Dude, I'm literally only 13 years old, bro. You can't do this. Can I call my parents? You get in a second. Sit down. Cuz my parents won't live. They're not here. And you can't you can't do this to me. I have this bag. Hey, sir. Leave it alone. I have this bag. Sir, relax. Leave me alone. You're going to get tased if you don't stop. 53. She's running. Spread your legs. Stop. Playing game. You're hurting me. I don't care. You're hurting me. I told you. Shoplifting is a crime that usually causes minimal harm to public safety. In most cases, stealing from a small business only results in minor charges. But some crooks take it too far, endangering both themselves and others along the way. And that's why very harsh punishments await when shoplifterss do the unthinkable to avoid arrest. Hands [screaming] up. Hands up. On January 3rd, 2025 in Finley, Ohio, police were called regarding a shopping incident at Dick Sporting Goods. The thief, a woman later identified as 30-year-old Angelica Deleo, brazantly left the store carrying two large bags of unpaid items. She then got in her car and sped off. Hi. Hi. We just had a lady walk out with two of our bog bags with products stuck into them. Um here's my video of her. Um so did you guys walk out? Did she Did I walk out? Yeah. This is her. It was evident from the store manager's response that the store's been impacted by recurring incidents of theft in the store. It's not only bad for business, but it also puts her and her staff in a bad light for not being able to minimize it. Oh, yeah. I get to fill out another one of these. At least we count this one. Yes. I Yeah. Well, you guys had a lady. I will tell you, it's dangerous going [music] out there even to get a license plate, but the license plate does help a lot. I know. Thanks to the store manager filming the incident, the cops could clearly identify the suspect and her vehicle. Law enforcement can already alert their colleagues to what should have been a straightforward arrest. However, what unfolded next was incomprehensible, especially considering how trivial the original crime was. [screaming] We are eastbound on North Dixie Highway. If someone can communicate to this Pisburg Township behind me to come take the one position, I'll give it up. Ran the red light at Fort Megs Boulevard westbound. They're at the traffic light at uh Jeff Devis commons and Jefferson Street through [music] that intersection. We're coming up to the Virgin Diamond here at 75 475. We're going to get back on 475 southbound. Unbelievably, instead of pulling over when the cops told her to, Angelica decided to engage in a real life game of Grand Theft Auto for nearly 50 m, recklessly endangering innocent lives in the process. However, in her case, trying to outrun the cops was futile. Hands up. Anybody in the back? Headquarters. Custody. What I do? What you do? What I do? Tell To end the nearly 50-mi high-speed chase, eight police vehicles and 14 officers were involved. Despite all that, Angelica casually got out of her car, clutching her phone, trying to make light of the situation. But for the officers here, this was no laughing matter. Y'all get a big reward, huh? You got a felony. Big reward. Going to prison now for stealing some clothes. That's stupid. Guess what? Step on the wrist. Not in New H County. County, honey. You're not Lucas anymore. And Hancock and Lucas everywhere. See, I'm on one everywhere. See y'all soon. Thank you. Completely unfaced by the incident and claiming she'd only get a slap on the wrist. It was obvious Angelica's no stranger to run-ins with the law. It seems she's gotten away with behavior like this too many times in the past. It's all the stuff she stole. Stupid. I know. Why do they do this? Good. This thing's just hard to fathom. How could a person turn a stash of Stanley cups and a few other stolen clothing items into a dangerous high-speed chase? The only consolation here was the significant damage to her vehicle, which of course she'll have to pay for along with the hefty legal fees of her supposed high-flying lawyer. Could you take my phone off of this, please? Oh, yeah. We'll get there. You're not getting it though. So, I mean, I just want to call make sure my baby back to my daughter. That's it. If you would have stopped in Finley and we would have wrote you a court date and you would have left and then you could have called your dad or your baby dad and your dog. I don't know how Finley works. So I wanted to get to Toledo. Toledo and now what what's happened? You got to film Harrisburg and then I'm like Harrisburg. So I was like let me know. It's terrible excuses. All right. But no, you're not going to use your phone anytime soon. So sit tight, enjoy the the kindness. I got a newborn baby. I just need Can you can you call them? Let me let me tell you something right now. I'm not being I am being I don't give a Okay. You know what I mean? Why is you just putting danger out there myself? all these officers, all the citizens out there, and then are you worried about your little baby? Chris stay home and take care of him like a good mom. I am. Angelica's truly a deeply disturbed individual. She's more concerned about her phone getting wet than human life. The discovery that she has a newborn baby at home made the whole situation all the more twisted. We can only hope the baby's father can protect his daughter from being exposed to her mom's behavior. You ain't but a with a badge. All of y'all. Good work. Good work, officer. Good work. Dumb ass for a purse. Y'all slow as did all that for a purse and they just my car up. Now I really ain't got to pay for my car. The complete lack of remorse or accountability is nothing short of astounding. Behavior like this woman's displaying could be a sign of antisocial personality disorder. This condition is marked by a disregard for others rights. reckless behavior that endangers lives and it's commonly found among people in the prison system. And he keep touching my mothering wallet like you about to touch my money. Why is y'all in my money? Wrong with y'all and pigs. The pigs. your mama and your ugly kids. Not getting the response or attention she was looking for, Angelica turned nasty and violent, demonstrating hatred towards the officers. She was eventually charged with grand theft, fleeing, and eluding. And it was also reported that an extra charge of assaulting a police officer has also been requested. On the 11th of February 2020, the cops were called to a Home Depot after a woman with a toddler was caught stealing. Outside, her friend was waiting in a vehicle keeping an eye on the woman's other child. Hold that for me. All right, get up. She's talking to you. You have any in your back? No. Do you have anybody here with your baby? Stay in the car. Stay in the car. Call them. Oh man, we have no ID by the way as well. That's fine. You can have your cards. I'll get it. Have a seat. [snorts] Call Have a seat. I'm going to call them. You want me to pee? No. You want me to hurt you in front of your kid? Call them. Can you not grab me, please? Call them. Oh my god. [snorts] If you get up, I'm not going to get back. Get up. Ma'am, I'm not getting up. I'm just around. No, you're going to stay like that. Call them. I'm not moving. Call them. [snorts] You're making it worse for you. This was quick. This is so quick. Y copy. I'm going to keep Laura. No, I already have a copy. I'm going to keep swap you two, please. They just don't look like that. Okay. Yeah, that's fine. Unfortunately for her, the woman's friend wasn't answering her phone. It became apparent due to her demeanor that she was starting to feel pressure from the officers and Major, the woman's son, grew increasingly distressed by the situation. What kind of mother would put her child in such a terrible situation? Can you want me outside? No. Who are they? My friend and my son is in the car. My cousin. How can you just I'm not I don't know. Her phone probably dead or something. I'm not going to do anything. You already got me in here. I'm not going to I'm not You feel me? What can I do? I got my baby. You going to let him carry baby? I ain't carrying the baby. You can put the baby in the stroller. I ain't touching the kid. I'm sorry. We can get a We can get a shopping cart. The baby can go in the baby basket and you can put her in handcuffs. We can walk her outside. Completely innocent in all this, the child's caught up in the fallout of his mother's poor decisions. Even more heartbreaking, after phoning her cousin, mother, and her father, no one responded to rescue her from the situation. It's a petty charge. I know. I'm not trying to I just want to get it over with. I just want to get on my baby. Can you just walk outside when I can't let you walk like that? You got to go on handcuffs. You can hold the baby and hold you at the same time. I'm not going to do I got my child. What you and my other baby in the car. What on What least can I do? I'm not I'm not dead. I'm not dead. Bring me a Of course, the officers wanted to believe that she wouldn't do anything to put her baby in harm's way. But if that was really the case, she wouldn't even be in this situation to begin with. The cops are understandably doubtful of what she's saying, and it didn't take long for her to confirm that she can't be trusted. Just put him right there. Get off me. Lady, you're not you're not moving. Lady, lady, let go the kid. You're You're hurting him. I got my baby. LET GO. THIS GUY SAID I WASN'T GOING TO JAIL. EXACTLY. The stupid treasure. I GOT MY BABY WITH ME. Let go of the baby. Let [screaming] go of the baby. Come on. Ouch. Don't. Hey, come on. Listen. Come on. Don't fight her. Don't fight her. Don't fight her. Don't fight her. HQ. And now you're going to jail for stupid. Oh my god. No. Nope. It was a ticket. He said trespass me. It was a petty tap. I want to get to my baby. Very little of what this woman said sounded true. Especially the part about her not being that stupid. Despite her words expressing pain over being separated from her son, her action showed that she wasn't putting his best interest above her own. 2190. How close are you? This is your money. It's going inside. I got to pee so bad. I'm really about to pee on myself. Please. Let's do it, girl. 21. What are you working on? 26 on the shot in custody. You don't even have to steal. You got money. With the woman's pockets stuffed with cash, the woman's motive for stealing had become even more unclear. Surely, it would have been more sensible to simply pay for her items and spare the child from being dragged into this mess. All right, up your lights. You have anything on you? Thank you. You know, I'm in jail. If you have anything, they're going to charge you. Stop moving. Just stay still. I got to go now. That's fine. You saved it. You brought it for me. Sign out. Sign your own. Do you really have someone for this kid or not? Yes, I do. Hey, it's in the car. Wait for another officer before we take her off. Can you walk me up? Watching his mother get handcuffed, searched, and patted down will hopefully not be his first memory. Sadly, the emotional scars from the experience will be much harder to erase. That's your mom. Where you at? I'm so sorry. It's okay, papa. Please. You're going to jail. Please. I told you it was a stupid ticket. He just told me. I told you that's what it was. I sat there in front of you and I said it's a stupid thing. I told you you're not going to jail. He didn't. You just told me. 521 was clear and backstage. Baby, my office line is in the car. Want to run? choir. You said stand up when you came inside. That's what you told me to do. You didn't say nothing about the Tik. I didn't hear you say that. On the cold floor, please. The fact that you put your baby in harm piss me off. You're going to jail for being stupid. That's the That's the main thing. In the car. Not my problem. Should have thought about it. I told you it's a simple thing. Yeah. I just She got a kid. Hold on. She got a kiss. So, I just got to make sure. Um she says there's someone outside with her kiss. Come on. I'll I'll take the baby. After escorting the woman to their vehicle, they discovered that her friend, who was meant to be waiting outside, had left, and they were now left with a toddler with no one to care for him. So, are you coming back? Yeah, we're coming to see the baby. Yeah. Where are you coming from? Really? Where are you coming from? I'm coming from North Lake. From North Lake? What? Yes. How? I thought you guys were just here. No. So, who was that person with her other kid? Do you guys want me to call DCF? Cuz this is stupid. I have no problem on calling DCF and they will take both of the kids. No, I'm coming right now. No. Where you at? Take him. Take him to my mama. You got my mama nimble. You got my mama. No, you're not 5 minutes away. You said you're in blue heron. I'm coming. I will be there, man. 5465. Call her now. Tell her you bringing major. How is it that they left you? What kind of friends you got? What's the number to your mom? That's my mom. What kind of friends you got? Who's with your son? My son is with Karita. Call call my daddy phone ID1. There she is. Hi Major. He knows you. Finally, the friend arrived to collect the baby. The real victim in all this is the child used as a shield by his mother to deflect from her crime. Hopefully, she learned a lesson and will [music] strive to be a better parent. She was charged with theft, child endangerment, and resisting arrest. On November 30th, 2023 in New Mexico, Target security noticed a woman later identified as a 20-year-old named Danielle acting very suspiciously on surveillance footage. Judging by her behavior, it was clear the woman was not a seasoned criminal. Her attempts to cheat the self-service checkout were quickly thwarted. Like we said, her behavior was suspicious. As she nervously scanned her surroundings, ensuring no one was watching, she seemed completely unaware of the cameras tracking her every move. It appears Danielle didn't have enough cash to cover the $2347. And a friend who showed up, seemingly out of nowhere, gave her some cash. But then the machine malfunctioned and triggered an automated alert for staff assistance. The assistant arrived and tried to process the transaction at the selfch checkout, but unfortunately she was unable to do so. So Danielle had to head to the counter to finalize the transaction. She parked her shopping cart out of the cashier's line of sight on purpose, but the cameras, of course, were still watching. As she made her much anticipated exit out of the store, she must have felt very relieved. However, little did she know, she was about to have a very unexpected and unwelcome encounter outside. Yeah. I mean, you have issue with the scanning machine? No, I had I went to the regular register and she scammed me out with the regular register. I didn't have an issue. She fixed it for me. Who'd you come with? Why does that matter? Because there's two of you guys. That's Yeah, cuz she came and brought me the rest of the money. Yeah. So, who'd you come with? That way we She brought me the rest of the money. Do you want to come talk to the lady that checked me out? No, I want you to answer my question. Let's go talk to the lady that checked me out, please. Cuz I didn't think anything. I just literally had to go to the second register and she helped me at the second register. Who did you come with? Like the person helped me at the regular register. Who get there? Who do you Why does that matter? Because you need to answer my question. She's at It's my friend. She has to go to her kids today. She It's her kids' birthday today. That's the reason why I came here. Do you want Can we come talk to the register? Cuz she's literally just helped me through the register and I don't see what the problem is. All right. So, you can walk through this officer. We're going to go back in the store. I'm going to grab your shopping cart. Who? What? Here, go back to the front of the store. We'll go talk to them. Her immediate defensiveness and her weak attempts to appear confused just exposed her anxiety over being caught and her guilty conscience. She was visibly scrambling to think of a way to get out of this mess. And then Hold on. Slow down. I'm going to find the lady. No, we're going to go right here. No, you're going to come over here. Come over here now. I can't that just You're going to go right here and talk to them. Let's go. We're trying to be cool with you. Come on. Look, there she is right there. Excuse me. You help me get everything. Yeah. Yeah, she paid. She paid for everything. Okay, we got to talk to somebody over here and then we'll get things sorted out. She was trying to take control of the situation and ignoring the instructions of the officers. It was a simple demonstration that she still thought she could get away with this. But the woman's unwillingness to cooperate only set off more red flags. I have to go to two different registers. I know you did. I was watching you the whole time. It's okay. So then what's the problem? You didn't pay. What do you mean I didn't pay? Yeah. So gift pack is probably going to be these. Uh the water at the bottom and then wonder shop is going to be this bag. Yep. And the one she didn't pay for is all these this bath mat. Dude, I got the Legos at the first one. I got the lady at the first register. Yes, I did. And she finished helping me scare me out. Where's the receipt for that? I don't know. It's probably there still if you go look. Why do you have receipt for this and not have the receipt for the next? Because I had to go to two different registers. Although the officers had tried to give the woman the benefit of the doubt. Once the store literally produced receipts, the cops knew for certain she was guilty. And it was then time to detain her and put her in handcuffs. You're going in here. All right. I'm not going in there. Yo, I have to step out. I'm not going in there. What the Dude, I didn't do anything wrong. What are you doing? Get your hands off of me. I didn't do anything. Get your hands off of me. Get your hands off OF ME. GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF ME. GET THEM OFF OF ME. I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. I paid FOR THIS STUFF. GET THEM OFF OF ME. GET OFF OF ME. WOW. I'm only 13 years old. You can't do this without my parents permission. I'm only 13 [screaming] years old. You can't do THIS WITHOUT MY PARENTS PERMISSION. I'm only 13 years old. I'm only a 13year-old. Dude, I'm literally only 13 years old, bro. You can't do this. Can I call my parents? You can in a second. Sit down. Cuz my parents won't like they're not here and you can't you can't do this to me. You can. He committed a crime. So, knock it off. Not if I'm only 13 years old. I'm underage. I'm underage. Okay. Is your ID in your purse? No, it's not. Where is it? I don't have it. So, you're not under any debt. Can I just take the stuff I paid for it? Lean. No. No. We're beyond that. Her poorly thoughtout decisions only made matters worse. She was trying to convince the officer that she was just 13 years old, but her trick didn't work and just frustrated the cops further. The cops then decided to track down the friend she was with to get some more answers. Hello. Did you come with uh my friend? Friend? Yeah. Okay. All right. You're not in trouble, but obviously um she's in trouble. I mean, I guess you but um what is her name? Um I don't answer questions. I'm sorry. Okay. Need your identification cuz you actually went in there. Hey, and you guys both came together, huh? I went to the store. I'm not asking if you ran into the store. I'm not asking if you guys both came together. So, there's my driver's license. It's a yes or no. There's cameras. There's fine. And that's fine. You can see on camera then, but I You are so being uncooperative right now. Why is that? I'm trying to be cool with you, but you're giving me a hard time. I don't answer questions, Kayen. I'll just be stopped. [clears throat] I give you my idea. Is there anything else I can provide you with my you want my insurance registration? I do have that. No, this is not the toughest stop. This is a criminal offense investigation. Okay. Okay. So, you can sit there if you're not going to answer questions. After giving Danielle money to pay and refusing to reveal her personal details, this woman had certainly earned herself a friend of the year award. However, it was of no help whatsoever to the investigation. Irritated by the lack of cooperation, the cop headed back to the store only to discover that things had quickly escalated when he was away. Please leave me alone. Please let me grab it. Danielle attempted to flee, but sadly for her, she ran right into the glass entrance doors. Covered in cuts and bruises, she was then tackled by a female officer. She dug herself into a very deep hole. But still, she seemed to be in serious denial about the consequences of her actions. I'll pay for you, please. I'll pay for you. Can I pay for the stuff, please? We'll get there. Get in the car. Please, can I buy it, please? Sit down and put your feet in now. Don't buy it for it. I'll pay for it. Please. I have the money to pay for it. Watch your feet. Please. Can I please? Good job. I've never tackled anyone. That was cool. I [laughter] was laughing cuz I'm like, she's really 13. Damn. I know what what kind of skin care, right? While Danielle may be having one of the worst days of her life, the cops here and the Target employees can't help but laugh at her absurd claims that she's only 13 years old. And as they were still having no luck getting straight answers, they tried to ask her friend one more time. I'm not going anywhere. I promise you. So, the only reason I asked because we need to know who she is because we don't want to burg and charge for concealing identity. So, I just need to find out who she is because she's going to go to jail for concealing identity and we don't need to go that route. I think that's her though, right? Not technically like, do you know what I mean? That would be up to her do anything, right? Not me. Yeah. I mean, if you're a friend, I mean, obviously a friend was going to help her out to not That's up to her. Like, that's my girlfriend. You like tackled her. They t That was Smoker. They tackled. Yeah, dude. Well, I don't know what she was trying to do, dude. Who? Well, she got They're saying that she got They're saying she shoplifted. Oh my god. Wait, you know her? Yeah, that's my girlfriend. The one that's in the plate? Yeah, the girl they just had outside. I was like walking up like, "Whoa, what the Okay, so you guys all came together?" Yeah. Yeah. Okay. They're not going to take her to jail, right? Oh, she's going she's going to jail. Oh, man. Are you serious? Yeah. The loyal friend and the less loyal boyfriend were let off the hook. In the meantime, Daniellea decided to comply, perhaps thinking that this new approach might change her inevitable fate. What's your name? Danielle. Danielle. I'm Sergeant Munos with the Ranch Police Department. Okay. So, what I'm doing here right now is I am looking into um the force that was used. Uh can you tell me what happened? I didn't use any force. No, no, no. not you. Um, just what happened as far as like the instance it's not I'm I'm only looking as far as how you came to your injuries essentially. I did it to myself because I didn't listen to what they were saying and I ran and I was being so dull and I'm so sorry for not doing what they asked me to do cuz I wasn't complying with them and I'm so sorry. I just don't want to go to jail. I'm so sorry. I was scared. I'm scared. I'm so scared. Although she'd now complied and admitted she was at fault. It was far too late for her to avoid going to jail. At least she didn't claim police brutality. Maybe, just maybe, hitting that glass door made her come to her senses. All right. So, we're going to go take you to the hospital. Go get checked out. Okay. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Okay. Just go ahead and have a seat. We're going to buckle you up. You don't have any knives, needles, or guns on you that we need to be aware of, do we? You don't have anything in your pockets that we need to be aware of. Lean forward just a little. Lean forward, ma'am. Got to buckle you up so you don't fall over. Are you going to go to jail? Well, right now you're going to the hospital. I don't want to go to jail. Please. I don't want to go to jail. Please. Danielle was charged with shoplifting, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and trying to escape from the custody of an officer. Unfortunately, her next bad decisions led her to miss court appearances, and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On November 19th, 2023 in Florida, police responded to a call from Target over the theft of a power bank. The suspect initially seemed friendly and willing to cooperate, but it didn't take long for the man to change his mind. Sir, how you doing? Yes, sir. Um, so I guess something happened over here at the store, so I need you to wait with me for a minute. Okay. Yes, sir. Do you have any weapons on you or anything like that? No, sir. I got I have anything? Oh, go ahead. Put your hands on top of your head for a second. I saw like a pocketk knife here. I just want to take that. Okay. I got pocket knives, man. Well, then I I asked if you had any weapons. That's a pocketk knife. Those count. Yes. Thank you. I'm going to hold on to these. Okay. I got this bag, right? Leave it away. I have this bag. Hey, sir. Leave it alone. I have this bag. Sir, relax. Leave me alone. You're going to get tased if you don't stop. She's running. Stop right now. Realizing she couldn't keep up with the man, the officer notified backup of the suspect's location. Already facing charges of fleeing and resisting, he was now considered a threat, and they had to apprehend the man as soon as possible. [snorts] [snorts] I'm here now. I'm here now. It seemed the suspect's marathon to freedom had worn him out. So, he then decided to lie down beneath a vehicle in a nearby car lot. But by this point, backup had arrived and they weren't messing around. Go to him now. Go. Let's go. Stay on the drive. We're trying to get him out from under a car here at the car lot just off the 7-Eleven. Now stay on the ground. Go on your stomach. Get on your stomach. Now, despite his daring attempt to escape, the suspect knew he needed to quickly deescalate things for his own safety. By admitting defeat, he was letting the officers know that he no longer posed a threat. Well, okay. Get on your stomach. Put your hands behind your back. Get your hand behind your back. Listen to the commands that you're given. You all right? Yeah. Okay. You have anything on you? Weapons bag. But I got knives. I mean through them. I don't know what the hell. I thought I had a knife, but I don't know. I got you. Not the smartest. Throw your stomach. Throw the other side. to your butt. My butt. Get my phone right there. One, two, three. Don't worry about Get my phone. Don't worry about your phone. Get my phone. Let's go under here. Yes, sir. My phone. Don't step on that out. Got a phone, man. What's going on? Walk back over here to this flashlight. I need my phone right there. Okay, we're going to work on that, but for now, just focus on following directions. Okay. Given that the man stole a power bank, it's no wonder the suspect's main priority was his phone. He seemed far less concerned at the fact that he was about to be taken to jail. While he was waiting at the back of the police cruiser, the cops then checked the contents of his bag. Watch out for count all that. My man's going to be counting quarters still. Need a buddy. Verify that. Take [music] his money when he gets up there. They're gonna take all his a Cheeto Cheetos Fritos with that. A lot of quarters quarters. Now's the time you swap them out. He's been robbing freaking tip jobs. That's what it is. The officers only found personal hygiene products and a stack of quarters. It became obvious the man was homeless, which would explain why he needed the power bank. And as far as the pocketk knife was concerned, he probably just needed it for practical use and not as a weapon. What I'm charged with. We're going to talk about that here. All right. God damn. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can or will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him or her present with you while you're being about that. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer won't be appointed to represent you. You can decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any question or make any statements. Do you understand each of these rights as I have explained them to you? Can you uncuff me? No. Do you understand each of these rights as I have explained them to you? No friend. Okay. What can I better explain for you? Can you un loosen the cuffs? I can't think while my cuffs is like this. I checked them then. They're at proper fit. I can't change them. That's too tight. Do you want to smoke? Do you wish to speak to me, sir? Do you wish to speak with me? Yes or no? Already down on his luck, the man seemed unfaced at the idea of going to jail. Instead, the man seemed resigned and almost bored with the whole process, but seized every opportunity to hinder the officer's efforts. Contrary to his claims, there was no way the handcuffs could have affected his comprehension. Okay, so we're just going to walk out this way. You didn't figure that out. Smart. I'm a police. I'm the smartest person in the world. I never said that. I ain't never said that. How about those hot cheekbones? You need to start eating, boy. I ain't lying. Cuz you can see your cheekbones, too. You too skinny. You look like you sick. You took the last say took a test. He was in the hospital for 6 months and he got a couple slot. Oh, okay. I knew it had to be something. Yeah, it's a disease right there for me. I take a wide step possible, sir. Who take a wide step apart? Who? Nothing. Poke me, right? Sir, do you have any poke me? You don't know? I don't know. Your officer has checked me. I f I don't know. How would I know? I got handcuffs on. Could have been your [snorts] house. All I think that you'd know if you put anything in your pocket. I would be sharp. If I've been checked by the police already in in the car, I would think that um the officer already checked me. I wouldn't be surprised. You would be surprised. The question I asked you. Come on, man. You feel like talking, man. Don't nobody feel like that. Do your job, dog. Mixing humor with defiance, the suspect turned this whole situation into a verbal power play, making childish taunts and taking full advantage of the officer's affable nature. Based on his personal circumstances, the cops seem to be giving the suspect a pass. They probably just wanted to keep him cooperative so they can quickly get things over with. Don't tell me how to do my job. Do your job, man. Ain't nobody got time for all that talking all that know how to answer it. It ain't my fault. You a me in that zip tie. Thank you all that goddamn talking. Just talk that much. You're talking more than I am. Look, he had to say something. You got to get the last word. Got you though. God bless. Hey, you had to get the last word. That's do like that. And yet you're still talking. Do that type of Godless. God bless. Go. God bless. I see. God bless. Brush your teeth a little bit more. That'll be a little bit more whiter. Get a job. Maybe you don't have to steal. I steal. You look You lucky I ain't steal you. You be stealing the concrete, man. Yeah, right. Yo, so goof out here. You goofy as hell, dog. You want to hear us, man? It don't matter to me. I'm homeless. I need somewhere to stay. Goofy. And everybody's talking to their dimes. Don't spit this guy. Spit on me. You get felony charges. Shut the up. I ain't spit. You said that much. That's me farting in your face. In the end, the man seemed to be in pretty high spirits because at least for that night, he'd have somewhere to lay his head. He later plead guilty to charges of theft and resisting arrest. He spent three months in county jail and received a fine of over $1,000. On September 17th, 2023 in Juliet, Illinois, an officer was attending to an existing police matter when a clerk alerted him to a suspicious woman inside a Walgreens carrying an empty yet oversized bag. She'd been filling it with items for the last 20 minutes. Leaving the shop with stolen items in her possession, the woman had now given the officer definitive reason to pursue her. It was an extremely stupid move, and surely it would have been easier to put the items back or proceed through the checkout as normal. But this shoplifter was determined to leave as quickly as possible. Where are you going? Stop. You're under arrest. I'm off at the Walgreens. No, please stop now. Stop. Let me go under. Please let me go. Oh, stop. You are under arrest. Please let me go home. Stop right now. I'm not let go. Please stop. You grab me. Please let go me. We're going to jail. Please. You got nowhere to go back here. If I let go, I'm going to get you on the other side. Let go of me. Please don't. Please. My back is coming and you're going to get tased. PLEASE DON'T STOP RIGHT NOW. PLEASE. OKAY. All right. STOP. OKAY. HANDS UP NOW. HANDS UP. YOU'RE UNDER REST. YOU UNDERSTAND ME? CAN'T PUT MY OTHER HAND UP. Don't put your [ __ ] up. Damn it. Oh, 20 Walgreens and Lin female bit me. She was able to break free from the officer's grasp by biting the man and disappeared into the bushes like a wild animal. Due to the fact she'd already attacked him, it was unwise to pursue the woman on his own, so he immediately requested backup. JOLIA, POLICE K9. AMANDA AND THE ONE LIES. YOU ARE UNDER ARREST. SURRENDER NOW. A DOG WILL USE A SEARCH. HE WILL FIND YOU. HE WILL BITE YOU. JOLIET, police canine. Amanda in the woodline. You are under arrest. MAKE YOURSELF KNOWN RIGHT NOW. A DOG WILL USE A SEARCH. HE WILL FIND YOU AND HE WILL BITE YOU. AFTER being given several warnings to surrender, the officers plunged into the bushes with the canine unit. They were ready to give the woman a taste of her own medicine. Right here. Right here. Stand up. Get up. Get up. [snorts] Turn around. Get off. I can't move. Please help me. Please help me. Get your arms behind your back. Get on your stomach right now. Get on your stomach. Get on your stomach. Put your hands on your back. Arms behind your back. Put your hands on your back. I can't move. Please, please, before I go. I know I'm going. I can't. I have to go to the hospital. Oh, I have severe back. See you guys. You need another one. All right. They dragged this woman out of the bushes, covered in mud and half naked. It's unclear at this point where the remainder of her clothes had gone. Despite this mess she'd obviously put herself in, she immediately pulled the victim card, faking injuries and pretending to be confused. Oh my. Good job, guys. Nice work. I got some gloves. We'll get gloves on, guys. And then uh he's got to go that way. She's come back this way. Ambulance is here. She was escorted into an ambulance with her trousers around her ankles. She might have tried to remove her clothing so she wouldn't match the description that the officer sent to dispatch. The officer she'd bitten returned the stolen items to the store and it was clear the officer hadn't recovered from being savagely attacked. She bitten. So, can you just see what is yours? I'll get a property log. Come to the rear of Walgreens. It's very hard for me to sit up. The dog get bite you, dude? No. Uh, I don't think so. Okay. Are you injured right now? Yeah. What's hurting? Uh, my all my leg. My entire leg. My back. My back is hurting. So much. Why? I have back problems anyway, but I don't know if it was when uh dogs are grabbing or if when I jumped and I when I fell from the fence or So, what's your first name, ma'am? Samantha. It turned out the woman had stolen close to $100 worth of merchandise. The cops also discovered in her handbag, which might explain her aggressive behavior. She was charged with battery of an officer, theft, and possession of a controlled substance. On the 30th of March, 2024 in Washington State, police were called to a Target after a thief returned to the store, having previously escaped with over $1,000 worth of goods. Hello, I'm Joe Lacy Police Department. Hi. Hey. So, right now you're going to be detained for a theft that happened in February. All right. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. No, no, no, no, no. Take the backpack off. I'm sorry. No, that's not me. You okay? Well, we're going to figure that out. But you're being detained right now. So, is going on? I at least get my stuff out of the cart, too. What stuff do you have? I have two bags that are at the bottom of the cart that are mine. Okay. Well, we're going to push all this stuff to loss prevention. All right. Okay. We'll figure out what's going on. My wallet is in there. Okay. Okay. That backpack. Does that belong to you? No. I need to purchase it. You purchase it? All right. Yes. But I want to know why you think I did something. They have video and that's what we're dealing with. So, I'm going to go review the video as well. So, you're being detained right now. All right. Okay. The suspect here remained calm and compliant with the officer's requests. But this was not the typical response you'd expect from an innocent shopper being handcuffed for a theft they didn't commit. And what really caught the officers off guard was the woman's strange alibi. Cuz I haven't been in a store since Well, they have been videoed a couple. Well, there's more than one me, you know. There. Yeah, there is. Actually, I've been I've been harassed and stopped by a few different women that are dressing up like me. This is the second time this [music] has happened to me in here. Okay, not in here, but in like I've been in cuffs twice now because there's somebody using my name and somehow gaining my looks. Now things had taken a bizarre and unexpected turn. Witchcraft hasn't made any appearances in the US judicial system since Salem in 1693. Did she really expect the officers would believe her and go on an actual witch hunt for these so-called impersonators? What is your name? Is it short for anything? J E N Y. [music] Okay. What's your middle initial? L. And what's your last name? Miller. And what is your date of birth? Uh 84. I have I have charges on my record already from somebody doing this to me. The suspect here, Jenny Miller, had done a great job painting herself as the weary victim of these random attacks. She might have been half convincing, but what this woman was talking about sounds like a story from some fantasy fiction novel. Understandably, the cops just aren't buying it. Do you understand each of these rights I've explained to you? Yeah. And having these rights are in mind, do you wish to talk to us now? Yeah. I mean, okay. I'm telling you how it is. [music] Somebody is out there using my name. [laughter] I don't know how they are looking like me, but they are. Okay. [snorts] And this is the second time I've been picked up for something like this without leaving the store. Well, like I said, this is over the February incident, not for today. I haven't been here since Christmas. Look at the video. That is going to be you on that video. What I'm looking at. All right. I don't think it is though that you're saying that. And you also have multiple warrants for theft [music] in other I know. That's what I'm saying. Somebody's out there stealing from stores and using my name. That's not truthful. That's truthful. That is true. That is the truth. So, you want to go with somebody's just using your name and using how how are they looking like that? I don't know. I don't know how they do it. Okay. But I'm being harassed and stalked. [music] Okay. So, like I said, that is unless So, what are we going to do about that? Because I every time I've talked to anybody, they just shrug me off. Well, cuz I'm looking I'm trying to I tried to make police reports with tum water. several times. Well, when it's you on these videos, it's not me, though. I'm telling you, it's not me. All right, we're going to go. All right, so right now you're under arrest theft. Okay. The woman's commitment to the story was impressive, almost as if she convinced herself it was true. However, the complete lack of real tears indicated that this wasn't a delusion or hallucination and [music] just a madeup narrative she deliberately uses to feain innocence. I want to know what's going to be done about me being stuck and harassed. Oh, I need some kind of proof. And then you said these happened in the top water. Her name, you know what? They're in Brettwood Apartments. Track that much down. What I'm saying is these videos I'm looking at, the one I just looked I know. I understand that. I understand that it looks like me, but it's not me. There's some girl out there. There's actually more than one. There's like three or four of them. And they're stalking and gangstalking me and harassing me. They're dressing up like me and going into stores using ritualistic manners. What do I do with Yes. ritualistic? Okay. Like witchcraft. Well, I can't do anything with that. Why? Well, cuz I'm being harassed though that way. Well, ritualistic stuff is I there's nothing I can do with ritualistics. Why? All right. No, it's basically I want to know why you can't do anything about ritualistic. Because I can't prove ritualistic. So, what's your name? That's [ __ ] The cop seemed amused by her claims that supernatural forces were behind the repeated shoplifting. Realizing that she might be mentally unstable, he decided to humor the woman instead of overtly challenging her outrageous claims. It somehow paid off because it was now easier to load her into the cop car. Do you want me to take your bracelets if they're falling off your hand? Just so they just they don't break or you don't lose them. All right. Not mess with your stuff. Jenny was charged with felony theft, but she failed to appear in court and spent 30 days in jail before eventually pleading guilty. She was given 2 years probation and told not to return to Target. On October 14th, 2022, police responded to a call from a 7-Eleven after an ex employee was caught stealing on video. The woman, later identified as a 48-year-old named Rebecca, was currently on probation and was known to police. Okay, so she came in. First of all, I already knew something was going to be fishy because like I was outside in the parking lot sweeping it up smoking a cigarette and I noticed that she pulled in behind the store where of course we have no cameras or anything. I was like she came in with a car. Yeah, she came in in a car. I I'm horrible at like knowing making models and descriptions of cars, but so like all I knew was it was a white car with like black trim on it. Because she previously worked there, she would have known there were no cameras in the back of the store. Perhaps she thought she was being clever, but the woman's obvious attempts to be inconspicuous had an opposite effect. You'll see it. She's asking her some questions, but then she grabs a beer and she tries to run off, but they're on the other side. Each one of them be the registered owner agreement. with a girl's side and she runs right upside right after that. To risk everything just for a can of beer speaks volumes about this woman's decision-making skills. However, it seems the sheer triviality of the crime might have caused her to forget about it altogether. Two weeks later, the cops were able to find her in a local park. Hey, how you doing? Good. How are you? What are you guys doing over here? Oh, he's got to go to the bathroom. You guys are doing anything else? No. Somebody left the water running. So, let the water running? Yeah, the water was running when we came. Rebecca, right? Yep. How you doing? Good. How are you? We got to talk to you about something. Oh, good. Hands behind your back. What are you doing for something right now? Okay. Why am I running from something? Just put your hand behind. Why? Just put your hand behind your back. Come on. What are you guys doing? Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Poopy. Stop. HEY. Help me here. What are you guys doing? Stop. Stop. Stop. Please. Just stop. Hey. Hey. Stop. Poopy. Help. Just Just get back. Get back over there. I'm not playing. Why are you guys doing Who is this guy? Hey, why? Rebecca, please. You're going to get You're going to You're going to get extra charges. You're going to get extra charges. Okay. I'm sorry, but you're hurting me. All right, relax. We got to put scuff on you. Take my bag. No, please. Please, Bubby. Take my bag. You guys are hurting me. You got to hold her. Stop. What the You're wanted for something. No, I'm not. Don't. Rebecca, stop. Please stop. Becky, stop. Please help. Dude, I'm not playing. Help me. What the? At this point, the officer hasn't told her yet what she's being arrested for, but she was already claiming she was innocent. While the man called Poopy clearly didn't want to be involved in this, she continued resisting arrest, calling on Poopy to save her. [screaming] Please help. I hope somebody's recording. I really hope somebody's recording. You're breaking my wrist, guys. Keep keep her down. I'm breaking. Keep her down. Keep her down. No. Keep her down. Keep Stop. Stop resisting. God damn it. Hold her. You got to hold her. God damn it. Please stop. Stop. Stop. You got bring arm over. No. God damn it. Why are you doing this? Please do. Why? For what? You stole from 7-Eleven. No, I did not. Yes, you did. When? I haven't even been out here. I promise I haven't even been out here. I haven't even been out here. She seemed genuinely confused about why she was being arrested. But most people wouldn't forget being chased out of a store for stealing. And this [music] whole thing only happened two weeks ago. As the cops were busy getting her under control, her friend made a very quick exit. Who Who's Poopy? What's his name? was out here. Ow. Ow. Ow. What's his name? I don't know his name. He goes by poopy. Oh. Why are you Why are you resisting right now? Cuz I don't know what's going on. We told you. I didn't do nothing, though. You're winged for stealing. I didn't do it. Listen, you stole beer from the 7-Eleven. No, I didn't. The guy knows you that you used to work there. I know that. Why would I do that? I haven't even been over here. I I mean, I swear I have not been over here. I promised that. I'm on probation. I just got out of jail for this stuff. I have not done none. I promise I haven't done anything. I really, really haven't. Okay, relax. Relax. I got to read your rights. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you. I didn't do this in a court of law. See, but but you're not being honest with me. I am being honest. So, I can't work with you. When you went to 7-Eleven about a week and a half ago, you you took the beer, right? the case of beer. Oh, the honey, right? I remember that. Now, miraculously, Rebecca suddenly remembered stealing the beer. Clearly, in the broader scheme of her life, stealing beer was a non-event. It's like it was so insignificant that she just couldn't bother remembering. It kind of begs the question, what other crimes did she commit before that that were way worse than this? I was forced to. You was forced? Yes. By them? By them? Yes. That's the That's the white car. They forced you to do that? Yeah, they were supposed to take me over to my son's house. No, my friend. Why? Why you still They were taking me to my son's house. Why did they force you to do that though? I don't know. So So what happened? Like Okay, I'm homeless, right? And I have nowhere to go. So I've been staying over at this her house, the girl in the white car, and she's like, "If you don't go there, you're going to have a place to play." I have nowhere to go. So I did. So, what happened? You took the beer. I went out the store and the lady said, "Stop." So, I dropped it and I ran. You went past the register, went outside. I went out the door and that's that's a theft. I got to the side and I She said, "Stop." I dropped the beer and I ran. But that's a theft. I did. I don't want to go to jail. Please. Sorry. We got We got no choice. You got two or more convictions. It seems to be a common theme among petty criminals. It's always someone else's fault. They can never take responsibility for their actions. even if they've been caught multiple times. And usually they're also habitual liars. Don't be scared. You're already I'm so scared. This jail is horrible, bro. Horrible. Do you have any here? No, sir. I don't. Is there any needles in here? No, I don't. You promise? I promise. Because if there is, then you got to tell me. I swear there's not. I promise there's not. Hey, Molly, shine a light in my light. I just got to make sure. Okay. No, there's no at all. I promise there's not. Hey, Molly, shine a light in here cuz I promise there's no drugs in there. I just got to make sure. Okay. No, there's no drugs at all. I don't know what that cleared thing is right there. You don't know what that I don't know what that is. That ain't mine. That is not mine. I was in the back seat with the girl. I promise you guys. The container they found in her possession contained marijuana. She then went on to claim that she felt like she was being set up as the officers continued searching her, finding some very interesting and suspicious items in her bag. What is this toy? I going to lie. You're going to be fine. This will end, too. Okay. But am I going to go to jail? Yes. Please, no. You have to, Rebecca. Why do I have to go to jail? Why? For for stealing. Please don't take me to jail. I'm begging you. I'm so begging you. I I'll I'll work I don't give a what I have to do not to go to jail. I promise you. Why? Why? Why are you so scared of going to jail? Like the jail's horrible. Horrible. But you can't get clean in there. I I don't need to get clean. I'm on probation. Huh? Aside from the fact that she was clearly not sober. The woman's suggestion that she wouldn't break probation was absurd, especially considering that moments earlier she just admitted violating it by stealing from 7-Eleven. I will I will get whatever you guys want. Whatever dealers you want. I will do whatever it takes. I'm not kidding. Please don't make me go to jail. God, no. [sighs] Oh my god. Please. Come on. Oh, you can't take this with you. work with me. I can't I can't Why can't you? Because I mean Because why? Why can't you work with me? I will work for you. Do you want me to turn your phone off? I don't care. You don't care? I'll turn it off for you. As nice as the officers were, Rebecca's dramatics didn't phase them whatsoever. If she was this devastated about going to jail, she should have been scared straight and made some better choices. Now, what what is this stuff? Tell me what this is. That's a crack pipe. Okay, but what is what is what is this? Brillo. What? Brillo. What is that? The spring brillow pad. Huh? Brillo pad. Goes on. Exactly. So there is no in here. Uh I'm sure there are, but the residue is not mine. That's not mine. I smoke 305 100 full flavors right there. Not 305 blue. Why did you tell that guy here take my bag? Cuz it's on my phone and everything. This wasn't my bag. I wouldn't tell somebody. Here, take my bag. I was like, "Here, take this." That's why he didn't want to take it, obviously, cuz they said, "Put it in there." After throwing her friends and her dealers under the bus, the cops here had heard enough. They took her straight to jail, and Rebecca was charged with lararseny, resisting arrest, and violation of probation. On the 30th of June, 2024 in Evston, a call came in reporting a repeated shoplifter who was trespassing at a CVS store. The woman, who was in her 70s, was an unlikely suspect. But her method of concealing stolen goods was even more peculiar. Ma'am. Ma'am, can I talk to you? I let this thing right here. Watch it. Watch it. Look in the bag. Watch it. Look in the bag. Look in the bag. Considering her age, the suspect here did a pretty good job outrunning the young officer. Perhaps she'd gotten her endurance from all the stealing she'd done in the past and running from law enforcement. Get out. Let me see your hands. Get out. What are you doing? Get out. Thank you. Hiding her face towards the wall between two dumpsters just might have foreshadowed the shame she was about to feel. The cops were about to search the woman and while it might not look like she was carrying anything, it was surprising how well hidden things can be. You can't run from police. Come on, stay with me. Look at you. You have to stand up. That's crazy. I put it back the thing and they still want to charge. As if this situation wasn't embarrassing enough, she now had one of her peers calling her out for her behavior. Nevertheless, she continued saying she was innocent, and she was hoping the cops wouldn't find what she'd concealed. What's going on? What are you reaching for? My pad. What are you not reaching for your Yes, I am. Take your hands off. Look at the napkin. Why? Let go. Look at the napkin. Just stop. See, it's all Yeah, you're stupid in here. No, I'm not. I'm looking. I'm feeling it. I'm not. Just stop. Just stop. Pull my clothes down. Stop. Stop. Listen to me. Stop. Stop. Pull my clothes down. Stop. Stop. You're hurting me. I don't care. Stop. Stop. What are you hurting me for? Just relax. Stop. How did you do that? You're hurting me. Can you hold her? She's definitely in her. No, I'm not. The female officer was certain the woman still had stolen items on her, and she was determined to find them, even if it meant she had to check every crevice in the woman's body. Spread your legs. Stop. Stop playing games. You're hurting me. I don't care. You're hurting me. I told you. switch. Yeah, she dropped them when I started uh chasing her. Yeah, like in between the cars. It's like a personal purse, like a tote bag. It's on the south side of the street by the McDonald's across. All right, she's good. put it away. Yeah. Good. Watch your head. Oh, yeah. It wasn't our way to the original. As it turned out, this seasoned criminal had indeed been hiding stolen items. Well, like we said, in a very private area. With evidence in hand, they took her down to the station where she was charged. When shoplifterss go to extreme lengths to avoid getting caught, the consequences can quickly escalate from minor to severe. Lying to cops when caught red-handed or resisting arrest are surefire ways to speed up a trip to jail. Once you've crossed that line from petty to serious crimes, there's no escaping the law.
