On June 28th, a deputy received a call from a resident reporting that Lindsay N. Johnson, a woman with an active warrant, was at his house, but she had already fled. But then moments later, another call came in. The woman had returned. The deputy rushed back only to spot a car matching Johnson's description, driving erratically, not just driving recklessly. Lindsay even ignored the emergency lights and ran over two stop signs before finally getting pulled over at her own driveway. As she bolted towards her garage, the deputy tackled her, resulting in head and shoulder pain complaints from Johnson. I'm just going to have to switch to my knees at some point. She was then transported to the Bonner County Jail for booking and further procedures. Oh, yeah. Right. Hold on. Hold on. I got you. I got you. I'm going to pull it to the front. Careful. Careful. I know. I know. I'm sorry, Lindsay. I know. I have her clearance paperwork for you guys already. It's all appreciate it. Y the doc did prescribe meds for her. Is it a warrant or charges? Fresh charges. It's a long story. Little bit of a pursuit. Yeah, she's also got a Yeah, she cut her head. It's already been glued from last time I saw you. It was a It was It was something. So, I'm working this side. Can I just put her stuff in there and give you guys booking sheet in like an hour so I can go grab food I haven't eaten? What's the charge? Uh, two misdemeanor count or a misdemeanor count of looting. A misdemeanor count of resist arrest. I don't know. All I need is charges for the time being. So all right. And then uh we have to test a crack pipe she had. She might have a mostly felony. Most likely a felony charge as well if Cool. I'll put her stuff in here for now if that's okay with you guys. Dang it. Meanwhile, during the procedures, the cops approached Lindsay to get information about what had happened and why she had reacted the way she did. Lindsay was quite honest about everything, which the officers appreciate. I totally understand that. Could I would you be able to talk to me for just a quick minute? Okay. You feeling sober now or? Well, I was sober. Well, I mean, but they gave you a bunch of meds, right? Yeah. Okay. All right. I'm just going to remember I told you I wasn't going to talk to you until I had my card. Okay. So, I'm just going to read this to you real quick. Okay. Then we can talk. Right. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can all be get you court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him present with you while you're being questioned. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed for you free of charge for any questioning if you want. You understand each of these rights? I've explained to you, Lindsay. Did you understand all that? Mhm. Okay. Um, so what happened today? Did you see me trying to stop you? When I took a right? Mhm. You turned right on to East Comeback. You didn't see me at that point? I didn't think anyone was after me or anything. Well, I wasn't. I tried to stop you on East comeback bay lane after you made that first right. We need to see that part. I didn't see you coming on comeback bay bay. Okay bay when I realized it. Okay. Why did you run the stop sign then? Because of my warrant and I wanted to call you dad. Okay. Because you knew you had a warrant. So you saw me in the area and you knew you had a warrant. Yeah. That makes me look so bad when I say that. No, it it doesn't make you sound bad. You're just telling the truth, which kind of makes sense on why you did the things you did. So, okay. So, did you see me when I turned on to comeback bay from Bottle Bay the fir before you made your first right when I hit the end of the street there? No. Okay. So, you had to have seen me on East Comeback Bay then, right? Or why else would you have ran that stop sign if you see what I'm saying? Right. You'd seen me at some point then because my lights were on when I was on Bay. That's when I saw you. Okay. And you lights up for me. Yep. Okay. All righty. So, what was the deal when we got to the house? Why did you not listen to me and try to go into the garage to make that phone call? Okay. Did you hear me telling you to get on the ground? Yeah. Yeah. That was the reason why I went back to the house. Okay. So, you did hear me, but you still wanted to keep doing that so you could call her dad. I just was so terrified of her. Well, I mean, I agree, but we could have not done all of that. And we I don't think we've ever not allowed someone to call a child's dad because of a warrant. That makes sense for future reference in hindsight. Okay. Do you have any questions for me, Lindsay? Um, I'm just sorry, man. It's okay. I'm sorry, too. I really am. I'm sorry you got hurt. You tore up. Well, I didn't want that to happen. I promise. That is the last thing I'd ever want to happen to somebody's injury. So, I I am sincerely sorry. I do appreciate your apology and I apologize in return. Okay. When deputies searched Johnson's car, they found a glass pipe with a white substance inside that tested positive for cocaine. Along with her previous warrant for having drugs and drug tools, Johnson was arrested on new charges of fleeing from a police officer, resisting arrest, possessing cocaine, and having drug paraphernalia.
