cops often do the most and in many cases take advantage of a civilian lack of proper knowledge of the law to pull a fast one on them but who would have thought that these same cops could be humbled by kids who know their rights here are some instances where cops got humbled by kids let me see your ID you can't get my ID did I commit a crime or am I being detained I'm not even the one driving the years ago in 2015 where an East Palo Alto police officer was put in his place by a couple of teens in their vehicle for no clear reason the officer had pulled over the car after noticing the teens blasting music and demanded their IDs however these teens weren't scared as they knew their rights and refused to provide any information citing that it was their constitutional right not to do so here's what transpired he just looking for something hey David you don't have to give him information huh you what yeah it's a Honda you can't hear that's far it's a hybrid it's a hybrid can't hear it you're right you're right how you guys doing good good we do anything wrong or first you flying down the road SM second can't smash a what your hey guys you might give me your IDs n see your ID me see driving said you're in the vehicle that committed a crime no it's not crime you just accused me of committing a crime after he just in the same vehicle that committed a crime how do you know it's this vehicle if he just said it's the description of the vehicle it doesn't matter what do you have a license plate of this at the very least he was right no he was not did he clock him detain me for what n watch out get out of the car get out obstructing obstructing words you don't have any you're being detained right now detained for what what crime did I commit down your phone I'm taking your phone the teen repeatedly reiterated his rights explaining that he wasn't even the one driving and that there was no need to provide information since he was n being detained despite his calm and knowledgeable demeanor he was eventually pulled out of the vehicle and detained nevertheless it was clear that the officers were put in their place by the teen who stood firm in his rights and didn't budge to their tactics but if you thought this was the only time corrupt cops were put in their place by kids then you definitely need to see the next case I didn't do anything against your instructions you came this guy came into my house without a warrant without any probable cause let me just talk for a second I said I don't know anything and he tackled me in my house he told you to stop right he did not say anything of the sort offic thing this is the case of a 15-year-old kid named Jack who left the cops in shame with the way he despite being just a kid humbled them by knowing his right so well Park City police officers Officer Rodriguez officer Proctor and officer wear had gained illegal entry using excessive force into the Utah residence of a citizen who happened to be Jack's father while these officers were were attempting to forcibly detain his father Jack immediately started filming the scene reciting the law to the officers and informing them that the arrest was unjust despite Jack's quick thinking and knowledge of the law the officers ignored him and went on to tase his father dragging him out of the house in front of Jack here's how the scene unfolded is crazy officer me and you right okay yeah I'm fine sh no no he can talk he can talk while Jack filmed the arrest two of the officers including Sergeant Thor attempted to intimidate him warning him not to interfere with their arrest however Jack stood his ground and continued recording making it clear that he knew his Rights Watch as he rightfully puts them in their place giving them the Walk of Shame after being humbled by a mere kid I can talk because I what's your B what's what's your name step back look look he just touched you can record all you want but you're stepping back right now house at so you were the one driving up and down the street on the motorcycle uh I was on my gas bicycle okay that's gas powered vehicle you have to have a driver's license um no you don't not one it's 50 cc and you have a permit for it I'm standing next to my car so I'm going to go talk to over here can I go around him yeah go please don't walk behind me okay um I asked him so did did they site and we're telling you the truth and he's telling you the truth so but no one's talked to us yet and that's where we're trying to get I understand that okay all right so that's what so and then what happened after that point after separated or um we walked back inside and uh yeah and now you guys are here coming in the house and I don't know why he's detained I don't know why he's getting was driving in his vehicle when he suddenly stopped and apprehended a teenager walking along the road for flicking him the middle finger here's what played out during the interaction on a male subject radio by rivercross why you giving me the finger what what's your problem what why you giving me the finger I'm walking away huh am I free to go why you give me the finger am I free to go no come here cops is not enough cause for police apprehension as US law protects this gesture under the First Amendment as a form of free speech courts have ruled that unless the suspect's actions include behavior that could cause harm create a disturbance or threaten Public Safety the gesture alone doesn't justify detention or arrest however if it's accompanied by dangerous or disruptive actions an arrest speeding a 17-year-old passer fully aware of her rights confidently takes control of the situation leaving the officer speechless her smart yet assertive handling of the officers catches him off guard quick sure um how are we getting a ticket for speeding if we were following you and your lights were not on cuz I was trying to catch up to somebody but your lights and why were you following me you were I'm saying you were in front of us and your lights weren't on so we were going your speed so how are we getting a ticket cuz your speeding but that means you were as well that's because I'm doing
