because it was causing a problem. Yeah, but she's only speaking to me. I have gone there. I have gone there to buy a sandwich for myself. She has stopped me to tell him to not go back there. That's not my problem. That's her problem. I got that. That's number one. The fact that she wants to involve my business is the foundation of character towards him. He she had to deal with him when he's there. Well, the thing was he left there and came over here. That's why we came over here because he works here and she knows he works here. It definitely appears that between the subway employee and the car wash guy, there's no love lost. Definitely in this hood, things are not good. But in civil society, these kinds of problems should be ideally resolved without someone breaking the law so flagrantly. You go there also to provoke us. No, I don't. You know better than she is. I don't you know better than she is. Here's the thing, ma'am. She said, "How old are you?" She says, "Well, I need You're 30 trouble, right?" Yes, you do. Yes, you do. He looks for this. I don't know you that well. But his his marbles are not all there, obviously. and and and I was just trying to tell him, he didn't want to hear it, but I don't know you that well, but it seems that your passion, you care for him enough to give him maybe a little bit longer than 30 minutes to go get food if he really needed it. Number one, and number two, you already told him not to go over there, which is a decision he decided to make after number one, he wasn't allowed back over there, and you told him many his marbles are not there. So, he made a decision. McDonald's is right there that he could have walked to. So he made a grown decision to do what he did and I mean I understand you 100%. And with the his attitude has got to change. As the cops did more digging, they found out the man was a serial shoplifter stealing from various locations before. The man was charged with theft and trespassing. Thanks for joining us and we hope you learned something from today's episode. These situations highlight how criminals react when the decisive moment of their arrest has come. But it's highly likely that some of these suspects have learned nothing at all.
