All right, listen, man. Is there a reason why why your car smell like the odor that I'm going to associate with marijuana? >> No, cuz I be when I be That's just my girlfriend's car. >> I got to take my >> Go and hop out of the car. >> It's a lie. >> Okay. Hop out of the car. >> Hey. >> Move out of the car. >> I was I got people in the trunk. >> They're in the trunk? >> Yeah. >> Why the in the trunk? >> With dangerous criminals, even a cop's most routine shift can turn into a heated encounter. That's why the cops have to be ready for anything, especially when a minor traffic incident takes an unexpected turn. >> Do they have air? Can they breathe? >> Yes. >> The bodies that are in that false wall hiding? >> I don't know, sir. I swear. >> On September 22nd, 2025 in Texas, a cop saw a truck on the road with expired license plates. After pulling the truck over, the officer spoke to the driver. >> How you doing, sir? Go ahead and open up for me. Texas Highway Patrol reading stop. You have expired license plates since April. >> Really? >> Yeah. Let's see your driver's license and registration, man. Where are you headed today? >> Uh Fort Worth. >> Fort Worth, okay. Where you coming from? >> Uh Just the wrong way. This is called Who is near uh San Miguel? >> Yeah, yeah, okay. Right over here in this little town back here? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you have all your paperwork on the truck and everything? >> Yes. >> What company is it? >> Uh Well, it's it's on we saw on uh water totes. So, on Marketplace. >> All right. How long you been doing that? >> Uh a couple months to a month. >> Let's see your driver's license again, please. >> The man had a Maryland driver's license, which caught the cop's attention. So, he asked the driver if he was just in Texas temporarily. The driver explained he was just driving commercially through the state. So, the officer asked for a few more documents. >> I know, usually people that they have box trucks they got like all their paperwork in a notebook and everything like that. Well, that's something. Scale. Or I guess when you got weight or they weighed the truck. This is back in May when they weighed it. I'll put that back up there paper. You don't have any problem with your license not suspended or anything like that? So everything is good? >> Let me just check everything real quick and I'll get you rolling, all right? >> Sounds good. >> Is this Is this your normal truck you've been driving or or is this like one you just picked up a little while ago or? >> No, this this is a regular truck. >> Regular truck? All right. Just let me check the VIN and everything make sure it's all good. >> Got insurance >> Yeah. And is this like one of the main trucks you drive or does somebody else drive for the company or? Who's the actual person the insured name right here? Does it say it's not your name or is it? Well, yeah, it is, right? All right, let me check everything real quick and I'll get you on your way, buddy. >> Sounds good. Thank you, man. >> Is there a reason your plates are expired or you just didn't know? >> Uh I didn't know. I was pretty good about >> All right, buddy. Watch your feet and I'll get you on your way shortly, okay? >> The cop was calm on the surface and he went back to his patrol car to run the driver's information. He had a hunch that something wasn't quite right here so he contacted a colleague to consult with him. >> Who's kind of my 20, bro? I'm about 3 or 4 miles north of you, north of Falfurrias. I got a box truck expired 28th. The dude has no paperwork for whatever he's hauling in the back. >> I mean it's 1017. >> It's expired. He showed me an insurance where he has insurance on the truck but he's got nothing else and he says he's coming from Roma heading to George West. >> 1017. >> All right, homie. See you shortly. >> Soon after, another officer arrived to help with the search. They decided to check out what was being transported in the back. The officer then went back to the driver with a request. >> Is it you step out of here with me real quick? All right. Do you have any weapons on you, nothing like that, no knives, you know anything like that, bro? Do you know what you have in the back right now? Or what are you hauling? >> It's water totes. >> Just water totes like you said? All right, but you have no bill of lading, where you're taking it, where you're going to drop it off, anything like that? >> They're just selling them at the market. >> All right, all right. Still all right with you and you get your permission, you give us consent, you know, consent to search, if you could you open that up? All right. You're in the George West right now? >> Well, I was going to make the stop on uh Sabathas. >> Okay. >> To Mattress. >> Okay, got you, buddy. And Do you know if they have hazmat or anything in them or they're just >> They're empty. Empty. We just sell them. >> All right. How much do they usually go for? >> Uh >> Or how much do they go >> I think >> 300 for that? >> Sure. >> I'm not >> After being asked, the driver here said said he'd been in Texas for about 2 months. The officer asked the man to step aside and once he did, the cops climbed up into the truck and began inspecting the water totes. >> No, they don't look like they got a whole bunch of dust on them. >> So, none of these things got liquids in or they all empty? >> They're all empty. >> They're all empty, okay. Yeah, they're all light. Yeah, I can see all the way to the front. I'm not seeing any gap or anything. There you go. Right there, all just stacked all the way to the front. I'm trying to see the wall, though. Mhm? >> There's in the wall, look. There is a crack. I don't know if I can reach in there. >> Yeah. >> It >> does. >> Look at all the caulking over there, the like that spray foam in the corner. >> Can you get in there? >> You'd be the only lightweight guy that could get in there. >> I got you. >> Let me see it. >> Open it all the way up. >> You're going to have to go this way. >> Yeah, I got you. >> One of the cops moved deeper into the truck as he had a hunch there might be a false wall inside. Meanwhile, the other officer stayed outside, but he didn't have to wait too long. Shortly after, he heard a very concerned voice and the traffic stop became something much more serious. >> Look at the wall, bro. You got a compartment wall. You got a compartment. I don't know if there are people in there, but >> Really? >> Yeah, it's a compartment. You know what I'm talking about? >> All right, Sid, put your hands behind your back. Put your hands behind your back. Don't make this difficult. Is there anybody traveling with you right now, following you? All right. Put your back right there, buddy. Sid, right now I'm going to read you your rights, all right? You have the right to remain silent and not make any statement at all. Any statement you make, you have the right to terminate this interview at any time. With all this, I've already advised you of your rights, okay? So, is there anything you want to explain to me? Can you tell me what's up in there? >> Uh I don't know, sir. I'm just >> You don't know? >> Uh I'm just doing my job. >> You're doing your job? Well, there you Would there be a reason there'd be a hidden compartment in there? >> I don't know, sir. I don't >> I mean, right now you're you're you're You're driving the truck. You can't tell me anything about the truck. You see how that looks? >> The cops told Sid that for years now, they'd been dealing with human smuggling cases and had seen pretty much everything. They had a pretty good idea that Sid was aware that there were people in the truck. >> So, are you unaware that there might be anything in there? >> I'm not sure. >> You're not sure? >> You know that if if people die in there, >> I said you heard Sid say he was mine. >> Do they have air? Can they breathe? >> The bodies that are in that false wall hiding. >> I don't know, sir. I swear I don't. I don't know. >> I mean, if that if if they bought this truck after market and it has a false wall or something, anything that happens right now, the liability if they can't breathe anything, that's on you, man, cuz you're the driver. You've been nice the whole time. I'm going to be nice right back. That's the only reason that there's something you know. I've already read you your rights, man. This is the only way you can help yourself right here, okay? So, right now, I'm going to get everything going. We're going to do what we can here on the side of the road, but all in all, we're like I said, the hang-ups are on you, man. I mean, if you do something's in there and I can tell you right now, those boxes, those containers here in South Texas, they go for $80 each, not 300, so >> I wasn't sure, sir. >> All right. >> Getting the secret compartment open from inside the truck's trailer proved to be more difficult than they thought. Therefore, the officer then tried to access it from inside the cab. He took the seat out and there they were, illegal immigrants hidden inside that Sid was trying to smuggle. >> We got four. >> They're probably using three mobile phones. >> I'll tell BP to We'll go let Comstock know. I'm going to shut the door that way they can't. >> Sid was clearly lying as there was no way he didn't know about the immigrants. After all, they'd gotten into the hidden compartment through the driver seat. Shortly after, the four migrants were brought out of the truck. >> Here, Red. I got their IDs. Look. least two of their IDs. >> Ricky, you got your >> Should I take a group photo of them or Yeah, I got it. I got it. That's all you need. >> The migrants who'd illegally crossed the border from Mexico were turned over to Border Patrol and later deported. As for Sid, he went He was also staying illegally in America and he'd been previously arrested in Maryland on charges of fraud and assault. He was taken to the county jail and booked on felony smuggling charges. On the 15th of April 2023, the cops were searching an area when they stumbled upon a gray sedan and it was struggling to move forward and rolling backward into the road. The officer thought the car was damaged, so he made [music] contact with the driver. >> Is this your car? >> Yeah. >> Gotcha. What's your last name, my man? >> Macias. >> Gotcha. Whose car is it? >> This one? >> Yeah. >> It's Vilma. >> Yeah, is Diane here or something? >> Yeah, she's Gotcha. Vilma said turn on the lights. >> Okay. >> Yep. >> Go ahead and hop out of the car for me. >> What? >> Go ahead and hop out of the car. >> I didn't do nothing. >> I think I'll take one. Go ahead and hop out of the car. >> This my life. >> Okay. Hop out of the car. >> Hey. >> Move out of the car. >> What's this? >> Get out of the car. >> I didn't do nothing. >> Get out of the car. >> I promise you I didn't >> Might be the female. I don't know. >> In the passenger seat, the cops saw a teenage girl. That very same night, they'd gotten a report of a missing teenager. The father stated she'd left home in the morning and just never came back. According to friends of the girl, she'd been communicating online with an adult male and the cops had been searching the area specifically for her. >> Get out of the car, man. >> You going to arrest me? >> I'm not arresting you. Get out of the car. >> All right. He's going to >> Might be the female in reference. I'm not sure. Get out of the car. >> Okay. I'm in. >> Come back over here. >> You like that other guy turning out the I seen for help. >> Come over here. I got you. Go and sit on the on the front bumper of my car. Don't dig around your waist gun or anything. >> Oh, no. I just pulled in my car. >> Okay, I got you. Go and sit on the bumper of my push bar. Who's the female in your car? >> Uh yes. Oh, I even forgot. >> Okay, take a seat. Sit down. Perfect. Hang out right there. Yep. Just keep him right there for me. >> Yeah, I'm I'm I'm just trying to get to the gas station. >> Okay, now I know. Take it a little bit quicker. >> All right. >> Okay, we'll figure out everything. Hey, who You don't even know who he is. >> Who? What's your name? >> It's okay, don't even answer. It's fine. >> I'm in >> You can put your hands on your knees. Right on your knees. Perfect, just like that. >> The man's name was Rogelio, and he didn't even know the name of the girl he was driving in his car. That was more than suspicious, and the way the man quickly stated, quite defensively, that she was alive was outright disturbing. The officer continued questioning the man. >> Where are you coming from? >> Me? >> Yeah. >> I was up there this hill again. >> Okay. >> And my car run uh turn off, and I was pushing it, you know. I asked this guy to help me. The car went in his yard, and he was like threatening me. Like he was going to pull his gun on me, and I'm like, "Bro, I'm just asking you like to help me." >> He's complying on my bumper right now. There's a female in the car. Juvenile doesn't know her name. Might be our female. I I don't I don't doubt that you're not lying. I'm just going to put you in handcuffs for a second till we figure out what's going on here, okay? >> arrest. Do not resist. Stand up. >> After putting the suspect in handcuffs, the cops went to speak with the young girl in the car. They had a hunch she was the teenage girl they were looking for, whose name was Amora. >> Hey, what's your name? Okay, so you know our body cameras are on. Answer. Okay. 911, you can do these calls. This is going to be my missing juvenile. My partner's right next to you. She's a little out of it. >> Okay. Can I open this door? Okay. I'm Officer Fletcher. I just got done talking to your mom and dad, okay? >> [music] >> Yeah, what's going on? >> They're a little bit worried about you. They would just want to know where you're at. Are you okay? >> She's She's out of it, dude. Like she's loopy. >> [music] >> It's got a bit too shitty in here. >> Amora wasn't in a fully coherent state, which was very concerning because she might have been drugged. Even more alarmingly, they found a machete in Rogelio's car. What the cops really wanted to hear was the teenager's version of events and what she was doing with a 35-year-old man. >> What do you mean go through my phone? >> Your parents are probably going to go through some of your stuff because, like I said, I would rather you just be up front with me so I can try to like mitigate some of it, but they're under the impression that you went to go meet up with some older dude and they're worried, and I'm worried, that some older dude, and maybe that's just a coincidence, is going to take advantage of you or hurt you or God knows what. You okay? You seem out of it. Did you smoke pot today? Yeah, I'm not here to get you in trouble. I just want to know like why you seem so >> [music] >> kind of dazed. Did you get smoked out? Did you take an edible? No. Okay. Did any You didn't eat or drink anything from anybody? This guy didn't give you anything to eat or [music] drink? >> The cops were genuinely concerned about her, and she was likely around the age of some of their own kids. One of the cops had talked to her already, >> [music] >> and he relayed her account to the others. >> She basically said that she did go to the park today where she grew up on with dad. She said she met up with Jazzman or something, a 12-year-old from her school, or she just saw him at the park and they hung out for a while, and then she went to the bus stop cuz she was hungry. So, she was going to catch the bus, but she didn't have money. So, then she saw this dude, who she said at first she doesn't know, but then she said, "Well, I think it's maybe the brother of somebody I go to school with, cuz his car looks familiar." So, she's got to be weird there. And then, she said that she came and got into his car asking him for a ride home, and he said, "Sure." And he apparently put her address in his phone for GPS. And at first she said he she didn't like drink or eat anything, but then she finally, just before I heard in the car said that he did actually give her some water when she got in the car. Something's not right. >> She's just like looking at me laying there with the jacket on. >> And she said that she has been sleeping. Which >> Probably got drugged or used drugs, one of the two. >> The cops had plenty of suspicion about what Rogelio might have done with her. Therefore, two of the cops [music] went to talk to her parents, while the others took the suspect to the station to be questioned even further. >> What happened today? Can you kind of tell me about your day, like how all this stuff started? >> I was playing basketball and this girl came where I was and told me like to give her a ride, whatever, and I was like, "Yeah." I'm like, "You sure?" Like he's like, "Yeah." So, I was driving with her and she was driving with me and I don't know, she was saying that she was going to get in trouble or something. >> Mhm. >> I don't know. Then she didn't want to get off my car, man. >> Yeah. >> Like I I don't steal none of that party. I had a my shitty party the officers think bad, you know? >> Yeah. >> And especially cuz she was all I don't know. I didn't even see her when she was she put blankets on on top. I don't know, she she just covered herself and probably with the officer seeing her, you know, and right away pulled the the gun and I was like I was like, "She's she's alive, like she's not dead, you know?" Like I don't hurt people, no, Not like that, so we was driving all day. I mean, I told tell me where you were staying like to drop you off, you know? She didn't want to leave and I was like, "Okay." >> The officer then asked the man about any physical contact between them, and he denied that he touched the girl, but he responded slightly differently when they asked him the next question. >> Did you guys ever kiss? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> She kissed me. >> She kissed you? When did she kiss you? >> On my lips. >> When? Cuando? >> Oh, as uh when I woke up, when I when I took a nap, she was like came here and she was kissing me and I was like, like, "No, there's there's a there's a cop coming." I just said it like that, you know? >> Mhm. >> I didn't even have nothing to eat. >> Yeah. >> I was saying her like, "You can You can go to uh my place. I mean, I'm not alone." >> Mhm. >> And she didn't say nothing. I have to go home like, "Bye." >> So, when she kissed you, what did you do? >> I don't know. It was awkward. I was just went like She just It was I man >> And where did Where did you kiss? Both on the lips? >> She just the lips. >> Okay. >> And >> How long do you guys think you kissed? >> I was not in into it like >> Yeah. When you guys were kissing, um were you touching any part of her body with your hands? No? How about was she touching any part of your body with her hands? No? >> No. >> Not even Not even just like a hand on the arm or shoulder? >> No, that I would No, I don't think so. >> Okay. What were your hands doing? >> And this then then they were like that. >> Okay. >> Cuz she first she pulled me down, you know? And trying to do a hickey whatever. >> He explained that the girl wanted to give him a hickey on his neck, at least allegedly, but there was no sign of it at all. He kept reassuring the cops that he hadn't touched the girl, and he was then asked another important question. >> So, Rogelio, this is really important. >> Great. >> And I want to ask you this, and I want you to tell me the truth, okay? Because we will go we will go and check. Did you take her to any motels? >> No. >> Did you Did you stop at any motels and try to get a room? >> No, I promise you that. I did it the the condoms that I have it was not Don't think that I bought them like with her. >> Okay. What are they for? >> The condom one they was like it don't was the ones that you hit you put in the light and they they light up, you know? I don't know how how they call them. >> Okay. >> I don't know it was new. My friend she gave me the condom. >> A friend gave you those condoms? >> same No, that one. >> Okay. >> The other ones I grabbed them and the smoke shop is they've been out a while that I grabbed them. >> Okay. Well, what do you need the condoms for? >> Cuz I was with with my friend. >> Sounds like you were going to maybe have somebody else. >> No, but that was like before that was like 3 days ago, you know? >> Okay. >> According to forensic testing, there was no indication the girl was physically abused. They charged Rogelio with communicating with a minor for immoral purposes, [music] which is a gross misdemeanor. It carries a maximum penalty of almost a year in jail and a fine of $5,000. On June 26, 2024, in West Des Moines, Officer Donovan Rowe was on routine patrol when he noticed an elderly biker riding without lights. In the state of Iowa, it's not illegal, but under city code in West Des Moines, it was a traffic violation, so the officer stopped the man. How you doing, buddy? >> Uh You got to have a rear reflector on your bike, my man, if you're going to ride on the roadway. So, what's up? >> Oh, okay. >> So, and then if you're going to ride at night you need a front light. I'm sure you know that but you got an idea on you real quick just so I can say I stopped to talk with you. Okay. Can I get your uh >> Gregory Stallings. >> Gregory Stallings is your name? Okay. Gregory g r e g o r y and how do you spell Stallings? >> s t a l l i n >> s What's your date of birth? >> Uh >> Bear with me buddy. I'll get you out of here as fast as I can. >> Aside from the man's name, the officer also recorded the suspect's social security number. When he checked it in the database, nothing came back for a person named Gregory Stallings. That being said, he went back to the cyclist to ask him a few more questions. >> Gregory, I'm still not getting that back. Are you sure that's right? >> I'm sure it is. I've been a long time since I had to look it >> Yeah. I do. Can you run one for me? Last name Stallings, Sam, Tom, Adam, Lincoln, Lincoln, Ida, Nora, Sam. First name Gregory, George, Robert, Edward, George, Ocean, Robert, Young. The reason why is because I hate if you're riding your bike and someone rear-ends you >> Oh, yeah. >> and they and they can try they can kind of point the finger at you because the reflector and I hate that cuz it's like no it's >> I understand that. >> He said he didn't have an Iowa driver's license and he thought he might have one in Florida but he wasn't sure. The officer asked his colleagues to verify things and when they [music] did so, it only raised a few more questions. >> All right buddy, I need some way to verify it. So, what state do you know a state that you've had a DL out of? Cuz it's not Florida. You've never had a driver's license ever? >> No. I'm trying to remember the last one I had. You know, I had it like I got run over. My brain ain't quite right. >> It's okay. I just I need to verify before I can let you go in case >> Okay. I know I volunteer at Human Services. They know me. >> Human Services know you? >> Right here with me. Yeah, I volunteer out there every morning but still we can go right up there and you can talk to >> I would Just think of this What state? I can get you through any state even if it's really old so I know it's been a while. Just try to Yeah, try to think for me. >> All right, I can't remember. Where else have you lived? Have you ever had any other run-ins with any law enforcement for us? No? Yeah. Yeah. So what we're going to do for now while I keep investigating this is I'm going to take a picture of you and send it to our guy who has facial wreck. So will you pull your hat off and your glasses off? All right. Okay, just have a seat for me, okay? All right, brother. Time to be honest with me, okay? So the info you gave me comes back to a dead guy. Gregory Solon is dead. And the social, yeah. Yeah. So who are you? You're Gregory, you're just not dead? Yeah. They don't just declare people deceased cuz they haven't heard from them in a little bit. >> [snorts] >> If Yeah, if if I'm going to arrest you, we're still doing a couple of things cuz I'm trying not to arrest you. No, no hits. No hits. Said said 2000 is the year of the death. Did you go Did you go missing in that year? Did you Someone report you missing and then they just declare you >> I don't talk to my people in a long, long, long, long time. >> Okay. >> Meanwhile, Officer Rose's colleagues continued searching for information on the man. Eventually, one of them got his real name, which was George Hardelroad. Minutes later, the disturbing truth came out. He was a convicted rapist who'd been on the run for the past 30 years. >> Yo, none of those are mad at you. I'm just baffled that law enforcement has let you go for 30 years. They're not pushing you to >> What's crazy is 1990, that means you've been on the run longer than two out of the three officers here on the street that I've been alive. >> 1995, I was 1 years old. >> 94. >> So, I'm saying yeah, you were >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Well, where have you been of all your different places, man? >> All over the place. >> Where's your been your favorite? >> Iowa. >> Iowa's on there? Why is that? Just curious. Well, not Michigan, though. You didn't die. Yeah, you can, brother. Well, not Michigan. You didn't die in that. >> colder. >> Can I Hey, buddy. Can I get that knife out of your pocket since uh And then you can do whatever you want with your >> George was 71 and he'd been wanted in Wisconsin for three decades. He was wanted for rape there and the officer then reported some additional charges tied to him. >> Like possession [snorts] of a short barreled rifle, false imprisonment, a bunch of stuff from He He's on the run since like 90 >> 95. >> So, he gave us much fault He gave us in false information and then gave us information of a dead guy and then which tipped us off and then The heart part is I stopped him on a city code violation cuz city code says that during the day you have to have a rear reflector, but state code doesn't. So, like I didn't want to I wanted to figure out as much as I could here with I didn't want to hook him on a city code cuz that makes a lot of issues. So, but then eventually BC showed up. BC said, "Hey, man, cut the [ __ ] Tell us your real name." He just told him his real name. I've done that like six times. >> It was later revealed that he'd escaped from a halfway house in Wisconsin back in 1995. After uncovering the full picture, the cops had no choice but to treat him as a dangerous fugitive. >> Back straight here. >> All right, let's see your pockets. >> I'm going to double lock these so they don't tighten up on you, okay, buddy? >> Yep. >> Okay, you're under arrest now, okay? >> You want to tell us what you got? >> I'm going to throw that away. >> Yeah, I'm going to take your cigarette out of your >> Yeah, I'm not going to take cigarettes. I mean, I have to >> I said 55. >> that works for smoking, but >> No, you won't be able to smoke in there, but I'll be able to take them out. >> Yeah. >> I'm going to I'm going to take them out of your pocket just so you don't light them up in the back of my car. I've had someone do that before. >> I can see it. >> Hop out, squat for me. >> They took their butane lighter out >> Hop out. >> lighter up. >> No. >> Good. >> Yep. >> I said you never see a slow car or what? >> No, I was just >> [laughter] >> Not the most comfortable, but lean back for a second. I'll loosen this up. >> George was taken to jail, and he was later charged with arrest without a warrant. He was later transferred to Dane County Jail in Madison, Wisconsin. Our next suspect was spotted committing multiple traffic violations, including changing lanes without signaling and following the vehicle in front of him too closely. Initially, the Arizona cops who encountered the man thought he might just be an agitated driver who needed to be fined. But when they pulled the man over, they discovered something far more serious. >> How's it going? I'm Deputy Smith, I'm with the Sheriff's Office. Reason I pulled you over, you got this obstruction of view, you crossed lanes twice without using a blinker, and you were following that car by just a couple of feet. >> Big difference, he just pulled up there. >> I watched you pull right in front of it, right behind him, and then in front of the other car. >> Where are you coming from? >> Madison. >> Las Vegas. >> Got you. >> They uh took my son yesterday. >> Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Um do you have your registration and insurance? >> No. >> It's a new car? >> Yeah, I kept his truck. Broke his truck. >> Okay. How old was he? He was uh >> The officer asked the man if he had any weapons and he replied that he didn't. The man continued talking insisting on sharing the personal details of his life with police. >> My daughter is a is a police officer up in >> Okay. I'm going to open this right here. Where's she a police officer? >> She's at Fort Bragg right now. >> Oh, really? >> Yeah, sir. >> Military police? >> Yeah, she's coming home Friday, so >> Nice. >> for Friday. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, I took my kids out here on a vacation current Her and her brother out here. I took them on vacation out here one time. I brought some of his ashes out. >> When was he when was he taken? >> Well, it was a well, it was like yesterday to me, but it the anniversary 2 years just came up. >> Okay. Did he live in Vegas or uh >> I I did. I lived in Vegas. >> How long did you live in Vegas? >> Well, I should have got out of there for 3 years. He stopped to help somebody get he got hit. >> Wow. >> And he was standing in the freaking he was standing off in the shoulder in the grass. >> Really? >> That's what this is all about. Forever 21. >> The officer, of course, expressed sympathy for the man's loss. The man then explained that he'd been in Vegas for a few days to see some colleagues he used to work with. Before the officer could ask another question, the driver returned to the tragedy involving his son. >> Well, I still I got rid of his truck. I couldn't uh When I got it back his truck me and him were working on it before he passed away and I just I couldn't do it anymore. I rebuilt the motor but the needed a dashboard and the price of gas I couldn't afford to drive something. So. >> Yeah, it's crazy stuff. >> Did he still keep it around or did he sell it? >> I sold it to one of his dear friends so. >> Yeah. Do you come back to Vegas very often to visit friends or what not? >> yeah. I try to come back every couple of years. >> Do you usually drive or fly? >> I drive. >> It's a lot cheaper to fly. >> I don't care to fly. >> How far of a drive is that? 26 hours? >> Uh depending I mean you know depends on where I I wasn't living in Michigan and I was living in Ohio. >> Over 30 hours isn't it? It's a long drive. I was actually just looking >> From Michigan it was 20 6 hours 23 hours. Even if it depends on if I'm speeding or not. If I see you guys out here you guys are going to take a little longer. >> The man kept the officers engaged in friendly conversation. He shared that he didn't like flying and preferred traveling by car. However, he appeared unusually anxious and shortly after he began talking again about his personal problems. >> I'm going through a divorce and I just needed a break and I'm down here. She won't let me see my other three kids. I put a ring on it. >> Oh really? Boy or girl? >> Well, it's going to be awesome. >> When's he due? >> Well, September so. >> It's coming up quick. >> Try to make sense of what's left of my life. Divorce is quite the ordeal. She She got everything she wanted in the beginning but we're not still divorced yet. So, as long as she can keep this thing going she just gets whatever she wants. And that's just being nasty. >> Yeah, she's being stupid. >> The driver's behavior along with how talkative he was raised the officer's suspicions. He had a sense this might be more than just a traffic stop and figured the man was trying to divert the focus using his sob story. That being said, it wasn't working for the man and the officer asked him again if anything illegal was in the car. >> Is there anything in that vehicle that I need to know about? Any stolen items, large amounts of cash? >> I've got nothing. >> Nothing like that? >> I wish. >> Any illegal drugs? >> No, I got nothing. >> Nothing? Nothing? Are there any prescriptions in there that's not yours? >> Nope. >> Is there any methamphetamine? Is there any cocaine? >> Nope. >> Is there any heroin? >> Nope. >> Is there any fentanyl? Is there any large amounts of marijuana? >> Nope. >> Keep in mind marijuana is legal here in Arizona. >> Just help me. >> Okay. >> Since he denied having anything illegal, that should have meant that the driver had nothing to worry about. So, when the officers asked for consent to search the vehicle, the man's response wasn't matching his claims. >> All right. >> Nothing's in the vehicle, right? Would you give me consent to search the vehicle? >> Why do you want to >> Huh? >> What do you want to search it for? >> Um >> I've got I've got nothing to hide, but there's no reason to search my car. >> So, you're saying no? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Hang tight. >> The officer's suspicion got stronger. The driver's hesitation to allow a search, in addition to the fact that he'd driven such a long distance instead of flying to Vegas, gave the cops reason to change their approach. >> All right. Well, I'm going to just going to be completely honest with you at this point we're outside of the the scope of the traffic stop. So, this is a detention at this point. I'm going to read you the Miranda warnings. You're not under arrest in any way, but >> just detained. >> I mean, a traffic stop is a detention a form of detention. >> Yeah. >> Right now, since I'm holding you beyond the scope of the traffic stop. >> is up in there? >> I believe you're hiding something from me. So, I'm going to >> I I got my son's gun. >> Backed into a corner, he finally admitted that he had a gun in his possession. The officer read him his Miranda rights and after securing the weapon, he went back to the suspect and totally took control of things. >> All right, turn around. I asked you about weapons in the car. >> I know. I didn't tell you no. I was >> Yeah, I'm going to search you. This is a search incident to arrest. You can't lie about a firearm. I asked you directly. >> I I know it. I just I was lying about it. I was nervous. >> All right, well, you know it's you can't do that. If you got a gun, that's okay. I just asked about it and you said no. >> I wouldn't even I didn't even think about it. >> So, this point you're under arrest. >> What began as a simple search had quickly turned into an arrest. However, as far as that day went, it was not going to be the suspect's biggest problem. Shortly after, the man admitted to possessing something a whole lot worse. >> Anything else in the car we need to know about? Nothing at all? >> Actually, yeah, man. >> What? >> There's possibly >> I'm going to be honest, what is it? >> Meth. >> How much? >> I I was just I don't know. I didn't I didn't put it in there. >> You didn't put it in there? >> No. >> Okay. Somebody else did. All right, well, I appreciate your >> you helping me, man. >> In fact, we're going to work with you as well. >> The suspect estimated that he was carrying around 100 lb of meth. The man said he turned to trafficking after his wife took his house. Shortly after, the cops discovered a massive quantity of drugs in his trunk. >> Yeah, bro. >> Yeah, buddy. So, how do we get this in the car back? But >> We're going to look at all of them. >> We'll do it all at the office. >> Yeah. >> Just take a look and make sure that they all match the same. >> It's going to be the same. You can feel it. >> Yeah. They're all Tupperware. >> We driving the whole thing back? >> Yeah. >> The suspect was taken to jail where they charged the man with drug trafficking. On the 23rd of January, 2026, [music] in Westminster, Colorado, Officer William Kessner spotted a blue Chevrolet spinning recklessly and wildly through a Dollar Tree parking lot. The car made a donut-style turn, ran multiple stop signs, then accelerated onto City Center Drive. >> Hi there. >> Hello. >> I'm Officer Kessner with the Westminster Police Department. Any idea why I'm stopping you today? >> Uh cuz I was acting like an idiot? >> Yeah, huge in that parking lot. You're lucky you didn't hit somebody. And then you blew through the stop sign as well, both of them, one right at the building and then one to come onto the roadway. Do you have your insurance and registration as well? >> I do not. >> Okay. All right. Have you been drinking any alcohol today? >> No, sir. >> No? Okay. So, why are we driving like that in the parking lot? >> Um I don't This is a rental and I'm like I was trying to I don't know. I was just messing around. >> Okay. Are you sure you haven't drank any alcohol cuz I got a smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle right now. >> No, sir. It's my uh >> Your Xanax, so Xanax are supposed to They smell like alcohol or Okay. That's interesting cuz I've got plenty of buddies that use those and none of them ever smell like alcohol. >> The driver, later identified as Thomas Raiola, a 40-year-old, told the officer he was coming from work. He denied drinking alcohol, but the cop could smell it on his breath. Suddenly though, the man changed his story. >> So, I just want to confirm you're you're saying you don't have any You have not drank any alcohol today. >> No, sir. >> Because you got a smell of alcohol coming from you. All right. Honesty is going to be your best policy. Okay? Did you have anything to drink today? >> Earlier today. >> When? >> Uh leaving work. I don't even know >> What time is Do you even know what time it is? What time did you leave work today? >> I don't >> You don't even know. Okay. >> 6:00, 6:30. >> You're a little off. >> Thomas admitted that earlier that day he drunk two shooters and after a few more questions the officer started some field sobriety tests. During the first one he had to follow the officer's finger with his eyes. >> You understand? Okay. All the way follow to my finger. Yep. Just It's just going to go up just a little bit. Do you okay? Yeah, go ahead and blink real quick. >> During the test he was swaying around and was struggling to stay still. According to police records the cops saw six out of six possible clues of impairment. It was time for the next test but things didn't go as planned. >> This one's called the walk and turn. This one's going to be nine heel-to-toe steps straight out. You're stand in a position. Well, if you didn't if you if you're fine you don't have anything to worry about. I promise. These tests are subjective to people that are under the influence. If you were completely sober you'll be able to pass these tests. Okay? There's lots of studies with these, okay? Put your feet like this. Heel hands down to the side. Get in this position that I'm in right here. Yep. Stay in that position right there. Hands down to the side. You're going to take nine heel-to-toe steps out >> [music] >> and then nine heel-to-toe steps back. When after you get to your ninth step you're going to leave your lead foot on the ground. Take a series of small steps. Turn yourself around. Nine heel-to-toe steps back. And it's going to look like this. I'm going to take three steps, you're going to take nine. 1 2 3 series of small steps. Don't Don't Don't start You're going to do nine. 1 2 3 You're going to take nine steps. I only took three to show you what what's done, okay? You're going to get in that position again with your heel touching like this. >> Thomas listened to the officer's instructions and for a sober person, it shouldn't have been that complicated. Suddenly though, he refused to follow the cops' orders and he gave up on the test which immediately sealed his fate. >> I'm done. >> You don't want to complete these? >> No. >> All right, go ahead and put your hands behind your back. >> Um Um >> Put your hands I'm going to put you on the ground if you turn and try to fight me. >> no, I'm not fighting. Um no, no, no. Um um it's even worse. You can ask questions. >> even worse. >> You can ask questions here in a second. >> What's even worse? [music] Um stop flexing up. >> The officer cuffed the man without hesitation. During the arrest, Thomas mentioned that things were even worse and initially, the cops ignored the remark. Seconds later though, he revealed a much bigger issue. >> Um what I'm saying is I was my kids are in the trunk. >> They're in the trunk? >> Yeah. >> Why the in the trunk? >> Because they're like that in the trunk and and go fast for us. So it's even worse. >> 331 1 copy >> I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. >> Why would you put your kids in the trunk? >> Because the brakes go right here. >> Is that why you're driving like a in the parking lot? >> Yeah. >> How old are you? So you have three kids hiding in the trunk? >> Yes. >> After the cops found out that his kids were in the trunk during the entire drive, [music] the man's recklessness worsened. He took the cops to the back of the car and they opened the trunk. >> What are you guys doing? >> Okay, everybody out. Go ahead and step over here. Where at over here? >> Uh let's uh just because you guys are it's cold let's I'm going to have you guys sit in my car, okay? Is that your dad? >> Yeah. >> Okay. You guys weren't kidnapped or anything? Weird. All right. >> We told him to go back. >> I I hear you. I hear you. >> Sorry. >> Just go Don't Don't be sorry. Just go ahead and take a seat for me, guys. If you need to put that seat belt down you can just so all of you can slide in, okay? >> Okay. >> Do you guys have a Do you guys have mom or anything like that or you guys just solely live with dad? >> No, we have our mom. >> Okay. Where does mom live? >> She lives in >> Okay. Do you have other family members close? >> I don't think so. >> Okay. All right. Just hang out tight, okay? >> How could he not [music] have mentioned the kids the moment the officer conducted the traffic stop? It was extremely reckless as it was extremely cold outside about 8° and they'd been in the trunk for about 20 minutes without heating. Also, during their father's reckless driving they were completely [music] unsecured. >> All right. So, here's the deal. State of Colorado, by operating a motor vehicle on the roads already you've given your express consent for a blood or breath test today. >> [snorts] >> Would you be willing to do a blood or breath test? No? Okay. So, that was a refusal. With a refusal there will be other administrative fees, fines, and stuff like that and your license will be revoked for up to a year, okay? >> Thomas' reckless driving would amount to serious charges. As he was taken to the jail house, the cops had to determine who was going to take care of his kids. >> Do you guys just live with dad? Or dad, do you live with other people? >> Oh, we live with our cousin. >> Cousin? How old is your cousin? >> He's like 50, I think. >> 50? Okay. Do you know his phone number by any means? Okay. We'll try to see if What's What's name? Okay. And he lives with you guys? >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. Just sit tight, okay? >> The officer's sense of smell had deceived them. He indeed smelled of alcohol, and they soon found the proof. Inside the man's backpack, there were empty cans and bottles of alcohol. >> Oh. There's a Twisted Tea. I'm going to take Oh, that's some vodkas. I'm going to take a picture of those. I'm just going to throw these on the roof real quick. That's completely empty. >> Inside it, the cops found two empty Svedka bottles, an 8% Twisted Tea can, a Fireball shooter, and a bottle of peppermint schnapps. The man's claims of being sober were totally unreliable, and they transported the man to Adams County Jail. >> Then step out for me. I'm going to step around this fire here, if that's okay. Thank you. I appreciate that. Here, face the car real quick. >> [snorts] >> All right. Go ahead and step this way. Step to your right to the shiny table. >> Thomas was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, three counts of child abuse, and some additional offenses that were traffic-related. Hopefully in the future, he'd make some better decisions, especially involving his kids. On May 25th, 2025, in Joliet, Illinois, the cops were on the trail of a car that was suspected of carrying firearms. They'd identified the vehicle during a simple traffic stop, and after a pursuit, they managed to catch up with the suspects near their home. >> Firearm. >> This right here? >> Don't go >> Time again. >> Okay, go. >> Exit out. >> Yeah, come on. Come on. Is this your >> You're okay. You're okay. Come on out. Let me make sure you got no weapons on you, all right? All right? You got no weapons on you? No, stay here. Stay. >> This is making me nervous. >> Put your hands behind your back, all right? There's a gun in the car. Put your hands behind your back. >> A gun where? >> In your car. Put your hands behind your back. You're Don't make a scene. >> Why are you arresting >> I'm not arresting you. You're going to wear the cuffs for a minute. >> Everybody relax. I'm back here with you too. >> As things turned out, the suspects' infant daughter was sitting right next to the weapon. Sadly for the child, she also had to witness the cops arresting her parents in front of their house. >> I'm going to get you. >> Get on your knees. >> It's okay. >> It's okay. It's okay. >> All right. >> Okay, you're under >> I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm okay. I'M GOOD. I'M GOOD. I'M GOOD. I'M GOOD. I'M GOOD. I'm okay. >> Why are you arresting >> I'm not arresting you. >> Relax. >> Everybody relax. >> I'm going to Get your feet under you. >> He's okay. Okay. >> I'm okay. I'm okay. I'm okay. I'm okay. >> All right, walk walk with me, okay? >> Liberty Meadows Estates. >> We're okay. >> Got anything that might poke me or anything? >> No, that's my uh you get that's my money. >> So, you can stay here for a minute. >> Okay, could you give me my my jewelry though? >> Yeah, hold on. >> Yeah. >> All right. Hey uh Tamayo, do you got a paper bag or anything? You got a You got dope on him, too. All right, I'm going to keep putting it back here. Yeah. Hey boss, he has dope on him, so he didn't ditch. Yeah. >> Okay. >> I was letting him know cuz he went in the house, so you was thinking he might toss something. >> But the weapons weren't the only problem here, and in the male suspect's pocket, the officers soon found drugs. One of the cops started questioning the mother of the young child. >> Cuz you got a You're sitting in the car with a gun, and you're involved in the case. >> What are you going to charge me with? >> I need your information, okay? I need your information for the report. >> This don't have >> Because were you in the car with the gun? Why are you making things difficult? I need your information. Do you want to go back in cuffs? You want it that? Okay. What's the last name? >> Keani, K E A N I. My first name is Simmons. >> Why do you need her name? >> Cuz she was in the car, [music] it's for the report. Simmons, do you have a firearm or a gun? >> Um no. >> No? All right. Um Are you guys getting out of the car? Because there's a a gun in the car. All right, I'll go I'll make a phone call. >> No! >> [music] >> What? Yeah, we'll we'll just give us a minute here. >> Like it's going to be on a patch? >> Relax. Jeez, you are like worried about the patch, like you're not worried about the firearm that's in the car. Man, you are making things difficult. >> It seemed like the mother, Simmons Keani, didn't fully realize what she'd gotten herself into. Or maybe for this woman, there's nothing wrong whatsoever with having a gun next to your daughter. The officers then read the man his rights, and as things turned out, he already had a couple [music] of warrants. >> We've been following you all day today. >> All right. >> I'd like you to get to the truth at your earliest convenience. >> Okay. >> Uh I'm going Who was in this car when you guys pulled up? >> I'm saying it's like you pulled up you got >> Who was in the car with you today? >> Um it was it was it was it was a her and it was another dude. I don't know his name, but >> Okay. Um right by where you were sitting there was a guy near your feet. >> No, I was sitting in the back. >> Okay. That's in the front seat loaded, you know, in that car. >> I don't want any convenience. I'm over here. [music] I'm just looking for some eyes, you know what I'm saying? >> Man, just tell her to come here. I'm going to just tell her to come here so we can tell you. What was that again? Tell me again. >> No, there was somebody in the car that wasn't in the car with me though. That's all That's what I'm about to That's what I'm about to tell her to I'm going to tell her to tell y'all. So I ain't got to I ain't got to >> No, no, no, cuz I'm going to I'm going to ask her too, you know? So I'm not going to bring her over here, you know, I want to talk to you guys. This is your chance to own up to your mistakes, right? Now I don't want any inconvenience. >> My only mistake is this dope in my pocket. That's all I had on me. I can't I can't I can't for nothing else. I ain't have dope on me. >> Okay. >> That's what I This is This is in my pocket. >> You were driving the car though, right? >> Right. No, I was in the backseat of the car with my people. It was two cars up here, bro. >> The cops have been tracking the [music] couple all day. They knew that other people had been in the car, or at least one other person. However, Simmons and her partner kept trying to hide their accomplice. The cops tried again to get some information from Simmons. >> And so just tell me today who was in your car. >> You guys Yeah. >> Justice got a warrant. >> 35 >> Okay, [music] cool. >> And he's he's known to >> Real quick. >> I know these questions may seem obvious, but I'm just trying to build a rapport that you're cooperating with us, right? So, if you start lying to me, it's going to be a crime and you're going to >> This ain't got to do with me. I'm not saying >> Tell me, where were you guys just coming from? >> I don't remember. I wasn't >> [music] >> I was sleeping. >> So, that's that's how it's going to be. He already told me. I'm asking you so I can cut you some breaks today. >> He told you that this don't have nothing to do with me. I don't have to >> I guess no no ride, we'll call the ACS. >> Y'all Y'all trying to scare me. Y'all not going to scare me. Y'all not going to scare >> You don't have a kid if you're not going to cooperate. Then we're going to have to We're going to have to bring you down. >> Y'all going to irritate me. >> [music] >> I don't understand how. >> How uncooperative you are. >> She not saying [ __ ] That's what I'm doing. Just come get her. Don't worry about it. >> You know what happens if we don't get the cooperation of what? You're going to go down, too. There's two girls in the car, okay? So, talk about who's getting irritated. Call the ACS. You should start thinking about what your answers you're giving. And I guess that's not that's not that's not a idle threat or bluffing. That's what we'll do. Cuz that's what we're supposed to do in a car like that. >> I didn't even know nothing I didn't even know nothing was in there. >> She responded with pointless questions, clearly trying to buy time. She tried to avoid the interrogation, saying how irritated and nervous she was. The cops tried to break through the woman's lack of cooperation. >> I can call the officer over here. You can answer his questions that he has for you. And maybe [music] you just get to go and get out of here. >> Can I go in there and pee at least? >> Just give us a minute here. >> Honestly, can stay here. You don't want to go with strangers either. I do need to go [music] pee, though. >> All right. Well, I got >> going to come right back. I You You could come watch me pee. >> Do you want to talk to this officer before you go pee here? So, we can get this over with. >> pee first? >> Give me a minute. She's got to use the bathroom. >> I'm going to advise you of your rights, okay? Because before I handcuff you, I want to ask you to go and I want to ask you a couple of Okay. >> As she refused to answer their questions, the interrogation had to wait a bit until they got to the station. They left her child with an older relative and she was placed back in her handcuffs. [music] >> Right here. Turn off the engine and relax. >> Do you have anything [music] on you? >> Nothing. >> Nothing? >> No. >> We're going to have a a female officer search you down. I'm going to give you a quick pat down, okay? >> Mhm. >> Where the keys to this car? >> I don't even know if they're in there. >> Well, it's running. It's got to be. >> Is it on him? >> During a search of the vehicle, they found a loaded handgun and drug paraphernalia and they were both within reach of the child in [music] the backseat. They both were charged with child endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawfully possessing a firearm. On December 25th, 2025, the cops saw a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road. When they initially tried to pull the man over, the driver didn't respond. In fact, they saw the man trying to hide something behind his seat. Seconds later, the man stopped and the officers confronted him. >> Yeah, it's hard to hear you now. I can't think straight with all that with all that noise. All right. All right. All three of you are going to the next block. Bro, you you speeding like a [ __ ] bro. And I'm standing right here. And then when I flagged you down, you didn't stop right away. Huh? 47 and 10, just up All right, listen, man. Just hang tight real quick. >> The cops checked out the suspect, 22-year-old Mark. Soon after, they were informed by dispatch that the man had a warrant. Another thing that concerned the cops was the smell coming out of the vehicle and the cops didn't hesitate to ask him. >> All right, listen, man. Is there a reason why why your car smell like the odor that commonly associated with marijuana? >> No, cuz I be I be That's just my girlfriend's car. I be smoking in her car and I leave. >> It's not your car? >> It's not. It's my girlfriend's car. >> It's your girlfriend's car? >> Yes. >> All right, is your girlfriend in the car right now? >> No, sir. >> No? Is there a reason why I would see what is commonly associated as marijuana? >> Yes, sir. >> You Don't touch it. >> Good, sir. >> All right. >> It's only a joint, sir. >> It's It's only a joint? >> Yeah, you can keep it. >> Huh? >> You can keep it. >> I don't want to keep nothing. That's only a joint? >> Yes, sir. >> All right. And you said it's your girlfriend's car? >> Yes, sir. I can call her first. >> I'm a minor. Listen, is the car in park? >> Yes. It's only that. I promise. >> It's only that? So, if I if I check the vehicle, it'll only be that? >> I'm being honest with you. >> Huh? >> I'm I'm I'm telling you >> So, do I got to go through this bill? You going to give me consent to check the vehicle? If it's only that, then we we Gucci. >> so >> I understand that. >> consent, but if I only have that, I'm telling >> All right, if it's only that, then you Gucci. >> I can show you what I got on me. >> Don't Don't Don't move. Don't Don't do anything. >> you, but I can show you what I got. Like, a whistle. >> What you got? Something else on you? >> No, sir. >> What? Don't Listen, don't Stop moving, man. >> I'm just showing you. >> What else you got on you? >> No, that's it. I'm just telling you like >> So, you telling me what you can show me what you got on you there? >> Yes, what like of my property, sir. That's what I'm saying. Of me. That's all I got on me. I don't have nothing >> He repeatedly insisted that he wasn't transporting anything illegal in the car. The officer listened to him and then asked him to step outside. When they asked him for his documents, he was unable to provide his driver's license. >> And he did Did it come back with him actually having DL or no? >> Driver's license, yes, sir. >> It just came back with an identification card, yeah. >> I got drugs. >> Did he say he had a DL or no? And when they ran the name, it said 5429 out of valid license. >> Yeah. >> All right. >> I don't I don't >> So, why you don't have the DL on you? Why you got your ID? You lost your DL? >> But I had to get at my mama's apartment for me cuz I was at the casino gambling the one day. They They wouldn't let me cash out my ticket, so they had I had to have identification card. I called my mom after she found my passport. She ended up finding my ID in her purse. That's the I bring that with me because it's a form of identification. I know the process and I apologize when I'm doing stupid stuff. >> out, man. Just stay right there. If this is the only thing you got in the car, I Listen. Listen. Stop. Stop. Stop. If I search the vehicle and it's Stop. You can't First of all, this this is not legal. All right. I don't want it. >> For your safety, as far as consent to search goes, because you are the driver of the vehicle. >> Mhm. >> You don't have to have someone else's consent to search. You're the one who's driving the vehicle. And in this case, it's your vehicle. >> It's not your girl's vehicle. I'm not >> but you're the one who's driving said vehicle. You can't like and you can't have her car because she's she's not the one driving. She's not the one here. >> So, can I call her at least? >> You say what? >> The cops still hadn't found anything in the car yet, but as they continued their search, they had the right to detain the man, so they placed him in handcuffs. >> Just do me a favor, just turn around. Right now, you're not under arrest. Right now, you're just being >> Okay, you guys recording? >> Yes, we are recording. >> Oh, my Oh, [ __ ] bro. Come on, I told you to have that, bro. I know you don't even want it, bro. >> Are you Man, man, just give me your stuff back and come on. >> Come on, man. >> Listen, I get it, but right now, we're we're trying to get you out here, right? So, again, the quicker that you kind of help >> Bro, it's not my vehicle. >> You're the one who's driving said vehicle. >> But it's not my vehicle. >> the one who's Hey, put him in the car. Hey.
