took their car for a test drive and then never came back patrol cars were on the lookout and the missing car was soon spotted as the officers approached the vehicle the female driver swiftly scooted to the passenger seat what's going on man you just riding in the car by yourself I like I didn't see you jump over no he get out the car that wasn't me yeah it was no it wasn't all right who wasn't they let you pull up with this car like that I don't know she just told me to go to the um gas station why would they let you pull off with the car I don't know what's the problem the car is stol one the owners supposedly Mel and Pat are a white female and a black male who let this woman and her boyfriend take the car for a test drive but the supposed boyfriend is nowhere to be seen why would they give me the title if it was supposed to be some you know what I'm saying was left in the car they still have their belongings and everything I don't understand why you lied and say somebody else was driving it and then you told me you was stop driving well I was taking it to the mechanic to have him look at why why you see where you already compounded a lie I I compounded a lie why did you jump over in the passenger seat then because I haven't got the title transferred yet he said nothing about test driving it until you found out it was stolen well that's because y'all just said it's stolen but I have why why did you hop over in the passenger seat who was driving the car earlier anybody or no my boyfriend told me come meet him over here to have a mechanic look at him who's your boyfriend more time and she confirms she understood everything finally it was time to get some facts from her what address did you meet these people to buy buy the car I met them at the BP sir you met them at the BP yes the car was posted on Craiglist for sale uh-huh I met them at the BP that's it I was told to take it to the mechanic to have it looked over I just got out the county homeless with nothing okay and I've been on the streets I have a book bag and they told me tell driving and take it to the mechanic who told you test drive my boyfriend who what's your boyfriend's name Terence teren that her boyfriend Terrence bought the vehicle off of Craigslist and that he was the one that was driving it supposedly she just met the guy recently she was adamant that she did not steal the car although all the evidence pointed at her I that's not my car I ain't got the car but I didn't steal it so why am I being arrested do you have the Craigslist at um no he said he got it on crais he told you he got it onra I just got my phone not even a week ago like I'm not know I just got out my court dat got rescheduled for the 19th I'm not trying to commit crimes and get in trouble like I can't go to jail again for for stealing something I didn't steal it it's a simple test drive and they you get in the passenger seat when we tried to stop you because I still have to work my stuff out with my it however when it was time for the car to be returned he asked to extend the rental the problem is he never paid for the extension it wasn't until March that the rental company decided to report the crime so I'm the C stolen his name is Andy he actually BR the reservation to come in today did you say Andy I just s him yesterday this is the demand letter we sent this is the FedEx time stamp that we sent it to him this is the registration and all the information for then the staff gave it the notary and then my signature okay when was he supposed to return it he was supposed to return it a while ago he picked it up in January it's a Toyota Cor that's just been in the wind yeah I saw it yesterday he was supposed to return it on the six but he kept extending but okay this is this is just the contract that they had printed out the funny part I just think it's weird because literally I was talking to my risk manager doing everything I called you guys and then his reservation just came several times during the chase trying to incapacitate the suspect's vehicle remarkably he continued driving at crazy speeds often going over 90 mph running on three wheels coming around the big S curbs still approaching part Road looks like uh suspect's losing a second Tire now 3333 suspect is in oncoming Lane of traffic Westbound oncoming Lane of traffic eastbound 65 mph it's crossing over back in the eastbound proper L of traffic uh Gastro and 6 no additional traffic with tires going flat one by one it's insane that the suspect was still able to drive at all from time to time the car would swerve off the road and then the driver would regain control again even when the vehicle was left with only one good Tire the driver kept on going 33 33 suspect vehicle just lost a third tire for 60 in Ganon Road 70 mph no oncoming traffic vehicle is in the East B Lane of traffic the only tire that should be intacted is the rear passenger side wheel rear passenger side currently approaching units now you are coming up behind 3333 we're about a half mile L appear to be negative spikes from State Patrol suspect vehicle just crossed over into the oncoming Lane of traffic 478 spikes at Highway 16 MC Highway 16 M spikes the cops figured they had to try and get rid of that last good tire but it has to be done just right deploying the spikes is easy the trick trick thing is basically it's a maneuver when the patrol car nudges the fleeing vehicle trying to force it to stop or crash it's a risky move because there's an innocent passenger in the car however they're running was scared sced beyond belief first she gets kidnapped then taken on a wild police chase and now there's a bunch of cops shouting pointing guns in her general direction they're not aiming at her of where all this started and meth was found in it along with drug paraphernalia so when they got to Jail the officer decided to do some field sobriety tests and pay attention to how the suspect follows believe that you're under the influence of something all right uh so I'm am going to place you back under arrest for operating well under the influence okay the suspect was charged with operating a vehicle without consent imprisonment vehicle fleeing alluding an officer and possession of methamphetamine also he received several citations to the tune of $4,000 including one for operating while Under the Influence his bond was set at $40,000 a similar Chase happened in partyville Wisconsin where in February 2022 several police vehicles engaged in pursuit of an SUV that was reported stolen from a local repair shop one a long vehicle headest get along of it [Applause] the car chase started when the vehicle was spotted driving recklessly several times the officers tried to engage the suspect and somehow get the woman to stop until suddenly the suspect came to a dead end and then got stuck trying to reverse coming up track between the trees and the track one has the dogu stuck do Chelsea schwagerl drove her car into a ditch then she got a genius idea to go to a nearby repair shop and steal an SUV and now she got herself trapped in a ditch again that's when the officers decided second degree recklessly endangering safety and taking a vehicle without consent in addition she was charged with operating while revoked and two counts of bail jumping both of which are classified as misdemeanors and on top of that she received several traffic citations and her bail was increased from $5,000 to1 a lot of the cases we see are drug induced and this one is no different apparently Cleveland Police found three people asleep in a stolen SUV this was in a parking lot behind a local business they slowly approach to inspect the vehicle vehicle is entered out of East Cleveland stolen all right that we Cy up by three mes all sleeping open up open up your hands let me see your hand let me see your hand 109 let me see your hand let me see your hand slow keep your hands up as officers tried to wake them up it became apparent that they were most likely under the influence of drugs at first they seemed to be dazed but Cooperative but then something totally unexpected happened hey we got back passenger hey move him move him grab those keys out hold on not yet keep eye on him stop moving stop moving stop moving here get out of the car get out of the car ain't nobody even did nothing so I'm just saying hold on no you get out of the car I'm about to get out of the car can I get out get out let's go the female officer should have immediately dragged the driver out and placed him in handcuffs instead she was too busy ordering the other officers around that gave the suspect enough time to come to his senses and when he did he decided that he definitely didn't want to go to jail show me your hand he car's off car's off car's off P off watch out watch out move even if she decided not to immediately drag him out she should have at least secured his car keys the car really was off until the suspect turned it back on that is and drove off dragging the officers behind here's the situation from another officer's point of view outy no get out get get down help get get on your stomach P's okay yeah I'm good the third officer ran to the vehicle when he heard the commotion and then ran after the vehicle as the suspect tried to flee his body cam captured the female officer being dragged along and the suspect crashing the SUV into the patrol car hey hey get away from the car [Applause] get out of car let him [Applause] go get get help here help on your stomach help help me okay yeah I'm good get out help me all the blame is undoubtedly on the suspect however a female officer made a rookie mistake by not taking those keys out of the nition that's the first thing she should have done yet for some reason she was hesitant here's the situation as the officer behind her saw it his goal was to secure the passenger in the back seat car get out get out your hands your hands can see off car is off your feet around watch out watch out move bro help oh get get the F get the down how are you are you this officer was lucky that he made it inside the vehicle just in time if he kept clinging to it on the outside he definitely would have been crushed between the two cars what really impressed me about this situation is how much the officers cared about each other's safety okay yeah I'm good get out you [ __ ] are you good no I'm good do we got all three do we have all three as for the suspect as soon as he was dragged out he immediately started playing the victim C this guy even blamed the cop s for trying to kill him even though it was definitely the other way around to kill me you toax who is that turn over right now R over turn over you good I got I got it hey hey hey I got it get his get his left arm the car put arm back back seat check the back seat the driver was later identified as Mero Bay who'd been charged with 10 felonies in the past two decades including stolen property drugs and domestic violence he'd been released from jail not too long ago on weapons and drug charges and now he's added three counts of felonious assault on police officers and receiving stolen property hopefully this time they won't let him off the hook so easily it seems like a lot of these criminals get released quickly and then go back to committing
