He's not selling you out or nothing, is he? >> Selling me out? What do you mean? >> He's not working you? >> I mean >> Oh, would you Stay in there. Stay there. You want to fight? You want to fight? >> He smells drugs. >> Put your hands behind you. >> RIGHT NOW, THEY'RE ARRESTING ME, MOM. >> [screaming] >> WOAH, WOAH, WOAH. GET BACK. >> THE COPS, of course, have to follow law and procedure, but they also can rely on their instincts. When entitled suspects think they can lie their way out of things, it's up to the men and women in blue to see through it all and catch the criminals. Just like when the officers knew these entitled women were hiding [music] something. >> You said you're Denise? >> Yeah. What's wrong with it? >> Okay, so you're saying that you were Denise, but it's actually Deborah? >> Yes, I'm sorry. You had me all discombobulated. I'm talking to my friend and he's on the phone. >> Mhm. Okay. >> Like I just wow. >> On the 11th of February, 2025 in Texas, one of [music] the bank tellers at Prosperity Bank noticed something was off. A woman in a wig walked in and she was trying to cash a check worth $4,500. The woman's wig wasn't the only red flag. Almost everything else was, including her name and her signature and the account she was trying to withdraw from. >> Come on here. >> I have a fluid situation. >> Sure. Sorry, I got my supervisor on the phone. Um that Okay, that person right there with the >> The black coat. >> The one with the wig on? >> Mhm. >> Um just confirmed that that's not the person they're pretending to be because they're from Richmond and I I called the son and he's like, "No, my mom's at work." And the [music] notes on the account show that their purse and ID was stolen. And they're trying to cash a check for $4,200. There's not even close to that amount in there. And the signature doesn't match. None of it is [music] right. >> Once the bank employee confirmed that he had proof the woman was trying to defraud the bank, there wasn't much more to do but to arrest her. When the officer first approached her, she was dismissive. She seemed angry, like the officer was bothering her. But the moment he asked about her name and ID, she began to lose her composure. >> Hi there, how you doing? >> Fine. >> You doing [music] all right? Um So, I just got a a call to check your your identification. >> She has it. >> She has identification? What's your name? >> Denise. >> Denise? Yeah? Okay. >> I mean, she has it. I mean, I don't know what you What do you mean? >> Okay. >> I don't know which one I want. I have two of them. Trying to get money together for, so >> Okay. >> That's all. >> You said [music] you're Denise? >> Yeah. What's wrong with it? I mean, is this what's going on? I have like all of my identification, like, you know what I'm saying? >> Okay. >> Um no, not Denise. I'm so sorry. Um like I just Wow. >> She put so much effort into pretending to be a Denise that she didn't realize she wasn't till the moment she pulled her real ID out of her wallet. When she was hit by the realization, she quickly tried to change the topic talking about the family member who'd supposedly died. >> I'm dealing with family member being lost. I mean, I don't understand. I was perfectly fine, see? >> Okay. >> Like >> [laughter] >> Okay, so you're saying that you were Denise, but it's actually Deborah? >> Yes, I'm sorry. You had me all discombobulated. I'm talking to my friend Denise on the phone. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you have any other forms of identification? >> She has it right there. That's all I have. I have I mean I have everything that you need. I don't get it. >> So, she has your like driver's license? [music] >> Yeah, she has it right there. >> Okay. What's your date of birth? >> It's I'm not >> It's just a question about your identification, okay? >> I know I know that you are and I understand that. >> I think you understand what I'm >> I I do now and I don't get it though. Like this >> Okay, so >> So, let me just start from the beginning. So, what's your last name? >> I just and I just told you. >> The officer here kept asking for more details. In law enforcement, it's a very common tactic because a lot of these fraudsters get quickly tangled up in their lies. Not only was her name not Denise, it wasn't Deborah either. >> And your middle name? >> What do you need my middle name for? I gave you everything. It's Lynn. >> Okay, so you having to check your phone for all that? >> No, I don't. I'm just having to I'm asking I don't understand where this is coming from. I come in here for my account to cash a check and I have all of my identification and [music] I don't don't get it. Like >> So, we're not 100% sure that you're who you're claiming to be. >> Well, I know. I mean well, obviously now. I mean shoot, [music] I've been trying to get all of this stuff together for this You know what I'm saying? So, yeah. I don't get it. >> Okay. >> Cuz I feel like I mean, this is craziness. >> Okay. Well, so you you understand that you can't be lying about your information. >> [music] >> I know. I know that. I just don't know what to do. I don't know what you guys want me to >> I just want you to [music] tell the truth as far as like who you actually are. >> Okay. >> Okay? >> Okay. >> She realized quickly she was in trouble and she wasn't going to lie her way out of it. When the officer explained that they already knew what was going on and gave her one more chance to come clean, she decided to tell the cops the truth. >> So, what's your actual name? >> My name is Stephanie. >> Stephanie? >> And I was asked So So, I did [snorts] cuz I'm I need money and I didn't realize it was like [music] this, so. >> Okay. >> what it is. Like, I don't know what else to say. >> Do you have your actual ID? >> I do have my actual ID. This is crazy. This is crazy. >> Okay. All right. If you don't mind just having a seat for me, ma'am. So, you said you were doing it because you needed money? >> I No, I went to eviction court today. I have 5 days to get out. I'm on housing and I'm trying to get my college and college license. >> Yes, ma'am. >> And I mean, I don't They told me to tell me I have 5 days to get out and I somebody came to me and I was like, "Yeah, I need money." And they were like, "Okay, well, I just need [music] you to do this." And I mean, I know it probably sounds stupid, but I have no power. I have no family here. You know what I'm saying? I needed money. >> The suspect here, Stephanie, said she was doing this for her four kids. Supposedly, someone approached her, gave her the stolen IDs, and told her what to do. She also claimed that she didn't even know what her cut would be out of the $4,500. >> Who was it given to you? >> Mhm. >> Who gave it to you? >> I can't tell you their names cuz I don't know them. >> You don't know them? [music] >> No, I just know a a name on a phone. That's all. I don't know anything what know what to say. Like, I can mess them on a dating site and it just conversation turned into [music] you know, cuz I was going through all of this and they were just like, "Well, I mean, [music] we just need you to cash a check." And I was like, "Okay." I didn't know the extent of it until, you know what I'm saying? Today or anything like that. So, I don't know [music] their I don't know like their name or nothing like that. >> Okay. So, they drove you here? >> [music] >> Yeah. >> What kind of vehicle was it? >> It was a blue BMW. >> A blue It wasn't the white one? >> Um I Yeah. >> Okay. Were you doing it Were you doing it for him or for you? >> [music] >> No, I was doing it for them. I was just going to get a little bit of I was just going to get some money. You know what I'm saying? Like I wasn't That wasn't for all That wasn't all for me. You Like I'm not like the mastermind or anything like that. >> She said she had no idea how these things worked and she only did it because she was pressed for cash and had no income coming in anytime soon. Therefore, when the opportunity presented itself, she felt like she really had to do it. The only information she could offer was the man's nickname. So what what was his name again? >> [music] >> I guess I don't know that. >> You don't You don't know his name? >> No, I know his zone and that's it. That's all my mom >> Zone? A white male? >> I've never met him, but who I came with was not white. >> Okay. >> No. >> So the person you came with was the one that gave you all the these credentials? Okay. >> Yes. >> Can you describe that person to me? >> Uh black. Short hair, gold teeth. I'll tell you anything you need to know now. Like okay, they got me these and they were my ear. You know what I'm saying? Like I said, I did not know the extent of it until today. I thought I was just going to go and cash the check and get some money from it. You know what I'm saying? But they went from that to You know what I'm saying? And everything like that. So >> Where are you from? >> I'm from Austin, Texas. >> From that moment, she opened up to the cops and she told them everything she could remember. She said two men were in the car, one Hispanic and one black, and that they drove her there in a white BMW. For some reason, she was under the impression she'd be getting out of this clean. >> Did I make a wrong decision? I most definitely did. [music] I mean but I tried to go through the courts and tell them I got my income taxes did it month. You know what I'm saying? Like my kids are my everything and I do everything for my kids. I needed money. >> Are you willing to uh talk to one of our detectives? >> I sure will. If I'm not going to cuz I'm not going to go to jail for this like at all. I again It wasn't [music] I It wasn't anything illegal from what they told me. You know what I'm saying? >> You seem pretty reasonable. Did you think that putting on a wig, using an ID that's not you, >> No. >> cashing a check that belongs to someone else >> No. No. That's what I'm saying once. All of this >> I'm just telling you like what what you did here. Did you think that that was illegal? >> Yes. Yeah. I did. I did. And but then I was It was like >> Could you go and stand up? Nothing concealed on your person at all? Anything like that? No? >> No. >> Nothing hidden? Nothing in >> No. I'm sorry. I just pulled my pants up. >> [laughter] >> They look tight. Any reason we should put you in handcuffs? >> No. >> While Stephanie was under the assumption that she couldn't get arrested, that wasn't the case. After talking to investigators, they charged the woman with a felony count of forgery. However, she cooperated with them and she avoided prison time due to a plea deal. Instead, she was fined $1,900 and was sentenced to 2 years of community service. On September 12th, 2024 in Superior City, an officer on patrol stumbled upon a female who matched the description of a felon with an active warrant. After seeing the officer, she snuck inside a bar and hid in the women's bathroom. Unfortunately for her, there was a female officer nearby. >> Good morning. Hello? Oh, sorry. Who's in there? Who's in there? Hi. Hi. Yeah, what's your name? Yeah, thank you for your concern. Yeah, we just got here to wave her in. Do you have any ID on you? No, can we I want to see if my boyfriend is here. His name is Chris. Yes, I do. I'm going there right now. Do you have an idea? I don't. What is going on, you guys? >> The thing is I don't believe that you're his brother. >> Like at all. I Okay, I Yeah, let's go there because I'm his girlfriend. Sorry. >> No, it's okay. >> The young woman had her story ready. She said she was looking for her boyfriend who worked at Izzy's Barbecue Lounge and Grill, which is a popular restaurant in Superior. Of course, the cops here didn't believe a word of it. >> This is his bike and I'm trying to bring him It's but Chris says he's at Izzy's and he has my bike. He's my boyfriend. My name is Heather. >> Heather, what's your last name? >> Sievers. What is going on, you guys? >> There's no Heather >> when I ran you. >> I Okay, can we call Izzy's right now and see if you're home? I know I they know me. I don't I help Chris. I work I don't work there they're not I help my boyfriend. He works there. Chris Robinson, can you call and ask? >> So, let me get give you a >> Call and ask because Chris Robinson is there waiting for you right now. >> We're going to get your information, Ronja, and then we'll get you out of here. Okay? It's as simple as that. >> Okay, but why am I being like questioned like this? >> What's your date of birth? >> Why are you doing this right now to us? >> Because you look like somebody >> Okay. >> You look like somebody that has a warrant. >> Okay. Oh. >> We'd be giving you a hard time if we didn't think you had a this or this person that a warrant. >> As they were trying to get the woman's ID, she procrastinated saying that her boyfriend had it. The cops here were getting more suspicious by the minute. Trying to hide her identity only made sense if she was hiding something. >> Why are you Why are you giving us a hard time about not giving us your information? >> Because I don't get why. >> So, what are you confused about? Like >> Why am I being detained? >> Okay, well here's the deal. If you aren't the person that we think you are, then there's not going to be any problem. So, that >> Okay, can we call and tell them that I'm tell Chris to come and get his bike or something or come here and >> also super weird that you won't like give us your date of birth or like >> Because I'm not in trouble. >> Okay, so let me explain this again. We believe you have a felony warrant for your arrest. We think you >> For what? No. >> you look like this person that has a warrant. >> Oh my god. >> We're asking you to provide your identification. Prove us wrong so we can let you go. What are you confused about? >> Okay, you call Izzy's and tell Chris to bring me my ID. >> called Izzy's. I said do you know Heather? >> and ask tell Chris Chris is there to tell him to bring my Robinson. >> Chris Robinson? >> Yes. And tell him to bring my ID. >> That being said, IDs have a date of birth on them, so there was no reason at all why she wouldn't tell her birthday to them right then and there. However, the cops still had a work around, so they asked for a different piece of information. >> We get her middle. >> What's your middle name? >> Oh my god, you guys. >> Okay, hey, you're not free to go at this time. Okay. >> Why? Okay, fine. >> We've explained this. >> Well, can we please call Chris then? >> What's your middle name? >> Marie. What is going on? Can we >> What are you confused about? I explained it like five times. We think you have a felony warrant. >> Why do you think this? >> You're saying you don't. We're trying to prove that so we can let you go. >> What felony for what? >> Felony >> For what? >> Possession of narcotics. >> No. >> Is one of them. >> No. That is not true. What did it say? No. What? What? No. Wait, no. My mom just died. No. >> Don't resist. [music] >> You want another charge? >> No. No. >> You stop. >> No. I can't have >> Stop. Resist. >> Please call him. This bike is going to get stolen. This bike is going to get stolen. >> Stop it. >> Why are you What happened? Why are you guys doing this? Okay, give me the handcuffs and then can you explain, please? >> The cops explained that their suspect had a probation warrant, which meant [music] she'd violated the terms of her probation. If it really was her, she'd be going straight to jail and most likely back to prison. As she was escorted to their squad car, they noticed she suddenly got very fidgety. >> Will you please Can you take this weight off my Why are you digging in >> I need corners. I want to see her. >> No, you're not going to dig around. >> Okay, fine. Yeah. >> No, I just You got her? >> Yeah. >> I don't need handcuffs. I'm not running anywhere. Can you take this off my head, please? It's like hurting. I'm sorry. Thank you. Ow, stop. >> There it is. >> But I don't have a felony warrant for narcotics. >> That was a lie, right? >> No. I don't have a felony warrant for narcotics. Right. >> But you still have a warrant, so >> Okay, yeah, but Can I please hit my vape? Can we call Chris because all my stuff like I got to call him. >> What do you think your father is going to think if you go to jail? >> No, no. >> Okay. >> Thank you. Can you So you called Chris? >> When they searched her, the cops found methamphetamine. Most likely, she wanted to get rid of it in the bathroom and then [music] changed her mind hoping the cops had left. On top of the woman's warrant, she was facing an additional charge. >> Can you call your ears? Oh my god. Please call Chris. >> Oh. Um I don't know that he's still here. >> Okay. >> Oh, Chris, my stuff is going to get stolen, please. Um did Chris Lee? Hang on. Let me see your sign. >> Yeah, thank you. >> Hello. >> Hey, is this Chris? >> Yeah. >> Hey, Heather I have Heather here. She's uh under arrest. She has a warrant. >> Chris. >> Oh my god. Oh my god, for real? >> So, listen your bike your bike is behind Third Base Bar. >> Okay. Okay, what happened? Can you just tell me what happened, officer? >> So, basically she just has a DOC warrant. So, I'm guessing she didn't check in with EMP or something like that. And she And she she had meth on her, too. >> Oh my god, are you kidding me? >> I'm sorry. >> On the way to the jailhouse, the woman started crying, begging the officer to call her boyfriend. So, he decided to do her a favor and finally called Chris to inform him where his bicycle was. He also allowed the two to have a short conversation. >> Chris. >> Yes. Yeah, I'm right here. >> Oh my god, you hate me. >> No, I don't hate you. Hey, we'll get this figured out, okay? >> Chris, how am I supposed to call you when I get there? >> I know, okay. I know. >> How am I supposed to call you? >> You know, put me on your visiting list. >> No, I don't know how to do this. How do I call you when I get there? >> I know, I will come see you at the jail, all right? >> Can you hear me? >> Yeah, he's going to come visit you, okay? >> Can you visit right away? >> Yes, I will. Yes. >> How am I going to like How do I call you with my free phone call? >> All right. >> I know, I know you will be able to call me once I get a I have a number that she can call me back. Can you write this number down for her? >> Chris. >> I I don't have anything on me that I can write down. So. >> Okay. So, she's going to She's going to the to the local jail right there? >> Yeah. >> I'm here now. I love you. >> So, by that point, she'd already stopped playing innocent and based on the tone of their conversation, she was feeling guilt and disappointment [music] that she'd failed to get out of her drug problem. Clearly, she was distraught about going to prison, and also about disappointing her boyfriend. [music] >> I'm sorry. I don't know how any of it works. I'm from Green Bay, so >> Okay. >> I'll get it He said I can get a visitor right after being searched and swabbed. >> Okay. Come on. Just >> [snorts] >> Okay. Um oh, yeah. Can we, please? >> Yep. I'll have my partner grab them, okay? >> Can you grab my cigarette and paper fell out? Wait, my money, too? >> Okay. Don't worry about it. >> What about my money? >> Okay. We'll have it in there. Let me stand up. And then I'll have you put your back against that silver square on the wall. >> I'm sorry. I just >> It's okay. Also, try to have someone reach out to you, okay? There's a program here that can help people that use drugs, okay? So, all those questions were They're used to kind of like gauge and help, okay? >> [laughter] >> The cops were very understanding about the woman's situation. Even though at first she tried to deceive them, once she was placed under arrest, she didn't insult the cops or resist. Hopefully, she gets the help she needs to deal with her addiction. On November 28th, 2024, a routine traffic stop took a very sharp turn when the officers discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen. They proceeded with caution, and they quickly [music] managed to detain the driver as well as his sister. >> Hey, driver, go ahead and put it in park. Turn the vehicle off. Take the keys out. Put them on the roof. Hello. >> Hello. >> Go ahead and hop out for me, all right? >> Yeah. >> Leave all your stuff in the car. >> Yep. My phone? >> Yep. >> Leave it in >> You can bring it. You can bring your phone if you need to. Step right back here. How do you know him? Let's step back here. >> Okay. So, the reason that you guys are getting pulled over is you're in a stolen vehicle. >> What? >> Uh the tag is reported from a stolen [music] vehicle. >> Wow. I don't know. He just bought that truck from a friend of his. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Can you grab your ID for me real quick? Thank you. And if you'll just go stand next to your brother. >> Here. >> In the officer's vehicle, he had a drug-detecting canine unit, and the dog was more than ready for some action. It didn't take him too long to indicate that there was something very suspicious in that stolen truck. >> Would y'all uh slide that way? I'm going to run my dog around. Come stand right here. Just so that uh we don't run you over. >> Lives. >> He smells drugs. >> Is there any reason why the dog alerted to the uh narcotics in the vehicle? >> No, I have no idea. There's nothing in there, though. >> Couple of cut straws with residue in them. >> There's like some pink something over there. >> What's this pink thing you used? >> What is that pink thing you used? >> Looks like rolled up piece of paper of some sort, but there might be something in that. >> Let me get you a little pipe. >> Yeah. >> I'm guessing, and Justin said that he's rolling for so long, she might have She might have dropped it. >> The male suspect was mostly silent, but denied having any drugs in the vehicle. The cop, however, was more suspicious of his sister. She'd been acting like she had nothing to do with any of it, but the officer didn't buy it. So, he turned to the female officer and he asked her to do a search. >> Okay. So, let me know what you want me to do. >> Would you mind searching her? Looks like it. All right. Real good. Like get up in there. >> Okay. >> What's your name? >> Jasmine. >> Okay. Did you crotch anything? >> No. >> If you go to jail and they find it in your body in the body scanner >> I know this. >> Okay. >> Yeah. I know this. >> Don't give me an attitude so I can I'm being respectful. I'm being straight up with you and I'm serious. >> say my brother asked me if I wanted to go ride to CR Dad for Thanksgiving. Okay. That's the first time I've ever even been in that truck. For one, I was sitting at home and my brother asked me to go see my dad and that's all we were going to do. >> You're in a stolen car. And a dog >> Stolen car. >> Okay. Can you let me finish and cut the attitude? >> Cuz I'm not giving you attitude. >> The officer tried to be direct, but still professional. He explained to the woman how the situation had progressed, hoping to motivate the woman to give the drugs up just in case she was hiding them. I'm treating you with respect and I'm telling you what's going to happen. And I'm giving you an opportunity to be honest and I don't know, maybe you are being honest, but this is what's going on. That's a stolen car and that dog hit on drugs. >> Okay. >> Okay. The dress you're wearing and how long it took for you for him to finally get back up to stop you guys, it is possible that you either put it in your bra or in your or in your butt. >> Who? What? >> Drugs. >> Why would I do that? >> To not get arrested for it. So, cut the attitude, okay? >> that's just that's great. >> She's searching you and I'm giving you a chance, okay? Do you understand? Okay, so turn around. She's going to search you and put your hands up there. >> You want me to take my jacket off? Do you have anything on you that you shouldn't? No. >> I don't want to hurt you or anything, just bracelet. >> Yeah. What is that? >> It's a tampon. >> The female officer didn't have to search for too long to find something out of place. If the officer was a male, the tampon lie just might have worked. However, the female officer knew [music] what a tampon would feel like to the touch. And what she felt was clearly something different. >> Wait, what are you doing? >> No, why is it why is it >> I'm just saying why you're rubbing on me. >> I'm wearing a tampon like that. >> Okay, I mean, yes I do. Don't worry about a tampon. >> Okay. >> Put your hand behind your back. >> So, what do you think it is? It's not a tampon. >> Okay. This is the same thing I'm going to warn you with again. >> Yes, I know. >> We have a literal body scanner. >> Yes, I know. Yes, I know. >> Mhm. >> I know. I know. >> Can you grab it? >> Sure. >> If you're >> [music] >> If you're comfortable >> Grab it what? >> Spread your feet. >> Spread your feet. >> What are you grabbing? >> Lady, I'm >> Whatever you're putting in your What is What are you talking >> Listen to me. I'm going to warn >> Hey, I mean, that's the I didn't know y'all were allowed to do that. >> Stop moving. >> I didn't know y'all were allowed to do that. >> Stop moving. >> I'm not moving, sir. But who said you're allowed to [ __ ] do that? YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO DO GRAB MY [ __ ] VAGINA. >> Spread your legs, and I told you exactly before she came over. >> Then take me to the jail and then do the run the scan then. I know what I got. >> Your legs. >> You're not allowed to do that. >> Spread your >> You're not allowed to do that. You're not allowed to do that. >> Chastity was right. According to Florida statute 901.211, body cavity searches must be performed in sanitary conditions. Therefore, the cops tried out some subtle persuasion tactics trying to get the woman to do it herself. >> Who's in the stolen car with drugs? She's a passenger in there. >> There's paraphernalia in my brother's bag. Paraphernalia in my bag. What? There is no paraphernalia in my bag. >> There is. >> What? >> Two cut straws with residue. >> Who Two >> And there's also a bag of weed right next to your seat. >> No, I do But, I I do some boxing. I go to the Lake Mead Center. I do Suboxone and I snort it. >> Okay. >> So, that's what that is. You can test it. >> Okay. >> I didn't have no weed. >> Okay. Well, it's literally under your seat. >> Under my seat? Okay. Whatever. >> So, let me explain something to you. I just want you to just listen. >> Okay. >> All right? I've been doing this 12 years. >> Okay. You You're not >> No. No. No. No. No. No. You're You're already No. No. No. No. No. You're already You're already not listening to me. >> Mhm. >> So, when people start off very nice like you were with me and then go from very nice to very not nice, it's usually because they're hiding something. And it could be what's in your vagina. We will find out cuz we're going to take you to jail and scan your >> Okay. >> body and then they're going to do a strip search. >> Okay. >> Okay? Or you can dispel our suspicions that you have something concealed. >> Yeah. I will. >> By removing it. >> Yeah. >> Or having this deputy remove it in private. >> Yeah. >> You fine to do that? >> Yeah. >> Wonderful. >> Once she finally realized the cops would never let her walk away free, she agreed to take the item out herself. The moment the officer felt something hidden in her person, there was no point to hide it anymore. So, why didn't the woman just admit it right away? >> I'll let her do it. I'm holding you. I'm not touching you. Pull your hands away from your butt. >> No, here it is right here. Here you go. Thank you. >> So, why did you lie to me? I could not have been any nicer to you and I said that's what you did. >> Because I didn't It was a damn pipe. I don't have anything else. I mean, >> What is it? Is that the tampon? >> This You want the tampon? >> Okay. >> How about that? >> Amazing. >> Okay. >> Now, you're definitely going to jail. >> Amazing. >> So, now you go for every charge we can find on you since you want to lie. So, there could be more up there. The last time I got a one of those out of someone's vagina, she had her meth up her butt hole. So, we're definitely going to put you on the scanner. >> Yeah. >> So, you're under arrest now. >> All right. Well, I got >> And we could have worked with you if you were honest and that's why I try and tell people that. >> I know. >> So, why didn't you just do it? I literally came up to you from common pool. >> Same difficult as killing truth. >> What's your name? >> Why didn't I just say the [ __ ] out of that god damn town? >> What's your name? What's your name? >> You know my name. >> I don't know your name. I'm telling you I'm not bullshitting your name. Let's walk to my car. Come on. Slow down. >> In a stressful situation, people react very differently. This woman reacted by doing the wrong thing, hoping she could hide the incriminating evidence, and then lie about it to the police. Thankfully for Chastity, the cop didn't hold it against her. >> Would you mind testing that for me? Be careful. That was inside her. Hey, would you test this for >> Uh I'm really busy right >> Yeah, I would have done it, man, but I already took my gloves OFF. >> I'M KIDDING. >> [laughter] >> SHE WAS UNIT 163. >> I believe that's meth. >> Wonderful. >> It was under her seat. This was in her possession and the makeup bags in her backpack. >> Okay. Better. I'll just close it out. >> Is that good enough for you? >> Oh, yeah. Perfect. You go ahead and run her to the jail. I'm going to issue his citations and cut him loose. Yeah, she He's getting cut loose with citations cuz that's all I got on him. Basically, she's got the paraphernalia and attempted to conceal. >> Who was that? >> So, he was. You got All right, Mr. Ricky, look, go ahead and hop out. We'll get the handcuffs off of you. >> While her brother was immediately released, Chastity was taken to jail and charged with resisting without violence and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was sentenced to 60 days in the county jail. In September of 2025, when a man went to a local dentist for a root canal, he'd already paid $1,300 up front, [music] but the dentist stopped the procedure halfway through, said she couldn't finish, and refused to refund the man. His complaint to the police sparked a 4-month investigation, which concluded on the 19th of February, 2026, with an arrest warrant. >> Police department, search warrant. Police department, search warrant. >> 14, 15. >> Just give me the uh slides. >> Hey. >> Hey, hey, on the ground. >> On the ground. >> Do not move. >> Don't move. Hands up. Hands up. Hands up. >> Who else is back there with you? >> Okay. Manos arriba. Vamos a ver. Hold on. Hold on. We're watching. We're watching. >> Is there anybody >> Okay. >> Come out two minutes. >> Okay. Hold on. Hold on. We're going to clear it out. Daniel, you want to stay with her real quick? >> It's all right. Relax. Relax. Relax. Relax. Take a breath. Take a breath. Take a breath. You're okay. You're okay. >> When the officers got there, the main suspect, Anna, was nowhere to be found. The only people there were two women running a nail salon in the [music] same unit. They explained to the officers that Anna was their employer and provided her phone number and her address. >> Hello. Buenas tardes. >> Yes. >> Good afternoon. This is Detective Molina with South River Police Department. Is this Anna Amato? >> Yes. >> All right. Hi, Anna. We're in your business right now. Uh there's an invest- there's an active investigation. We have a search warrant. Are you able to come in? >> Well, I'm not in. >> Okay. We need you to We need you to come in. >> How long will it be? >> Okay. How How far are you? >> I am in Old Bridge. >> Okay. >> I'm with my kid. He got flu. >> Okay. So, I need you to come in and then where we can discuss this further here, okay? >> Oh my god. How long should I be there? >> Right now. Okay. >> Can I meet you? >> No. >> I cannot go right now. >> You have to come right now, okay? There's a search warrant that's been issued by a judge, okay? And we need to come here and and and talk with you, all right? >> But I [snorts] cannot go now. Oh, I have a kid. >> Okay. I will tell you Listen, I'm going to be very straight with you. We have charges against you, okay? So, we could do this We could do this the right way. You can come in, okay? Or there there is going to be a warrant issued for your arrest. So, this is not a joking matter. We need you to come in now, okay? I have two of your employees here. I have two of your employees here detained, okay? And in in order for us to to clear things up, we need to speak with you. >> The officer mentioned her employees, but the suspect claimed she didn't have any. Once the officer threatened her, she said she'd come later, but obviously that that wasn't an option. >> I'll be there around 4:30. >> No, that doesn't work, ma'am. You you you come now, okay? Or I'll have Old Bridge go to your house and then place you under arrest. However you want this to work out. >> No, my my child here. Oh, how are we going to Let me I'll call you right back. >> Okay, listen listen to me. I'm going to explain something to you, all right? I'm in here I'm in your business. I have two of your employees detained. I have charges for your arrest, okay? >> But I don't >> But listen to Let me finish. I can have Old Bridge go to your house, place you under arrest in front of your kid, or you can come here and we can speak. How do you want to handle this? >> I'm just going to look for somebody to deal with my child. I don't know what's going [snorts] on. I don't have any toys. >> Come in and then we'll talk further. If not, I'm going to call you back in 5 minutes. If not, I'm going to send Old Bridge out to your house. Do you understand? >> Okay. >> Okay, I will call you back. >> Anastasia true to her word and arrived at the office just a little after 3:00. She was handcuffed and taken to the office and before the officer Detective Molina could question her, he read the woman her Miranda rights. >> You want her back in there? Hold on one second. Hold on a moment, okay? >> What happened here? >> Do you have your license on you? >> Just want to make sure. >> No, no, she's a >> It's in a >> Oh my god. >> Do you have your license with you? >> My driver's license? >> Yeah. I'm going to talk to her I'm going to talk to her real quick. Don't worry about >> Is your pocketbook? >> Yes, your pocketbook. You want to stay out here for now? >> Yep, just stay out there. >> All right, listen. My name is Detective Molina. I work for the South Bureau Police Department. Uh before we talk any further, I want to read you what your Miranda rights are, okay? We do have a search warrant, okay? And then there are charges, all right? Therefore, I need to advise you what your rights are. I'm not here to violate your rights. I'm here to be very transparent with you, okay? But I will help you with that in a minute, okay? I will help you with that in a minute. But let me read this out loud to you, okay? And then you tell me yes or no whether you understand, okay? If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me. A victim came in and and said that he had come here and had done some dentistry procedure. Why don't you first tell me about that? What is your business here? >> Well, I work here, Ben. >> Mhm. >> It's being a lot of offices in the middle section. >> Okay. >> Sometimes, yes, the people come here and ask me for help. >> Okay. >> I do take x-rays, I do take impressions [snorts] sometimes, and I do send them, if they have insurance, to other places. >> Anna had a terrific cover story. She explained to the officer what kind of services she provided, while hiding the fact that she actually did real dental work. The detective let her finish, and then explained to her the full scope of the investigation. >> I want to give you the opportunity to be to be honest with me, okay? Because I I'm not here just out of nowhere. I didn't just randomly come to your business. I didn't just randomly get charges against you by a judge. [music] >> No, no, no. >> Okay? I did my investigation, and I have probable cause to issue these charges. So, let's start again, okay? I already spoke with one of your victims, okay? Who said that he came here and got a procedure started, right? That you gave him a local anesthetic [music] and started getting worked on his tooth, okay? So, how So, how about you tell me what happened happened then? >> No, I cannot give honest answers, to be honest. I don't have the license for that. >> You also don't have the license to operate where you're operating in the back. You don't have a >> That's not That's not part of the training. I do use everything there to help you. >> It was a pretty good cover story, but not good enough. She already admitted to giving anesthetics to people who had come to her in severe pain, and she also admitted to having needles and other dental equipment, because she knew the cops would find it anyway. However, the detective knew that wasn't all. >> Let me explain something to you. I'll tell you why. This is a very lucrative business you have here. I I I give you much credit for what you're doing. I actually think this is This is This is outstanding, right? You're charging 750 a month for this room. You're That's money right there. You're making good money. >> Oh. >> How much do you charge for the back? For the lady that does the extractions? Or do you own it? Or do you run What do you do back there? >> [clears throat] >> No. The lady who did the extraction, she doesn't work here. No. >> When was the last time she was here? >> She was here during this summer. >> Last summer? >> She doesn't attend here. She goes to a salon. >> Now, let me ask you a question. The lady that did the extraction was here last summer. Why are they still going to find needles and anesthesia in the back? >> Because that the one came here last >> So, now there's another lady? >> No, no, no, but she didn't She didn't do extraction. >> What did she do? >> She was here doing a clean for a boy for free, I think. For free, I think. No, the mother gave $50 to him. >> Okay. How do they pay? >> Every time the detective asked about something, she would start backtracking, then admit it, then try to downplay the whole thing. She said people usually paid in cash, and if she had decided to do it, it would have been a very lucrative business. >> But honestly, you are totally right. It's a very lucrative lucrative business. >> Could be very. And I'm being very honest with you. When I opened this clinic, it was definitely not to see anybody. And I I'm very honest with you. And I could make this like an illegal clinic. Yes. >> Mhm. >> I leave everybody It's Everybody near here knows what I do. Yes, you're right. I do cleaning. Yes. I try to keep I take X-rays. Yes. Being very Extract tooth? No, >> [clears throat] >> I'm not allowed. >> But I know you're not I know you're not allowed, but it's been done here. >> Correct. >> I know it's been done here. >> It is. >> I know root canals have been done here. Or at least at least at least initiated. >> But the the that means not the root canal, but that means if the patient do the root canal, I will do this temporary filling. That is correct. >> Okay. Look, I appreciate your honesty. >> But I want to tell you everything because if I have to pay for something, let's do it. >> Oh, listen, that's not how it works. >> Detective Molina explained the charges to her, which were unlawful dentistry and second-degree aggravated assault for giving the man in and drilling into his tooth without a license. She was taken aback by the charges, then tried to deny them, then finally confessed. >> So, you're telling me that that work does get done here? >> No, no, no. Probably probably to do the temporary filling. That is correct. No, that is correct. >> Okay, let's talk about that process. To do a temporary filling, do you or do you not inject someone's gum? >> No. >> What do you do? >> It's a spray. >> Okay. >> It's in there. >> Now, what do you do next? >> Well, and then I have to clean And then I place a temporary filling, otherwise they're going to be excruciating. >> No, exactly. Now, about the tooth, what do you do with the tooth to put that filling in? Do you not have to drill? >> Sometimes no, sometimes yes. >> Sometimes yes. >> Okay, so listen to [music] me. >> That's true. >> It's been done. Okay, so so what I want to agree on is that that work has been done in this office. >> That's true. >> Okay, that's all I'm saying. I'm not saying that every person does it. I'm just saying that it has been done here. >> Yes. >> Okay, and I happen to speak with one of those victims, and then that's why I'm here. >> All right, but injection no, it's spray. Yes. >> Well, but there is Who does the back here? >> Dr. Guzman, but yes, yes. >> Well, if you Yes. >> Okay. >> Look, to the more honest you are with me, the better that we can continue our relationship. Okay? >> Let's do this. >> Okay. >> The officer grilled the woman because he had evidence she'd been using expired medication, which she denied. They arrested Anna, and she was charged with aggravated assault, third degree, unlawful practice of dentistry, and financial facilitation of criminal activity in the third degree. On the 13th of March, 2025, the cops got two reports of a single crash. A man claimed someone had crashed into him and fled, and a woman said a man in a truck was chasing her. The cops headed to the locations and tried to get to the bottom of things. >> I was actually here when he cut in. I hammered the brakes, went back up on the curb. So, he goes like that, like that. My lumber goes flying over there. He goes to the left around the gas station, goes back on the road, wastes your time, cuts out to the right, goes down two streets, which is David Biddle Williams out by my buddy's. Goes down there, goes around the block. coming back out the 590 goes back to 90 heads northbound. Gets off on 20 side does a U-turn coming all the way back. I mean he was just stopped there half of time I was looking right at the guy. >> They called in as well they're wondering why they're being chased by a truck. >> Yeah cuz he cut me off and he hit my >> There's very very quite they never had but that's why I want to see the other truck. All right so let me let me do some uh get the telephone number of the other party see where they're where they live and where they're at. Yeah it's craziness. Yeah people are really [snorts] into this these days. >> The cop knew exactly where to find the second driver who turned out to be a young woman and after hearing what the man was saying she immediately got irate. >> He's saying [music] he was here and you did a little cut in front of him. >> Well I came out of I came out of Advance Auto Parts um what whatchamacallit and then I came back into the gas station. So I was literally making like a U-turn into the gas [music] station. And he was in the far lane right here and the light was red. So I did that's what I was like. >> Yeah it's it's crazy nonsense. All right so he's saying this side of the car is what struck his car. I don't see where this side of the >> I hit his car? >> That's what he's saying. >> I was behind he was behind me. >> But >> No man let me get his insurance information that's crazy. >> cuz >> Cuz I even went to go talk to him and it's on camera. >> Yeah so it's on whose camera? >> It's on the camera up there I just went to go talk to him. I know the people up there. >> what you said at the gas station at the gas station. All right. >> The woman wasn't even sure there'd been a crash. All she really knew was that a guy in a truck had been chasing her. She got scared and tried to run but then her car caught the officer's eye. >> There's no damage on this side of your car. He's saying that you >> No he definitely hit me. I just talked to him. >> 290 here. >> And it's on camera. >> Okay, go ahead. >> Okay, so >> [music] >> it's on camera. So cuz he did say you did pull into the gas station. I mean he bounced out the other side and then he was like, "What?" And >> Well, because he was still following me. I thought he was going to stop. >> Let me run up there and take a look at that video and see what the video shows and then we'll go from there. We'll get this on video. >> [laughter] >> All right, so tell me. She came in reviewed the video with you? >> No, she didn't. It was just me. >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah, so those two lanes are like here. >> Okay, but but How do you know she went into the other lane? >> I mean I see it's on the camera right now. >> Oh, okay. >> She turned into the >> Okay. >> No, the two of them are like this. It looks like you turned into his lane. She said she came out of where you went to the other lane and came back in. You can't You can't do that. >> You can't do that, boss. You can't go out to that lane and come back in. >> It's your fault all day long, you know. >> She's going to be a happy camper. >> After reviewing the surveillance footage and getting a statement, the cop was clear on what had happened. The problem was he had to tell the female driver that and it was clear already how the woman would react. >> Yeah, how you doing? >> Good. >> Whose vehicle is that? Is that your boss? >> Yes. >> Okay, is she in here, too? >> No, she's not. >> Okay, I looked at the video. >> Uh-huh. >> It's not It's not benefiting you. >> Why not? He hit me from behind if he hit me. >> Ma'am you're in the other lane, you crossed in front of him, okay? So you can't do that. >> Uh-huh. >> what I need is your license and insurance to the vehicle. >> From him hitting me from behind. >> I need your information. Now, you left the scene of a crash. We're not going to go down this leaving the scene of a crash. >> Are you being serious right now? >> Okay, give me a second. Thank >> Okay, if you >> I'm going to shut this door. I have somebody in here. >> I I need >> Okay, yeah. >> Yeah. >> Give him my the insurance information. >> Yeah. >> Um because he's saying that oh, he if if if anything he hit me from behind, right?" >> The officer tried to explain to the woman that when a traffic accident happens, everybody provides their information regardless of who's at fault. However, she refused to provide her ID, feeling she was wrongfully accused, and things got heated pretty fast. Unfortunately, it is your fault. You can't leave one lane and cut in front of somebody, ma'am. >> It's not my fault. >> No, no, when you cut in front of somebody, you want to see the video? >> I do want to see it. >> Okay, I'll bring it up for you. Come here, watch. Watch. >> You didn't hit me from behind, man. >> if your mom comes home, she can watch it and she'll be like, "Oh my god." You pull out. You cross over into the other far lane. He comes up along the side of you. You cut in front of him. There you are. >> the back of me. I DIDN'T EVEN HIT HIM. What are you talking about? >> lane. >> Where Where is the crash at? >> Ma'am, you left the lane. >> Where's the crash at? >> show you. >> Where Where did he get hit at? Where did he get hit at? >> You'll see. He's got damage on the front of his car. >> No, he does You're >> I told you that damage here matches up >> Bro, look at this. Look at the video. Look. Look. Look, he would have hit me from THE BACK, BRO. ARE YOU SERIOUS? Are you serious? Are you serious? >> Mom, listen >> Tell her to come home. Yep. All right. You're going to end up going to jail. >> Despite the officer's warnings, the suspect, Diana, stormed off, got her kids in the car, and began driving away. Then she stopped in her driveway, got out of the car, yelled at the cops some more, and then drove off shouting into the phone. >> I'm trying to make it simple for you, ma'am. I'm trying to make it SIMPLE FOR YOU. I'M TRYING to make it easy for you. Okay. Yep. Trying to make it easy, ma'am. You're the one making it. You're the one VIDEOS DON'T LIE. VIDEOS DON'T LIE. NO, MA'AM. DON'T MAKE THIS MORE THAN IT NEEDS TO BE. >> YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I BEEN >> DON'T MAKE IT MORE THAN IT NEEDS TO BE. >> YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I'VE BEEN THROUGH. >> OKAY, JUST HAVE YOUR MOM COME OVER. Come on over. She'll She'll see the video. >> It's going to be like that. You're crazy. Talking about you're THE POLICE. YOU OUT HERE NOT PROTECTING AND SERVING. >> YEP. >> YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON. >> YEP. >> THAT MAN IS SAYING HE HIT ME. >> NO, that man said you hit him. >> No, you That's >> Okay. >> TO THE MAN AT THE GAS STATION. >> The man at the gas station even says the video shows you hit him. >> No, you go look at the video. That's what it says. >> All right, go get your children. Come on back. Go get your children. Come on back. >> About 15 minutes later, she came back to the house, calm and collected. The officer tried to start things over in a friendly tone. But the moment they started talking, things went sideways, and this time it was even worse than before. And on top of that, she wasn't the only one in the family who'd be getting a charge. >> Deonna, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> All right. Here, hold on. I'm going to put you on speaker. >> You put on speaker. Okay, there's my There's the corporal over there. He looked at the videos well. He's got the same conclusion I came to. Videos don't lie. >> You Let me tell Let me start this. You called me and said that THE MAN HIT MY CAR. >> told you >> You called me and said that the man hit my car. >> hit him. >> That's not what you said. You're lying. He's lying. >> it doesn't matter. So, do you got your ID? >> if you're lying or not. >> Okay. You got your ID. Videos don't lie, ma'am. Ma'am, if you walk away, I'm going to arrest you. So, come over here and deal with this. No, I'm talking to you. You're 34-year-old lady. >> lying. >> It doesn't matter. You want TO GO TO >> YOU'RE LYING. >> IT'S A SIMPLE CRASH. Don't turn it into more than what IT IS. >> YOU ARE. I I DIDN'T EVEN DO ANYTHING. >> You did. >> Miss. I'm calm, but this is not going to get turned around on me. I I can't be scared of a white man in in America because I've been shot, man. Like, and then he comes and he tries to turn this around on me like it's my fault, bro. >> Miss. >> Are you serious right now? I've never been in trouble in my life. You want to arrest me in front of my kids because of something that he said? Like, listen to the call that he called me and said. Please, it does matter. >> It does matter. >> Yes. Can you hear what I'm saying, though? >> Oh my god. I will fight this in court cuz this is ridiculous. >> so that's ma'am. What is your name and information? >> know my name. >> It's so funny. >> You know my name. >> All right, let's let's go. Let's go. >> That's how you treat me. >> Put your body in. >> WHY? NOW YOU'RE ARRESTING ME. >> WOAH. WOAH. WOAH. WOAH. GET >> GET OFF MY MOM, BRO. GET OFF MY MOM, BRO. Get off my mom. GET OFF MY MOM, BRO. GET OFF MY MOM. >> HEARING HIS mother shouting and screaming, her 16-year-old son came running toward the officers, but he was quickly detained. Diana was charged with resisting without violence and leaving the scene of a crash. Even worse, the woman's son, a promising young athlete, wound up [music] in jail for defending her. The son was charged with battery on law enforcement. On May 23rd, 2025, the cops responded to a trespassing report at a private residence, and it seemed pretty straightforward. The cops seemed very relaxed and even joked around a bit, expecting it all to be routine. >> Ooh. Cuz you can see it's still looking like a window. >> That's all right. >> Mhm. >> Where's your phone? >> Make sure he's cuffed out of here. >> I don't got a flashlight on. >> There's nothing in here. There's nothing in here. >> Is it leaking? >> It's not leaking, but it has a bunch of stuff in there. >> You going around that way? >> Yeah, we're going to try that one. Take it. Hello. Good, how are you? You live here? Who, yours? Where she at? >> Y'all don't live here. Y'all can't be here. And what are you doing here? >> On the back porch of the house, they found a man and a woman lying on a mattress. The man claimed he was cleaning the house for the owner, but didn't know the owner's name. The cops immediately knew something was wrong here, but they still wanted to check in with the neighbor at 203. >> She's not answering the door. >> You say also B? >> So you don't have an ID? Okay. Well, listen, somebody called about y'all coming over here. And y'all don't live here. I don't know why they're here. Okay. Well, listen, I don't know. What's your first name? And what's your name? So I can't get your name? What's your last name, Justice? >> The male suspect, Michael, didn't seem bothered by the cops' presence, but the female, Justice, seemed very agitated, although she was pretty quiet. While the female officer was trying to [music] get more information out of them, a woman opened the door at apartment 203B. >> Man, >> how are you? Do you own this house? >> I do. It's okay. >> Do you know who these people are? >> Uh yeah. >> Do you live here? These people? >> Michael. >> First last name and date of birth, please. Have a seat. Okay. Who lives here? >> Uh the owner is uh >> Huh? >> The owner is right there right now. >> But is a mayor that lives here? >> Yeah, the mayor does. He owns it. >> Owns it, but nobody lives here? >> No, he doesn't live here. We live here. >> So hey, officer. >> He's not home right >> Okay, so you So you guys are like who's caring for this property right here? Dude, hold on. >> No. >> Seeing the neighbor come out made Michael a little anxious, [music] but he didn't do anything dumb. Because the neighbor might be afraid of the suspects, the officer moved in closer for a more private conversation. [music] >> Going on? >> I'm just trying to figure out who these people are. >> Oh, is that Michael? >> I'm trying to go over there just to call call this one in. >> They're walking back and forth at the front of the house. >> Okay, they're saying that they got permission of whoever lives here to to be hanging out under their car like here. >> Not that I know. >> Okay. >> He's kind of He's kind of iffy about that. >> Okay. >> So I'm going to >> Would you know how to you know if anything? >> I do know how to contact him if anything. I was wondering >> Who lives here? >> She's here. >> Hello. >> Hi ma'am, are you okay? >> Hello. >> Okay. You don't you don't know the people who live here, do you? >> I was wondering what was going on with the neighbors. >> They're there. >> Yeah. >> I'm camera in the window and I was watching them walk back and forth. >> Okay, this gentleman out here is saying that you gave him permission to be here. >> What? >> This gentleman who's hanging out over here said that for some reason you would be able to give him permission to stay here even though you don't live here, which is very odd. But it seems like you guys have no idea what's going on, which I didn't expect you guys to. It's fine. Thank you so much. If we need anything from I appreciate you. >> Once the cops had called their bluff, the couple had no way out. They'd been called trespassing and they had to be removed from the property, but it was not going to be as easy as it looked. >> Stand up, Justin. Stand up. You got a crack pipe on you, Justin. Stand up. >> Don't stop, Justin. >> Justin, put your hands behind your back. Do not resist, Justin. >> Justin. >> Justin. >> Grab him. >> What you doing? >> Justin. >> He hit me with a >> Justin. >> Stand up. He hit me with a I let him on you. I let him You popping my thing. What's up with you? They know like be so no time soon. What you doing something like that? Ma'am. >> Someone help me here. Just grab him, Barbara. >> You feel good? >> You need to stand right here. >> I feel good. Hello. So It's mine. This That's my bag. Smart. Stand up. Get him down. Stand up. >> Even Michael was surprised that Justice was fighting the cops. It just didn't make sense because they were just going to be trespassed and let go. However, the reason Justice was fighting soon became apparent. >> She had a crack pipe in her hand and put it in her pocket. I'm just going to say you This is right now. You know you in trouble till you detain. I hear you, but we're trying to focus on her. >> All right, can you relax him? >> You don't want me talking? I'll be quiet. Say Can you quiet down? >> Are you going to Are you going to get up now? >> Give me a second, ma'am. Okay. That's all we were worried about. >> All right, ready? >> Yeah, okay. >> [snorts] >> Don't up my bra either. Stop kicking me in the water. >> The cops had to work for it, but they quickly got the woman detained. Even so, as she was being taken to the squad car, she continued to resist them and berate them. She even tried several times to kick the female officer. >> You're good. >> You straight? >> You can't hold me. >> You going to catch a charge if you kick >> I got her. >> Go ahead. >> This one This one is bothering me so Oh, my gosh, she got a crap pie and you know what happened to that too. And you know what happened to that too. Take your Stop touching my pockets. Stop taking my pockets. >> Listen. >> All right, listen. We're not going to play this game. >> Stop. Stop touching me. >> First of all, why is you holding the pipe in your hands and touching me and checking me? >> Your pipe is in there? >> Yeah, and I bleed on time. I don't want you. Stay in there. Stay there. My pipe. My pipe. >> in the back of the car. >> Up your bra. What? >> Stop. >> You don't know my name. >> Stop touching me. >> Can I have >> What you can have? >> While Michael was detained without issue, Justice kept resisting and then collapsed in the car. She was taken to the hospital to get checked out, was later charged with battery on law enforcement, resisting without violence, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sadly, before Justice had her day in court, she passed away from unknown causes. These porch thieves have really become a menace, but what about someone who steals the entire neighborhood's mail? After multiple reports of a woman going through their mailboxes and stuffing letters into a large bag, the cops tracked the woman down to a nearby Dollar Tree. >> Hey, I'm good. How are you? >> Sergeant Barrett, the police department. You need to come with us. >> For what? >> Cuz you're detained for lawful investigation. >> Okay. What am I being detained for? If you don't mind me asking. >> We're going to go ahead and discuss that. >> A lawful criminal investigation. That's all you need to know right now, okay? So, you're not free to go. >> Okay. >> Come out with us. All right. We're going to go ahead and discuss that. Don't worry about it. >> Okay, can I call my um >> No. Nope. You said you dropped stuff in here? >> Um it was the pull of pepper kind of goes right over here. I got to call from here. >> All right. Okay. >> Is that candy from here or not? >> That's from here. It's all right. >> What store were you in? >> Most likely, she'd seen the cops moving in on her because she snuck into the bathroom and dumped all the mail into a trash can. The cops found it right away and read the woman her rights. >> We've got a 10-12. Got her out of the bathroom. Told her to take her stuff off and detain. Went into the bathroom. There's all the mail with the addresses in the trash can in here. Yeah, I'll I'll grab her stuff real quick and we'll go outside. We'll chit-chat, okay? What was your name, miss? >> Carrie Miller. >> Okay. Miss Miller, we're going to go outside and chit-chat for a moment. This is all your stuff, right? >> Yes, sir. >> It's all right. All right, well Miss Miller, I'm going to cut right to the chase, okay? I'm going to give you the one chance to be honest cuz we all know why we're here right now, okay? So, what in the world would compel you to steal all that mail today? You're running around here looking like freaking Santa Claus. >> Um I did not have that bag to begin with when that woman stopped me. >> Okay. >> Um I was actually holding onto it for a friend cuz he was actually going up the road >> Okay. >> and doing it. Um >> Who's your friend? >> Who's my friend? >> Yeah. >> Um her name is Rachel. >> Rachel? Rachel, I don't know anybody named Rachel. What's her last name? >> I don't know. She's redhead. She tricks. >> She tricks? >> Yeah. >> Goodness gracious. >> Yeah. >> The suspect, Carrie Miller, had a nice cover story about a red-headed friend Rachel who supposedly got her involved in stealing mail. Unfortunately for Carrie, the witness statements and physical evidence refuted it. >> So, you left there, right? And 15 minutes later, some other guy called and said that you were at hit their house. >> So, I stopped at the house. I can show you the house. It's right here. To take my hoodie and everything off. >> All right, but what happened on the street when you left that lady? >> That lady called >> called from the house. Well, see, the the problem with that is, Miss Miller, is that you're here all by yourself and guess what? All this discarded property in the trash that we're allowed to go through >> Yes, sir. >> is all the addresses [music] that we were just at. >> Yes, sir. >> So, this is mail from all that stuff. All them places. >> out of the bag that was all this like I had all these packages on me. >> Yeah. >> So Yeah, can you go to my mom's house and get my phone? Where on 8th Street? >> On State Ave. >> State Ave? Hey Laura, you got a Mountain Dew you want it? >> While looking through the mail, it suddenly dawned on the officer that drugs might be involved and that he wasn't wearing any protection. After getting some gloves out of his partner's car, he continued going through the mail looking for evidence. >> So, you guys got paid to to go get it? >> I don't >> I know what this is. >> I don't know what it >> I know what it is. Hey Miss Miller, have a seat with me. In a second. Yeah, have a seat and I'll get you a sip of Mountain Dew. >> Can I have a cigarette before I go to jail? >> We'll let you have a cigarette. Here, I'll help you now. >> Thank you. Um I don't know how to use this. This is my lighter. >> There you go. Crisscross applesauce. Perfect. >> Um >> Actually, you know what Miss Miller? Let me have you stand up real quick and then we'll sit you back down. I apologize for the inconvenience. >> Um I have a lot of mail here from here. >> I need to take your sunglasses off just for a second. I know it's bright out here, but well, not quite yet. >> As far as Kerry Wynn, she was trying to blame the whole thing on others, but the cops reminded her of the fact that she was the only one the witnesses had seen. The stolen mail contained a lot of credit card info and most likely it was part of a larger scam involving theft of ID. So, the cops of course wanted to know more about it and pretty soon she confirmed to them that it was all about credit cards. [music] >> So, how much were you going to get paid for this stuff? >> Um I was supposed to get paid $200. >> And then Rachel the same or she get more? >> I don't know. I do know that the the house up there had got raided here recently. >> Why is some of it thrown away and some of it's not thrown away? >> Um >> That's >> Um I mean like it's one of two. >> We have post-Miranda confession, so. I felt it. >> Yeah. >> And to see if there was any cards in it and then the >> So yeah, I noticed all these are the cards. >> Slowly but surely, the cops were getting the right answers. When it comes to mail theft, it's usually related to identity theft and financial [music] fraud. Criminals get possession of the owner's debit or credit cards, as well as their personal information, and then [music] use them to steal money. Carrie told the cops that it was her first time doing something like this. >> I believe you that you were paid to do it. Okay, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt there. The only problem is is that all the surveillance footage that we obtained in the last hour from all these areas only show you, Ms. Miller. They don't show any other redhead or anybody else with you. >> Actually, there was also a woman down the road and getting I got the bag from her before I even got down that road. Before I even started going down that they told me after her. >> Ouch. >> I should have seen you with a guy named Duke. >> Duke? >> Yes, sir. That's >> I thought my glasses and my my Mountain Dew was in there. >> Yeah, you can put your sunglasses back on. >> I'm trying to be as helpful as po- You can raise it back up because I know that it's more >> There you go. >> The conversation with her went very smoothly, almost like some old friends catching up. The thing that finally broke the illusion for her was being handcuffed behind her back. Other than that though, everybody seemed to be in a really good mood. >> If you would like to do me a favor, now we can have a seat. You can rest yourself. I'll help you down. >> in my pocket. Yeah, they are in >> Okay, I'll get them for you. >> Yeah, and Sorry. >> Lighter in there? >> I know the lighter is right there. >> All right. Yellow one? >> Yes, sir. >> Right here. Okay. I'll help you down. >> All right, thank you. Um if you >> There you go. >> Um Thank you. Ah! >> Damn extra large gloves for my skinny hands. There you go. There's no lighter in here. So Can you get your lighter in here? >> I don't >> All right, it's just the damn gloves. I can't get it in. It's all proof. There you go. >> Can Can you Can you call my dad? >> We'll We'll get to all that. We're at the very very beginning. You're going to be spending some time with us, Ms. Miller, so we'll get We'll get to all that fun stuff here in just a moment. >> After a while though, the woman's mood began to [music] change. She wasn't chirpy anymore, and at one point, she even started crying. She realized she was going to jail, and that's nobody's idea of a good time. >> My boyfriend's holding that little sign. >> Who's your boyfriend? >> Huh? >> Who's your boyfriend? >> David Ortiz. >> I don't know him. Is he local? >> He's the reason I'm not clean. >> You got clean? Then why are you doing this for money and not seeking a real job? >> Um I couldn't get work doing applications, and I'm on the to lie, we were out 24/7. >> Oh, sweet. >> Yeah, my dad >> Are they charged? What's what's your flavor, meth? >> Meth. Um, my dad died last night, so >> Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. >> You can uh after all this is done, you can call my dad and let him know that I'm in jail. >> I thought you said he >> He's my stepdad. >> Okay, I was going to say I thought you just said he just died. >> Yeah, he's my street He's like my street dad down here. >> Street dad? >> Yeah. >> What's his name? >> Uh John uh Whitney. >> What does a street dad mean? >> Somebody that looks out for me. >> He's not He's not selling you out or nothing, is he? >> Selling me out, what do you mean? >> He's not working [snorts] you? >> I mean Trickin'? >> Yeah. >> I don't trick. >> Okay. >> My mother told me while I was in line with you guys. >> As things turned out, she was a lot more forthcoming than most suspects, but after stealing mail from more than 60 houses, she'd still have to face the consequence. She was charged with 63 counts of petty theft and 63 more counts of fraudulent use of personal identification information. In reality, once the cops catch up to you, there's really nothing much you can hide from them.
