I'm not even doing anything I'm a basketball player all right come back here no I'm not coming stay in the car stop I'm coming I'm [Music] coming when we think about athletes we imagine them having chiseled bodies and unbreakable mindsets but athletes are just as human as we are and they make mistakes and that's especially true for college athletes they're under pressure to fit in try new things and have fun like the rest of the kids so it's no wonder they get into trouble too will this ruin their career forever let's find [Applause] out what's going on nothing man the what be quiet hello you got your driver's license registration I ain't got nothing what am I being pulled off I got mine okay you were doing 68 was okay I'm going to need your I'm going to need your driver's license you got to call somebody I was speed ma'am don't make this harder than what it has to be I wasn't speed bro you I got it on camera you come you came around me we we got everything on recording bro you came around me we we we we we on YouTube bro you okay I'm I'm going to need your driver's license man it's TZ that your driver's license yes it's mine I need her she's driving okay but I was driving too no you weren't ma' you're in the back seat we just switch seets okay any so I was driving we just s seats okay now this is some crazy Karen logic right here it's insane to think a cop will accept a driver's license from the passenger right yet this woman thinks it's the logical thing to do because they just switch seats I guess Anything could happen in la la land and when people living there suddenly appear in the real world that's when crazy things happen and this cop seems to know what time it is 39 Cal I'm going to need another unit yeah you are going to where's the gun at why is there a holster on the we we don't have a gun in car I want to know why the [ __ ] I was pulled up before he said we were doing 68 but you weren cuz I was speeding but I hopped in the back seat what did I say about things getting crazy a simple speeding ticket has now revealed there's a holster in the car with a gun missing and these two are acting very shady the driver can't remember why she was pulled over even though the cop already told her less than a minute ago and the passenger says she was speaking eating and she giggles suspiciously something's going on here and then the driver decides to call her coach hey yo I'm in a situation and uh police just pulled me over I was driving on the road he did a complete urn like he was like my car was identified in some pull me over and I was speeding ma'am I don't even know where I'm at I'm driving home ma' you have ma'am what's your name what's your name what's your name hour away in a minute I'm about to knock him out no just stop I'm about to knock him out cuz I I know I wasn't doing nothing wrong I know I was doing nothing wrong that's what I'm saying that's why I'm about to knock him out he something I don't deal with RAC he stop he just said stop yeah coach go ahead I got I got your speaker phone go ahead I don't care I'm at stop I don't give a I don't like rac's CS he a pig and he n boy that escalated quickly I mean that really got out of hand fast and the craziest thing is it escalated for no reason at all the officer's getting agitated and asked for backup to hurry up what's bugging him is probably that empty holster and the two women are getting more agitated by the minute let me let me tell you what's going to happen if you don't give me any ID what's going to happen is you're going to go to jail for obstruction of justice all right okay that's fine I'll go to jail I get a ler it's cool I'll go to jail all right I call you back can you stop bro stop Natasha can I see the radar because I feel like you're a liar no ma'am you cannot see the rad you're a liar you're a liar I'm not even doing anything I'm a basketball player stop I need to see proof of a radar that we was speeding well that blew my eardrums it just goes to show how unhinged Kens get when they're suddenly confronted with reality one of them keeps demanding things she has no right to demand and the other spirals into rage luckily the backup soon arrives and that means the extraction process can begin wonder how that'll go yeah let's I'm going to pull she's really really taking all right come back here no I'm not coming up stay in the car stop stop stop stop come back here got I'm coming I'm coming she didn't do nothing but listen I don't to me we didn't even do nothing okay now no it's not you're not under arrest right now okay I okay her basketball I got La listen listen to me listen you doesn't it seem odd that the loud one keeps saying she's a basketball player well as it turns out she's saying it to her girlfriend not the cop do you have anything on you no I don't it's going to stick me stab me poke me hurt me no guns I I want to call my lawyer that's it you can't call your lawyer right now that's fine I callater take me I'm a basketball player stop I'm going lose my scholarship I will mve my basketball com here stop shut the up shut up we will call a lawyer and they had no left up we will call a lawyer we will call a a lawyer we will call a lawyer we will call a lawyer stop how much you had to drink tonight nothing so that's why she's so loud she's afraid she'll lose her scholarship well I think if she'd only been more pleasant to the cop and didn't have that empty holster on the floor she might have only gotten a ticket but this kind of behavior might actually cost her her career and I need my my my wallet and my purse her purse where's that at in the car it doesn't matter let me get in the squad car you don't need to check me no more I ain't got no guns or nothing no me bro put me in the squad car you said I'm under arrest for speeding right you're under speeding yes you did put me in the squad Court put me in the squad bro I'm a basketball player you don't BR who you play for you bro okay is is this how you act is this how is this how a basketball player act in a squad car bro you be bro be I y'all pull me over some other put this car you bro bro you you my head back though you going B my head back put me this car put me in you have a lot of pockets Miss I got to make sure you ain't got nothing what you you myit stop bro what the making it worse than what it needs to be okay bro what the I BR I'm oh a lawyer I'm call a law bro take a seat call a lawyer bro take a seat call a lawyer bro take a seat bro now this is some shady Behavior if you ask me I think these girls may have something to hide the remaining question is how bad is it okay stopped him stopped him for 68 and a 55 I get up to the car and she who was in the driver seat was in the back seat the girl in the back of my car was was in the driver's seat I asked for a driver's license she said I ain't giving you I was doing 60 not 68 and I said okay I said this is what's going to happen if you don't give me your driver's license you're going to end up going to jail because I have no way of identifying you I said what's your name and she said I'm not giving you my name cuz I didn't do anything wrong and I said okay well there's a gun holster on the on the P driver passenger floorboard I don't see any weapon at this time but she I think she's really intoxicated okay oh so there's alcohol involved as well that actually makes sense because of how erratic the driver is no matter how many times the cop tries talking to her she just ends up screaming my coach said you'll have a speed radar where y'all can give tickets for speeding I want to see it I have a lawyer through the school a VSU I play division one basketball you're not about to do this to me cuz I ain't do wrong man listen bro it doesn't matter if you going to take me to jaal take me to deal I got a lawyer bro I got a lawyer bro she not g any information no she wants to see the the speed on the radar but we're not required to show that yeah where' you get 68 and I think they come they came from dinner I think um she's been drinking too oh she said yeah she said she was and she's definitely you can smell alol when if when you open up my back door now you can smell it in the back okay so we got speeding DUI possible resisting and then there's that empty holster issue it seems that the cops are on the same page though they think both girls need to be arrested if she wants to stick with the fact that she was driving conduct fsts okay cuz I can smell it coming off of her I can smell it coming off of her too so um if she wants to take back she was driving let her let her incriminate herself okay she got behind regardless she got behind the wheel was it running when you walked up to the car she got back in the wheel because she actually tried to get out of both of us I back in the car I had to keep I had to keep my knee ledged wedged up against the back door she Tri she said I'm going to beat this mother I'm going to beat this mother I hate racist mother oh go you I kind of like this cop he's been yelled at and insulted but he still keeps it cool and everything he told the other cops so far was true they learned the driver's name is shenise but they still don't know her last name or anything else so they keep trying shaes listen I think we got off on the wrong foot okay all right so listen listen you know you did me dirty bro you know you didn't clocked me the no 68 yes I did he was on the other side of the road he didn't clock me in you could how you couldn't clock somebody in while you driving I'm asking honestly how can you clock somebody listen but listen if you don't give me your name date of birth and social security number I'm going to what's going to happen is you're going to go to jail okay and you're going to sit in jail until they can you're not going to jail regardless you give me your name day I'm a basketball star you can look me up BSU sha you know my first name right you know my last name cuz I heard it over the scanner cuz I'm going to school for criminal justice okay you heard my last name you heard of my date of birth that's what it is what's your social I'm not telling you nothing else man you heard whatever you here they needed to heard bro but they didn't find you man they didn't find me bro I play for vs I'm a big one of the biggest basketball point guards in division one basketball right now if she's going to school for criminal justice she should have a better understanding of law enforcement than this the more a suspect fights and opposes the the officers the worse it gets we see it all the time after her girlfriend fails the field sobriety test the officers decide to tow their vehicle but first they searched it and found the gun that was missing from the holster and that's when the basketball player really lost it I don't P let me talk let me talk I talk I tell I tell you everything it's my gun I promise you I stole it back I just came back my brother's General somebody sto it Miss Von it's my gun Pro my gun let me explain to you you have the right to remain silent anything you said Can will be used against you in the court of law after the gun was discovered both young women were arrested Chenise VN the famous basketball player was charged with carrying a concealed weapon driving without a license and speeding her friend Natasha Bowman was hit with disorderly conduct and possession of a concealed weapon soon after the arrest chenice was removed from the VSU roster athletes should avoid drinking at all costs as we've seen with Miss it can prove to be detrimental to their careers the same thing happened to a female college volleyball player who was seen swerving on the road and hitting a curb this is the moment the officer pulled the vehicle over hello stops being recorded do you have your license yes I do okay hey so I saw some driving that was pretty concerning okay so we're just listening to music you hit the curb twice and then you cross over the center line okay so that's in that's concurrent with impairment okay so how much alcohol you had tonight I haven't had any okay we're just listening to music and I was just I'm sorry so crossover that's very dangerous driving like how much alcohol have you had tonight I haven't had any actually okay why can't they just admit it just own up to your mistakes pay the fine and learn not to repeat it it's a simple as that yet most people like to complicate things the officer tries to check her eyes and it just reaffirms his belief that she's drunk after he checks her info he proceeds with the field sobriety test hey Jasmine do you have a jacket that put on yes I want to talk to you back here okay all right so the driving I saw was very concerned like straight up okay I know I'm sorry so I'm trying to figure out what's going on so I mean do you smoke weed no no okay so what was the real reason that you'd hit the curb twice and went over the center line twice I we were just listening to music and we're just having fun I'm sorry okay so I would like to go through a set of voluntary tests with you and make sure you're okay to drive okay right the girl is adamant that she had no drugs or alcohol and that she was just driving her friend home and having fun so the cop goes through the standard motions the eye movement test the walk the line test the one-legged stand test and he even does the breathalyzer test all right deep breath in make seal your lips around it and blow blow go go go harder harder go go go go go go go stop all right you know what the legal limit in the state of Washington is 0.08 8 but how old are you n 20 I just turned 20 you just turned 20 okay so somebody who's under the year 21 years of [Music] age14 okay so someone who step talk 6 pbt1 140 so somebody who's under the age of 21 okay legal limit is .2 okay you were over that quite a bit even for the regular DUI okay so I don't understand why you didn't why you lied to me about not consuming any alcohol because I'm a student athlete here and I'm really F scared I was just trying to get me and my friend home okay well I you know I explained to you how dangerous the driving I saw was right I pulled you over on uh suspicion of DUI okay I mean I smelled it right I mean all this stuff adds up right okay so you're under arrest for DUI at this time okay so turn around put your hands behind your back okay it really is refreshing to occasionally see a normal person in these situations isn't it I mean she did try to wiggle her way out of the situation by lying but I think most of us would however at no point did she resist berate or insult the officer for just doing his job just good kind-hearted people getting caught making a mistake but Jasmine here made two mistakes that night and one of them could have cost her dearly okay do you have anything on you that's going to poke me stab me or kill me all right I'm going check your pockets okay so what do you do for WSU play volleyball you volleyball are you good what is this I got hurt this year I who this isn't this isn't my jacket it was just in the car whose jacket is this who one of the soccer girls I think I'm better like having so did you use that for a fake ID no no I used my actual ID to get in I didn't drink while I was at Timber okay so you drank before then yeah okay I thought I'd be fine but but as we learned she wasn't fine and might have created a huge mess by crashing and potentially hurting herself and others driving while Under the Influence was her first mistake but then she took a stranger's jacket that was a really dumb thing to do she couldn't know if there were or anything else dangerous in it luckily it was just an ID the cops called the owner and confirmed it was real all right so I'm going to have you take a seat in the car okay okay it's right there can you tell me where we're going we're going to go to the Home Police Department for to continue my investigation for the breath test okay okay I will explain everything as we go okay I promise um with a car who resp that's her car yeah okay do you have anything in that car that you want to go with you uh so you don't have your cell phone my phone okay do you have a wallet um no I didn't bring my wallet don't have a wallet okay you don't have anything else so just your phone all right I'm going to go get that okay okay the car belonged to the passenger who was also drunk then the cops decided to give her a ride too so what I need to do is pull your car off to the side and park it okay you can get in the car with me so get your stuff and then we'll secure the car and give the keys okay okay cool thank you that returned so it's good yeah it's it's the friends here's your friend's ID where do she want to ride to no I'll just give her a ride to the police station and then okay not in trouble okay I'm just getting cuz I'm transporting you I've been parking your car I've been taking your car to the polias station we are parking it at mobile we are parking it the gas station over there yes so what is your going to have my keys No we're going to give you your keys okay sorry what's your last name b a s h a m b a s h m first name k a r l y k a r l y l y middle name Rose r o e am I in trouble no what's your date of birth 40211 the two girls were then transported to the police department where Carly was let go but Jasmine was processed have you taken any TRS or medicines in the past 24 hours no all right prescriptions no non prescriptions all right C no never are you sure maybe a little bit okay don't know why but this reminded me of the interrogation scene in Scary Movie I know you've had a rough night Cindy so I won't keep you I just want you to look at some photos tell me what you think anyhow the cop probably had a hunch and Jasmine did admit to using earlier that day other than that she was fine were you driving the vehicle yes anything mechanically wrong with the vehicle yeah yeah the car is broken it is like this stabill track or something is even if I wasn't I'm going to incriminate myself but even if I hadn't drinking tonight the car is very it's we're trying to get it fixed oh we had a Chevy Blazer that was terrible too in colge all right uh have you been injured or involved in any pleasures of the [Music] all right have you had any alcohol drinks since being stopped so have I given you any no all right thank God I got to keep my job otherwise they would have fired me right now I should say oh my gosh I'm kidding I will get you fired I appreciate you you see guys it can all go down peacefully and without much fuss when there's mutual respect and actually Jasmine picked up on some really valuable tips from the cop that night can't sorry you put it in yourth is runny no my nose is just can I touch my shirt to my face CU my nose isun like close your mouth and then wipe your nose if you're going to all right can I ask what people put in their mouth to pennies Tic Tacs the darnest things cuz they've heard wives tals that they will beat the test oh and all it does is messed up at the inro he believe people Penny oh yeah and then it makes my boss mad cuz like Cory why don't you get the penny as I said before Jasmine here looks like a kind-hearted girl as it turned out she was the one driving because her friend was already on probation so basically she took one for the team so to speak she was transported to the Whitman County Jail in kfax Washington with a bail amount of $500 she was cited for driving under the influence and released with a mandatory court date after posting bail later in court she pleaded guilty to neg driving in the first degree which is classified as a misdemeanor she got one day in jail or 12 hours of community service followed by 24 months of supervised probation our previous two athletes did have a runin with the law but we wouldn't exactly call them criminals right they were just young people who did stupid stuff the same can't be said for our next suspect who was trying to do a big no no holes County sheriff's deputies arrested Alabama freshman Tony Mitchell Wednesday in Bona they say Mitchell and another man had a large bag of in their car they were coming down here with a lot of money uh some weapons and some Panama City Beach police chief J.R telones says Mitchell was on his way to Panama City Beach he says in the car was a weapon a bag of and more than $117,000 of cash Holmes County sheriff's deputies say the gun was loaded now this sounds like some criminal stuff doesn't it so let's watch the moment the football star was pulled over and how the arrest went down apparently the officers followed a vehicle that had tried to elude them by going 141 mph later they found the vehicle and approached the driver how'd y'all get in the Bona yeah you don't know where you're at no I'm down here on vacation so I got you headed to Panama you head to Panama City Beach no sir you ain't okay all right man well listen the speed limit is 35 where you were just at I Pac you at 45 you got your driver's license I don't plan on riding your ticket or anything I'm sorry okay 164 you didn't just run for me on Highway 79 like I said I got you man oh he got him but he doesn't know what he got him for yet for now the deputy is sure that this was the vehicle that was running from them but he still has to figure out why he asked the driver to pull out the key and put him on the roof and then the deputy asked a question that made me think he smelled something you have any medical card do you have a medical car cuz I smell coming from the vehicle okay so do you have cuz I smell it are you having a hard time understanding what I'm saying why does I didn't know why you was asking me did I have a car yeah cuz in Florida they do medical cars but in Alabama they don't it's just something I have to ask okay cuz I smell coming from the vehicle all right so here's the deal as long as you're honest with me I'm going to work with you okay but if you're going to lie to me I have the right to do a probable call search right now okay and I do believe you are the vehicle that just ran from us all right I I all right I'm going to take your your fob right here and set it towards the trunk oh man this young gentleman looked like a deer caught in the headlights of a truck that was about to Ram him into Oblivion and this truck goes straight to the point all right man so where's at now's a chance to be honest with me bner I didn't run are you sure about that because there there was two of us there when you passed that church all right just do me a favor step out yeah step out one all right me a fav come back here you ain't got nothing else illegal in the car that's everything is that everything of course that's not everything the deputy Pats Mr Mitchell down puts him in handcuffs and then does the same to his friend at this time they're just being detained for running away from a traffic stop but then the officer checks the car okay that's more how much y'all got how much more you got am I going to find anything else yeah okay how much is that 100 G 100 G okay you have any Firearms where it's on the side it's on the side you have a seal weapon perment is not M do you have have a concealed weapons permit partner do you have a concealed weapons permit yes where is it in your wallet where's the firearm on the driver's side your side the guys give conflicting answers and due to the poor audio it's not clear whose gun it is but one thing is clear these are not career criminals my guess is they just wanted to make a quick buck and now they start to unravel way can you put him in the back of your car and search from you ain't under arrest right now I'm just going to talk to you okay hey it's going to be okay listen listen you're just detained okay just put them back to your car SE hey man um I just got to read this to you it's just our policy because you are in handcuffs okay and then the lieutenant here will answer any questions you may have all right all right you do have the right to remain silent when they start reading you the Miranda Rights you know you're going to jail and by the time the deputy's done reading his card the reality of the situation really sinks in you understand those rights what he's saying to you man is you don't have Sal dut at all you kick sand nothing extra we can do to you you get that I'm sorry I I I'm normally a pretty decent judge of character this isn't you right yes sir I really can't even talk right now cuz like you don't have to talk man I'm sorry none of that I swear like I heard you tell you buddy earlier that you can't call your daddy all right listen I'm a Daddy too I'm going tell you you can call him he might be mad at you but you can call him I can't do this sir like that is I'm a early early fresh I play football Alabama and like I know like play football for the University Alabama yes sir I know when I got at R sir like I didn't have none of that stuff on you you think that other boy's actually going to step up and say what's his he knows it's his I was yeah I know that's his gun too I can tell cuz you didn't know what it was the look on his face when you said gun told me you didn't know there was a gun in that car it's all right man it's all right man the s try to console the young football player and he's hanging in there despite knowing that most likely his career is over he admits that the car is his and about $1,000 but there was a total of 177,000 found in the car as well as a bag of scales and the gun he also admitted to running from the cops but like what I was going to say like I a never been in this like situation before and like where everything he had he was just telling me to go and like like I ain't so that's why you you just panic and like I bro it's all right I'm not going to charge you for it okay because you're being honest with me I will say you outran me like pretty bad that hell I ain't never drove that car a SC oh is it okay I thought it cuz man I can hear you whenever I turned around you gunned it just yeah somehow whenever men have a productive conversation at one point or another it'll turn to cars bikes or other stuff that's loud and Fast and since today is about learning lessons these officers have a word of advice for the young football player let me go ahead and tell you and and I understand man I grew up here I grew up on that beach that beach ain't what it is that that beach you get a good kid like you mhm in like this that's all that's good for you you didn't even make it to the beach and and look at where we're at you know you let your friend influence you to just gun it and now we're here okay so I'm going to talk to this other c a little yeah I got a question say he did like own up to everything like if he owns up to it it's going to be his decision but if he owns up to it unfortunately even though the two suspects seem to be friends the other one is denying the his Mr Mitchell here is about to be charged with a felony and he's not taking it lightly what you name that much is a felony in the state of fla okay his possession with intent to distribute you y have almost a pound okay so he's not taking it I tried talking to him so he you in it okay please that's all I'm charging sir but I ain't got a choice on that sir sir please please listen to the sir please I understand trust me I get it this is the last thing I wanted to do okay no sir I can't sir I can't you sir like I came through with my career sir I promise I'm all right well I understand what just sit tight let me talk to the lieutenant um just sit tight for me okay all right just sit tight wash your legs I really feel bad for this kid what about you do you think he should be given a second chance well guess what he was even though he was suspended from the team he was later reinstated and continued his career after learning a tough lesson in life as for the court he pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of more than 20 gam of cannabis he was sentenced to 3 years of probation a fine and community service let's hope he really did learn his lesson hello hi how's it going tonight good how are you good Rec I'm s you're going the wrong way down White Street I know I figured that out I'm so sorry okay do you have your L registration proof and Insurance where are you heading to tonight back to our dor oh okay where you coming from I was dding for people so just taking you have anything at all to drink I have not okay give me another um I'm pretty sure my license is expired cuz I haven't been home from college yet so I haven't got my new one put my registration okay it's in Houston okay yeah you are you okay with my expired what my expired my expired insurance yeah you can just take that piece of gum out for now okay perfect he might not have an issue with expired registration but that gum is really bugging him as it turns out she doesn't even know what's expired and what isn't your license isn't expired yet no but my registration expired in September oh okay I believe did your parents pay it you just hav't put the sticker on they have I haven't been home from cuz I support okay so you're saying you haven't had a single drop of alcohol this P I have not you have not had a single drop there we go the officers run her papers and everything's in order except for the fact that he thinks she's drunk she says she's dding people meaning she was the designated driver she apparently just went to a club to pick up her friends and is now taking them home but for some reason the cop isn't buying it and he takes her through the field sobriety tests all right I'll have you step out here for a second do you have anything in your pockets at all um just money tell me take out yeah you can just throw up the car that's okay we'll walk right over here so what I want to do is I want to run through what called standard field Surety test we can either do it out here or I can drive you a block we can just do it out here you're not going to get too cold or anything like that no I'm golden okay all right so our first test it's called a horizontal gaze I Stags test do you have anything around your head neck or eyes and recent concussions anything like that okay is there anything else in your mouth all right tongue all the way up to the roof when was the last time you smoked um I don't even know to be honest I figured she was going to ace the tests she seems so confident and didn't stumble or fall but then it came to the breathalyzer test and that's when things turned sour for her all right you can are your friends are they pretty drunk I believe so okay where do you guys go to college um they go to Loris I go to UD okay I just know them cuz I'm transfering to Loris that semester oh I was going to say you're the only one getting a quality education but then you say something like that yeah no I had issues with the coach at the sport I so like I'm trying to spend to Loris cuz I'm not going to let a coach push me away from the sport that I love so what do you play cross country and track oh okay nice for those of you who are not familiar that means running Allison is a runner she just likes to Do It Outdoors hence the name cross country sadly she won't be able to run away from this one because her blood alcohol content was .14 which is almost double the legal limit so you are being placed under arrest for ow okay do I get anything out of my car we can grab anything you'd like out of there um can I grab my phone yeah we can grab it you can all right just cuz we don't want you reaching in there and you're going to be in handcuffs so this nice officer is going to arrange to make sure that they get home safely uh you just want your car locked up and turned off and then we'll bring the keys down yes unless do you trust them to find a silver driver that can come move your car or do you just want to stay in here I'll just say okay all right actually am I able to call someone if I have like a silver person once we get down there you know sometimes when I look at all the craziness that happens in these encounters I start doubting Humanity but then I see someone like Allison and Jasmine who we saw previously and I see that there are still decent people out there faith in humanity restored as for our designated driver she's about to get a ride to jail you don't have anything in Pockets right you took your money out nothing tucked in your bra anything like that correct you can feel if you need to but I don't have anything all right we're just going to have a you okay yeah no you're good once in jail Allison is taken through the procedure without any problems she searched and does another breathalyzer test she gets her phone call but instead of someone picking her up decides to sober up up in jail according to the cop that'll take another 7 hours this is an example of the right way to act when you find yourself in this situation had she confronted the cops and started yelling or insulting them she would have gotten a couple more charges and who knows maybe they'd find a gun in the car or something worse so remember guys stay calm be cooperative
