entitled cops got outmatched by suspects let's start with the case of a 19-year-old law student named Joel who managed to outsmart campus officers the campus police had apprehended him based on reports that he had been seen entering his dorm with alcohol here's how we handled the situation oh sorry I can help you is there anyone else in here uh no it's just me okay you mind just opening the you're I'm studying right now I'm doing homework get knocked on my door I'm out here I want to know what's on you say that they they said that there's alcohol in this room oh they saw me going into this room and that there's alcohol in there how can you articulate it though okay so that's why I'm here talking to you yeah okay so I still need ID you uh no and then we need to go from there you to clearly articulate a reason for needing to see Joel's ID at his request their supervisor Sergeant John Lovelace was called to the scene here's how the interaction unfolded with Joel immediately here that if I had don't ID I will be subject to arrest is that true it's possible yes possible yes or no I need I need that ultimatum or else I won't get my ID okay so technically right now yes you the question is is that like the officer told you you're being suspected of having possession of alcohol underage so in that case the easiest way to prevent this is for you to let us know either you have you got somebody saw you carry a case of beer you have case of beer in your possession I don't answer questions okay all right um so the other the next the next step in this process would be would you give us consent to check your room n to make sure that you have no alcohol in your possession I do not consent to searches nor seizures okay very good all right um this is completely up to you how you want to play this you could get a warrant or you could so or you have probable costs goad right now we do have reasonable suspicion that possibly a crime had been committed we're trying to investigate that MH you're certainly welcome to refuse if you wish I know but we need to ID you or and if we do not if you do not present your identification you can face it onra citation you're saying could I need you to say you will I'm giving you the opportunity to no I need that ultimatum I will give you my idea if you say that I'm going to go get arrested if I don't give it to you so you'll give us if we say that if you say that yes sir cuz that's already grounds for me to set up litigation against you so you're threatening the sewers I ain't threaten nothing brother that's what 19-year-old owned the cops in Grand style humbling them with his Superior knowledge of the law and his rights now let's look at the next case where an officer was humbled in seconds during a traffic stop involving two teenage occupants one of the teens a young woman schooled the officer on the very traffic rules he was failing to follow while writing her a ticket here's how they put the officer in his place in seconds quick sure um how are we getting a ticket for speeding if we were following you and your lights were not on cuz I was trying to catch up to somebody but your lights and why were you following me you were I'm saying you were in front of us and your lights weren't on so we were going your speed so how are we getting a ticket cuz your speeding but that means you were as well that's because I'm doing my job I'm allowed to do that without but this isn't the only officer to be outmatched by suspects as we'll see in the next case this is 15-year-old Jack who witnessed a forced entry and unlawful arrest of his father Michael when officers showed up at their home in park City Utah on September 29th 2019 after his father declined to respond to their questions the officers barged in tased him and attempted a forceful arrest Jack however recorded the entire scene and schooled the officers on the law getting schooled by a minor was something the cops would never have expected and despite multiple attempts to intimidate him jack held his ground in every interaction here's how it all unfolded going I help you hello are you um Michael hi uh can I help you apprehended Jack during the interaction and attempted to intimidate him by pointing out that he needed a license for the gas powered bicycle he had been riding this situation arose when a neighbor became frustrated by the noise and called the police during this incident Jack's dad Michael got into an argument with the neighbor who claimed that Michael had a weapon on him so when the officer mentioned Jack needing a license for his bicycle here's how Jack put him in his place once again stay back I'm going if you try and come past me you're going to go on the ground face first you understand okay and then I'm going to file a complaint against you get your camera go grab your camera yes I'm allowing you to do that but you cannot walk in my house house I have three cops on me and I'm 15 years old cuz you guys intruded my house your attitud so you were the one driving up and down the street on the motorcycle uh I was on my gas bicycle okay that's gas power vehicle you have to have a driver's license um no you don't not when it's 50 c there's no I no it was just a concern for TR to oh no absolutely but I don't think there's any reason to try wrri a warrant to get in the house we'll identify him through him I'll just do TLO or whatever okay and then the friend I've got his information their statements couldn't care less because they're not Cooperative all just refer interaction a million dooll lawsuit was filed against the Park City Utah police officers along with criminal charges two of the officers involved in this incident have since been fired now let's look into the next case of cops who got schooled by a suspect in a video posted on September 14th 2022 a British citizen was filming in public when officers from the hedo Police Department approached him and initiated an unlawful arrest that was completely unnecessary this citizen was well aware of his rights here's how the interaction unfolded sorry I'm PC cart right oh hello PC cart right are you two Boulder Colorado cops and a citizen who knew his rights well enough to outmatch the officers the cops approached the man claiming they had reasonable suspicion that he was drinking alcohol in public even though he was merely drinking a can of pepsy the citizen wasted no time in ensuring that the cops didn't get their way with harassing him here's how this unfolded hey gentlemen how you random citizens standing outside a Checker's restaurant however they were left speechless when the citizens didn't budge and refused to engage in conversation here's how this incident unfolded silent
