Eat my fat hairy ass fire. Hurry the up. I don't want to this. >> But he went this way. >> What are you doing? >> I you're doing I built the program. >> Yo, get back. Get back. Get back. Get back. Get back. Get back. >> Nobody gives a why you're tasked. >> Police work isn't all action. Depending on where an officer is assigned, they can have long stints with little to no action at all. But every once in a while, something crazy happens while they're on duty. And when it does, we get these body cam moments straight out of the movies. On the 2nd of May, 2023 in Wisconsin, the cops got a serious report. 39-year-old Harley Alcala was threatening a courthouse in Chipoa Falls and menacing its employees on Facebook. He was posting things one day prior to his appearance in court. He was scheduled for a custody hearing involving his daughter. The next day, investigators were able to ping his device and locate the man. >> Is he moving around in there? >> Yep. Right. He did. >> Driver, turn your vehicle off to now. Turn your vehicle off. Drop the keys out the window. Drop one on the ground. >> Drop the keys on the ground. >> Drop the keys on the ground. Step out of the vehicle. He's filming. I know you're filming. I know you're filming. Step out. I understand who you are. Harley, you need to step on right now. Harley, step on. We can talk. It quickly became apparent that Harley had no plans whatsoever of cooperating with orders. As a result, the regional SWAT team was called out. Soon after, a negotiations team member arrived on scene with the goal of deescalating things. >> Marley, my name is John. It sounds like there's a lot of I don't know everything that's going on. I want to hear what you're saying, but it's so hard to hear you. >> I'm sorry. You still there? >> No, there go ahead. >> Yeah. Hey, we're going to have traffic backed up all the way to Rice Lake. We're gonna have to do something with the traffic. >> I'm so sorry. I can't hear you very well. They're trying to call you, okay? I want to hear what you're saying cuz what you're saying is really important. Arley, could you call 911? You can record while you're on the phone. >> I want to be able to hear what you're saying. I'm recording, too. Okay. You can get a copy of that also. daughter. >> Some of the threatening statements he posted read like this. I'm showing up to get my daughter at 1:30. Ever see a courthouse shot up and in their lives if I don't walk out with my daughter. With such terroristic threats, the courthouse had to be put on lockdown. >> Right now, he's hanging outside the truck with his phone trying to yell back in the wind and he's filming us. Will you please come on and just talk to me? Okay. I promise I'll talk to you after. I don't make promises, but we'll talk about it. Yeah. And I want to keep it all good. I don't I didn't say you were. I don't think you are. I think you care about your daughter a lot. >> Hey, Joan. I got his phone number. >> Perfect. >> I'm going to call him. >> All right. You I've got it. Yeah. If you want to call and then I'll talk to him. >> The cops tried to call Harley to make communication easier. However, their calls went unanswered. Harley was trying to respond by yelling, but they were having a hard time hearing him. Meanwhile, the SWAT officers, a K-9 unit, two Bearecat armored vehicles, and officers equipped with less lethals were on their way. >> Back window a long ways from right here. >> Keeps going south or to voicemail. >> Arley, will you just pick up the phone? Myself and 414 are on road with less lethal consider strips under the tires. >> We can't get in front of it right now. >> All right. I don't want any of that to happen. >> Is there a dog in the car? >> Sounds good. >> There's a dog in the car also. He's want to talk if they can just keep him talking. >> Well, maybe that's something we can still do. We can still go to court. You seem like a good dad. >> Clarkson's route up there with the multi launcher. >> What do you think? I mean, we can pop a couple rounds into his car. He's got a dog in here. Or you want to wait for the team to roll up with a bearcat. >> I'm not in a rush. >> Long as we get traffic taken care of, we're good. >> We're working on the southbound traffic. >> The traffic backed up for miles as the officers tried to talk Harley down. In situations like these, it's not just the officers and suspects who are in harm's way. It's the general public, too. If bullets start flying, innocent bystanders are at risk of being hit by a stray bullet. The tenative plan is to bring the Bearcat up. They're going to cross over by that crossover right there. Pull the spikes shift. They can run that Bearcat right up here. As long as we maintain his attention, he's not going to see that Bearcat coming. >> Hey, Zach. Bearcat's on the He's going to be here probably in a half hour. He want to get our spikes ready. I mean, if you want to pull our cars forward, you can. They're going to come north on the south lane. But our plan is if he were to go, we got this lane. These lanes are He's not going to get anywhere without getting spiked here. >> He's right now. have uh one sniper that's on his way up there. He's just going to he's the first one on scene here for a sniper. So, he's going to go up there and I think just come up behind you guys and self- deploy. See if he can get four forward eyes or something. >> He's half hanging out of the vehicle, really intent on us yelling back at us. You might be able to get right up on his nose before he even realizes you're there. >> After negotiating for nearly an hour, the man still refused to cooperate. So, the officers took an offensive approach. The two bearcats and the SWAT team advanced, took a position behind the man's vehicle, and began negotiations. >> Talking a lot about God, maybe he wants and he will not be a sacrifice to talk to him. >> I sure do pass it. You guys probably thought of it, but you just getting Joan up there to talk to him. She talk to me for an hour and a half anyway. I'm going to have her come up here. Go. You had a good point. I think get me up there. Maybe I can go with the PA. We had a port going. They cover me up there. >> You can go south and northbound lanes and bring right right up here. >> Why don't you just take one? >> The officers were right. Joan had already built up a good rapport with Harley and it made sense for her to be the one to continue negotiations. With the Bearecat surrounding Harley's vehicle, doubling as a shield, Joan could finally talk to Harley face to face. like we're not we won't Okay, come out with with the blanket. You've made some good choices so far. We're not leaving. You know that. So far, I haven't lied to you and I. I've been very honest. We're not leaving. And you can believe that. Okay, >> Harley, how about you step out of the vehicle now? That that I can probably work with. I 100% don't think you're a bad guy. How about we fix this situation right here? Why don't we try that? Honestly, because there was there was threats that were made. That's why. [Music] >> Can you show me Can you show me how good of a guy you are? Could you just come out? That is a good guy. I think you can do that. With negotiation stretching past 90 minutes and traffic at a standstill, the cops got into position to deploy pepper balls into Harley's vehicle. The goal wasn't to hit the man, but to make it unbearable for Harley to stay in his vehicle any longer. >> Go ahead and deploy. >> Copy. Deploy now. >> Got at least got I got at least one in there. >> He got the window up, but we did get some pepper inside. >> Other side's open. Faster side. Windows open. Hands up. Hands up. Hands up. >> Doors open. >> Those pepper balls and that show of force did the trick. With conditions in his car quickly becoming unbearable, he had no choice whatsoever but to exit the vehicle. Considering what he just put the officers through. When he finally complied, he was lucky they treated him with kid gloves. >> Come here. Come on. Come here. I know. Come here. Come here. Come on. Turn your own face away from us. >> We won't. We won't. We won't. >> I got this. >> You got zips. We got cuffs. >> Don't hurt my dog. >> We're not going to hurt your dog. >> Can you breathe okay with that, Pepper? Are you doing okay? >> Okay. >> Do you have any weapons on your Harley? >> He's got the worst of something, right? >> Harley, do you have to >> I don't know what's going on, man. This is Dodge. >> There's going to be We'll get We'll talk to you. and get it figured out. Okay, Harley, bro. >> Thanks for coming out, guys. >> We appreciate it. >> Yeah, in custody. >> All right, let's bring him back. Bring him back. >> Hi, buddy. I sold myself. All my money is uh >> Okay. >> Do you have any weapons heard? >> No, nothing. I don't I don't have >> Harley said that he didn't even like weapons. Essentially, he said that he just felt that threats were the only way to be heard. And after the cops promised that no harm would come to his dog Zeus, Harley was placed in the back of a squad car without further incident. >> Here, I'll be right back. >> We were just talking. This is the guy 53 till somebody gets here. At least we can chat with us. >> They have some in there. >> Pepper balls up. >> I know. I get you. All right. So, we got to hang out here for a little bit, but I'm going to take this off. Give you a little There is like a We can flood, you know, flush out anything if you want to do that. >> It might reactivate it. That's the thing. Might go out on your eyes. >> Really? Well, and nobody got hurt, right? >> No, this is believe in God. >> I believe in something. Maybe not that. But >> you don't believe in Jesus Christ? >> Not necessarily. Faith. >> I'll be Yeah. Faith. >> Everything happens for a reason. >> Yeah. Some of that. Yep. >> Isn't at the time, right? >> Cuz I'm fearless. I don't fear death, >> right? >> And and that's what it's about. I'm not a bad person, but yeah, some crazy going on. I mean, literally got two states not letting me go, >> right? >> That's all it's coming down to. Two states not letting me go. Mhm. >> And I'm not a bad guy and I've done nothing wrong. It's over jealousy and my daughter. >> All right. Well, let's head over here. >> All right. >> I don't smoke. I don't >> It It's That pepper ball can get a little rough to >> That was No, you guys had to give me a nice dose. It's not what you use on the street. No way. >> Just have a have a seat there. >> Hello. How you doing? >> I'm all right. Have a sip of water cuz I've been yelling and talking for hours. Everything's covered in pepper spray or pepper ball. So, this is covered in pepper ball. So, >> I appreciate you guys being nice to me. >> Yeah, >> I'm going to put this on you. >> They charged the man with felony counts of making terroristic threats, battery, threat to an officer times two, threat to injure, accused of crime, and they eventually set his cash bond at $100,000. A few months later, however, they reduced the bond to 20,000. This adjustment ultimately led to his arrest 9 months later after he violated the terms of his bond which earned the man more charges. On May 13th, 2023 in Winterhaven, Florida, the cops responded to reports of a burglary in progress at a check cashing business. Just moments before the cops arrived, the suspect had fled. Where is he at? >> Did he leave? >> He left already. Did you see which way he went? >> White guy. Black guy. >> What was he wearing? >> He left. >> T-shirt. >> Wearing a gray t-shirt. So, black male. Gray t-shirt. Possibly black shorts. He leave on foot. >> Yep. He had to. He looked like he was on. >> Okay. But he went this way. >> What are you doing? >> Talk about a scene straight from a movie while the officer talked to the employee. The suspect fled out back and stole the officer's patrol car with his canine partner inside. The officer then took after him on foot and was picked up by another patrol car. Come on. [Music] >> Where's that? >> Which has 580. My car was stolen. Track my car. >> Tell us where it's at. Can you move? [Music] >> That was a police car that I saw that hit almost, didn't it? Yep. [Music] [Music] Hey, where are they at? >> Hey, where are they at? >> They spotted the vehicle abandoned beside a park. They quickly spoke to a passerby who pointed the officers in the right direction. Thankfully, it wasn't too long before the cops found who they were looking for. And let's just say that by the time they caught up with him, they were less than impressed. >> Get down. Get down. Get down now. Get down. Get on the ground. >> Turn over. Turn over. Turn over. Where's the car? >> Logan's over there. >> Go get my dog. I got >> go. >> We're not beating on him. >> You can watch all you want, ma'am. >> How you guys going? >> Everybody, slow down. We got him. >> Somebody go to my car. Get my dog. >> Don't drive any more forward, please. I ain't going nowhere with video cuz I'm black and I >> With the onlookers here continuing to berate the officers for how they were treating the suspect. He was handcuffed and led away. While the civilians had good intentions, it's important to understand that sometimes the cops have to use force to apprehend people, especially if they're potentially dangerous. [Music] We got him. We got him. >> Up against. >> Sorry. >> Anything on you to stick me? Poke me hard. >> No sir. No sir. No sir. No sir. Nothing. You need >> gloves. not handc. Watch your head. Watch your hands. Okay. Watch your hands. >> Roll the window up. Roll the window down. >> Move your leg over, man. Move your leg over. There you go. Right there. >> Before the suspect came to a stop in the stolen squad car, he damaged multiple vehicles and terrified pedestrians. As a result, there were some very traumatized civilians left in his wake. Next, the cop spoke to witnesses and collected statements. >> What's wrong? >> What hurts? >> Nothing hurts. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Deep breath in. >> I'm sorry. I'm I'm an EMT myself, so >> you're okay. >> Did someone steal your car? >> Don't mind my bud. >> Someone's car. >> So, scared the [ __ ] out of me. >> Yes, ma'am. >> He broke my window. It's fine. >> I was just sitting at the stop or the stop light and then next thing I know I just get hit like full on hit by a police car, but it was the guy who stole the cop car. Whoever was in front of me I hit a little bit because he like hit me and then he kept going. The cops identified the suspect and informed the man that EMS was on the way. However, due to his reckless actions, they'd have a lot of innocent people to treat. While it was bad, it could have been worse. At least nobody was killed. >> Still in the mix of it, and everybody is 77 so far, but we had a 21 in progress. The suspect stole Garcia's car and crashed the heck out of it. >> Hey. Hey, look at me. Deep breath. Deep breaths in through your nose, >> out through your mouth. >> What are they saying? Can you tell me what they're saying? >> Uh, she just asked if you guys >> Yes, ma'am. Officer Pigeon's here. >> I'll put it on speaker. >> Okay. Thank you. >> You're welcome. >> All right. And husband's on the phone. >> Yeah. >> All right. >> Are you injured anywhere? >> Hi, this is Officer Pigeon. I'm here with your wife. >> Yes. >> Yes. She's She's glad she's breathing. She's just a little worked up and we've got her. >> While the cops continued talking to witnesses, the paramedics fanned out, it started treating the injured. And while he was responsible for a lot of injuries that night, the suspect was among the first to receive treatment. >> They want him to step out. [Music] >> He's got a taser. Is it your left hand or your right hand? It's >> my left hand. I'm loose with it. >> Face the car. >> Lean forward a little bit. >> All right. Twist your hand to your right. Twist it. Just twist it. Just twist it. >> The cops in EMS certainly had their work cut out for them. Remember, there were two crime scenes they had to deal with already. Other officers returned to the business to continue investigating and figure out how the suspect fled. >> He broke the window, ran across the street, and then when y'all came in, >> Yeah. >> when they went in, he came running back across the street. >> Oh, wow. >> Jumped in the car, and that's when he took off. There's two bricks or cement blocks, I should say. >> Yeah. Over on the corner. >> The uh So, he threw the crew. >> Yeah. And then he tried breaking the secured window with one as well because you could see the impact strike >> um on the secured window, >> but she was out the one girl was out here mopping cuz the store was already closed. She's out here mopping. He's beating on the door. >> She got a good visual >> and and she's like, "What the?" And then she's just like, "We're closed." And we're back inside. Well, she fall back inside to empty the bucket. That's when the door shatters. >> Wow. And she's she hadn't initially locked the door going into the back. Yeah. >> And so she came running around freaking hit the the buttons to lock everything down. So they were both inside the security area. They're under They're literally still even with me here underneath the counter. >> The employees were shaken but thankfully safe. Their stories matched up with what the other officer said. The officer asked one of the female staff if she could ID the suspect because she'd gotten a good look. She reluctantly agreed. >> Hey, step out. >> I'm going to ask you if you see him, but don't you don't have to identify him right now. >> The back of the truck. back. [Music] >> Can you see him? >> Okay. Is that him? >> Okay. 10. >> What do you think? >> 109. You have a void. >> That's 104 positive identification. Fantastic. >> Watch your head. Yes, sir. Except for some trauma and some minor injuries. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured that night. On the 18th of August, 2023, a police officer had to drive through a wildfire during an evacuation. While the stakes were high, the officer did his best to get as many people out of the danger zone as quickly as possible. on fire. >> 10. I'm back to my car. I'm headed south on Jefferson, Oregon. >> South on Jefferson. >> L502502. Go ahead. >> Emergency traffic only. I want you to roll call everybody. I don't care about addresses being checked. >> Copy. Adam 503. >> It's coming our way fast. >> Look at that. >> The flames were spreading rapidly, but the officer refused to retreat and go home. He wanted to rescue as many people as possible before the entire area became engulfed in flames, smoke, and dangerous fumes. That being said, locating these people first would be the biggest challenge. >> We have eyes on 503. Copy. >> Go go go go go. >> Holy fire just jumped the road at 13717. The president there is angle. 127 balls, man. >> You fire you. You're not getting me today, mother. Eat my fat hairy ass. Fire. Hurry the up. Nave. I don't want to this. >> The surrounding area looked like a scene from hell. And there's no doubt whatsoever that the officer's language was coarse. Given the circumstances, it was completely understandable. The flames crept in from every side, and any delay here could spell certain to anyone out there. >> 1022 chain links, one adult male, one adult female sheltering in place. What was the address that we needed to check? >> Hurry up wasn't answering her phone. >> I believe it was one, two, it's 121. 514 your status. >> Holy [ __ ] >> that was hairy. >> 515. >> Hurry the [ __ ] up, lady. >> The wind was picking up causing the fire to spread quickly. Forest fires are known to change directions in an instant, making things very unpredictable. During dry spells, the amount of damage a fire can do is astronomical. >> Hurry the up. It's coming our way. >> Lincoln 518, your status. >> Copy. >> It's headed right for us. >> It's headed right for us, man. I was just there. Zebra 69. >> Unless you want to die. >> Copy. >> Hurry up and get the out. >> Go. >> I have a battery powered in there. It's not hooked up yet. >> Go. It was officially panic time. People were running and driving around like chickens with their heads cut off. And who could blame them? Everywhere they turned, another road was blocked off by flames. Like the officers said, they had to get out of there fast. 13 for 10. I see you're still in that really hot zone. Have you Are you clear of that? >> I'm trying to get some idiots turned around. They're trying to go right into it. I'm clear of the hot zone right now. Uh I'll find an address when I can for where I'm at. >> Just keep continuing south on Jackson. It clears up. >> Copy. We'll do. Go ahead. >> Fire is going south of Oregon. So they're going level three south from Oregon. Uh the bridges then Madison track of Oregon. The officer continued driving and then came across a group of scared citizens who clearly needed help. Due to the speed of the fire, it seemed that everyone had to leave things behind. After all, they were only human and they were no match for the flames. >> 695 copy. We're working that. >> Thank you, bro. I was so worried about you. Are you okay? >> I know you're probably like sad for your horses right now, bro. I'm glad you're alive. >> Okay, >> I get it. You did. >> We were in the good spot. >> You did everything you could. You did everything you could. Okay. Head up that way. All right. God bless you. All right. >> I'm so glad you're okay, bro. >> What's your name? >> I'm Brit. It's coming our way still. So, move that way. Okay. >> Excuse me, sir. >> What's up, man? >> I said I parked at my sim at the Wheelers. I was on Fr. I moved my se my at the Wheelers place. Parked down here. Can I please go back and get where Mark Wheelers? >> It'sing coming this way, man. >> Yeah, I know. We I just saw I was I lost my house on Friger and that's how I move mobile homes. That's my livelihood. >> Hey. Hey. >> Do you have insurance on it? >> No. >> Okay. >> Can I please sneak over this? >> I don't want you. >> I don't either. I mean, I'll turn around. The guy Wheeler said >> it's coming our way. >> Wheeler said >> when I got onto this road, I was >> back there. I can't get him out. >> Where's he at? >> She's on Oregon. >> The gray house with the bright pink hot. >> What's the address? >> A police officer's work is never done. Following the woman's description, the officer hopped in his squad car and drove right back into the hot zone. It was a long shot, but hopefully the flames had not made their way to her father's home. >> Adam, I got a person on Oregon. I said, Wilson and RTS are bringing up the rear. Adam 510. Who are you with? >> I was at that house earlier. >> Big 16300. Although it's a given that cops lives are always at risk in the line of duty, going back into the hot zone definitely took some serious courage and was pretty heroic. On the 24th of August 2023, officers were dispatched to the scene of an accident after a man drove his Corvette into a ditch. When they arrived on scene, the man attempted to write the whole thing off as just a minor traffic accident that didn't require police involvement. You all right? >> Oh, we meet again. >> Yeah, >> I'm doing something good. >> You okay? >> Said he is. >> You heard it all. >> Joel. Hey, >> my house is where he got pulled out. Five kids wanted so many bowl sandwiches. I'm like, >> did you see what happened, sir? >> No. You see what happened? >> No. No. I just came up upon him. >> You had been down there. >> So, I was going to call his wife. He don't even have his phone. you hurt or anything or are you all right? >> No. >> All right, I'll see you. You're good. Thank you. Just Just so you know, I'm recording my body cam. All right. >> Of course. >> The driver, Joel, claimed he lived around the corner and just ran out to get his kids some meatball sandwiches. He said he swerved off the road to avoid a Porsche that was driving recklessly. The problem was he was slurring his words, causing the officer to think that he might be under the influence. >> How do you feel? You have anything to drink or anything like that? No, I had uh I had a beer at like what, like 12:00? >> Beer at 12:00. >> But then I had I had to I had to do three workouts. >> Three workouts. >> Yep. Three workouts with three different fighters. If I sound lightheaded cuz I need sugar. >> You said you feel what, >> dude? I'm lightheaded. I anything I need sugar. >> Sugar. >> So when I came out, I'm like, "Okay, guys, you want this? Gotcha." They're like, "Hit me up with some Waw Wa. Get us some meatball." They wanted Everybody in the whole house is like, "Meatball sandwiches." >> I got you. >> My guys >> here, Joel, why don't you just come up here? >> I just want to get you out of the ditch. >> The officer reassured Joel that a tow truck was on the way. At that point, Joel told the officer that inside his vehicle, there were some open containers of alcohol. However, Joel said that his friends had left them there. He also claimed to have had two drinks, but it was several hours back. >> So, it's a Z-51. She's fine. She's good. >> Yeah. I was going to say I think there's a little damage up front, but that's probably it. >> Look, you're freaking me out. >> No, no, no, no, no. >> No. Joel, listen. I'm just I'm just assuming Look, I see the tree. That's what I'm guessing. >> I know, but can you show me? >> No, no, no, no. Joel, don't do that. Don't do that. >> Just leave it cuz we're going to yank it off anyway, >> brother. Please, >> Joel. I got a tow truck coming. >> I know that with my car. I respect you, but please shut the up. >> All right, let's go back up here. >> No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. >> She has to be turned off. >> All right, turn it off. >> What is it? push to start. >> Yep. >> All right, perfect. >> Joel was getting progressively annoyed with the officer and the police presence in general. And when the officer told him that they had suspicions he might have had more to drink, that's when things took a turn for the worse. >> So, here's the deal. Okay, like I said, I'm not going to lie to you. I'm not sure. >> There is a couple of things that we don't have to follow through with today, though. Okay, so you did see me. All right. So, nobody's going to jail today. Like you said, you're not going to jail. You're going to go to jail. You're not going to jail. Okay. Jail is county. >> If you guys want to jail today, >> right? You have to >> You're not going to jail. >> You have to go on truth. >> We're done. This subject on the greatest behavior. >> This is not my fault. >> I'm trying to get my kids. >> Reluctantly, Joel agreed to do some field sobriety tests, but sadly it only made things worse. He kept advancing on the officers and making threats and crazily inviting the cops to fight him. He also said that his joints were bad, so the test they were doing would inevitably provide bad results. >> Wall start these six deployments. >> Two and a half years to start wall. >> It's cool that you have a holster, but you know what? You really have a holster for me. >> You understand that, right? I do. >> Do you understand that? >> Shut the up. Shut the You're not in control. Can I tell you something? You're too young. Shut the up. You use your pistol out. No, you're not. It's my pistol. >> None of that's happening. >> Would I ever do that? Not in a million years. It's mine. >> It's mine. And guess what? I am a six timeing marksman who's been through sniper school and everything else. Do you really want to play that game? Are you thating stupid? No. >> Are you that stupid? Buck off. >> Is I love me some confrontation. I've been in the cage. I've been in the ring. I've been in a combat since combat tours. You you athal mother. >> It was beginning to look like this guy wasn't going anywhere without a fight. And we've got to give the officers credit. Considering the circumstances, they were being more than polite and doing everything they could to deescalate things. But unfortunately, Joel wasn't going to let them. >> Deescalate, you [ __ ] >> Deescalate. You're amplifying everything. Shut the body. >> Listen, we're just sitting here talking. Okay, >> you're talking to someone who has PTSD on four combat doors that we're going to special off to the green race who doubled their record on any web caches and saved little tin being cut in half. and you're challenging me. >> Joel claimed that law enforcement had nothing to do with this. But sadly for him, drinking and driving is against the law. And when you're acting like an angry drunk, the cops have every right to call you out. The officers then prepared to make their move. >> I'm sorry. Who said that's it? >> I don't want you out of here, you play. Stop. Stop it, Joel. >> Stupid. >> Stop it, Joel. >> Stop. >> Your boys are doing it, not me. >> Joel, you need to relax. >> Get the out of here. >> This is not what you want to do in the middle of Tucker Road in the town you live in. >> You want to bet? >> It's not. This is where you live. >> This isn't what you want to do with me here live. >> I trained all this you're doing. I built the program. >> Yo, get back. Get back. Get back. >> Get back. Get back. Nobody gives a by your taser. You >> being hit by a taser had absolutely no effect on him. Surprisingly, it was beginning to look like he was just as tough as he said he was. The cops continued giving him orders, but they were nowhere close to a resolution. >> I want you to get down on the ground so we can go. >> I have broken no laws. >> Why can't we reach a resolution without this [ __ ] clogging up traffic on one of the main roads? There's no reason we can't talk. There's no reason we can't reach your resolution. But you want a confrontation. You want to escalate. >> I'm not escalating. >> But you are. You are. You dumb. >> Are you trying to beat me to the videos? >> Yeah. Joel. >> Yeah, you are. >> No. >> Yeah, you are. >> Video's been playing the whole time. >> Tas me. >> No. >> Tas me. >> Joel. I'm not tasing you. >> Tas me. >> No. >> I've broken no laws. >> Then you're going to get down on the ground. You're going to put your hands behind. >> I'm not. I broken no laws. >> We are going to ride to the police station. >> I've broken no laws. Then that's a fight for a different day. >> Wrong >> in court. >> Me going off road is not your business being off road. No, >> you respond. It wasn't a traffic accident. Was there a traffic accident reported to you? >> Was there a traffic accident reported to you? >> Yes, we got multiple calls for it. >> Bull. >> You can pull the records. >> Trust me, I have a guy who will. >> After hearing about the situation, the man's wife arrived on scene. For her safety, the officers wouldn't let her speak to Joel face to face. However, she tried to talk some sense into him over the phone. >> You there? >> Please stop. >> I'm not doing anything. These motherers have like 20 cops on one cuz that's what I need to feel powerful cuz not one can do a thing by themselves. >> Why don't you close your eyes and say prayer? >> For what? To make them go away. has unto me. >> Anastasia, I was going to get you meatball sandwiches. >> Are you serious right now? Whatever you guys want, >> Joel. Put your hands behind your back. >> What's that? >> Can you take my phone? >> I'm not I'm not going to hurt you. Not going to hurt you. If you're going to be compliant, we won't put you on the ground. >> Turn around. Turn around. >> What did I say? Okay. I promise. >> If you guys start getting aggressive, we're going to get frightened. Be polite. >> You got two. Back off. Back off and be polite. >> Do you want two cuffs so your shoulders aren't off and reset? >> All right. When you're ready. >> All righty. You ready? >> Can you >> Do you want a second set of cuffs to make it a little less lightly for you? >> Here. I'm going to give them to the office. Your >> cuff got torn. Absolutely. >> You just have De Biosi with you who you actually like your hand. All right. >> Yeah, man. Thank you, sir. Here comes the other handcuff. >> After everything he put the officers through, all it took was a call from his wife to deescalate things and get Joel to cooperate. After they searched the man, he was placed in the back of a cruiser without further incident. >> You guys are not responding properly. >> We can address that a different day. >> And there's so many ways you can do better. >> Okay? And you're not going to deal with anybody nastier than me as far as someone that's going to hurt you. I don't want to hurt any of you. >> I'll get a sandwich for the kids. >> I'll get it for you. >> Don't you dare. >> Okay then. >> Hold on. This is based on what? Breath. >> Yeah, we'll go back. We'll give you the option to blow. You can refuse if you would wish, but the state requires you to. Listen, we'll read the literature there. So, not out here. >> Hold on. I will ask right now because I have every legal right. >> If I refuse blowing the breath, what happens? You'll be you'll be issued an additional summon for refusing to blow into the machine. >> That's fine right now. >> Just tickets. Okay. >> Take a seat right there. >> They charged Joel with DUI, resisting arrest, and aggravated assault on an officer. He was also cited for refusing to submit to a breathalyzer. On the 25th of March, 2023 in Broward County, Florida, a woman approached a sheriff's deputy at a thrift store and said that her vehicle along with her bulldog was stolen from the parking lot. >> Oh my god, my dog. >> It was right here. >> Right here, like next to this right here. Oh my god. I'm going to think. It was right here. >> Are you sure you left the lock, honey? >> I'm sure. >> You didn't leave it running so the dog could get air? >> I left air. Wait, so you left the keys in the ignition? >> No, I have the keys over here. >> So then how did you leave the keys running? How did you leave the air? >> The car was on. >> That's what I'm saying. So you left the keys. >> I did hit the key. The key was with you. >> Did you push to start? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So you left the car with >> I locked the car. >> That dog is my baby. >> The woman didn't seem to care too much for her vehicle. The only thing she was concerned about was getting her dog back. With the vehicle description, the cops were now on the hunt. And before too long, they spotted the vehicle. >> Unlock the door. >> Unlock the door. >> Put it in park. >> 1919, bro. Where's the dog? >> Where's the dog? >> The dog was nowhere in sight. However, with a fresh baggie of on the seat next to the woman, the cops had a suspicion that the suspect made a pit stop before they caught up with her. It's no secret that addicts will do anything for a fix, and swapping a dog for was not too far-fetched. Where where's the dog? >> I don't have a dog. >> There was a dog in the car. Where' the dog? >> No. Stop pushing that. I don't have a dog. >> I don't know. There was no dog in there. >> You got anything on you? Any stems? Anything? >> No. No joke. Take a seat. >> There was no dog. >> Yo, ask her. >> She said she doesn't know. >> Ma'am, all we're worried about is the dog right now. There's a missing dog. >> I don't There was no dog. The car was sitting there and had the doors open and it was running and there was no dog in there. >> There was no dog in the car. >> No dog in the car. >> As the cops read the woman her rights, they began questioning her again about the dog's whereabouts. However, she stuck to her story, saying when she stole the vehicle, there was no dog inside. But if she thought that would stop the officers from asking questions, she had another thing coming. >> When I got in there, there was no dog in that car. Sure. >> See him just tell you >> that's nothing to charge. I'm We just want to find the dog. >> We don't care. We don't want to charge. We want to find the dog. >> As soon as there's a dog, I want to make sure the dog comes back. That's really what we're worried about. >> And look what charges. >> There's no dog charge. >> No. On the grandft. >> Yeah. If we if we find a dog, we will help you out. >> No, that's all she cares about. She's the >> Okay. So, she won't charges where she car if I get the dog. >> I have no idea. >> Can you go and ask her? That's you. >> Are you saying that you have >> No, I'm not saying nothing. But she has to be the one to press charges that I stole a car for me to go to jail. Listen, if you tell me where the dog is, I will help you out by talking to it in the best of my ability. >> And then I'll be like, "Go." >> You know, every time we help you out as much as we could. >> I know that, but I don't want to go to jail with this. I can't because I'll go to prison for 15 years. >> I understand that. So, give me a chance to help you. But if you're just running me, >> I can't take you guys there to get it. >> Because she's a victim. So, at the end of the day, >> I can't take you there to get it. >> Why house? >> Because Are you crazy? Do you want me to die? >> So, tell me where it's at. >> No, I can't do that. >> The woman then changed her story. Essentially, she confessed to knowing where the dog was, but she asked the cops if she could retrieve it alone so as to not give the appearance that she was ratting out her dealing acquaintances. When the officers told her that wasn't going to happen, she tried to use the dog as leverage to lessen her charges. >> Give me the dog. I just need the dog. Give me the dog. I don't charge you the thing. >> All right. So, what happens if you get the dog? I >> This is not a negative. >> No, I'm not. I'm asking you a question. >> I just want the dog. >> I'm asking you a question. If you don't get the dog, I still go to jail now. I explain you. We get the dog. We're going to help you out to the best of our better. >> What does that mean exactly? >> Whatever you wanted it to mean. >> Well, like I go to jail right now. >> I have no idea. First of all, that's not my decision. I got to run by my sergeant. I'll talk to the victim. We're just worried about the dog. >> We get the dog. You're not going to tell me. >> I don't want I don't want I don't want to find this dog two days or sold or somewhere crazy. >> Well, if it's trapped, then you know where the dog is at. >> It's not being tracked. >> Tell them. >> It was an incredibly selfish move. The victim here loved her dog. The cops got her vehicle back, but all she wanted was to get her dog back. No matter what, there was no way the cops were going to return the vehicle without her dog inside. >> So, just give me the dog and that's it. And we are not going to show you with the drugs. And maybe she doesn't even want to anything to you. Just give me the dog. We need the dog. >> I don't care about the car. I need the dog. >> Okay. All right. >> Where's the dog? >> But I don't want to be charged with >> No, you're not going to be charged. We don't care about that. We just need the dog. She wants the dog. I if you say steal my dog, I would be dying right now. I just want my dog. >> You know, that's her that's her like assistant. I thought >> Yeah. >> All right. It's on I don't know the exact street, but um you take third down or like right after. Okay. It was a um nursery is >> at the nursery. The street after the nursery on >> Dixie. Take that down to third. It's a house on the left. >> The woman admitted she traded the dog for and left it at the trap house. Since strung out meth heads are known for their ability to take care of pets, there was no telling how much time the officers had before something bad happened to the dog. >> So why they have the dog? >> Cuz I couldn't I >> You just gave it to them. >> Yeah. >> Who are we going to run into over there? >> I don't know. >> We are going to tell her that you helped us out, but you need to help us out. >> I am telling you the last thing I need you guys. >> So relax. >> Okay. When you pass, if you're coming north on Dixie pass, okay, >> there's a nursery that's going to be on the right hand side. You know I'm talking about passing, >> right? Oh, the Bay Nursery 21st. >> Yes, we'll make that. >> You don't make this turn right next to the mechanic. >> So, the 20th Street. >> Yes. >> Trading someone's dog for was unspeakable. With an address to work with, they confronted the homeowners. The suspect had better hope that the dog was okay because if it wasn't, she was definitely going to be facing some serious additional charges. >> How you doing, bro? Are you seeing a loose dog somewhere here? >> What? >> A a dog? >> Yeah, I see one dog. Where is it? >> Somewhere there. >> Where? >> The smoke. >> Yeah, it's just a one thing. I see it. I said somebody lost it. >> Where is it? Do you see it? >> I just put it somewhere. >> Oh, there you go. >> Proble 19. You're going to have the dog. Somebody stole the dog. >> I left them. >> Well, I stole the stole the car with the dog. I left. >> Good news. They have your dog. >> They're on their way back here with the dog. Okay. >> I lost my son not long ago. >> Sorry to hear you. This dog has been everything for me and I wouldn't live if I lost him too. >> I feel the same way about my dog. I feel the same way. >> Seeing the joy on the victim's face when she heard the cops had located her dog was truly heartwarming. The suspect was taken to the station for processing and was given a chance to explain why she did what she did. >> Obviously, you know why you're here, right? Let's talk about the car. Why? >> Uh I was desperate. I'm out in the streets now. Um it was running. It was just an opportunity. I don't know why I did it. >> All right. So, you see that, open it, jump it in the driver's seat, >> and take off. >> All right. Take off from there. And then where do you go? >> Um there there was a dog in the back seat. I took and I said I dropped the dog. I said, "Listen, just hold this dog cuz I didn't really want nothing bad to happen to the dog." >> Where where did you bring the dog to? >> Um I don't know the exact I let them know. I showed them. I'm sure they got it by now. >> All right. So, they already have the dog. >> I'm sure. >> Okay. Whose house was that? >> Um one of my friends parents house, I guess. Did they get the dog back? Yes. Right. >> Yeah. >> I knew that. >> So that that was it. >> Yeah. And then I got I got caught up. >> The suspect apologized to the officer and said that stealing wasn't something she was typically involved in. But the officer reminded her that she'd been booked several times for stealing, including for grand theft auto and retail theft not too long ago. >> Don't worry, man. >> Hi. >> You stand up for me. You're just going to put your hand behind your back and put your thumbs closest to your body like you're praying. Am >> I going to jail? >> Yes, ma'am. >> I'm going downtown. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Why? So you could go. You >> said they were going to release me. Can I make a call just to tell maybe when I'm going down there to point blind? >> You don't mean you can call when you get there? >> I know, but can I just call and you get the call for me? >> Just to your left. While the suspect here might have truly forgotten about her previous charges, most likely she won't forget this one. On the 7th of April, 2024 in Bay County, Florida, the cops were called to a Walmart due to a theft in progress. When they arrived on scene, they were informed by Loss Prevention that male and female suspects were trying to exit the store with unpaid merchandise through a rear entrance. Come here. Where's your buddy? >> I'm sorry. >> Where's your buddy? >> I'm sorry. >> Where's your buddy? >> My buddy? >> Yeah. The guy you were in here with. Don't [ __ ] me. The guy that took off running. Where'd he go? >> Took off running. >> For what? >> What's his name? Cuz y'all stealing. That's why. >> No, I He I swear to God I was not stealing. >> What's his name? >> Dash. >> Dash. What's his last name? >> Um I'm not sure what his last name is. I swear to God, I don't know. >> Okay, come to my car. >> The officer wasn't buying what the suspect was saying for one moment. Since she had shopping bags on her, she was asked by the officer to empty everything on the pavement. She cooperated and also claimed to have a receipt that would prove she hadn't stolen. >> What's the stuff you got in the bag? >> This is stuff that I paid for right here. I got my receipt. stuff you paid for, huh? >> Yes. >> I swear to God. Promise. >> Okay. You got ID? >> Yes, sir. >> Oh, wait. Actually, no, I don't. I swear cuz I just switched wallets, so I don't. My name's Misty Mosley, though. >> How does it spell Mosley? >> M O S E L E Y. You on probation or anything like that? >> No, sir. >> While the officer was busy questioning the woman, Misty, another officer, was inside Walmart reviewing security footage and looking for Misty's accomplice, Dash. When she was pressed about his full name, Misty said she didn't know, which was a little bit strange considering she said they were roommates. While she denied stealing anything, the video footage said otherwise. >> Did uh the other half 32 anything? >> Did you steal anything? They both did, right? Yeah. Yeah. They both 32. >> She should have fishing lures and stuff on her. >> All right. Stand up. Put on your >> back. >> You're detained right now. >> Turn around. >> Any prior theft charges? >> No, sir. >> Ever missed the court date? >> No. Oh, yes, sir. >> Okay. The footage showed the woman disappearing into a bathroom with unpaid items and then exiting the building without them. The implication being, of course, that they were hidden in her bag. As the cops began to search through her belongings, Misty asked if she could stretch her legs. >> Thank you. You can >> lean up just against the backs. [Music] [Music] Yes, sir. >> Go around the front. She's running. >> I got to go. >> Better stop. >> One of the officers chased Misty on foot while his partner got behind the wheel and joined the chase. They eventually cornered her and in a lastditch effort to escape, she ran out into the road and almost got hit by a truck. It was a really stupid move that could have cost her her life. Stop running. >> Stop running. Stop running. >> Stop running. Stop running. Turn around. >> Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. >> You're done now. >> Put them on tight. She slipped my cuff. >> Sorry. >> No, you're not. Sorry. >> You're sorry now. >> I can't breathe. >> Please let me sit. >> You're talking fine. >> Shut up. >> Okay. Yes, sir. >> While she was in the back of the cruiser, she somehow managed to slip a handcuff off, which was why she could run as far as she did. After a brief struggle on the ground, the cops got the cuffs on her again. Only this time, they were a little bit tighter. >> I'm sorry. >> Bull standing. >> I'm really hurt. What'd you do that for? >> You turned a misdemeanor into something a lot worse. >> You got a warrant? >> Absolutely not. >> I got a fire coming to check on your hands and them up and stuff. >> Thank you. >> Well, now you're definitely going to jail. >> You log it. Probably >> just going to get an NCA. >> Good way to confirm you're going to jail. >> Yeah. >> Where's your friend going? Where's your friend? >> I have no idea. I don't know. While they searched the woman, two of the officers went back to the spot where they initially encountered her to search her belongings. During the chase, she'd fallen over several times and was covered in cuts and bruises. While they waited for EMS, the cops did a bit of first aid to patch her up. >> I'm sorry. >> Is she good? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Just lean against the car. >> I think it's this finger. >> Yeah, >> she just cursed. Make a fist. Hold it like that. >> Thank you. >> Y'all have the female, but the male went off into the woods. >> 104 said that he was westbound on seventh. He got past Bob Little. They lost sight of him. Don't know if he went north, south, or west. Uh, we posted a picture of him. So, they're thinking he may have ditched the bike. We went to the Taylor Drive address that they just have to check out. We know there's a million bikes out there. We don't see one matching. >> Misty was secured again in the back of a cruiser. Now, she was claiming that she didn't ditch any of the stolen merchandise, saying it was all in the bag that the officer was searching. Meanwhile, one of the cops went back inside Walmart to tally up the amount of stolen goods. 471 to 4621. >> Go ahead. >> So, the total list of both of the items that they stole is $494, but they don't have the amount that was in her bags that she never that they that they didn't get to scan. >> Well, do they know what she's cuz she's got like makeup and all kinds of other stuff in here. And you're kind of going to need to get us a list so we can figure out what's theirs and what's hers. If it was in the bag, then it was hers. But they haven't scanned it and it hasn't been added to the receipt. >> Yeah. All the stuff in her only stuff that's in her bag is stuff she has a receipt for in a Walmart bag. >> You got a bunch of electronics. >> Do they Is there electronics? >> No. Looks like makeup. Um some glue. Uh a lot of cosmetics. >> Everything that's in the that I sent is the items that they're saying is stolen. >> She's pretty quick, too, man. >> Gives you wings. >> The cops did discover some stolen merchandise from Misti. But it was her accomplished dash who made off with most of the best stuff. But during the search, the cops discovered the real reason why Misty made a run for it. >> Hey, what's this going to be? >> So, he wasn't on a bike. >> What is that? >> It's some white crystals, which I'm sure is What are the pills? >> It's a cool torch. Um, I think Advil maybe. I don't know for sure though. >> Okay, we'll find out. >> Advil. >> I doubt it's Advil then. >> So, he wasn't on a bike. >> Whatever. We got what we >> Okay. So, the the y'all's place by Taylor Drive. That means you think he went there or not? >> I have no idea. I've been there a million times for other folks. >> Does he have anywhere else you would go in Springfield? >> I don't know. >> Yeah, maybe this. What do you use? >> I use uh and um sometimes I do little sometimes. >> Okay. >> Misty was taken to the station for processing. This time, however, there would be no stopping along the way for her to stretch her legs. On the 20th of February, 2025 in Flaggler County, Florida, the sheriff's office was notified by the Semino County Sheriff's Office that a silver Corvette stolen from their jurisdiction was in Flaggler County and was spotted in Palm Coast, Florida. Deputies found the stolen Corvette unoccupied and parked at a gas station. But uh we got eyes on it. We'll come around here. 14. It looks like it's unoccupied right now. >> Copy. Vehicle unoccupied. >> Dispatch has been >> firefight. Just keep an eye on the back as well in case anyone runs out the back of the store. >> When two of the three male suspects emerged from the gas station convenience store, they spotted law enforcement and quickly jumped into a second vehicle. a silver Nissan and sped away, abandoning the stolen Corvette. [Music] Copy. No pursuit. Authorized. Back off, but fire. [Music] They're going through a building here. [Music] >> Okay. Appreciate that. They continued driving recklessly through busy streets and for safety reasons, the deputies stopped the pursuit. However, a police helicopter kept a visual on the suspects and through coordination, the cops on the ground disabled the vehicle using spike strips. >> I got six just north of the roundabout. >> The radio is on behind it. unit. I'll show you in a second here. We're engaging traffic. Uh [Music] >> Buck, get off the radio. Off the radio. Stick hit all four tires. The cops got a lucky hit on all four tires. While the vehicle was able to continue for nearly a mile and a half, the deflated tires eventually forced it to a stop. With the cops closing in on them, the men exited the vehicle and fled on foot into a nearby neighborhood. Hey, show me your head. Get on the ground. Get on the ground right now. Get on the ground. Spraw. Scroll out. Hands out. Hands out. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Hands out. Hands out. Hands out. Don'ting move. Hold off. Hold off. >> While the cops were able to hold two of the men at gunpoint, the third suspect continued running. They had led officers on a dangerous pursuit and put civilian lives at risk. And the cops here were not about to take it easy on them. Everything they' done was completely idiotic. And they were lucky they didn't get themselves shot. >> Don't move. Okay. Don't move. >> You got anything on you? >> Spread your feet. Don't move. >> All right. Good. >> Hands on your back. Do it now. Give me your hands. Run. >> Give me other hand. two secure [Music] >> firefight last location >> ready. While the cops were tracking the third suspect, the cops were told by his accompllices that his name was Ace. They said they didn't know his real name, which was a ridiculous excuse. Eventually, they tracked the third suspect with the help of a canine. >> East of number six. >> Show me your hands now. Show me your hands. Hands up. Hands up. Show me your hands now. >> If you move, you're going to get bit. >> You understand? Can you get to him? >> Can you get to him? >> You're going to get bit. >> Hey, I want you to come out towards me. >> Come out towards you. >> Yep. Stand up. Hands up. Hands in the air. >> Can you grab my hands? >> Stand up with your hands in the air. >> Watch out. There's a bunch of coins right here. >> There. >> When you come out, you go straight down on your stomach. >> Yes, sir. >> Stand up. Put your feet under you. >> I'll try now. behind your back. >> Weapon. >> All right, last one secured. Great job. >> With the third man captured, the chase finally came to an end. They were all read their Miranda rights and placed in the back of squad cars without further incident. A detective talked with one of the suspects, but he was in no mood to cooperate. >> What am I being charged with? Okay. I'm Detective Pel from County Sheriff's Office. You're being charged with theft. >> Okay. All right. You want to talk to me about it then? >> Um >> cuz they got you on video down in Semino County. >> Me on video? >> You and two other guys, I guess. >> No, I didn't steal no cars, right? >> Well, I didn't say you stole it. >> Okay. >> But you were with people that did steal. I didn't say you stole it. >> The officer explained to the suspect that it didn't matter whether or not he physically stole the vehicle himself. He was a willing accomplice and would therefore be charged with Grand Theft Auto along with his buddies. The officer had more questions, but the suspect continued playing dumb. >> How about this? Make it easier for you. Where did you come from prior to getting to the gas station? driving. >> You were driving the rental car, right? >> Okay. So, who is the rental car assigned to? Who rented it? If you were driving it, you should know who rented it, >> sir. >> Mr. White. >> Sir. >> Yes. Somebody somebody let me let me hold the card. >> Okay. Who let you hold it? >> I don't I can't recall. I can't I don't know. They I don't know them like that, sir. I just know that I gave them a few bucks and they let me military car. >> Was it a male? >> H >> Was it a male? >> You say was it a male? >> Was it a male? a man who you gave a few bucks to that rented the car for you or was it a woman? >> Uh, a old white man. >> An old white man. >> They were all charged with grand theft auto, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools, resisting an officer with violence, possession of cannabis, 20 g or less, and possession of paraphernalia. Law enforcement is a dangerous career. Criminals don't want to go to jail, so a lot of them are willing to do just about anything to not get caught. And while this puts officers in harm's way, it also provides us these body cam moments that are straight from a
