Straight line. Let's go. >> That's That's That's the next step. >> Straight line. Let's go. Careful. Watch the car. >> Walk back to my car. Don't do nothing stupid. >> I'm not doing >> Walk back to my car now. >> Why? Why? Why am I trouble? >> I promise you, you're not closing this door. >> All right. And what you going to do? >> You're not closing this door. >> Relax. You're going to go on handcuffs. >> What? Okay. >> Sit down. Few things are worse than deliberately putting your child's life in danger. But these people did just that. They made a lot of reckless choices and had a lot of alcohol. A trip to jail is imminent when the cops have had enough of DUI parents with kids in the car. Sit down. On June 29th, 2025, the cops were dispatched to a deeply disturbing scene. Some good Samaritans spotted a woman named Emily who was drunk and passed out behind the wheel. Her car was in the middle of the road. And even worse, there was a one-week old baby inside crying as the temperature reached 80°. >> What's up, man? How you doing? >> Good. >> Hello. >> How you doing? >> Good. Who's that? >> My daughter. Does she look like me? >> No. pull her out of the back of that car. >> Okay. >> So, really quick, we were going to take this turn here. >> Okay. >> And she was asleep out of the car with her feet out the window out the window. >> Yeah. The feet were up out of the window. >> He's like, "Are you okay? Are you okay?" And she wasn't waking up. So, we pulled the car and we went and got the baby was crying and she baby out of it. So, he took the baby out the baby. But, um, yeah, she's definitely not. You can take it from here. >> It's lucky they spotted the woman slumped over in her car because who knows what could have happened. With the summer heat bearing down on the car, the temperatures inside were only getting hotter. For a newborn baby, it's an extremely dangerous environment. >> A week old. Got it. >> Is it her baby? >> Yeah. >> She was [screaming] waiting for somebody else. Yeah, just give me a second. I mean, I appreciate you're feeding the baby. Obviously, you know what you're doing. So, >> what's your name? >> What's your name? >> Charlie. >> You have your ID with you? >> You don't have any ID with you? So, you're driving without an ID? >> Yeah, I >> Okay, awesome. >> Emily was clearly out of it. The officer asked the woman if she needed fire rescue, but she didn't appear to be hurt, just drunk. The cops later learned she was just 22 years old, which just made things even more troubling. >> Bottle was with the baby >> in the back seat. The baby was locked in the back. I had to get her out. I don't know if it's a boy or a girl, but 100° in the back of that car. I don't know how long she's been here. >> Oh, the car was off >> just like that with her feet hanging out the window. >> Just go back. Just go over there, sir. >> The cops made a call to the Florida Highway Patrol, which is responsible for investigating traffic crashes and other infractions on the state's highways. Meanwhile, the Good Samaritan watched over the infant, and honestly, they seem far more concerned about the baby than her own mother. >> Baby, so we'll have them come. There'll be two people at a time and ideally we'll try and get a hold of a family member to come and get the the baby. >> Where are you coming back from? >> I ain't coming back from nothing. >> Well, you're driving somewhere. >> So, got to figure out where you were before here. >> So, where were you? I don't know. >> You don't know where you were? >> I don't know. >> You at a restaurant, beach? >> Do you know where you're at? >> Where are you? >> Where are you right now? You know what city you're in? >> Hi, how are you? So, I guess >> I promise you, you're not closing this door. All right. And what you going to do? >> You're going to go on handcuffs. >> Good. Okay. >> Put me in handcuffs. Please put me in handcuffs. >> Please put me in handcuffs. >> During the whole ordeal, she never once asked where her oneweek old baby was, not even once. It was a sad situation and the cops were deciding on whether to call child and family services as that's the agency that investigates child abuse and neglect. family. >> We have no idea. We don't even know her name. >> I can give you >> There's a >> Okay, we need someone to come get your baby. Where's your phone? >> Yeah. >> Where's your cell phone? >> The back doors. >> Can you grab your phone behind the seat? Who can we call a family member? You need to call a family member for your baby. >> Okay. >> Hey, where's your cell phone number? >> As the officers asked about who might pick the baby up, Emily just blankly stared. And when they asked for the woman's phone, she refused to retrieve it from the back seat. The more she sat there blankly staring, the more clear it became that the cops were getting nowhere. >> Try and take custody of the children ourselves. We'll try and get a family member to come out here, but I I need FHP to respond. You know, we're on the way. I'm glad you guys came just to like make sure that the baby's okay. But >> we can hold her unless you want to hold her. [crying] We don't have three of them. This will help you. Maybe this will help you out later. >> But the the burden on you >> natural grandpa right here. >> If she had only been as concerned about her baby as the man was, she would have never put them both in danger. Passing out drunk while caring for a one-week old baby is totally irresponsible, but doing it in a car is just despicable. Sit down. Sit down. >> Sit down. >> All right. The cops eventually arrested her. They'd been patient enough, but she refused to answer questions or listen to instructions. However, even while in handcuffs, she continued trying to fight her way out of things, as if that was going to help at all. Sit down. >> Get in the car. [snorts] [laughter] With Emily detained and in the back of a squad car, the cops took some time to get in touch with her cousin. Soon after, she arrived to pick the baby up. She then dropped a revelation that no one was shocked at, saying that Emily had a drinking problem. She said it was an ongoing problem since Emily was a teenager. >> I understand, but you're not. So we need to at least have her go with you at least. >> Yeah. >> Right. So that because you know the child is hurt, right? But we always like to put the child with a family member before we try this. >> I believe. >> So you're okay. It's your cousin Eric. You okay with your child going with her with your cousin? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> I love you. >> What's your baby's name? >> What's the baby's name? >> So here here's she's under arrest. All right. I'm serene captain. a file. Okay. Um, uh, so at this point she's under arrest for DUI, battery on a law enforcement officer. Obviously, she's extremely intoxicated. She was passed out near drunk in the car and a good Samaritan came here. She had her feet hanging out the window and the hazard lights on in the car. >> Emily's cousin didn't know the baby's name or where they lived. She was hardly a close family member, but it was the best they were going to get. In cases like these, the cops try to place kids with family members rather than placing them in temporary custody. >> Been trying to get her help. She's been >> saw >> for what? Alcohol abuse or drugs or what? >> Alcohol. You name her for many, many years. >> I'm now requesting that you submit to a lawful test of your breath for the purpose of determining it alone. >> No. Okay. If you refuse to take the test I have requested of you, your driving privilege will be suspended for one period of one year [snorts] for first refusal. >> They arrested Emily and she was charged with DUI and battery on law enforcement. She also got a misdemeanor for refusing to submit to a breath test. It was a significant list of lifealtering charges. But the real victim here was a oneweek old baby. On September 16th, 2024, the cops were called after reports of a vehicle driving erratically. It turned out the driver was a mother and her young son was in the back seat and what should have been a simple arrest turned into absolute chaos. >> Just a little bit. Roll down a little bit. >> Okay, it's not good enough. That's enough. >> Wait, wait. Can I come out? >> No. No. If this dog comes out, roll your window up. Roll it up. Just take it down a little bit. I don't want to get bit. >> I'm not going to shoot your dog. Step out. >> I don't Do not let this dog out. >> Can I help out? >> Yep. Shut the door. Do [singing] not let the dog out. >> Trust me. I'm an animal sanctuary non forprofit. I've done this my whole life. >> Okay. >> That's what I do for a living. That's why I asked permission if I can. >> Thank you. Thank you. Here's You got called in as doing 100 down this road. Me? >> Yeah. >> Uh you can ask my boyfriend. He has a speed limit on my head and show you how I was best I was doing. >> Okay. What's Is there a problem? No, I just stepped over because I'm not from here. >> Okay. >> And again, the only reason I asked permission to get out was because my dog, she's trained to protect me because I, like I said, I live in this city. >> The cop directed her to the squad car so he could run her details in the system. Back in the car, the woman's dogs were barking non-stop. With the window partially open, the officer kept his distance because the last thing he needed was for one of the dogs to lunge out and attack him. >> I'm sorry. I've literally never been pulled over. driving since. >> Okay, you got called in. They said it [music] had stickers all over the back. Driving on the shoulder, passing people. That's why I'm here. Otherwise, >> pass one person. So, that's >> You could pat me down. I'm not one of those Black Lives Matter and all that. It's okay, right? >> Yeah, you can have cereal. >> Okay. I was about to say I'll show my hands the whole entire time. >> He then called the officer who' initially reported the incident and filled the officer in on what had happened. He clocked the driver on the shoulder at 100 mph. Then she veered across several lanes before eventually stopping and stumbling out of the car. >> She almost went head on with another car. I'm just trying to make sure nobody gets killed. >> So here's what I got going on here. This is my concern. I smell something sweet. Have you been drinking today? >> Sweet. >> Yeah. Have you been drinking today? >> No, sir. I don't drink. >> You don't drink? >> No, I can smell I have a medical card, too. Even >> that doesn't make it legal to drive. >> No, I know it's federally illegal. I know, sir. I'm just saying like you're asking what I'm doing. So here So here >> I smoked at 8 a.m. Exactly. >> All right. So here's what I'd like to do. I'd like to put you through through the field sobriety test >> field to to decide whether you're not. >> Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Before you do that, I can't walk a straight line. But I can do it for y'all. But King County did they arrested me and then >> they got in trouble. So I do want to let y'all is it okay that I take my flip flops off? And >> I prefer that you finish smoking. Here's what I'm offering, man. You can't do all that. Let me just check your eyes and then I'll offer you a portable breath test. If you have not been drinking, you below zero, right? >> All right, that's cool. >> Okay. >> I'm not going to lie. Like, I've never been >> ever in my life. This is actually >> You just said you got pulled over by James County. >> J, not Kendall. I've been living here for 2 years. >> Okay, here's what I need you to do. Okay, turn your back to my squad car. >> Turn your back to my squad car. Yes. >> Okay, back here. Come here. Come here, ma'am. Just back up. Okay. Put your heels and toes together. Arms on your side. Just like this. >> She gave so many excuses that she got caught in a lie. But when confronted about it, she tried to play dumb, but it clearly didn't work. Something was clearly off with the woman and the cop had to find out what it was. >> Last time I had the cop experience was in King County and they took my son from me. >> I don't want to take your son. That's not what I'm here for. But but here's the deal, okay? If [snorts] we don't move forward with this, then you're you're gonna >> automatically. I know how it goes. >> No, no, no. I mean, you you can It's 3:30. Okay. I don't want to be standing on the side of the road with you. Okay. This needs We need to get this buttoned up. >> All right. What do you >> Okay. So, I need to make sure that you're not there. That's all. Put your arms out. >> That's what I'm saying. >> I'm not asking you to move. I'm just asking you to stand. So, you said you can't move and or you can't walk and you can't stand, right? >> No. I never once said that. I said my speech is sounding. Okay. So, you can walk a straight line? >> Yeah. Do you want me to walk a straight line? But I said with flip flops that I am a hillbilly and that I've only walked straight line with like >> Do you have Do you have a problem taking a PBT? >> No. I >> take Take a deep breath and take a PBT. >> Blow hard for 4 seconds. Take a deep breath. Take a deep breath. Take a deep breath. >> Like suck it. >> Yep. Yep. And blow hard for 4 seconds. Go blow. Blow. Blow. Blow. Listen. Listen. >> I am blowing. >> Listen. Yes. Just like >> I was blowing, sir. I was I was >> Take a deep breath. Take a deep breath. Blow heart. 4 seconds. >> Okay. I'm sorry. >> Take a deep breath. Blow heart. 4 seconds. Blow. Blow. More. More. More. More. More. More. More. More. Okay. All right. Here's the deal. Okay. I've never seen such bad nastagness. Okay. What that is is the involuntary jerking of the eyes. It's an indicator of a high level alcohol or depression. Okay. >> She insisted she hadn't been drinking, but the woman's eyes were telling a different story. They were darting all over the place, betraying her lousy attempt at acting sober. On top of that, she had countless excuses for why she couldn't walk in a straight line. >> So that if you would just do this and it would show zeros, then I would know that there's something more going on. You're not blowing as I'm instructed. >> I'm going to let you know right now, it's not going to show zeros because I have teeth. >> That doesn't That's not >> It does. It does. Sorry. King County got in charge and in trouble in the King County I can you y'all can look it up. >> You know how to do that? >> I'll let you do it. I will do exactly what he said. >> Do this and then we'll let you talk. Okay. >> Do you go deep? >> Shut up. >> Sir, I'm going to give you the opportunity to be straight with me. Okay. Have you been drinking today? >> No. >> No. >> I told you when I was drinking >> when I was born. >> I had a smoke syringe and I had literally one shot of >> Okay. So, you did have a shot. You you told me to smoke cannabis this morning. >> It's just like this stuff makes me >> Yeah. Have you been drinking today? >> No, sir. I don't drink. >> You don't drink? >> No, I just I smoke weed. >> Every next sentence was a contradiction of her last one. At first, she said she hadn't been drinking, then admitted to taking a shot at about 8:00 a.m. Confirming their suspicions, the cops found an open bottle of vodka in the car, and she tried to claim it was her boyfriend's. >> Do you want to do any more fields? You said you can't walk. Said, I mean, I'm not going to ask you to walk. You're just going to arrest me. It sounds like y'all arrest me. >> Well, I I don't think you're being completely truthful with us. >> All right. Be like >> All right. You're unrest. You >> This is what I mean. Like you guys did this last time. You did this last time. You did this last time. >> Oh no. I can't even get a picture of this. >> This is what you guys did last time. I didn't mean to spill. >> Calm down. Stop. Stop or this is not going to go the way you want it to. Do you understand? Calm down. I understand that. Do you want us to take care of your son or your dogs? Then stop. >> Quit walking out of traffic. Calm down. >> The cops explained to the woman that if she couldn't call a family member to come and pick her child up, they'd have to call child and family services. In that case, they'd also be calling animal control to come and get her dog. As you might expect, she didn't take the information too well. >> Animal control off. >> Then my dog will get shot. Hey, >> it's giving you >> I'm trying to help you, but you just won't calm down. Stop it. >> Please. >> Then stop talking. >> That's what you all did last time, though. >> Stop talking. >> Y'all put me in hiccups last time and then you all got put on >> police. I've done this last time with King County and you all had to apologize. I look like a drunk person, but I'm just stupid. I'm sorry. And you all had to write an apology last time. Mother, stop this. Get up there and be an adult and have a seat. >> The cops tried to get her mother's details so she could come and pick her grandson up, but the woman wouldn't tell them. Her refusal wasn't helping things, and instead of a handoff to family, her son would be taken into protective custody. >> God, you deserve it. I'm not like that. I've always been cool with cops. I've always been >> We're trying to get Here's what's going to happen. Listen to me. >> I've always been a bridge. >> Okay, I'm calling DCFS then. That's one thing. Then tell us your mom's name. Please God, >> you're going to taser me. Get in. >> I don't want to do this. >> You're going to taser me? Really? >> Listen, this prick is going to taser me. You're going to get your license removed like the last movie. >> I'm getting drunk and smelling. >> Really? That's exactly. Wow. That's going to look good. looking forward to sit down. >> I'm going to pick you up like a toddler and put you in there. >> All right, go ahead, y'all. >> Pick her up. >> All right, let's do this. >> You're going to >> You're going to catch a felony. >> They eventually got her in the patrol car, but that didn't calm things down. As a matter of fact, she just got angrier. It was like a switch that was flicked the moment she realized she was in real trouble. At that point, she was becoming a total nightmare. >> Leave my son alive. [screaming] Leave my son. [screaming] >> [screaming] >> My son alone. My son. >> Just keep lucky I don't rip it. Just pulled out of the cover. Just [music] shove it back in there. >> Don't do that. >> Yeah, you're lucky I don't cuz I was a mechanic. I am. That's what I do for a living. So, you're lucky I didn't actually. >> You're a little You know that? >> Why are you so angry now? >> What do you mean? >> She was charged with child endangerment and DUI. Her brother arrived to take custody of her son, but he refused to take the dogs. When she was tested at the station, her blood alcohol content was.1 191, more than twice the legal limit. On October 31st, 2025, the cops got a call from a school. A clearly intoxicated father was trying to pick up his child. When staff told the man that his wife had already picked the child up, he got angry and stormed off. With a description in hand, the cops began to search for him. >> Hey, sir. Sorry. >> You want to tell me what's going on or why? alcohol coming off your breath and there's a child in the car. >> Ma'am, I will ask you. >> That's not what I asked you. I'm not asking you where you came from. I'm asking you why I smell alcohol on your breath and you have a child in the car. >> Step out, please. The officer asked the suspect, Jason, if he had any history of DUIs. He quickly denied it, but then admitted that 5 years ago he'd been stopped while on Xanax. According to him, it didn't result in a DUI charge, but the cop still ran his details through the system. >> They do have a prior DUI. >> I do not. I've been >> refusal to submit >> to a breath sample. >> So, what's with the lying? >> So, when I asked you if you had a DUI before, you the answer should have been yes. Correct. >> I was not charged with a not convicted of it. I'm sorry. >> Do you have somebody who can come get him? >> Why don't you make that phone call right now while we're waiting for the other deputy get here cuz you are not driving that child. Get your phone. >> Okay. >> Excuse me. Okay. >> Jason's 5-year-old son had been sitting in the back seat the whole time. So, he not only tried to pick his child up while drunk, he'd also driven drunk with his other child. He called his wife to come pick his son up, then handed his phone to the cop. >> Okay. This is Deputy Rain at the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. I'm out with your husband and he is too impaired to be driving and he has uh your child in the car. Are you able to come get him? >> Uh, wait. He now, man. >> Huh? >> We on Hang on one second. I'm sorry. On three. Go ahead. >> We are at Town Center Boulevard and Hospital Drive on three. Go ahead. >> Uh, you mean near the Houston Hotel? Well, I'm sorry. What did you say, ma'am? I had somebody else talking to me. >> Is it Is it near the Hon Hotel? >> Yes. You go. If you're If you're going north on Town Center, we're on the left hand side. >> But what happened, ma'am? He he what? >> He's impaired. He's been drinking. And your son is in the car with him. >> Uh, yes, ma'am. I will call now, ma'am. >> All right. Thank you very much. When she got on the phone, his wife didn't sound shocked. She calmly told the officer she was on her way and that she'd be there in 15 minutes. Meanwhile, Jason kept trying to justify things and he kept talking in circles as the reality of things dawned on him. Backup arrived shortly after. >> I have been their primary driver. Picked him up until this year. My wife finally got her license. I picked him up almost every day. Sometimes prom picks them up. And so today I was at home. Prom. >> Who asked? >> So she asked you. How did she ask you? >> Did she ask you via text or did she call you >> sometimes? You know, >> today. >> Sometime. Okay. >> Today. >> Today. No. Did she expect me to get >> I asked you if she asked you if she asked you to pick him up via text or on the phone? And you said no. >> The officer searched the man's car, determined to confirm what the staff had reported. During their call with police, they said they'd spotted open alcohol containers in his car. And given the man's behavior, it wasn't hard to believe. Still though, the officer had to see it for herself. >> My life doesn't end. Sometimes she's not so busy. She said, "Okay, I can pick you up. >> Where's the bottles?" >> No, just tell me. >> Another question. >> Back up. Back up. >> Some Some of those caps. >> Take a step back. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Another step back, please. It's just a curiosity question because >> it's it doesn't it doesn't weigh into what happens with this investigation? >> No. >> Where's the other Where's the other two bottles? >> I don't have other two bottles. anywhere you want. >> I'm not drinking all day. >> I was working. We got kids. >> Mhm. >> I had a little bit of wine >> and I'm going home. >> Jason eventually admitted drinking wine before he got behind the wheel. He seriously thought it was acceptable to be drinking, take his 5-year-old son in the car, and then pick up his other child, all while impaired. As the pieces fell into place, the male officer realized that he'd dealt with Jason before. This the same one that >> I came to your house cuz the kids were left and brought him. >> Yep. Some time ago, you fell asleep or something. Couldn't wake back up and go. Yeah, I knew I recognized you somewhere. Yeah, that wasn't good either. >> It's not. I'm just saying. I mean, when she comes crying and I get I get this back out your house and she doesn't know where our kids are, right? >> It's not against the wall. That's what he did. >> Yeah, she know where they're at. Excuse me, please. >> I took it. >> Yeah, I'm glad they got back. >> As things turned out, it wasn't the man's first instance of bad parenting. Apparently, in another incident, Jason had fallen asleep and failed to pick his kids up from karate, and his wife was absolutely frantic. The neighbors even went to his house to try and wake him up. Finally, his wife arrived. >> I took him I I took him to Listen, >> they don't even >> Sorry. You know what I'm talking about. I called you on the phone and you didn't tell me you were picking him up. I was there 20 minutes. >> It was longer than It was longer than 20 minutes. >> I did not yell at her. I asked her. I said, "Please, where are my children?" >> Can we get your son out of here? You guys can talk about that. >> Yeah. Looking disappointed with her husband, she picked her son up and left. Meanwhile, another officer arrived to do a field sobriety test. He'd already admitted to drinking, but they had to be certain he was over the limit before jailing him for DUI. >> Do you see the tip of my pen? >> Do you see the tip of my pen? >> Yes. >> Okay, just go ahead and reach out and touch it for me. >> Fantastic. All right, what I would like you to do is I just want you to follow this with your eyes and your eyes only. Okay? I don't want you to move your head. All right. Can you try to open your eyes up a little bit more for me? Thank you very much. Didn't count out loud. Not touching the hell. Didn't count out loud. >> 2100. >> I explain the instructions twice now. The officer instructed the man to count to 1,00 and then stop when told. She explained it to him twice, yet he still couldn't follow the directions properly. Then when they asked him to stand on one foot, he started swaying and stumbling, further proving the point that he wasn't fit to drive. Okay. >> You will be placed under arrest for the UI. Okay. Go ahead and put your hands behind your back, palms together. Palms together, please. It'll make it more comfortable for you. >> You arrested me for that reason. Why did I do that wrong? >> You put your butt in first. You swing around. A little hole. If you go down lower, there's a little slot there. You be a little more comfortable. Okay. >> They arrested the man and he was taken to jail. And after giving them a breath sample, they registered 103 and 106. It was further proof that he was significantly intoxicated and well over the legal limit. He was charged with DUI and endangering a child. On the 8th of October 2025, the cop saw a woman driving incredibly erratically and she nearly drove a deputy off the road. When she was questioned, she acted defensive and tried to paint herself as the victim. But the real victim was the woman's young daughter who was strapped in the back seat. >> Where you come from? >> I went to Stockton and picked up a truck. Oh, and she's just come back for tumbling. >> Who's coming back? >> My daughter. >> Your daughter. Do you have your license proof of insurance? >> Hi. How are you doing? >> Good. How was tumbling? It was good. Also, can you turn off the car for me? >> Yeah. >> All right. I wish I could I wish I could I wish I wish I could pull up the video. I was going on Town Line and you know that that hill right here where it drops and like you're in between those trees, dude. She was in my lane like right here. I had to come off the road. She I can smell it. >> You smell it? >> I can smell it. Did you ask her? >> She has a kid. I have not asked. She has a kid with her. I asked her where she's coming from. She said stop. I'm like okay. And she said she picked up her kid from tumbling and I'm like okay. So and then she brought up how she has a tire in the car and then she is saying that she's coming from Milligville. Dude, her story is like mixing up. She smoke if you she has a kid in the car. So, like this is like I was like, "What? I almost went off the road." >> Okay. >> The officer explained to the woman that while coming the other way, she'd almost driven him off the road. Her excuse, she said the road was too narrow, but he could smell alcohol on her breath and her speech was slurred, too. Telltale signs that she was under the influence. >> All right. Um, ma'am, can can I ask you, have you had any alcoholic beverages tonight? >> No. >> No, you haven't. >> No. >> Can I put you through a few tests to make sure you're good to drive? >> No, I'm not doing that. You're not doing that. >> No. What are you doing? >> Well, you ma'am, >> the road is very narrow. >> No, no one can. It's not ma'am. I I went in the grass to to >> Are you serious? >> Yeah. >> Can I come, Mommy? >> No, baby. Stay there. >> Hold on. Stay there. >> Plus, I see you got list and stuff in there, so you're trying to like cover it up. I don't I'm just going to take you through a couple tests to make sure you're okay to drive, especially for for your daughter. I want everyone getting home safe. Okay. >> Awesome. >> Hearing her daughter ask if she could go with her was just heartbreaking. In the center console of the vehicle, the cops saw a bottle of mouthwash like she'd been trying to cover up the smell of alcohol. >> All right, come over here. >> I'm not I'm not. >> Can you please come over here? >> No, I'm not. >> So, here's the deal. He's >> I know what I know. You guys can do whatever you want. >> We've got He said he's got an order of alcoholic beverage. So, at this point, the tests are for your benefit. If you don't believe that you're impaired, this is your chance to prove that to us that you're not impaired. >> Know what you're doing and know >> because otherwise he's just going to have to place you under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. >> Okay, that's fine. Call my husband. >> We don't need to call your husband right now. This is you. He has you driving. >> Well, I'm not having her sit here with you guys. >> Okay, we'll cross that bridge when we get there. We got to make sure you're good to drive. >> I'm not doing that. >> No, no, no, man. husband. Ma'am, no. >> I'm calling my husband. >> No, ma'am. Please step this way. Ma'am, >> don't do this to my dog. >> Ma'am, he's going to have to listen. I want I'm going to place you under arrest. Don't follow. >> I'm calling my husband. >> I want to run you through tests for your daughter to make sure I'm not doing it. I will call my husband. >> Ma'am, no. Not at this time, >> ma'am. I don't want to do that in front of your daughter. She kept insisting she had to call her husband, but what she thought he might possibly do wasn't clear. She was the one called drunk driving, not him. Every time she refused to cooperate just made things worse. >> Ma'am, do not if you reach in your car, I will place you under arrest. >> Call me then grab him my phone. >> No, I want to run you through test first, then you >> No, you're not. You're not. >> Yes. >> And that's it. You're under arrest. You want to face your door? >> Yes. >> No. Yes. Step back. So, we have >> Don't do this to my daughter. Her mother just died last year. >> I am sorry to hear that. >> Don't start. >> Do what we have to do. >> Please work. >> Oh, I know how this is. I've been married to two cops. >> Step this way. Please. Please. I do not want to do this in front of your dog. >> Don't touch me, ma'am. >> Don't do this. >> I'm asking you to not touch me. >> Okay. Keep Keep walking this way. >> Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Stop. No. No. Stop. You're not doing this to my daughter. >> Please. Turn around. >> You are not. >> Turn around. It's okay. >> It's okay. Turn around. >> No, it's not okay. >> Turn around. >> She's Her mother died last year. >> Using the child's deceased mother as an excuse right in front of her was clearly a new low. Then she had the nerve to tell the cops they couldn't quote do this to her daughter. Well, maybe she should have been thinking about her daughter before getting hammered in driving. >> Can you call me husband? >> Are you under arresting us? >> No. Honey. Honey. >> Honey. Hold on. >> Sweet. >> We're not going to leave you. We're not We're not leaving. >> Listen. >> Listen. >> Get my phone. >> Get my phone. Call daddy. >> Yeah. >> It's okay. We just got to do some paperwork. That's all it is. >> Stop. Why is it so tight? [music] >> Loosen up. Can you stop for a minute? Can you stop for a minute and be a dad? >> No. >> Can you stop? >> I [music] cannot. >> Can you stop? >> I gave you enough chances. Come on. >> Listen to me. My daughter just lost her mother a year and a half ago and she died of cancer in the house. That kid is the only thing I know. >> I understand. >> She is going to freak out. >> She kept using her daughter's trauma to try and get out of trouble. If anything, it was her mother's reaction that made the whole situation scary for the girl. And in the middle of everything, she also told the cops that she was carrying two knives. >> Do you know how traumatizing this is for her? >> Oh, I I know. I trust me, I know. And I don't. Yes, I did. Yes, I did. >> She lost her mother. >> I [music] understand that. You told me that. >> You're aing punk. >> How am I a punk? >> You're young. >> I Okay. And that that makes me a punk. And you said you have another knife on you. >> Yeah. Right in my Let me talk [music] to my daughter first. Please. >> Can I talk to my daughter? >> Sit in the car. Get in the car. >> My daughter lost her mind. >> I understand. But you you you could have her back there. >> Can I please talk to her >> later? Please sit in the car. >> I need to call my husband. Okay, there'll be plenty of time to do that at the gym. >> Can we just stay until you >> What the are you guys doing to her? >> We're bringing her back to the sheriff's office. >> We We're not leaving. I don't want to. >> They arrested the woman and she was charged with child endangerment, reckless driving, driving under the influence, and obstruction of justice. On the 5th of September 2025 in Boon Beach, Florida, the cops were called after a woman slammed into a school bus and badly smashed the side of her car. The driver was a woman named Megan Champion and in the passenger seat was her 11-year-old daughter. >> What happened? >> Um, I was crossing over and >> you're coming on this road. You were crossing this. >> You were going to go in here? >> Yes. Okay. >> All right. And >> what color was your light? >> Green. All right. Do you um did you already give someone your driver's license and stuff or No. Okay. Um >> All right. Give me give me one second. Okay. >> The woman handed over her ID and the cops found out that at the time of the crash, the 38-year-old woman was dropping off her child. The cops approached a woman who' witnessed the whole incident trying to find out what had happened. >> So, I was right behind her. >> Okay. Okay. So, we're coming. There's a bunch of cars. Everyone's going like really slow and they're all like trying to get around her and she's like kind of swerving lanes and then I was like man is there I literally at one point was like is this a kid driving because this was like like ridiculous and then all of a sudden like I'm coming up I live in here so I'm trying to turn in here but I'm waiting. >> Which lane was she in between this one and this one was like she was l Yeah. And then the cars kept trying to go around her and then by the time we got here I was the last one behind her and I was like well I have to turn so I'm just waiting for her to get out of the way. She comes into this lane like she's like, "Oh, like I don't need to go here." Like she's going to go straight. So I was like, "Oh, cool. Maybe she's going to go that way and go that way, whatever." But she came up this way and then she just turned left like a sharp left and tried to like gun it, but he was already halfway through. She t-boned into half of him. He was he was already halfway through the intersection. >> EMS services had already been called. Luckily, at the time of the crash, the only person in the bus was the driver, and they'd already left the scene uninjured. After talking to the witness, the cops went back to Megan to get her side of the story. The paramedics arrived quickly and they first checked on the little girl before assessing Megan. >> Do you know? Do you remember what happened at all? >> Yes. >> So, what happened? >> Uh, I had an accident. >> Yeah. How did that happen? >> Huh? >> I crossed over. >> Okay. Why Why did you cross over? Are you going somewhere around here or >> Yes. Which direction you >> boyfriend's house? >> Okay. All right. Does he live in here? >> Yes. >> Okay. Ma'am, >> can you step out for a second? >> Because we got to car. Okay. >> So, I'll help you. >> Go ahead. I'll hold this for you. Take a picture. >> Go ahead and I'll hold it for you. >> All right. Let's walk back this way. Okay. Sit right here. You can sit right here. Fortunately, neither had been injured in the crash, but as the officer spoke with her, the smell of alcohol on her breath was unmistakable. >> So, Megan, this is what's going to happen right now. I'm already done conducting the traffic investigation. Now, the crash investigation. Now, I'm moving on to um I have suspicion that you've been um you're under the influence or something. So, now I have to I have to let you know. I >> I am 38. >> Okay. What's your address? >> Uh 38. >> Sorry. Take your time. >> Sorry. Why are you sorry you for >> talk to me? I >> did you take anything? >> No. >> What? What? Cuz I can tell. Ma'am, we can tell that. >> No. No. I haven't >> When was the last time you had a drink? >> I haven't taken anything. >> Okay. What? I'm talking about alcohol. No, I haven't taken anything. >> She could deny it all she wanted, but it was clear she'd been drinking. The smell was undeniable, and she couldn't even remember her own address. >> When was the last time you had a drink? >> Uh, like 4 days ago. >> 4 days ago. >> Yes. >> Where were you coming from? could have not I was picking up my kid and I have not taken anything and I I am so sorry. The reason we we're asking these questions, man, because >> I understand >> you've given us all the indicating that you are under very you're driving your driving um pattern when you driving over what I put into two people that saw you driving and you passed into the bus. Not only that, I'm just driven you right now. You are extremely likely about to fall asleep. The cops are trying to determine if she'd hit her head in the crash because it might explain her odd behavior and her inability to answer such basic questions. They carefully check the woman for bumps and bruises or any other signs of injury. >> Do you know Do you know what today's date is? >> Uh September 4th. >> You know what year it is? >> 2025. >> Who's the president? >> Four. >> Oh. >> Yeah. See, you're you're you're not even you're having a hard time even answering simple questions. >> Who's the president? >> I >> not Trump. >> Okay. >> All right. >> That was a joke. >> This really isn't the kind of joke. >> Would you be willing to do a field sobriety uh exercise? Um just >> so we can cuz we believe that you under the influence of Would you be willing to do some field exercise? Using field sobriety exercises, they could check, of course, whether she was actually sober, like she insisted. Though, by that point, it was fairly obvious she wasn't. But the cops had to give her a chance to prove otherwise. >> We're not going to do it here. >> Yes, we are. >> No, >> we can't do it. >> No. >> You don't want to do it? >> No. >> But would you like to do it? >> Where's the straight line? >> Don't worry about that. We'll get to that. >> No. Careful. There's >> Hold on. Don't go in the truck. Okay. >> Like >> where's straight line? >> We have We have a tape. We're going to put a tape on the ground for the straight line. >> You got to You got to hold on. Where you going? Come over here. >> No. >> Okay. >> Straight line. Let's go. >> That's That's That's the next step. >> Straight line. Let's go. >> Careful. Watch the car. The car. Come over here. >> Oh my god. >> Let's move over here. Let's move over here. Let's move over here. >> No. Can you take my car? over here. >> Stop, >> bro. >> Straight line. >> Stop. >> Straight line. >> Hold on. Hold on. >> Oh my god. >> We're done. >> She was rambling to the cops, ignoring their instructions, and refusing to cooperate. The cops eventually reached their limit and arrested her. Before taking her to jail, she'd be transferred to the hospital to be further evaluated. >> Relax. >> No you. >> All right. >> Where the >> straight line? Where the is the straight line? >> Where's the straight line? Make sure there's not anything in the park. Oh, you >> Oh, you want to fill me up? You want to fill me up? >> Have a seat, man. >> Good. >> Have a seat. >> Have a seat. Have a seat. Come on, >> Megan. >> Have a seat. >> Just have a seat. >> Have a seat. >> Have a seat. >> Why? >> Just have a seat. >> Hawaii. >> Hawaii. >> Have a seat. You're going to hurt yourself. Have a seat. >> Have a seat. Why? >> Just stop resisting. Just You're going to hurt yourself. Why? >> The cop's body cam footage clearly showed Megan lunging forward and trying to bite him. In the end, she was charged with DUI with property damage and also DUI with a person under 18 in the vehicle. She plead not guilty, but she's expected to return to court. On the 5th of March, 2025 in New Mexico, the cops got a report that a vehicle had crashed into a wall. The cops talked to witnesses who said an elderly woman had been driving erratically, had struck a brick wall, and then got out of the vehicle with a young child. >> I'm sitting here and her grandson get out, and she just tumbled and >> she fell down. >> She fell. Then she then I jumped out to see if she needed help. I came out said, "Hey, I'm going to help you." She goes, "No, no, no, no. I got it." So then it took about a few minutes to get up. She got on the feet again, got her bearings. Boom. Fell down again. Hello, young lady. How are you? >> Well, I'm fine, sir. How are you? >> Pretty good. You know why I'm here? >> Well, I think you think I was drinking today. >> I didn't say that. Well, I mean, I just said it because I fell out in the parking lot. >> Yeah. There's some issues going on here. [music] >> But I I'm fine now. >> You're fine now? >> Yes, sir. >> Tell me about what happened when you drove in. >> Well, I was fine. I was looking for a parking lot and a space and I found one and I got out and then I lost my balance. >> Okay. Do you know you hit the wall with your car? >> Do I knew? Do I know? >> Do you know that you hit the wall with your car? >> Oh, no. I I know. Like you don't. >> Yeah. Your car is right up against the wall. >> Oh, really? Was it? >> No, I did not. >> The grandmother, Donna, had no idea she'd driven straight into a wall. How drunk do you have to be to not even realize you crashed your car, let alone smashed it straight into a brick wall? >> Who did you take here today? >> This is my grandson. >> Grandson? >> Yeah. Okay. Is he getting ready to go in there? >> Yeah, he's going to go for his gym lesson. >> Okay. Are you hurt at all? >> Pardon me. >> Are you hurt at all? >> Are me? Am I a criminal? >> Are you Are you hurt? >> Oh, no. I'm not hurt. >> Okay. Don't need an ambulance. >> Is that your drink right there? >> Pardon me. >> Is that your drink? >> Is this yours? So, why do we have Opra container in here with all these children around? >> Well, that's obviously not the right thing to do. >> No. >> How old are you? >> I'm 73. >> Yeah, you should definitely go back. >> Oh, sir. >> Okay. How much have you had to drink today? >> Yeah, probably 4 ounces >> of what? >> Uh, Canadian Mist. >> Canadian Mist is a whiskey with a 40% alcohol content, and it's far too strong for anyone who's driving. Donna told the cop that the boy's mother was at work while his other mom was at home. They eventually took her outside to do some field sobriety tests. >> Just follow my finger with just your eyes. 145 that we ran on this call. >> Stay on here with it with just your eyes. There you go. >> One, two, three, four. I don't know what the counts are here. >> I don't know if that was right or not. >> We're good. >> She struggled through the field sobriety test right from the start, but she kept moving her head around instead of just following the officer's finger with her eyes. She explained to the cops that she lived with her grandson and his two moms, her daughter and her wife. >> The biological mom is at work at Maralo County. The other mom, my daughter, >> your daughter? >> Yeah, my daughter uh is at home right now because she is disabled. >> She's disabled, so she can't drive. >> That's correct. >> Okay. So, the one that's in Bernal Leo, >> call her. >> Okay. What do you want me to say to her? >> That she needs to come pick up her do her son. >> Donna clearly wasn't fit to be driving, especially with her grandchild in the car. She'd already crashed into a wall, stumbled twice, and admitted to drinking whiskey. Her sobriety test just confirmed it. In addition, inside the woman's vehicle, they saw an open container of alcohol. You know what I'm going to have to do is go over here in the shade so I can see what I'm doing. Do >> you mind if I look and see what happened here? >> Nope. >> I want you to call Nope. Nope. Come here. Come here. Come here. >> Just call this young lady to come pick this child up, please. >> When the boy's mom didn't answer, Donna left a voicemail. She said she was at the gym and needed her to come pick the boy up. She apologized and said she'd hit a wall, but what she failed to mention was the alcohol. >> You're drinking and driving today. >> That's true. >> Okay. So, I have no other course of action but to arrest you. Okay. That's why I'm asking all these questions about the child and making sure that we're going to be able to get somebody here to pick the child up. >> I understand. >> Okay. Just put your hands to your front like this. >> I'll grab that. Come on over here with me. We're going to get on. I'll I'll grab that. I'll grab it, ma'am. Ma'am, I'll grab it. I'll grab it. Come on over here. >> Who is going to interface with my grand? >> That's why we have another officer coming over here right now. >> Uh, well, what should I do with this? >> I'm I'm going to get that. I just need you to come over here and get in the car for me. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Throughout the entire ordeal, she'd been calm and cooperative, but nothing changed the fact that she'd broken the law and put her grandson's life at risk. After a little more research, the cop found out she'd been arrested before for domestic violence. Do you know what the the legal per se limit is in New Mexico? >> The legal what? >> Perc limit is >> I'm sorry. Legal per what? >> The legal per se limit. Do you know what that is? >> Legal per sale. >> Legal per se limit. >> Legal >> where you're found to be where you're where they believe that you're found to be intoxicated. >> I I don't >> It's a 08. >> Uhhuh. So you're at a 0.1 and a 09. >> Uh-huh. >> Okay. So you're over the legal limit. That's why you are here. >> So 08 is illegal. >> Is I'm sorry. >> You're over. You're just over it. Donna was charged with DUI and for driving while intoxicated with a minor in the vehicle. At the station, Donna's breath test came back at 0.01 over the legal limit. Given her age and her medical issues, she wasn't kept in custody. Eventually, her daughter-in-law came by to pick her up. On the 8th of May, 2025, the cops conducted a traffic stop after spotting a vehicle driving erratically. After stopping the vehicle, the officer approached the driver and noticed there were three young kids in the back seat. >> Put your hands out the window now. Put your hands out the window. I'm not playing with you. Why you driving like an as Don't shake your head at me doing 6570 down this road. Then you just pull that stop sign spinning tires. >> I don't I don't mean to. No, sir. >> What are you doing? >> I don't. >> Turn the truck off. >> Get out of the car. Get out of the car now. Walk back to my car. Don't do nothing stupid. >> I'm not doing >> Walk back to my car now. >> Why? Why? Why am I in trouble? >> 414 422. >> Walk back to my car now. >> Yes, sir. >> Why am I trouble? >> Put your hands on the hood of my car. >> Yes, sir. >> Spread your feet. >> Why am I trouble? >> I just told you I watched you about drive off the road. You blew down this road 70 mph in a 35. Then you pull off a Cooper and Mary. Don't Don't shake your head. >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> Don't shake your head. >> Drunk, dude. >> I'm not drunk. >> Yeah. Yes, you are. You're not. We'll find out here in a minute. >> The driver, Mason, tried to say he wasn't drunk, but as he was stumbling out of his truck, a bottle of alcohol fell out and smashed on the ground. If it weren't so tragic for the kids involved, the irony here would actually be quite comical. At that point, the officer called for backup. >> Well, what's the glass that just fell and hit the floor right there? How your feet? >> Never 70. >> Okay. What's that glass that just fell hit the floor? >> That's a That's a glass from my house. >> What do you mean? >> You leak alcohol. You're slurring your words. Let go of my car. You can't even stand up straight [music] on your own. >> Look at you. You pissed your pants. >> No, sir. This is drink. >> Okay. What kind of drink? >> Water. But if you [snorts] [screaming] >> I pissed my pants. Really? It >> sure looks like it. No, sir. I didn't piss on my pants. Really? I pissed my pants? >> Well, when people are drunk and they don't know it, they piss their pants. It happens all the time. >> Piss my pants. Okay. >> Wow. Okay. >> You should be ashamed of yourself. >> I live right here. >> I don't care where you live. You're risking their life driving like that. >> Unbelievable. >> I don't understand what I did. I apologize for that. >> If you don't understand what you did, that's the problem. >> That's the problem. >> If you If you're telling me you don't know what you did, that's the problem. And you're driving like that car. Yeah. Those are kids. Young are kids. going towards my house >> and going back that way at 100 miles an hour living >> 100 miles an hour. Dude, I was going 100. >> You were way too fast. >> You are insane, bro. If you think I was going 100, you were insane. I'm sorry. Look, >> when did you start service, >> buddy? I've been here a long time. This ain't my first day. >> Listen, I'm not arguing. >> No way. I was doing 100. No, sir. No, sir. I was up. So, you're full. The officer had been parked by the side of the road, dealing with a separate incident involving three young juveniles when Jason flew by in his truck driving way over the speed limit. The officer then talked to the three kids who were in the back of the truck. >> How's it going? Sorry everybody's being a maniac. >> Yeah, >> you know. Did you guys just drive down that way and then you came back this way? >> Yeah, you went by Tom's. You guys saw me over there. [screaming] >> Listen, I apologize. I didn't >> I You don't got to apologize to me. I'm more pissed [music] off that you're not coherent enough to drive your vehicle. >> I am out of my to my house. Yes, sir. I am. >> So, tell me why you're say drunk and he was just driving really fast up and down this road and told him to stop. >> You think an 8-year-old make [music] that up? >> He's going to say what he says. >> So, he So, he shouldn't even know what drunk is, right? He's a child, >> dude. Look at your >> Do what? You're being you're being oblivious. >> I am. >> You I'm a father. I would never >> My home is right here. >> So is that just make it okay that you should just get to go home because you're drunk. >> Like I'm not doing nothing to >> life in danger. >> You are because they're in the vehicle. And then you about put my life in danger when you almost hit me. >> The kids knew their dad was drunk and they even begged him to stop driving. Of course, no kids that young should have that kind of responsibility on their shoulders. As Mason grew more agitated, his wife arrived. >> Does he normally dispense? Is that normal for him? >> He doesn't. >> Okay. >> Not so coherent. No. >> So, based on his observations, my observations on speaking to you, I'm just going to run into Okay. All it is is that I'm going to make sure that you're able to operate the vehicle. Doesn't mean that you're in any trouble at all. >> I don't want to to do a field test or I don't. I live right here. I don't care to. So, like I said, my house right here. All right. >> Why am I on a jail? Because I'm right here. >> Let me speak to you. So, based on my observation, his observations. >> I'm not being anal. >> I know. Well, well, you asked, so I'm explaining to you, right? I hope I'm not being >> No, you're not being explain it to you. So the way that that works is >> what do I need to do to >> dispel my fear not intoxicated is run us through field sobriety. >> After stalling the cops and dragging his feet, he finally agreed to do the field sobriety test. But even at that point, he didn't make it easy. He was protesting the cops and questioned their instructions, making everything far worse for himself and everyone involved. >> So you see the tip of my pen here? All right. With the tip of your pen, do you mind touching with the tip of your finger? Like that. Why are you shaking? >> Yeah, I don't know why. >> Why are you shaking so bad? >> Probably too much. >> I can't. What's going on? >> There you go. >> Okay, >> you got it. I know that. >> Whoa, bro. Wo. Just Can somebody else hold the pen? >> No, I just have drank too much caffeine. Okay. Well, you see what it is, right? You touched it. >> Well, I'm insane. You're like this. >> Do you see the tip of my pen? >> I do. Okay. But can Can I record this or no? >> It's all recorded on camera. >> I mean, your pen doing this right here. >> It's pretty straight. >> Okay. It's pretty straight. >> Yeah, it's straight. >> Okay. Yes, sir. You touched. You touched it. That's good. Put your hand down. Okay. So, the tip of the pen that you just touched with your tip of your finger, you're going to fall in with your eyes and your eyes going. Okay. Do not move your head. Good. >> Do you understand? >> Good. Do you mind taking out? >> Keep them straight to your side. Like I said, >> you're shaking. >> You're shaking what? What is that? >> What do you mean? >> Are you doing it? >> I'm doing Am I doing it? >> Am I doing it or no? >> Can you stop talking? >> I'm doing it. I'm doing it. Right. >> Go ahead. >> Just follow it. >> Go ahead. >> Follow it. >> Mason tried to turn things around on the officer, looking for any excuse whatsoever to not complete the task. The man's eyes were darting uncontrollably and he was struggling to follow the pen which made it even more obvious that he wasn't fit to be driving. >> I'm not walking in a straight line. There's no straight line here. There's no line here in the road. >> There's no straight line. >> You can't imagine straight line. >> Nope. I can't imagine straight line. There is a straight line. Walk over here. >> I'm not put your hands behind your back. I'm not >> then don't say no and don't push off. >> Why the risk? I don't know why. >> Okay. Thank you for all this. >> After being secured in the squad car, the cop came back to talk to his wife. As far as this thing went, she clearly wasn't surprised. It was obvious he had an ongoing drinking problem. And this incident had simply proven it. >> Obviously, I did not want it to go that way cuz there's children. They're not three years old, so they're going to remember this for their whole life. That's not why we do our things, right? I'm sure this is probably the first interaction they've had with the with with law enforcement, has it been? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Well, I thought so. Obviously, I didn't want this to be their first one, right? Without them understanding. >> They know exactly what's going on. Well, my oldest. Yeah. So, I'm gonna I'm just going to ask you, >> was he drinking at was what was in that that >> Absolutely. It was um Jack and Coke is what he >> I could I could smell. >> He's been drinking since 1:00 today. >> Since 1:00. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> They arrested Mason and he was charged with resisting arrest, child endangerment, DUI, and using a firearm while committing a felony. That last charge was added after the cops found a loaded handgun in his car. Ultimately, the real victims in each of these traffic stops were the kids. Whether it was a mother crashing into a school bus or a grandmother hitting a wall, risking her grandson's life, these DUI parents got exactly what they deserved when the cops had had enough.
