from an 87-year-old woman being unreasonably tased and arrested to the excessive use of force on a pedestrian here are five times when idiot cops realized they just got sued starting with the moment chatworth police department on August 10th 2018 officers from the Chatsworth Police Department responded to a call regarding a 87-year-old lady named Martha Al bashara who is a Syrian immigrant Miss Al bashara was out with her kitchen knife trying to gather some dandelions near the Chatsworth Boys and Girls Club near her residence in Chatsworth Georgia after Miss Al bashara did not leave the property upon request by the the club's employees Chief eage accompanied by several other officers including officer Steven Marshall watch how cruy they respond to the [Music] situation why did you use visual cues this prompts the officers to deploy a taser causing her to fall Miss AL bashara's Family urged the officers not to arrest her citing her age but the officers defended their actions as Justified given her trespassing with a knife while carrying a kitchen knife is legal if it is under 12 in and doesn't meet the definition of an unlawful weapon the officers proceed based on the also more than 2 hours she was charged with obstruction and Criminal Trespass later these charges were dropped Miss Al bashara filed a lawsuit against the city of Chatsworth and the officers involved the settlement was reached for $150,000 and the officers were tasked to receive training on deescalation tactics and Crisis Intervention for mental health consumers if you think these were the only straight the individual identified himself as Justin Scott the officer inquires if Mr Scott lives nearby and he confirms that he's been on the streets for two days since his recent release the officer then asks about his company suggesting he may have been seen with a female companion but Mr Scott insists he's alone the officer begins questioning Mr Scott's identity and past arrests pressing him to provide his name and disclose if he has any weapons tension Rises as the interaction escalates what you talking about what have you been arrested for in the past you said you've been arrested for officer white punched elbowed kneed and used a stun gun on Mr Scott before throwing him to the ground as officer white attempted to detain Mr Scott and handcuff him he claims that Mr Scott tensed up and resisted leading to a struggle between them during the scuffle both men ended up on the ground officer white alleges that as he pointed the taser at Mr Scott's midsection however Mr Scott reached out and grabbed the weapon the two continued to wrestle over the taser and officer white eventually managed to pin Mr Scott face down on the ground with the taser positioned underneath his body white maintained control over Mr Scott until other officers arrived to assist him and placed him in handcuffs later Mr Scott went on to file a lawsuit against the officer involved after all charges against him were dropped the proceedings of this case are unknown if you think this was the maximum a cop can realize they just got sued then you probably haven't heard of this next next case of Officer mang Michael zamki was outside his home when he was approached by Officer mag he was later accompanied by Officer Brian Warren the officers began to question Mr zerki regarding a recent theft of two don't know according according to the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution citizens can refuse to answer any questions asked by law enforcement if they believe they can be unreasonably incriminated he said that he was out there about to walk his dog furthermore he also refused to go inside his home since he claimed he was not doing anything wrong the officer then threatens to arrest him if he incident however later Mr Finley went on to file a complaint against officer Marcato and also filed a lawsuit the charges against him were dismissed Mr Finley reportedly received a $57,500 sum as a
