My kids can go they too. Every one of you. Let me go. I can walk on my own. Not after the way you just acted. Stop. Please. Please. You're going to make it worse. They don't like this. They don't like it. They don't right now. What the right turn around. Turn around. Oh my god. A person's house is often their safe place, but not for stupid crooks who think they can get away with anything. When the cops surprise stupid criminals at home, they have nowhere else to run. Sir, sir, please, sir. Please, sir. Please, sir. Please, please, sir. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE. [screaming] On November 25th, 2023 in Florida, a beauty store employee called police to report stolen wigs. The store opened early and let in their first customer. Not 2 minutes later, the helpful employee, Miss G, witnessed the customer exiting the [music] store after its security systems picked up on suspicious behavior. We have security stickers in the neckline. So that's And I ran out and I was like, "Ma'am, ma'am, ma'am." And the way she pushed the door open and the lady that was coming in jumped out of the way. So right then, that was a she was on. Did you see anything in her hand at that point? No, I didn't. All I She was by that time by the time I got out to her, she was telling him, "Let's go. Let's go. Let's go." Where was he parked? Right here. kind of where [clears throat] my police car is. Nope, they were right here. Oh, right in front. Right in front. All right. The camera showed me when he sped out, he did just what they're doing. Just like that. And I had gotten behind them. Okay. And that's how I was able to and I started saying the tag in my head. Oh, good. You know, cuz I didn't have my phone. Last week we got for a $3 cap, but they were dumb enough to back out, which could have been deadly. You said the the male was driving the car. He was driving. Did you see his face? He was a bright-skinned fella. He had goals in his mouth. Okay. If you saw a picture of him again, would you be able to say that to him? Okay. Mhm. Are you guys willing to cooperate with prosecution? Definitely. That's we about two grand bonus for Christmas. I'm definitely prose. I can't blame you. The suspect tried being sneaky but forgot about modern surveillance and tag technologies. With so many snatched wigs, this suspect's looking at a felony level charge. It didn't take long for the car's license plate to turn up an address. Police arrive and find a shocked Mo'Nique and her cousin at the residence. And the male driver is also inside. Hey, I'm going to pat you down real quick. Just make sure you're not there to turn off. Okay, just watch the house cuz the the male is inside also. Hey, I'm going to read you something real quick. Okay, you have the right to remain silent. Hold on. Before I tell you this, I'm going to tell you that we have clear video of everything. Just Just listen. Not me, though. Okay. Yeah, but I'm I'm actually Let's get Let's get this dog. I feel bad cuz I I know he gets like what I do though like like what I do cuz I I $2,000 is a big hit for a small store. Especially since the theft involved luxury items and not something essential like food. If she can't get a job to support those luxuries, she could probably get a job as a politician with how quickly she's spitting out excuses and lies. Yeah, let's come over here. We're going to come out. I'm I'm actually telling you that my cousin was already jacked but I I was I didn't want no hassle at all at all. People think it was not me no h at all sir. It was I'm not even from here like I was not at all sir. It was not me sir at all. I'm saying my cousin was here earlier but her name was Jessica. Wait that was not it was not me. What's your name? My name is Moique. Keep your hands in your pocket. I'm sorry. Say it again. She said she told she can't say why she leaving so fast. She just said that. Who was the male who was driving her? Um, he's going outside with her boyfriend. He's gone, too. They just happened to come grab this car. No. Yep. She she she was this car here. So, she um she she stand out here that night. She used this car right here and she left. Okay. Despite the video evidence, Mo'Nique keeps blaming one of her relatives who's nowhere in sight. Looks like her nerves might have gotten the better of her because her lies were becoming completely incoherent. The cops do their due diligence anyway and try to verify Mo'Nique's story. So, who was who was here earlier? I've been here all day. I I'm saying, but who was driving your car earlier? It shouldn't move since earlier. Well, it was it was moving. So, we're here we're here investigating a theft and then from the Air Supply store. Clear as day on video. Light-skinned male with with a grill driving. Oh, female with a long red wig. It was me. I kind of look like kind of looked like her, but she's mentioning another cousin, Jessica Henley. Oh, yeah. I'm honestly I've been asleep. Is there any other males here right now? No. We're talking about a significant amount of money. So your cousin Jessica, what did she stay at? That is not my blood cousin. It's just somebody I know. But I didn't even know. They just actually walk up and down here. They usually stay over here in like a blue looking band and stuff, but like I said, I've been in her sleep up until y'all Okay, give me give me one second. This woman's plucking stories out of thin air. She's already been found guilty and then decides to make things worse by running back into her house, leading to an immediate arrest. Now, that, my friends, is what guilt looks like. We supposed to have right now. It was not me. It was not me, sir. Please, please, please. It wasn't you. Why would you run? Why I run? I will call my sir. That makes sense. Can we put on your car for a second? Yeah. I got a stupid fan I had to put. It's amazing how being placed in the back of a squad car can pull some honesty out of dumb people. Fortunately for Mo'Nique, these officers are behaving professionally. She finally calms down, but then tries to pull on their heartstrings. Okay, I'm going to be honest you. [panting and sighs] I [gasps] got three kids, right, bro? And like I have I have like nothing like I I I can't I can't like I lost everything. You know what I'm saying? And I always trying to get something so I can make some money, you know what I'm saying? To pay my bills and stuff, my kids make I lost everything. So like it was kind of stuff. So what happened this morning then? [laughter] I'm I'm being real with you. I'm going tell you all the truth. When I when I went there, whatever you know saying like I was trying to find way so I can make some money. I'm saying and talking back get my kids stuff for Christmas and I have nothing. I have freaking I'm a single parent. You know what I'm saying? Like I myself sir I'm not a troublemaker. I don't get no trouble nothing. Like [laughter] I I know it's no excuse. I I I know it's not right. Her dyed hair, acrylic nails, and fancy jewelry tell a different story from the brokeown mom narrative she's spinning. Despite being cuffed and cornered, Mo'Nique just digs a deeper hole for herself. [music] Her guilt is clear and she's using a lot of words but not actually saying anything. However, she at least comes close to admitting her crimes. Oh, sorry. You thought were you going to resell the wigs? No, I'm going do it. I'll tell you what I'm going to do. Okay. I I I'm going to try to get some money for real quick. Where are the wigs in the house now? So we can at least get them back. I'm going to close this door. Where are the wigs now? No. No. Okay. But I'm asking you, sir. I'm asking you. Can I Can you please listen to me please? If I I know I know excuse, but can [laughter] if I can pay for those wigs right now my mom TOO MANY MONEY I CAN'T GO BACK. I know my kids. I apologize. That's about $1,800. I don't care. I don't care. I'll pay for it. Sir, I I'll get my dad pay for it right now. Sir, watch your foot for a second. I got my kids back, sir. Please, sir. Sir, please. Sir, please watch. Sir, please sir. I I want you to hear me. I want you to hear me. Watch your knee. I want you to hear me, sir. I pray. Sir. Sir. Sir, please. Sir, please. Sir, please. Sir, please. Please. Sir, please. Please. Please. Mo'nique might have snatched things, but she's not a total snitch. Despite eyewitnesses and surveillance footage, Mo'Nique contradicts her story yet again. So the police confront her with the truth while she's still acting a fool. All that's on video. I'm so sorry, sir. Please. I'm so sorry, sir. I mean, I'm getting in trouble. Made the decision. You got to I was just saying you right, sir. I'm not saying you wrong. Why don't you hear me like you knew me as a person? What's his name? Who's in there? That that's her people. He was just just driving me. I don't know my name and all. But um I I call they call Marcus. Call him call Marcus. I'm real. I'm not lie to you. I I heard I heard her call him Marcus. Sir, heard. Yes, sir. Her confession and her family's cooperation led the cops straight to the stolen goods. Luckily for this Florida store, these officers are good at their jobs. The employees vigilance and attention to detail also paid off and helped the cops solve the crime. She had taken her hair off and was making it hard to to spot her. Spot her. So, I was looking and she denied. She said it wasn't her. It was a family. And I'm looking and I What gave it away was her uh was the earring. She still had the big hoops on and her nails. And her nails. Yeah. So, okay. As soon as as soon as we try to as soon as I spot her cuz she kept keeping her hands in her pocket. As soon as I saw the nails and try to grab her, she tried to run inside the house and then fought us into the house. Yeah. The [snorts] mix of shock and joy on Miss G's face is what you get when cops do a good job of catching stupid criminals. Mo'Nique somehow thought that she could hide that neon pink hair and bright nails when the cops knocked on her door. Mo'Nique was charged with resisting arrest and theft. On September 2nd, 2023, University of Dayton police were called to investigate Grand Theft Auto at 2:00 in the morning. But what they didn't expect was some interference from some drunk college students who live there. The first indication that emotions were running high was the honest mistake of the aggressive officers. Apparently, there have been a lot of shouting coming from the building. Hi. Hi. I need your guys' IDs, please. You're going to be issued referrals. Okay. Don't shut the door. Do not shut the door. Get your ID now. Okay. and all your roommates. Have them come down here, please. I I don't I don't know the girls that live upstairs. Get the girl. What do you mean? They're That's a different house. That's not you? No. I'm so sorry for bothering you then. No, it's okay. That's just not us. How do you get to their house? It's that door right there. I am very sorry. That's okay. I was just like really confused because I'm sleep. Well, their windows are right above yours, so we assumed it was 22. No, 22. That's 20. It's 20. Okay. So, they're upstairs. You're downstairs. Good to know. I apologize. I guess as far as addresses go, it's easy to make a mistake like that. Officer Oldm's instant shift to an apologetic tone tells us she's itching to get something done. Things escalate when Officer Pulling proceeds. There they come. Hello. Hi. Hi. Need your IDs. Our um student IDs. Ask for why you're being referred student IDs right now. Can I just ask? Give me your student ID. I think I have the right to ask why. Okay, so now you're gonna get another referral for not for non-compliance. I'm sorry. It's non-compliant. I'm just asking why. You guys want to sit up there and yell stupid and raise all kinds of issues with us while we're trying to do work and interfere with our scene. Doing that? Yes, you absolutely are. It's all on my camera. Give me your ID immediately. ID immediately. Get your roommates. I need their IDs as well. Okay. No, you're not shutting your door. Get your ID now. I have the right. Get your ID now. I don't feel comfortable with you opening my door. I'm not opening your door. I'm holding it open. Get your ID. Okay. These officers don't seem happy to be here, and they're eager to hand out some well-deserved referrals. No one appreciates being shouted at while doing their job, and it's a stupid thing to do to police officers, or to anyone for that matter. Do you know why we're talking to you? I do not I have no clue what's everything was everything that you guys were up there yelling at us is on our body cams. So every time we turned around we could see your faces. So everything that was going on is on camera. We've just been confused why No, you're not confused. 12 and all that. That's being confused. I think as you play telling us we have too many cop cars telling us that we're in the way of your pizza. We don't need three cops for one kid. I've just been You've been up there talking is what you've been doing. So, here's my deal. And now it's not fun for you no more. Sure. It'll be real fun for you Monday morning. I have my paper one. Is this my What was the one I seen in the front right there? Is that your fake one or something? Yours is mine. No. No. What's the one up front? The fake one? What's that one? This is mine. No. What? What's right there? This is mine right here. Okay. So, now we're going to play that game, too. How old are you? [snorts] ID. You're 20. And you're drunk, huh? Cool. I can smell the alcohol on you. Give me your ID. Give me your ID or turn around and you're under arrest for underage consumption. State ID now. Give me the fake. This is mine. The fake ID that we saw that's on camera. You really want to go to jail over a fake ID? I do not give it. We have to give it to you in that. I will if Looks like these students need some lessons in proper conduct and common sense. They've drawn attention to themselves while engaged in illegal acts. And one of the students is carrying a fake ID. Her friends Lauren and Vince then show up and just make things worse. At first, they reluctantly obey orders to walk away. But then Vince, who must be unhinged, walks back. Actually, I want I actually WANT YOU TO KNOW WHAT what are you talking about? I actually want to know what the rice you're talking about. I actually want to know. This isn't nothing. It doesn't matter. I want you What? What's the rice talking about? Where's your student? Are you a student here? It doesn't matter. What the matter? No. No, it doesn't matter. What the you talking about her right now? I don't care. Don't stop. Please. You're going to make it worse. They don't like this. They don't like it. They don't right now. What the Give me right now. Turn around. Turn around. Oh my god. Stop right now. STOP. GIVE ME THE RIGHT. Give me your rights. Give me your rights right now. YOUR RIGHTS RIGHT NOW. YOU abuse your palace right now. I have rights. I know YOUR RIGHTS. And things don't stop there. The backup arrives just in time for both students to be subdued, though the blonde student was just in the way. Vince's stupidity knows no bounds. He's lucky all he got was pepper spray because after what he [music] did, the cops were ready for a fight. You and I assault me, you piece of No, you kill me. A piece of Jesus Christ, man. Back here. Oh my god. You good? Come on. We got pepper spray everywhere. Okay. Come on. Get the up. I'm not doing I'm not doing the crying blonde student gets escorted off scene and Vince keeps acting like a complete idiot. His tone changes, however, after being manhandled and faceplanted by four officers. As it turns out, he was acting stupid well before cops arrived. I can't open my head. I know that. I'm trying to wipe the pepper spray off your face. Put your head back. I'm playing. I I just want I don't want to do this anymore. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. That's a little too late for that. So, why don't you just stop talking? Okay. I'm sorry. This is really freaking me out. Like, I'm like I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm like I'm really scared right now. I just don't know why he has four IDs. I'm really scared right now. This doesn't matter. Like, I'm scared. Your name's Vince. No, it's not. You are no longer a student here probably after. Vince keeps pleading with yet insulting the cops while they inspect him for injuries. EMTs arrive and clean his face with saline and wipes. It takes over half an hour to get it done due to Vince's whining. The blonde students been uncuffed and receives [music] a debriefing after she finally started using her brain. All right, so here's what's going to happen. All right, is that you're going to get the referral through the university like we talked about. Originally, we were going to do criminal charges. I'm not sure what that's looking at right now with the underage consumption. All right, I don't understand why your friend didn't listen to you, okay, about going inside. So, it was not up to me. Yeah, I understand that and I don't fault you at all for his actions. So, yeah. All right. Is he What's What's He's going to jail. He attacked two police officers. He's absolutely going to jail. Vince was transported to Montgomery County Jail. 3 days later, he was charged with three felony counts of assault on a police officer and then released. His foolishness caused a criminal case to be opened following a permanent disbarring from all University of Dayton property. What do you think he'll do when he realizes that he's jeopardized his future with dumb behavior like this? On March 9th, 2024 in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, 31-year-old Travis decided to add more charges to his long history of criminal owis dating back to 2016. After police tried a traffic stop due to a faulty light on his vehicle, this fool speeds away and haphazardly pulls into his own apartment complex. Get over here. PLEASE STOP. 907 foot pursuit. Get on the ground. 907 want to take off. Put me on foot. Just jump the fence. Ran west or east towards the river. 907. I lost him. Last seen eastbound towards the river. Look like a male jeans. Maybe camo jacket. Got a plate for you. It doesn't take long for the police's search to yield some results after backup arrives. Hiding from a police chase in your own home is about as dumb as drinking and driving. And now several officers are on the case. He lives here. He might have. So he hopped this fence right here. I got his phone and his hat must have fell off. I'm guessing he ran around the back and went inside. got a headlight out and then he quick whipped in here. I knew he was probably going to run as soon as I got out. I couldn't see him cuz he was like where he whipped right into that spot right there. And then I saw him just running this way. I don't know how he got over that. I couldn't. We'll try his door here. I think I got a key for it. Take off that way. He lives here though. Is there a back door to this or is this the only one? No, there's a back door, too. There we go. I got the keys. That's front. Yeah, look like you saw us. Come here, Travis. Come here. Show me your hands. I can see you. Show me your hands, Travis. I can see you right now. What are you doing? What are you doing? Step back. Put your hands up. Let me see your other hand. Take your hand out of your pocket. Turn around. Turn around. Turn around. Get on your knees. Put your hands on top of your head. Put your hands on top of your head. We already know he's a fool, but now he's trying to pretend to be one, too. You might be thinking that he wet himself out of fear, but that kind of incontinence is consistent with intoxication. The cops can smell it on him and see plenty of other physical evidence proving his lie. You need your glasses to see. Hey, you need any medical attention? What's going on? You ran from me. No, I didn't. You hopped the fence. Look at your knees, man. Your shirt's torn. All over you. Your shirt's torn. Your wrists are all bloody. You ran from me. I got your hat and your phone. Okay. So, you're going to tell me you didn't run from me? No, I I stand up. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. I What's going on? Stand up. Stand up. Two. I have no idea what's going on. You're under arrest for running from me. I didn't do nothing. Yeah, you did. No, I didn't. Okay. So, that's not your phone. No. So, if I Where's Where is your phone? I have my phone upstairs. Oh, you got the keys on you for the car. Subaru. Yep. That's fine. Unlock it quick. Hey, no, you don't need to touch my key now. Unlock it quick. Your keys are under arrest. It's our property. Hey, what are you doing? All right, let's go. We're going to go sit in my car. What's going on? You're going You're going to jail for what? For running. I didn't do nothing. Yes, you did. Lock. I didn't do nothing. What's going on? Stand up. Well, I didn't do nothing. Yeah, you're going to jail. For what? For resisting right now. Throw it up like that. So far, Travis's denial makes it clear that he knows how much trouble he's in. Even with evidence all over his body and a trail of items behind him, he continues making up stories while in custody. That's my car. Yeah, I wasn't driving it. I did not drive my car tonight. So, there's another Buffalo Bills fan running around here driving your car. No, I'm the only Buffalo Bills fan in the passenger seat. Okay. That's why there was nobody else in the car but you. Oh, there was. No, there wasn't. Yeah, there was. No, there wasn't. Well, you'll have to see the tape. I got you. You You have video tape, right? Sure do. Sure do. All right, perfect. And I'll get video from the apartment building, too. Okay, fine. I ain't going to sit here and argue with you, brother. It is what it is. No, I I I do what I do. You made a mistake. Live with it. Regardless of Travis's honesty, the cops need probable calls and to know the extent of his intoxication so that their evidence is airtight and unchallengeable. His reluctant agreement to this might save him a possible blood test later down the line. Are you going to do it or not? I can do this test, but it's not going to prove anything like I'm wrong. Last chance. You going to do it or not? Yes or no? Roger. Okay. Keep looking. Keep looking. You got to look at my finger. Keep looking. You got You got to look at my finger. So, what I want you to do while you're walking, count your steps out loud. One through nine. Keep your arms down to your side and do not stop the test until you think you've completed it. Does all that make sense to you? Yes, it does. Okay. Heel to toe. Nope. Nope. You You're flip-flopped. No, you're not. Never mind. I was flip-flopped. Left foot on the line. Right foot in front. Arms on your side. Don't do that to me. Come on. Really? Right foot. Right foot. Heel to toe. Okay. But come on. I'm not going to do that right now. You need to do the test, dude. That's Well, you give me your own test. Right foot. Okay. Are you going to be willing to submit to a PBT for me? My glasses back or I'm drunk, but why why do I need to do that? Yes or no? Doesn't have any. I don't want to. No. Okay. I mean, I I I've been drinking all night. Turn around. Put your head back behind your back. For what? Okay. You're under arrest. For what? For resistance. For what? Own resisting arrest. Travis isn't letting his story go, despite the mountain of evidence against him. His initial cooperation after the arrest doesn't mean much if he can't take the test seriously. Travis is taken to jail and just keeps adding more contradictions to his own story. I jumped defense, but I started doing laundry. That makes sense. That's usually what I do. I didn't drive my car. It's just silly. I I just Can you just not Let's just not All right. If you're if you're going to just keep saying the same thing over and over again, just just let's just I'm going to hold my story, man. Like I I like I said, I don't want to argue with you, Travis. No, I like cops. I like police. Hey, there was mistakes made tonight, obviously. And we're No, I wasn't I didn't make a mistake. There's a I got a headlight out in my car. Did you notice that I have a headlight? Yeah, I did. That's why I tried to stop you. Yeah, I do think I would. And then you ran away from the driver's seat. I watched you from the driver. You think I'm blind? I've been very cooperative with you and I know there's video cameras in this car right now that are recording me and I know my attorney will listen to to this. Can I please have a supervisor? Do not have a supervisor that is working. Like I said, man, I ain't going to argue with you. There's only one person that ran. It was you. I saw you. I was right behind you. You didn't even get over the fence by the time I got over there. Hey, man. Alls I'm going to say is it does no good to anyone at this point to try to feed me full of lies. I'm not I'm not feeding you. You weren't driving that there was some another imaginary person there. There wasn't. It is what it is at the end of the day. All right. Sometimes you just got to man up and just take responsibility for your action. Travis was charged with three crimes. This one was his fourth operating while intoxicated charge. His first operating with prohibited alcohol content. And he was also charged with obstruction of an officer. All this stupidity cost Travis $1,000 in bail and $400 in citations. What do you think? Could his dumb mistakes cost someone their life? On December 11th, 2023, a 43-year-old woman called police after her daughter's phone went missing at Rockaway Mall in Hopetkong, New Jersey. She provided GPS data. Then at 10:07 in the morning, officers followed the phone's tracker to a home owned by 58-year-old Colleen. I'm patrollman Feeling Hope Police Department. Just so you know, my body cam is on. Sorry. That's okay. I'm patrolling Fagan. Just so you know, my body cam is on. Okay. Okay. There was uh last night there was an iPhone that was found that to this location. I don't know if somebody had it or found it while they were at the mall. It's pink to this house. And I Nobody's been out here. Was somebody at the mall yesterday? Kids or anything like that? No. My son's girlfriend works at the mall. Is it [music] possible that maybe she found it and it's here? I didn't find a cell phone on the wall last night. She didn't find anything. She didn't find a phone. So, yeah, the report we got was that the phone p the phone pinged at this location. So, do me a favor. If if it happens to turn up, just just drop it off at the police station. Yeah, it's an iPhone. It's not. Yeah, we weren't out any We were at my mother's all day yesterday, so I don't I don't have it. Patrolman Jacob and Fagan departed. But at 9:45 later that morning, they returned to the address after confirming with the iPhone's owner that it was definitely there. Colleen wasn't home, so they came by a third time at 1:30 in the afternoon. Eventually making contact with Colleen through the woman's security system. So listen, right now it's a lost phone and the people just want it back. The only other option understand I don't I wasn't even at the mall. We don't have the phone. So you you told us when we were here earlier that there's someone in the house who works at the mall. Correct. That's correct. Yes. Okay. So that that to me makes makes sense that she was at the mall as well as where the phone was lost. Okay. And and the phone showed last night that it was still at the mall at a time when only employees would have been there. So So this is going to leave us two options. we have to call a judge and we will get a search warrant for the house and then there's going to be criminal charges or we get the phone back and it's just a a lost phone that got returned and maybe somebody made a mistake. So, I suggest you have whatever phone calls you need to make and then contact the police station because the next time we come back, it's going to be with a search warrant to search this house. Do you understand? Okay. Well, I have no way to reach her at the moment I'm at work. It turns out Victoria is not the only one with a secret. The next day, after confirming Shannon's location, the cops returned to Colleen's home to quietly escort a guilty looking Shannon after Sergeant Kern found the phone. Do you have anything in your pockets or anything? What do you Let me just check your pockets real quick. Make sure you grab a seat here. Thank you. Stupid and annoying, but okay. So obviously we found the phone. Okay. Um explain to me how how the phone and you were involved and how everything transpired. In her testimony, Shannon shares her shady account of the events leading up to the theft and she implicates her manager Ellie while trying to score sympathy points in the process. Backtory. Last 5 years I haven't had a steady home. This is my first time I've had a steady home. That affects me heavily. like so much like it bothers me to know Max she lives on her own whatever she has her own thing sorry just that had to happen so basically she told me that she was going to um put like the whole like if I didn't do something with the phone so then she was like get rid of it cuz she told she lied to me and I knew she lied to me cuz I was talking to my boyfriend and his mom about it and me like not thinking about it she hands you the phone she tells you to get rid of it what happens I literally just went in the bathroom and I was like, "Sam, like this is not fair to me." I was like, "You need to like take care of something, like do something." And I told her to call you guys, too. Because as soon as my boyfriend said, "Call them, talk to them, see what they have to say," I was like, "Okay, I will." And that's what I did immediately. The other interrogating officer doesn't buy it. At this point, Apatong police have already done the leg work and found enough evidence to implicate Shannon. I'm going to tell you right now, I've been a police officer 21 years. You're lying to me. you told lies in this and this is all going to be easier because then at least in our report we could write upon confronted with the facts Shannon was honest because in the story you just told us Ellie had the phone you have to take responsibility for what you did I am okay because the fact is that phone was at your house overnight okay and Sam wasn't there and at 7:30 in the morning when officer Jacob knocked on your door and says there's a phone here. Oh, there's no phone here. We don't have a phone. I feel sympathetic. I don't know your whole life story and obviously you've had a hard life and maybe everything hasn't been fair, but you have to be honest about this. Okay. So, the cops ask about her intentions and it becomes clear that she'd never intended to cooperate with them until now. She's spinning a grand story, but they pinned everything on her and just wants some honesty. You took the phone on your own because Ellie told you to. Yeah. Sam never told you to take the phone. No. Okay. these girls. Did Sam tell you to go throw the phone in the garbage can? No. Okay. So, you did everything, right? You did everything. Yeah. They wanted me to get rid of the phone between all these. But you But but do you understand what you just said? What you just said to us 5 minutes ago? Sam was going to get arrested and charged. No, she was she was she was going to get arrested and charged. The swear you just told us was just false. So, this is what's going to happen. You're under arrest right now. Okay. We're going to go back there. We're going to process you. Um, the prosecutor's office wants us to attempt to call Ellie and find out if Ellie's a real person. Shannon's plan becomes a little more clear when she asked that question. Her back and forth between emotions during this interrogation only serve to make her seem more manipulating. It was dumb of her to lie and even dumber to try and shift the blame. Even with everything out in the open, she still keeps up the act. Did Did any of these girls hold a gun to your head and say they were going to threaten you with violence if you didn't do do this? No, they threatened me that I was going to lose my job. If you didn't take the phone. Yeah. How they didn't How are you How are you going to lose your job for taking a phone that was found right and was left in the back? They were going to write me up for what? I don't know. They said that they were just going to write me up. This was This was Sam. Who? Well, that was going to write you up. No. All these girls. All these They're not your manager though, right? No. They have the power to do that. They could report. Okay. Okay. Sh. You're going to have to have a deep look inside yourself about truthtelling because basically by 10:00 in the morning yesterday, we knew you had the phone. We knew you were lying to us and you had how many opportunities to stop and you're continuing to do it here. You're trying to I I I don't know what your past life has been. Okay, I'm sorry if it's been bad and unfair, but minimizing your involvement and trying to blame everybody else or have to not take responsibility for what you did here is not helping. I am taking responsibility. Okay, I really am though. Okay. Shannon was processed and given a court summon then taken home. She was charged with receiving stolen property, obstruction, and providing false information. Her unfair past proved to be multiple DWIs and shoplifting for which she was previously charged and fined. With a history like hers, what do you think she'll do next? On March 26th, 2024, patrolman Trans responded to a shoplifting report in Lacy Township, New Jersey. The Shopright loss prevention officer followed Danielle, the shoplifter, and tracked her car after she stole over $200 worth of items. Many stupid criminals forget that cameras exist now, making it simple to track down shoplifterss, especially with police cooperation. But I do have a license plate for you. Beautiful. So, I gave you two photos of the suspect so compare. And this is the vehicle. These cameras are awesome. Mhm. Yeah. We just got them recently and I'm loving them. So, I'll show you these. You have uh footage of her entering that vehicle? Yep. I have video of her actually physically entering it and the vehicle pulling out of the parking lot as well. This video here is going to physically show her coming from aisle 7, walking up with the item, walking to courtesy, returning the item, and then going to selfch checkckout. So, the total of unpaid goods, the total of unpaid goods is 22702, and that is pre-tax. The total unpaid goods is 182. Oh, yeah. 183. The returned is 44, not correct. With cameras like those, they could probably spot what they stole from a mile away. The loss prevention officer provided a CD of the evidence, giving Officer Trans a trail to Danielle's home. The officers asked her if she'd been to the store recently before Miranda her. But yes, I was there yesterday. Okay. Uh, do you want to step outside to talk? I I don't know. I'm a little nervous cuz I don't I've just heard that it's better to talk from inside. Like I All right. Well, um, I'm going to read this to you really quick. Okay. All right. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say. Wait, I'm under arrest for what? You said you're under arrest. He's reading you your rights. Oh, I thought that's what that means. When you read your rights, having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to me? Um, yes, I do. I don't have anything to Okay. So, what cuz I'm confused as to why Shopright has to do with anything. Okay. So, then when you went to Shopright, you didn't end up like not purchasing anything. Everything you purchase or everything you had in your cart, you purchased. Yeah. I all I got I think all I got was I just put it away was a a brownie kit and bagels. That's all I got. Okay. And then did you happen to go and get uh an item and then [music] return it without purchasing it? No, sir. Okay. All right. Well, do you mind stepping out and talking to us now? No. Okay. Okay. Well, do you want to respond to to headquarters for me? Uh, sure. What What do I do there? Uh, so you're going to be placed under arrest for what, though? I didn't for shoplifting. But I didn't shoplift. I wasn't even there today. What's What's your first name again, man? Danielle. Daniel. All right, Danielle, step outside the house. No, I'm going to meet you there, but sir, please. That's not how it works. You're under arrest. I I Wait, I didn't do anything, though. Danielle, I would like Okay, you said that I could call my lawyer. I'd like to call my lawyer, but I will come there. You said you just said I could talk to your lawyer afterward. You just said I could meet you there. Yes, but now you're going to be placed under arrest. Those waterworks are not going to hold up in court, and neither will her testimony. Her face was on that security footage clear as day. The officers wait for a while for her and patrol the home to ensure she doesn't make an escape. From inside, we hear Shannon talking to her husband on the phone. Then she finally opens the door. He said, he said, "Your wife's BEING READY FOR SHOPPING." THEY call him call you when it's done. Step out of the house. Can I take one hand, please? It's just a beep. It's not It's not just regular beep. You have anything else on you? Oh, I'm so sorry. I did not mean to do that. Can I lock Can you lock that, please? If you press the top button, press all the way on the top. All right, babe. Push that. Step down one. No, no. Hands behind your back, please. And then just turn the Can we Is there any way we could do this in the car? Like, I'm not like you. Oh my god. I'm not running from you. Yeah, just turn it. The top part. Yeah, the like the Yeah, turn to the left. Can Oh, yeah. Like if you press that button and then turn it to the left. Did it go all the way though? Okay. Thank you. It went from spinning. Can you grab my phone, please? One, two, I'm sorry. I thought I'm sorry. I thought he said keep I'm really nervous. I've never been arrested before. Like, I'm really nervous. And she definitely should be. Dumb criminals have a lot to worry about when all their stupidity is caught on camera. It's not every day you get such a cooperative thief. It's a little suspicious that her husband didn't sound surprised. And I wonder if he's abetting her crimes, but for now, the cops are only on Danielle's case. Have you been arrested before? No. I I had a DUI 5 years ago. Okay. Do you think I've ever been arrested before? Do you have any warrants that you're aware of? No, sir. All right. So, if that's the case, then you're most likely going to be cut out on a summon. So once we're done fingerprinting and processing you, we're going to hand you a piece of paper and say have a good day. Unless you have a warrant and you have no criminal history, then that's fine. You're going to be headed to the summit. After a quick processing, Danielle is transported back home. As far as thieves go, her behavior is not normal. She might be dumb for stealing, but she hasn't forgotten her manners, and that goes a long way with police officers. Thank you again for the ride. You're very welcome, man. For giving me more paperwork. It's okay, ma'am. 109 end mileage 88562. What's that? I have to get out and over the door. All right. I wasn't sure if the door would open by itself. [laughter] I figured probably not. Yeah. Not very good cop car. Yeah, that's what I figured. I was like, idiot. I think it would never be able to do that. All right. So, here is your copy of the summons. I explained that to you earlier. Yes. And then here is your cell phone. Thank you. Do you have any questions, man? No, I don't. Thank you. I'm sorry again. Thank you. It's okay, man. You have a good day. You, too, man. Now, Danielle has a shoplifting charge and a theft by deception charge. Her court appearance happened soon afterward. Fortunately, no warrants are out for her arrest, so she obeyed the law after getting caught. But what do you think happens when you miss court? Well, let's find out. On the 5th of January 2024, a woman named Mariah opened her door for two police officers who had a warrant for her arrest. This dumb criminal missed court for damage to property, and these are the predictable consequences. It takes a lot of guts or a lot of ignorance to miss a court date. She acts confused at first, then decides to get defensive, but these level-headed cops are determined. Well, you didn't do what you were supposed to do then, but you have a warrant. I didn't have court, though. Come on. Okay. Wait. Come on. Let me get some Let me get some shoes to wear. Look. Stop. Why you grabbing me? Why you going back? Can I get some shoes? Did you do that last time? Okay, but you're not Why you got to grab me though? Because you're going back into an apartment that I don't know what's in here. Okay, there's nothing in here. LOOK, MY CLOTHES IS BACK THERE, G. FOR REAL. LIKE I I'm trying to cooperate, but you grabbing me and stuff. I don't like that. I don't like that. Is there anybody else here? Nobody else is here. Okay, we don't know that. Let me just go. CAN I JUST GO GET MY SHOES? I don't need y'all to grab me or none of that for real. Well, right now, look, don't touch me. Don't touch me. I just said nobody else in the apartment. Let me go get my shoes. You have a warrant. Okay, let me go get some shoes AND A JACKET. NO. CAN I GET MY LOOK, don't touch me. Please don't touch me. You have a warrant. Please don't. Okay, I know I have a warrant. Let me go get some shoes and a coat. Put your hands behind your back. No. For what? Can I get some shoes? I'm not going to go outside with no socks. We already explained we will get you shoes. No. No. Let me. My stuff is right there. Come on. You can walk back with me. Okay. No, we're not doing that. You need to put your hands behind your back. I don't have on bra. I don't have on no shirt. I don't have on nothing. We will get you a coat and we will get you shoes. But right now, you're in custody for your warrant. Mariah doesn't seem to comprehend the gravity of the situation. The cops aren't here for a visit. They're here to do a job. Then Mariah starts heading towards the door, claiming she wants to close it. But these cops aren't fools. Let me close the door. Let me look. Stop grabbing me. STOP. STOP. STOP. STOP. STOP. STOP. STOP. COME ON. I'M TRYING TO CLOSE the door because y'all not let me get no shoes. I already stop. Stop. Listen. Stop. Let me go. No. Let me go. Cuz y'all grabbing me. Stop. Let me go. Let me go. Let me go. Let me go. Why are you acting like that? Because you're not. I just told you it's a notice to appear warrant. You're down. YOU DON'T EVEN OKAY, BUT YOU TRYING TO PUT ME IN CUPS AND I'M TRYING TO GET A JACKET and shoes. I already explained that to you. We will do that. Didn't I do that for you last time? No, you you didn't put me in cups first. You left. NO, YOU DIDN'T. YOU LET ME GET MY STUFF. Doesn't matter. It don't matter. Let me close the door cuz I'm not trying to make a scene. You're already making a scene. Close the door though. Mariah's been down this indignant road before. Having cops here a second time is embarrassing enough. Not to mention the scene she's causing now with her non-compliance. Let me go so I can get my things. Sit up. Sit up. Can you let my hands go? We're gonna sit you up with my hands. We're gonna do it with you. No. Let my hands go. Let my hand making this difficult. Mariah. No, because y'all blowing me. You're not listening to what I'm saying. Like I'll cooperate. I'm not a violent person. You're not listening to me. But y'all GRABBING ME. NO. Y'ALL GRABBING ME THOUGH. YOU'RE NOT LISTENING TO US. Y GRABBING ME THOUGH. Let me go. Just let me go. Stop. That cuff's just too tight. Well, that's because you're Stop. STOP. [screaming] Get off me. PUT YOUR HAND BACK. I CAN'T. YOU'RE GRABBING ME. Put your hand behind your back. Let me go. Get off OF ME. I CAN'T BREATHE. I CAN'T BREATHE. You're talking just fine. Roll over on your stomach. Out, Mariah. A don't make this any worse than it is. The cuffs is too tight. I got to fix it. OKAY, GET OFF ME, THOUGH. I got to All right. Behind your back. First, there was the shoe problem. Then, the cuffs were too tight. Turns out Mariah here isn't too bright. Her dramatics have made this arrest much worse than it needed to be. So, the cops need to carry her out like a spled turkey. We're just going to go downstairs this way. No, I mean, it's it's cold as outside. WHAT ARE Y'ALL DOING? MAKING THIS DECISION. WE'RE giving you a chance. Do you want shoes or not? Huh? Come on, Mariah. You don't have to be like this. All you had to do was go in handcuffs and you could have got your stuff. Didn't you tell us earlier you didn't want to make a scene? Well, this is what you're doing. No, I'm [clears throat] not. Y'all using excessive force for no reason. Can you let me go? I'm leaning up against the wall. Okay. If you're just going to lean up against the wall, that's fine. Okay. I just don't touch me. Don't touch me. That's not how this is going to work because you are going to work. Now, go change my shirt and get a a coat. We're not doing that. We'll get you a coat. Where's your coat at? But you can tell us where it is. I'll get it. I'm more than willing to fix your handcuffs so they're fit properly. But you've got to cooperate so I can do that. If these shoes don't work, which ones do you want? The purple ones? I have on these big socks. My feet not going to fit in there. That's what I'm trying to tell you. Do you want the other Crocs? No, it's not going to fit. I HAVE THESE BIG FUZZY SOCKS. THEY DON'T FIT IN THAT. You would come in here using an accessory for I said I'll cooperate. Let me go change my stuff. That's not how that works. THAT IS HOW IT WORK. IF I'M TELLING YOU I'M TRYING TO COOPERATE. NO. NO, it is. No. Then you come in here and use excessive force for no reason. You said that if if you'd like to file a complaint with the Bloomington Police Department, you can do that. Stop talking to me. Stop talking to me. All right, then. Let's go. Okay, I can get up myself. Don't touch me. All right, then walk. Stand up. We'll let you walk down by yourself if you're if you're cool. These too tight. I would love to fix it. My sock. Just got to hold my sock. Do you have keys anywhere so I CAN APARTMENT? NO. NO, I DON'T. OKAY, WE'LL let you get up and walk downstairs. It's arrogant and pretty dumb to tell the cops how to do their jobs. Mariah's insistence to change her clothes means she also wants the cuffs off, but these cops aren't falling for it. Then they have to drag her down the stairs without her help. And then this happens. You let me go. I can walk on my own. Not after the way you just acted. Stop grabbing me like that. All right. Take a seat. Okay, I can get in myself. All right, hang on. Would you like me to fix your hands? No. Leave me alone. I'm more than willing to fix them before you're transported if you would like it fixed. Would you like them fix? All right. Watch your elbow, please. The more you move, the harder it is to fix it. Okay. But he still got the cuff tight on my right hand. It's too tight. Let him do what he needs to do, bro. Just shut up. Nobody talking to you for real cuz y'all just did too much. You I expect somebody to cooperate. You not even listen to them. That don't even make sense. The cuff is tight. I can't turn my red. I'm working on it. I'm working on it. Okay. Can you fix the right hand? All right. That is not too tight. That is How you Do you have the cuffs on you? How you going to tell me something too tight? Supposed to be like this. Okay. It's hurting my hand. All right. I can fit more than two fingers in both of these. No, you can't. All right. Well, bro, just close the door. You're too cold. These officers probably weren't expecting to be on babysitting duty today. She probably won't win an Oscar for the performance, but she might get another charge. Now, let's see if she can make this situation any worse. So, at this point now, you're here process. Just come on. Let me Can you turn around and look at me, please? No, just come on. So, we You know what? We're not going to continue and you can sit here for 3 hours until we go through this process. Okay. You need to comply. You don't talk to me like that. I'm I'm trying to make it so you understand what I'm saying. I appreciate the fact you're looking at me now so I can know that you're acknowledging. I know the process. Come on. I need y'all talking to me crazy for real. No, I don't need you talking crazy cuz like I said I can go back out. You can wait for a while. Okay, bro. Just come on. This is [clears throat] I have pajamas. I have a shirt with no bra. What? What the do I have on? What? What do I have? I don't have any. You tell me. You tell me. What do I have? These pajamas and a shirt with no bra. Okay. I don't know. You can have something in your I DON'T HAVE IN MY HOUSE. Talk to me cuz I'm right here. I don't know. We got a process. We do. So, I'm going to do my job. Just come on. Just take these cups off. Okay. Tell you what. Let's see if we can do this quietly. And you don't even have to talk. I'm going to pat you down. I'll let you know what I'm doing. Okay. I'll just talk if I want to. I No, you don't have to sh No, you won't. Come on. Quit putting Okay. You pulling my hand down. Show my underwear. It's a man right here. Okay. You have some respect. It's always the uncooperative criminals that demand respect without giving any in return. Mariah's clearly been here before and keeps acting a fool and making the officer's jobs more difficult. The female officer isn't taking any of her disrespect. You're going to take your socks off. You're going to take all your piercings out. You're going to get scanned. You're going to get your picture taken and you'll be out the door probably in a HALF AN HOUR. YOU WANT TO GO SIT IN THE CELL? We can do that. You ask me why I'm not putting my feet on this bare floor. I didn't take my socks off last time. Well, I don't care. You're taking your socks off. You're taking your socks off. You're taking your jewelry out. If you DON'T WANT TO COMPLY, my nose can't come out. Well, yeah, it does. All No, they don't. They going to take off. Go ahead. See if we can get a stop ready. Why not take I want to put my feet on this bare floor. Well, I told you once we get you in there. WHY DO YOU WANT TO HAVE STILL you still got the coach on me? I know. You're not complying. So, I'm going to take cuz I ASKED YOU TO TAKE THESE OFF. OKAY. Where are you at? You're in jail. You're not complying. You don't want to listen and follow rules. I don't know what you're going to be doing. So, at this point, you're going to go cuss on till you get to a room. Oh gosh. And then your socks are still going to come off. Just so you know. All I'm doing is asking you to follow sake off my socks and my hands are still in cuffs. I was going to take your cuffs off and you continue to tell me to take them off. What the tell me to take your socks off? You going to listen? You okay? Just take them off so I can take off my socks. I don't need to be here longer than I need to. No, that's what I was trying to tell you. I tried to help you get in and out of here. If she just took 2 seconds to listen to the cops, she'd be processed much faster. But Mariah's defiance unnecessarily draws out this situation. She was ultimately charged with resisting arrest. While missing a court date isn't always a crime, it usually grants officers a warrant to arrest you. Do you think this criminal got far more compassion than she deserved? Well, at least she wasn't violent, unlike our next criminal. On the 15th of April, 2023, two Southern Hills police officers in Illinois were investigating a crime. They randomly got interrupted by a 46-year-old woman named Stephanie Shingleton, who was hurling insults from her front door. Things quickly got heated after Stephanie started behaving erratically. What she didn't know was there was more than one officer around, and then she made a huge mistake. I'm investigating something else. I'm trying to go to the park. I'm just trying to go to the park. Look. What? Why? Why? Hey, you're under arrest. YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON GROUND NOW. DROP THE KNIFE. DON'T LET HER GET UP THERE. DON'T GET UP. GOING your hand BEHIND YOUR BACK RIGHT NOW. [screaming] Leave me alone. LEAVE [screaming] ME ALONE. LEAVE ME ALONE. LEAVE ME ALONE. LEAVE ME ALONE. [screaming] NO, YOU'RE RIGHT. [laughter] Give me your hand. My hand. My hand. [screaming] All of this like you get up. Get the off OF ME. Stop kicking me right now. Wow. Waving a knife and a baseball bat at a police officer is one of the dumbest things you can do. The officers had to disarm her as fast as possible and find out just what the heck was going on with this woman. But she doesn't make it easy. me. [screaming] Stand up playing with me more out of here. with me. That's a lie, dude. Oh, not anymore. You get the me like that. Get off of me. LET ME WALK. YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE THAT ON MY I CAN WALK. I WANT TO walk [snorts] out of here. Text me up. Make me I hope my kids die. Every one of them. Yeah. Even you. Even you. I hope you die. With such cruel language, the cops are looking at someone with potentially serious mental health problems or drug abuse issues. For the sake of her kids, I hope she gets the help she needs because this type of reaction is extremely abnormal. I haven't ate in two days. I know. We can talk to you after we get her secure. Okay. Haven't ate in two days. Are you the Are you the mother? Okay. They won't even give me back. No, you wanted to feed me. I can't breathe. Get off of me. Let me stand here. You are standing. Let me stand. I'm not going to move. Stand. But we're not letting go. I can't breathe. Mom, no. You guys are doing this. No, I'm not. Get the me tagging me like that. You stop man. Stop kicking me. I'm going to ground. You're going to go to the ground. Put me the ground and see what the Go back to your grave. I'd be cranky, too, if I was hungry, but not that cranky. Her mother seems mostly unsurprised by the situation. She kicked the officer again and then claims she hasn't eaten in two days. She continues her relentless insults after threatening to kill the officer. I don't care if I die right now without food. Get these puffs off me. No you. This is a game and you save me out of here. YOU RAN. I'M NOT a game. Oh, this is all RECORDED. YOU DUMB SON of the ground. On the ground. You're going to get me. I can't do nothing and you're touching me. You don't get up. You You're [ __ ] turn. No. You You don't tell me what to do. You ain't about worthless son of a for a father. That's all you are. a worthless father. You're a worthless tell you David Hill better not contact me because I'll tell you gonna go down. Ain't nothing gonna happen cuz I'll kill him myself. Sounds like Stephanie's making her relationship issues everyone else's problem. She goes on to mention more people she hates and vows to never speak to them again. The officers are hoping that she finally pipes down and we finally find out why she might be so hungry. Start me from two days a person. You stupid pregnant person. Damn. Is that what you do? You're really a man. Cuz I know that's you. Oh, you put your son out here, didn't you? Didn't you handle me like a man like that again? You're son of Feel the atmosphere. I need to stand up. I can't have a good time like it should be. Not going nowhere. Okay. Stand right there. I'm just going to stand up against the car. Make me do without food for two days to get. You can get the fire truck away from me, too. No, I I don't give a you wouldn't be doing You didn't have me in the constant. A crying face is sure to pull sympathy, but Stephanie's aggression is just getting warmed up. Don't feel sorry for her till you see what she pulls [music] next. After medics arrive out, they have to take the taser. You could have took them out yourself. Medical medical with him. Okay. You [ __ ] Fine. Hello. You got t in the back. I don't know where. Don't take me by ammo. Take me by the police car. He's not very cooperative. Where at on your back could they go? Oh, I see it still. It's still on. Still attached to the station. No, it's gone. Ripped off. You guys are full of game. Every one of you. You can go to hell. You'll think Tenny Hill. My name Hill is King. Get it right. divorce. What's your ID say, Stephanie? Is it hill or go to hell? All right. My kids can go to hell, too. Every one of you. Every one of you I hate. Her divorce a status doesn't surprise me. And her death wishes for everyone around her make it clear why she's in this situation. Her aggression just drags things out. And she continues pulling her weird stunts. Every one of my kids can go to hell. Handle me like a man again. And you [ __ ] Y'all should be ashamed to your [ __ ] Every one of you. Even my dad. I know you're my dad. You're probably my dad and I'll you up. Don't ever let this. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You're all my kids and my dad. That's all it is. It's okay. Yeah. Yeah. I bet you don't. This is all game. A game. A game. That's all it is. For your guys' movies. Make a movie off of me. How proud of you are yourself. None of you can speak for none of you can. You voiceless. Voiceless. Voiceless as a belt from Oh, there's one. there. Too bad it didn't hit that baby and kill it. Baby, what's your policy for like the tasers that she need to go to the hospital? No, we put the head on me. Get off my arm. Her mind is running wild and it's very clear now that she's not a very stable person. If she can't feed herself, I don't know how she'll take care of the baby she's claiming to be pregnant with. You might be thinking she's finally calmed down and then this happens. What day of the week is it? You you don't want to answer questions or ask? No, I don't. Yeah, you have to answer our question. No, I don't. Shut the dumb talk to me. You guys are real. Yeah. Okay. Well, if you don't for what? For what? Aggravated battery. No. Uhuh. Everybody can do what the I haven't ate for two days. I'm not going to jail. I'm not. Okay. Well, if you don't answer questions, then you have to go to the hospital cuz then it shows that you don't know. I know. I'm in Southern Hills. I'm right here at Southern Hills. What day of the week is it? I don't even know. I'm tired. What year is it? 20. I don't me right now. I'm just asking you simple questions. My heart's racing, too. My heart's racing.
