Hey, you're wrapped up. We got in the way. You're going to be a [ __ ] I literally just walked out. Open this door right now. What is wrong? How dare you leave a child in here without the air on? Are you serious? What do you mean? It went away. It's not on. Going through a really bad divorce. So, he was in your car for a long time. They said, hour and 30 minutes. It's 80° outside right now. The car's not out. right here. He must leave. I'm not lying to you. Usually, parents are the ones who are supposed to protect their kids from danger. But sometimes law enforcement steps in to protect children from their own parents. It may be hard to believe, but there are plenty of times when cops discover babies left unsupervised while their parents shoplift. So stupid. And I'm a idiot. I didn't think right now you're being right. You're not only for town but for shoplifting. I didn't shop anything. On the 30th of March 2024, shoppers in a parking lot were extremely concerned and called 911 when they found an unsupervised young boy crying for his mommy. Police arrived on scene and immediately came in contact with the mother of the child. Hi. Hi. Is this your kid? Yeah. I had to run him to use the bathroom. Okay. But he looks like he's not okay. Are you okay, buddy? He's been here a while. He has not been. You can check the time. I literally I literally ran in there and ran out. Your kid? Yes. Okay. I really had to use the bathroom. So, he was sleeping and I just ran in to use the bathroom and came out. I just really had to go to the bathroom. The little boy, who was four years old, was named Carter. His mother, Heather, claimed she'd only left Carter in the car alone for a few minutes. But the cops noticed the boy looked overheated, red, and sweaty. So, they had a pretty good hunch Heather was lying. And you can look it up on my hospital record that I haven't been out of the hospital having surgery. You have your ID? I don't have anything wrong. I'm giving my social if you like my social. You don't have your ID on you at all? And she's the one there. I was worried about him involved. What's your first name? Heather. My car and registration. Everything's valid. I don't have a Nothing's wrong. Something was definitely wrong here. Heather claims she was suffering from kidney issues and that's why she had to urgently use the restroom. The cops tracked down the mother to figure out just what had happened here. So, when you pulled up in your heart, He was in the middle of the road. Did you go up to him? And we Yeah, we stopped there. They're like, "What's going on?" He just kept saying, "I want my mommy. Where's my mommy? I want my mommy." She just got like you guys like literally you guys pulled up and walked right back. Do you have your ID? Yeah. So, you said you called run away or you waited? We waited well maybe like two minutes. We were talking to him and then the guy over there saw that as well. We walked over at the same time right They got him a drink. I'm taking her. I'm taking So, from the time that you seen him to the time that you called 911, how long time went by? It was within 10 minutes. Not even that. No, it was probably like 3 minutes because that those couple saw him as well and they called 911. Wait, what are you talking about? Like from the time that we saw him. to you guys. It was maybe like 3 minutes. 4 minutes. Okay. And then the time that we responded in about 10 minutes. About 10 minutes. The witnesses said that from when they spotted Carter alone in the car to when the cops arrived was about 13 minutes. And based on that, there's no telling how long he was alone in the car for. At the same time, the cops saw Heather's other child, 13-year-old Adriana approaching. That's leopard shirt. That's kind of cool. Hey. So, what So, were you in the car with your brother? I wasn't going in the bathroom. Okay. Where was your mom at? So, you guys both went into the bathroom? Yeah. I don't like going by myself places like that. So, I asked her to help me. Okay. How long ago did you guys go to the bathroom? Not too long ago. And you left your little brother by himself in the car? Um, I thought it would be fine since he's sleeping. You You can't leave the car unattended with him in there. It's hot. Where do you guys live? I'm not really living with my mom, but I was just here to hang out with her for the weekend. Okay. You live with your dad? Yes. And then your brother just stay with your brother stays with you, too, at your dad's. No, he stays with [Music] I have to birth. No, no, that's Adriana. Sorry. Um I'm nervous. I'm sorry. And Heather had a lot to be nervous about. But instead of being nervous about her child's welfare, when paramedics arrived on scene to check on Carter, she made the entire situation about herself. He just got out of the car. I guess they were concerned that just like ran in and ran out. Okay. So, are you worried? Is there anything out of norm to you that you see stupid? I'm going through a really bad divorce and I know I feel really bad cuz now I'm thinking about it. What's your name? I'm so sorry. Mom, what's your name? What's mommy's name? What's your name, buddy? Can I see your finger, please? All right. Pretty cool light, right? There you go. Pretty cool, right? Oo, look. It got a light on it. Just turn the door. Obviously, you know, bad decision. Can't leave him in the car by himself. I know. I literally followed him in and out and he was sleeping and I didn't I just wasn't I didn't The officers here were getting more and more concerned about Heather's mental state and furthermore after this episode if she was still capable of looking after her children. They encouraged the woman to call a family member or her ex-husband to come pick the children up. We see fit that the time was 15 minutes or more that you were in that store that you're going to jail. I never jail. Okay. As of right now, we have information, but nothing's secure right now. So, we have to do a full come here just in case you guys arrest me. I know that I was in there. I was less than 15 minutes, but listen, even if I don't arrest you, you still you basically look like you need you need a break. Okay. Yeah. Call him up. And how long do you think you should? Like five minutes. Five minutes. Literally five minutes. Okay. And you let the car It was running. The car was running? Yes. Were the keys inside? No. No. I don't I don't remember now. Okay. But the kid was in there. The windows were up. No, the windows were down. The windows were down. Yeah. But you still left the child unattended in this weather, right? Stand. I really I really didn't. Thank you. The man in the white t-shirt was the father of the two children, and he rushed to the scene to make sure they were okay. After reviewing security footage from inside the store, the cops found out exactly what Heather was doing when she was inside. Right now, you're being right, not only for child, but for shoplifting. I didn't shoplift anything. Yes, you did. I'll point to that. I didn't mean to. You let that dog let your daughter inside because you were going to come get your car. Come on. No, it wasn't. Can you call my mom and tell her to help me out right away? Put your hands like if you were praying. Come on. It'll be easier. I can't. I can't. I can't. I can't. I can't. Stop. Don't touch me. Please. I'm not. Please. Don't touch me. Please. Do not resist. Stop. Cuz it will hurt. Do not resist. I can't breathe. Okay. Look. Here. You're talking, right? You're breathing. You're talking. Just focus on that. You're my mom now. I'm breathing. Can you take my jacket? I will. No. I want to take it off. Hey, don't take it off. You want to take her? You want to take Is that all talk? Forget him. I don't have anything. I don't have anything wrong on me. Put your hands on your door. That way. Listen. Do you want these to be comfortable? You want them to hurt? I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do. I've never done this before. Focus. Focus. Put your hands like this backwards. That's all. That's all. Like this. Am I Is DCF going to take my kids in? You know what I'm saying? After that, I could get them back as soon as I get out. And when I get out, I can get He's not law enforcement. I'm trying to explain it to you. Okay. I did not meet this job with anything either. But I didn't mean to. I just Okay. I didn't mean to. I didn't know. I didn't know. I didn't know. But I didn't know. I didn't know. While examining the footage, the cops saw Heather and her daughter trying to steal things. Not only that, but this motherdaughter duo was inside the store for 24 minutes. I didn't know. I swear. All you got to do is I don't know. I want to go to jail. I'm never going to jail. I know. I'm going to jail. Listen, if you would be if you would have been honest with me 100% from the beginning. You did. I was. And they brought him out. So they look at me. No, we didn't do that. They got to get out of the rescue. I think I heard other girls. You're making it worse for your children right now. You got to get yourself together. Do you want her to have Do you want him to have your phone? He can have everything. I don't care. No, I'm saying like so you won't take this to the jail. Actually, I want to take it with me just in case. Okay. I would keep it, too. Okay. Okay. Uh have a seat. Step in. Um should you put my jacket back on? This is the only thing. It's interesting that the idea of jail made Heather scared, but leaving her four-year-old child alone in a hot car did not. After ensuring both the kids were okay, they gave the two children to their father. I'll walk over here. Okay. Mommy. Mommy. Mommy. Mommy. Mommy. Once you're done, he's going to take the car. Give it a second. Can I get a high five? One second. What's your name? Sorry. I know. Give it a second, buddy. Okay. [Music] [Music] Big boy. Oh, no. Carter, look at me. Look at me. We're going to be okay. Okay. I'll make sure you're all right. I don't I don't me. Yeah. I'm going to make sure you're okay. You're not having any trouble. Okay. You're not having any trouble. But remember when I asked you what you guys were doing here, and you guys said that you guys were going to the bathroom. Now, I know that's not the truth. My mom suggested and also get some. Okay. But what was like what were you guys trying to get? Her mom wanted to look around cuz she was distracted. So she wanted to get something for herself with a jacket. She walked out the store. Adriana told the officers that her mother left her alone in the store and said they would pay for the items when her mother got back. It was unclear if Adriana was trying to protect her mother because she didn't want to get in trouble or if she truly believed that her mother would pay for the items. It's my camera. Yeah. You see it? It's my radio. Oh, don't turn it up too loud. Let's go. It's going to go. You just turned the volume up. There it goes. Volume's up. Heather, look at me, please. Where's the hotel? She keeps telling him, "Can you please loosen these? I keep hitting my back on him and he's really tired." Yeah. Right now. Is that my mom? You roll up that rear window. Mommy, they rolled up the window. Hey, mommy. This is her mom. Oh, her mom. Yeah. Hey, mommy. One second. Mommy, did you grab him? Go with your sister. Ah, go with your sister. [Music] For her own selfish reasons, Heather put her kids through a very traumatic experience. Heather was charged with shoplifting and child neglect. We hope this scared her into changing her act so she can be the mother her kids deserve. On April 23rd, 2023, officers received a call about a little girl who almost drowned at the beach. When the cops arrived, they learned the little girl and her brother had both been left unsupervised. The cops tracked down the mother to figure out what had happened. You have another son with you? Yeah. How old is he? He's fine. All right. Go to the beach and look for him. What's he wearing? Ma'am, you know, first come over. Listen, we're aing five adults here with two of my kids. I just came to to take him to the beach. I understand, but when you're questioning why somebody else is holding your daughter, that means that you should have been there. But literally, we were all paying attention to it. Like, I was literally just leaving. How could everybody be paying attention if an honest citizen that don't even know what's going on right now? Like, I don't understand the beach with a 5-year-old brother, right? What is going on? Okay. You left your daughter in the beach with a sibling that's 5 years old alone. She was drowning. Someone had to take her out of the water cuz she almost drowned and died. Do you understand that? Not once did the woman ask if her three-year-old daughter or 5-year-old son were okay. The mother claims she was just a few feet away and had been checking on her children. When asked to explain, her reasoning for why the cop should let her go was very odd. I brought a blanket. I brought water. I brought Coke. I brought everything for them to be comfortable for today. Last literally last night was my birthday. Today I'm like, "Okay, I'm going to spend time with my kids." I've been with him all day. Like if that happened for like a second, you know, like if that person didn't step, she would have died. I'm not a bad mom. I don't know what to tell you. Never said that you're a bad mom. But what I'm saying is a sority would occur. You stepped away. She almost died. I don't understand. Right. I know for a second I understand that. So she was at my bar and she had the kids and the truth is when the friend got drunk I think she thought the men were looking after the babies. She literally has had them the whole time. And I if she wasn't if she was a I would have said so. I'm a foster parent. I fost I foster through citrus. I've adopted. I'm very big on kids. She has had them the whole time. And so when her friend was stumbling drug these are her friend shoes. I believe it's her shoes. She took it to the bathroom because she's like she's throwing up, you know. So that's I don't want you to think that she just she wasn't just not being a mom. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So where's the friend at now? Or did she leave somebody else in charge? Every parent knows that accidents happen. But even with this man's testimony, it seemed like the mother was far more concerned about her adult friend than watching over her own children. One of the mother's intoxicated friends approached the officers and pulled out a law enforcement badge from Texas. Hold on. Hold on. Somebody found her daughter. I understand that. All right. Somebody found her daughter in the water drowning. Some citizen, little girl saw the baby drowning. Yeah. The baby's out. Yeah. She's wondering why somebody else is holding her daughter and you're trying to tell her you were not there for her. That's why another citizen is a bartender, a waitress, is holding your child. It's a crime to leave your child unsupervised for more than 15 minutes. The officer confronted the mother about walking her friend to the bathroom and how long she'd been gone. No, I never went to the bathroom. I was here. I was washing them the whole time. I don't even know when the is happens. And I guess Well, little kids, it happens quick. No, I know. I know. But I brought a blanket. I brought drinks. I bought water. Like, this was our day. I don't know why I'm even here. Like, I didn't even know that was happening. I'm a good mom. Like, I've never had a felony. I've never done drugs. I've never done anything. Like, I don't even know why I'm here. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know what I mean? And I respect you 100%. I respect your job and everything. I understand. We're trying to match up why a citizen found your daughter in the water. That's what I'm saying. No, not her own family. No, no, no. We were here at the bar and I brought them and I put sunscreen on them and everything and I was watching them and then she came to me because my kid didn't want to like share toys with her kid or something like that and I'm like listen I brought enough I brought enough toys for them to play together you know and she's like oh okay then it's fine like whatever my kid will share you get me and I'm like okay and I was watching them the whole time I really don't know why I'm here. The mother's statements kept changing. First, the kids were on a blanket. Then, they were at the bar with other children. But none of those stories included the fact that her daughter was found in the water almost drowning. I could see her all the time. Like, my best friend is her godmother. Like, she was like, "Oh, Ivy's playing." She would they would come to me every five minutes. I put water in his face so he can't c his lie on his eye. Like, we were right there. I don't know what's happening right now. I'm not a bad parent. You can say anything about me, but I'm not a bad parent. I love those kids. I don't know what's going on right now. I came for them to have a police day. I work from home. I never leave my house. Their baby daddy's a firefighter. Like, we don't live for trouble. We take care of these kids. If the mother was there just so her kids could have a beach day, then why was she drinking heavily, I might add, at the bar? The woman's stories weren't adding up, and it was clear from her slurred speech that she'd had more than one drink. She doesn't even get in the water, which minds me. She doesn't even like the water. She's scared. She literally stays in the sand. I was watching her the whole time. I'm like, "Okay, I'm going to have a drink with my girls. They're here for me. They came out of town. It's my birthday. Okay, perfect. I'm going to have a drink. I was literally, you can I have videos of me standing on the chair just looking, you know, where they are. I put sunscreen on them. I brought their bag like these are my kids. These are my life. I would never never even seeing her holding my child. It's like, what the are you doing? Well, that's what she brought the child all the way from the beach all the way to our patrol cars. It was a second. Nobody stopped. It was a second. It was a second. I promise you, listen, her godmother is with me. My best friend is with me. My brother is with me. We would never let anything happen to Ivy. The mother then changed her story again, saying she was a single mother and did not get help from the children's father. She then admitted that she came to the beach for herself to party for her birthday. If it was one second, then it was one second and I will never regret that. But I understand where she's come from as like a pedestrian or whatever. And I appreciate her for saving my daughter, but it was once. All right. Listen to I would never drink this much if I'm with my kids. I'm with her godmother. I'm with my best friend. I would never. We're with my brother. I'm with my brother's best friend with his five adults available. There's no reason for this to happen. There's one thing she was right about. It's sad that there were five adults there, yet nobody saw the three-year-old girl drowning. The cops decided there was enough evidence to charge the mother, so they took out the handcuffs. Can't stand up for me. Bring it back, right? Why am I getting a rest for? What am I getting a good luck, man? What? What? What are you talking about? Understand you love your kids. Accidents happen, right? If it wasn't for that bystander, we'll be doing a death. What are you talking about? This way. It's my birthday and I came to take my kids to the beach like it was a second. While the mother sat in the backseat of a cop car. Paramedics were called for the extremely intoxicated woman who was passed down on the bathroom floor who supposedly knew the mother. She has check to see if she has keys and an ID on her. some random dude if you don't mind. Thanks. She only had one drink. A bunch of random people bought her shots and they're they've been gone. That's what she told us. So, uh, someone else bought her drinks. So, she only bought one herself. Someone else was supplying her with booze and this is what we get. You can't look out the back window and look in the ambulance. See if that's your friend wearing turquoise shorts. She said that's your friend with like blue like a blue skirt. Yeah, like a blue skirt. Shorts. She's my best friend. She's here for for Is that the one you brought to the bathroom? Yeah. No, I didn't go to the bathroom. Oh. The mother claimed her best friend had the same amount of drinks as she did. The cops were concerned about the children, so they notified their uncle, their grandmother, and the kid's father to see who could pick the kids up. I don't want to be here right now. Trust us, we don't want to be here either. I understand that. And I understand that you guys are just doing your job, but I'm not the I'm not the one. I promise you I'm not the one. He gets up every other weekend. I told him it was my weekend. I She didn't pass out. She's She's literally here from Talahasi for me. I'm not a jail type of I graduated. I'm a good mother. Why am I in here? Okay. You need a female deputy and then I don't know. You have another shirt to put over her. A rain coat. What? What does she have? Her her bikini top came up. Sorry. Her what? Her bikini top is up. Do you have a rain coat or something? Do I have a raincoat here? Is she exposed? Yeah. Oh, you fixed it. You're not exposed. Can you please fix it? Can't fix it. I'll call Davis. I'm not doing this. I fixed it. That's okay. Hey, if she saved my daughter's life, then I for her. You get me? The cops made sure the kids were picked up by a guardian and the mother was taken to jail. They charged the mother with child abuse as well as vulnerable adult abuse with intent. Maybe next time instead of taking shots, she'll be more concerned with her children. On June 21st, 2024, the cops were called to a Harbor Freight parking lot because two kids were locked in a van. The vehicle was off and the kids had no air. And to make matters worse, the temperature outside was 92°. Hi, sweetie. Are you able to unlock the door? Are you hot? [Music] It literally just walked in. Open this door right now. What is wrong? How dare you leave a child in here without the air on? Are you serious? You're crying. What are you going to do? It went away. It's not on, dude. There's no key in there, dude. I promise you. I promise you. It was on. It was on. It was on. It was on. There's no key in it. The man said he'd left the car with the air conditioning on, but it was physically impossible since he took the keys with him. Witnesses claimed the unsupervised children could be heard screaming and crying before the cops arrived. Sorry, dude. Please. I'll take my key. What is wrong with [Music] Turn the car. Get some AC. I'm so sorry. Please. Are you guys okay? I'm so sorry, guys. Are you guys okay? Dude, I've literally been in there for like five minutes. Please don't take my So, that is ridiculous. Dude, where's your ID at? Feel like I didn't smash your window out, dude. 35. Where's your idea at? I don't know. The officer's first concern was the well-being of the children, so he of course called paramedics. The father claimed the kids had only been in the car for about 5 minutes. There's two two in there. Super hot. They're crying off. I I've been doing this alone, man. I I tried to return something. I They're They're having an issue returning it. I didn't realize [Music] Just stay back for a second, dude. It's pretty hot. I ran in. I tried to return my key and I thought that it was over here. The father told the officers that he'd been struggling for a while because he was single parenting. He said he didn't want to wake the kids up from napping, so he left them while he returned an item. Do you have any wallets or anything like that? You're nothing. So my my understanding is this is that these medics were saying it was extremely hot in that car. I know. First of all, you relax. Do you understand a child within 3 4 minutes? I didn't realize that. Huh? He He strokes the real thing, boss. Right. She's She's reaching for me. The man said he was unemployed and that they were previously living in his RV. Recently, they'd started staying with a friend. Because of the mess inside the vehicle, the cops were skeptical if the family actually had a home. The officer continued making sure the kids were okay. And uh I mean, are they going back to him? As of right now, I don't know because this I don't know if I can trust him. That's what I at this point cuz he said he was only there for he said he was only there for five minutes. I even five minutes I sat out in his seat with your windows up with with no AC going. I said you could have your kids easily sweaty. to go to hospital. We need to take them for their safety. [Music] Yeah, they're very reality. Due to the father's mental state, the cops were concerned about leaving the kids in his care. The cops went back in the store to try and confirm the father's story. They wanted to see just how long the kids have been left in the car. cashier said 15 plus at least. Oh, they need they need the doctors probably get checked in at that point. Yes, 15 plus. I think they should go check that cuz that's Yeah, he's No. Well, his first worry was in trouble. Yeah. Why you Why you worry about if you're in trouble and not your kids you need to exchange your kids there? Yeah, exactly. That's that's about my thoughts, too. He said, "Well, they have water." I said, "You think a three and a however old four and a six-year-old, whatever he said, think about to drink water." A lot of single parents don't leave their children locked in a hot car for over 15 minutes. As he was worried the kids weren't going to be looked after, the officer inquired about the children's mother. Where's her mom? Is that why you have to break us in? It's hard, man. I'm sorry. I [Music] I ain't going to lie to you. There's zombies in there. I know. He didn't ask if his kids were going to be okay, but he did ask for his vape. In the center console, there were also drugs. On top of all this, the father was smoking inside his car with the children. After talking to more employees, the cops discovered that the kids were in the car for 27 minutes. Do they have a grandma? Grandpa? Yeah, grandma. That's close. Yeah. Is she able to take care of them? Are you going to jail? Yeah. You want to go to jail for a child danger? Man, can't leave your kids in here. You know grandma's phone number? Yeah. All right. Give me Give me a second. What's grandma's phone number? Can I please give them a hug? because I know their mom's gonna keep them from me after one. No, they're gonna go to doctors, make sure they're all good, and then uh children services is gonna go there as well. So, we we have to report on something like this, man. It's not like he's not like, "Oh, you messed up. Okay, here's kids back." Security footage revealed that the man only left the store when he saw the cops arrive. He was charged with child endangerment and the kids were placed in child protective services. On May 25th, 2024, at a local mall, two women there saw an unsupervised and frightened little boy walking around the parking lot searching for his father. Unable to locate the 9-year-old's father, they called the police. Do you know mom's phone number? Okay, so you were It was really hot in there, right? What's going on, man? Want to go grab this? You got to grab what? I don't want to show in front of him. You what? I don't want to show in front of him. Okay, that that's fine. Here, buddy. Haven't seen the car real quick. So, he was in your car for a long time. They said hours 30 minutes. It's 80° outside right now. The car's not on right here. He was sleeping. I'm not lying. So, you know, I'm just trying to say what I bought. None of it tomorrow. Okay, I hear you. It was nothing, dude. Just none of this is acceptable. The father claimed he was just grabbing an engagement ring for his girlfriend. What the father didn't know was that the cops had contacted ball security and they'd looked through the parking lot footage showing the father had left his son alone for over an hour. What's the What's the time of that? You left him in a car. You're likely going to be charged with child endangerment. I guess you don't do that. You cannot leave a child in a car. It was something quick. It wasn't quick. He had to I wasn't on the board. Listen, listen, listen to me. It wasn't quick. I thought it wasn't exhaust. The windows are open at an inch and it's over 80 in the in the It's so hot in that car right now. Totally unacceptable. I'm a good dad. I don't never I'm a good father. We're not saying you're not. I'm just saying this is a bad I can't have it cuz I can't have his mom. Tomorrow is I hear you. Can you stop over there, please? Yeah. Just have a seat. Yeah, he can. He can sit down. This I can't have his mom mad at me with this type of thing going on. They saw you get out of the car at 2:12. It is 3:30 right now. Listen, I'm not trying to explain what happens. I don't know how long. An hour. Rush. I'm rushing. I'm rushing. I have to get I'm not Everyone wants to claim they're a good parent. But when you care more about shopping than the safety and well-being of your own child, it's a complete contradiction. The father hasn't even asked once if his son was okay. This is my girl. I understand. No, not if this again. This is not a circumstance where we can make a decision like this. This is going through our bosses. We have to verify everything. Do you have first off? Do you have your ID? No, it's fine. We We have to contact mom. There's no choice. What's the What's the m still going to get charged? So, are you carrying right now? No, it's in my car. Okay. No, that's fine. You have your driver's license. Oh, I'm not. So, even if I if it's my um like cuz I don't want to get sorry, I don't want her to nothing I got going on. It's not her. I know. I hear I hear. I wouldn't even see I wouldn't even brought him. We went and got a haircut. I'm Russian. I wouldn't even brought him. Like the father told police that he wasn't proposing to his son's mother, but to a different woman and he didn't want his son to know what he was doing yet. The cops called their supervisor to get some guidance on next steps. Where are you? Where are you working? I'm working for the sheriff's office. You're a deputy orction. Yeah. I mean, I know, but the pro the problem that we we're having is just the the time frame of everything. The kid got out of the car and he's concerned. He's okay. He's in the back seat. He's just sitting right there in my car. Yeah. Come on. Look at him. I'm I'm not going to deny it. The irony of this entire situation was that the father was employed as a corrections officer at the local jail. It's no wonder he didn't want to be charged with anything because he could lose his job. He had his tablet and I saw him. I don't know why he was. What's that? He had a Yeah, there was a tablet there. I saw that. I don't know why he Yeah, he's the kid saying he felt like he was being kidnapped. He said he had no way to communicate. I'm trying to text him, but he didn't know he was on Wi-Fi. Oh yeah, nothing to communicate. Okay. He said he's a long period of time then he's getting really scared. I mean he's saying everything that's I mean that's child. I mean I would think nine is but not if he's that concern. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. And I mean he was in there for an hour the day and said he was getting ready to go to sleep. So if he calls us Yeah. And there's nothing we can do. We can't treat him different. No, I know. I'm not worried about that. The cops conferred amongst themselves and came to the very same conclusion as the sergeant. The child was scared for his life and the length of time the kid was alone in the car was definitely criminal. Now it was time to break the news to the kid's father. You got everything in this bag? You're going to be coming back with us. Yeah. All right, man. For child endangerment. Yeah. I'm I'm dead serious. Yeah. So here. Yeah. We we have these all the time. treat anybody differently based on all the circumstances. We the one that's your mom. Yeah, mom's going to come here. Ma'am, listen. Listen. No, that's okay. No. So, so you'll get plenty when you get back and everything. I was in the car. Yeah, there it is. Jeez. Oh, man. audio or video on Oh, yeah. Not one in the chamber. I mean, yeah, the magazine is, but there was not one in the chamber. Yep. He'd left his child alone in an extremely hot car with an unlocked firearm in the door. Unbelievable. Thankfully, this situation was caught in time before the kid got seriously injured. The father was charged with endangering a child. On April 4th, 2023, the cops were called to a store when employees saw a couple with a baby hiding multiple stolen items in their bags. When the cops arrived on scene, they found the couple in the parking lot. Do you have anything that's targets? Do you have anything as targets? No, I have This is target loss prevention right here. That's what I'm saying here. She has our son. That's That's your son, right? This is our son. Okay. your backpack. Bro, you have stuff in your backpack. My backpack's already mine. Okay. Can you show us then and then make it easy? I don't need to do that. That's not Well, they have proof that you walked out with under arrest for stealing. Okay. I'm under arrest. I didn't steal. I did not steal trying to arrest me. I did not do anything. You didn't even do nothing. I did not. Please. I did not. You're going to look at the I didn't do anything. Okay. Relax. No. I'm not going to react to the time that I stole. No, I have a kid. No. Look at me. You're making it hard. You're making it hard. The officers realized it was a heated situation. As from the very start, both suspects were extremely aggressive. The male suspect, DeAndre, was afraid his girlfriend was going to go to jail. So, he confessed to stealing, taking the blame for everything, and revealed what was in his backpack. It was just me. Please take her out of a handcuff. I got trespass. Good idea. No, I don't. But I will give you my Take her out a handcuff, please. No, I didn't. Those are my diaper bags. Please take her out of handcuffs. She did nothing. I have everything and I'm giving it back right now. This is all you guys' [ __ ] All of it. Look, that's all my stuff. This, too. That's all you guys' stuff. That's it. I have nothing else. Is that all your guys stuff? That's all of it. Okay. What's your last name? What's your last name of him, man? And your first name? No, cuz we have our son and she should not be in handcuff. Well, we shouldn't be stealing with your son either. The officers said that they'd both be given a trespass and they would then release his girlfriend from the handcuffs. But then when they couldn't find the last name DeAndre gave them, they began to suspect that he was concealing his real identity. No, I'm not. I have no reason to lie about my name. I just I'm literally Bro, you got to understand. No, it's not. This is mine. This is all my It's been down there. I'm 100% I just gave you everything that was yours. Why would I keep this? It's ours. Like literally, I just gave you Why would I give you all your and then bull? We just paid for all that. Bro, it's mine. The zippers are broken. Everything. This is mine. I had this. Yeah, you steal this. I've had So, you got to sell that, too. No, you didn't. God, this is my bag. Hey, DeAndre, if they go look at the video and they say that's their bag, I'm taking you to jail. Oh my god. So, if this is their bag, just give them their back, man. You already you already were honest about a lot of stuff, so just give him the DeAndre's lies didn't stop coming. DeAndre said he'd been homeless for a while and that's why he resorted to stealing. Eventually, one of the officers found DeAndre's records and he had an active warrant for domestic violence. You got a warrant for your ass? No, I don't. No, I don't. Okay. Please don't do that. Can you give your Can you give her Don't run off with a baby. I'm not. Can you get Can you see Is she She's going to get the baby. But we got to check on your warrant. That's just how it's got to go. Is she going to jail? You know that's how it's going to go. Don't run. We know who you are. I want her to go. Is she going to jail? You want me to call extra cops? No, she's not. Give her the baby then. Then I'll give her the baby. I'll give her the baby. But you can't go run it off. Give her the baby. I will give her the baby. You can't go to jail. Why not? Because I got I can't go to jail. Give her the baby. We won't give her the baby. Give her the baby. I will. You going to run away? Go to jail. What's that? So, let's just take this baby to CPS, then she's going to go meet up with him. DeAndre left his baby in the parking lot and bolted. The cops didn't want to leave the baby alone so they didn't chase after him. They put his description out so the other officers could locate him. Oh, you warm enough? Why are you still with him? You guys got the order, the the warrant. Like, they're obviously issuing that stuff for a reason, right? To protect you and your baby. I know, but it was I'm not the one who placed it. My mother did. So, you don't want those then? No, I don't. You got to go to courts then because every time you're together. I know. We can get in trouble. I know. I can send up charges right now for I know what I'm assuming felony order violation, right? Probably. I don't know. How many times is he uh they're chasing him right now? Not only did DeAndre have a domestic violence charge against his girlfriend, but there was also a court order saying he wasn't allowed to be with her. The girlfriend didn't have warrants, so the cops took her out of her handcuffs so she could be with her baby. Hey, you're wrapped up. We got K out of the way. You're going to get bit. Police. Green tank top. You're under arrest. Stop running. Get on now. I am. I am. I am. Your stomach. I am. I am. I am. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Unfortunately for DeAndre, repeatedly saying you're sorry isn't a get out of jail free card. It was too late to be sorry. While being detained, he also mentioned he had a history with drugs. I'm just withdrawing. I don't I was withdrawing. Sir, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Sit up. Okay. I'm not going to I'm not going to be any more problems. I'm sorry. Okay. I'm just withdrawing really bad. I just I'm sorry. You guys got to get that border taken care of. Exactly. That's why I ran because I knew you guys were going to bring that up and I didn't want her to go to jail. Yeah. I didn't want her to go to jail because of the order. So, I figured if you guys ran chased after me, you guys wouldn't take I'm sorry. So, she got the order against you or you against her or both of you guys? She got it against me. It was But it was She got it against me, but But okay, so we're going to go back over to ball real quick. We got the order violation, right? So that's what I think we're going to book you on is the order vi you on the phone with you. I can call you do. You were with her, right? No, I wasn't. That's what I was saying. We weren't together. I was already here and she ended up being here and I saw her. The officer wasn't buying his excuses and gave DeAndre a pep talk about turning his life around and being a good father. He was transferred to jail and charged with shoplifting, obstructing justice, and for violation of a court order. On the 28th of February, 2025 in Florida, the cops were called to the parking lot of a bar where a Honda SUV was parked with a 10-month-old baby inside. The parents were nowhere in sight, and the temperature outside was 56°. Hi. Hi, sweetie. Are you okay? Hello. Telling her the vehicle, but I'm not her mother. Okay. She's inside. I just grab the keys from her and check on her. Check on who? Her. Okay. What's your name? My name is Josh. I'm her boyfriend. The mother of this child. Okay. She's at the bar of the corner. The first corner. color shirt. What color shirt? I don't know. How do you know? The cops tried to comfort the baby who had a soaking diaper and mucus running down his nose. 10 minutes later, the mother's boyfriend, Josh, came out. He said the mother's name was Christina, and the cops went inside the bar to find her. come over. I just literally came here to get my boyfriend. Okay. And so, can you come stand over here, Christina? Hey, where's Josh? Josh is with our other officer. I need you to pay attention and focus. Okay. I am going to read you something. Uh just because this is going in a weird direction. Uh you're not under arrest. You're going to stay here. You're not going to be dipping and dodging me, but you're going to stay right here. Okay. Your child is okay. Okay. Instead of asking if her baby was okay, the first thing Christina did was to call out to her boyfriend. The cops on scene were shocked and confused that a mother could leave her baby in a freezing car just to go drinking. They probed the woman for more answers. You also have the right to stop answering any explain what's going on. I don't need to explain anything to you right now. Christina, listen. I'm gonna give you one more opportunity. No, I I know. I know you're not going anywhere. Okay. Okay. Just let me do it. But here's the deal. When I tell you to stop moving. Okay. All right. Can I just sit right here? Can I just sit right here? So, I'm debating on whether to put you in handcuffs right now because you don't know how to listen. Yes, I'm I know how to listen. You want to have a seat? We can do that. I have a feeling you know why we're here. Do you wish to explain or figure maybe help me better understand what the heck is going on? I literally came here to get my boyfriend. We were fighting or sleeping. this car. Josh Okay. So, this is this is Josh's car. Um and you were driving Josh's car. I Did you drive Josh's car here? I did. Okay. So, um Josh was here with you. I I He was here. I got here after him. We We had been arguing. I just You can have a seat back now. Thank you. Christina claimed that Josh had gone to the bar by himself. She then drove to the bar to follow him. She told the cops she arrived there about 30 minutes earlier. She also claimed she'd been sitting outside watching the car. Okay. So, at some point you decided to leave the child in the car to go inside and have a drink at the bar. I was out here the whole time. I literally had just That wasn't my question. My question was at some point you decided to go inside. He was out here watching the baby. Who was? Josh was. So Josh knew the baby was out here too. Yeah. And at one point were you guys both inside when the baby was Well, yeah, because we were standing out here for quite a while. So, I'm trying to figure out what at what point did both of you guys decide to go inside and have a drink and just wanted to get my boyfriend from the bar. I did. I was not trying to stay here at all. I was trying to just go home. Staying inside the bar and ordering drinks is not something you do if you're trying to go home, but that's exactly what she did. The officer here was being very intentional because he wanted to know if Josh knew the entire time that the baby was alone in the cold car. Can you explain why you would leave your child in the car unattended on a cold night when the No, have a seat. I understand. Okay. Do you understand? Because you're having a very difficult time comprehending and following simple instructions. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm just nervous. I just want my child back. Why are you so nervous? Because I just I just want What makes you nervous? I just wanted to go home. I didn't want any of this to happen. Yeah. No. No. You can. No. Not now, buddy. No. Absolutely not. The cops were asking about who the father of the baby was to make sure the child had a safe place to go. But unfortunately, Christina refused to give the cops the father's name. Now having enough evidence, the cops then decided to arrest Christina. All right, go ahead and turn around. Do not do not do that. Do not pull away from me. Stop pulling away from me. Pulling away from you. I can't believe this is happening right now. We're good. I've been hanging out in the bar the whole time. Your voice down. I'm going to talk to you in a second. Please. I'm just I just asked you if I just Hey. Hey. What did I just tell you? Chill out. Can I talk to you, please? No, you can talk to me. You can't yell at me. Give me a second. I'm going to be with I'm going to talk with my other officer for a second and we'll talk. We won't yell at each other. Okay. Oh, hang up. So, I've been in here by myself hanging out for the last few hours. She showed up here. I told her not to come up here. Mhm. Oh, Gray is going to jump in and ask questions as we're going along, too. So, go ahead. I told her not to come. I said, "Go to the house. I'll meet you at no point if I drove this vehicle. It is registered in my name." Yes. Because she cannot have a vehicle registered in her name because she has a DUI in North Carolina. Okay. So, I registered the vehicle in this name. She paid for the vehicle. It's in my name. The cops told Josh that he was focused on the wrong issue. They weren't arresting the man for the registration issues with his vehicle because Josh was aware that the baby was alone in the car. He was also liable for putting the child in danger. Her kid. He came out. I didn't know she was here. That's why I had the keys. I came out here. So I said, "Give me your key." My question is, so when she got here, she met you inside the bar, correct? Yeah. She didn't tell me she was in here until then she told me she was and I grabbed her keys from her. Were you guys checked on her? I I just I'm trying to understand that she came here and met you inside the bar. Correct. Yes. About him. Okay. Talk about what At what point did she tell you that the kid was in the car right away? Before I came out here, right before you came out with the keys. Yeah. Okay. So, you just came out here randomly. That's why I grabbed her keys and came out here to check on her. Check on who? Her daughter. How did you know the daughter was in the car? She told me when I when you came inside my daughter, but still like I was worried. And then after you checked on your I'm to understand that um it's not your biological child. Do you like you guys are like you guys dating? Okay. How long you guys been together? Six months. Six months. Her kid calls me. What's the deal? His father is not [ __ ] out of her. While talking to the officers, Josh dropped a massive bombshell. He said Christina arrived at the bar about 90 minutes earlier. The cops decided to arrest them both. While in the back of the squad car, the camera caught these two arguing. My baby. My baby. My baby. My baby. I just want to see my baby. Yes. I copy. I told you we needed to leave. Okay. I'm getting childlike charged. Yeah, me too. Cuz you can you please stop? We're this together. I asked I've been hanging out here by myself. I just You brought this on me. I wanted You brought this on me. I wanted I didn't do nothing wrong. Now I have child neglect charges on me. Josh, I'm in I have child neglect charges on me. And I have a child. here. I told you what the I told you to go home. I asked you. I told you to go to home. Can you please stop? I told you to go home. Please stop. Your parents are going to hate me forever now. No, we just I didn't do nothing. I didn't do nothing wrong. I just been hanging out here, man. Can you just please just give me a kiss? Christina and Josh were taken to jail and charged with child neglect. Their case is still pending. It's a good thing the cops got there when they did. Otherwise, Christina and Josh would have driven home drunk with the baby, or they might have left the baby there for hours. On the 25th of February, 2023, at 2:00 in the morning, a little boy walked into a 7-Eleven store asking the employee for help. He said his mother had left him, so the employee called police. You know where he lives? No. He's going to show me, but I want He said he wants to warm up first. Yeah. Thank you. I I would say I would What if he's allergic to something? Yeah. How's it going? Oh, it's okay. You're not allergic to nothing. You sure? Yeah. Are you sure, buddy? Because a lot. The boy Damian seemed scared and confused, so the cops did their best to try and comfort him. It was freezing outside and there were inches of snow covering everything. Damian was coughing, so the cops put him in a squad car to heat the boy up a little. What's he saying? He woke up in uh his mom's car. Can you guys said he came from that way? Can you head that way and see if there's a car door that's open? He woke up in mom's car and he was alone. The car was turned off. Maybe your mom's name sound something. Oh yeah. Okay. All right, buddy. We're going to need your help. You got to look out the windows and tell us which way to go. Okay. You live over here in these apartment buildings here. No, you go in. Okay. Okay. You're looking Oh, my cars are Let's try to remember where you where mom's car is at. It's got that with the sign on it. It's over there by uh by the store with the fire sign on it. He said his mother's name was Sheay and she owned a silver car that was parked nearby. The boy described the car and after driving for a few minutes, the cops located a car that matched that description sitting in the corner of a dark parking lot. This doesn't look familiar. My apartment in that building right behind us here. I tell you what, pull up the uh screen. Okay. Ah, there we go. Hi. Hi. He's saying this doesn't look familiar. He said it's across the street over there. Unfortunately, Damen wasn't able to identify the apartment. Most likely due to the fact that he and his mother were constantly moving. The cops ran the license plate and drove to the address on the registration and they ended up in an apartment belonging to Sha's uncle. What's up, buddy? You Which which window? This one. Oh, are you cold? Thank you. Yep. No problem, buddy. Oh, hey. Long time no see. Sorry. Um, we got a a little kid here and we're looking for his mom and she used to live in 102. That's why I was knocking. Where's his where where's he live at? Across the street. Okay, we're going over there. We're trying to make contact with mom. Last house was right there. So, that's why I was knocking. What's that? I'm getting someone. Where she live? How you doing? Good. How's it going? I don't know where she's living. You don't know where she lives? Okay. Last thing I knew was across the street. Okay. Yeah, that's where her registration comes back to. Saw us that they don't live there. He said he lives across the street. This seemed to be a neighborhood that was familiar with a few of the cops on duty. The woman told officers that she was trying to call Sheay. But while this was happening, the cop who was in the car with Damian heard the boy say something that was alarming and telling. You know, you can get possessed by candy. Possessed. How so? Because if you like it too much and and you smell it, you might like your eyes out. Not like It's your first time eating this week. Mhm. When was the last time you ate? I ate many times, but not this time. Okay. Many times, but not this time. Not feeding your child for days is definitely child abuse. Maybe the candy the boy was describing might be the drugs he witnessed his mother use. The cops inside the building were getting suspicious. It seemed like the woman they were talking to knew more about Shay's whereabouts than she was letting on. And it turns out they were right. What's going on? Sh. You see, I just woke up. Um Damian said in a car that was turned off. What? What? You have son David? David? He was in my car? Yeah. What the? Who was in your car last? I was When was this? What? He was just Well, I could have sworn he was just call Uncle Y'all talk to my uncle. Yeah. He told him that he I thought he was. Let me get my code. We're We're bringing him right over here. He's just across the street. He at Uncle Froggy's house. No, he's in our squad right now. He in your squad car? Yeah. Come on. He's coming in. We're bringing him to you. Okay. How could you possibly forget that your child was inside a car? The officer outside got Damian ready to see his mother, but the cops inside still have way more questions and concerns about the child's safety in the future. When's the last time you were in your car? I was in my car. What time is it? It's what? 34 to 3. The last time I was in my car, I came back from Walmart. That was like 10. Yeah. My uncle came over everything. Yes, we went to a fun night and then I went to go get something to eat and then we went to Walmart and I came back. He was like fell asleep or something. Yes. I could have sworn he came in with the other kids. I pulled everything out the car, pulled one of my kids out the bag. Based on Sha's timeline, it looks like the boys spent five whole hours alone inside a freezing car. Chase said when they got back to the apartment, they all went to sleep and nobody noticed Damen was missing. Who was sitting next to him in the car? I don't know. I got stuff all in my car. Um, and y'all I had my kids in the back and she was in the front seat. Okay. But y'all can ask her cuz she was just knocked out. You saw him walk in with you? Coming back from the school. Coming back from the school. Yeah, cuz we went to school. Okay. And where'd you go after that? Uh here. Before we came here. Oh, no. We went to Walmart. Okay. And then we came. Do you remember seeing him get out of the car? What? 10. The cops told Shay they'll have to continue their investigation. So, they'll now check the apartment cameras and also the 7-Eleven cameras to see exactly what transpired. I don't know what the outcome of this is going to be. There's a potential that you could be charged with endangering of a child that he's been sleeping in the back of a van possibly for the past 5 hours. in the back seat of my car. My back of my trunk has boxes, these moving boxes in the back of my trunk. Okay, I get that. No, I'm just I'm just saying that that's a potential effect. I do have to notify Dip as of what happened tonight. So, they'll probably be in touch with you. Um, is this a good address for you right now? Okay. All right. I'll be in touch with you. Okay. All right. Thank you for bringing my voice to any problem. Thanks. Her car is right here. That car? Yeah, the car that he came out of. It's parked right here. I'm not going to be able to see it. Do you want me to come back and pay for that Kit Kat? I don't have my Are you sure? I guess I want to pay because he was crying. Do you want to leave all your property with her? You're going to be in and out in like 10 minutes. Completely up to I got to search you when you get in here. You don't really don't need anything. You want to just leave your call with her then? I don't have any record. I don't have anything to traffic. I don't have any cases with DCFS. I've never had a problem. I have nine kids and I've always had my children. With this woman having nine kids to look after, it's possible she was telling the truth. However, it still doesn't erase the fact that the boy had been placed in serious danger. It also doesn't change the fact that Sheay was the responsible party here. As a result, they charge the woman with child endangerment. No one in law enforcement wants to take kids away from their parents, but unfortunately, some parents can't be trusted. We can only hope that all these parents learn their lesson. Thanks for watching, and we'll see you next time.
