Yo, >> get down. Get down. Get down. Get down. Get down. Get out. Get out. Get out. >> I know what she's looking for. It's just a regular bra like this. It's I know what I have on. It's It's just this. >> Get out right now. >> Get out. >> It has nothing to do with it. >> In the past few years, retail giants have invested more and more in security and surveillance. With all the latest technology aiding loss prevention and law enforcement, it's easier to catch these thieves in the act. In today's episode, we'll watch seven times these shoplifterss got busted at Walmart and other stores. >> What? Me? >> Yeah. >> Come get my Come get this stuff. >> Yeah. Come to come and get your stuff. >> I'm I'm outside. I'm parked outside. >> I know, but you're going to go with me. On the 20th of February 2026, a woman was caught swapping price tags at a Walmart selfch checkckout. When an officer arrived, she'd already been taken to loss prevention along with the items she tried to steal. >> Hi, >> good afternoon. >> We haven't gotten everything just yet. Oh, >> but if you look like just on those boots alone, those boots are $56, but it's got a tag on it for >> Okay. >> And I'm just going by tags are on it. Okay. >> 366 cheese. >> How much? >> 366. Have you been arrested for any kind of retail theft or anything in the past? >> Okay. [music] >> And we was going with what was on it. >> I had a girl at the at the register. >> Monroe County, Florida. Theft and forgery. >> That was years ago. >> Okay. These are These are for life, though. >> The officer explained to the woman that due to her [music] previous conviction, even stealing small items like a stick of gum could result in a felony. Amazingly, she then had the audacity to ask the officer if she'd get a refund on the amount she'd paid. >> We would just I mean, cuz you I'm just going with what was on the items. So I don't know. >> And usually whenever tags are wrapped around things like that, we don't think that the check out was honest like it was supposed to be. We get a lot of people like taking tags and sticking them to things. I understand that >> comp a little bit more complex. >> I mean, if I get the difference, I don't know what the difference adds up to, but if not, it's okay, too. >> I have to see what he wants to do. Guy that just like he's the boss. >> I'm okay with it either way. Normally we don't uh make up the difference. >> Normally not. >> No. >> Okay. And that's okay. I know they're I don't know what it adds up to, but >> Okay. >> You got a ballpark figure? >> No. No, sir. >> I'm sorry, but >> I mean it Yeah, I r everything up. I don't like as far as the tags, the store is crazy with clearance. It's like I said, uh, usually when the tags, like I said, are wrapped around like that or like not supposed to be there, >> we usually think that's how our >> I mean, I can see where you would assume that. >> I get a lot of it. We get a lot of >> Do you really? >> Yeah. A lot. >> Oh, yes. Yes. >> The suspect then tried acting like she didn't know the tags had been switched. And to make sure she didn't get caught in the future, she'd go to an employee at the checkout. However, when the employee came back with an itemized list, it became clear pretty quickly that she knew exactly what she was doing. >> So, $198 is going to total up to be off of it. That's what the the theft and also the uh stuff that wasn't. And then this is what she actually scanned and paid for was >> 31. So, 160 bucks. >> Yeah. At least still 160 bucks. >> Okay. All right. >> Do I get a difference for it or >> It's 31. No, it's actually $31 is is is all that you paid for, but it was 200 after taxes is $ 215, but we don't do taxes usually on that. So, it was $198 of merchandise that was either stolen or ticket switched, so it was a different price. >> Wow. >> Wow. Well, I'll be going through a live person from now on. I'm not doing selfch checkout anymore. That's crazy. Even though I had a little bit of help, you know, with her with the big items. >> Yeah. Do you have somebody's gonna be able to come and get your uh stuff? >> What? Me? >> Yeah. >> Come get my Come get this stuff. >> Yeah. Come to come and get your stuff. >> I'm I'm outside. I'm parked outside. >> I know, but you're going to go with me cuz you're going to be placed under arrest for It's a felony. I explained it to you a minute ago. >> Oh my god. No. Please. >> No. I mean, they don't they don't have any leeway on it. I mean, that's their policy. >> Yeah. >> No, I didn't. Yeah. >> Yeah. I mean, that's >> No, please. >> That's quite a bit. >> What? >> Yeah. The the Okay, so the dollar the dollar amount >> the difference. >> Yeah. Yeah. But that we're way past that. The dollar amount part of it isn't the issue because if it was $300, it would be a felony in of itself. But I if you if you were to go in here and pick up a package of gum and walk out with it, that's a felony. >> Be happy to pay whatever all the amount is. >> We're way past that. I mean, that's >> How can we be past that? We're we're past that. >> I didn't like I was only bringing up what was >> Okay. If you had one item, >> if you had one item that maybe had a a funky tag on you, scan it. Oh my god, it's an oops. >> I will I will >> How many we got? >> According to the employee, at least a dozen items hadn't been paid for in full, and four or five of those items she'd flat out stolen. As for the suspect, she was keeping up the whole innocent act, saying she'd forgotten to scan them because she had so many items. I can pay for everything and not keep it. >> So So once [clears throat] you walked out that door, it's now a crime. We we've got to follow our policies cuz if I don't follow the policies on you, then I then I can't follow it on anybody else. So it's unfortunate about it, but >> it's so it was not my intention. I swear it wasn't. >> If you trespass me, please just trespass me. out. >> Despite the woman's begging, they weren't going to simply trespass her. When security caught up with her, she'd already headed out of the store and had passed all points of sale. She'd already committed a crime at that point, and there was no taking it back. >> There's no way you could >> No. No. >> Oh, God. Really? What is going to happen? I mean, >> what's I'm sorry. What? >> I don't know what's going to happen. >> Okay. So, we will take you up to the sheriff's department. They will process you in. Uh you will have a uh detention hearing on Monday at which time they'll probably re release you on your own recgnissance >> on Monday. >> Uhhuh. >> Spending the weekend of jail? >> Yes. Yes. Yeah. There's uh the court was today at 1:00. So we've already missed court for the day. >> Let me out on my own. >> They will Monday. >> I'm I'm almost sure of it because you only have one prior conviction. >> What? Oh my god. You don't think they're going to let me out? I can't. >> They will Monday. They'll let money bond. >> No, there's there is Illinois doesn't have any bond anymore. It's a uh Yeah, it's a bail free state. >> Let me out on my own. >> No, they will. Monday they will. Generally speaking, >> I will pay for anything that needs to be done. >> I mean, we're past that. >> Oh my god. Please. Oh my god. No. Please let me Can I just I will pay for all of it. >> Okay. That's That's like buying insurance after you have a wreck. It doesn't I mean, it doesn't count. You You've already We've already gotten to this point with it. Once reality started to set in with the woman, she asked the officer if she could call her boyfriend and the officer allowed her. She also had to go to the restroom. So, one of the female employees went in with her. While the officer waited outside, the suspect's boyfriend entered the store. >> Yeah. So, she's got a cart full of stuff that's paid for in her purse and everything. So, uh >> it's it's in the AP office. We'll get it out here for you here in just a second where we'll bring her out and let you have the cart. was $22 for an account. >> Oh, okay. Well, that's wasted. >> Can you get my stuff? >> Yeah, we're going to turn it over to him. >> You're turning it over to him? >> No, we're going to turn your your cart and your your purse and your >> text. Sean, I hear >> I'm on the phone. Take take my phone. >> At that point, they led the suspect out to the squad car where she made excuses about needing her reading glasses and her medication. But since her boyfriend could bring those to jail for her, there was no point in delaying her arrest. They charged the woman with felony theft. On the 17th of January 2025, the cops were dispatched to Walmart to deal with two shoplifterss, later identified as Nathan and Abby. When the officers got there, they found the suspects at the checkouts. And as far as Abby went, she had a really bad attitude. >> Okay. >> Okay. We're going to walk back to the asset protection office. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, right now, you're being on the risk of retail. >> I paid for it. >> We're going to follow them. Okay. >> I I had to pay for my Are you kidding me? >> Hey, don't play games. >> I'm not. >> Okay. So, we're going to follow them to the asset protection office. Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. Um, can I get this get this paid for so he can take my truck? >> Worry about that here in a minute. Okay. >> Okay. So, hold it then. Or how does this work? >> Did you pay for that yet? >> I'm trying. I'm getting it. My car's locked. I can't get it unlocked. So, I'm taking care of it. >> Leave it. We'll take care of this. >> All right. Perfect. >> I'll see you in a minute, I guess. >> Yeah. >> Hey, don't worry about it. Don't be mauy. >> Oh, I'm more than that cuz I have seats for everything. >> That's perfectly fine. Despite the woman's bad attitude, they followed the employees into the asset protection office without further argument. Actually, [music] they seem surprisingly cooperative. >> I don't mind. I got one on here. >> It's okay. >> You got your receipt for the transaction. >> Which one? I did a couple. >> I have several receipt you grabbed off the registry. >> Oh, that's fine. I just got grab that for fetch cuz I use a fetch point. >> One second. It's not. >> No, you dive here. >> Okay. >> Okay. There's stuff in there. >> Okay. And where? >> What is in my purse? >> That's mine from Bath and Body Works. So, please look again. >> Yeah. Come on. We don't steal. >> It's from Bath and Body Works. >> You have the receipt for this stuff. >> Yes. >> Nathan claimed that he'd never been caught stealing anything. While Abby started pulling the receipts out, trying to back her claims up that she hadn't been shoplifting. They were trying hard to prove their innocence, but the evidence suggested otherwise. >> Okay, these is not wrong here. This is this >> We were just paying for the dog for the >> paying for the dog for the oil change handles. >> And then there was other stuff. >> This is the stopper before switched very obviously. >> Yeah. That's called the ceiling. So you can say I didn't feel all you want, but >> Okay. No, I didn't. One, I wasn't going to say like I didn't do that. But he had no part of it. He didn't even know what was going on. >> He was with you the entire time. >> No, he wasn't. That last half, you can watch. He walked back to the entire back to >> Ma'am. Ma'am, what's your first name? >> Abby McCollum. >> Abby, please stand up and come over here, please. >> Okay, put your hands behind your back. going to rest up. >> Okay. >> But really, he had nothing. She had no idea. I promise. Not that my promise means anything, but it doesn't. >> This way doesn't tighten up on you. >> Yep. >> Anything else from your person that's going to hurt me publicly speak? >> I believe so. I think I'm here. Once Abby was handcuffed, she was asked to sit back down while asset protection continued going through the items in her trolley. But despite the fact she admitted to swapping the tag, she claimed there was one more item she'd truly forgotten to scan. The officer then gave her a chance to explain why she had been shoplifting. >> And why are we tax switching today? >> I'm not paying for everything. >> I honestly some of this that I really did forget, I really didn't mean to take. I will be 100%. The tax I honestly did do. >> Okay. >> And I'm sorry for it, but I >> do. have the money to pay for everything? >> Yeah, I can take care of it. I was trying to pay for it whenever you told me to reward it later. >> No, I know that the rest of that stuff, but the other I do. I can pay for it. So, >> if you'd like me to pay for it, I'll pay for it right now. >> I was just I'm just curious. Um, you have cash or credit cards? [music] >> I have my card. >> Nate has my cards. >> Yep. Okay. Um, so, but why tag switch? Is it a fix? Is it >> It was honestly it was I wanted to get a couple of things I needed. I shouldn't have. I was wrong. I knew. or were you tax switching? Just >> some little stuff [music] that I shouldn't have even that was stupid to do. >> When Abby was asked if she had been convicted of retail theft before she admitted to being accused of stealing $20 from work, but said the case was later dropped. She then got pretty concerned, thinking she might get charged for stealing a felony amount. >> Can somebody talk to me like really about business and wait just about it real quick? because I paid for a hundred of that stuff and I'm trying to see what's qualified and how that works. Then >> what? >> I paid for a hundred of the stuff back. So it was 100% back at the automotive counter of the stuff I was trying to pay for which would be like oil change would be the dog food [music] would be the candles would be you know what I mean that stuff and there was a Sally's pl is a misdemeanor >> and >> Okay. All right. Um, your other stuff that you paid for, we'll just give it back to Nathan. That way he can have it later. >> Correct. >> Okay, perfect. But 100 was taken off at the register and I owed $53 still on that balance and that's what he told me. Don't take it. Don't worry about taking care of it. >> No, I guarantee to not do that. And I don't want him to not >> just said they did. >> He took care of the over there. I didn't hear Nathan talk. I'm sorry. >> All the stuff on the counter. Yeah, I said they take care of it later. >> Yeah, that's what I was trying to take care of cuz you took $100 off my card already and I'm trying to pay the remaining amount. >> If I need to send Nathan in to pay it, I just need to know that. >> Well, we're going to go talk to Nathan cuz I'm going to have him come back and get all your property. Okay, >> perfect. >> All right. >> After confirming which items she still had to pay for, they escorted Abby out to the officer squad car. They charged the woman with retail theft and furthermore Walmart trespasser from all of their properties. On August 27th, 2025, a woman was caught shoplifting in a Walmart. Shockingly, as she was committing her crime, she'd taken her newborn baby. As a result, a welfare officer was called in as well as the cops. >> What are you doing, Amanda? >> I know, baby. Listen, my son just I missed my son at my house. >> Oh, he's your son. >> Is that where all the stuff is in the cart? >> I'm trying. I'm trying. I'm trying. But I don't know. I can't win all these things. Who's this? This is my son Jackson. Hi, Jackson. >> Oh, he's beautiful. Yes. >> Do you have your ID? >> Oh, yes. I'm sorry. >> So, obviously you're being stopped reference to if that's investigation and at this point you are detained. So, they want to advise you of your Miranda rights. >> Once the officer had Mirandaized the woman whose name was Amanda, she freely admitted to committing the crime. But when they asked her why she'd been stealing, she didn't have an answer. Even more baffling, the items she was trying to steal were in no [music] way essential. >> Purse the baby car is what they said. And she's stuck a bunch of wax melts and some other stuff possibly in her. I know it was not wax melts in her purse. >> Yeah. >> Well, this is >> the bag is itself. >> And she's got stuff in her purse. this up. >> Well, he's got the first. >> Is it just this? >> She had a bunch of that one. >> It wasn't the first time she had been caught stealing at the store with the last occurrence being in November 2024. The employees confirmed they'd be trespassing her this time, and the cops had to take action as well. >> So, she said she has prior. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. She was on it, but every time I was walking >> where >> Oh, missed that basketball. >> Yeah, you've had prior theft from the same same store. You know, you know, you know this whole ordeal and you're stealing stuff that's not a not a necessity. >> Makeup and wax and all that. Okay, call someone. Get come get your child. >> Oh my god, man. Before calling a family member like they told her, she first asked the cops if they knew how much her bond would be. The officer said that until they got to the jail house, they couldn't give an [music] exact amount, but they did give the woman a rough estimate. >> I will talk to you about everything. I'm going to go to jail. I think it's $157. >> Anywhere between $150 and $300 probably. Yeah. >> Whatever the fees are tacked on $150 >> right here. You're going to me probably 200 something. 220, you say? M1 $1,000 bond. 10% is 100 bucks plus your bonding fee. Should be 15175. >> To complicate matters, she also had another son who had to be picked up at the bus station. While she explained things to her brother, a Walmart employee produced a receipt for the stolen items. And at $260, it was [music] a substantial total. >> At this point, you are trespassing all Walmart properties and that includes Sam's Club and Murphy's Oil, the gas station. If you come back, you'll be charged with trespassing. You understand that? >> You feel like you cancel that form? >> Oh, I think he's probably the cutest baby I've ever seen in my online your party cam whenever they come. >> And you guys, I'm really not a bad person. I'm really bad. >> No one thinks you are a bad person. >> I can vouch for that. I've known Amanda for many years. The social worker explained that when they called her out to the store, she'd heard it was a woman with a baby, but didn't realize it was Amanda. All she wanted to do was find out what was happening and see if she could help. >> I wish I would have thought about this before. >> You go tell Michelle that. Tell her that you're working with me and you're going to go to treatment and then I'll make sure that you're go to treatment. Like, I'm not going to I'm not going to lie to Michelle to get you out of jail. But the whole thing is you need to do treatment. I would like for you to do treatment. I have no problem with that. >> I would like for you not to miss three months of his life. >> So, it would be nice if we could find a place where you could take him. >> That was and truthfully, you know, like it's really hard to work on yourself because they wouldn't want I had to go to sleep for 30 days because I got caught driving without >> and so she sent me there instead of jail. >> That's nice. >> They wanted me to put him in daycare. Well, I did and they were just not >> good with it. So I packed him for 30 days and I couldn't do anything. Like I couldn't even I couldn't sit down. I couldn't stand up. It was just so hard. >> And so if I go to treatment, I hate to say this cuz I love him so much, >> but I would rather go to be able to work on myself than to go just >> be taking care of him and trying to work on yourself. That's the one thing. I get it. >> Yeah. Once they agreed on a plan to get Amanda the help she needed. She then made another call regarding her other son who was still stuck at the bus station. Shortly after her brother showed up to collect the baby and also to help bonding her out. >> Hey Sarah, >> how you doing? >> Can you please turn my >> confirm device? >> Yes. Hey baby. >> Hey, >> baby. >> Is there any holders? >> Holders or what? >> Yeah. >> So, I don't want to pay a bond and then have >> I have no >> At this point, all there is is a theft charge. Again, I like I told her, I can't I don't know what Gilman will do, but the probation officer, I don't know what she'll do. >> She can get bonded out tonight. >> Yes, she can get bonded out. Again, I don't know what the what will come tomorrow at court. Gilman get they might put a holder on tomorrow court. I don't know. That's up to the probation department tomorrow. It's not gonna be done tonight or anything. >> I've been talking to Josh. If if anything happens and you and you get >> Listen, if anything happens, Joey, it's good to watch. >> No, I I talked to Josh. He's got a good I trust Josh and his babysitters. >> Hey, Payton and mom. Payton and mom. Mom's going to come stay the house. Payton's going to have to help out. >> You were not left. >> I lo my stupid >> I get it. Okay. Hey, I'm not going to argue with you. >> I know. I know. I get it, too, Amanda. But >> you don't get it. >> I don't I know. >> See, because it's not you that does it. So, no, you don't get it. >> I do get it, Amanda. We're a family. So, this makes it to where I have to worry about how what I'm going to do with the kids while I'm working. Who's going to have my kids? >> I'm not worried about that right now. >> They arrested Amanda and she was taken to a squad car. And at that point, she said she didn't need drug rehab, but she did need help with her impulsiveness and how to make better decisions. They charged the woman with felony theft. On the 11th of April, 2025, at a Target in South Florida, a man and a woman were caught shoplifting. When the officers got there, they found the suspects in the parking lot and immediately moved in to apprehend them. Get down. Get down. Get down. Get down. Get down. >> Get out. Get out. >> Get out. >> Get out. >> She's running. She's running. Go get her. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Hands behind your back. >> [screaming] >> Stop fighting. >> Stop fighting. >> Stop fighting. >> Stop fighting. >> Stop fighting. >> Oh no. >> Stop fighting before you get again. Turn around. Get on your back. >> Despite the cop's warnings that he'd have to tase her again, the woman kept on resisting. Once it was clear to the woman that her crying wasn't going to help her, she then decided that it was time for a new tactic. >> I get more. [screaming] >> Stand up through the air. Get a hold of >> him. >> I got him. Alpha one is he has one. He's >> done for the long. >> Don't do that. Get another walk. Let me get my probe remove >> at any time. She probably remain silent. Okay, >> she probably did. >> I can make no threat from Can you guys interview her for me? Meanwhile, as his partner chased the woman down, the other officer who' caught the male suspect was busy coughing him. And after the thief had pulled the stunt of trying to jump into his car, the cop was ready for more trouble. on me. I'm not moving, sir. >> Your hands. >> Alpha 6. Alpha 71. Deploy. >> Turn around. for you. >> You got any weapons on you? >> No, sir. >> Find anything in that car? What the [ __ ] were you running back in there for? >> No, I was trying to play with something. >> So, they started right here. We got weed right here. Don't reach >> for it. >> With both suspects secured now, the cops were able to search their vehicle. After seeing the man reaching in the back the way he did, they expected to find a firearm, but it was actually in the trunk where they found something truly damning. >> No, you good over there. You need another statue. >> I'm good here. I got >> I'd be willing to bet this is all stolen. >> Okay. No. >> Um, >> do you guys need somebody to go to Target? >> Yes. >> Let's go. >> What do you need? >> Uh, we need to find just everything like what they stole. We need a statement and uh a receipt. >> Then you can slide in. Come on. >> Set up. Set up. >> [crying] >> During the search of the suspect's vehicle, they found some other substances on top of the weed they'd found in his pockets. Since the woman had been tased, she had to be taken to the hospital, and one of the cops tried to question her there. >> You awake? >> Okay. >> So, who was that you were with today? Was that your boyfriend? >> What did they say? Did they call you back? >> Who is he? Just a friend. >> All right, I need your eyes open. Open your eyes. Come on. >> Now, listen. I'm going to be honest with you. There was more found in the car. Is that yours or is that his? >> Huh? >> His Okay. Do you know where he got it from? >> No. Were you with him when he got it or did he have it on him before? had a moment before. Okay. Where did he pick you up at? >> Watching her heart rate. >> Hey, stay with me now. Don't go back to sleep yet. >> Meanwhile, the man had been taken to jail. He was also questioned about the drugs they'd found. And when the officer told the man that the woman was putting all the blame on him, he was pretty quick to get defensive. Bro, >> trust me, anybody that knows my name tells you any res. >> Okay, so none of that stuff is yours. >> Yeah, but only >> as far as the suspects went, they could deny dealing drugs all they wanted, but the evidence said otherwise. They both were charged with retail theft, resisting arrest, and possession of drugs. On the 30th of January, 2026, the cops were dispatched to a Home Depot. Reportedly, a man and his wife there were concealing power tools in their shopping cart, stashing things behind the wife's purse. They went through the selfch checkout, and the only thing they paid for was the sandpaper they picked up. They then tried to leave the store along with their son, but loss prevention stopped them. >> All right, >> go ahead, step over here with us. Just go ahead and step over here with us. But then I didn't know that one thing was in the cart behind my purse. I swear to you. >> Okay. >> We'll put it in the cart. >> No, because I did. I was going to buy them and I I thought we didn't find them. >> Keep your hands out your pockets. Just go ahead and step over. >> There we go. >> All right. What's going on? Keep your hands out your pockets. Keep your hands out the pockets. >> So, what's going on today? We came here to get sandpaper >> and he he just walked up on us saying that I I took something. I didn't take nothing. I didn't take nothing. >> Okay. >> I swear to God I >> I ain't touch nothing or nothing. >> You don't have anything on your person? >> Ask them. I didn't touch nothing. >> Before meanding the couple, the cops took down a few of their details. The woman told the cops she understood her rights and was willing to talk to them, so they gave her a chance to tell her side of the story. It didn't take long for the woman to start making excuses. What are we doing here tonight? >> I was going to get sandpaper. >> Sandpaper? >> Yeah. >> Did we walk out with sandpaper? >> No, I didn't know. I was looking for jigsaw blades and I didn't know they found them and they sit in the car and my purse was in front of them. >> Okay. >> So, the entire time you had no idea. So, even when you walked out of the store, >> they were right there. I would have never my birthday. >> They were in the car or they were in my >> She must have known her excuse was weak because she then offered to pay for the stolen items and she asked the cops if they'd simply trespass her, but that's not how the law works. [music] And to make matters worse, her husband Moises had an active warrant. >> Is he going to jail? >> Um, yes. So >> this and he has a warrant. >> For what? >> He has a warrant as well. >> Can we put everything down? >> Absolutely. >> Just set it down. Doesn't need to be pretty. >> Okay, >> we can put that down, too. Do you have any family members in the area that are going to be able to hold on? >> Hold on. >> Can I give him a hug? >> Sorry. Sorry. >> Despite the fact that the man's warrant was for theft, as far as the shoplifting went, he continued to deny it. It seemed like the man seriously thought that he could avoid a trip to jail, but he did at least seem to be cooperating as they led him to a squad car. >> I got a bubble in my pocket, too, please. >> Oh, that's that's your time as well. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I got a bubble in my pocket. I do. >> What's that? >> A bubble? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> No, no, no. I don't have no dope on me. >> Okay. Okay. Um just turn off this car. What? What pocket? >> It's in my front pocket right there. >> This pocket? Nothing in my jeans pocket. My jeans. >> I got you. I got to check the jacket. >> Oh, yeah. You did, sir. >> I'm sorry, man. >> No, I got you. >> Yeah, I'm turn. [snorts] >> So, he says he's got a bubble in his pocket. >> He's got what? >> A bubble in that bag. Are you You want me to take this one or you want to take both? >> I can take this. >> Okay. >> I'm not going nowhere. You're not doing nothing. You're not doing nothing. I promise. >> No needles anymore. >> No. Hell no. I don't do nothing, man. That's why I actually bring me over here. >> That's why I actually bring you over. Realize you have any narcotics when you get to the nar. >> Yeah. No, I don't have any. What is this radio? >> After they finished a search of his pockets, then it was his wife's turn after she had arranged for someone to come and pick up their son. But when she asked what her husband was being arrested for, she had a surprising reaction to finding out about the drugs. >> What's he going for? >> Huh? What's he going for? >> Uh, he had a warrant for petty theft and then he also has drug therapy on it. >> He has a He admitted to my partner he's got a bubble pipe. He's got a met pipe and it just tested positive. You told me he's sober. Are you going to be okay in the same car with him? >> Okay. Lean against the car. People lie all the time. I know. I know. >> I just tell you, >> but people lie all the time. Even, you know, our partners. It sucks. But >> I'm just saying. I'd tell you if I had >> I know. But we still got to do our >> true. But you're not. You know what I'm saying? >> Nothing on you is going to stick, hurt, poke me. not going to get mad that I'm stuck with the needle or something like that. >> That's another charge, isn't it? >> Um, could be. And then having it on you could also be another charge. So, >> and you know, if you get to the jail, it's going to another felony charge if you find it on you. >> Whose phone is it? Mine. Okay. I have a work phone. I have my phone. >> Three phones. >> Yeah. Once they'd searched the woman, she was placed in the back of a squad car beside her husband. By that point, they'd admitted to everything. So, when the officer warned her they'd be on camera, she wasn't worried in the least. >> I love you. >> I'm sorry. >> Sorry. >> No, this is all my fault. >> I love you. >> We're on camera. >> What? >> We're on camera and recorded. >> I know, but >> this is all my fault and I'm really sorry. >> It's okay. >> I feel like I feel better safe. >> You know, we're never going to be allowed to use each other again. >> You're right. >> We'll find our way. You know, we will. >> I can't lose you again. >> You're not. We'll find our way. You know, we will. 50 won't be allowed at the house. >> I can't lose you again. >> I promise you. I promise you. >> I don't know if I have enough money to bond both of us out, but I don't [snorts] know what to do about that cuz your bond's going to be like 500 now. I have $446. They'll take half or something. >> I'm going to try. I promise [snorts] you. >> The couple's genuine love for each other was really heartwarming, but their love wasn't going to save them from the consequences. The man told the cops to leave his jacket for his son so he didn't get cold. The woman then asked what her husband was being charged with. >> So, um, it's going to be miss yours. I mean, I have to look at your guys' criminal history. See if you have any if you guys have any priors. If you have prior, then it goes up to from misdemeanor to felony, no matter what the price is. >> Yeah. But I >> You're going also on a warrant. And >> even though it's been a while. >> Say again. >> Even though it's been a while. >> Even though Yeah. It doesn't matter if you have two two or two or more convictions. It's it goes up from misdemeanor to felony. >> So I won't know all of that. Right now you're just under arrest for >> shoplifting, retail shoplifting. But it might go up in class just basically. >> Can you guys please not tell my son anything? Just like so much theft, that's all. >> So, I can talk to him. >> They both were charged with petty theft, second conviction, and their bonds were set at $2,500 each. They also charged the man with possession of drug paraphernalia. They were later released pending further proceedings. On the 16th of April 2025, the cops were dispatched to a Dillard store after reportedly there was a woman who'd been shoplifting. According to employees, she was hiding merchandise in her bag. And when the officers got there, the employee filled them in. >> So, this is the deal. She could see all the $1,000 worth of stuff in a bag. She's taking it all out when she was approved. The problem is is we weren't just trying to be nice and going to get all our stuff back, but we're still missing items. And she's acting like I mean, she works here or something, so and hasn't. So, maybe you can help us get her items back. Hello. >> Hi. How are you? >> Good. How are you? >> I'm good. >> Do you have a driver's license with you or an ID? >> Uh, she has it. >> All right. And apparently >> from New York, but >> Do you live down in Florida now or >> No, I live here. I grew up here and I lived in New York for 15 years. >> Okay. How long have you been living down here from New York? >> Okay. About 2020. >> Yeah. So I guess >> I tried on like I think seven different combinations thinking it was a small, extra small, large, medium, and a large. >> The tags fell off. She's looking for two items without tags on them. And I She's asking me where they are. I don't know. I can work for her. I offered to pay for the two for the [ __ ] convenience. I know they came off. She said they don't come off when you try them on. >> I mean, we hurt her in the fitting room like ripping. >> No, >> I mean these don't come off easily. This is like a whole >> May I demonstrate? Actually, it's it's quite easy. >> I never don't rip any more rip any tags off. >> No, just set it down. Set down. >> You put the tag in while you were dressing. >> According to the Dillards employees, the two items that were missing were the top and bottom of a bathing suit. They brought up a picture of the items from the store's website and the officer was clarifying what she had been told by the store. >> She put over $1,000 worth of stuff in a bag in the fitting room. Is that correct? >> When they stopped her, they stopped her when she was leaving. She took everything out of the bag with her missing. >> Well, I asked her, she had to look through her bag and then she said that there's it was in the fitting room. Then [clears throat] she went in the fitting room, shut the door, and started taking the items out of her bag and left her room in there. But we can't find Yeah, I didn't know what I was in the store in my car leaving. She took my ID and then she came out and said, "But she's new and doesn't know anything." >> That's not what she said. >> That's not what she said. >> Oh, so they really just wanted to get their stuff back, but they're missing stuff. So >> that's where we're at right now. The suspect stuck to her lame excuse that the tag had fallen off, but the employees weren't convinced by it because they'd looked through the items already and they hadn't found any with missing tags. As far as this swimsuit went, it had to have been snatched somewhere or the suspect was wearing it. So, the officer requested to search the woman's bag. >> Do you understand they're trying to work with you and just get their stuff? >> Yes. And I would I told them I would I mean, how can I go look? I thing is I went in twice to the dressing room and the first time it was a younger girl that helped me and I gave everything back and that was when those tags fell off so they were on the hangers without the tags. I put the tags in my bag. I just didn't want to say sorry these fell off blah blah blah. So when I went into the dressing room to get rid of everything and leave those I put outside with the bra paddings that I had normal. It's abnormal and I should have done it. >> Inside the suspect's bag. They didn't find anything stolen. So she then asked the suspect if she was willing to show whether she was wearing the missing items. They suggested to her she could just pull her clothes back to show the strap of the bra underneath. But all of a sudden she got suspicious and reluctant. No, I don't want to get naked. No, I don't want to get naked. >> Get naked. I'll do you mind. I mean, I'll show you. It's a strap. >> Okay. >> I mean, we'll step on it if she [clears throat] wants better privacy or whatever. >> Okay. >> Do you have a bra on? >> Can you just be you? >> Do you have a bra? >> I know what she's looking for. >> It's just a regular bra like this. It's okay. >> I know what I have on. It's It's just this that is um going to be >> That's not a bathing. This is a tank a yellow tank top. A tankini. I don't have anything like this. >> I don't know. >> No, it's not. >> I don't I don't I can't tell. I just know >> I offered to even pay like if she's upset about the >> This isn't the This isn't This isn't our first rodeo. So, we know our We know our our our laws and what we need to do. She knows hers. >> Yeah, >> we can press charges on everything that you conceal of, which is a felony charge in the state of Florida. It's over $1,000 and you will go to jail. All I'm saying, ma'am, very kindly and nicely is we want our stuff back. Tell me where you ditched them. Save all these people's nice time. We will we will trespass you from the store and we never have to see each other again. You can't go into another dealers for seven years. >> And it's it it's that simple. or we she has to take out and take put your handcuffs on, walk you out the store and you have to go to jail. >> I Okay, I can I go with you and her the entire time to please tell me the truth. I am a person. >> They're going to be on a hanger in one of three spots or on the floor. >> All right. By the dresses. That's it. All right. Let's walk. All right. >> I'm going to be mad. >> She's going to walk. So, if you want to escort her as well >> to show them where she thinks it is. >> She took the cops and the employees to the rack with the bathing suits, but all the items there had tags. They told the woman that the other suits had been checked already, but she was keeping her act up, even though by that point she must have known it was game over. >> Okay. It doesn't look like it's here at all. >> It was >> similar. Yeah. Um, and it was yellow, but yeah, I can't we can all get at the end of the day around the store. This is not a safe. As the missing items weren't on the rack they'd come from or anywhere else in the store, the cops handcuffed the suspect and she was taken to the back of the store to be questioned further. At that point, she seemed to have a change of heart. >> Am I going to see that woman again? Like, is it just us now one or is it that woman that >> I don't know if she's going to come back in here or not? Why? >> Is there any way she can't and I can make it maybe easier on you guys? >> It's her store. So, >> I know. I just there's a Barney that just wants to do it. Not here because >> I mean once we finish the paperwork, we'll get you out of here. >> Well, what I'm saying is the paperwork involves getting more items which I may or may not have won. I'd rather just you guys >> give them to you the items right now. >> Do you have them? >> Yeah. >> And I just don't want to do it in front of her. So, it's up to if I don't see her again, I'll give it to you now somehow. I mean, go to the bathroom, whatever it is. But if she's going to be involved more, I don't want to do it here. I just do. So, whatever that I don't want to see her, she's been absolutely great. Like, made it hard. >> The cops agreed that the easiest thing to do here was to return the stolen items while they were still in the store office. As a result, the male cops agreed to go outside for a bit to give the woman some privacy. As for the female officer, she stuck around to supervise things while the woman undressed. >> One of you guys just stand right there, >> and I'll let you know. >> Okay. You I have an I have underwear on as well, so you just My shoulders are >> So, you just want to pull those down. >> Mhm. >> Okay. It's just my shoulders. Give me one sec. >> I'm gonna I'm gonna uncuff you long enough to get everything off. >> Don't do anything crazy. >> They're right outside the door. >> Hold on a second. >> Hold on. Hold on. Don't pull your hand yet. Let me get it off from around your hand. Second one is going to be >> Yeah, I'm going to take it off and then I'll put them back on. >> She stayed very cooperative and she admitted that her attempt to shoplift was about the dumbest thing she could have done. She then gave her side of the story, which unsurprisingly contradicted the employees who told the officer that they simply wanted their items back. >> It was two totally different scenarios and everything was like talk to me. I said, "I'll be sorry." She goes, "I'll walk you out of the 44 ID and I gave it to her camera blah blah blah." And the other woman just screamed and came out and yelled dragging back in all the security and all this stuff. She's saying, "Where is this?" And I said, "Go to go." It was just outrageous. It was just like I just froze up and waited for you guys. And then, you know, I I don't have any other priors and I don't don't know what it even means to go to jail. um or how to get out. I do take a vacation. I'm just scared of like, you know, just being overnight and stuff, but um I do have like family here and right >> um >> yeah, I'm [snorts] sure that they'll write down a number for you out on your phone before they before they put it away. I didn't I wanted to not have that stuff on me, but I actually forgot her. That woman she had a nerve. So, I was I was going to wait till I got to jail, but I just knew that you guys have so much paperwork and I felt bad, you know, you were sending you. As for the suspect, if she simply had the ability to know what a good opportunity looks like, she could have saved herself a trip to jail and could have just been trespassed like the store originally intended. She was charged with retail theft over $750. On the 3rd of June 2024, at a Walmart store, Loss Prevention called a man and a woman shoplifting and they flagged out an officer who happened to be in the parking lot. The employee then asked for the receipt for the TV they taken. >> No, I need to see a receipt receipt. I got an online receipt. That's not online receipt. That's That's not online receipt. >> That's online receipt. >> That's not online. That's from Food. That's supposed to have a serial number on there. Where serial number? >> That's what they That's my phone. >> That's not That's not an online receipt. So, we do two things. We going to pay for it or we going to take this or you guys going to come with us. That's not an online receipt. My receipts don't look like that. >> That's That's what she sent to me. >> That's not an online receipt. I'm telling you. >> So, unless you want to get in trouble, that's not an online receipt. >> That's what she >> I don't care what they sent you, but that's not >> You walked out with it. You have an ID. >> You have an ID. >> I don't have no ID, >> bro. >> How did Did you guys drive here? >> No, I got My aunt dropped me off. Say she going to pick me up the TV. send me this receipt online. >> The Walmart employee was quick to point out all the holes in the man's story. But as the discussion got more heated, it was the woman who took everyone by surprise. >> First off, you got an online TV. You pick it up from over there. >> I pick it up. >> You don't know. You don't you don't pick it up from back there online. All online. >> I showed the customer. No, listen to me. All online orders are picked up in on in online. I don't pick them, >> man. I guess already I got a female runner from the Walmart 5 suit with a pink sweater toward the up. The woman had jumped over the fencing around the parking lot that she'd just run through and she disappeared into the woods. The officer radioed in to update his colleagues. Then a female officer showed up and began closing in. She's going to be along the gate right behind the park and deck. She's running up towards the fence line now. >> YEAH. >> YEAH. She coming to the gate. Thank you. There were more and more cops circling the area, which ensured the suspect would have nowhere left to run. Eventually, one of them finally spotted the woman between the trees. >> Oh, right here. Right here. Right here. Right here. >> Yeah, I'm clear. I see her. She's ducking down right now in the woods. Hey, stay right there. Can you see her? She's right here running through the parking lot. >> Get your down. Get down right now. >> I didn't do nothing. >> Yeah. Get out. >> Have nothing to do with this. >> Get out. Don't Don't rush me up. I'll get down. I will get down. >> Put your hand behind your back. Do it now. >> I will get down. >> My phone. My phone, man. >> I just Bro, I don't got no numbers in MY PHONE. NO, THEM FOLKS. I DIDN'T HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT. >> I just walked in the store with them and they told me to hold the car. >> Stand up. >> I doing all that running >> because I have kids. What your fault? >> I didn't know they had none of that going on. >> I'm a runner real quick. >> Please, please. >> As she was led to their vehicle, she kept pleading with the officers, saying she had nothing to do with the theft. But after trying to run like that, it was hard for the cops to believe. When the officers tried to explain that to her, she told the cops that she was scared. Unfortunately for this woman, they weren't buying that either. >> Have a seat. Have a seat. Have a seat. Sit down. Sit up. Please. Come on. Come on. Sit up. It's all right. Just sit. Just sit up. Come on. Sit up. >> Don't make it hard. Don't make it harder on yourself. Please. Just sit down. >> Oh my god. >> Come on. >> We'll call you. Have a seat. Have a sit down. >> There you go. Put your legs in. >> Your legs in. >> Put your legs in. >> No. Can we not close the door? >> Yeah. We got to close. >> Stay right there. >> Hey, how about to uh Walmart? Take a right now cuz I didn't know none of this was going on. They set me up. >> You knew it was I did not promise your legs. I did not fight Walmart cuz she has >> she's saying that she's got asthma attacks. >> Meanwhile, because the cops had been so focused on chasing the woman down, the male suspect had managed to get away. The lead officer interviewed the loss prevention and according to what they said, there was a second man involved in the operation. So, did you take off or? >> No, he I stopped him cuz I saw him coming when I was bringing that other TV back in. I saw him coming with another TV cuz he with him and I said, "Let me see your receipt." He showed me the same picture the other guy tried to see. >> Oh, they're trying to see him. We got >> All right. Heard jumped over the the low line behind the Oliver. I'm like, "You ain't got nowhere to go." I'm like, "You hear the sirens? You might run for me, but the You ain't going to run the radio." >> So, I'm real. >> How much was that TV? Well, it's two of them, so they 428 a piece. >> Oh, perfect. >> So, they basically working together. >> So, but he took off though. >> Yeah, he took off. He He went He pretty much went on foot and went down that way. >> Which one? >> The one was he was on foot. >> Hold on. You said which one with the red shorts. Where he going? >> Downstairs. I don't know where he >> got the black. The one him that I stopped. >> Yeah. >> He went out and walked down this way. >> Okay. Sorry. I'll take her. I mean, I can only charge her for one TV, though, cuz she only came out with >> That's fine. Yeah. >> How much is the the single TV? >> Was it 428? >> Back at the squad car, the female suspect was still trying to play innocent. She continued saying that she knew nothing about the theft and all she'd been asked to do was push the card out. So, the officers asked her again why she ran. >> I have kids. That's why Sit. Sit down. >> I have stuff. I have mental issues. That's why I ran. I got scared. >> Sit down. >> I got scared. >> I'm going to fix your top. >> Okay. Better fix your shirt. >> Just let me fix your shirt. We're going to listen, but ain't trying to be disrespectful, okay? >> Okay. >> And let you be out here like this. All right. Lean back cuz I can see. >> Give me a second. >> They sent me Oh, ma'am. I need >> I don't know anything about it. >> Listen, just hold on. Okay. >> Is that too tall? >> No. I got babies. I got to get back to I didn't know. I'm unaware. While they waited for an ambulance to check the woman out, the female officer tried to calm her down a bit, but she was getting herself really worked up. She did, however, seem to be breathing okay. And when they asked her if she still needed the ambulance, she decided she'd rather just go to the jail house and get it over with. >> You said you've been arrested in the past. >> Yes. >> For what? >> Um, >> same thing. Obstruction. >> Obstruction. Like that's running. >> Yeah, when you resist the rest pretty much. >> Yeah. All right. Um then I got um domestic violence. I know it's been a similar situation like this when I was with like a um she's a 16 year old like 14 year old. She said she was around my age when I was 19. >> Mhm. >> She went to Walmart and she start uh stealing in there and I didn't know anything about it and I went out and I walked out with her just by me walking out with her headc. >> Are you on probation? >> Because she underage. Are you on probation? >> No. >> I just I don't understand why you ran. I mean, you you make >> I went in there to give me some drugs. >> Okay. But you make you make it worse by running. >> Huh? >> All you had to do was be honest. >> Yeah. Yes. And I was honest. >> Okay. But then you ran. So >> I ran. >> That That makes you look like you weren't being honest. >> I'm sorry. >> That makes it look like you knew what what you guys were up to. >> No, I didn't. The officer then went on to explain to the woman that if the case went to court, running from the cops would not look good to the judge and jury. The officer then tried to find out more about the guy she was with. >> Who was that dude to you? >> That was just my friend. >> Not your boyfriend? >> I just met him a month ago. >> Do you know his name and date of birth? >> They call him Rude. >> You don't know his name and date of birth? >> I don't know. I don't know his name. No. >> How did you guys You guys came in a car? >> Yeah. We was riding with his friends or something like that. But I I wasing sleep when we pulled up to the um to the Walmart. They woke me up like we here. Uh you want to go in there and get some draws? And I'm like I'm like um I walked in with them, but I didn't know what they were doing. He's like, "I'm about to go grab the TV for my mom. I'm about to go look for the job." He's like, "Oh, hold on. Wait. Let me take this phone call. Hold the card right quick." And I held the car and he just started walking and I started pushing the car. I didn't think nothing of that though. >> Well, it seems like he set you up. >> Yeah, that's exactly what I said. That's exactly what I said when I got in the car. I said they set me up. He had to. >> That's a hard argument to prove. >> Yeah, man. >> When you run away. >> It seemed like the woman had taken everything he said to her to heart since when they got to the jail house, she stayed cooperative and seemed to regret that she had run. But that bad decision had a consequence of its own. You're crazy for jumping that gate. You didn't even know what was down there. You were just jumping. You know that's that's that's a drop. >> You're lucky that all those trees and stuff over there, >> right? >> That's a big drop. >> Ancestors. >> H >> I bet the ancestors caught me. >> Yeah, but not only that, you know, >> a tree could have went inside you or something like that. You could have got stabbed by a tree. >> Yeah. All of that. >> You got to make better decisions. >> I knew You see what I'm saying? >> Been like this for a minute, man. >> You had a rough uh upbringing. >> Yeah. >> We just got a job to do. You ain't got to be scared of us. >> You should have seen what he Yes, I do got to be scared of y'all cuz he >> As soon as I saw you that I treat you, that I was respectful the whole time. I didn't rough you up. I didn't put you in cuffs right away. You guys think about it as a when a criminal a criminal is the one that always >> when a white dude called me he put me on the ground smash my face in the ground all type of >> well if you run that's >> like I said I'll get on the ground bro you don't got to rough me up cuz I really sp this bro for real that you're not going to kill me out this I will get on the ground myself just cuz I ran you caught me now I'm tired >> I know you can keep be like that and the officers out here people bro that's why I get scared. >> The officer then said that the last thing they wanted to do was take anyone's life. But when a suspect doesn't follow instructions, using force becomes a matter of officer safety. So that's why they had to put her on the ground as quickly as possible. They charge the woman with theft by shoplifting and also obstruction. Stealing, of course, is never a good idea. And with all the security cameras around these days, it's also incredibly dumb. That's exactly why these shoplifterss got busted at Walmart and other stores, too. Don't forget to like and subscribe and turn on notifications for more videos like this.
