stealing is wrong we all know that but some people just can't help themselves now stealing a loaf of bread when you're hungry or maybe something to drink that can be overlooked but stealing a cop car just for the thrill of it that's a whole new level of crazy but believe it or not insane high jackings like this happen a lot let's get right into it with our first high-speed chase officer Kevin Jerome was called to the scene after a taxi drove away with someone's luggage because he couldn't pay for the ride the officer made a report of the situation and went to tell the victim that the conflict was a civil matter between him and the taxi company however when he turned around a female named d to Laura Hawkins hopped in his car and sped away got in your car top car what 60 F A girl just gotten 60 and took off she's Northbound Woodward it was a black guy with an afro no it was a it was a female it was a female with a white T-shirt or something I thought it was a male damn it looked like a black female Short afro yeah I seen her walk across Woodward I was talking to the gentleman on my run I had my back turned another gentleman just said hey that girl just got in your [Applause] car officer John Heath was in pursuit of the stolen vehicle and was one of the first officers on the scene when Destiny Hawkins crashed the cop car Destiny's Adventure was cut short by an 80 plus mph encounter with the rear end end of a GMC Yukon at the intersection of 7 Mile in stoel in Detroit in the car still get the out of the car the car now the car [Applause] [Music] Wonder come what are you in [Music] custody anyone else in the car I didn't see anyone else I don't think [Music] so let me sneak through 64 we need rescue yes we resc for the two invol the suspect is placed in cuffs and taken to the back seat of a different Cop Car the officers make sure to let her know that what she did was extremely dangerous and that she put many lives in danger because she wanted to go for a joy ride Destiny hit speeds of up to 100 mph in a 35 mph Zone and 92 mph in a 25 mph Zone and this caused multiple accidents all the cars involved in the yes sir just so we make sure is dpd on scene I didn't they're not but he um how many Crashers are there one there one here two cars over there I got her license right here I ran her already you want me to send her Ops you okay yes we need rescue for uh the two involved the other crash you want to let dpd know I'm 10d is I'm going to have an ambulance come check out okay do you have your driver's license I can start writing down who I'm talking to luckily for everyone involved in the accidents no one was seriously injured the officer takes a statement from the man who was in the GMC and the driver of the black Toyota he makes sure they're okay and lets them know that an ambulance is on the way to the scene to check them out one of the officers on the scene explains to the captain what happened how Destiny got possession of the vehicle and what he did to catch up to her what did you what do you know I was working on the arrest report and then n in Woodward and I said what has he got and then he says okay 60 sto in North Woodward he was out talking with somebody was the vehicle in a traffic lane with an emergency equipment on I I don't know he was out talking to somebody so I don't know if it was in the parking lane or if it was in the traffic lane I don't know okay somebody like and the dude one of the investigated related he was was who was dispatch on something I think it was a medical or a susp person yeah so yeah and then when they said it was on 696 I was just getting on and they said it was going north on 75 I was just on the ramp past the point of being able to correct and they're like no it's going south then I had to go to 11 M then I made it back when we're blocking 9 M the ab wasn't worth a no it's not real time officer Kevin Jerome arrives on the scene to find his poor cop car smashed before making his way to the captain he tells the other officer what happened and how his car was stolen in the blink of an eye dude I was at the bus stop talking to someone about his luggage of being stolen she just runs and jumps in huh she walked across Woodward and got in it and some D was like hey she just got in your car yeah she has short hair out 63 is it drivable or do we need my hands sidewalk guys please when Destiny got to jail they asked her why she stole the cop car she said she just wanted to have a little fun endangering lives isn't a way to have some fun though and Destiny Hawkins is not going to have fun while she's in prison the 24-year-old was taken to the Oakland County Jail with a $250,000 cash bond for felony charges of auto theft and third degree fleeing and alluding did Broadview height so Ohio on the 16th of September 2021 an officer responded to the house of a woman who was allegedly trying to enter her neighbor's cars this woman named Mary Taylor called 911 a few times earlier that day because her 2-year-old daughter was allegedly kidnapped and taken to Illinois when they finally arrived on the scene Mary refused to speak to them and left her house she then hopped into a Broadview Heights patrol car and sped away 17 radio Cassie just came out of the back door she she has my car yes Jeff you got spikes going affir all right we're just coming up on the golf course I'm 231 Bridge all right I'm behind him we're coming up to you now doing about 70 M [Music] hour negative we're just passing Hawkins just coming over the bridge off back [Applause] off radio we're coming up on 77 the spike strips were somewhat successful but the officers were still in Hot Pursuit the right front tire was damaged but she still continue to drive at speeds of up to 75 mph the suspect speeds through the traffic and switches Lanes constantly and as you can see there's a lot of smoke coming from her tires just coming up on the rest area coming up on the 142 she's slowing down she's running on the the suspect slowed down and that was the perfect opportunity for the cops to stop the car the officers boxed in the driver's stolen vehicle but she still kept trying to get away she hopped out of the car and made a break for it luckily the officers were right behind her she hit me she hit me we got her stops we got to she's running she's running all right move over move [Music] over they got her [Applause] [Music] [Applause] 141 over [Applause] two custody stay firm advise them they have damaged to two of their vehicles [Music] you want to move mine so we can get traffic through there injur he's not injured the suspect is placed in the backseat of the cop car and taken to jail it also turned out that her story about her 2-year-old daughter being kidnapped was alive her daughter was staying with another family member because of toller's mental status and inability to care for the child Mary Toller was charged with disrupting Public Services three counts of theft and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer next up we have a crazy man who didn't really steal a cop car but was busted trying to steal a train in Columbus Ohio on June 7th 2023 Columbus officers received a distress call from the Nori Southern Railroad Police Department reporting that a person was lying on the railroad tracks and as the train approached he managed to evade the locomotive but he then started throwing rocks breaking windows and finally climbing at top the engine here's what happened when officers arrived on the scene drop that's trained to deal with mentally unstable people or calls related to substance abuse the suspect decides that he's done with talking and he jumps off the front and goes inside the Train the officers quickly follow behind him hey come out again bud what I don't know what the he has dude yeah but if he's liting them open it up [Music] the officers know that the suspect is armed he had a hammer that he threw to the ground and still had flares in his hands when he entered the train again these flares could be used to burn or to Blind the officers and since the suspect has already been inside the train previously they don't know if he's hidden any other dangerous weapons inside the officers walk around and enter from another entrance got get out of here get up from the [Music] back was [Music] where where you at how did I get down there you got yeah move to the move to your a second group of officers arrive on the scene and open the door from where the suspect initially entered the suspect was right at the door so the officers didn't even have to go into the train to pull him out let me see your it's a flare hey what's up man let me see your hands give me your gun okay here might push an officer down or maybe make a break for it instead before getting off the train the suspect simply asked really random questions take here be the president Trump or who doesn't matter to him after he went to jail but it is presumed that this was an MCR case and that the suspect was not in his right mind we can only hope that he got the treatment he needed and is now doing well on the 28th of March 2022 an officer was sent to a call about a theft in progress a 44-year-old woman named Lita was triying to steal a bus filled with passengers when she first entered the bus the passengers were shocked when they realized that she wasn't the bus driver Lita continuously tried to put the bus in drive but failed and couldn't get the bus to move an inch so she got out and started to talk to an RTA employee by myself I'm the only one out here really trying to have a conversation to deal with people and individuals where's man Welling at where's M at where's n well where's Mike DNE you're putting me in the corner where president Trump for a fight come on you go stop just lay down no I'm down I'm down I'm down I'm down you can't I'm down I'm down I'm down I'm down I'm down fasten her seat belt she tells the officer that he should close the door and leave her alone the officer whose patrol car it is asked for her name and let's just say that it didn't go well for her don't patronize me just take Paton what the hell's going on don't patronize me please just take me where the you want me to be at why don't know who you are yet respectfully speaking I don't even know who you are yet so I can't take any well you going to take me to jail that's what you was going to do anyways you was going to tase the out of me and contain me so just take go take me contain me you know who I am I know who you are well then then J we just go sit here until you figure it out I don't want to play your mind game I guess she tried to jump in I mean I just pulled up and she was standing right here screaming everybody what happed she jumped she jumped on the coach and tried to take the bus this is one of these no big bus 43 um now we said she tried to take it got behind the driver's seat was trying to take the bus was was the bus on and running it was on and running the driver got up went to the restroom they do every day question one got y'all keep leading me to incarceration y'all keep leading me to a situation when all I'm asking for is my education I'm not asking you for a sandwich I'm not asking you for a ride I'm asking for some patience for me to get my education I'm a sin Clair student when I get there and I can't even get there on time my name is Lita I by Lita because I'm recently currently in separation now you know my name now I tell another officer my name guess what they going to do they going to do the same thing that you guys are doing and put me in handcuffs and go put me incarceration the worker tells the officers that when Lita got on the bus a few passengers ran out and yelled that she was taking the bus that's when the worker went to the bus and confronted her Lita yelled at the worker and kept on asking her if she wanted change while all this is happening Lita is still going on talking to the officer you I'm an over and then send me to Premier hospital and inject me with some more uh uh uh talking powder because psychology want to play with me huh no all right right so now just now you got my name first time meet you my name is Deon hi Deon now that you have my name please just take me to jail because that's what they're going to do anyways and if you're not going to take me to jail then let me up out of here so I can keep calming down cuz I'm about to leave this city and go find a life that I don't have to deal with all this extra headache and nonsense nobody loves the out of any body who's actually trying to do somebody they just want somebody to get high I don't want to get high I don't want to be on dope she just crazy you guys know her no she's not telling me anything and I said I I kept telling her I said we'll take it wherever you want to go you just tell me where you want to go but you can't take the bus to go and she's talking about and all this and that I mean she's just all over the place and then that guy right there with his pants halfway down he's on the ground I don't know oh do I have to go out in the pasture and stump on at my damn self huh no do you need me to go out here and pick cotton no I want to go get my education Lita Matthews continues her rant and tells the officer that he isn't trying to help her she kept on defending her actions and saying that she didn't do Grand Theft Auto and honestly she's right for a Grand Theft Auto she'd actually have to get the bus to move AO what you going to hit me with teristic threatening next because I said you obviously have a disability and we all have one if anything you could have said something different than that Grand Theft Auto this is not a video game this is not a video game this is not Grand Theft Auto did you hear what you just said Grand Theft Auto you should have said moral comback and I'd have got a joke out of it I'd have laughed a little harder moral comback that's what this is Moral Combat all yall want to do is see how I took them down at the goddamn crazy it's not happening I don't give a about all the hoop everybody said back in the past yeah I'm your un cooperator this whole city is UN cooperating with the innocent the you just lied on me you keep lying on me so now I'm going start the officers had to pull her out of the car to get her into the jail once they booked her she was charged with theft resisting arrest and obstructing official business now if you think that was crazy just wait till you see what the next suspect tried to pull on the 11th of November 2023 officers responded to a call about a theft happening at a local gas station in Lacrosse Wisconson Cody Anderson was trying to buy some cigarettes but he didn't have his ID with him so they couldn't sell him any he responded by grabbing the cigarettes from the employee and running out of the store the officers arrived on the scene and immediately talked to the store employee basically what happened is he came in he wanted to buy two carton of cigarettes and I said can I see your ID cuz he looked younger I didn't recognize him he goes I don't have my ID I'm like I'm sorry I cannot sell them to you and he's like I'll do anything what do you want how much is it going to cost what do you want I said I can't sell them to you he's like grabbed them from my hands and took off running out the door so I started chasing them and then I'm like I'm not supposed to do that adrenaline was flowing and so I said I'm calling the cops well then Tony said he did drop a $100 bill out there not 100 bucks I have no idea what does it cost it's like 200 oh really oh yeah do you have any video of the guy Mar's reaching for the cigarettes Mary grabbed them there I go chase after I'll see if I can identify him and you know have him come back and pay for the rest 25 minutes later Cody decided to do something even crazier he ran his car through a locked gate of the lacrosse Regional Airport workers at the airport said they saw him doing multiple Donuts around one of the airplanes and then driving down the runway before he stopped close to a small jet he got on the jet he got on the jet I know before I copyed that he also did a display a knife and I believe he's going to be my suspect from Quick magic vehicle airpl ready to start ready I can hit the door one time and open well must wait so we get enough people here oh he's got a knife on the plane no but he has access and he hasn't powered up can you shut it off from here no yeah right through it he actually just sold the two cartons he's up in the window he's putting his on hey open the door open the door come out get out now I'm going to be there I can see him over here the officers were able to hit Cody once with a bean bag round but he continued to wave around his knife one of the officers sneaks up to the plane and deploys a can of pepper spray in an attempt to get Cody out of the plane however that only made Cody even more erratic and then he said something to the officers that no one could have expected Police bar come on now I will cut you I am a suicide bomber you're under arrest come out allahar there's no vehicle button I94 he's saying Allah Akbar and that he's a suicide bomber come out with your hands job do it now can get you to a bathroom I can tell you that there's one right in the hanger off well you can only back up if you're starting to come out though Bud come on you're not moving man because I got shot in the leg okay well we'll get you some help for that but we got to have you move if we move okay come to the top of the stair come to the top it'll give you the bom okay come to the top of the stairs no come on no we're back pretty far man back off it'll give you the bom well we backed up and you didn't come to the stairs you're still C4 so you didn't get okay can't back off that far we'll take two more steps back if you come to the top of the stairs okay Cody we're going to throw you a little camera to look at okay you can talk to it all right it's going to be right in the middle here on up brother we'll get you to the bathroom he just stole two cars of cigarett from trip same suspect clear the officers talk a bit and realize that there's an even bigger problem at the moment if Cody even has a slight idea of how to fly a plane he could easily turn the plane and take off luckily workers at the airport realize that they can disable the Jet's battery at the back of the plane and all the officers have to do now is get Cody off that plane without anyone getting hurt don't want to hurt stand me here we got to stabilize all right good we got SP clear the rest quick is that a bed cigarettes here there's my stolen cigarettes y found my stolen cigarettes he's my my uh suspect in my cigarettes that you guys check for T no I not I don't know where they're I don't know if they hit them or not Cody got six charges after this incident with felony counts of attempted carjacking with a weapon attempted robbery with threat of force making terrorist threats bombb scares failure to comply and misdemeanor criminal damages to property lacrosse officers gave this case to the FBI so Cody might even get more charges at it Cody Anderson's cash Bond was set at $500,000 and as of right now Cody might get a plea deal and be sent to the Mota State Hospital Daniel Barton was arrested for the first time in December 2022 by Milwaukee Police after he stole a police vehicle the suspect can be heard giggling as he drove off in the police officer's car who stopped him for a routine traffic stop looks like uh somebody just stole my vehicle heading uh nor okay did you say your vehicle for vehicle 106 heading uh sou on Holton street lights is still on uh [Applause] what [Applause] and ke in R we have GPS on that car yeah there GPS on the car6 number 106 the guys running W Richards it's a white male blue jacket in the previous dash cam footage we see Daniel get out of the car and make a break for it the officers look around the area and find him inside one of the trash cans the suspect is held at gunpoint by the officer but he doesn't even seem to be phased 855 come up to the put your hands on your head I don't have a cave sorry now after this one might think Daniel Barton would stop stealing cop cars but oh no after the first incident the 34-year-old was released on bond however 6 months later in March 20123 he stole another cop car from Shorewood police what is that your squad what the that's your squad 908 dispatch uh someone just stole my squad West on Capital unlock this [Applause] oh get these Dr got thr the sounds good can't take me nowhere what are you doing why are you taking time Daniel Barton was deemed competent to face charges and was charged with misdemeanor Cara Heather worth chief of shorwood police states that they're conducting a review of
