from this Carson City sheriff's officer who arrested a federal agent on an investigation to an interaction between an Orlando cop and a federal agent here are times idiot cops got humbled by CIA and FBI agents how you doing sir good all right what's let me to turn with the sheriff's off it's reason I'm stopping you is your your Plate's obstructed whatever that thing's got you got to take it off okay okay it's got to be visible within a certain distance now when you went to driving school and a c pulls you over what they tell you no you pull over when it's sa no you pull over immediately okay let me tell you this and that will you pull over immediately sure um because I don't know what you're doing inside this car sure fighting guns you know what I mean officer safety is number one so pull over immediately this is Deputy Torres of the Carson City sheriff's office conducting an unlawful traffic stop on a retired federal agent on April 22nd 2022 the initial reason for the traffic stop was an ncic National Crime information center Vehicle Record check which returned the federal officer's license plate as having a block this is a common law enforcement ncic records inquiry response for government vehicles during this stop Deputy Torres detained the subject and conducted an incidental search of his person the vehicle which had red and blue lights that were not displaying was also searched Deputy Torres retrieved an FBI special agent badge from the agent's front pocket and proceeded to conduct a full search of the vehicle without first obtaining a warrant thereby violating the agent's Fourth Amendment rights here's how the rest of this interaction unfolded if for whatever reason I find it not safe I'll get on the PA say hey turn over at whatever stop you know what I mean but when you keep rolling it it it makes it go to from like just a routine deal to like I just didn't want to stop right there in the road where there's nowhere to pull up yeah well I initially turned turned on right when you were in front of that little store to get sure yeah so you know what I mean but you was like way back there I I thought I didn't know if you're running your side for me or for well and then even then when you see Sil going what are you supposed to do still keep going or pull over so the cop go past you yeah sure sure you know what I mean yeah yeah no I know we train one let's see if what's under here inside at the time of the arrest of the retired FBI agent he had been on assignment investigating child trafficking involving Nevada public officials however Deputy Torres earns a straight f for arresting him on charges of police impersonation without first establishing probable cause following this unlawful arrest of a federal agent Deputy Torres has been relieved of his position as a peace officer but he isn't the only cop who crossed paths with FBI and CIA agents and got humbled as we see in this next [Music] case hey turn around let me see your responding to reports of someone impersonating a police officer the cops quickly detained and arrested him despite trying to resist the arrest and claiming he had medical conditions the officers had to resort to tase him during the arrest here's how the interaction unfolded get on the ground now get on the ground [ __ ] is your deal get on the ground now I'm a federal agent 9171 103 I'm a federal agent get on the ground get on the ground I'm a federal agent I'm a why wouldn't you show me your ID when I got here don't move forward rep you didn't ask for it you didn't ask for it 33 get on the have no problem making this pocket you're the one overreacting I'm not overreacting we got a call that someone's impersonating a police officer out here doesn't have ID no kidding cuz she doesn't want like this I didn't act anyway oh after detaining James Burke the officers spoke with the residents of the house who had reported the agent as someone impersonating a cop they provided the full details of their encounter with Burke here's what they had to say about their experience are you guys the ones that originally called yes okay what what did he say to you when he was talking to you I have to open the door because he's a police I tell him I can't open the door because my husband officers on the edge BR we were finally able to he say you have to open the door I tell him I'm sorry I can't I'm stay with my kids my kids St crying because they they afraid and I tell him did he ever try to did he ever try and break the door or anything like that yes he is still knock and he say I will stay here until evening if you don't open the door because you are layer okay very good there's a chance the sergeant might want to talk to you so thank you very much apprciate I didn't think about it but that sure would have made it easier well if I reach for it I didn't even realize I had it on you want turn camera off let's turn our camera off James Burke was fired from the ATF for conduct Unbecoming of a special agent as a result of this incident however in the next case it's the cops who messed around with a CIA agent and got thoroughly humbl you run your body cam I I am now because I don't know how legit you are at the moment it's okay espe agent have the FBI okay you got that on body cam I do but I don't understand what the problem is with you meet me at the office I'll talk to the US attorney's office about it you can cut off the reporting device now okay I will when I leave the area sir hey TJ this guy is uh telling me to turn my body camera off and telling me he's going to contact other people to get involved with this Attorney office let me get his tag number real quick it's going to be lkss t57 this officer here is Deputy Gordon and he doesn't know what this situation is about to unfold for him in this encounter with special agent Harton on December 20th 2019 special agent Haron even showed him a badge to confirm his identity as a federal agent the encounter escalates when Deputy Gordon becomes infuriated after agent Harton asks him to turn off his camera special agent Harton later calls his team asking them to to contact the sheriff's office however Deputy Gordon refuses to back down and insists on verifying his identity as an FBI agent he eventually detains agent Harton for 15 minutes after a search of their database fails to return any record of him as an FBI agent unbeknownst to the deputy this action constitutes the unlawful detention of a federal agent he says he does not give out business cards yeah I don't I don't believe this no there's something fishy with this right here c yeah he told me to turn my body camera off because he he didn't want that running and uh so now he's no he's still here he's looking at me 3 do you work for a wiring company it's a covert vehicle sir [Applause] okay I do feel like I'm being detained am I being detained am I being detained you're the one who called me here sir how did you get my phone number I can't give you that information he s he can't tell me how you got got my information hey you are detained at this time sir 33 Franklin I got one whiskey M detained at this time 17's on the way hey I don't think this guy's legit man do I have permission to take it off you don't have just hang tight right I'm not cuffing you I'm not cuffing you but you're being very uncooperative with me I you asked me to come up here you called my personal cell phone number you you can't tell me how you got it your vehicle's coming back to a wiring company not the FBI covert vehicle okay you would you like to see some registration you get mad at me because I turned my body camera on would you like to see some reg and you know a lot of stuff about me that's you don't have to keep your hands up I'm just trying to figure out what shot out here I don't want to be shot either I'm going to call my office yes sir by Z Jacksonville this special agent had working out T sir I can't discuss it with you I was here to discuss that with him well I'm here backing him up so I know you are I know you are I was here to discuss that with him for 43 my body camera was not on at the entire time of this call I turned it on whenever I suspected something was not right with this I never asked for your weapon sir you told me you had one on you you said you wanted to take it off of me didn't you sir I asked for permission once you said that you had one I never asked you tell your sergeant I was here about a ticket that you had issued I told him that you were here to investigate me about an issue and he said this needed to be handled through the office not on the side of the road and you said and you said that that that wasn't going to happen you were going to contact somebody else I was going to contact the US attorney's office that's correct yeah and then we're just trying to check your validity you you are you called a deputy sheriff's personal cell phone you can't tell me how you got the number that's right your Tag's not coming back to the FBI correct okay I have seen a badge I've seen an ID card I haven't seen a badge you have not seen no sir I haven't seen a badge I've seen an ID card I handed this to you did you grab it take it out of my hand do you not see a badge I see a badge now that's the first time I saw the badge sir you don't need to be [Applause] aut I saw this he kept opening this yeah we've uh detained this whiskey mic got him in cuffs in the back of the car now just called me and like hey man what's up I said I got to go meet this guy he's investigating something I need air brother okay okay suffering all right I'm turning it on right now open the door I can't breathe sir I can't open the door you're being detained right now6 [Applause] franklin5 what is that gentleman's name you got got think it ain't the heat you haven't cooperated with anything name it's going to be Alexis Hatton Alexis [Applause] Hatton your you have your body camera will steal brother absolutely it ain't going off thank you brother I begging for you heard the air I am you're burning me up brother I had the defroster on no you did brother I need air god almighty 5 33 I know you think this is funny but it won't be funny after the day 33 go ahead finally the supervisor arrived at the scene and confirmed that agent Harton was indeed a federal agent it was at this moment that the deputies including Deputy Gordon realized they had made a serious mistake in mistreating a federal agent however even after recognizing their error the deputies failed to take Swift action to release agent Harton instead they continued conversing for several more minutes before finally allowing him out of the car what's he doing here he is legit 1045 I'm now um Captain web just called Veri Captain I don't know 33 to5 could you advise me who verified that this person was [Music] [Applause] [Music] legit what's he doing what's he he called me here sheriff and says he called my personal cell phone he said can do you mind me sitting in my car with me real quick he showed me he flipped open this just credentials it didn't show back call 911 call I need a medical attention we're at the new substation for the Sheriff's Office Franklin 8 911 I've asked for help I've been in the car they've had me spoken to the verify that my AC's on real quick John it's on now it was on when how could I not touch how could I touch it yeah it's on yeah 911 I asked for the sheriff's call 911 they won not going through the back seat yeah I would guess my window is open back there yeah we location sou decision was made to uh detain him while we were checking his legitimacy yeah and uh we put him in the back and uh after that he started complaining of uh shortness of breath vision loss uh and whatever else he's got going on that's and that's that's up and he claims I had the heat on in the car no oh but I don't where uh where do you want to [Applause] go make sure I got his your don't know what you're talking about get it whatever's fine my gun and [Applause] stuff you may get both sets there's one on the dashboard [Applause] too okay special agent Haron was taken to a hospital where he received treatment and was later released how however Deputy Gordon's handling of the situation was a complete blunder despite his Sheriff supervisor claiming that his actions were correct this however wasn't the last time police officers were humbled by federal agents as we will see in the next case what's going on a mar orl Landa police way back there when you're leaving that residential area right there on tample I what now you're making a right on Tampa mhm right that light there is very small and you made the right hand turn Okay so that's why I'm stopping you mean the angle like yes sir it was green it so even though at that angle that's for the other way and people always get that confused but it's a small light right on April 10th 2021 a team of Orlando police officers conducted a traffic stop on a U-Haul truck after seeing it run a red light however they soon discovered that the operator of the vehicle was Dwayne Rivers the head of internal affairs for their own Police Department here's how the officers found themselves in an unexp expected position during this encounter you guys any gun any car excuse me any guns and weapons in the car no you still
