On the 27th of January 2024, police officers from the Lath Police Department were dispatched to a residence after a woman called 911 to report that her friend and her friend's daughter were in danger. According to the caller, the victim's boyfriend was threatening to kill her. >> 911, what's the location of your emergency? >> I'm actually calling for a friend. Um he almost did try to kill last night, she said. And I'm just really worried and I don't know what to do. >> Upon arrival, the cops encountered the suspect, arguing with the two women. But when they approached him and gave him lawful orders, he refused to cooperate and began backing out of the driveway. >> Why are you guys running from John? >> He needs help. >> Here, come back here. >> He tried to last night. >> Here, come back here. Talk to these guys. >> Hey, does John have any weapons right now? >> No. Well, yeah, there's probably knives and stuff in the house. >> John, carry a gun. Hey, John, >> what's going on right now? >> Hey, Tino, stop that car if he takes off. 13 [music] clear off. >> And just like that, the chase was on. With his desperate escape attempt, the suspect, 40-year-old Juan Valdez, just made himself look more guilty. Given that the night before, he'd almost stabbed his girlfriend, he probably wouldn't hesitate, harming others on the road just so he could escape. Let's go down. >> John, turn the car off. >> Turn the car off now. >> Hey, Tino, I got your I'm going to get your 40. >> Turn the CAR OFF NOW. 13 wants to know what the one is. >> Hey, where's your 40, dude? >> 13. We're trying to figure it out right now. >> Turn your car off. >> There's a verbal between the X and the male half. >> Turn the car off now. >> The male's extremely uncooperative. Boy 132, we're taking off again. >> For a moment, it looked like he was going to cooperate and step out of his vehicle. However, he had a sudden change of heart and took off once again, leading the cops on a low- speed chase throughout the residential area. >> And we're going to be going westbound on Castlewood. Speeds 15. Westbound Stonebridge traffic is driving clear. >> Pull over. >> Copy. Westbound Stonebridge's going to be 273.5 and possible 45. from speed 25 miles hour. >> 118. Continuing northbound on your daily [screaming] and stand by for the next turn on westbound on [screaming] rock. It's just going wrong for a second here. [screaming] >> Copy. We have unit 21. It was a pretty good attempt on the officer's behalf to box the man in. However, he somehow managed to squeeze through the trap and continue his escape. But with so many units joining in on the chase, he could only evade the officers for so long. >> Hey, we'll take whatever agency can assist. Yeah, looks like his vehicle partially disabled the alignment. We're going to be continuing southbound. >> Looks like we're passing laser now. So, we're heading towards Louise I5 South. His tires coming apart towards the meeting trying to carjack somebody. [screaming] >> I copy. He's flipping a lane and there's unit covering on the city. >> He's trying to carjack a victim vehicle. Holding on. >> Are you trying to contact the victim vehicle? What's the description? >> Talk about a daring and dangerous escape attempt. While holding on to a vehicle like that, he was lucky he didn't get run over and killed. And after that stunt, if he kept things up, he'd be lucky he didn't get shot. >> HEY, YOU'RE GOING TO GIVE, DUDE. HEY, you're going to get shot the ground. [screaming] GET ON THE GROUND. THE don't move, sir. >> Don't move, AH, BRO. WHY DID YOU MOVE UP? MOVE FORWARD. I just >> get the I >> Yeah. >> You got gloves? I got small ones. >> You all right? >> Hey, are you okay? >> It's okay. It happened extremely quickly, but before the cops put him in cuffs, Juan had been shot. Accordingly, they quickly started first aid on the roadside while they waited for an ambulance. >> One to two rounds. One to two rounds. >> Nobody else standing. >> Nobody else standing. >> Anybody else? >> A for we have one in cuffs. Rendering aid. Scene is secure. Where you going at? >> Come on. >> Scissors. All units there. >> 18 logged in name. Juan Valdez will work on a do cuz you got longies, bro. Couldn't see that one. >> Considering he'd just been shot twice, Juan was handling things extremely well. And while some of the cops were busy treating him, others were documenting evidence and gathering witness statements. >> Yeah. >> Good. >> Uh 19. You good? Is he going back? >> I got >> Yep. >> We don't need the hospital. We're going to get you coming, man. Okay. You got any medical problems? >> Relax. >> Oh, yeah. That's nice. Yeah. >> I think you can still drive. You can still drive. He pulled over. >> They're on him. They're uh he's hooked to the bed. >> I'm going to There's a big picture to this. I mean, we put everything where it's at. >> Everything stays. Yes. >> Yeah. We're not touching there. We're not touching anything. Photographs. He's being transported. We got to figure out >> if you want. >> Our suspect survived his injuries. After being treated, they booked the man in the Sanwaqin County jail. He faced multiple felony charges, including carjacking, false imprisonment, felony evasion, resisting arrest, and committing a felony while out on parole. On the 14th of August, 2024 in Greenfield, Wisconsin, police responded to a Marshall store after reports of a retail theft in progress. According to reports, a 22-year-old had entered the store and began concealing merchandise in a suitcase before attempting to flee the scene with a getaway driver in a blue Chrysler. $700. [screaming] >> Turn the car off. >> Step out of the car. >> What did I do? >> Northbound. >> I don't >> All right. Are you tank right now? >> Okay. I'm like, I didn't do a thing. >> The suspects were running a two-woman operation while one suspect, Tajila, took off on foot. The cops were able to box in the getaway driver, Katherine Thurman, and she was ordered out of her vehicle. Once in custody, the cops learned she was recently released from prison, having sold large amounts of narcotics while in possession of a dangerous weapon. >> [screaming] >> I'll swing you in a moment. Right now, you're just being protected. [laughter] >> I ain't did nothing. >> What do I do? >> What the >> I ain't did nothing. Hey, >> what happened? We're going to talk more about that in a moment here. >> I don't know nothing. >> I know you don't know anything. >> Did y'all get who y'all need? Like, oh my god. What the >> name? Put your feet in. What's your name? >> What did she I didn't do anything. >> Same thing. >> Female, black, skinny, green pants. Okay. >> Close the door. Close the door. >> Uh, black great green pants, black shirt, she has red in her hair. >> Okay. Having a description of Tajila, cops were dispatched to track her down. In the meantime, the cops had some questions for Catherine. However, in typical criminal fashion, she denied doing anything wrong. >> So, you're driving who else is here? >> I don't know her. >> So, you don't know her? >> I don't know her. >> Why is she going to get into your car? >> I don't know. >> Ma'am, is this your purse? >> This mine? Yes. >> Okay. So, why is someone else's ID in your purse? >> I don't know. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Well, I'm Catherine. >> All right. You either going to tell us what happened or >> I don't I was in a sir. >> Okay. How >> I never find her. >> Okay. How then two suitcases full of >> I don't even >> I don't even know where she got that from. I don't know where she partner's name. The one she's associated with. >> Okay. What's her name? >> Is her name Dawson? >> Taja Smith. >> Taja Smith. >> Taja AJ. >> So she she she usually does this or something like that. >> Yeah. She's the one that hit West Dallas. We've got her identified from other officers back in the >> Is that she was hit? She was hitting Vestalis. >> No, the other girl, the one that fled. We know her name. >> The employee at Marshalls said he was more than familiar with the women as in the recent past they'd had run-ins with them for shoplifting. Furthermore, he also told the officer that he had photo and video evidence of Tajila as she shoplifted from their store. >> And we were notified by one of our other investigators um from the West Alice area that of a subject that did a a walk out with this purple suitcase. Yeah. >> And we watched her literally walk in, watch her do the same exact stuff that our investigator told us that she did in West Dallas. >> Yeah. >> So take kids clothes, men's items, socks, um start con some shoes and stuff, started concealing it inside the suitcase. Uh then just made her way out. >> So she used the suitcase over at the West Alice location. >> She selected this from West Alice also. So our ticket is on. Our sensor is still on it. So get the girl. I don't even know this girl. >> Okay, man. We'll talk to you. >> Full of this stuff. Do you have receipts for all of this? >> That's not my >> Okay. But this is your car, right? >> That's not my stuff. That's the whoever the girl. >> I asked if that's your car or not. It was sitting in a trunk. So, stop lying or just be quiet. Okay. >> That's not mine. >> The getaway driver, Catherine, could deny all she wants. She was involved in things, but the stolen merchandise in her vehicle said otherwise. Next up, the cops wanted to track down Tajila and get her into custody. She westbound on the freeway on the north side running [screaming] >> and advised she was running across the west lane. So she might be on the other side of the freeway. The sheriff just advised that female just flagged down a gray Honda minivan on the freeway that she got into. They're going to attempt to stop it. Apparently she just got out of that minivan running up the hill northbound towards the woods cam boys going into the woods out here. Apparently >> By now, Tajila was in big trouble. When it was just one or two officers, she might have been able to hide, but now they brought the canine out and it was a whole different story. And unless she wanted to get bit, when the cops caught up with her, she'd really have to cooperate. Stop right there. >> Do not move. >> I got eyes on her. She's in the uh in between some fences here on a property off of 92. Stop. Give me address, please. Once I get it, I'll get it out to you. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. >> 456. So, thank you. >> ON THE GROUND NOW. ON THE GROUND. Go on your stomach. ON YOUR STOMACH. ON YOUR STOMACH. >> YOU WANT TO DANCE? >> YES. >> GO. >> How do you have me? Why? I'm pregnant. >> Okay. >> You shouldn't be running from the cops. She was lucky the officer caught up with her before the canine. As more cops arrived on scene, she was quickly handcuffed and searched. If it really was true she was pregnant, the last thing she should have done was run from the cops. If you're pregnant, you should be thinking about your baby, not running from the cops. >> I'm sorry. I didn't know it had to be a room. Sit on your butt. She >> incident. >> You have anything on you that you shouldn't have? >> No, sir. >> All right, stand up. One, two, three. >> I'm sorry. >> Here, I'm going to search you real quick. >> Spread your feet. >> Valid and negative. >> Is your ID in here? No. >> You got anything in here that you shouldn't have? No. >> While they waited for another unit to arrive to transport the woman to the station to process her, the cops had more questions. And while she denied doing anything wrong, there was evidence to the contrary. >> Why are you stealing when you got this much cash in your >> Do you have a car out there? >> Where'd you get all this cash from? >> I babysit from my mom. >> What's your first name? >> One dispatch. I'm out there. >> Sorry. Bavian. >> You spell it? >> R O T A V I A. >> V I A. >> Yes. >> After all the stunts she pulled, she still had the audacity to lie to the officers about her real name. After arresting her, the officers learned she had an impressive rap sheet, including more than 10 felonies for retail theft, including one for over 10 grand. >> Stand up. >> Walk over here. have anyone with any enjoy. >> What's that? >> You still looking for homework? >> No, we have everybody. >> Okay. >> She's been searched, but >> I got here after the fact. >> No problem. What's your name? >> They charged the woman with retail theft, a felony, resisting an officer, and three counts of bail jumping. A few days later, she was released on a bond of $250. Her accomplice, Catherine, was charged with felony retail theft as a party to a crime, and she was released on a cash bond of $1,500. On June 21st, 2025 in Fondeelac County, Wisconsin, the cops got a call about a speeding vehicle running a red light. According to the caller, the suspect nearly struck her vehicle and her family. They spotted the suspect driving 102 mph in a 35 zone and attempted to make a traffic stop, but the suspect led them on a high-speed pursuit. Pyro, that's enough. While the suspect, Steven, was driving at a high rate of speed, the officer quickly caught up with him, pulling in right behind his vehicle. If the chase didn't end soon, innocent drivers might get hurt or even the suspect or the officers. doesn't matter. I know what's going on. Swerving all over the road, he showed no signs of giving up or pulling over. Instead, he put his foot on the gas, rapidly changing lanes, trying to elude the police. Hands up. Hands up. Hands up. Put your hands up. Put your hands up. >> PUT YOUR HANDS UP. >> Although it looked like the chase was over, Steven wasn't willing to go out without a fight. His vehicle still had some life left in it, but he was still going to push things as far as he could to avoid being arrested. You're going to get BIT WITH A DOG. PUT your Sheriff say 20 up and be random multiple times. >> Get the out of the car. >> Back up. Back up. Back up. Back up. I didn't copy. I heard something about ram. >> He's trying to ram south of them. >> I'm going Even with threats of a canine and tasers, he was still determined to continue the chase. But as the officer was blocking his every move, there was no way out. He eventually realized that he wasn't going anywhere. We're getting a tased. >> Turn the car off. I DON'T CARE. TURN OFF. >> DO IT NOW. TURN THE CAMERA OFF. >> TURN THE CAR OFF. [screaming] >> He's still trying to get away. 53. We got the good car turned off. I'm starting an ambulance. Look at his uh pacemaker going on. >> Whether true or not, Steven claimed that his pacemaker was malfunctioning. However, as he refused to cooperate and step out of the vehicle, the cops had to take matters into their own hands. [screaming] >> Grab this hand. Oh my god. The avatar >> paceer. Oh my god. Oh, MY PACE HIKER'S GOING OFF. OH MY GOD. MY PACE IS GOING OFF. [screaming] >> Put your HANDS ON YOUR BACK. >> PUT YOUR HANDS ON YOUR BACK. >> Oh my god. This is not me. Somebody on my face. Oh yeah. >> You all right? Are you good? >> Check the dog. Go ahead. >> With the man secured in handcuffs. They then turned their attention to identifying him as they waited for paramedics. What they really wanted to know was what this guy was thinking as he tried to evade the cops so recklessly. >> Ambulance, please. My face. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. It's going. Yeah. Yeah. >> Let it go, buddy. >> I do have a congrats. That doesn't explain all this driving behavior, does it? No, probably not. >> You got to dude all the drugs. >> Oh my god. >> What's your name? >> He's trying to go backwards on 41. So I started random. >> No, that's fine. What are you doing today at? >> I have no idea. >> Yeah, >> I was heading the church and then something took over me. >> The devil took over you. >> I swear to God. Okay. Oh. Oh my god. Yeah, [snorts] there's something out of the arm. >> Yeah, like a patch probably maker or something. [snorts] >> I guess his phone was in that. He threw one foot out the window. If it wasn't drugrelated, it seemed like Steven might have had a psychotic episode. Whatever had caused it, they did a great job of getting him off the roadway and protecting the other drivers. >> All right, Stephen, stand up for us. >> All right, buddy. We'll get you up. >> Sit up. >> Stand up. >> Stand up. >> Stand up and walk. >> Walking. >> Yeah. >> Come on. Let's go. Steven Juas received multiple charges including firstdegree recklessly endangering safety, fleeing eluding an officer, causing bodily harm or property damage, and resisting or obstructing an officer. After appearing in court, a cash bond was set of $50,000. On the 8th of August 2024, a thief had stolen someone's scooter at knife point and having a description of the suspect, the cops were trying to take the suspect into custody. However, instead of cooperating with the officers, the suspect attempted a very risky getaway. >> Mind if we holler at you for a few minutes? >> Where are you coming from? Okay. Can you have a seat for me? >> Have a seat. Am I being >> Have a seat. Yes. You're being detained. Have a seat. >> He's [snorts] in the water. This is going to be him on the bridge. >> Ocean unit, are you able to respond over here? We're under the uh east side of the bridge. He can't go far, so we just need somebody at the uh eastbound side of the bridge. >> You confirm that's going to be, I guess. Yeah, he has the matching ear tattoo and everything. As soon as we told him he was detained, knocked over the side. >> I have access to the boat if you want me to put it in. [laughter] >> You still have eyes on him? >> No, he's underneath the bridge. >> As more units arrived on scene, the cops discussed how to handle things. And they eventually agreed their only option was to hop on a boat and cut the suspect off before he could swim to shore and flee on foot or worse, drowned in the water. >> Is he walking already? Yeah, they're about where the light bulb is. >> Oh, that's Carmen. Carmen, be careful. Carmen and him are the bike units are underneath a bridge. Hop in your car, Dax, if you want to follow me. >> Anybody on him yet? >> Still working on it. We might see him over here on the east side. We're still walking towards him. I believe he was confirmed robbery. All right. And also, they weren't What's going on? Bridge. >> Oh, that was a armed robbery guy to jump in the water. Yeah. [laughter] >> They were ready to head to the bridge via boat. However, as a good deal of time had passed, they were still looking for the suspect. And before too long, they found their bold escapee. Is he south of the bridge now? >> All right. When he comes on the boat, >> we have to put him in handcuffs and then that orange life jacket's got to go on him. >> There's a ladder on the back of this boat. >> Okay. >> So, Dex, if you want to go to the back of the boat with him. >> Hey, put your hands in the air. Put them both up. really close in. I'm going to go ahead and drop that ladder. >> Come here. >> I'll be on the floor. It's in my right pocket, sir. >> Where? >> In my right pocket, sir. How much money did this cost, y'all? >> Surprisingly, the suspect had made it pretty far out. And without a life preserver, he seemed pretty relieved to see the officers. If he'd been out there any longer, there was a pretty good chance he might drown. >> Roll up on your right side. >> All right. >> Sit up on your butt. >> Put a life jacket on so you're nice and safe. >> All right. Watch your head coming over. >> Looks like a bait. >> That's what I thought it was, too. >> It is a bait. >> It is. It's around his neck. >> Yeah. Yeah. Take it off. >> Hey, what were you thinking? That wasn't [snorts] smart. >> I really was just trying to get back in my girl. >> Cross your legs. >> Thank you for not making me get in the water after you. >> Well, I made a couple of Yeah, a couple other officers might not feel the same way. >> Yeah, that's their mistake. That was silly. >> Look, look. >> I didn't get to see you jump. I lost the camera when they released. After a quick ride, the cops and the suspect arrived on shore. Before being questioned, they read the man his rights. Also, at the same time, the robbery victim was brought there to help positively ID him. >> The blade? >> Yeah. >> Is it exact the one like the blade? >> I can't definitely say for sure, but >> can you can you pull it like open it up? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> So, you positively identified that knife. >> Okay. Hey, did he agree to speak? >> Yeah. >> Hey, buddy. What's that? >> You didn't say anything about >> We didn't talk anything. We just heard him random there. Just normal conversation. >> So, you know what we're talking about? So, what's what's going on? >> I'm just [ __ ] drugged the up. >> Drug the [ __ ] out. >> I mean, >> did you >> Did you steal uh the the scooter? >> You didn't steal nothing. >> Huh? You didn't steal nothing? >> I stole some drugs. >> Why did you run then? >> Cuz I wanted to run. I got a warrant, sir. >> Oh, you got a warrant? >> Listen. Wait. But me up on the bridge, >> y'all kept passing and normally normally I can slide past a couple of y'all without homeless. I'm out here walking the streets and [ __ ] Eventually I'm going to get picked up. I'm surprised it lasted this long. >> The suspect admitted to being high on drugs, but he denied stealing the scooter. And even with the victim pointing his finger at the suspect, the cops were hoping for a confession. >> So the reason that we're making contact with you, my friend, is cuz there was an incident. >> Oh, to the tea, my friend. to the T. A stolen scooter with a knife. >> And I got a knife. >> What? >> Yeah. >> So, so let me answer this question and be honest with you, man. >> Honest with you. No, no steal. No steal. Nothing. >> You didn't steal anything? >> No. No, sir. >> Okay. So, you didn't steal anything? You didn't grab a scooter? >> If I stole, if I did anything wrong, it was I didn't get enough money for drugs for me and my girlfriend, dog. And I apologize. >> So, you said that you didn't take anything. You didn't take Listen. >> 5:00 this morning, I was shooting up drugs [snorts] with my girlfriend. Sucks. >> Where? >> I got in a fight with a dude on a scooter, >> but I didn't take nobody's scooter. >> The cop's interrogation was beginning to pay off. Finally, the suspect admitted to being in an altercation with a man on a scooter. And with a bit more pressure, they were hoping he'd slip up and reveal the full story. >> He's saying I stuck in I robbed him at knife point for a scooter. Bro, I don't want a scooter, bro. I don't I just didn't want my girls tricking with him, though. >> Be honest with me, man. Rich, be honest with me. >> I'm trying to be as honest as I can, man. >> You did you think this cool? >> I ain't take nothing from the man >> for sure. >> It doesn't matter what I say because guilty until proven innocent. >> It is actually the reversed >> until proven guilty. >> That's my fault. >> Well, so so >> Okay. So, listen. I didn't take nothing from this man. >> Okay. >> This man. So, you're telling me cuz we have we have video. >> Can't have video of me taking anything from this man. >> Okay. All righty. So, right now you know that you're under arrest for the warrant. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> You're under arrest for persisting and you are under arrest for armed robbery. >> The scooter and the guy is armed robbery >> but >> but he had a knife. He had an eye on >> and the victim ID tonight >> and the victim ID him >> and his girlfriend put him on scene with the victim prior to Robert. >> We have PC we see all over the place. >> And we don't have the scooter. >> We don't have the >> scooter's going to be in the water >> probably. >> If he was in the water, that scooter is going to be in the water. >> Um, >> let me go in there and ask him, [laughter] man. I just got to get the scooter. >> Is it in the water? [clears throat] >> Are you tucked away in them bushing? I really need to talk to my girlfriend. >> Well, just think about it and let us know. >> In addition to his warrant, he was also charged with resisting arrest and armed robbery. Undoubtedly, it was a risky escape attempt. But in this case, he was only risking his own life and not the life of another like our next suspect. On June 27th, 2025 in Marian County, the cops were on patrol and spotted a silver Kia with dark tinted windows and a license plate that was obscured. After initiating the traffic stop, the driver drove to a nearby apartment complex and pulled into a parking spot. >> They're ramming my patrol car. Start me a car. Fairway Circle and Silver Pass. I got someone ramming my patrol car. GET OUT THE CAR. GIVE ME YOUR GIVE ME YOUR SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. GET OUT THE CAR. SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. GET OUT THE CAR. SHOW ME YOUR HANDS RIGHT NOW. SHERIFF'S OFFICE. GET OUT THE CAR. GET OUT THE CAR. GET OUT THE CAR. GET OUT THE CAR. STOP OR [screaming] I WILL SHOOT YOU. GET OUT THE CAR. GET OUT THE CAR. >> 643 man. They just tried to ram me. >> Okay, looks like that didn't go how the officer hoped. Still though, at least nobody was hurt. Not yet, anyway. With the suspect fleeing the scene, the officer here was in hot pursuit. radioing in for more units to join the chase. >> Hey, he just went through a fence. He's headed out the Silver Road. >> Made a ride on Ember Road. We're going northbound towards Merry Camp. 64. We go 70 mph about to come out of Merry Camp. >> He's driving pretty carelessly. Didn't he advised it wasn't going to continue? The suspect was driving like an absolute madman, putting everyone around him, including himself and the officer, in serious risk. At speeds like he was driving, the chase could lead to a tragic outcome, especially as they approach the residential areas. CALL. GET ON THE GROUND OR I'M GOING TO CHASE YOU. >> THE SUSPECT was playing a risky game, driving like that and fleeing from police. They had no way of knowing if he was armed or not. And as a result, they were taking no chances. If the suspect didn't give up soon, he was going to regret it. >> Get on the ground. Get on the ground. >> Black male, white beanie hat, gray shorts, black shirt, camo pants. Get on the ground. There's a K9 OVER THERE WAITING on you. >> Taser. I I I >> GET ON YOUR FACE. >> GET DOWN. >> PUT your hands on your back. >> I got this. I got it. I got >> All right. No. No. No. No. No. I got it. >> PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND. >> TRY TO RUN ME OVER AGAIN. >> We don't do that in Marian County. >> We got one. >> We got one. >> I never KEEP SOMEONE OUT LIKE YOU. >> By the time the cops caught up with him, they were less than impressed with his behavior. And it really showed. He'd put everyone's lives at risk. And the cops wanted to make sure he knew it. responsible. It's a ladder. I believe anyway. >> Um, can I can get in that car? >> You ain't getting nothing. >> No, I'm asking. >> You ain't getting nothing. Get in the car. >> I didn't double lock those. I need to catch my breath. >> With the suspect secured in the back of a cruiser, the officers combed the backyard of the residence, suspecting the man would have tried to discard evidence. And just moments later, they made a very disturbing discovery. >> That was ridiculous. >> Yeah. >> He pushed the car into me almost. >> Is that baby okay? >> Yeah. >> Was that in the car? >> Yeah. >> Oh my god. Is my car damaged? >> I locked it for you. >> Thank you. >> So hopefully you have your keys. >> I do. I don't see any damage on my car, which is shocking. I went through a fence over a street sign 643 man back where I initially did the 1050. He rammed another car as well. So we're going to have vehicle damaged over there. >> See? >> No. What's that look like? >> Oh, yeah. There's a magazine sticking out. >> I'm pretty sure. >> Let me Don't touch it. I'm going to move my car. >> Shockingly, the suspect fled the scene of the crime with a baby in the back of his car. Considering how fast he was driving, not to mention how recklessly this situation could have been a whole lot worse. Next, the cops collected the suspect's contraband and put it into evidence. >> I'm right behind you. >> I didn't see you jump it, but I was like, man, I cleared that thing. XM radio like that >> if you want. We went straight that way. >> I say I can walk you through it if you're going to be want if you want. >> It's it's like if you did you see him? >> He's got guns and stuff in here and he was coming out one of the parks where they often sell drugs. >> We were calling behind him. He was [clears throat] walking Oh, heck yeah. >> Hey, come here. >> Hey, buddy. Come here. >> Oh, yeah. 643. Man, we have a large amount of 31 in the trunk. >> What do you think that is? >> You think that's >> I don't know what it is, but I don't think it's T. >> Yeah. I'm trying to see if there's anything special in here. It might be actual tea cuz there's other snacks and stuff in here, too. While they continued searching the vehicle, a supervisor arrived on scene to examine the arresting officer and make sure he was okay. In these high stress situations, the cops really need to look after their own. >> It's been every shift, man. >> Every shift. >> Yeah. Uh it's just we bags, but nothing I need to get the drug unit for. Uh he has one of those onepound bags, but a lot of it's missing. So, I'm guessing he's been selling it. It's got probably like 50 to 100 ounces left, maybe. >> Yeah. >> Is that a gun seat? >> Yeah, he had a gun under his seat. >> It's rusted. It's a little piece of junk. >> It had a full magazine, though. And he's got a sticker from the smoke shop on there. >> Yeah, my first second pit ever. It was kind of a ram, but I mean, I didn't get no damage to my car, but I didn't want him to go any further. I didn't know he was going to try to stop you. I hit him right here. >> Spinning in the road. >> I wasn't going to let him keep driving in this neighborhood like that. I know. I I'm not worried about this one. It just It upset me. I thought he was going to run me over. >> I just went to office and grab water bottles. After finishing the vehicle search, they found a loaded handgun, mar package for sale, and drug paraphernalia, all within reach of the child. As a result, the suspect was charged with child neglect, drug trafficking, and aggravated assault on law enforcement. At the time of his arrest, he was also on probation for fleeing and eluding. On the 7th of August 2024, an officer was on bike patrol and spotted a woman with an active warrant riding past him. He tried to stop the woman, but the woman had other ideas. >> Stop, Brenda. >> Please don't rush me. >> I'll push you off that bike, Brenda. >> Huh? >> All right, Brenda. This is your warning. 2978. What was she wearing? Get me. Go ahead and get me. >> Come on, Brenda. >> Scared St. George. >> Can I give my medicine, please? >> No. >> Stop. >> Brenda, >> this fake sea doesn't work every single time. >> Why the hell? She's not tripping. She thinks a seizure and she gets arrested. >> Try to knock it off. >> Knock off. Knock off. >> One secure St. George. >> The chase ended quickly with Brenda on the ground in handcuffs pretending to have a seizure. The cops were more than familiar with her due to previous drug offenses. So they searched her expecting to find contraband. Get off this road. >> All right, I got myself. Hold on. >> Yep. coming. >> Yep. >> Last time you did this, it was much easier when you actually sat up. Overall, it was a pathetic escape attempt, [music] but at least with the woman faking that seizure, it was a little bit easier to put her in the back of a squad car. Next stop, with Brenda secured, they began searching her belongings. >> Dude, so she saw down the Bayront coming after her. So I was like, "Hey, Brenda, stop." She turned on Kuna Street, cut through River and Fort. She's coming. I got up next to her. I'm like, "Brenda, stop." She's like, "No, you're going to rush me." I was like, "No, Brenda, stop." And so she came over, came over St. George Street. I was like right on her. It's like, "If you don't stop, I'm just going to push you off that bike." And she said, "No, I can't stop." And so she kept going. I was like, "All right, Brenda, this is your one warning. Like, stop." And she didn't. So I pushed her into the wall. And so she ate, got up and tried running down St. George Street. >> Yeah. [laughter] So this >> she's got signal 31 too. the cavern poss asking her a question about how ice cream. >> With the cops busy searching her things, EMS arrived on scene and checked Brenda's injuries from her fall. And while the cops assumed that her seizure was an act, EMS personnel still took it seriously. >> Good. Okay. >> Perfect. Thank you guys. >> We try to sit her up, but she won't sit her up. So, as long as she's good, I appreciate it. Yeah, I think drunk and whatever else she's been smoking. >> She'll be rescued. Seriously. >> I mean, if y'all her vitals are good, if she come with us regard I mean, unless they deem her if all y'all are saying she doesn't need to go to the hospital, we're good. >> Okay. >> All right. >> I'm going to keep an eye on her. She won't sit up for us. I thought you know what I thought when I heard it and I was like and he called fire rescue. I was like she must have needed off that bike. That's what I was thinking of. >> No, she actually I mean I don't know. I wasn't here for it. I just come down the road and they're cuffing her. >> What? Fire rescue say she was getting >> Yeah, her father was her phone. She >> The problem is she's going to act like that. >> The jail took her the last time I arrested her for this because they know her history. I mean she's going to jail regardless of if we go to the hospital first or not. So >> Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> But I just don't understand why she doesn't delay. Like it's not going to Just wish they had like nurses like we used to have. >> I know. >> They would take remember that like little Spanish guy that would >> Oh my god. Yeah. >> Sit up. They'd be like, "Sit up. You're not getting this." >> After being cleared by EMS, their next job was to get her out of the squad car and into another vehicle as she'd now be transported down to the station for further processing. However, she was not going to make it easy. Hey, Brenda, if you sat up, it'd be way easier. Then we all have to Hold on. Can you undo? >> Thank you. Just drop her legs. >> Yeah. Dead weight. She's able. >> Oh, she's able to stand up. Okay. >> Oh my gosh. This too. She hurt me. Fire rescue player that her vital are perfect. >> Yeah. >> You'll squeeze through there. >> Probably not. >> All right. Just leave her right there. I got her. >> Extra large. >> Kelly, are you able to go through that? This is a horrible seat. Try to get her in. There's >> no way I was going to be able to This is going to end up hurting you if you don't just sit up right now. These seats suck. >> Sit her in this smile. >> Yes. I'm happy. >> I think that just falls. >> You really had to hand it to Brenda as she continued pretending she was unconscious during the whole ordeal, and it took some serious dedication. The cops didn't mind, though, because it's easier to deal with a limp person than one who resists. After a quick ride, they arrived at the jail house. >> Hey, get on the wall. Come on. Hi, doctor. Wake up. >> You guys have her husband in here, too. >> I know. I saw that [laughter] >> very What's happening? >> Uh, she's got a couple bags. There it is. One of the other officers key fob got tangled on her. He just called me. He was like, "Hey, will they take her out of your car? Can you check for my key fob?" I was like, "Yeah, I got you. They charged the woman with resisting an officer without violence and possession of drugs, in this case, a schedule 2 substance. She was sentenced to 2 years probation, fines, and 50 hours of community service. On January 24th, 2025, cops on the ground requested air support as they were tracking three car thieves who had fled the scene after a traffic stop. >> He's got a dog. He's got a dog. >> It's turning on right now. >> Just turned off. He's got it. >> Go. Get him. Get him. Get him. Get him. Get him. Get him. a vehicle. Uh, he's by himself. >> Hey, be He's got a dog. He's got a dog. >> All right, we're overhead. >> Pushing towards beach street. >> The suspects bailed out of the car and took off on foot. However, unbeknownst to them, they were being tracked by a helicopter using sophisticated technology that was tracking their every move. Thankfully for the cops on ground, the helicopter directed them right toward the thieves. All right, I got eyes on the K9. I'm looking for uh for buddy here. All right, I got him. I got him. We're running northbound. 37 Standish Avenue. Running northbound. I got I got three individuals running northbound on Standish A. Um, next cross it's going to be off of Peace Street. Peace Street and Standish. Currently running through a parking lot. Pushing towards Peach Street. >> A pushing towards Peach Tree. Although two suspects had fled into the night, looks like a third one stayed in the vehicle. In no time, he was dragged out of the stolen vehicle, handcuffed, and searched by a nononsense cop who didn't have time for the suspect's shenanigans. >> Push Bond on Standish. Push him towards Peak. Get up to Pete Street. All right, we're over. >> They're pushing towards Peach Tree. Get the [screaming] out. Get on the ground. >> Get the out your stomach right now. >> All right, I got eyes on the looking for her buddy here. Yeah, >> shut the up. >> The cop here was not playing around. The suspects led them through a dangerous chase throughout the city and their adrenaline was high. The suspect here kept making excuses, but clearly the cop wasn't buying it. >> We're running northbound 37. >> No, y'all putting in work and y'all got caught. >> That's it. No, you got caught, pimp. >> Y'all put in too much work. >> Oh yeah, you did something today, baby. You caught eight. That's what happened. >> Next cross is going to be off of Peace Street. Peace in Standard. >> Currently running through a parking lot. >> Y'all caught Ace, baby. >> East Street. >> I got several out. So, >> I can only stay with one here. Goodness, you >> shut the up. Wearing gloves, just giving you a ride like this is my first day. >> With one suspect down, there were still two on the run. You could almost feel sorry for them because from here on out, any escape attempt would be worthless because the eye in the sky tracked their every move as if watching them in broad daylight. >> I have it transmitting right now might be inoperable. I got one in custody on Standish. >> All right. One of these guys, he just jumped. All right. Two of them jump in a wall. Uh running back westbound um towards Stish Avenue. Wonder be wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. I got one of them jumping in a dumpster here. 1720 Peach Street Northwest. >> If it weren't for the helicopter, there's no doubt the suspects would have gotten away. Sadly for them though, that's not how it played out. And in no time at all, they were quickly surrounded by multiple officers. >> We got officers about to make contact at the dumpster. >> Okay, now coming up. We're coming in one now. >> Okay. >> Get out. GET OUT. >> ON THE GROUND. HURRY UP. >> On the ground. Get on the ground. >> ON THE GROUND. >> HEY, SECOND ONE, COME OUT. >> Second one, come out. >> Second guy, come on out. It's over. COME ON OUT. YOUR HANDS UP. >> COME OUT. HURRY UP. >> AND GET ON THE GROUND. >> Get on the ground. >> The dumpster. >> Get on the ground. >> Hands up. He's complying with orders. >> Hey. Hey. Hold on. Hey. Come. Have him. Come back to us. I don't know if it's anybody else. Crawl back. >> Crawl back >> to my voice. Crawl back. >> To be on the safe side, the cops had the suspects crawl toward them as they were still unsure if anyone else was in that dumpster. In situations like these, it's always better to be safe than sorry. >> All black, crawl back. >> I know you're scared. Crawl back. >> Keep crawling. Hurry up. >> Yeah. Keep crawling. Keep crawling. Keep crawling. [laughter] >> Okay, you got it. >> Adam, go ahead. I got I mean I got um4. We got two tank. Uh OC sprayed. What's up? Oh, >> it was just so it was a crack. >> They came right out. [laughter] >> I don't know. I'm scared to look this [ __ ] >> Hey, it's funny while I think they got a police officer. There's a full gun belt in there. >> When it was all said and done, it had been a great piece of police work. All that coordination between the eye in the sky and the ground units was like a carefully orchestrated symphony. And thanks to the cops efforts, everyone was going home safe. And as for the bad guys, they were headed to the jail house. >> How y'all like that OC? She spicy, ain't it? [laughter] >> Take one. >> You have your phone taken so I can tell you where it belongs to. >> I don't of ours. Could we not click it, activate it? And >> yeah, you could, but it won't let me see it that way. I have to have the other. >> At the crime scene, they recovered the stolen vehicle, two firearms and officer's duty belt and other miscellaneous contraband. The investigation remains active. While car chases are dangerous, the general public appreciates the efforts of law enforcement to catch up with the escaping criminals. Desperate as they are, these daring suspects take escape to the next level. But with the cops on their tail, their escape attempts rarely go as planned.
