Thompson from the Hall County Sheriff's Office patrolled on I 985 when he observed a vehicle over speeding the vehicle allegedly crossed 90 mph and was followed by Officer Thompson who made him pull officer Thompson had approached officer Davis he immediately detected an odor of alcohol subsequently officer Thompson inquired officer Davis if he had been drinking to which he denies to have consumed any intoxicating substance instead alleging that his wife had been drinking near him officer Thompson therefore decides to conduct field sobriety tests watch how officer Davis performs in consumed two beers before driving his vehicle he failed the hgn test conducted by the officer and was consequently arrested officer Davis appeals to his relationship with the arresting officer emphasizing their shared history trust and friendship and suggesting that a true friend wouldn't proceed with the arrest he downplays his actions insisting that he only had a couple of beers and isn't truly intoxicated arguing that the arrest is unnecessary given the minimal impact of his drinking he also tried to threaten officer Thompson while asking some personal questions on the way to the jail he was taken to jail and was charged with speeding and DUI officer Davis resigned from his position a few days later after this incident if you think this was the only instance where idiot cops tried
